How Does Energy Affect Our Safety Through Our National...
Looking for apartments and being on my own for the first time brought to my attention how expensive
energy bills can be. I was determined to research a way to save on energy and cut down my bills.
While looking through the solutions I came across an intriguing discovery. Over the years energy
efficiency has become an epidemic, whether it affects global warming or protecting the environment,
saving money or improving the economy; conserving energy has a lot more to it than many people
will ever know. Everything we do requires energy. There is heat energy, light energy, mechanical
energy, electrical energy, chemical energy, nuclear energy, and so on. The fact that I was most
intrigued by is that energy plays a big part in our national ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As you can see the federal government deals with any crisis that arrives in our country to protect its
citizens. A crisis could occur at any moment in our lives and National Security is here for our
protection. Now that we know what National security is and what it has to do with our everyday lives,
I d like to explain what national security has to do with energy. I mentioned that one of the branches of
our national security is the security of natural resources and energy. By the word energy is meant the
power of doing work; and the energy which a laboring man possesses means, in the strictly physical
sense, the number of units which he is capable of accomplishing, (Stewart, 647). Since man require
such energy to do work, it is important that a group focus solely on energy security. Energy and
natural resources can consist of materials we use in our everyday lives; water, sources of energy such
as the wind and sun, fossil fuel, land, and power. As of 2011, the US has been one of the world s
largest energy consumers (Sovacool). Sovacool also describes energy security as equitably providing
available, affordable, reliable, efficient, environmentally benign, properly governed and socially
acceptable energy services to customers.
We now know that energy security is one of the more important branches of national security, but

Marketing Strategy For The Chevrolet Tahoe Campaign
O.P.E.N. involves on demand, personal, engaging and networked. Open branding is a brand shifts its
communication platform from traditional to innovative. This novel platform allows customers to share
their thoughts and ideas directly on the marketer s website. With the increase number of new
technologies, customers are no longer interested in traditional market because the traditional market
lacks communication with their customers and this results in lower consumer loyalty for a brand.
Open branding strategy gives the traditional market an opportunity to improve their relationships with
customers. Consumers want to engage more on market today, and they want their voice to be heard, so
many brands shift their strategies to keep their paces in the digital era.
Positive and Negative Aspects of the Chevy Tahoe Campaign Positive aspects. The Chevrolet
Company took a big step forward in its advertising campaign last spring. The company decided to
have a new promotional form which was to run an ad contest that people can post their video clips
about the Chevy Tahoe in its website. The benefit for this approach is to involve people who are really
interested in the company s products in conversation (Rose, 2006). By doing the customer generated
advertising, Chevrolet enhances the relationship with its customers and establishes the customer
loyalty. People can share their thoughts and participate in the communication which means they have
the power to influence the brand and the

Essay about A Bronx Tale
A Bronx Tale It s the sixties. Racism is running hot through the streets of New York. One
neighborhood in particular, where one group of boys makes the choice that will change their lives and
everyone s around them forever. These boys are young, full of talent and smart. These boys choose to
take all of what they had and throw it away. What happens to these boys next is something that you
would not want to wish on anybody. Here these young talented boys cram into a car and ride to the
African American neighborhood. The boys toss burning bottle of alcohol through a glass window into
a store. With burning bottles shattering left and right there is one that doesn t break. This one bottle

Calogero was angry but knew something was going to happen if he had stayed in that car. Sonny had
saved his life. Calogero was horrified he had lost his friends but happy that he could live another day.
Every day after that night Calogero used his talent and did great things for being a boy from the

everyone should remember. It is true that, The saddest thing in life is wasted talent. It is proven all

One is a residential realtor for housing, they re the ones who go out and try and sell houses for
everyday people. A very popular realtor company that is well known is Remax, founded in 1973 by
Dave Liniger, is still one of the most used housing realtors around in most states. It was named the top
real estate franchise. Another type of real estate is commercial, which means realtors that go out and
try to sell property and land.
Many stores and businesses you see every day have been sold by commercial real estate agents. The
last major type of real estate is industrial. Those types of realtor s help manufacture building and
properties, such as warehouses and sheds. They re the big picture production in the industry. Industrial
agents will typically have a flexible schedule, and be able to work at their own pace. That s one of the
greatest feelings is being able to completely be in control of your own schedule. I feel industrial real
estate is the best type of real estate out there, right up there with commercial real estate. The pay for
the real estate agents varies, depending upon what type of job you have. If you re a housing agent,
your pay goes off how many houses you sell. For instance, if you sell a house, then the owner pays the
firm, then the firm pays the government and finally the government pays you a small percent of what
the cost of the house was. Usually in all types of real estate you get 3% of the pay. In some rare

Analysis And Evaluation Of ENLACE NM And ELRIO Websites
According to the analysis and evaluation of the ENLACE NM and SSS TRIO websites, both pertain to
the same discourse community: educational programs. Both communities offer free services to
students supporting them with their educational endeavors. A website is used as an essential
communication tool to invite a specific population to become part of their program and reach their
ultimate mission. Although ENLACE NM and SSS TRIO websites promote the importance of higher
education, they differ in goals, language, the audience they serve, and the overall organization and
layout of their page. The mission statement of both communities is expressed similarly at the front

