Group is considered one of India’s
largest privately owned groups of

through state, national and
international boards. The Group has
flourishing schools across 18 states and
40 cities in the country. Today, Ryan
Group is well recognized for its
noteworthy contribution to education.
Enduring Adversities Industriously
Dr Snehal has been associated with the
education sector for over the last four
decades. She believes that just like all
sectors of the economy, education also
has its challenges. "The challenges we
faced have only helped us as a group
to align our efforts to our vision and
stay grounded and rooted in values and
our faith and have strengthened me to
emerge as a confident leader in this
segment," shares Dr Snehal.
She also adds that in-spite of various
challenges, Ryan Group has
successfully imparted quality
education in towns such as
Shajahanpur in U.P, Jalna in
Maharashtra, Bolpur in Kolkata, and
Durg-Dhamtari in Chattisgarh yielding
encouraging results.
A Motivated Educator
Dr Snehal states that it has been very
helpful to engage with people across
the capacities they serve the
organization in and beyond. She feels
that it is a blessing to be surrounded
with a learning community seeking to
contribute their best. This has always
motivated her to keep learning in order
to provide the best learning
opportunities for the students and help
them succeed in their life.
Considering the present situation, Dr
Snehal believes that the need of the
hour is to provide the children with
experiential learning opportunities.
According to her, practical learning
st
with cultivation of 21 -century skills of
critical thinking, creativity,
collaboration, communication,
technology literacy, leadership, and
social skills are essential aspects for
the holistic growth of the students.
She believes the New Education Policy
introduced last year outlines a
comprehensive overhaul of the way
institutions operate in the country. "As
part of our holistic approach to
learning and educational excellence,
15.
16. many of Ryan Group's practices
already align with the new policy," Dr
Snehal expresses.
Under her leadership, Ryan Group
remains committed to fostering
industry–academia partnerships to
st
instill 21 -century skills and to provide
new opportunities for students to
‘learn by doing’ and up skill, reskill,
and reinvent themselves. This enables
the students to keep up with an ever-
changing world, and emerge not only
as industry-ready employable youth
but also choose their vocations and
calling to be entrepreneurs. This will
be an ongoing process that will require
both public and private sector
collaboration.
Ensuring Maximum Student
Engagement
Dr Snehal works with utmost
dedication to ensure that Ryan Group
of Schools is focused on building
conceptual understanding among
children. She makes sure that the
teachers are continuously provided
with professional training. She sees to
it that the teachers are mentored to plan
and deliver activity based sessions for
each concept.
"Teachers are encouraged to plan a
week ahead for their sessions. This
helps them to deliver an effective
session that meets the learning
objective for the session," expresses
Dr Snehal. "Collaborative learning
activities like role play, debates and
discussions, learning by doing/
experiential learning, field trips,
project work, case studies, etc. are
planned by the teachers to create an
active and involved set of students who
enjoy the process of learning," she
further states.
Dr Snehal ensures that children are
placed in a group for various activities
so that they develop teamwork and
communication skills required to be
leaders. Her team also identifies their
leadership skills and interests and
provides the right guidance and
support to enhance them in the right
direction. Dr Snehal shares that at
Ryan, students can explore their
abilities through various events
pioneered at school, national, and
international levels such as Indian
Model United Nations, World
Scholar’s Cup, International Children's
Festival, and various International
cultural exchange programs to various
centres based in UK, US, Australia,
Germany, Switzerland, and Italy.
Emphasis on Choosing the Right
Career
In Dr Snehal's eyes, choosing a right
career is one of the major aspects in a
student’s life. There are students who
do not have clarity about what they
want to do in future and which career
path they should take. She believes that
while choosing a career, a student
should primarily understand his/her
area of interest. Self awareness is very
important as it helps in identifying
one’s interests, skills, and talents. Dr
Snehal further opines that seeking
appropriate guidance from the teachers
and school career counselors is
beneficial when a child is confused
about what to choose post college and
university studies.
With constant support from Dr Snehal,
Ryan Group provides opportunities to
the students to discover their talents,
nurture them, and aspire to achieve
their desired goal in life right from
their early years. The institute provides
a plethora of excellent opportunities
through sports, academics, media
studies, environmental awareness
programmes, theatre, art, leadership
and entrepreneurship programmes, and
so on. It offers international exchange
programmes with countries across the
globe, collaboration with foreign
universities, and entities such as
PennHub and the College Board. Ryan
Group provides the students with a
platform which they can further use to
build on and develop their interests and
aspirations as they begin their college
and university life.
Words of Advice for the Leaders of
Tomorrow
In the opinion of Dr Snehal, students
are the core of the entire teaching–
learning process. She believes that they
are the ambassadors and motivators for
their parents and teachers to make
every effort to provide them with the
best learning environment.
She urges students, "Remember that
st
you are living in the 21 -century world,
where rapid changes are taking place
in every field due to the emergence of
technology."
"There are several emerging career
options, and at the same time the
nature of the 'future jobs' remains
Along with construc ng
knowledge and fostering
relevant a tudes and
life skills, we also seek to

