Inform Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of an "Inform Essay" presents a unique set of challenges that
requires a delicate balance between providing factual information and engaging the reader. The
difficulty arises from the need to thoroughly research the chosen subject matter, ensuring
accuracy and relevance, while also presenting the information in a coherent and compelling
manner.
One of the challenges lies in striking the right tone – informative yet not overly dry. It's
crucial to convey the facts in a way that captivates the reader's attention, making them eager to
learn more. This demands a skillful blend of clear exposition and a touch of creativity to
transform potentially mundane information into an engaging narrative.
Additionally, the writer must navigate the vast sea of information available, carefully selecting
the most pertinent details to include in the essay. This process can be time-consuming, requiring
meticulous research to ensure the accuracy and credibility of the content.
The structural aspect adds another layer of complexity. Organizing the information logically,
maintaining a smooth flow, and creating a seamless transition between paragraphs can be
challenging. The essay needs to be cohesive, with each section building upon the previous one to
form a comprehensive and comprehensible whole.
Furthermore, the challenge of avoiding bias is omnipresent. Objectivity is paramount in an
informative essay, necessitating a careful examination of various perspectives and the
presentation of a balanced view.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of an "Inform Essay" involves navigating through a
labyrinth of research, balancing information and engagement, and ensuring a seamless structure.
It demands a writer's finesse to present factual content in a captivating manner, making the
process both intellectually stimulating and demanding.
If the intricacies of tackling such essays prove daunting, there are alternative avenues to explore.

National Low Income Housing Of African Americans
This all seems great, a savior program that allows people who cannot afford to pay
rent normally. Section 8 is utilized by the elderly, disabled, and families with and
without children but is it really a golden program? Stated above, section 8 provides
for vouchers for all types of apartments and even condos in certain states; however,
are these opportunities open to all races? 41.6 percent of African Americans are on
housing assistance programs, as in this county s displaced history on minorities, the
voucher program produces elements that affect minorities. Although African
Americans make up the overall higher percentage when it comes to housing
assistance programs, according to National Low Income Housing Coalition,
surprisingly Caucasians make up 49 percent of the project based section 8. Yet,
National Low Income Housing Coalition mentions that African Americans as of 2010
shows that black and Hispanic public housing residents are four times more likely
than their Caucasian counterparts public housing residents to live in high poverty
neighborhoods. Black and Hispanic voucher recipients are about three times as likely
as their white counterparts to live in high poverty neighborhoods. Analyzing this
data; furthermore, as of 2010, 28 percent of white voucher recipients live in the
lowest poverty neighborhoods! Reviewing this data Caucasians obtains overall
nationwide more voucher approvals that African Americans living in the highest of
poverty neighborhoods and that comes
Actor, Will Rogers, Succeeded in Silent Films and Talkies...
The 1930s were known for many things, one of the biggest being the movement
from silent films to talkies which is what the first films with script and other sound
effects were called. When film was first being produced everything had to be acted
out with no sound, meaning there was no music, talking, laugh track, nothing. While
there were people who excelled at acting in silent films, not many were able to make
the transition to talkies easily. However the ones who did, flourished. One such star
was Will Rogers. He was a ranch hand, rodeo rider, vaudeville performer, film star,
columnist and author, radio personality, pioneer of aviation, tireless master of
ceremonies, friend to presidents, and unofficial ambassador of good will under...

As Interest Fades in the Humanities, Colleges Worry: Reaction to Lewin, Tamar
Tamar Lewin, a national reporter for The New York Times, in her article titled, As
Interest Fades in the Humanities, Colleges Worry, which was posted on October 30,
2013, sheds light on the fading interest in the humanities amongst student. This is
especially true for those belonging to Stanford University. Many scholars alongside
Lewin, are now asking why this trend is occurring. As stated in the article, Stanford is
known for its reputation in technology, and as years pass, students are beginning to
transition from the humanities to majors belonging in the sciences. She fears that this
will in time mark the end of subjects such as history, philosophy, foreign languages,
and a plethora of subjects that belong to the humanities, leading to student that lack
critical thinking skills. Computer science for example, is currently a widely favored
major amongst students. Currently it is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
More and more sciences are dominating society, and slowly pushing the humanities
away. In schools, you often here students speak about how this major is harder or
softer than the other, and the ones that are almost classified as being soft are those
belonging to the humanities. This in my opinion, is the effect, of the shifting trend
that is taking place. Even instructors in the institution are now prompting students
away from the humanities, and encouraging them towards science, which is not
necessarily an evil deed, but is aiding in the decline of the humanities as a whole.
This to me is causing students to lack the ability to think logically and critically in
this technological/science ruled
Research Paper On Beshparmak
The meal that I am going to source is Beshparmak, which, according to my Food
Journal, I had on the 31st of January at my aunt s house. The Beshparmak is a
traditional Kazakh cuisine, which is usually served at any kind of celebration. The
direct translation of word Beshparmak means five fingers , because the dish is
traditionally eaten barehanded.
The main components of the meal are noodles, meat, sauce (onion and broth), and
some optional ingredients like potato. The meat is slowly cooked for
approximately 2.5 hours, so that it would not be tough. It is taken from the
resulting broth. Couple of eggs, 500 grams of flour, and 200 300 grams of water are
mixed into the dough, which later is rolled into circle shaped noodles and prepared in

My family members prefer local livestock from ancestral aul/villages to imported
ones. For instance, our family has a livestock in the home village of my
grandparents, where horses, cows and lambs are taken care by the local bigger
farmers as part of their stock, while monthly payment is given to those farmers for
their service. However, the possibility of having personal livestock rather than
buying from supermarkets from big industrial companies is costly, since not
everyone can allow themselves to maintain livestock in the country side. In the
villages, animals are freely grazing or given hay, while horses are able to tebenevat ,
which means that they are capable of finding food under the snow during the winter
season. The fact that animals are kept in good environmental conditions, and are fed
by natural resources, contributes to the quality of the meat. Since my family
maintains some private livestock, from which horse served in Beshparmak was taken
from. It was slaughtered in the autumn: some parts like kazy/horse sausage was
marinated and preserved by salt for the winter, while others preserved in the freezer

Social Justice Activism
Social Justice and Activism
Social justice is as general and functional fair distribution of natural laws that favor
all person, such laws must ignore the basis of gender, sexuality, religion, political
affiliations, age, race, belief, disability, location, social class, socioeconomic
circumstances, or other characteristic of background or group membership
(Toowoomba Catholic Education). Social Justice represents the sense of fairness
based on each person s idea of justice. Hence, the movements around it can more
vapid while other can create a havoc in society.

One of those small revolutions is by the Wasichu Aaron Huey. He lived in a native
American community to comprehend the injustice these people are living. As he
opens his TedTalk he said We are at a private school in the American West, sitting
in red velvet chairs with money in our pockets. And if we look at our lives, we
have indeed taken the best part of the meat. He compared the people who were
listening to him to the native Americans and their struggle. By placing himself as a
representative of this people which most likely will never be heard by people the
same social standards as those in the audience his doing a social justice act.
Another small, but impactful act of social activism is by Deborah Tannen, in her
article Bossy is more than a word to women she brings the interest of people to a
specific word that is affecting a social group. One of the sections in her work reads
That s why bossy is not just a word but a frame of mind. Let s agree to stop sending
girls and women the message that they ll be disliked or worse if they exercise
authority. Although, the magnitude of both scenarios is kind of different (as one
deals with the social infrastructure of a whole social group which has been affected
to the point of death and the other one targets a word, both are attacking an injustice
evenly.) In both cases, Deborah and Aaron comprehended that a social group was
being targeted and they both took it upon themselves to study, live and comprehend
the groups. Those examples clearly demonstrate how different a social issue can be
a target, people that act based on what they believe is correct are indeed social justice
Reaction Paper On Gels
1. Introduction
1.1.Gels
1.1.1. Definition
The word gel is derived from gelatin and can be traced back to the Latin gelu for frost
and gelare, meaning freeze or congeal . (1)
According to the U. S. Pharmacopeia (USP), gels are defined as semisolid systems
consisting of either suspensions made up of small inorganic particles or large organic
molecules interpenetrated by a liquid . (2)
Gels are also defined as two component semi rigid systems in which the liquid
continuous phase is immobilized by a cross linked three dimensional network
consisting of particles or solvated macromolecules in the disperse phase. (2,3) This
disperse phase can be constituted by inorganic particles or organic macromolecules,
primarily polymers. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This process is referred to as swelling. This phenomenon occurs as the solvent
penetrates the matrix. Gel gel interactions are replaced by gel solvent interactions.
The degree of swelling depends on the number of linkages between individual
molecules of gelling agent and on the strength of these linkages7, 8. B) Syneresis
Many gels often contract spontaneously on standing and exude some fluid medium.
This effect is known as syneresis. The degree to which syneresis occurs, increases
as the concentration of gelling agent decreases. The occurrence of syneresis
indicates that the original gel was thermodynamically unstable. The mechanism of
contraction has been related to the relaxation of elastic stress developed during the
setting of the gels. As these stresses are relieved, the interstitial space available for
the solvent is reduced, forcing the liquid out. C) Ageing Colloidal systems usually
exhibit slow spontaneous aggregation. This process is referred to as ageing. In gels,
ageing results in gradual formation of a denser network of the gelling agent. D)
Structure The rigidity of a gel arises from the presence of a network formed by the
interlinking of particles of the gelling agents. The nature of the particle and the stress,
straightening them out and lessening the resistance to
Reflection Book In A Bag Reflection
Book in a Bag Reflection The first grade classroom at Putnam Elementary School
that I am placed at is currently focused on a fairytales unit. The students had
previously discussed the story elements of a fairytale which correlates with the
standard RL1.3. This standard states: Describe characters, settings, and major events
in a story using key details. My teacher referred to key details as story elements for
this lesson. The students had also read Cinderellatwo days previous to my activity.
The book I worked with is called Cinderquaker by Mike Thaler. This is a spin off
story to Cinderella where the characters are various birds. This activity served

An unexpected element of their literacy development was evident when a student
pointed out that I forgot to put a period on the end of one of my sentence examples.
This is a high focus in a classroom as well as capitalizing the first letter in a
sentence. This was not the focus of my project but shows the students are
successfully developing in this area because they are noticing it in other content
areas. I fluently read the story stopping to make sure students pointed their story
element. I would use inflection when I reached story element like Fairy Mom to
emphasis the key words. This was important to the reading because not all the
elements were exactly the same as most story, for example fairy godmother was
called fairy mom and instead of once upon a time it reads Once there was a little
duck . These slight changes in word choice made it difficult for the students to pick
up on the elements. For the next time, I would consider explaining this to the
students before hand so that they know the exact key words to be looking for. The
main skill I focused on was vocabulary specifically story elements of fairytales. I
printed out the student s the element they were to look with a picture so that they
could see the words and how it is spelled while also relating it to the picture. Before
I began to read, I had the students explain to me what

