Can A Party Use The Work Product Of Protect Trial Exhibits...
ISSUE
I. Can a party use the work product doctrine to protect trial exhibits at a pretrial conference?
BRIEF ANSWER
I. Likely no. While a court may be able to protect trial exhibits, it likely cannot do so under the work
product doctrine.
DICUSSION
While, pretrial conference rules likely do not mandate that courts must allow opposing parties to see
each others trial exhibits, the use of the work product doctrine in this case was likely incorrectly
applied. The Kansas statutes provide for pretrial conferences, but do not provide much in the way of
detail for what should occur in these conferences. Kan. Stat. Ann. § 60 216 (2014). The Supreme
Court Rules go into further detail, providing that at the pretrial conference parties inform the court and
opposing parties of all exhibits parties intend to use at the trial along with several other procedural
steps. KS R DIST CT Rule 140. However, the rule does provide that the conferences must be
conducted substantially in conformity with the listed procedural steps and so not every step must be
completed to satisfy the rule. Id. District courts have broad discretionary powers under K.S.A. 60 216
and so district courts have the ability to guide the pretrial conference process as they see fit. Boyle v.
Harries, 22 Kan. App. 2d 686, 690 (1996). It is largely unclear what standard the Court of Appeals
would use for an appeal on this issue. A question of whether a document falls under work product is
subject to unlimited

The Causes Of The Renaissance And The Scientific Revolution
There are many different kinds of turning points in history that changed many society. These turning
points affected and advanced the lives of many people and the different time period they lived in. The
Renaissance and the Scientific Revolution both were major turning points because they both have a
huge impact on the advancement of people s life and their knowledge.
The Renaissance was huge turning point that impacted society since it changed the daily and social
life of many people. During the 14th century, Italy became a place that is very powerful with business
and had strong political powers because it was a huge trading center. This started an time where Italy
and some of Europe became prosperous in economics which is called as The Renaissance. There was
many causes to the Renaissance but the one cause is the influence from Greeks and Romans since
Ancient Greece studied history and are famous historians, it influenced people to do the same. Another
important cause is that people embrace the idea of human and life is more important than religion.
This also led to people shifting their focus from religious belief to secular ideas. People also really
wanted to accomplish their own achievements with their own power. Lastly, a disease known as The
Black Death is also a cause since it ended the system of feudalism and allowed people to find new
ways to climb up the social class especially in places where social mobility much greater than other
places. As a result, people s life became more and more prosperous . People who had shifted their
focus to non religious ideas accomplishes many things and some who became artists were also very
successful. The city Florence that is in Italy was a place where art florised. Many important figures
and wealthy families acquired their status and their famed recognition, would patronize arts by paying
an artist to create an impressive work of art. This was to mainly to show off their limitless amount of
wealthy. This led to an increase in trade which also meant that many cities grew in size and can
provide more jobs to people. Wealth became a symbol for power, wealth and prestige. In the
Renaissance, people became more richer, prosperous and intelligent because they change

The Madness Inside, or Outside Hamlet
One of the most controversial pieces of Hamlet is whether Hamlet s madness is real or if he is faking
it. If his madness isn t real, and he is feigning it, it opens up the idea that he is using his madness as a
distraction in order to divert attention from his true actions of killing Claudius. In The Lion King,
Simba doesn t have any of his own madness, but his friends Timone and Pumba supply him with some
of their own. Timone and Pumba are Hamlet s madness, but instead of Simba being mad himself, it is
projected onto others. Timone and Pumba help Simba push the death of his father out of his mind,
help him push the thoughts of his own death out of his mind, and help create a distraction for him
realize his destiny of taking his rightful ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This may be prolonged due to the fact that during the time that his father has died and now mother had
already remarried. It isn t until he decides to act mad that he can finally push past his father s death. If
his madness truly was an act then his mind was busy thinking up his unique sentence that confused
those around him. In The Lion King the death of Mufasa occurs in the story. After Simba escapes his
own death after witnessing his father s, he finds the madness much faster. When he finds Timone and
Pumba they immediately attempt to change his way of thinking by telling Simba Hakuna Matata,
(Allers Minkoff, 43). Once Timone and Pumba introduce Hakuna Matata to him, he is freed of his past
he is no longer concerned about where he came from, but instead only with what is coming. As
Timone put it You got to put your past behind you. (43). If Simba could push past his father s death, he
could make it through anything. The madness brought peace to both characters, it helped them move
on with their lives. Without the madness they may have met an early demise.
In The Lion King, Simba runs away after his uncle tries to have him killed. After that he just doesn t
want to go on, his dad had just died, and he believed it was his fault. Simba just wants to give up on
life, so when Timone asks, Hey where ya going? Simba replies, Nowhere. (42). Simba just wanted

King Cyrus Of The Great
King Cyrus of Persia
Bikram Brar
Ms. Lussier
Classics 11G Section 2
November 15, 2014
This essay is about King Cyrus of Persia or as known throughout the world in his day as Cyrus the
Great. This essay will be four paragraphs which will state his early life, genealogy and rise to the
throne, his adult life and many conquests, his later years, families, death and his lasting legacy.
King Cyrus was born in c. 575 B.C. He was the son of a Persian king called Cambyses and his wife
Mandane, and he was called Kurush or Cyrus as Greeks said it. He would be Cyrus the Great, Cyrus
the architect and Cyrus, the founder of the Persian Empire. There are few details of his birth and
childhood but most of them can be found in the stories ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The more reliable Herodotus said Cyrus was of partly Median and that a Median king Astyages,
overlord of the Persians, gave his daughter Mandane to his Persian serf Cambyses, rather than one of
his Medes that were held in high prestige. He did this because he had a dream where his daughter said
she hated him and his kingdom. Herodotus said he kept on having dreams like this and when he heard
Cyrus was born ordered one of his officers Harpagus to kill the child. Other accounts say he had
dreams that Cyrus would one day overthrow him and that s why he ordered him killed. Harpagus didn
t have the heart to kill the child and then hid him in the mountains with herdsmen, who agreed to take
care of him. Astyages then had Harpagus son butchered, jointed the body and then served it dressed in
mutton to Harpagus. At the age of 10 Cyrus was found but Astyages was persuaded to let Cyrus live.
In 559 B.C. He Cyrus rose to the thrown of Anshan and began to show signs of independence from his
Median overlord. When Cyrus became a man Harpagus convinced him to lead the Persians to revolt
against Astyages. In 553 B.C. Astyages brought he feared horseman down south/. The Persians were
heavily outnumbered but fought savagely. When it was seen that surrender was inevitable, the women
even took the battlefield to cheer on Cyrus and the soldiers. The conflict lasted for three years but
finally Astyages lost and was captured. Harpagus supreme