spiritual values.
17. unknown. Therefore, make the best of
every opportunity provided to you," she
adds.
Dr Snehal encourages students to equip
themselves with life skills in order to
deal with challenges and create
opportunities. She believes that there is
tremendous scope for students to learn
independently, explore their abilities
st
for time management, develop 21 -
century skills, and take ownership of
their learning journey. Dr Snehal
suggests that students should anchor
themselves to values and be
responsible citizens and lifelong
learners. This will help in contributing
to the betterment of society at large.
Taking Steady Steps Towards the
Future
Dr Snehal states that Ryan Group
believes in excellence in education. As
a nationwide group, the institute's
focus is on innovation, leveraging
technological tools, and implementing
various strategies to integrate the
apps to ensure that children are
engaged in an immersive learning
experience.
According to Dr Snehal, Ryan
Group has many good practices that
are in line with the NEP, which is
something the institute will continue
to build on further in the coming
years. "We will continue with our
efforts to make quality education
available and accessible to all," states
Dr Snehal.
Under her guidance, the institute has
collaborated with different entities to
ensure that even post K-12, the
children get an opportunity to transit
smoothly into higher education to
pursue their interests, develop their
talents, and have a vocation. She
believes that the efforts of Ryan Group
are focused on providing vocational
opportunities in education and skill-
based education.

The Knowledge Review had the
privilege of interviewing Dr Vinita, an
apt figurehead who serves as an
inspiration to many.
Below are the highlights of the
interview:
Kindly brief us about you and your
professional journey since the
beginning of your career. Tell us
about your academic and
professional milestones and the
significant achievements, accolades,
and recognition you have earned in
your career so far.
Currently, I have been working as the
Founder and Director of IIM Bodh
Gaya since February 2018. I have 26
years of rich and varied experience in
academic administration, academics,
research, training and consulting both
in India and abroad. I secured first
class with high ranks throughout my
academic career with PGDM in
Marketing as a major concentration
area, a Gold Medal in M.A. Economics
and a PhD in Customer Value.
I was also a Visiting Professor at
Aarhus University, Denmark, for ten
years (2009-2018). I participated in the
'Global Colloquium on Participant-
Centered Learning (GloColl) at the
Harvard Business School, Boston,
USA and Harvard Centre, Shanghai,
China. I also participated in the
'Developing Leadership, Governance

programme conducted by Leadership
Foundation for Higher Education and
UKIERI in Birmingham, UK.
Any educational institution that

students' welfare and is
motivated to present uncompromising
strategies to resolve issues will
undoubtedly run across predicaments
that call for solutions. Particularly for
the ones that demand being perpetually
resilient in the context of today's
unpredictable times. When it comes to
such circumstances, the administrator
of the establishment ultimately poses
as in charge of ensuring that every
facet of an institution is protruding
excellence and averting all challenges.
Accompanying such strategies for
overcoming adversities as a pioneer in
contemporary educational settings is
Dr Vinita S. Sahay.