In addition, a senior in high school may visit both websites to explore the services that each program
provides since ENLACE helps students transition from high school to college, and SSS supports
students at the university level. SSS specifies its criteria for a targeted audience in the program
application found on a different tab of the website, but ENLACE addresses the community of Latino
students by explaining its initiatives throughout the page. Moreover, each community has its unique
syntax and vocabulary. The meaning of ENLACE represents the goal of the program: ENgaging
LAtino Communities for Education. There is an emphasis on the importance of collaboration of gente

by the website, such as initiative (taking action), collaborative (working together), and united
advocacy (supporting an important cause) represent the shared values and the mission of this
discourse community. Similarly, SSS TRIO stands for Student Support Services which is part of the
TRIO (three) programs funded through the U.S. Department of Education. SSS has a specific meaning

The Salem Witch Trials And Its Impact On American Society
Did you know that the Salem witch trials resulted in the execution of only twenty people? Most people
believe that hundreds of people were executed during the Salem witch trials, which is often a very
common thought but in actuality only twenty people (mostly women) were executed. The Salem witch
trials was a huge part of American history, they are important to remember because they are probably
a crucial turning point for America, because before the trials religion and superstition were very
important and after the trials happened rational thinking became more and more important. The Salem
witch trials had such an impact on American people that they are still remembered and talked of in
today s society. These trials are still today widely thought of as being important, because they showed
an excellent example of how people hate or fear what they do not understand, which is still a behavior
that is seen in present society. The Salem Witch Trials had many causes which all could have been
prevented if the Puritan government would have taken the time to investigate the accusations of the
alleged crimes being committed. The Salem witch trials provide many interesting aspects to discuss
such as, the historical information on the Salem witch trials, how the Puritan government could have
prevented this by not accepting spectral evidence, and why the puritan government was so willing to
accept the accusations being made. The first interesting aspect of the Salem witch trials is the

Argumentative Essay On Vietnam Veterans
Vietnam Veterans
In the history of the United States of America, veterans returning from a war are often celebrated as
heroes and welcomed home. That was not the case for the soldiers that returned home from the
Vietnam war. More Vietnam veterans were taken from suicide than on the battlefield. Fifty eight
thousand two hundred and twenty soldiers died in combat, where over a hundred thousand Vietnam
veterans committed suicide upon their return to the United States. This is partially due to the
mistreatment and discrimination they faced when they returned home. Vietnam veterans did not
deserve the way they were treated after the war. Most of the soldiers that served in the Vietnam war
were drafted, meaning that had no choice but to go and fight. When many Vietnam veterans returned
home to the United States, they were often treated as outsiders, criminals, called horrendous names,
treated with great disrespect, and discriminated against.
If you have ever heard of the Vietnam War, you most likely have heard of how horrible the American
soldiers were treated. When they came home to the United States, the country was torn over the
political and humanitarian aspects of America s involvement in the war. The American people were
asking questions as: Why was the war being fought? Was it worth the financial burden it was placing
on the United States? Did the U.S. really need to be involved in a conflict between a country in a civil
war? The returning Vietnam veteran soldiers became

Substitution Reactions ( Sn2 And Sn )
Using various alcohols, the substitution reactions (Sn2 and Sn) were utilized by helping with which
functional groups reacted, in which way. Developing a mechanism for the alcohols are discussed.
This journal inspects the substitution reactions occurring in the alcohol containing compounds. When
a substitution reaction transpires, it substitutes one sigma (Οƒ) bond with another sigma (Οƒ) bond. In
substitution reactions, there are two types that are focused when working with organic molecules, Sn1
and Sn2.
A Sn1 reaction is a nucleophilic substitution reaction, which has one molecule that is in the rate
determining step of the reaction. This simply means there is one substitution that occurs before the
final product is created. A Sn2 reaction is, also, a nucleophilic substitution reaction. The Sn2 reaction
has two molecules that are in the rate determining step; therefore, two substitutions occur before the
final product is created (reactions occur simultaneously).
The three different types of alcohols that were utilized during this experiment are common in Sn1 and
Sn2 reactions. The reaction that occurs between the alcohol and the solvents are both Sn1 and Sn2
reactions.
While working with reaction 1 there are several different chemical properties to be aware of, 3 Phenyl
1 propanol has a melting point of 18Β°C. It also has a boiling point of 119Β°C. The density of the alcohol

System Thoughts Regarding The Consumer Protection Act
System Thoughts Concerning the Consumer Protection Act
One can only speculate as to why the data reflects such a dramatic decrease in the number of
consumer loans processed in 2014, but based on the responses captured by the System survey it would
appear that the increased costs to comply with the revised consumer lending regulations and
reluctance by some System institutions may be some of the major factors. However, the mass majority
of institutions indicated although there is an added cost or added regulatory burden they will continue
to process consumer loans subject to TIL in some capacity. The following responses were grouped by
the most common theme: (System Survey, [12])

...
According to survey responses, of the 78 System institutions, seven have elected discontinue
processing of consumer loans subject to TIL regulations as of July 31, 2014. The three primary
reasons institutions have decided not to offer consumer lending products include: regulatory burden,
cost to train and maintain the program, and finally the lack of demand within the institutions lending
territory that constitutes a high cost to benefit scenario in order to comply with consumer regulations.
The institutions that stated regulatory burden as a major reason not to continue with consumer lending
was the direct result of Dodd Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act that has affected
TIL requirements. They stated in order to comply, they will have to hire outside personnel or revamp
their current training program dealing with consumer lending. If costs were not considered (will be
discussed later), the lack of expertise and appropriate training for all administrative staff and lending
officers would require a significant time investment and result in production loss in other critical
lending areas (e.g. agricultural products). Thus, some institutions believe the man hour investment
needed by institutions to comply was burdensome and not cost effective with production losses to core
borrowing activities.
The second major reason institutions have ceased or reduced consumer lending deals with the
expenses related to comply with the Act. Through the