The Causes And Effects Of Recidivism
With so many studies on recidivism and rehabilitation, and so few that were considered successful,
there were aspects that made many skeptical of why these programs simply did not work. Different
researchers conducted different types of research and came up with different results. Of the 231
studies that were finalized after making it through the rigorous elimination process, some researchers
seen the net widening process as the beginning of the entombed rehabilitation and recidivism.
Researchers did not coordinate their individual meaning of many terms, including recidivism and
rehabilitation. Whether it was for simply being arrested and charged, adding a new charge all together,
or taken into custody and being released. The diversity in the research would become both the
entombing and the rebirth on recidivism and rehabilitation. Researchers seem to vacillate even more
on the effects of recidivisms and rehabilitation we know very little about the recidivism effects of
various degrees of security, finding out will be compounded by the probability that these effects will
vary widely according to the type of offender that we re dealing with (Martinson, 1974). Eliminating
certain factors from the studies only skewed the results the way the researchers wanted them to be
viewed in the beginning. With each study of a successful result, there is another with a failure result.
Every program does not work on every criminal in every situation. Having many programs can be
costly,

Leo Tolstoy Three Hermits
Why would anybody follow the crowd when own rules and patterns can be made? The Three Hermits
, a short story by Leo Tolstoy, depicts an incounterance of a bishop and 3 hermits. The bishop goes to
an island where 3 hermits supposedly live to teach them about Jesus Christ and how to pray. The lord s
prayer is learned by the hermits and the bishop goes back the the boat he was previously on because
his work was completed. After the bishop got back to the boat, the 3 hermits came running across the
water like as though it were dry land. The hermit forgot what the lord s prayer taught to them and
needed to relearn it. The bishop then stated, Your own prayer will reach the Lord, men of God. It is not
for me to teach you. This meaning that spiritually is not from one prayer, but from actions, thoughts,
and self invoked prayers. The bishop wanted the hermits to know that there are no set rules and
restrictions should be followed in life, but one should set and follow their own rules. ... Show more

Life Advice from Longfellow (An Analysis of Longfellow s Psalm of Life) Buddha once said, Do not
dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment. People
sometimes look back on their lives and aren t always satisfied by what they see there. There are many
factors that must be taken into consideration to lead a happy, healthy life such as taking chances and
living for the moment. In Longfellow s Psalm of Life, he explains these factors. There are three
important messages in Longfellow s Psalm of Life. The first theme in Psalm of Life is to continuously

Literary Analysis Of Plato s The Myth Of The Cave
The writing is, overall, a dialogue which is dominated in arguments by one of those who dialogues:
Plato, who is not mentioned explicitly in the conversation taking place, however, he is the writer of the
piece, and historically known as the character that is steering the message on it. Plato develops during
the progress of the story an analogy, where he pictures slaves being only exposed to a limited reality
of shadows inside a cave, when one of them is liberated to the outside of the cavern, facing realism
and opening his comprehension, his former partners question his mental stability thinking he was
affected by what he saw after his freedom. Plato as the author of the piece, and as the character
narrating the analogy, is trying to explain the incomprehension suffered by the philosopher, putting the
philosopher as the inquisitive being who discovers reality, experiencing the disapproval of the non
philosopher world: the slaves.
The essay The Myth of the Cave by Plato is well written because of his utterly original structure
which does not follow a classic flow, because the piece flows smoothly between the conversation of
Plato and his interlocutor and the myth being narrated on Plato s parts, one does not realize this
unusual structure is implemented to deliver the message exquisitely.
The general purpose of the piece is not seen until the intermediate paragraphs when Plato says: ...The
prison house is the world of sight, the light of the fire is the sun, and you will

Self-Destruction In Stephen Crane s Untitled
There is a strain between what is good for the body and the reality of human nature. Individuals know
mistakes will occur, but they do not understand how to nurture themselves. Because of this reality,
people tear themselves apart, thinking it is the reasonable reaction. In Stephen Crane s poem, Untitled,
symbolism and religious indicators illustrate the theme of self betrayal.
Firstly, nature is typically fruitful; however, a desert is the antipode of this definition. Most plants
cannot grow in the desert climate, creating a barren, unwelcoming environment; this is where Stephen
Crane places his poem. The naked, bestial (2) creature the narrator sees is the only other living object
in this desert, representing self destruction. Innate in one s being, self destruction sucks dry a once
blossoming environment, turning oneself into a hell or purgatory like habitat. Life is difficult, yet self
destruction makes one bitter. The heart is bitter bitter, (7) says the creature. Although a typical human
wouldn t know what a heart tastes like, the fact it is described as bitter puts the reader off. Rather ...

Given the creature is self destruction, the presence of the narrator illustrates one s contentment in
giving in to the process. Using the phrase my heart (10) creates the connection between the individual
and the destruction. Without the connection, one could distance oneselves from their exterior and their
interior. One can have power over this self hatred; however, I is simply watching as the creature ruins
the core of the body. The narrator tries to appeal to the creature by calling it friend, (6) but this is not
enough for it to stop eating the heart. Instead, the individual makes small talk. In a way, this appeal
demonstrates one s offering of self care. One s heart being the fruit of one s labor; the narrator gives
up. Primal and controlled beasts become one with the last

Last Day Of High School
The last day of my Early College High School (ECHS) 2017 year, was a day I will never forget. On
the last day of school, I got to drive my dad s truck; I remember telling myself I can t wait until I get
my own car, which is something I asked for on my Christmas list to Santa. I went to classes ready to
get my last final over with. The day went by pretty fast after the test, then we went to lunch and then
we had clubs. Since my club was not allowed to go to the gym, I stayed inside with the Medical club.
In the medical club, Cody gave a long presentation on the different Affordable Care Acts (ACA)
proposal, and we got into a debate which got me ready for the break even more.
At the beginning of the break, I was excited to be out of school, I had made so many plans. I made
plans to go to Austin and go to the spray paint park, and travel to Louisiana to celebrate my niece s
first birthday, but all of my plans were ruined.
For the first week of my break, I was sick. I winded up catching both the flu and strep throat, I thought
my Christmas break would be ruined, but it wasn t. During the time that I was sick, I got to plan which
Christmas gifts to get my family members instead of waiting until the last moment, and everyone
winded up loving their gifts. Due to the fact of me being sick, I couldn t go anywhere; which meant no
chores, no being told to get out the house; I actually had time to relax. While relaxing I caught on my
Netflix shows and my sleep.

Explain How to Plan a Small Scale Campaign Essay
P3 Explain how to plan a small scale health education campaign relevant to local or national
strategies.
We first started doing our health campaign on smoking and aimed it on people that were 16 years old
and pregnant women. Smoking causes health problems such as several types of cancer which have
been broadcasted through advertising and several other campaigns warning people about the
repercussions of smoking. There have been many national health strategies to help promote the
negative impact of smoking on our health. One campaign is by the NHS called Smoke Free which is
there to help people stop smoking and give them encouragement to do so. With public health, the

For our other target audience of pregnant women, we dedicated two slides to smoking during
pregnancy and the repercussions of smoking around their new young baby. We gave them information
such as a low birth weight, smaller organs, likelihood of cot death and an increased risk of
miscarriage. After they have had their baby, we gave them other information. This information
included things such as meningitis, hearing loss, cot death, asthma and breathing problems. As well as
this, we also wanted to emphasise the mothers health and how it would effect them.
However, there were many reasons that people might think of of not wanting to stop smoking. For 16
year olds, a reason could be that they enjoy it and that their friends do it and they haven t received any
problems. Even though this is all true, it might not happen to their friends but it could happen to them.
Furthermore, they could also think that it could help them deal with the stress that they might be
experiencing due to their GCSE exams, although, we can prove that nicotine doesn t help relax but it
is instead a stimulant. For pregnant women, they could feel that they saw a relative smoke during their
pregnancy and that their baby was a healthy weight and had no health problems, but this isn t
necessarily applicable to every pregnant mother.