21. In the last five years, IIM Bodh Gaya
made remarkable progress on all fronts
under my leadership. As a Founder
Director and Academic leader, I had
two major responsibilities, firstly, to
build a committed team of faculty and
staff with strong work ethics and
commitment to a conducive high-
performance culture, and secondly, to
create a world-class, state-of-the-art
campus.
Prior to IIM Bodh Gaya, I have been
working as a Professor of Marketing at
IIM Raipur since 2012. During these
years, I held several academic
leadership positions, including
Chairperson (International Relations)
and Chairperson (Doctoral
Programmes), along with membership
in many committees.
Prior to joining IIM Raipur, I worked
as a Professor and Chairperson of the
PGDM Programme at IMT Ghaziabad
and other institutions. All throughout
my career, I have carried out my
responsibilities with utmost integrity,
commitment and dedication.
At IIM Bodh Gaya, we have come a
long way, from being an only
employee till July 2018 to a robust
team of about 85 people; it has been an
exhilarating journey. Building the
campus brick by brick has taught me
precious lessons on tenacity,
perseverance, team building, and never
say die spirit and has given me
immense joy and satisfaction of
building something from ground zero.
We are in a very crucial phase of our
AACSB accreditation journey with the
recent visit of the mentor. The next five
years will be to consolidate its position
to be one of the finest business schools
in India.
Tell us about your institute, its
distinct academic solutions,
achievements, mission, vision, and
USPs.
We are setting up IIM Bodh Gaya as a
'Research-based Business School.' We
already have three Full-time
programmes running, and this year we
are launching two new Specialised
MBAs: MBA in Digital Business
Management
MBA in Health and Hospital
Management
We have also established 'Samatvam:
The Centre for Mindfulness.' The core
value ( USP) of the school is
'Mindfulness,' and our vision is to raise
a league of socially responsible
mindful leaders. This distinctive
positioning in the realm of
Mindfulness and Well-being is path-
breaking.
Today, IIM Bodh Gaya is known for
academic excellence, high-quality
research, strong international linkages
and corporate engagement. The
placement has been outstanding for the
last three years. The new campus is a
blissful mix of modern architecture,
culture and heritage of Bodh Gaya. The
campus will be ready next year, and the
new Academic Session will start from
the new campus. We are also working
towards starting an Off-campus IIM
Bodh Gaya in Patna.
Being a prominent leader in the
educational space, what were your
significant contribution to education
in society, the upliftment of academic
structure in the country, and the
development of your institute?
My strong belief in quality,
transparency and process-driven
organisation led to the development
and implementation of some of the key
initiatives like Nine Policy Manuals to
run the school. These initiatives helped
in creating a conducive academic and
research environment on campus to
attract high-quality faculty members
from IIMs, IITs and foreign
universities.
What are the major challenges you
faced in your academic career, and
how did you help your institute
overcome them?
We have come a long way under some
challenging circumstances. All the
issues around land encroachments and
acquisition are behind us. Bringing
diversity to campus was a challenge.
Today, we have students from more
than 170 cities and 28 states: it is a
microcosm of India with about 35 per
cent girls students. As a cohesive team,
we have started many well-conceived
projects, and they are at a critical stage
of take-off. There are several
innovative, ambitious, yet incomplete
tasks and unfinished agendas at this
point in time. Ensuring the success of
new courses is critical.
How do you keep yourself motivated
and inspire your students to choose
an exciting career for a bright
future?
We are a nation with a young
population, and at this juncture, the
only thing which will help us regain
our glory as a prosperous nation is
upgrading, educating, and upskilling
this young population the dream of
visualising my country regain its past
glory keeps me motivated.
Helping our students explore and
recognise their Swa-dharma based on
their talents and passion is IIMBG's
way of helping our students have a
bright future.
What is the next step for you and
your institute?
Our Phase-I construction is on the
verge of completion. Moving into the
new campus with planning and
integration of Phase-II is a priority. To
have global accreditations in place is
essential, and sustaining a culture
which helps everyone to become the
best version of themselves is the top
agenda.

allowed me to carry over this attitude
to Whistling Woods International, and
I am immensely proud of how eagerly
WWI members have embraced this
mindset," mentions Meghna.
Through its course of operation for the
past 16 years, WWI has proudly
associated with several NGOs, namely,
Salaam Baalak Trust and VIDYA
Mumbai - VIDYA Integrated
Development for Youth and Adults, to
offer scholarship to underprivileged
students, who are incredibly passionate
about making their careers in the media
and entertainment industry.
The institute has also partnered with
initiatives like Laadli - A Population

about gender equality, women
empowerment, female foeticide and
cherishing every child; KASHISH

