8. The cost of medical education at that time was Rs. 2 lacs
Mrs. Amar set aside that amount for her son’s fees.
Mrs. Prem on the other hand took into account inflation and
other factors and invested the same amount.

9. Soon their sons finished college, did well in their
medical entrance exams, and got admission to the
finest medical college.
However, the cost of medical college had now
become Rs. 4 lacs!

a cheque for her son’s
admission
Since Mrs. Amar had set aside only
Rs. 2 lacs, she had to dip into her
savings.

wished
1) She could go back 30 years in time and
invest some of her money
2) She had done what Mrs. Prem has done
Mrs. Prem’s investment of just Rs. 10,000 per
month over the last 25 years @ 10% p.a. was
now worth
Rs. 1.32 crores!!!