Many minorities and women were given the opportunity to take jobs that were left behind by men who
fought in World War II, but after the war was over, all of those opportunities that many had, vanished.
As a result of this issue, many problems started arising, and people began to be more involved.
Citizens of the United States resisted the social conformity of the 1950 s by creating organizations,
starting strikes, and attempting to put segregation to an end.
Primarily, Mexican Americans went on strike for better plumbing and sanitation. Throughout the

The Ethics Of The Law Essay
When it comes to large sums of money, it is not uncommon for the spender to feel they have been
ripped off or become over protected. The practice of law is no exception to this phenomenon, and
crocked lawyers and paralegals have negatively contributed to the notion. On several occasions law
professionals have taken client money for personal use, acting against the law and rules of
professional conduct. Although lawyers and paralegals have their own individual rules and guidelines
to abide by, they follow the same professional structure of proper conduct. The rules of conduct for
paralegals is governed by the Law Society of Upper Canada and is the governing body responsible for
reports of misconduct. Further investigations will lay out the proper procedures and tasks that must be
completed when a paralegal encounters an accusations of misconduct, specifically when a client
accuses a paralegal of misappropriating money from the clients trust fund. When it comes to possible
options it is important to remember that by proactively sending a report of the circumstance to the
Law Society of Upper Canada with a detailed list of events, bookkeeping and accounts billed to the
client will help your case prior to the client reporting you to the Law Society. Should a paralegal
choose to ignore the threat of the client, in hopes that the client will not follow through with higher
involvement, the paralegal will then face an audit by the Law Society. If the Law Society is apprised

The Killer Angels By John M. Skipper Essay
History 1301 John M. Skipper
The Killer Angels is a historic backstory of the days leading up to the Civil War. The story is told from
multiple viewpoints including Robert E. Lee, James Longstreet, George Meade, and Winfield Scott
Hancock. It is mentioned the Army of Northern Virginia is moving behind the Blue Ridge Mountains,
and that the Army of Potomac is also moving, but is traveling very slow. This is one of the
characteristics which plagued them throughout the war. Shaara gives insight to the background of both
Armies. He described the Confederates as a unified group with soldiers of the same background, while
the Union is the exact opposite. Its men are very divided soldiers fighting for unification. There is one
similarity between the two sides which stands out more than all the others; both sides are ready for the
final showdown. Shaara gives insight into this by hinting towards the conflict, yet never telling the
reader directly. This causes the reader to be drawn deeper into the story anticipating what will happen
next.
There are illustrations showing movement of the Confederate and the Union armies, an epilogue, and
an afterword stating the events after the Battle of Gettysburg. In the foreword, Sharra tells the reader
the purpose of the book is to educate the reader on the history of the battle, but also give insight into
the soldier s thoughts. Sharra also writes that out of all the historic writings about the battle, he chose

The importance of writing one s understanding of war sheds consciousness upon the cruelty,
malevolence, and death by ignorance. Reports of cruelty begins with Jarrell s recitation in his poem
Death of the Ball Turret Gunner in which he explicitly connects the death of a young soldier to that of
an aborted child. Though only 5 lines long, using metaphoric language Jarrell is able to imply that
only death can be fermented from the womb of the war. Harboring readers taunt emotions that stick to
them like wet fur . Whilst bringing the audience to a resolution set in stone that war can solely gives
the taking of life from another s child. In comparison, Hemingway transcribes of a man spat back into
a life that did not change with him instead

Machines Overcoming Humans
As one would begin to think, about how much technology we humans use daily, they realize just how
much we are in need of it. As people, look back in time over the generations to where we no
technology to whereas now almost everything you come across you can find on the internet or on a
system. When reading The Machine Stops, it shows the reader just how naïve people are to how much
technology they use. People are so use to just having it that they do not even think about how much it
consumes their lives. As I have learned, in the past couple of months just how much we humans are as
a cyborg, made me just as gullible as people are to how much technology consumes our lives. When
first thinking about the concept of us humans are as cybernetic organisms I was skeptical about the
concept and did not believe we were as cybernetic organisms. As looking to see what a cybernetic
organism is, I found they are a human who has certain biological developments assisted or controlled
by mechanical or electronic devices. When learning that was the meaning I began to think us humans
are as cybernetic organisms. My first reading on the thoughts of cyborg, was You Are Cyborg, written
by Hari Kunzru, writing to Donna Haraway who does believe we humans are cyborgs. As one reads
You Are Cyborg, who sees that Donna Haraway, is not saying that we humans are physically cyborgs
that are all mechanically made but that we are consumed by technology making us cybernetic
organisms. This concept

President Woodrow Wilson Was Not Pro War
World War I was probably history s worst catastrophe, and U.S. President Woodrow Wilson was
substantially responsible for the unintended consequences of the war. In 1916, President Wilson
narrowly won re election after campaigning on the slogan, He kept us out of war; unbeknownst to the
country, Wilson s slogan would not remain true. Although the U.S. played a significant military role
only during the last six months of the war, Wilson s great mistake of joining the war cost the United
States more causalities and money than ever necessary. However, President Woodrow Wilson was not
pro war from the start. When the war began in 1914, it was the logical decision for Wilson to keep the
United States neutral. A majority of Americans had either emigrated from Europe or had family
members that had done so. Therefore, most of these people were partial to Britain and France s (the
Allied Powers) cause. In this case, it was the wise decision for Wilson to not take sides in the war, so
as not to alienate a large number of Americans which would cause an abundance of tension and
division between the people of the U.S. Also, it was the best interest of the United States to remain
neutral so one they could continue trading with all of the European market. However, as the war went
on, Wilson sided with the British. The United States sent Britain money and ammunition throughout
WWI. Some historians believe this is a reason the U.S joined the war

Rhino Poaching And The Exotic Animal Trade
Would you change your lifestyle to save the existence of a species? In western society, it is our
lifestyle to go to the doctors when you are sick, drive to work and buy food from a grocery store. It is
hard to remember that around the globe there are different customs and ways of life. A lot of people
make the means to live by working the land, owning their own shops, fishing, and hunting animals.
Poachers in Africa make their living by hunting elephants, lions, rhinos, and other exotic animals.
Countries in Asia, like Vietnam and China, have been using rhino horn medicinally for generations.
Would they be willing to change their entire lifestyle to save the existence of a species? I analyzed an
image created by the World Wildlife Fund that addresses rhino poaching and the exotic animal trade.
There are two subjects in this image, the rhino and those within the rhino. The rhino is being captured
by people, but at the same time, its horn is already being removed. I think that this represents the huge
market for rhino horn. We are collecting as much horn as we can as fast as we can do it. This idea of
our insatiable appetite for exotic animal products is also reinforced by how the horn is being removed.
Somebody, with a chainsaw, is cutting off the horn below the base of it. This unsustainable practice
will kill the animal. If the horn was cut above the base it would grow back and the rhino could
continue on, but it is common for poachers to remove as much horn as