City Of Jerusalem Research Paper
The city of Jerusalem is a very diverse city with many major religions having been part of the history
of Jerusalem. Judaism was one of the first monotheistic religions that centred on Jerusalem as it
became a major city for many Jewish people after they divided in to two tribes. Christianity is another
religion that has a centre in Jerusalem as it was mentioned in many Bible stories and is where many
miracles happened. Finally, Islam is one of the last monotheistic religions that are centred on
Jerusalem because it was where many of its major prophets came from. The city of Jerusalem can be
considered a major religious centre for Judaism, Islam and Christianity because it has been involved in
many major events from all three of those religions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The city of Jerusalem can be considered a major centre to Christianity because it is the location of
Jesus s travels and it is also where he was killed, resurrected and ascended into heaven. It is also to
location of where many of Jesus s miracles were performed. This is shown through the quote During
Passover in the third year of his public life, Jesus entered Jerusalem and was welcomed by the crowds
who rushed to meet him with palm branches. However, religious authorities were planning his arrest.
(DesRivieres 225)This quote shows us that Jesus was a very important figure for Christianity as he
was greeted by many people. It also proves that the location of Jesus s death and resurrection would be
in the area around Jerusalem as it was where he was arrested for blasphemy. All this means that
Jerusalem is a major centre for Christianity as many major events surrounding the life of Jesus
occurred. Another way Jerusalem is a major city for Christianity is because it is where the religion
itself came from and how it spread from that with The Pentecost. The Pentecost was a major event that
caused the followers of Jesus to gain the ability to speak different languages in order to spread
Christianity to different countries. (Zavada) An article also says Pentecost, a Jewish feast, was
celebrated 50 days after Passover, and pilgrims had come to Jerusalem from all over the world to
celebrate the event. The 12 apostles were gathered together in a house when a terrific wind came from
heaven and filled the place. They saw tongues that looked like fire that separated and came down on
each of them. (Zavada) This quote shows us that the early Christian Church started in Jerusalem and
spread throughout the world from there. This means that Jerusalem is an important religious centre in
Christianity because it originated from there. These reasons are why Jerusalem is also a major
religious centre to

Observation of a Hallway Essay
The building labeled B appears to be the main building for courses at Local Community College.
Students walk in and out of the building all day and stop only to enter a classroom or buy food from

chairs that line the walls while waiting for a class to start, but for now the hallway is nearly empty and
waiting for the ambush of students.

rests in its case concealed by dark glass. A young man also sits across from the door. He has dark hair
about two inches long, and has it styled in casual disarray. His facial features are well formed, having
a strong line about his jaw and thick eyebrows. His eyes are the color of the sky before a storm. His
body is well proportioned and his clothes are made of designer quality. Other students walk by, but he

The air is filled with a sweet aroma as another female student walks by. The perfume is strong and

Huck Finn Moral Education Analysis
Twain argues that a moral education should come from personal experiences, he proves this through
Huck s personal experiences with Jim, his inability to rat on Jim to Miss. Watson, and Tom s lies at the
end.
Through Huck s experiences with Jim Twain shows that moral education should come from one s
personal experiences. After Huck and Jim get separated in the middle of the night, Huck tries to pull a

Allusion in this passage to the romanticism unit not only shows Twain s dislike for romanticism but
also where Tom Sawyer s morals and sense of reality comes from. Showing where Tom s morality

Essay On Bystander In Heart Of Darkness
Title In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends (King,
n.d.). King s (n.d.) statement demonstrates the major internal impact bystanders can have on others. As
a matter of fact, most people do not think about the possible long term effects of not standing up for
someone or something. Although it may not seem like a big deal to one person, it could be life
changing to another. Many just consider a bystander to be someone who is present at an incident and
doesn t take action, but there is actually much more to it. The term bystander can be defined as
someone who is present during corruption, doesn t speak up, and seems not to care about others.
Present During Corruption By ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By not speaking up, one may be considered just as guilty as the person committing the corrupt action.
Although, many can argue on this topic, depending on the situation and how bad it truly is. I had
refused to give up the smallest scrap out of that package... Expect nothing else, I said (Conrad, 1990,
p. 120 121). In this quote, Marlow withheld Kurtz s report and gave nothing to the company. The
company became angry because they wanted to know what Kurtz wrote about finding the ivory, but
Marlow wouldn t budge. For the sake of being a bystander, Marlow should have respected the
company and given them the report. He knew all that Kurtz had done to the natives, but decided to not
speak up and tell anyone. A real world example of this is when a kid is being bullied in the back of the
school bus and someone is reading their book, hears the commotion, but thinks to themselves that
someone else will step in and decides not to say anything (Tranell, 2017). The right thing to do would
have been to get up or saying something to make the bullying stop, instead this student chose not to do
anything. Being able to vocally put oneself out there and speak up can be a challenge at times, but is
definitely worth while. TRANSITION WORD, it is crazy how much of an impact humans can truly
have on a corrupt situation, just by simply speaking up. Furthermore, this is more than a choice of
speaking up, but