Sept. 13, 1768 with troops about to arrive, the people of Boston gathered in Town
Meeting and declared that the keeping of a standing army amongst them without
their consent in person or by Representatives of their own free election, would be
an infringement of their natural, constitutional and Charter Rights; and the
employing such Army for the enforcing of Laws made without the consent of the
people, in Person, or by their representatives would be a grievance. (p45) The
Bostonians, by restraining their anger and offering no open affront to the troops,
were able to win universal sympathy and to make the whole policy of employing
troops against them seem as ridiculous as it was odious. In fact, such a calm
prevailed that no real use could be found for the troops at all. March 5, 1770 Boston

script has made use of words that resonate with the feeling of class. This is a movie

The Pros And Cons Of Counterfeiting
If you have ever traveled to another country, you have probably seen vendors on the
sidewalks or streets, selling designer brand goods at a really cheap price. You may
have even purchased something from them. The fashion industry is a 1.2 trillion
dollar global industry and employs 1.9 million people in the United States alone
(Maloney, 2015). There is one market that is proving to be detrimental to this
powerhouse industry. The black market of fashion, which produces counterfeitgoods
that are being sold at a fraction of the price of the originals.
Whatever the reason a consumer has for purchasing a counterfeit product, that sale
will still influence the global economy. Counterfeiting leads to huge losses for not
only the industry, but also a loss of tax revenue for governments. It is estimated
that counterfeiting consists of 5% to 7% of world trade and produces profits of
over 650 billion dollars annually ( Challenges of Selling , 2008). Not only does
counterfeiting steal profits from legitimate retailers, but it also causes loss of jobs,
other, more violent crimes, supports child labor, and puts consumers health at risk
(Bell, 2016). Since most illegal counterfeiting operations are run by organized crime
rings, no taxes are paid, and the profits from selling these goods are often used to
support other crimes such as drug and human trafficking, money laundering and even
terrorism. Counterfeit sales in the United States have been directly related to the

Analysis Of Qantas Collaborative Strategy
TOPIC 1:
QANTAS COLLABORATIVE STRATEGY
In today s highly competitive business environment, companies must continually
seek out initiatives that will bring about competitive advantage, which occurs when
a firm implements a strategy that is costly or impossible for their competitors to
duplicate (HANSON HITT IRELAND HOSKISSON TB). An approach that has
been rising in popularity for resource based firms in the past two decades (KALE
SINGH) is cooperative strategy, whereby two or more firms work together to achieve
the aforementioned competitive advantage.
Capabilities of a firm are created through tangible and intangible resources and allow
them to perform everyday tasks. These capabilities become core competencies when
they develop into a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This allows them to capitalise on the core competencies of other firms, resulting in
competitive advantage if successful. The major benefits of strategic alliances rather
than acting independently include a new source of revenue, a vehicle for firm
growth, faster responses to market opportunities, technological changes and global
conditions, and grants experiences to draw new knowledge from.
In the aviation industry, strategic alliances come in the form of bilateral or
multilateral agreements where allied airlines share similar business objectives and
coordinate their services to achieve their common goals. According to Doganis
(2006), they involve use of a common brand, a uniform service standard, and the
asset co mingling of aircraft, staff, traffic rights, terminal facilities or capital
resources to identify the airlines that are in a strategic alliance. Global airline
alliances also exist in the aviation industry. Alliance, OneWorld
, and SkyTeam were
launched between 1997 and 2001, and each contain a dozen or more members.
Figure 1 displays the differing levels of coordination between partners in the various
partnership types.
An example in aviation industry that has successfully employed a strategic alliance is
Qantas Airlines, who entered into a non equity strategic alliance with the large
Middle Eastern airline Emirates. Strategic alliances are evident
The Amish Shunned Analysis
Summary The American Experience filmed an episode called The Amish: Shunned
featuring several former Amish community members. Throughout the episode, we see
scattered clips of them telling their stories of what they have dealt with after leaving
their settlements. They grew up in a home with strict regulations that believe modern
technology and urban life leads to a life of sin and emptiness. The typical Amish
lifestyle resembles the everyday life of the American pilgrims with everything from
their bonnets to their religious views. From having left 6 weeks to 20 years ago, the
people in the special all share similar feelings of inadequacy and dissatisfaction with
the way they lived in the colonies. As the show continues, it provides
Self Reliance By Ralph Waldo Emerson Analysis
Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote Self Reliance , a piece that comments on what people
should focus on in their lives, and becoming self reliant. Self reliance is the idea of
doing things for yourself, focusing on yourself rather than what you re doing for
societal reasons. This is an interesting way to look at one s selfidentity. When looking
at life through a self reliant individualist view, one can find different perspectives or
take a ways from different literary pieces or when analyzing an individual s actions
or motivations. When looking at, Rip Van Winkle, William Wilson , Ministers Black
Veil and Wakefield we can gather a different take away when looking at how the
main characters go through different identity crises and how it correlated to self
reliant individualism, in the ways it all affected the main character and others in
the stories. When looking at these four stories, the main characters go through
identity crisis s, that affect themselves as well as other characters who slowly
begin thinking about their own self identity. In Rip Van Winkle , the readers learn
about a man who goes out into the woods to go hunting, he meets a man by the
name of Hudson, who he drinks with along with a few other people, and he
eventually goes to sleep under a tree. He awakes, and twenty years has passed
since he left for hunting, and feel asleep. The main character comes to the
realization that all this time has passed, his wife has died, which he seemed to be
indifferent to, and his son and daughter are grown now. He realizes that his whole
world, the small and quant town, his family/friends, have all moved on without
him and he s left in his old ways. The town and society itself have changed in big
ways, for example, the small inn is now a large hotel named Yankee, and the
Revolutionary War has already happened, so the once small Dutch town is a
growing town under George Washington, where all the people who inhabit it are
described as active and concerned citizens, who are more focused on material
possessions and change rather than the desire for stability. Rip Van Winkle is
welcomed back and accepted, even though he is seen as a quirky man who is almost
blissfully ignorant, while being completely harmless
Infant-Mother Attachment and Eating Disorder Behavior
Essay
Mary S. Ainsworth was fascinated in the association between infants and their
mothers that she later coined the theory of infant mother attachment. According to
Ainsworth, there are three evident attachment patterns that will develop, secure,
anxious and avoidant infants. Ainsworth felt it was substantially necessary for a child
to transition out from a mother s attachment and vulnerability to autonomy and
independence as a factor in normal development in personality. One of the key points
of Ainsworth security theory is that infants need to develop a sense of direction and
secure dependence on parents before leaving the nest into a strange and unfamiliar
situation (Bretherton, 1992). According to Ainsworth, Familial security in the... Show

In order for children to thrive, infants need to experience healthy nurturing
relationships with their mother or caregiver. Nevertheless, without a mother infant
attachment bond the growth and development of personality would be non existent
to the infant or child. For the explanation if attachment, family factors do play an
imperative role for positive development in a mother infant attachment bond. Studies
show that an individual who has a healthy relationship with parent s will have a
positive or nurturing relationship with their peers (Richters Walters, 1991).
Individuals who are alienated growing up are more prone to the development of
eating disorders or self harm behaviors that had negative experiences growing up in a
house hold with conflicts, or the lack of socialization skills (Richters Walters, 1992).
Relationship between attachment and eating disorders
Many theorists believe that family dynamics of those suffering from eating disorders
may have contributed to their illness. For instance, anorexic families have sought to
be closely related, with perfectionistic attitudes, and higher socioeconomic status.
Cole Detke Konak (1996) described anorexic families as dependent on their child
which results in the sufferer being tired to their needy parents by stopping their
daughter from actually developing her own autonomy and sense of separation into
the world. According to attachment theory, disordered eating behaviors and the
attempt to control
Vouchers In Schools Pros And Cons
The Expense of Education Education is the most powerful tool one can arm
themselves with. Education provides people with the power to innovate, invent, and
change the world. Recognized on a global basis as the ultimate key to unlocking one
s potential, education is one of, if not the most important aspect of a human being s
life. Despite this recognition of educationas a necessary aspect of positive
advancement, there has lately been a high amount of controversy surrounding the
education system in the United States. A large amount of this controversy surrounds
the views of the new secretary of education, Betsy DeVos, who strongly believes in

According to a report by the Southern Education Foundation, there are 115 private
schools that have anti homosexuality policies or belong to discriminatory associations
in the state of Georgia alone (Hansell). These schools have the legal authority to expel
students who are homosexual, transgender, or even have a member of their family
that is part of the LGBT community, even if the student themselves is not. Students
who are members of or have connections to the LGBT community do not have access
to many private institutions, even though their families pay for them through taxes.
Many argue that private education institutions should have the right to make their
own policies, even if they discriminate against certain groups, so why is this an
issue? This is a major problem because the government funding of discriminatory
institutions defeats the purpose of school vouchers by not providing school choice
to all students equally, and does it in a way that promotes discrimination on a
federally funded level. As seen in schools in Georgia, North Carolina, and other states
across the US, the foundational belief of voucher advocates that a zip code should
not define every student s education applies only to some students

Benefits of a Low Bodyfat Percentage
Obesity is ranked second among preventable causes of death. About 70% of
American adults are either overweight or obese. Being obese or overweight puts the
host at a higher risk for health problems such as heart disease, diabetes, and much
more (Alonso Alonso). When I found out about this jaw dropping information, I
decided to take action and I made it my goal to maintain a low body fat percentage
over the course of two weeks (I will be sharing my experience further down the
road). Because of an elevated mood, aesthetic improvements, health benefits, and my
positive experience, obtaining low bodyfat percentage is very beneficial.
To begin, having a low bodyfat percentage is beneficial because it has the ability to
boost self esteem. Losing excess weight can make you feel better both physically
and emotionally and can help you live a longer, healthier life (Alonso Alonso). You
become a different person physically and Mentally. Confidence goes over the roof.
Everything is mentally achievable (Cooper). This shows that having a low body fat
percentage causes confidence and internal happiness because it allows the host to
feel better about their appearances in turn producing happier and more productive
people, which is a major common problem in modern days. This proves that a low
body fat percentage can benefit a person s mental health in a positive manner.