The Impact Of The San Francisco Earthquake Of 1906
The San Francisco Earthquake of 1906 and Recovery.
What did the people of San Francisco suffer after the earthquake of 1906? In order to answer this
question, we need to know what the San Francisco earthquake was. The San Francisco earthquake
happened in 1906 with a magnitude of 7.8 and caused a fire that burned for 7 days. This was the
biggest recorded earthquake in San Francisco. The foreshock started at 5:12am and 25 seconds later
the earthquake started that lasted 40 to 60 seconds, with most San Franciscans asleep in rooms, they
became trapped with only their hope to save them. The earthquake and fire of San Francisco in 1906
will go down as one of the worst earthquakes in the United States history. It s after affects can still be
felt in the California area.
The San Francisco earthquake caused quite a lot of damage in the area, but what is an earthquake? An
earthquake is the movement of tectonic plates along a transform boundary and what plate is California
sitting on? The Pacific Plate which is not connected to the North American plate and the plate
boundary is a transform boundary. Earthquakes occur so often there that people say it is like a
rainstorm that is ignored. The place where the Pacific Plate is grinding along with the North American
Plate is called the San Andreas Fault. As stated before the earthquake had a magnitude of 7.8 which
caused so much destruction a fire broke out. Nobody really knows where the fire started but it burned
for 7 days and scorched over 500 city blocks leaving the once proud and powerful city into dust. The
combination of the earthquake and fire is said to have killed Over 700 deaths by the earthquake and
fire is now believed to be an understatement the total loss of life by a factor of 3 or 4. (The Great 1906
San Francisco Earthquake.)
Even before the earthquake people saw suspicious things with animals. For example, Lisa A.
Chippendale in her book The San Francisco Earthquake of 1906, quoted Sergeant Cook who stated
The horses seemed skittish, frequently neighing and nervously pulling at their reins. Many people
were asleep in the time of the shock. By the first shock some shot up and tried to get their clothes on,
but their struggle was in vain, they could

How The Internet Has Become A Major Vehicle For Social...
Introduction
The Internet has become a major vehicle for social encounters in the last two decades. Through the
Internet, people can interact over greater distances in a shorter period and at less expense than in the
past. Since the evolution of the Internet, there is less face to face interaction and more communication
via text messages, emails, and online chatting. This social stigma is up for much debate on how it
relates to the progression in romantic relationships. This literature review focuses on how the Internet
is utilized as a supportive method of courting used by individuals to meet online in hopes of forming a
romantic relationship.
Counterarguments suggest that online communication expands social interaction because it connects
you to a plethora of people at a fast rate. The research of Cooper and Sportolari (1997) was
significantly useful because according to experts, the use of the Internet in romantic relationships
lowers the pressure of physical attributes, more freedom to meet someone new regardless of gender,
and allows you to develop healthy relationships with a variety of people.
Merge of the Internet and Online Dating
Online dating, or communicating with individuals via the Internet with the purpose of finding
romantic partners, constitutes a new realm in which searching for romantic partners via Internet dating
sites has become a common strategy for mate selection and thus has changed the dating process.
According to the research of Sautter, Tippett,

The Influence Of Media In Criminal Minds
Introduction: Television has become a vital aspect of daily life, within modern society; every aspect of
television exhibits, to a certain extent, a reliance on genre (Mittell, 2001). Industries rely on genre to
produce programs, and audiences use genres as a means of organizing fan practices (Mittell, 2001).
According to a 2006 Nelson Media Research study, ratings confirm that aside from prime time shows
such as American Idol and Survivor, part time crime drama s have been classified as one of the most
favoured genre (DeTardo Bora, pg. 154, 2009). The relationship between the media and criminal
justice system is delicate, where more often than not, crimes are portrayed in a false light (Graveline,
pg. 1, 2015). These misconceptions lead to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Darrin Brown, Sharon Lauricella, Aziz Douai and Arshia Zaidi composed a study focusing on the uses
and grats of the aforementioned genre as a means of better understanding the relationship between
television and its audiences (Brown, Lauricella, Douai, Zaidi, 2000). Blumber and Katz s theory on
uses and gratifications suggest that audience s choose to watch certain programs as it satisfies a
particular need; in other words, people use a program to gratify or please themselves (Who Watches
Crime Dramas and Why?, 2012). They identified four main uses and grats: entertainment and
diversion, where there is an idea of escapism; surveillance and information, where people have an
urge to become more knowledgeable in a particular area; personal identity, where there is a
comparison between the characters and audience members; and finally, personal companionship,
where audience s become involved with characters as if they were real (Who Watches Crime Dramas
and Why?, 2012). The uses and Gratification theory assumes that audiences use mass media as an
outlet for satisfying certain needs and desires (Brown, et. al, 2000). According to another group of
scholars, the gratification individuals get when using such media are both social and psychological in
nature (Brown, et. al, 2000). In

there will have a small or large research team, helping them gather the correct amount of research to
create the product. This document will help you understand the purpose of using research in the
creative media industries.
The reason you will need to use research is because it plays a major part in all aspects of creative
media production and it is the main starting point for productions of any scale. It can be used to
determine the financial outcome of any future production, it will determine the effectiveness of how
successful your business will become and it will assist with the planning and the technical ... Show

These kinds of meetings will take place in an office room and when there will be a set date and time
for this. The way this kind or research will be carried out is by setting up an application for a job role
and then waiting for the applicants to apply. Once they have applied to the role you will then need to
invite them in for an interview. You will do this type of research when you need to find an employee
or if you need to interview someone for particular information.
Doing interviews has many advantages such as they are useful to obtain detailed information about
feelings because you will be able to see how that person reacts to your questions, you are able to ask
more detailed questions, they have a high response rate and the interviewees won t be influenced by
others.
With advantages there comes disadvantages such as they are very time consuming and they can be
costly.
Surveying is also a form of primary research and it is a good way to discover what a large amount of
people think about a particular subject and you can cover a wider range. Businesses will use this
method of research. The reason they will use this method is because it is able to cover a large quantity
of people and what their views are on a particular issue. This kind of research can be created on the
computer and then

Socrates and Virtue
At the beginning of Meno Socrates and Meno are discussing what they think the true definition of
virtue is. They debate over this matter for quite some time and Meno continues to throw definitions, of
what he thinks virtue is, at Socrates. It seems like every time Meno would come up with what he
thought virtue was Socrates would shoot it down. Socrates would not come out and say this is not
right, he would merely ask him a series of questions in order for Meno to realize it on his own. One
after another Socrates continues to find problems with Meno s reasoning behind his definitions. After
the fourth attempt they finally decide they would try to start over with a clean slate in order to find out
what virtue truly is. At this point ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Socrates says that all activities done by humans depends on the soul itself, and if you are going to do
some beneficial then it involves wisdom to a certain extent. So if in order to do something beneficial
you need wisdom and they defined virtue as being something beneficial, therefore making the valid
point that virtue is wisdom, for the most part ( Sections 87e – 89b).
Virtue is what you make of it. Yes, to some extent, I agree with Socrates with virtue as wisdom, but
that is about as far as you can go with it. Really it is what you are willing to make of it in your own
life. There are good types of virtues and then there are harmful types of virtue. Now you cannot really
say that there are beneficial types of virtue and bad types of virtue. The reason behind this is because,
to some people, virtue can be beneficial in a bad way instead of the beneficial that most people first
think of. It varies from person to person. There is really no way of putting one basic definition on
virtue. Virtue encompasses so many different things, it would be nearly impossible for us to slap a
definition on it without finding a glitch or something wrong with the definition. There will always be
someone there to find a problem with it, because is that not the way our society works? Somebody
comes up with one thing, then after a while someone comes up something wrong with that idea and
proposes a new,