The Impacts of Workaholism
In no other time in history have we witnessed such a drive towards overwork. Some may get a sense

this phenomenon, the term workaholic has been coined to describe these people. Since it was familiar
to men, more research have been done to this popular issue workaholism, and it has been proved that
workaholism has great effects on human. This essay gives definitions of workaholism and reveals its

Finally, all these factors will reduce enterprises cohesive force and productivity. Moreover, huge costs
have to be spent on recruiting, selecting and training new employees (Quick, Henley and Quick, 2005,
p.32).
Even though workaholism has some good influences, it exerts much more negative influences on
humans.
To start with, excessive work has great impacts on people s mental health. On the one hand, it
produces huge pressure on men and affects their moods seriously. Workaholics always suffer from
obsessive worry, mood fluctuations (Quick, Henley and Quick, 2005, p.31) and this will lead to a poor
quality of life. Worse of all, those who are uninterruptedly under pressure are likely to get paranoid,
manic or even schizophrenic (Quick, Henley and Quick, 2005, p.36). On the other hand, researchers
have showed that mental disorder caused by overwork has a direct connection with pregnancy and
miscarriage. Hamilton and Denniss believe that long working hours reduce the possibility of
pregnancy and increase the risk of preterm births, also it effects infants growth (2005, p.15). It is
rueful and ridiculous that mother s addiction to work threatens babies lives.
Next, the negative physical health ramifications are caused by overwork. It enhances the probability of
having serious and fatal disease. Evidence has reflected that employees who work overly, compared
with those who work regularly, are more likely

Overall, I would say that my perspective on TM has changed. Had I not needed to go do homework, I

Good President Qualities
My paper is going to be on the qualities the president needs to be a good president. The president
needs to be focused at all times of the presidency, and he needs to have the knowledge when to be
honest and when not to be honest with the people. Also the president should have confidence in
themselves and their ideas. Honesty, focus and confidence is what I think a would make a good
president of the United States. A president needs to be focused on the tacks at hand the wars he needs
to be cautious of the warriors lives out there in the battlefield( Farrell para. 7). And the president needs
to look over deals and sales with countries. One example is Abraham Lincoln he figured out a way to

The focus of a president is one of the best qualities to have because then you know what you are doing
for the country. But knowing when to be honest with the people is another quality that is useful. Also
the self confidence plays a big part of the president s roll if he can t trust in himself to make the right
decision for our country then why would we elect him for president. So the focus, honesty and self
confidence are the most important qualities to have to be a president and a good

Curtis Chang Model Minority Myth
Analyzing the Myth of the Model Minority
By Bluebird
In Streets of Gold: The Myth of the Model Minority by Curtis Chang, he discusses the stereotypes
labeled against Asian Americans and explains how the U.S. Society sees them as the model minority .
He goes to the core of the model minority assumption, and shows the reader how the media heavily
influences these ideas. He shows how cultural patterns within the Asian American society fuel these
ideas. Chang uses very interesting ways of presenting evidence by putting quotes within his piece
thoughtfully, so that the quotes blend in with the paragraph. The author also has a humorous voice

Research Review Of New Horizons
Research Paper A Trip to Pluto
Synopsis: New Horizons is the first probe to get within 8000 miles of Pluto. We currently think our
best shot at finding extraterrestrial life is Mars or Europa, but if New Horizon were to send us signs of
life from Pluto, it would drastically change goals for the future of space exploration. A manned
mission to Pluto might go from a distant dream to a top priority, but the challenges of such a journey
are immense. The spacecraft must be able to travel to the outer reaches of the solar system safely and
swiftly and life support must be able to keep the crew alive and well, both in transit and once they
reach the planet. My story follows a manned mission to Pluto with a crew of 4 astronauts, and covers
the technology needed to overcome the technical challenges of reaching the distant, icy dwarf planet.
The topic I m focusing on for the purposes of this paper is propulsion and orbital mechanics,
specifically, gravity assists, fusion engines and propulsive landers.
One of the biggest problems with travelling to Pluto is simply summed up by the fact that it is very,
very far away. Pluto has a highly elliptical orbit, so at different points in time it s closer and then
further away from us (and the sun). In terms of distance from the sun, it s about 29.7 AU at the closest
part of its orbit (the perihelion) and 49.3 AU at the furthest part (aphelion), leading to an average of
39.5 AU. [1] We only recently managed to get a spacecraft within flyby

After reading the article Nacirema, it shows that the belief of American think their culture is superior

(Body Paragraph: General Information on self devaluation) Now that we are better able to
comprehend self stigma we can focus on the affects that impact patients lives negatively. It is
imperative to note that the discrimination of schizophrenic persons gives birth to self devaluation.
With that said, schizophrenic persons who experience discrimination in his or her life will feel distant
from society, similar to being an outcast or a black sheep. This may be the reason why self stigma
generates lower self esteem and lower self efficacy which drastically lowers quality of life. In
addition, self devaluation leads to a decreased readiness to change and an increased declination of
treatment within the behavior of patients. By increasing our knowledge on the subject and increasing
awareness we can combat internalized stigma. (Body Paragraph: Study(s) done examining self

generating studies that examines self devaluation over time. In one study, researchers applied a kernel