States
Marijuana Use Marijuana use among high school seniors in the United States has
been on the rise causing greater concerns for addiction and health concerns among
teenagers. According to the CDC, in 2010, marijuana use among high school
seniors rose to 21.4%, with 25.2% being male users and 16.9% being female
(Health, United States, 2011, 2011). This shows a steady increase every year
starting in 2007 where 18.8% of high school seniors were using marijuana, with
22.3% were male and 15.0% were female. Ages as young as 12 years old also
showed the same statistical trends, even in Middle Schools. Up to 1920, there
were isolated accounts of marijuana and those that did show up in the press showed
marijuana being smoked for recreational purposes (Harrison, 2010). After
prohibition, marijuana markets started to emerge in cities. Harry Anslinger,
Federal Narcotics Commissioner, alleged marijuana as being responsible for
violent cases and waged war against marijuana in 1933. As a result, 46 states
enacted anti marijuana legislation. The Marijuana Tax Act of 1937 placed
marijuana with Schedule I drugs that included opium and cocaine. The Boggs Bill
of 1951 and the Narcotic Drug Act of 1956 served to establish severe penalties for
violation of drug laws. The Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs in 1961 was
enacted to modernize and coordinate international narcotic control. Provisions were

Supernatural In Macbeth Analysis
How does Shakespeare represent the supernatural in Macbeth?
In Macbeth, the supernatural is a key feature of the play. In this essay, I will explore
the ways in which the supernatural are represented by Shakespeare. The presence of
the supernatural from the outset of Macbeth is apparent, the witches talk about
Macbeth before he has made his first appearance on stage. This already gives the
supernatural a presence in the play and seems as if the supernatural will play a
significant role in Macbeth s life.
While some supernatural presences are questionable to the audience such as the
ghost of Banquo and the hallucinations of Lady Macbeth during her demise, the
witch s appearance has an objective existence as they are seen not only by Macbeth
but also by Banquo. Other supernatural encounters that Macbeth witnesses are
questionable to whether they are real, such as the ghost of Banquo and the
appearance of the dagger, therefore posing the question, are they real? Critics and
modern audiences alike believe that Macbeth may have been suffering with PTSD
due to his time as a solider. In order to survive, Macbeth became savage. This nature
is highlighted when Macbeth unseam d [a man] from the nave to th chops . There is
a difference between having the means to kill a man but also enjoying the thrill of the
hunt. Highlighting that Macbeth may have a form of blood lust. The manner that
Macbeth kills, is conveyed with sheer brutality. PTSD until quite recently was not

Leading Positive Change
1. The TED talks videos of Simon Sinek and Rosabeth Moss Kanter provided me
with valuable information when it comes to inspiring others to follow your lead, as
well as knowing the six important keys to leading positive change. From Simon
Sinek s presentation, I learned that the best way to inspire others is by understanding
how we lead and communicate with one another by focusing on what others can
believe in. Sinek made it clear in his presentation that the Golden Circle of why, how,
and what are what some organizations like Apple have mastered in inspired
individuals to action. Most organizations that fail to inspire others, like his example
of TiVo, normally focus on telling individuals what their products do, but the
organization... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I do agree with this idea that if we are motivated by why we are doing something in
particular for the greater good, our actions or products will be more valuable to
those around us. One of Kanter s keys to leading to positive change that stood out
to me the most was to never give up. I tend to be very hard on myself when I am
faced with an obstacle that I would consider a failure, but according to Kanter s
Law is only considered a failure if you give up. It is important to remain engaged
by pushing forward even if it takes longer than imagined because the mindset of not
giving up is what Kanter considers a hallmark of leaders . This is an important key
is many of us, including myself, tend to forget that not everything in life is perfect
so it is important for us to keeping working harder to reach our goals. Kanter s other
key, which I believe is extremely important to implement in our lives to lead
positive change is to lift other up. By sharing success and credit is what helps any
environment to have the ability to be able to accomplish any task over and over
successfully. I strongly agree with this idea because I have always felt that there is
always power in numbers, and if everyone is working together by supporting one
another anything can be
All White Oscars Diversity
Jada Pinkett Smith, the wife of Will Smith, an actor made a video that went viral
calling on other Black actors and actresses to boycott the Oscars because she
believes it lacks diversity. The All white Oscars nominees with no Black actors or
actresses was seen as racial bias to some African Americans. They believe that Black
actors and actresses have made tremendous contributions to the success of the movie
industry, and need to be appreciated on their works just as the white actors and
actresses.
Everyone deserves to be appreciated, encourage, and recognized on the contributions
he makes towards his community. The minority Black people have suffered long

The All white Oscar nominee also promote or shows that segregation of people of
color still exist in the United States. Racial segregation according to the National
Humanities Center, was a system derived from the efforts of some white
Americans to keep African Americans in a subordinate by denying them equal
access to public facilities and ensuring that blacks lived apart from whites This is
evident when, Oscars voters are about 91% white and 76% male, according to a
new Time study. (Los Angeles Times). Also the major or biggest category of the
award nominees are all white, leaving some black actors and actresses at the minor
level. Jada believe that if people of color are not given equal treatment just as
whites, they should encourage themselves as one powerful people, and put
resources together to make a difference in their community. Jada says, That maybe
is time that we recognizes that if we love and respect, and acknowledge ourselves in
a way which we are asking others to do that, that is the place of true power. Similarly,
Martin Luther King a civil right activist who fought against racial segregation. King

happened when Rosa Parks was jailed for refusing to give up her seat to a white man

Character Analysis Of Rumble Fish By Rusty James
The protagonist of the book is Rusty James. He is a fourteen your old boy that
smokes and drinks and fights already in the 1960 1970s in a southwest town. He
pushes himself to be like the Motorcycle boy (his brother). He starts to follow the
Motorcycle boy around to seem tougher and uncovers a new side of the Motorcycle
boy. The antagonist of Rumble Fishis not really a person but poverty. His dad drinks
away the child support money and is always drunk. Rusty is left to fend for
himself which makes him steal and drink and smoke and fight for money. The two
main themes of Rumble Fish are alienation and abandonment. Rusty James is just
trying to fit in but all the gangs split up and he has nowhere to go so he follows the
Motorcycle boy around to feel like he fits in. He is also abandoned by his father
and mother. His mother left when he was a baby and, his father is always drunk
and wastes the money. I would definitely recommend this book to someone. It is a
little slow but it has a good story line and it gets more interesting the more you read
it and the deeper you get. The exposition in the story in the story is when we learn
about Rusty James and his little crew who he hangs out with and how he is going to
fight Biff Wilcox. The conflict in the story is between the relationship between Rusty
James and his brother, the Motorcycle boy. The motorcycle boy tries to leave his gang
roots but Rusty keeps bringing him back. The climax is when the Motorcycle Boy,
Rusty James and Rusty s friend Steve go to town, get drunk They are split up and
Rusty and Steve get beat up. The Motorcycle boy then has to come and save them.
The resolution is when Rusty James and Steve meet at the end of the book and Steve
is a successful person and rusty James is in a rehabilitation house getting help. Book

Dalton Trumbo Literary Devices
Many people wish for a loving relationship between themselves and a parent. A
mutual trust that is not so easily broken or the chance to enjoy each other s
company. Dalton Trumbo tells a story about a father and son on a camping trip and
the son s fear that his father will be upset with the news the son must tell him.
Through literary devices such as selection of detail, point of view, and syntax,
Trumbo brings to life the loving relationship between father and son. The author s
choice of providing greater detail in specific instances can reveal the purpose of
the passage. In the story, Trumbo uses great detail to explain the importance of the
father s fishing rod. By explaining that it was perhaps the only extravagance his
father had had in his whole life (line 45 46) and that each spring his father send the
rod away to a man in Colorado Springs who was an expert on rods (line 47 49), the
author shows how much the father loves his rod, making the fact that he lets his son
use it more meaningful. The father has faith in his son and loves him enough to trust
him with the father s most beloved artifact. This shows... Show more content on

By making the story third person, Trumbo has added a less personal feel to it.
While it is third person, it does focus primarily on the son. Having the focus on this
character makes the relationship build from how the son views it rather than the
father. The son fears that his father will be disappointed that Bill Harper was coming
up tomorrow and he wanted to go fishing with him (line 23 24). Because it is more
so from the son s perspective, the readers get to see how the answer to the fear
continues to build upon the relationship that the father and son have. Even though the
son is afraid his father might be mad that he wants to hang out with a friend rather
than the father, the father knows that their relationship is strong and is okay with the
son spending time away from him on their
Fluency Disorders In Elementary School
Fluency Disorders
Growing up and beginning elementary school, children are surrounded by different
types of learning styles, disabilities, advantages and many other different routines
they aren t used to but eventually adjust. One of the most common disabilities you
see in children in school are fluency disorders, the most common fluency disorder
you will see in school is called stuttering. Stuttering effects the fluency of speech,
meaning the child is unable to complete a sentence, phrase and syllable without
repeating other words or letter sounds.
Fluency disorders begin in our early years of developing, which is why I mentioned
elementary school. Stuttering is labelled as neurodevelopmental disorder because it

These fluency disorders lead to behaviors known as secondary or accessory
behaviors. These behaviors are used to cover up or avoid disfluencies. Such
behaviors include a person pretending to cough or covering their mouth to cover up
stuttering, pretending to forget what they intended to say, not speaking even when
they need or want to, rearranging some words in a sentence and using filler sounds
when speaking in order to make their speech sound normal. It is also common for
children who have fluency disorders to develop beliefs that impact on them
negatively in their future lives. For instance, a child may decide that it is difficult to
speak by nature. This often leads to anxiety, anger, shame and fear when
Activist Judges Dbq
In this chapter, the question of if judicial independence is being undermined is
asked. Attacks upon activist judges is a recurring theme in the United States.
Various judges are attacked across the state for the decisions they make. In an
adversary system, a judge s decision often fails to find favor with the losing party.
These losing parties normally label the judge as and activist . This means that the
judge had made an unpopular opinion. There has been many examples of judges
being subject to the attacks such as when Justice Penny White was voted off the
bench because she voted in a death penalty case to grant the defendant more leeway.
These attacks on judges can have a harsh impact on the judicial independence. The

Development of a Polymer-Based Matrix Tablet
In the present study development of a polymer based matrix tablet was undertaken
to produce a sustained release dosage form of Acebrophylline, since this dosage
forms is relatively simple and cheap to produce when compared to other. Different
batches of drug Acebrophylline tablets were manufactured by wet granulation
technique, and evaluated for Pharmacopoeial and non Pharmacopoeial
specifications. Dissolution testing was undertaken using USP Apparatus 2 (Paddle
Type), which allowed for a more realistic assessment and prediction of in vitro drug
release rates. Samples were analysed using a high performance liquid
chromatographic method (HPLC). Formulation F5 shows optimum drug release.
Drug and rate retarding polymers ratio used in this formulation were Methocel
K100 LV (14.86% w/w) and Methocel K4M (10.14%w/w), in ratio (5.4:1.34:1). The
results of in vitro drug release studies were treated with zero order, first order
kinetics, Higuchi, Hixon Crowell and Korsemeyer‐Peppas model. In our
experiments, the in‐vitro release profiles of drug from all the formulations could
be best expressed by Higuchi s equation, as the plots showed high linearity (r2=
0.972 to 0.999 ) to confirm the diffusion mechanism. The data were fitted into
Korsemeyer‐Peppas model. All formulations F1 to F6 showed high linearity (r2=
0.969 to 0.998), with slope (n) values ranging from 0.383 to 0.683. This indicates
that F1,F2 and F3 shows purely diffusion and F4, F5 and F6 shows coupling of
diffusion and