Priestley has cunningly and cleverly set An Inspector Calls in `1912 when there was limited welfare

The Industrial Revolution And The Public Health Revolution
Since our origin, worldwide human population has steadily been on the rise. We humans emerged as a
species about 200,000 years ago. In geological time, that is really incredibly recent. Just 10,000 years
ago, there were one million of us. By 1800, just over 200 years ago, there were 1 billion of us. By
1960, 50 years ago, there were 3 billion of us. There are now over 7 billion of us. By 2050, your
children, or your children s children, will be living on a planet with at least 9 billion other people.
During some time towards the end of this century, there will be at least 10 billion of us. We got to
where we are now through a number of civilization and society shaping events , most notably the
agricultural revolution, the scientific revolution, the industrial revolution and in the West the public
health revolution. By 1980, there were 4 billion of us on the planet. Just 10 years later, in 1990, there
were 5 billion of us. By this point initial signs of the consequences of our growth were starting to
show. Not the least of these was on water. Our demand for water not just the water we drank but the
water we needed for food production and to make all the stuff we were consuming was going through
the roof. But something was starting to happen to water. There are now more than 7 billion of us on
Earth. As our numbers continue to grow, we continue to increase our need for far more water, far more
food, far more land, far more transport and far more

How Did Winston Churchill Impact The World
Winston Churchill is perhaps known as England s most famous Prime Minister. His brief career in
office in WWII brought England through the war relatively unscathed, as well as the rest of the Allies.
His political career, while no doubt less lustrous, was no less impressive, making several radical
changes to how England operated. Many of his acts not only impacted his home country, but also the
world. Churchill was truly a great man as well as one of the best world leaders. Winston Leonard
Spencer Churchill, or Winnie, was born on November 30th, 1874. His father was Lord Randolph
Churchill, a British statesman. He had been born into a respected family, and passed down his ways of
life to Winston. Winston s mother was Jeanette Jerome, otherwise known as Jennie, a socialite from
New York. Winston grew up in Dublin, Ireland, along with his parents. For work, his father was a
secretary for his grandfather, John Spencer Churchill. Winston did poorly in school, preferring not to
follow the rules of his teachers. After leaving two schools, Winston was sent to Harrow School, a
boarding school, in April of 1888. He joined the Harrow Rifle Corps there, hoping to be a part of the
military. However, it did not turn out well at first, as Winston failed the exam to get into the British

and wellbeing, helping you to relax and find peace and tranquility. But you re also wondering what
different types of meditation there are, because you want to make an informed decision on the type of
meditation that is most suitable for you.
Breath Awareness
This is probably the easiest form of meditation, yet it can be extremely profound. All you have to do is
relax in a comfortable position (either sat upright or lying down), with your eyes either open or closed,
and just gently become aware of your breathing, without trying to change it. You can even practice

This simple but constant repetition of the sound will allow the other parts of your mind to gradually

Traditionally, meditators have used specific mantra with specific meanings, but it really doesn t matter
what you use as long as you find it comfortable to repeat. For me personally, I use the meaningless
sound oowaa , which I repeat at a constant rhythm like oowaaoowaaoowaaoowaa , and so on.
Mindfulness Meditation
This involves becoming deeply aware of what actually IS in the present moment. This can be
anything. For example, if you have your eyes open you could become totally visually aware of your
immediate surroundings, plus any sounds too. If you have your eyes closed, you could become aware
of aspects of your body, such as your breathing, your posture, your feeling of relaxation (or tension),
plus even being aware of any thoughts that may naturally arise.
Walking Meditation
This is really a form of mindfulness meditation that you do while walking. You simply become as
aware as possible of the process of walking. In fact, you can do this with any process, such as making
a cup of tea or doing the washing up. Just let the action fully fill your

Performance Evaluation Of Hybrid Air Conditioning System
In hot and humid climate where simple vapor compression system does not perform well, desiccant
based air conditioning system can do better since it is capable to overcome the bulk of moisture i.e.
latent load. However, removing the moisture from the air at the cost of sensible load, it increases due
to heating of the air. This paper represents the Performance Evaluation of Hybrid Air Conditioning
system using Indirect Evaporative Cooling Approach. The experimentation has been done with
various cycle of operation viz. ventilation, mixed, with different dessicant materials and dessicant
wheel speed. In desiccant wheel, if the regeneration temperature increases, the loads gets completely
separated, thereby performance of cooling coil improves a lot i.e. 70% to 80%. However, system
performance decreases due to increased power at higher regeneration temperature and the latent load
does not get reduced in the same proportionate. Performance of cooling coil is significantly governed
by latent load. Dehumidification is more at low humidity and it decreases with increasing regeneration
temperature. Hybrid air conditioning can be a good option when the humidity level is high.

The Dinosaurs Of The Mesozoic Era
A traditional archeological dig, facilitated by new technological advancements uncovers raptor fossils
by a team of researchers. This is how the movie Jurassic park begins. It shows almost a foreshadowing
of the events to come as the doctor looking at the technology shows weariness to the usage of the
machine to do the work they could have done by hand. Likewise, the Jurassic Park movie tells a story
of an increased scientific presence in the scientific study of the dinosaurs of the Mesozoic Era. Due to
the ardent work of dinosaur researchers, dinosaurs are brought back to life for the purpose of
education and entertainment. With this financier and developer of the program, Jeff Hammond brings
together a team of scientists, a lawyer and two of his grandchildren on an adventure to experience the
park first hand. However, due to a series of unfortunate events the parks loses functionality resulting
in their team having to physical experience survival during the time of the dinosaur. While half of the
team fights to stay alive the developer his group of survivors must find a way to rescue the visitors and
get back in control of the park. I found the movie to be more entertaining than educational. It was
more for the purposes of telling a story, which I believe was about the power that genetics has brought
humans. The story seems to warn against going too far with the use of genetic information. This, in my
opinion, is greatly exemplified by one of the last scenes in the movie.

because they had an increase in mass production which ultimately changed the face of the United
States of America from being a rural society into being an urban society. Family relations started to

dedicated to career and family. All in all, the second industrial revolution was essentially a positive

Heteronormativity In Giovanni s Room
In the life alternating novel Giovanni s Room A group of men faces the long path of sexuality, in a
society that is not so gracious towards homosexuality. They live in a society/ culture that bows down
to heteronormativity, where you hide in allies and rooms to love whom sexes should love. The book
takes place in the 1950 s, which means if a man didn t meet up to society standards they were treated
as trash. Thus creating not only a clash in love, but also a clash in class rankings. Heteronormativity
and class inequalities where ultimately what lead up to Giovanni s tragic fate at the end of the novel.
Firstly, this paper will explain the concept of heteronormativity which lead to Giovanni s unfortunate