Cause And Effect Of Burmese Pythons
The Burmese python (Python bivittatus) is one of the largest snakes in the world, measuring up to 5.74
meters long and weighing up to 182.8 kilograms. The species is native to southeast Asia and in its
native habitat, consumes a wide array of prey including many different mammal, amphibian, lizard,
snake, bird, and fish species (Snow et al. 2007). In southern Florida, pythons have established
themselves across thousands of square kilometers including all of Everglades National Park (Boback
et al. 2016). Research points to multiple instances of pet release to be the cause of their introduction to
the Everglades as a foreign species (Snow et al. 2007). Python populations have significantly
increased in both abundance and geographic range in the Everglades since their introduction, preying
on a wide variety of native mammals and birds, posing a serious problem as an invasive species and
apex predator (Dorcas et al. 2012). As an invasive species, the Burmese python has an immense
impact on the native populations of the Everglades. In the last 20 years, observations of mammals in
the Everglades have declined by 95% while the number of non native Burmese pythons in the park has
significantly increased (Sovie et al. 2016). Data from game cameras used in a study by Willson
support this observation, showing the spatial pattern of mammal abundance being inversely correlated
with spatial expansion of Burmese pythons in the Everglades (Willson 2017). Burmese pythons have

Evolution Of Photosynthesis Essay
Approximately 4.6 billion years ago, it is thought that as many of the giant disc shaped cloud of
material keeps spinning they collide with each other forming the sun and other smaller terrestrial
worlds like Earth. The solar winds had less impact on lighter elements and gravity slowly gathered
these gases and dust creating asteroids, comets, and moons.
Earth s rocky core formed first, with heavy elements colliding and binding together. Dense material
sank to the center, while the lighter pieces created the crust. The planet s magnetic field probably
formed around this time. Gravity captured some of the lighter elements that make up the planet s early
atmosphere.

They first existed around 3.9 3.5 billion years ago, known as the Archean eon. The prokaryotes
dominated the Earth from 3.5 2.0 billion years ago. Then the amount of oxygen in the atmosphere
suddenly raised from 0 to 10%, in a short period of time. Oxygen was most likely produced by a new
prokaryote called cyanobacteria. Cyanobacteria had figured out how to make its own food through
photosynthesis. The more cyanobacteria were out there, the higher the atmospheric concentration of
oxygen became. Cyanobacteria changed the atmosphere and made way for the evolution of living
thing to take a new specific direction.
About 2.1 billion years ago, another organism was formed, Eukaryotes. They probably evolve by a
process called endosymbiosis, where one prokaryote pairs and ties with another prokaryote. It formed
a single celled organism with organelles, specifically the mitochondria and plastids, which probably
evolved from the parasitic prokaryote. By 1.5 billion years ago, we started seeing multi cellular
eukaryotic organisms in the fossil record. The very first would be the Algae. But it wasn t until 535

Lynch Syndrome
Lynch syndrome, previously known as hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer (HNPCC) is a
parental inherited condition that exposes a person to the risks of cancers, but most commonly colon
cancer1 9. It is a heterozygous autosomal dominant genetic condition, which means that if only one
parent carries the gene for Lynch syndrome (LS), then a 50 percent chance of passing on the mutation
will be passed to each child1 9. LS is limited to families with a known pathogenic germline mutation2.
A germline mutation is when mutations occur in the germ line, which is a group of cells that
contribute to the improvement of gametes2,3,10. To find out how individuals are to contract this
disease, the family medical history must be taken into account. Early ... Show more content on

The first role is that there is a predisposition to cancer development, meaning that a mutation in Mlh1
or Msh2 provide alternate causes for LS2,5. These mutations are distinguished because of the presence
of CpG islands and following transcriptional loss of single genetic alleles of the affected gene, which
results in the comparison of a heterozygous mutation2,10. CpG islands are clusters of the sequence
CG which may be gathered near promoter regions in a gene10. Another role is when the Lynch
associated tumors developed as a result a somatic loss of function of the last normal allele of the
mutated gene2. Somatic loss of function is a genetic change that takes place in a somatic cell, but the
change is not aquired2,10. Finally, the last role is the role of more derived epigenetic changes that may
be gained to assist the growth and advancement of associated Lynch tumors2. The studies of these
roles have shown that tumor suppressor genes occur within Lynch syndrome

They first tasted the ability of Kpelle children s memory and compared it with the US school students.
They made them remember an item from a word list organized into different categories. This test was
repeated many times. As a result, the Kpelle non schooled children hardly improved in the free recall
test after the age of 10, compared to the US children. They only remembered two items after 15 trials.
In other hand, the schooled Kpelle children performed the same as the US schooled children. The non

The Powers Of The U.s. Congress
Examining the Powers of the U.S. Congress Congress has constitutional rights established that reserve
a solidified position to influence the budget and its process. With most of its power being apparent
with discretionary funds in which appropriations bills occur, it also has a hand in mandatory funding
by way of legislation. A bicameral process with rules attached, takes place to carry out the proposed
budget prepared by the Executive branch. Although the President and his administration begin the
budgetary process, Congress still has a large amount of power that sometimes isn t even used.
Nevertheless, Congress is an enduring participant in the budget appropriation process.
Power of the Purse
In the budget appropriation process, Congress is granted influential powers from the constitution. In
Article 1, Section 8, Clause 1, the power to control or limit federal spending is placed in the hands of
Congress. This power is known as the Power of the Purse , which may be regarded as one of the most
effective weapons by which representatives can be armed with (Whener, 2006). Its importance
branches from the requirements Congress is granted for legislative approval of financial measures.
Among the checks and balances of the government, this ability to maneuver and influence the budget
is a democratic cornerstone. The Power of the Purse is Congress s main weapon against Executive
oppression by allowing congressional approval of appropriations (Whener, 2016). However, even