Tom Walker Archetypes
Folk tales are stories that are most often passed down orally from generation to
generation. These stories are often changed slightly due its old age and variety in
versions. Details and dialogue may differ by a speck, but one thing that never
changes is the archetypes in the stories, in other words, the common example of a
character based on their role in the story. Washington Irving, an author associated
to the Romantic Era with a gothic twist in the 1800 s, is a prime example of a folk
tale with archetypical characters. The Devil and Tom Walker, published in 1824
illustrates a story of a greedy man who makes a covenant with the Devil selling his
soul for wealth. Irving uses the Old Starch, Tom and his wife as primary examples of
the typical characters that make up the story.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He establishes the background of the story by stating that there was buried treasure
of a passed away pirate on the hill top guarded not only by the big black oak trees,
but by the Devil himself. In doing this, Irving establishes a scene to easily introduce
the villain to the story. When the Old Starch is brought into the spooky setting, it is
much easier to identify that he is the villain looking for a way to do malice. When
the author talks about Old Starch he refers to him as a person that should be feared
and will intentionally hurt someone in the story, which is very common in other
stories for the villain to be a scary figure and end up devastating another character,
which in this case was the usurer that he took under his

Several species can cause human malaria and most of these species have drug

Multi drug resistant Plasmodium falciparum malaria had been treated with many
different, both single and combinations of drugs. The most common type that is
known to be effective is the artemisinin based combination therapy also known as
ACT; a combination of artermisinin and its derivatives and longer acting antimalarial
drugs. Studies conducted by Pousibet Puerto et al. shows the effectiveness of ACT

The average hospital stay and parasite clearance period for those treated with the
ACT treatments were 2.67 days and 24 hours, respectively. While the other group
treated with quinine had an average hospital stay of 3.96 days and a parasite
clearance period of 48 hours. Uncomplicated P. falciparum malaria can be effectively
and safely managed with ACT. ACT treatment reduces hospital stays and produces a
more rapid parasite clearance than the classic treatments, resulting in overall
healthcare saving. In addition, various articles that have been published regarding the
use of artemisinin derivatives have shown superior results compared to other
treatments resulting in as the first line drug recommended in the main national and
international guidelines. Quinine is now relegated as the second line treatment in
case ACT is unavailable or in cases where contraindications exist.
Combining two different drugs with different mechanisms of actions makes ACTs the
most effective antimalarial medicines available today. It has been adopted by World
Health Organization as the first line treatment for uncomplicated malaria such as P.
falciparum. Brunetti (2016) suggested that the ACT treatment dosages for
uncomplicated P. falciparum are as follows:
Artemether plus lumefantrine: Doses are given twice daily for 3 days depending on
body weight, as follows: o 5 to 15kg: 20 + 120 mg o 15 to 25kg: 40 + 240 mg o 25

Switzerland Health Care System Essay

Switzerland s health care system follows the Bismarck Model in terms of sickness
funds. It is financed through contributions of the individual to the insurance company
rather than through tax or employment based contributions.16 This keeps tax
percentages down and allows for more equality in access. The insurance is regulated
by the country s canton.16 The country works under the concept of social solidarity,
meaning that the government is responsible in giving all social services to their
citizens Although they have the second to the highest level of spending per capita at

The Declining Population in Europe and the Decline of the...
In recent years it has become evident that the population of Europe is falling at a
rate that could become problematic. This problem is contradictory to the idea of a
population explosion promoted by the book The Population Bomb by Paul Ehrlich
which decries the rapid growth of the earth s population as problematic for the
environment and for quality of life. The decline of fertility points to a view of
children that is particularly troubling. Europe simply does not want children despite
its desperate need for a growing, productive workforce. Certain social factors have
had a strong impact on this problem including migration, birth control, the role of
motherhood and the economy. Populationdecline is indicative of the decline of the...

Furthering this idea as women see having a career as more desirous than having a
family their education level rises and as they seek higher levels of education they
continue to delay childbearing. A woman in a less developed region in comparison
to Europe firstly, does not have the access to birth control, or see the perceived
advantages especially as women s participation in the work force is low. (Weeks

equality, (i.e. higher female workforce participation) equal a higher fertility rate.
Undoubtedly the widespread use of birth control has a strong influence in the
decline of Europe, however, birth control itself does not account for it altogether
according to several researchers.Eastern Europe uses modern birth control at a
lesser rate than that of Western Europe (49% of women aged 15 49 in Eastern
Europe use modern methods of birth control versus 69% in Western Europe) yet its
rate of natural increase is 0.2 % while Western Europe s is .1%(PRB 9, 13).As a
whole when looking at the trends of fertility in the past century birth control does
affect fertility especially as transitioning from high to low fertility but when
comparing countries that have already declined those countries with lower birthrates
have other factors to consider besides just the effects of birth control. The social
value of being able to control the number of children a woman has is the driving
The Influence of the Greeks and Romans on Architecture
Introduction
Architecture should speak of its time and place, but yearn for timelessness. (Gehry,
2012). What Frank Gehry was trying to say in simple terms was our culture cannot
do without proper appreciation of its classical roots and it goes without saying that
the Romans and Greeks have influenced art and architecture with its classical style
in a number of different ways. Allow me to give a definition for the word classical.
Classical refers to any art or architecture modelled after ancient Roman or Greek
styles. In this essay I will be discussing what the word architecture means in
architecture, tracing its origins through Greek and Roman civilisation and
comparing the key similarities of these two different but similar influential cultures.
I will also be referring to a few examples of past and present examples of classical
styles and scrutinizing from these examples why and how the style of classical
architecture has evolved and still stayed appropriate in our very different
contemporary cultures.
Classical architecture
(Classicalism in architecture has been in interpreted in a number of ways. Classical
architecture is a term used to refer to buildings from the classical period of European
history, spanning the rise of Greece into a major cultural power and ending with the
collapse of the Roman Empire. Many architects are influenced by the styles and
themes this style of architecture, and they revived these themes in the architectural
style known as neoclassical

Mexicans who come to the United States to strive for something better in life. The
speaker addresses the dilemma of being neither Mexican nor American, of
traveling the trajectory between both nationalities. Because he its color of the skin

The speaker is a men looking for freedom and a better future, an element so well

The Purposes of the Greatest Film Ever Created
Rosebud... that was Charles Foster Kane s last word ( Citizen Kane Quotes. ). This
was a mystery to everyone who ever knew him, because no one quite knew what
Kane, played by Orson Welles, meant when he said it. However, Jerry Thompson,

Although this is an obvious purpose for the film this is not the only one. There are
some underlying purposes to this film. The other two are sometimes forgotten
because everyone focuses on the obvious meaning of Rosebud. When all three
meanings are seen together people pick up on little things throughout the movie that
they may have missed the first time. The true meanings of the film are to show Kane

Almost all stories have plots, and authors employ plots in many different ways. If
you can show the particular way in which an author makes use of plot to further his

the particular way that Hawthorne uses colors and names as character symbols in
Young Goodman Brown, or the specific way that Updike in A P shows the world of

Try to develop your discussion by focusing on a particular strategy the author uses and
what effect that strategy has on the reader. Why did the author choose this particular

enable the author to do anything? Are there any constraints in using the strategy?

Similarities Between The Crucible And Candide
Representations of people and politics are often contextually influenced. Authors
portray their political perspective through the representations within texts, often
giving rise to evident conflict between an individuals conscience and political control.
Such is encapsulated in Arthur Miller s 1952 play The Crucible ; a transhistorical
allegory of the Salem witch trials. Correspondingly, in the novel Candide , Voltaire
attacks political manipulation of the18th century theocratic Movement of
Enlightenment . Both authors present their political speculations through exploration
of an individuals moralitywithin the restraint of a theocratic society. Such is explored
through core themes of representation of good and evil and the power of individual
conscience.
All political actions, despite malleability to individual interpretations, are at their
core, motivated by the desire or need for ultimate control of a conformist society.
Representations of the dichotomy of good and evil are expressed in the texts. Both
the Crucible by Miller and Candide by Voltaire explore the ways in which values are
manipulated, and imposed upon the people, to fuel political motives and achieve
public conformity/ultimate control. In a dramatisation of man s corruption, Miller
represents political motivations as a surrendering of moral and legal justice to fulfil
personal agendas. He criticises the political powers of the McCarthy Era when the
widespread fear of the communism witch hunt arose.
Symptoms And Symptoms Of Chronic Pain
SPONDYLOSIS CHRONIC PAIN SYNDROME
Introduction and Definition of Chronic Pain
About 100 million Americans suffer from Chronic Pain, defined as pain that lasts
longer than six months. Chronic pain can be mild or excruciating, episodic or
continuous, merely inconvenient or totally incapacitating. With chronic pain, signals
of pain remain active in the nervous system for months or even years. This can take
both a physical and emotional toll on a person.
Causes and Etiology of Chronic Pain
Chronic pain can be caused by many different factors. Often conditions that
accompany normal aging may affect bones and joints in ways that cause chronic pain.
Other common causes are nerve damage and injuries that fail to heal properly. The

Even the body s most basic defenses may be compromised: There is considerable
evidence that unrelenting pain can suppress the immune system. Because of the mind

psychological as well as physical aspects of the condition.
Some kinds of chronic pain have numerous causes. Back pain, for example, may be
caused by a single factor, or any combination of these factors:
Years of poor posture
Improper lifting and carrying of heavy objects
being overweight, which puts excess strain on the back and knees
A congenital condition such as curvature of the spine
Traumatic injury
Wearing high heels
Sleeping on a poor mattress
No obvious physical cause
Ordinary aging of the spine (degenerative changes)
Disease can also be the underlying cause of chronic pain. Rheumatoid Arthritis,
Osteoarthritis and Fibromyalgia are well known culprits, but persistent pain may also
be due to such ailments as Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, Stomach Ulcers, AIDS, and
gallbladder disease.
In many cases, however, the source of chronic pain can be a very complex and even
mysterious issue to untangle. Although it may begin with an injury or illness,
ongoing pain can develop a psychological dimension after the physical problem has
healed. This fact alone makes