Right around the time he met Giovanni David was older and straighter than ever, at least he thought.
David and Giovanni fell madly in love, but David pushed Giovanni away. David was so ashamed with
himself he never really gave him all to Giovanni. You have never really been here. I do think you ve
never lied but I know you ve never told me the truth why? (G137) . David internalizing
heteronormativity caused him to break Giovanni s heart and ultimately his own. You want to leave
Giovanni because he makes you stink. You want to despite Giovanni because he s not afraid of the
stink of love. You want to kill him in the name of all your lying little moralities. (G141) . David Knew
Giovanni was afraid to be who he is and that scared David. Eventually scaring him enough to leave

  • 2. Can A Party Use The Work Product Of Protect Trial Exhibits... ISSUE I. Can a party use the work product doctrine to protect trial exhibits at a pretrial conference? BRIEF ANSWER I. Likely no. While a court may be able to protect trial exhibits, it likely cannot do so under the work product doctrine. DICUSSION While, pretrial conference rules likely do not mandate that courts must allow opposing parties to see each others trial exhibits, the use of the work product doctrine in this case was likely incorrectly applied. The Kansas statutes provide for pretrial conferences, but do not provide much in the way of detail for what should occur in these conferences. Kan. Stat. Ann. § 60 216 (2014). The Supreme Court Rules go into further detail, providing that at the pretrial conference parties inform the court and opposing parties of all exhibits parties intend to use at the trial along with several other procedural steps. KS R DIST CT Rule 140. However, the rule does provide that the conferences must be conducted substantially in conformity with the listed procedural steps and so not every step must be completed to satisfy the rule. Id. District courts have broad discretionary powers under K.S.A. 60 216 and so district courts have the ability to guide the pretrial conference process as they see fit. Boyle v. Harries, 22 Kan. App. 2d 686, 690 (1996). It is largely unclear what standard the Court of Appeals would use for an appeal on this issue. If his madness isn t real, and he is feigning it, it opens up the idea that he is using his madness as a distraction in order to divert attention from his true actions of killing Claudius. In The Lion King, Simba doesn t have any of his own madness, but his friends Timone and Pumba supply him with some of their own. Timone and Pumba are Hamlet s madness, but instead of Simba being mad himself, it is projected onto others. It isn t until he decides to act mad that he can finally push past his father s death. If his madness truly was an act then his mind was busy thinking up his unique sentence that confused those around him. In The Lion King the death of Mufasa occurs in the story. After Simba escapes his own death after witnessing his father s, he finds the madness much faster. When he finds Timone and Pumba they immediately attempt to change his way of thinking by telling Simba Hakuna Matata, (Allers Minkoff, 43). Once Timone and Pumba introduce Hakuna Matata to him, he is freed of his past he is no longer concerned about where he came from, but instead only with what is coming. As Timone put it You got to put your past behind you. (43). If Simba could push past his father s death, he could make it through anything. The madness brought peace to both characters, it helped them move on with their lives. Without the madness they may have met an early demise. In The Lion King, Simba runs away after his uncle tries to have him killed. After that he just doesn t want to go on, his dad had just died, and he believed it was his fault. The more reliable Herodotus said Cyrus was of partly Median and that a Median king Astyages, overlord of the Persians, gave his daughter Mandane to his Persian serf Cambyses, rather than one of his Medes that were held in high prestige. Herodotus said he kept on having dreams like this and when he heard Cyrus was born ordered one of his officers Harpagus to kill the child. Other accounts say he had dreams that Cyrus would one day overthrow him and that s why he ordered him killed. Harpagus didn t have the heart to kill the child and then hid him in the mountains with herdsmen, who agreed to take care of him. The Causes And Effects Of Recidivism With so many studies on recidivism and rehabilitation, and so few that were considered successful, there were aspects that made many skeptical of why these programs simply did not work. Different researchers conducted different types of research and came up with different results. Of the 231 studies that were finalized after making it through the rigorous elimination process, some researchers seen the net widening process as the beginning of the entombed rehabilitation and recidivism. Researchers did not coordinate their individual meaning of many terms, including recidivism and rehabilitation. Whether it was for simply being arrested and charged, adding a new charge all together, or taken into custody and being released. The diversity in the research would become both the entombing and the rebirth on recidivism and rehabilitation. Researchers seem to vacillate even more on the effects of recidivisms and rehabilitation we know very little about the recidivism effects of various degrees of security, finding out will be compounded by the probability that these effects will vary widely according to the type of offender that we re dealing with (Martinson, 1974). Eliminating certain factors from the studies only skewed the results the way the researchers wanted them to be viewed in the beginning. • 10. Literary Analysis Of Plato s The Myth Of The Cave The writing is, overall, a dialogue which is dominated in arguments by one of those who dialogues: Plato, who is not mentioned explicitly in the conversation taking place, however, he is the writer of the piece, and historically known as the character that is steering the message on it. Plato develops during the progress of the story an analogy, where he pictures slaves being only exposed to a limited reality of shadows inside a cave, when one of them is liberated to the outside of the cavern, facing realism and opening his comprehension, his former partners question his mental stability thinking he was affected by what he saw after his freedom. Plato as the author of the piece, and as the character narrating the analogy, is trying to explain the incomprehension suffered by the philosopher, putting the philosopher as the inquisitive being who discovers reality, experiencing the disapproval of the non philosopher world: the slaves. The essay The Myth of the Cave by Plato is well written because of his utterly original structure which does not follow a classic flow, because the piece flows smoothly between the conversation of Plato and his interlocutor and the myth being narrated on Plato s parts, one does not realize this unusual structure is implemented to deliver the message exquisitely. The general purpose of the piece is not seen until the intermediate paragraphs when Plato says: ...The prison house is the world of sight, the light of the fire is the sun, and you will ... • 11. Self-Destruction In Stephen Crane s Untitled There is a strain between what is good for the body and the reality of human nature. Individuals know mistakes will occur, but they do not understand how to nurture themselves. Because of this reality, people tear themselves apart, thinking it is the reasonable reaction. In Stephen Crane s poem, Untitled, symbolism and religious indicators illustrate the theme of self betrayal. Firstly, nature is typically fruitful; however, a desert is the antipode of this definition. Most plants cannot grow in the desert climate, creating a barren, unwelcoming environment; this is where Stephen Crane places his poem. The naked, bestial (2) creature the narrator sees is the only other living object in this desert, representing self destruction. Innate in one s being, self destruction sucks dry a once blossoming environment, turning oneself into a hell or purgatory like habitat. Life is difficult, yet self destruction makes one bitter. The heart is bitter bitter, (7) says the creature. Although a typical human wouldn t know what a heart tastes like, the fact it is described as bitter puts the reader off. Rather ... Using the phrase my heart (10) creates the connection between the individual and the destruction. Without the connection, one could distance oneselves from their exterior and their interior. One can have power over this self hatred; however, I is simply watching as the creature ruins the core of the body. The narrator tries to appeal to the creature by calling it friend, (6) but this is not enough for it to stop eating the heart. Instead, the individual makes small talk. In a way, this appeal demonstrates one s offering of self care. One s heart being the fruit of one s labor; the narrator gives up. Primal and controlled beasts become one with the last ... • 12. Last Day Of High School The last day of my Early College High School (ECHS) 2017 year, was a day I will never forget. On the last day of school, I got to drive my dad s truck; I remember telling myself I can t wait until I get my own car, which is something I asked for on my Christmas list to Santa. I went to classes ready to get my last final over with. The day went by pretty fast after the test, then we went to lunch and then we had clubs. Since my club was not allowed to go to the gym, I stayed inside with the Medical club. In the medical club, Cody gave a long presentation