They speculate about the condition of their patient, the other patients at the scene, and their co

Having been exposed to a typical accident scene that most emergency medical personnel are used to
working can be somewhat shocking. There are many questions, which arise after working a call like
that just described. The one I would like to focus on is what were the names of the EMTs and
Paramedics involved in the accident scene depicted? Jeff, Will, and John? Or could they possibly have
been Charlene, Lee, and Tracy?
Even in today s world of political correctness, there is still a very large gender bias when it comes to
certain things, such as Emergency Medical Services (EMS). The number of men in the field is much
higher than the number of women. Women, for the most part, are looked at as not being as capable of
performing what is required of an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or a Paramedic as men are.
EMTs and Paramedics are required to make split second, possibly life saving decisions, lift large
amounts of weight, and work long hours in all conditions. Since most women are physically smaller
than most men are, they are viewed as not being strong enough to lift patients or equipment in many
situations.

Astronomers can use the light given off by stars for many things. With the light given off by stars they
can see the distance that the star is located from earth. They can also use the light given off by stars to
see what that star is composed of. When something is so hot that it glows, for example stars, it shows
features that can help you decide what it is made of. This is because different things give off a
different spectrum of light when they are burnt to the point that they glow. Each product gives off a
different spectrum, this can be compared to be almost like a fingerprint. Cool gases will also absorb
various wavelengths of light and produce a spectrum with dark lines at different places. With this in

Absorption lines are created when light from something hot like a star passes through a cooler gas,
cancelling out the emission lines the chemicals in the gas would normally create. When you look at
the spectrum of a star, for example, you can see absorption lines because the star s outer atmosphere is
cooler than the central part, explains Watson. in such an analysis of chemical abundances, the
wavelength of each line is treated as fixed. However, this is not true when the star is moving towards
us (the lines are observed at shorter wavelengths, or blueshifted, than those measured in the
laboratory) or moving away from us. If the spectrum of a star is red or blue shifted, then you can use
that to infer their velocities along the line of sight. During the first half of the 19th century, scientists
such as John Herschel, Fox Talbot, and Willam Swan studied the spectra of different chemical
elements in flames. Gradually, the idea that each element produces a set of characteristic emission
lines has become established. Each element has several prominent, and many lesser, emission lines in
a characteristic

wages, restrictions on movement by withholding of passports or confinement to the workplace, and
physical or sexual abuse. Bangladeshi and Nepali men and women are trafficked through India for
involuntary servitude in the Middle East. Figure 1. Photo by Kay Chernush for the U.S. State
Department.
Shown above, a 9 year old girl toils under the hot sun, making bricks from morning to night, seven
days a week. She was trafficked with her entire family from Bihar, one of the poorest and most
underdeveloped states in India, and sold to the owner of a brick making factory. She has no means of
escape, and is unable to speak the local language; the family is isolated and lives in terrible conditions.

an ogre that lives in a swamp, living happily alone. HeΕ› gross, but happy. All of a sudden, ShrekΕ›
peace is interrupted by other fairytale creatures showing up at his home. Some of those fairytale
creatures are the three pigs, the gingerbread man, and Pinocchio. When they are questioned, they tell
him that Lord Farquaad banished them to the swamp. Angered, Shrek seeks out the king. On the way

Purge Persuasive Speech
Despite the horrible ideas of what a purge is, the world should have one. There have been two movies
made about purges, so it must be a good idea to have one for ourselves. The benefits of having a purge
are, it is a stress reliever, controls the population count, and for a few hours you could be the most
powerful person. Purging is a great concept that everyone should be open to. Have you ever wanted to
get rid of all of your stress? Well having a purge would help you do exactly that. The thrill of killing
someone makes you forget everything entirely and just focus on the person you are killing. Maybe
there are certain people who make you stressed, kill them and your stress is gone forever. Now the
purge is only for a few hours so if you have multiple people who cause you to have stress, move very
quickly. (appeal to authority) The earth has entirely too many humans inhabiting it. Purging would
help resolve this issue. There are 7 billion on this planet and roughly 320 million in the United States,
so if we as a country had a purge and everyone killed at least one human then the population would
decrease drastically. The world is very much over ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To be Donald Trump or Harry Styles just for one day. Having all of the fame and power that your little
heart could dream of. Well this thought has crossed my mind frequently and purging would help me
accomplish this goal. I wouldn t want to be Harry Styles but I would like to be a powerful as him. I am
quite certain that I am not alone in this thought. Even though the purge is notorious for killing, I would
by no means kill Harry Styles, I would just take his identity since all crime is legal. Then when
purging hours are over I would go back to my daily life which includes, sitting on my couch and
loathing in my own self pity. Knowing that I could be this powerful would be the greatest achievement
of my life, even though it is for a few hours.