WWI has been conducting various
workshops, at regular intervals, for
NGO children to make them well-
equipped to face life at large. Apart
from associating with NGOs and social
initiatives, WWI has also been
involved in giving back to the society
and mother nature through drives like
Blood & Organ Donation drives and
Clean India Campaign.
Meghna asserts, "The faculty, staff, and
students at WWI understand and
believe in contributing towards CSR
initiatives and observe it as an
essential part of their lives. As Asia's
largest Film, Communication &
Creative Arts institute, WWI has a key
role in the city's social welfare and an
ethical responsibility towards the
environment. From the very beginning,
as a collaborative effort, we help our
students learn, create, and be the
change they aspire to make for the
upliftment of society."
A Better Future
Meghna's biggest motivation comes
from her family, who have supported
her in their ways. Their constant
support encourages her to do more for
the people she works with, the
students, and the world at large.
Meghna's advice for every student is,
"No matter the circumstances, the only
person with the power to shape your
future is you."
She says, "Most importantly, do what
you love and love what you do. I
genuinely believe in this mantra by
Steve Jobs, and it is also the motto of
WWI. Nothing is more fulfilling than
doing something that makes you
happy."
Whistling Woods International
constantly strives to improve the
quality and scope of its educational
offerings in the service of India's film,
communication, and creative arts
industry. Meghna shares, "Our vision
has and will always be to create
leaders and professionals for the
industry. We can achieve this through
our versatility and state-of-the-art
facilities because we focus on the
industry's future just as much as we
consider the present. Our goal is to
provide vocational training in film,
communication, and creative arts to
students of smaller towns and cities all
over the country."
With the Mumbai campus, the institute
is intensely expanding in terms of
programme verticals and campuses.
The newest addition to the academic
repertoire has been the Dept. of Event
Management and Sports and Esports

"My goal and dream are to build an
institution that hones and promotes
education from age 5 to 50. Every
creative individual who wants to make
a mark in this dynamic industry should
be able to attain the highest quality of
education and be successful in what
they do," Meghna concludes.
Our vision has and will

Dynamisms
in India

of
ducation means different things
Eto different people, depending
on their age, occupation, and life
experiences. Here's a brief overview of
what education may mean to a child,
adult, white-collar worker, industrialist
and an Indian:
To a child, education is the process of
learning new skills, knowledge, and
values. It provides a foundation for
understanding the world around them
and prepares them for the future. For
children, education typically takes place
in schools, where they study not only
academic subjects but also social skills,
emotional intelligence, and creativity.
E
28. To an adult, education may represent
an opportunity to acquire new skills or
knowledge, advance their career, or
pursue personal interests. Adult
education can take many forms, such
as attending evening classes, online
courses, or training programs. For
adults, education is often seen as a
means to improve their quality of life
through career advancement, personal
growth, or simply expanding their
horizons.
To a white-collar worker, education is
often closely tied to career
advancement. White-collar workers
may seek further education to gain new
skills or knowledge to help them
advance in their field. Education may
also be seen as a way to stay
competitive in a rapidly changing job
market, particularly in rapidly evolving
industries due to technological
advancements.
To an industrialist, education may be
viewed as a way to develop a skilled
workforce that can help drive
innovation and growth in their
industry. Industrialists may invest in
education initiatives to provide their
employees with the training they need
to succeed in their roles. Additionally,
education can help build the
knowledge and skills necessary for
research and development, which can
lead to new products, processes, and
business models.
The Four Standard Forms of
Education in India:
Various forms of education are
available in India, from formal to
informal and traditional to modern.
Some of the most common forms of
education in India include:
Ÿ Formal education: This includes
primary, secondary, and tertiary
education, typically provided by
schools, colleges, and universities.
areas and between genders.
Ÿ Quality: Quality of education is
another major challenge in India.
While there are many high-quality
educational institutions in the
country, many schools and colleges
struggle with inadequate
infrastructure, a lack of qualified
teachers, and outdated teaching
methods. This can result in low
levels of student learning and
achievement.
Ÿ Curriculum: The curriculum in
Indian schools and colleges is often
criticized for being too focused on
rote learning and memorization
rather than developing critical
thinking and problem-solving
skills. There are efforts underway
to reform the curriculum to make it
more relevant and engaging for
students.
Ÿ Technology: The use of technology
in education is becoming more
common in India, with the
government launching several
initiatives to promote digital
learning. However, there are still
significant disparities in access to
technology, particularly in rural
areas.
Ÿ Private vs Public: Private
education is becoming increasingly
popular in India, particularly higher
education. However, private
education can be expensive and
may not be accessible to all
students. Public education, while
often more affordable, can be
limited by inadequate funding and
infrastructure.
To stay competitive in the global
knowledge economy, India needs to
continue to invest in its education
system, particularly in public education
and teacher training, and focus on
developing the skills and competencies
required for the future job market.
Formal education is often
structured and follows a prescribed
curriculum.
Ÿ Vocational education: This type of
education focuses on developing
practical skills and knowledge that
are directly relevant to a specific
occupation or industry. Vocational
education may be provided through
specialized schools or training
institutes.
Ÿ Distance education: This form of
education involves learning
through correspondence, online
courses, or other remote means.
Working adults who cannot attend
regular classes often use distance
education.
Ÿ Informal education: This type of
education includes learning through
non-formal channels such as
community centres, libraries, and
museums. It may also include on-
the-job training or apprenticeships.
How is Education in India, and
Challenges:
Education in India is a diverse and
complex system that is undergoing
significant reforms to address
longstanding challenges and improve
access to quality education for all.
However, there are also many
opportunities for growth and
improvement, and there are ongoing
efforts to address these challenges and
improve access to quality education for
all.
Here are some key aspects and
challenges facing education in India:
Ÿ Access: Despite significant
progress in recent years, access to
education remains a significant
challenge in India, particularly for
marginalized and disadvantaged
groups. According to government
data, the literacy rate in India is
around 74 per cent, with significant
disparities between rural and urban

