The horror genre, is currently seventh top genre, in films. Currently Comedy is still top and has made
more 1402 more movies than horror suggesting, that horror is not as popular as comedy is but
suggests that is has more dedicated fans and watch the movie because of the plot and thrill rather than
go see a movie that includes a topless A* celebrity.
In this table, it shows that “Jaws” is the top horror film in 2011, and that distributor is
Universal, going through the list it shows the this distributor is not very popular with
films but does well, when they do while companies such as „Sony Pictures‟ are
slightly better with a place at 18 with the “The grudge”.
Hammer Film Studios

In the 1955=1959, Hammer film studio first
started to experiment with horror. When
“Frankenstein” was released in 1957, along
with “Horror of Dracula” which was
released in 1958. Though Hammer Film
studios was first founded in 1934, it
continues it wide stretch of films such as
„The woman in Black‟ which is due to be
released in theatre, February 10th 2012.

Hammer Film Studios also made a deal with
Overture films and relativity media to
produce „Let me in‟ a remake of Swedish
film „Let the right one in‟, let me in grossed
around 5 million in USA, and 5000 in UL.