Why Narwhals Are Awesome
Narwhals Are Awesome For one thing there magical at least I think they are, here are some reasons
way. They are practically the son/ daughter of the MAGICAL unicorn which means, at least, some of
them have to be magical. All of them inherited the unicorns Magical horn so therefore they all have
magic inside them from the horn. So that s two points that they re magical But I have a third it is they
are unicorns of the sea which proves in some form that unicorns exist. So that s one reason narwhals
are awesome Here s another, they are better than giraffes because they are talkative little
blabbermouths they click, whistle, and squeal. Also, as far as I know there isn t an awesome song
about them. Here s the 2nd to last reason they use sonar

The descriptive statistics in the survey portion that was given out are given in table 1. A correlations
test was used in order to identify if there were any statistically significant correlations between any of
the variables that data was gathered for, and there was in fact a significance between the two questions
of if you could spend a whole day in an art museum would that make you feel happy or sad, and then
intrigued or more bored (r (27) =.419, p=.025). There was also a slight, but still statistically
insignificant, correlation between self esteem and if going to an art museum for a whole day would
make you more happy or sad (r (29) =.416, p=.025). The use of a scatterplot was also used to provide
a visual representation of the correlations explained above, which can be seen in figure 1 this type of
association would be described as more curvilinear because it does not go in a straight line or