We should continually seek feedback to improve customer satisfaction. Part of being
a good manager is to continually evaluate our own practice and lead by example. It
is very important to continually develop our own skills and those of our staff
members. I regularly attend as many Hairdressing seminars and exhibitions as
possible each year to keep myself up to date and motivated.
I find that by holding a training class in the salon one evening per week gives every
team member a chance to show their individual skills and overall quality of their
own work. It allows me their manager to pick up on their strengths and weaknesses
and very often I pick up something new from watching them.
This is information that can be used when doing staff appraisals. It shows me areas
of improvement that are needed for each individual so I can plan relevant courses for
them which will all help the overall customer service offered in my salon. Staff
reviews take place annually in the salon and allows us to look at the standard of
work over the past year and set targets for the year ahead. It allows me to give
feedback to each staff member individually and I find it strengthens the relationship
between us. It also gives employees the chance to tell me what they think and what
their aspirations are for the future. Task 2
Analyse the impact of client satisfaction on a hair/beauty business and
The Negative Effects Of Schoolwork Stress On Students
From putting in countless amount of hours working each day, feeling obligated to be
the best student in the country, and dealing with pressure from parents and everyone
else, it can all add up and severely affect students, especially at a young age. All of
those issues can result in health concerns, such as sleep deprivationand stress. Many
students are undoubtedly stressed. The system is taking a toll on young South Koreans
: 86 percent of high school students said they are stressed because of school, and
72.8 percent said they feel guilty if they take a break (Shim, 86 percent of South
Korean students suffer from schoolwork stress ). From the alarming statistic,
students are evidently dealing with a lot of stress because of school. When
students are not studying, they feel guilty otherwise. Furthermore, the stress and
pressure can negatively affect the student s actions and mental state. An incident
occurred with the murder of a mom that was killed by her own son named Ji, who
kept her body hidden for eight months before it was discovered, because of the
pressure and abuse he endured for a long time. He would fabricate his grade
reports because his mom wanted him to enter a top university and be ranked first in
nationwide exams. Ji was already in the top one percent, but that was not enough he
had to be ranked first. When he obtained lower scores than her expectations, she did
not give him food and forced him to stay awake at night to study. On the day before
the crime,
Literacy And Its Effects On Education
Literacy
In past years, literacy was an issues in some countries. In past years, Illiteracy was a
big issue to some countries like Pakistan, Ghana Ethiopia, South Africa and other
places in Africa. Over the past years, the government of these countries focused on
education. The levels of literacy in these countries was too high and there were
causes of negative impact toward education. For instance, literacy rate of girls in
Pakistan and family were the negative impact. Literacy rates for both gender was too
high in Ghana, Ethiopia and South Africa and the negative impact was poverty. The
government want to reduce literacy by doing many things. For example, the high rate
of low enrollment for girls in Pakistan, In South Africa there ... Show more content on

Some families wanted their girl to work at home or find employment family forced
their girls to drop out. (Latif Amna.) In addition, in Ghana money was the most
negative impact towards the high literacy rate. Ghana was poor country in past
years, so, the Government were trying to do the past to improve education. One of
the problems was the low salary of teachers and this all because of the money.
(Blunch, Niels Hugo) Children in South Africa were faced with many difficult things
in their lives. Years ago in South Africa teacher teach the student in a library rather
than schools. In 1994, most of the students did not go to the school, students just go to
the library to study and workshop with their teachers during the literacy project.
Children in elementary schools drop out because family pressure. Some families
began to send their children to enroll in drama schools rather than general schools
because of low fee. Also, some students said we shall now focus on the drama
workshops because they feel that drama schools worth it, and the tuition of the
drama schools were not that expensive. The article indicated some good reasons to
enroll in a drama school were the low fee and children were learning from the
school. Some people indicated that drama workshops were the solution to the linking
of literacy. South Africa s young children faced many emotional problems, and there
were a lot of things that increased literacy in South Africa such as, the poverty, so
The Effects Of Biofeedback System On Dynamic Balance...
Background: Majority of the previous research that evaluated the effects of
biofeedback system on dynamic balance during walking have been focused on
examining the displacement of an individual s center of mass (COM) position
(similar to trunk sway amplitude) or velocity adjusted center of mass position [Ma et.
al., 2016]. Those measurements would be valid for examining stability during a
relatively static task like standing when subjects have similar amount of base of
support throughout the task. But for walking, the amount of base of support is
changing stride to stride. Previous studies also incorporated common clinical
assessments (e.g., Berg BalanceScale, Timed up and Go test, Functional Gait
Assessment) to evaluate the effects of biofeedbacksystem on user s balance and gait
[Lipsitz et. al., 2015]. For example, Berg Balance Scale examines an individual s
ability of quiet standing, turning, single leg standing, making transitions between
sitting and standing, and transferring between a bed and a chair. However, those
assessments may not reflect an individual s dynamic balance level during continuous
walking or walking related activities. In addition, the activities as performed in those
assessments may be insufficient to capture complex walking dynamics and thus,
unable to accurately assess an individual s walking stability.
Implementing several state of the art dynamic stability analyses along with the
standard gait analysis enables a comprehensive assessment on
Globalization And Its Effects On Culture
Globalization is commonly examined by simply dissecting its political and
economic consequences. As a result, the effects on culture are often overlooked.
According to U.S. Census projections, by 2043 non Hispanic whites will become a
minority consisting of 47 percent of the U.S. population (Barreto, et al 1). Examining
the world as a whole, a 2015 study by the United Nations Department of Economic
and Social Affairs/Population Division found that between 1950 2000, an average of
2.8 million people per year migrated to North America and Europe. From 2000 2015,
that rate accelerated to 4.1 million per year. What is more, this study projects that
from 2015 2050, 91 million people are expected to migrate to high income countries
and produce an 82 percent increase in population in destination countries. Clearly, the
prospect of steady migration and the continuing effects of globalization are expected
to produce more multicultural societies. Unfortunately for many, foreign has become
synonymous with danger (Rothkopf). The debate between cultural unity and cultural
plurality dates back to the Greeks where they questioned universal human goodness
and the differences between societies. More than two millennia later, the issue of a
common versus diverse human cultureremains contentious. This paper argues that a
diverse human culture is more desirable than a universal culture because states and
societies benefit from promoting and protecting diversity. Those who argue for

Conceived Identity
Many people view the role of a public relations professional within an organization as
one that involves making the company look good among other image enhancing
functions. Whether they are called PR professionals, PR people, media relations
folks, they are the ones typically called on to inform the publicof updates or
improvements, they are called to help change the perception of the public, help with
rebranding efforts and in the event of negative press or other crises, public relations
professionals are often called on to fix things, to wield that magic wand of words and
press releases to make the bad stuff all go away in an effort to preserve or salvage a
positive identity. Many would be surprised to learn that the role of a... Show more

Real corporate identity...is about behavior as much as appearance, and certainly about
reality, as much as symbolism. Wherever behavior and appearance are linked, real
corporate identity emerges. There are said to be five identities of a company 1. The
actual identity that encompasses the actual defining characteristics of the corporation,
2. Communicated identity this involves the part of a company s identity that is
revealed using controllable corporate communication, 3. Conceived identity is the
third type of identity and refers to the perceived corporate image held by relevant
stakeholders, 4. Ideal identity this is the best positioning of the organization in a
given timeframe and finally is 5. The desired identity which is the corporate leaders
vision for the organization. Having these different identities without proper alignment
can create discord among these different areas and can weaken a company. At Emory

administrators, prospective students and alumni. Other publics include companies

Reflection Paper On Concussions
About a month ago, I was playing a basketball game and I took a hard hit, from an
elbow to the back of the head. I kept playing in the basketball game, because I didn
t think that anything bad had happened to me. I had not realized that I had a
concussion, until I threw up[ outside about twenty five minutes after the game. All
my friends, and my family told me I needed to go to the hospital, but I did not want
to waste money. I decided to go to the health services department that Bradley
University has on campus. The doctors did a lot of different activities for them to
figure out if i have a concussionor not. They also had me take a paintest, and this told
them where I was having pain in my head and what precautions I should take to not
hurt my head more than I already had. The doctors diagnosed me with a pretty
severe concussion and told me that this was a very serious injury, and that I should
not take it for granted. After I left, the health services department sent out an email
to my teachers, telling them that I would not be in class for a few days, and that I
could not complete any homework assignments. Without a concussion, I could do
whatever I wanted to do with my life. I could play basketball and soccer whenever
I wanted to. I could go out and have fun with my friends or even go to social
gatherings that my fraternity was holding. I went to class everyday and made sure
all of my homework was finished and turned in on time. I did not have no worry

Death of a Salesman and American Beauty
Death of a Salesman is a play by Arthur Miller that follows the dying days of Willy
Loman. Willy is a salesman who is not very at selling whatever he is selling so he
takes the easy way out and goes to his neighbor, Charley, who has worked very
hard for his money. Willy thinks that Charley and his son Bernard are nerdy and
that they are not successful. Success to Willy is all about looks, which is why his
son Biff grew up with the idea that as long as you are well liked than you will be
successful. Willy faces the conscious battle between what he wants his sons to see
and what he wants to keep personal. He wants to set the example of success to his
sons by having a death of a salesmanwhere tons of people attend his funeral and

Willy is the same way with taking shortcuts for success. Willy would have to go to
Charley and borrow fifty dollars a week and pretend to [Linda] that it s his pay
(Miller). Willy is just as lazy as Lester when it comes to the working ethic. Willy
knows that he needs to make money for his family so he takes the easy way out to
make it seem like he is successful. Both characters believe that in order to be
successful one must project an image of success at all times (Mendes). Lester and
Willy both think that the way one looks on the outside will bring them success.
Lester tries to improve his body for Angela by working out. Willy tells Biff
indirectly not to study because if he have scholarships to three universities they re
gonna fluck him (Miller). Willy shows that he thinks that looks get you success and
not hard work. Lester and Willy only wanted to have happiness and success and what
they got was death.
The two men, Lester and Willy, are not the characters that should be matched up
even though they both try very hard to get their dreams there is more similarities
between Willy and Carolyn than Willy and Lester. Willy and Carolyn are both
characters who make their money by selling items. Carolyn sells houses and Willy
sells something. Carolyn thinks that her relationship with her family is perfect just
like how she runs the house. She fails to see that what they truly need is someone to