on the different Affordable Care Acts (ACA) proposal, and we got into a debate which got me ready for the break even more. At the beginning of the break, I was excited to be out of school, I had made so many plans. I made plans to go to Austin and go to the spray paint park, and travel to Louisiana to celebrate my niece s first birthday, but all of my plans were ruined. This information included things such as meningitis, hearing loss, cot death, asthma and breathing problems. As well as this, we also wanted to emphasise the mothers health and how it would effect them. However, there were many reasons that people might think of of not wanting to stop smoking. For 16 year olds, a reason could be that they enjoy it and that their friends do it and they haven t received any problems. Even though this is all true, it might not happen to their friends but it could happen to them. Furthermore, they could also think that it could help them deal with the stress that they might be experiencing due to their GCSE exams, although, we can prove that nicotine doesn t help relax but it is instead a stimulant. • 15. The Ethics Of The Law Essay When it comes to large sums of money, it is not uncommon for the spender to feel they have been ripped off or become over protected. The practice of law is no exception to this phenomenon, and crocked lawyers and paralegals have negatively contributed to the notion. On several occasions law professionals have taken client money for personal use, acting against the law and rules of professional conduct. Although lawyers and paralegals have their own individual rules and guidelines to abide by, they follow the same professional structure of proper conduct. The rules of conduct for paralegals is governed by the Law Society of Upper Canada and is the governing body responsible for reports of misconduct. Further investigations will lay out the proper procedures and tasks that must be completed when a paralegal encounters an accusations of misconduct, specifically when a client accuses a paralegal of misappropriating money from the clients trust fund. When it comes to possible options it is important to remember that by proactively sending a report of the circumstance to the Law Society of Upper Canada with a detailed list of events, bookkeeping and accounts billed to the client will help your case prior to the client reporting you to the Law Society. The story is told from multiple viewpoints including Robert E. Lee, James Longstreet, George Meade, and Winfield Scott Hancock. It is mentioned the Army of Northern Virginia is moving behind the Blue Ridge Mountains, and that the Army of Potomac is also moving, but is traveling very slow. This is one of the characteristics which plagued them throughout the war. Shaara gives insight to the background of both Armies. He described the Confederates as a unified group with soldiers of the same background, while the Union is the exact opposite. Its men are very divided soldiers fighting for unification. There is one similarity between the two sides which stands out more than all the others; both sides are ready for the final showdown. Shaara gives insight into this by hinting towards the conflict, yet never telling the reader directly. This causes the reader to be drawn deeper into the story anticipating what will happen next. There are illustrations showing movement of the Confederate and the Union armies, an epilogue, and an afterword stating the events after the Battle of Gettysburg. • 24. President Woodrow Wilson Was Not Pro War World War I was probably history s worst catastrophe, and U.S. President Woodrow Wilson was substantially responsible for the unintended consequences of the war. In 1916, President Wilson narrowly won re election after campaigning on the slogan, He kept us out of war; unbeknownst to the country, Wilson s slogan would not remain true. Although the U.S. played a significant military role only during the last six months of the war, Wilson s great mistake of joining the war cost the United States more causalities and money than ever necessary. However, President Woodrow Wilson was not pro war from the start. When the war began in 1914, it was the logical decision for Wilson to keep the United States neutral. A majority of Americans had either emigrated from Europe or had family members that had done so. Therefore, most of these people were partial to Britain and France s (the Allied Powers) cause. In this case, it was the wise decision for Wilson to not take sides in the war, so as not to alienate a large number of Americans which would cause an abundance of tension and division between the people of the U.S. Also, it was the best interest of the United States to remain neutral so one they could continue trading with all of the European market. However, as the war went on, Wilson sided with the British. The United States sent Britain money and ammunition throughout WWI. Some historians believe this is a reason the U.S joined the war ... Poachers in Africa make their living by hunting elephants, lions, rhinos, and other exotic animals. Countries in Asia, like Vietnam and China, have been using rhino horn medicinally for generations. Would they be willing to change their entire lifestyle to save the existence of a species? I analyzed an image created by the World Wildlife Fund that addresses rhino poaching and the exotic animal trade. There are two subjects in this image, the rhino and those within the rhino. The rhino is being captured by people, but at the same time, its horn is already being removed. I think that this represents the huge market for rhino horn. We are collecting as much horn as we can as fast as we can do it. This idea of our insatiable appetite for exotic animal products is also reinforced by how the horn is being removed. Somebody, with a chainsaw, is cutting off the horn below the base of it. This unsustainable practice will kill the animal. If the horn was cut above the base it would grow back and the rhino could continue on, but it is common for poachers to remove as much horn as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Blumber and Katz s theory on uses and gratifications suggest that audience s choose to watch certain programs as it satisfies a particular need; in other words, people use a program to gratify or please themselves (Who Watches Crime Dramas and Why?, 2012). They identified four main uses and grats: entertainment and diversion, where there is an idea of escapism; surveillance and information, where people have an urge to become more knowledgeable in a particular area; personal identity, where there is a comparison between the characters and audience members; and finally, personal companionship, where audience s become involved with characters as if they were real (Who Watches Crime Dramas and Why?, 2012). This can happen in the situation where ion channels embedded in the support of the tethered bilayer membranes. This always attached with the electrode that is of gold, as a result, the electrical circle comes into existence. The molecules that are being captured for example antibodies to control the flow of the ion and this binds the target molecule, this control on the flow is through a channel. As a result of the electrical conduction which is proportional to the target that was being set before the experiment? Reagentless fluorescent biosensor: A reagents fiber optic sensor for bio sensing in the complex situation of the biological mixture can monitor the analyte. If this is immobilized on the solid support then this can function properly. This fiber optic sensor for biosensors reacts in the situation of interaction with the analyte that was targeted with the change of the properties of the fluorescence. After that, the targeted sequence will be base paired by the hybridization probes and this will generate an optical signal. The principle of transduction which is favored employed has optical detection in this kind of biological sensor. The measurement of this interaction is through the bio transducer which gives a signal that is measurable and is proportional to the sample which is in the presence of the analyte that is targeted. The purpose behind the design of Fiber Optic Sensor for biosensing is to create a quick testing that is convenient to the point of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. The Industrial Revolution And The Public Health Revolution Since our origin, worldwide human population has steadily been on the rise. We humans emerged as a species about 200,000 years ago. In geological time, that is really incredibly recent. Just 10,000 years ago, there were one million of us. By 1800, just over 200 years ago, there were 1 billion of us. By 1960, 50 years ago, there were 3 billion of us. There are now over 7 billion of us. By 2050, your children, or your children s children, will be living on a planet with at least 9 billion other people. During some time towards the end of this century, there will be at least 10 billion of us. We got to where we are now through a number of civilization and society shaping events , most notably the agricultural revolution, the scientific revolution, the industrial revolution and in the West the public health revolution. By 1980, there were 4 billion of us on the planet. Just 10 years later, in 1990, there were 5 billion of us. By this point initial signs of the consequences of our growth were starting to show. Not the least of these was on water. Our demand for water not just the water we drank but the water we needed for food production and to make all the stuff we were consuming was going through the roof. But something was starting to happen to water. There are now more than 7 billion of us on Earth. As our numbers continue to grow, we continue to increase our need for far more water, far more food, far more land, far more transport and far more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. How Did Winston Churchill Impact The World Winston Churchill is perhaps known as England s most famous Prime Minister. His brief career in office in WWII brought England through the war relatively unscathed, as well as the rest of the Allies. His political career, while no doubt less lustrous, was no less impressive, making several radical changes to how England operated. Many of his acts not only impacted his home country, but also the world. Churchill was truly a great man as well as one of the best world leaders. Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill, or Winnie, was born on November 30th, 1874. His father was Lord Randolph Churchill, a British statesman. He had been born into a respected family, and passed down his ways of life to Winston. Winston s mother was Jeanette Jerome, otherwise known as Jennie, a socialite from New York. Winston grew up in Dublin, Ireland, along with his parents. For work, his father was a secretary for his grandfather, John Spencer Churchill. Winston did poorly in school, preferring not to follow the rules of his teachers. After leaving two schools, Winston was sent to Harrow School, a boarding school, in April of 1888. He joined the Harrow Rifle Corps there, hoping to be a part of the military. However, it did not turn out well at first, as Winston failed the exam to get into the British Royal Military College twice. He eventually ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 38. Mindfulness Meditation Research Papers Okay, so you ve heard about meditation, and you ve heard that it can be very beneficial to your health and wellbeing, helping you to relax and find peace and tranquility. But you re also wondering what different types of meditation there are, because you want to make an informed decision on the type of meditation that is most suitable for you. Breath Awareness This is probably the easiest form of meditation, yet it can be extremely profound. All you have to do is relax in a comfortable position (either sat upright or lying down), with your eyes either open or closed, and just gently become aware of your breathing, without trying to change it. You can even practice this throughout your day, for example while sat at your desk at work. It can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This simple but constant repetition of the sound will allow the other parts of your mind to gradually settle down, until eventually you become extremely relaxed, both physically and mentally. Traditionally, meditators have used specific mantra with specific meanings, but it really doesn t matter what you use as long as you find it comfortable to repeat. For me personally, I use the meaningless sound oowaa , which I repeat at a constant rhythm like oowaaoowaaoowaaoowaa , and so on. Mindfulness Meditation This involves becoming deeply aware of what actually IS in the present moment. This can be anything. For example, if you have your eyes open you could become totally visually aware of your immediate surroundings, plus any sounds too. If you have your eyes closed, you could become aware of aspects of your body, such as your breathing, your posture, your feeling of relaxation (or tension), plus even being aware of any thoughts that may naturally arise. Walking Meditation This is really a form of mindfulness meditation that you do while walking. You simply become as aware as possible of the process of walking. In fact, you can do this with any process, such as making a cup of tea or doing the washing up. Just let the action fully fill your ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Performance Evaluation Of Hybrid Air Conditioning System In hot and humid climate where simple vapor compression system does not perform well, desiccant based air conditioning system can do better since it is capable to overcome the bulk of moisture i.e. latent load. However, removing the moisture from the air at the cost of sensible load, it increases due to heating of the air. This paper represents the Performance Evaluation of Hybrid Air Conditioning system using Indirect Evaporative Cooling Approach. The experimentation has been done with various cycle of operation viz. ventilation, mixed, with different dessicant materials and dessicant wheel speed. In desiccant wheel, if the regeneration temperature increases, the loads gets completely separated, thereby performance of cooling coil improves a lot i.e. 70% to 80%. However, system performance decreases due to increased power at higher regeneration temperature and the latent load does not get reduced in the same proportionate. Performance of cooling coil is significantly governed by latent load. Dehumidification is more at low humidity and it decreases with increasing regeneration temperature. Hybrid air conditioning can be a good option when the humidity level is high. Index Terms Evaporative cooling, humidifier, air conditioining I. INTRODUCTION The indirect evaporative cooling works on the principle that when water evaporates it carries out the heat. The heat is exchange on the set of polymer plates called as cross flow heat exchanger. An indirect evaporative cooler ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. The Dinosaurs Of The Mesozoic Era A traditional archeological dig, facilitated by new technological advancements uncovers raptor fossils by a team of researchers. This is how the movie Jurassic park begins. It shows almost a foreshadowing of the events to come as the doctor looking at the technology shows weariness to the usage of the machine to do the work they could have done by hand. Likewise, the Jurassic Park movie tells a story of an increased scientific presence in the scientific study of the dinosaurs of the Mesozoic Era. Due to the ardent work of dinosaur researchers, dinosaurs are brought back to life for the purpose of education and entertainment. With this financier and developer of the program, Jeff Hammond brings together a team of scientists, a lawyer and two of his grandchildren on an adventure to experience the park first hand. However, due to a series of unfortunate events the parks loses functionality resulting in their team having to physical experience survival during the time of the dinosaur. While half of the team fights to stay alive the developer his group of survivors must find a way to rescue the visitors and get back in control of the park. I found the movie to be more entertaining than educational. It was more for the purposes of telling a story, which I believe was about the power that genetics has brought humans. The story seems to warn against going too far with the use of genetic information. This, in my opinion, is greatly exemplified by one of the last scenes in the movie. ... • 41. The Major Effects Of The Second Industrial Revolution The second industrial revolution was the change of our world even though many people moved from rural homes into cities because they can t get accepted in jobs and it started in the 1870 1944 after the civil war because during this time, many advances in technology and factories made it easier and quicker for farmers and manufactures to produce more goods and products to be sold. There was also one major effect that caused the second industrial revolution which was immigration and this had many benefits such as the beginning of new ideas, innovations, and inventions because many people were coming from different civilization around the world with creativity to America. As the growth of industrial development increased so did the accumulation of massive industries and corporations . This had changed The United States of America into being urbanized instead of being a rural area. Then many businessmen like Andrew Carnegie, John D Rockefeller, and Cornelius Vanderbilt had big industrial tycoons which had a massive benefit for them and for their society because they had an increase in mass production which ultimately changed the face of the United States of America from being a rural society into being an urban society. Family relations started to weaken during the second revolution in America and New England because with new employment opportunities for women, men and children in New England and America, families had the ability to become free or separate from each other, move away, or have an employment in which their gender or age might not have otherwise allowed today. In short, the Industrial Revolution in early America created a standard of hard work, individuality, and in some cases, an equal amount of importance dedicated to career and family. All in all, the second industrial revolution was essentially a positive thing because many benefits came out of it such as new ideas, innovations, and inventions. Every new thing they had discovered led to a newer discovery. This is why we have all of the advances in technology, machinery, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They live in a society/ culture that bows down to heteronormativity, where you hide in allies and rooms to love whom sexes should love. The book takes place in the 1950 s, which means if a man didn t meet up to society standards they were treated as trash. Thus creating not only a clash in love, but also a clash in class rankings. Heteronormativity and class inequalities where ultimately what lead up to Giovanni s tragic fate at the end of the novel. Firstly, this paper will explain the concept of heteronormativity which lead to Giovanni s unfortunate death.