  • 2. How Does Energy Affect Our Safety Through Our National... Looking for apartments and being on my own for the first time brought to my attention how expensive energy bills can be. I was determined to research a way to save on energy and cut down my bills. While looking through the solutions I came across an intriguing discovery. Over the years energy efficiency has become an epidemic, whether it affects global warming or protecting the environment, saving money or improving the economy; conserving energy has a lot more to it than many people will ever know. Everything we do requires energy. There is heat energy, light energy, mechanical energy, electrical energy, chemical energy, nuclear energy, and so on. The fact that I was most intrigued by is that energy plays a big part in our national ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As you can see the federal government deals with any crisis that arrives in our country to protect its citizens. A crisis could occur at any moment in our lives and National Security is here for our protection. Now that we know what National security is and what it has to do with our everyday lives, I d like to explain what national security has to do with energy. I mentioned that one of the branches of our national security is the security of natural resources and energy. By the word energy is meant the power of doing work; and the energy which a laboring man possesses means, in the strictly physical sense, the number of units which he is capable of accomplishing, (Stewart, 647). Since man require such energy to do work, it is important that a group focus solely on energy security. Energy and natural resources can consist of materials we use in our everyday lives; water, sources of energy such as the wind and sun, fossil fuel, land, and power. • 9. Argumentative Essay On Vietnam Veterans Vietnam Veterans In the history of the United States of America, veterans returning from a war are often celebrated as heroes and welcomed home. That was not the case for the soldiers that returned home from the Vietnam war. More Vietnam veterans were taken from suicide than on the battlefield. Fifty eight thousand two hundred and twenty soldiers died in combat, where over a hundred thousand Vietnam veterans committed suicide upon their return to the United States. This is partially due to the mistreatment and discrimination they faced when they returned home. Vietnam veterans did not deserve the way they were treated after the war. Most of the soldiers that served in the Vietnam war were drafted, meaning that had no choice but to go and fight. When many Vietnam veterans returned home to the United States, they were often treated as outsiders, criminals, called horrendous names, treated with great disrespect, and discriminated against. If you have ever heard of the Vietnam War, you most likely have heard of how horrible the American soldiers were treated. When they came home to the United States, the country was torn over the political and humanitarian aspects of America s involvement in the war. • 10. Substitution Reactions ( Sn2 And Sn ) Using various alcohols, the substitution reactions (Sn2 and Sn) were utilized by helping with which functional groups reacted, in which way. Developing a mechanism for the alcohols are discussed. This journal inspects the substitution reactions occurring in the alcohol containing compounds. When a substitution reaction transpires, it substitutes one sigma (Οƒ) bond with another sigma (Οƒ) bond. In substitution reactions, there are two types that are focused when working with organic molecules, Sn1 and Sn2. A Sn1 reaction is a nucleophilic substitution reaction, which has one molecule that is in the rate determining step of the reaction. This simply means there is one substitution that occurs before the final product is created. A Sn2 reaction is, also, a nucleophilic substitution reaction. The Sn2 reaction has two molecules that are in the rate determining step; therefore, two substitutions occur before the final product is created (reactions occur simultaneously). The three different types of alcohols that were utilized during this experiment are common in Sn1 and Sn2 reactions. The reaction that occurs between the alcohol and the solvents are both Sn1 and Sn2 reactions. While working with reaction 1 there are several different chemical properties to be aware of, 3 Phenyl 1 propanol has a melting point of 18Β°C. It also has a boiling point of 119Β°C. However, the mass majority of institutions indicated although there is an added cost or added regulatory burden they will continue to process consumer loans subject to TIL in some capacity. According to survey responses, of the 78 System institutions, seven have elected discontinue processing of consumer loans subject to TIL regulations as of July 31, 2014. The three primary reasons institutions have decided not to offer consumer lending products include: regulatory burden, cost to train and maintain the program, and finally the lack of demand within the institutions lending territory that constitutes a high cost to benefit scenario in order to comply with consumer regulations. The institutions that stated regulatory burden as a major reason not to continue with consumer lending was the direct result of Dodd Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act that has affected TIL requirements. They stated in order to comply, they will have to hire outside personnel or revamp their current training program dealing with consumer lending. If costs were not considered (will be discussed later), the lack of expertise and appropriate training for all administrative staff and lending officers would require a significant time investment and result in production loss in other critical lending areas (e.g. agricultural products). Thus, some institutions believe the man hour investment needed by institutions to comply was burdensome and not cost effective with production losses to core borrowing activities. The second major reason institutions have ceased or reduced consumer lending deals with the expenses related to comply with the Act. Through the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The city of Jerusalem can be considered a major centre to Christianity because it is the location of Jesus s travels and it is also where he was killed, resurrected and ascended into heaven. It is also to location of where many of Jesus s miracles were performed. This is shown through the quote During Passover in the third year of his public life, Jesus entered Jerusalem and was welcomed by the crowds who rushed to meet him with palm branches. However, religious authorities were planning his arrest. (DesRivieres 225)This quote shows us that Jesus was a very important figure for Christianity as he was greeted by many people. It also proves that the location of Jesus s death and resurrection would be in the area around Jerusalem as it was where he was arrested for blasphemy. All this means that Jerusalem is a major centre for Christianity as many major events surrounding the life of Jesus occurred. Another way Jerusalem is a major city for Christianity is because it is where the religion itself came from and how it spread from that with The Pentecost. The Pentecost was a major event that caused the followers of Jesus to gain the ability to speak different languages in order to spread Christianity to different countries. (Zavada) An article also says Pentecost, a Jewish feast, was celebrated 50 days after Passover, and pilgrims had come to Jerusalem from all over the world to celebrate the event. The 12 apostles were gathered together in a house when a terrific wind came from heaven and filled the place. They saw tongues that looked like fire that separated and came down on each of them. We currently think our best shot at finding extraterrestrial life is Mars or Europa, but if New Horizon were to send us signs of life from Pluto, it would drastically change goals for the future of space exploration. A manned mission to Pluto might go from a distant dream to a top priority, but the challenges of such a journey are immense. The spacecraft must be able to travel to the outer reaches of the solar system safely and swiftly and life support must be able to keep the crew alive and well, both in transit and once they reach the planet. My story follows a manned mission to Pluto with a crew of 4 astronauts, and covers the technology needed to overcome the technical challenges of reaching the distant, icy dwarf planet. The topic I m focusing on for the purposes of this paper is propulsion and orbital mechanics, specifically, gravity assists, fusion engines and propulsive landers. One of the biggest problems with travelling to Pluto is simply summed up by the fact that it is very, very far away. Pluto has a highly elliptical orbit, so at different points in time it s closer and then further away from us (and the sun). In terms of distance from the sun, it s about 29.7 AU at the closest part of its orbit (the perihelion) and 49.3 AU at the furthest part (aphelion), leading to an average of 39.5 AU. (Body Paragraph: General Information on self devaluation) Now that we are better able to comprehend self stigma we can focus on the affects that impact patients lives negatively. It is imperative to note that the discrimination of schizophrenic persons gives birth to self devaluation. With that said, schizophrenic persons who experience discrimination in his or her life will feel distant from society, similar to being an outcast or a black sheep. This may be the reason why self stigma generates lower self esteem and lower self efficacy which drastically lowers quality of life. In addition, self devaluation leads to a decreased readiness to change and an increased declination of treatment within the behavior of patients. By increasing our knowledge on the subject and increasing awareness we can combat internalized stigma. The species is native to southeast Asia and in its native habitat, consumes a wide array of prey including many different mammal, amphibian, lizard, snake, bird, and fish species (Snow et al. 2007). In southern Florida, pythons have established themselves across thousands of square kilometers including all of Everglades National Park (Boback et al. 2016). Research points to multiple instances of pet release to be the cause of their introduction to the Everglades as a foreign species (Snow et al. 2007). Python populations have significantly increased in both abundance and geographic range in the Everglades since their introduction, preying on a wide variety of native mammals and birds, posing a serious problem as an invasive species and apex predator (Dorcas et al. 2012). As an invasive species, the Burmese python has an immense impact on the native populations of the Everglades. In the last 20 years, observations of mammals in the Everglades have declined by 95% while the number of non native Burmese pythons in the park has significantly increased (Sovie et al. 2016). Data from game cameras used in a study by Willson support this observation, showing the spatial pattern of mammal abundance being inversely correlated with spatial expansion of Burmese pythons in the Everglades (Willson 2017). The solar winds had less impact on lighter elements and gravity slowly gathered these gases and dust creating asteroids, comets, and moons. Earth s rocky core formed first, with heavy elements colliding and binding together. Dense material sank to the center, while the lighter pieces created the crust. Cyanobacteria had figured out how to make its own food through photosynthesis. The more cyanobacteria were out there, the higher the atmospheric concentration of oxygen became. Cyanobacteria changed the atmosphere and made way for the evolution of living thing to take a new specific direction. About 2.1 billion years ago, another organism was formed, Eukaryotes. Lynch Syndrome Lynch syndrome, previously known as hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer (HNPCC) is a parental inherited condition that exposes a person to the risks of cancers, but most commonly colon cancer1 9. It is a heterozygous autosomal dominant genetic condition, which means that if only one parent carries the gene for Lynch syndrome (LS), then a 50 percent chance of passing on the mutation will be passed to each child1 9. LS is limited to families with a known pathogenic germline mutation2. This is because different things give off a different spectrum of light when they are burnt to the point that they glow. Absorption lines are created when light from something hot like a star passes through a cooler gas, cancelling out the emission lines the chemicals in the gas would normally create. When you look at the spectrum of a star, for example, you can see absorption lines because the star s outer atmosphere is cooler than the central part, explains Watson. in such an analysis of chemical abundances, the wavelength of each line is treated as fixed. However, this is not true when the star is moving towards us (the lines are observed at shorter wavelengths, or blueshifted, than those measured in the laboratory) or moving away from us. If the spectrum of a star is red or blue shifted, then you can use that to infer their velocities along the line of sight. During the first half of the 19th century, scientists such as John Herschel, Fox Talbot, and Willam Swan studied the spectra of different chemical elements in flames.