Origins Of The Walking Dead
Photo Essay
Origins of The Walking Dead
For my ethnography project, I chose to study the fandom of The Walking Dead.
For the purpose of this paper, I will refer to The Walking Dead as a comic, a video
game, and a TV show series. The focus of this ethnography is to understand how the
comic book culture influences many fans. Since the series is based on a graphic novel
series, and some of the fans are schooled in comic culture; they arrive with literacy
in comic storytelling. Others who are not fans may recognize the visually and
narrative of zombie films, in the horror genre after 1968 s Night of the Living Dead
and Dawn of the Dead. Yet many Walking Dead fans appear to have migrated to the
zombie tale without any particular connection to the comic book storytelling, or
significant fascination, and the series fandom illuminates how an apocalyptic
imagination has expanded into popular culture.
The Walking Dead fandom has changed by geek standard. The Walking Dead has
nearly all the classic of the 21st century geek fandom: in this picture, it shows you
the evolution of graphic imaginary has changed to attracted plenty of fans. The
rating success has produce games, cars, and toys of the Walking Dead. The
narrative extends over a vast range of official principles and the fan forms alike: its
marketing team reaches out into nearly every popular culture. The fandom appears to
extend well beyond the stereotype of comic book nerds. Most fans attention of The
Irony In Stown Analysis
Southern gothic literature is known for the irony it produces, how it can derail an
entire story, and take the reader for a ride. Southern gothic literature s definition of
irony deals with the history of the south. The irony that is shown in Stown is the
tattooes on John s body, but also the fact that the Burt s ended up buying John s
property after he had passed. Irony in Stown is to keep the reader interested and
has them wanting to find out more. Throughout the podcast, many things are
thrown our way, the irony of those things make it that much more interesting.
Some things stand out more than others for the characteristic irony. One that sticks
out like a sore thumb to most readers is the fact the John loathed tattoos but was
completely covered in them when he passed away. Brian once caught a flash from
John of his chest and he then begins to talk about tattoos, The entirety of John s
chest is tattooed, and his shoulders too, though it s all perfectly covered when he s
wearing a t shirt. The flashing is quick, so I can t take it all in, but I see a glimpse of
what s possibly a beaker and maybe a clock type thing. It takes me aback, because
John has made clear to me how much he loathes tattoos. They re one of the things he
hates about Shittown. I believe he once called them an expression of hopelessness.
Doesn t compute. John has mentioned a few times that he hates tattoos and everyone
that has one is a low life. He knows that most people have them, and openly talks
Moses vs Abraham
In the Old Testament, Abraham and Moses were two very prominent leaders chosen
by God to do his will. Throughout Genesis and Exodus, both men play important
roles in fulfilling God s will. They are put to many tests, given covenants, and
communicate constantly with God. Although they have many similarities such as
being leaders and men of God, there are also many differences between the two.
In terms of leadership, Abraham was a noble leader. Although he grew up in a
camp where the notion of one God was not accepted, he eventually manages to
become the leader of a tribe and make the people believe in his faith. He leads them
around endlessly from Ur to Canaan, to Egypt, then back to Canaan. His tribe
followed him around without much ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And although they received similar covenants, they received it in a different way.
When Abraham received his, he got it through prayer. This seems to be dominant
during Abraham s days as a leader. He communicated with God mostly thought
prayer. When he asked God for advise on what to do about Hagar and her son, he
does it though prayer. When he asked God about the wicked city of Sodom, he did it
in prayer. And finally
Factors Affecting The Metabolism Before Information...
In addition, this theory focuses on building the metabolism before information
bearing compounds like RNA, while other theories focus on creating an RNA world
first. However, the idea that hydrothermal vents were the hatchery of life can be
compatible for both theories. Similar to how the micro compartments in the vents
could have concentration chemicals needed for metabolism to arise, the micro
compartments could have also concentrated products needed for organic synthesis of
primitive genetic material (Joyce G.F. 2002). Some RNA world theories were
criticized because the chemicals in the ocean would be in too low of a concentration
to react readily. Therefore, using hydrothermal vents as a concentrating mechanisms
would provide concentrations needed to help endergonic reactions proceed (Martin et
al. 2008).
To further our understanding of how life could have arisen and the constraints for
life, we need to look beyond our planet. A logical choice would be to look at icy
worlds that have a similar oceanic climate to the Hadean Ocean. Recent data
obtained by the Cassini spacecraft point to Enceladus as a possible location to
answer these questions. In 2005, the Cassini spacecraft discovered plumes of water
vapor, salts and ice ejected from Saturn s moon Enceladus. This plume was sodium
salt rich and the liquid water showed evidence of having been in contact with rock
surfaces (Postburg et al. 2009,2011). In addition to water vapor, salts, and ice, dust
particles were also
The Ideal And The Real Of Breast-Feed
In this article, The Ideal and the Real of Breast Feeding by Jane E. Brody, Brody
brings some good points to light. The campaign to exclusively breastfeed for the first
six months in today s society is becoming increasingly prevalent by health care
providers, lactation consultants, and other organizations. Brody s notable outlook on
breastfeedingstems from her own personal experiences with her twin boys. The ever
increasing numbers of reasons one should breastfeed and how important it is for the
health of the child to continue to grow. As the textbook, How Children Develop by
Robert Siegler, shows it is a natural life source. Mammals use breast milkas a source
of nutrition for their young. Humans have become more reliant on formula feeding....

Aside from Brody s personal point of view, there is no real talk to the reality of the
time and energy spent by mom to strictly feeding a baby by breast. How can we
create a study of full benefits to breastfeeding? What are the true differences
between a formula fed and a breastfed baby? How can we go about better education
to the mothers who are potentially choosing to breastfeed? How do we make
moms feel comfortable and know that it is not their fault if they are unable to
breastfeed? New moms need a lot support, especially in the first few months after
the baby is born. They should not feel that they are doing something wrong by not
being able to feed baby. The support for these women should stem from every branch
they have, such as doctors, family members, and any educational tool they see fit to
use. Programs like WIC, lactation consultants, and the La Letche League should
provide better support for moms who chose that breastfeeding may not be suited for
Heraclitus Argumentative Essay
Heraclitus believed in a world of Logos, or logic, and that mankind lacks basic
reasoning. He stated that senses are necessary to understanding the world we live
in, but without the right language, we cannot interpret it correctly, and so, it s a
mistake for barbaric men to have senses (barbaric men do not have the capability
to learn language). Many of his ideas are widely known today. For example, expect
the unexpected and that if things happened the way we want or wish them to be,
then the world would become chaotic. Heraclitus stated, Opposition brings concord.
Out of discord comes the fairest harmony. The world is based on the balance
between opposite forces and that life is governed by a natural law of change.
According to Empedocles,

The main difference between the federal budget and the state and local budgets is the
issue of a monetary deficit, in which expenditures in the budget exceeds revenues that
were estimated. State and local governments are required to balance their budgets.
The federal government is allowed to borrow money to meet its obligations and have
a deficit. The federal governmentcollects the most tax revenue, but state and local
governments have a greater range of revenue options for funding their budgets. The
federal government relies mainly on income taxes, capital gains and Social Security
taxes. State and local governments collect sales taxes, taxes on fuel, property taxes

The next largest portion at almost 10% of the budget is allotted to Criminal Justice.
In the state of Georgia we have 159 state funded prisons that house over 57,000
inmates (Ga Prison Fact Sheet). This also includes over 13,000 state employees that
run these facilities (AJC Prison). Each inmate takes approximately $51 a day. This
includes housing, meals and general day to day activities (Ga Prison Fact Sheet).
Forth largest in the Georgia budget is for Debt Services. Debt services include the
payments of the principal and interest of any general or long term obligation that the
state has accrued. This amount is over $64 million in 2012. Lastly, the fifth largest
budget allocation is for transportation. Transportation encompasses road repair,
improving the efficiency of the movement of goods, construction of new roads and
Highways and reducing congestion within the state. Along with these services, the
salaries and benefits of their employees are figured into this section of the budget

  • 2. National Low Income Housing Of African Americans This all seems great, a savior program that allows people who cannot afford to pay rent normally. Section 8 is utilized by the elderly, disabled, and families with and without children but is it really a golden program? Stated above, section 8 provides for vouchers for all types of apartments and even condos in certain states; however, are these opportunities open to all races? 41.6 percent of African Americans are on housing assistance programs, as in this county s displaced history on minorities, the voucher program produces elements that affect minorities. Although African Americans make up the overall higher percentage when it comes to housing assistance programs, according to National Low Income Housing Coalition, surprisingly Caucasians make up 49 percent of the project based section 8. Yet, National Low Income Housing Coalition mentions that African Americans as of 2010 shows that black and Hispanic public housing residents are four times more likely than their Caucasian counterparts public housing residents to live in high poverty neighborhoods. Black and Hispanic voucher recipients are about three times as likely as their white counterparts to live in high poverty neighborhoods. Reviewing this data Caucasians obtains overall nationwide more voucher approvals that African Americans living in the highest of poverty neighborhoods and that comes
  • 3. Actor, Will Rogers, Succeeded in Silent Films and Talkies... The 1930s were known for many things, one of the biggest being the movement from silent films to talkies which is what the first films with script and other sound effects were called. When film was first being produced everything had to be acted out with no sound, meaning there was no music, talking, laugh track, nothing. While there were people who excelled at acting in silent films, not many were able to make the transition to talkies easily. However the ones who did, flourished. One such star was Will Rogers. He was a ranch hand, rodeo rider, vaudeville performer, film star, columnist and author, radio personality, pioneer of aviation, tireless master of ceremonies, friend to presidents, and unofficial ambassador of good will under... (Chronicle of the 20th Century. Page 600) In 1918, he acted in many silent films and when talkies started being produced, Rogers became a national star. Audiences liked his simple language and country roots, seeing him as one of their own. (Page 445) He starred in seventy one films overall and several Broadway shows. (Will Rogers Biography. Rogers wrote six books and an estimated four thousand syndicated columns, soon becoming a prominent radio broadcaster and political commentator. (Will Rogers SHP. His honest and intelligent views about the government and America along with his folksy humor won him the nations respect. He would write his weekly little piece for the papers until his death in 1935. In 1926 he began writing a daily column Will Rogers Says . He had a skill for showing the hilarious side of current events; exaggerating the facts to the amusement of his readers. He declined a nomination to be governor of
  • 4. As Interest Fades As Interest Fades in the Humanities, Colleges Worry: Reaction to Lewin, Tamar Tamar Lewin, a national reporter for The New York Times, in her article titled, As Interest Fades in the Humanities, Colleges Worry, which was posted on October 30, 2013, sheds light on the fading interest in the humanities amongst student. This is especially true for those belonging to Stanford University. Many scholars alongside Lewin, are now asking why this trend is occurring. As stated in the article, Stanford is known for its reputation in technology, and as years pass, students are beginning to transition from the humanities to majors belonging in the sciences. She fears that this will in time mark the end of subjects such as history, philosophy, foreign languages, and a plethora of subjects that belong to the humanities, leading to student that lack critical thinking skills. Computer science for example, is currently a widely favored major amongst students. Currently it is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... More and more sciences are dominating society, and slowly pushing the humanities away. In schools, you often here students speak about how this major is harder or softer than the other, and the ones that are almost classified as being soft are those belonging to the humanities. This in my opinion, is the effect, of the shifting trend that is taking place. Even instructors in the institution are now prompting students away from the humanities, and encouraging them towards science, which is not necessarily an evil deed, but is aiding in the decline of the humanities as a whole. This to me is causing students to lack the ability to think logically and critically in this technological/science ruled
  • 5. Research Paper On Beshparmak The meal that I am going to source is Beshparmak, which, according to my Food Journal, I had on the 31st of January at my aunt s house. The Beshparmak is a traditional Kazakh cuisine, which is usually served at any kind of celebration. The direct translation of word Beshparmak means five fingers , because the dish is traditionally eaten barehanded. The main components of the meal are noodles, meat, sauce (onion and broth), and some optional ingredients like potato. The meat is slowly cooked for approximately 2.5 hours, so that it would not be tough. It is taken from the resulting broth. Couple of eggs, 500 grams of flour, and 200 300 grams of water are mixed into the dough, which later is rolled into circle shaped noodles and prepared in the ... For instance, our family has a livestock in the home village of my grandparents, where horses, cows and lambs are taken care by the local bigger farmers as part of their stock, while monthly payment is given to those farmers for their service. However, the possibility of having personal livestock rather than buying from supermarkets from big industrial companies is costly, since not everyone can allow themselves to maintain livestock in the country side. In the villages, animals are freely grazing or given hay, while horses are able to tebenevat , which means that they are capable of finding food under the snow during the winter season. The fact that animals are kept in good environmental conditions, and are fed by natural resources, contributes to the quality of the meat. Since my family maintains some private livestock, from which horse served in Beshparmak was taken from. It was slaughtered in the autumn: some parts like kazy/horse sausage was marinated and preserved by salt for the winter, while others preserved in the freezer for daily dishes or any special

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of those small revolutions is by the Wasichu Aaron Huey. He lived in a native American community to comprehend the injustice these people are living. As he opens his TedTalk he said We are at a private school in the American West, sitting in red velvet chairs with money in our pockets. And if we look at our lives, we have indeed taken the best part of the meat. He compared the people who were listening to him to the native Americans and their struggle. By placing himself as a representative of this people which most likely will never be heard by people the same social standards as those in the audience his doing a social justice act. Another small, but impactful act of social activism is by Deborah Tannen, in her article Bossy is more than a word to women she brings the interest of people to a specific word that is affecting a social group. One of the sections in her work reads That s why bossy is not just a word but a frame of mind. Let s agree to stop sending girls and women the message that they ll be disliked or worse if they exercise authority. Although, the magnitude of both scenarios is kind of different (as one deals with the social infrastructure of a whole social group which has been affected to the point of death and the other one targets a word, both are attacking an injustice evenly.) In both cases, Deborah and Aaron comprehended that a social group was being targeted and they both took it upon themselves to study, live and comprehend the groups. Those examples clearly demonstrate how different a social issue can be a target, people that act based on what they believe is correct are indeed social justice
  • 7. Reaction Paper On Gels 1. Introduction 1.1.Gels 1.1.1. Definition The word gel is derived from gelatin and can be traced back to the Latin gelu for frost and gelare, meaning freeze or congeal . (1) According to the U. S. Pharmacopeia (USP), gels are defined as semisolid systems consisting of either suspensions made up of small inorganic particles or large organic molecules interpenetrated by a liquid . (2) Gels are also defined as two component semi rigid systems in which the liquid continuous phase is immobilized by a cross linked three dimensional network consisting of particles or solvated macromolecules in the disperse phase. (2,3) This disperse phase can be constituted by inorganic particles or organic macromolecules, primarily polymers. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This process is referred to as swelling. This phenomenon occurs as the solvent penetrates the matrix. Gel gel interactions are replaced by gel solvent interactions. The degree of swelling depends on the number of linkages between individual molecules of gelling agent and on the strength of these linkages7, 8. B) Syneresis Many gels often contract spontaneously on standing and exude some fluid medium. This effect is known as syneresis. The degree to which syneresis occurs, increases as the concentration of gelling agent decreases. The occurrence of syneresis indicates that the original gel was thermodynamically unstable. The mechanism of contraction has been related to the relaxation of elastic stress developed during the setting of the gels. As these stresses are relieved, the interstitial space available for the solvent is reduced, forcing the liquid out. C) Ageing Colloidal systems usually exhibit slow spontaneous aggregation. This process is referred to as ageing. In gels, ageing results in gradual formation of a denser network of the gelling agent. D) Structure The rigidity of a gel arises from the presence of a network formed by the interlinking of particles of the gelling agents. The nature of the particle and the stress, straightening them out and lessening the resistance to

The students had previously discussed the story elements of a fairytale which correlates with the standard RL1.3. This standard states: Describe characters, settings, and major events in a story using key details. My teacher referred to key details as story elements for this lesson. The students had also read Cinderellatwo days previous to my activity. The book I worked with is called Cinderquaker by Mike Thaler. An unexpected element of their literacy development was evident when a student pointed out that I forgot to put a period on the end of one of my sentence examples. This is a high focus in a classroom as well as capitalizing the first letter in a sentence. This was not the focus of my project but shows the students are successfully developing in this area because they are noticing it in other content areas. I fluently read the story stopping to make sure students pointed their story element. I would use inflection when I reached story element like Fairy Mom to emphasis the key words. This was important to the reading because not all the elements were exactly the same as most story, for example fairy godmother was called fairy mom and instead of once upon a time it reads Once there was a little duck . These slight changes in word choice made it difficult for the students to pick up on the elements. For the next time, I would consider explaining this to the students before hand so that they know the exact key words to be looking for. The main skill I focused on was vocabulary specifically story elements of fairytales. I printed out the student s the element they were to look with a picture so that they could see the words and how it is spelled while also relating it to the picture. Before I began to read, I had the students explain to me what

(p45) The Bostonians, by restraining their anger and offering no open affront to the troops, were able to win universal sympathy and to make the whole policy of employing troops against them seem as ridiculous as it was odious. • 12. The Pros And Cons Of Counterfeiting If you have ever traveled to another country, you have probably seen vendors on the sidewalks or streets, selling designer brand goods at a really cheap price. You may have even purchased something from them. The fashion industry is a 1.2 trillion dollar global industry and employs 1.9 million people in the United States alone (Maloney, 2015). There is one market that is proving to be detrimental to this powerhouse industry. The black market of fashion, which produces counterfeitgoods that are being sold at a fraction of the price of the originals. Whatever the reason a consumer has for purchasing a counterfeit product, that sale will still influence the global economy. Counterfeiting leads to huge losses for not only the industry, but also a loss of tax revenue for governments. It is estimated that counterfeiting consists of 5% to 7% of world trade and produces profits of over 650 billion dollars annually ( Challenges of Selling , 2008). Not only does counterfeiting steal profits from legitimate retailers, but it also causes loss of jobs, other, more violent crimes, supports child labor, and puts consumers health at risk (Bell, 2016). Since most illegal counterfeiting operations are run by organized crime rings, no taxes are paid, and the profits from selling these goods are often used to support other crimes such as drug and human trafficking, money laundering and even terrorism. Counterfeit sales in the United States have been directly related to the killing

An approach that has been rising in popularity for resource based firms in the past two decades (KALE SINGH) is cooperative strategy, whereby two or more firms work together to achieve the aforementioned competitive advantage. The major benefits of strategic alliances rather than acting independently include a new source of revenue, a vehicle for firm growth, faster responses to market opportunities, technological changes and global conditions, and grants experiences to draw new knowledge from. In the aviation industry, strategic alliances come in the form of bilateral or multilateral agreements where allied airlines share similar business objectives and coordinate their services to achieve their common goals. According to Doganis (2006), they involve use of a common brand, a uniform service standard, and the asset co mingling of aircraft, staff, traffic rights, terminal facilities or capital resources to identify the airlines that are in a strategic alliance. Global airline alliances also exist in the aviation industry. Alliance, OneWorld , and SkyTeam were launched between 1997 and 2001, and each contain a dozen or more members. Figure 1 displays the differing levels of coordination between partners in the various partnership types. An example in aviation industry that has successfully employed a strategic alliance is Qantas Airlines, who entered into a non equity strategic alliance with the large Middle Eastern airline Emirates. Strategic alliances are evident

Throughout the episode, we see scattered clips of them telling their stories of what they have dealt with after leaving their settlements. They grew up in a home with strict regulations that believe modern technology and urban life leads to a life of sin and emptiness. The typical Amish lifestyle resembles the everyday life of the American pilgrims with everything from their bonnets to their religious views. From having left 6 weeks to 20 years ago, the people in the special all share similar feelings of inadequacy and dissatisfaction with the way they lived in the colonies. • 15. Self Reliance By Ralph Waldo Emerson Analysis Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote Self Reliance , a piece that comments on what people should focus on in their lives, and becoming self reliant. Self reliance is the idea of doing things for yourself, focusing on yourself rather than what you re doing for societal reasons. This is an interesting way to look at one s selfidentity. When looking at life through a self reliant individualist view, one can find different perspectives or take a ways from different literary pieces or when analyzing an individual s actions or motivations. When looking at, Rip Van Winkle, William Wilson , Ministers Black Veil and Wakefield we can gather a different take away when looking at how the main characters go through different identity crises and how it correlated to self reliant individualism, in the ways it all affected the main character and others in the stories. When looking at these four stories, the main characters go through identity crisis s, that affect themselves as well as other characters who slowly begin thinking about their own self identity. In Rip Van Winkle , the readers learn about a man who goes out into the woods to go hunting, he meets a man by the name of Hudson, who he drinks with along with a few other people, and he eventually goes to sleep under a tree. He awakes, and twenty years has passed since he left for hunting, and feel asleep. The main character comes to the realization that all this time has passed, his wife has died, which he seemed to be indifferent to, and his son and daughter are grown now. He realizes that his whole world, the small and quant town, his family/friends, have all moved on without him and he s left in his old ways. The town and society itself have changed in big ways, for example, the small inn is now a large hotel named Yankee, and the Revolutionary War has already happened, so the once small Dutch town is a growing town under George Washington, where all the people who inhabit it are described as active and concerned citizens, who are more focused on material possessions and change rather than the desire for stability. Rip Van Winkle is welcomed back and accepted, even though he is seen as a quirky man who is almost blissfully ignorant, while being completely harmless
  • 16. Infant-Mother Attachment and Eating Disorder Behavior Essay Mary S. Ainsworth was fascinated in the association between infants and their mothers that she later coined the theory of infant mother attachment. According to Ainsworth, there are three evident attachment patterns that will develop, secure, anxious and avoidant infants. Ainsworth felt it was substantially necessary for a child to transition out from a mother s attachment and vulnerability to autonomy and independence as a factor in normal development in personality. One of the key points of Ainsworth security theory is that infants need to develop a sense of direction and secure dependence on parents before leaving the nest into a strange and unfamiliar situation (Bretherton, 1992). According to Ainsworth, Familial security in the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In order for children to thrive, infants need to experience healthy nurturing relationships with their mother or caregiver. Nevertheless, without a mother infant attachment bond the growth and development of personality would be non existent to the infant or child. For the explanation if attachment, family factors do play an imperative role for positive development in a mother infant attachment bond. Studies show that an individual who has a healthy relationship with parent s will have a positive or nurturing relationship with their peers (Richters Walters, 1991). Individuals who are alienated growing up are more prone to the development of eating disorders or self harm behaviors that had negative experiences growing up in a house hold with conflicts, or the lack of socialization skills (Richters Walters, 1992). Relationship between attachment and eating disorders Many theorists believe that family dynamics of those suffering from eating disorders may have contributed to their illness. For instance, anorexic families have sought to be closely related, with perfectionistic attitudes, and higher socioeconomic status. Cole Detke Konak (1996) described anorexic families as dependent on their child which results in the sufferer being tired to their needy parents by stopping their daughter from actually developing her own autonomy and sense of separation into the world. According to attachment theory, disordered eating behaviors and the attempt to control

Despite this recognition of educationas a necessary aspect of positive advancement, there has lately been a high amount of controversy surrounding the education system in the United States. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to a report by the Southern Education Foundation, there are 115 private schools that have anti homosexuality policies or belong to discriminatory associations in the state of Georgia alone (Hansell). These schools have the legal authority to expel students who are homosexual, transgender, or even have a member of their family that is part of the LGBT community, even if the student themselves is not. Students who are members of or have connections to the LGBT community do not have access to many private institutions, even though their families pay for them through taxes. Many argue that private education institutions should have the right to make their own policies, even if they discriminate against certain groups, so why is this an issue? This is a major problem because the government funding of discriminatory institutions defeats the purpose of school vouchers by not providing school choice to all students equally, and does it in a way that promotes discrimination on a federally funded level. As seen in schools in Georgia, North Carolina, and other states across the US, the foundational belief of voucher advocates that a zip code should not define every student s education applies only to some students

Benefits Of A Low Bodyfat Percentage Gabriel Torres Busby/Morss World Studies в…ћ January 26, 2017 Benefits of a Low Bodyfat Percentage Obesity is ranked second among preventable causes of death. About 70% of American adults are either overweight or obese. Being obese or overweight puts the host at a higher risk for health problems such as heart disease, diabetes, and much more (Alonso Alonso). When I found out about this jaw dropping information, I decided to take action and I made it my goal to maintain a low body fat percentage over the course of two weeks (I will be sharing my experience further down the road). Because of an elevated mood, aesthetic improvements, health benefits, and my positive experience, obtaining low bodyfat percentage is very beneficial. To begin, having a low bodyfat percentage is beneficial because it has the ability to boost self esteem. Losing excess weight can make you feel better both physically and emotionally and can help you live a longer, healthier life (Alonso Alonso). You become a different person physically and Mentally. Confidence goes over the roof. Everything is mentally achievable (Cooper). This shows that having a low body fat percentage causes confidence and internal happiness because it allows the host to feel better about their appearances in turn producing happier and more productive people, which is a major common problem in modern days. This proves that a low body fat percentage can benefit a person s mental health in a positive manner. In addition, low

According to the CDC, in 2010, marijuana use among high school seniors rose to 21.4%, with 25.2% being male users and 16.9% being female (Health, United States, 2011, 2011). This shows a steady increase every year starting in 2007 where 18.8% of high school seniors were using marijuana, with 22.3% were male and 15.0% were female. Ages as young as 12 years old also showed the same statistical trends, even in Middle Schools. Up to 1920, there were isolated accounts of marijuana and those that did show up in the press showed marijuana being smoked for recreational purposes (Harrison, 2010). After prohibition, marijuana markets started to emerge in cities. Harry Anslinger, Federal Narcotics Commissioner, alleged marijuana as being responsible for violent cases and waged war against marijuana in 1933. As a result, 46 states enacted anti marijuana legislation. The Marijuana Tax Act of 1937 placed marijuana with Schedule I drugs that included opium and cocaine. The Boggs Bill of 1951 and the Narcotic Drug Act of 1956 served to establish severe penalties for violation of drug laws. The Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs in 1961 was enacted to modernize and coordinate international narcotic control. Provisions were made for cannabis. In this essay, I will explore the ways in which the supernatural are represented by Shakespeare. The presence of the supernatural from the outset of Macbeth is apparent, the witches talk about Macbeth before he has made his first appearance on stage. This already gives the supernatural a presence in the play and seems as if the supernatural will play a significant role in Macbeth s life. While some supernatural presences are questionable to the audience such as the ghost of Banquo and the hallucinations of Lady Macbeth during her demise, the witch s appearance has an objective existence as they are seen not only by Macbeth but also by Banquo. Other supernatural encounters that Macbeth witnesses are questionable to whether they are real, such as the ghost of Banquo and the appearance of the dagger, therefore posing the question, are they real? Critics and modern audiences alike believe that Macbeth may have been suffering with PTSD due to his time as a solider. In order to survive, Macbeth became savage. This nature is highlighted when Macbeth unseam d [a man] from the nave to th chops . There is a difference between having the means to kill a man but also enjoying the thrill of the hunt. I do agree with this idea that if we are motivated by why we are doing something in particular for the greater good, our actions or products will be more valuable to those around us. One of Kanter s keys to leading to positive change that stood out to me the most was to never give up. I tend to be very hard on myself when I am faced with an obstacle that I would consider a failure, but according to Kanter s Law is only considered a failure if you give up. It is important to remain engaged by pushing forward even if it takes longer than imagined because the mindset of not giving up is what Kanter considers a hallmark of leaders . This is an important key is many of us, including myself, tend to forget that not everything in life is perfect so it is important for us to keeping working harder to reach our goals. Kanter s other key, which I believe is extremely important to implement in our lives to lead positive change is to lift other up. By sharing success and credit is what helps any environment to have the ability to be able to accomplish any task over and over successfully. I strongly agree with this idea because I have always felt that there is always power in numbers, and if everyone is working together by supporting one another anything can be

Dissolution testing was undertaken using USP Apparatus 2 (Paddle Type), which allowed for a more realistic assessment and prediction of in vitro drug release rates. Samples were analysed using a high performance liquid chromatographic method (HPLC). Formulation F5 shows optimum drug release. Drug and rate retarding polymers ratio used in this formulation were Methocel K100 LV (14.86% w/w) and Methocel K4M (10.14%w/w), in ratio (5.4:1.34:1). Although the poem is simple, Soto brings identity, ironic, drama, and imagery to his audience. The narrative reflects irony the speaker went through and the dilemma that Mexican Americans go through. The poems tone is ironic and not taking too seriously. The poem begins explaining to the reader the story of a Mexican American as he worked in an industrial factory at some point in his life. But he also understands that people like him, mainly Mexicans who come to the United States to strive for something better in life. The speaker addresses the dilemma of being neither Mexican nor American, of traveling the trajectory between both nationalities. Because he its color of the skin and lived in a border culture, it was often assumed that he was not an American. The speaker is a men looking for freedom and a better future, an element so well known that he is willing to risk everything to achieve his goal. Authors portray their political perspective through the representations within texts, often giving rise to evident conflict between an individuals conscience and political control. Such is encapsulated in Arthur Miller s 1952 play The Crucible ; a transhistorical allegory of the Salem witch trials. Correspondingly, in the novel Candide , Voltaire attacks political manipulation of the18th century theocratic Movement of Enlightenment . Both authors present their political speculations through exploration of an individuals moralitywithin the restraint of a theocratic society. Such is explored through core themes of representation of good and evil and the power of individual conscience. All political actions, despite malleability to individual interpretations, are at their core, motivated by the desire or need for ultimate control of a conformist society. Representations of the dichotomy of good and evil are expressed in the texts. Both the Crucible by Miller and Candide by Voltaire explore the ways in which values are manipulated, and imposed upon the people, to fuel political motives and achieve public conformity/ultimate control. In a dramatisation of man s corruption, Miller represents political motivations as a surrendering of moral and legal justice to fulfil personal agendas. He criticises the political powers of the McCarthy Era when the widespread fear of the communism witch hunt arose.

Background: Majority of the previous research that evaluated the effects of biofeedback system on dynamic balance during walking have been focused on examining the displacement of an individual s center of mass (COM) position (similar to trunk sway amplitude) or velocity adjusted center of mass position [Ma et. al., 2016]. Those measurements would be valid for examining stability during a relatively static task like standing when subjects have similar amount of base of support throughout the task. But for walking, the amount of base of support is changing stride to stride. Previous studies also incorporated common clinical assessments (e.g., Berg BalanceScale, Timed up and Go test, Functional Gait Assessment) to evaluate the effects of biofeedbacksystem on user s balance and gait [Lipsitz et. al., 2015]. For example, Berg Balance Scale examines an individual s ability of quiet standing, turning, single leg standing, making transitions between sitting and standing, and transferring between a bed and a chair. However, those assessments may not reflect an individual s dynamic balance level during continuous walking or walking related activities. In addition, the activities as performed in those assessments may be insufficient to capture complex walking dynamics and thus, unable to accurately assess an individual s walking stability. Implementing several state of the art dynamic stability analyses along with the standard gait analysis enables a comprehensive assessment on

As a result, the effects on culture are often overlooked. According to U.S. Census projections, by 2043 non Hispanic whites will become a minority consisting of 47 percent of the U.S. population (Barreto, et al 1). Examining the world as a whole, a 2015 study by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs/Population Division found that between 1950 2000, an average of 2.8 million people per year migrated to North America and Europe. From 2000 2015, that rate accelerated to 4.1 million per year. What is more, this study projects that from 2015 2050, 91 million people are expected to migrate to high income countries and produce an 82 percent increase in population in destination countries. Clearly, the prospect of steady migration and the continuing effects of globalization are expected to produce more multicultural societies. In addition, this theory focuses on building the metabolism before information bearing compounds like RNA, while other theories focus on creating an RNA world first. However, the idea that hydrothermal vents were the hatchery of life can be compatible for both theories. Similar to how the micro compartments in the vents could have concentration chemicals needed for metabolism to arise, the micro compartments could have also concentrated products needed for organic synthesis of primitive genetic material (Joyce G.F. 2002). Some RNA world theories were criticized because the chemicals in the ocean would be in too low of a concentration to react readily. Therefore, using hydrothermal vents as a concentrating mechanisms would provide concentrations needed to help endergonic reactions proceed (Martin et al. 2008).