32. Mr Debraj Banerjee- A Buoyant
Personality
With 20 years of experience in the
education industry, Mr Debraj has
always been highly optimistic and self-
disciplined. He has completed his post-
graduation in management; after his
education, he has been involved with
prominent industry giants like Siemens
Information System Ltd, SQL Star
International Limited, ICFAI, and SSI
Limited.
Apart from these industries, he has
worked in various education segments,
including Distance Learning, IT
Training (Retail and Corporate), High-
End Training (SAP), and many others.
He has been actively involved in
chalking out strategies and
implementing the same and has
achieved many accolades from his
employers throughout his career.
Evolution of the Idea and Ignition of
ISMS
While communicating about the
evolution of the ISMS institute idea,
Mr Debraj notes, "Indian students are
capable of excelling all over the globe.
But still, there is a lack of awareness
among students about pursuing an
international degree."
ISMS Pune started its journey with the
aim of introducing foreign education to
Indian students. Constituting the same,
the institute introduced MBA
International (Dual Certification
Twinning Program) to provide
foreign education at an affordable
cost.
The twinning MBA program enables
students to study on a dual campus
along with dual certifications, as it
adds significant value to their academic
qualifications. The students also get
systematic study culture, understanding
of the subjects, critical awareness of
current problems, and new insights.
The ISMS also offer multiple options
to move to UK universities. The
institute's inclusive MBA program
enables students to pursue a
management degree with hands-on
experience, which also imparts an
'Earning while Learning' opportunity.
The students can also explore various
work opportunities in the UK and post-
work study permits.
While mentioning the ISMS institute's
journey, Mr Debraj says, "We also
introduced Masters in Sports Business
Management (Twinning Program) for
the students who want to explore their
career in the sports business industry."
The Master's in Sports Business
Management program collaborates
with Leeds Beckett University; it
encourages students to pursue a career
in sports with a combination of theory-
based and practical learning.
With extraordinary sports facilities and
the special advantage of Leeds's Sports
Volunteering Program, the institute has
organized global events such as
Olympics, World Athletics
Championships and Commonwealth
Games that offer permanent career
opportunities to students.
Inspiring Vision and Mission
Statement
Sketching down the vision and mission
of the institute, Mr Debraj states,
"MBA is a lucrative career option,
which always remains in high demand
and will be in demand forever. But still,
the employability ratio for MBA is low.
One of the main reasons behind this
problem is the lack of focus of the
B- Schools towards empowering the
students with relevant skills."
While stating about vision and mission
of ISMS, he further says,
"International School of Management
Studies (ISMS Pune) was founded to
enrich and empower young
management graduates, in academic
excellence, exposing them to the
business and industry world, providing
them with relevant essential
employability skills, core business
ethics, core responsibilities, and
service. Thus, we empower the students
to become individuals with integrity,
innovation ability, and a passion for
business."
"We aim to cultivate a passionate sense
of business among our management
students through applying managerial,
academic knowledge and excellence.
Encouraging students to pursue
innovative pursuits along with
managerial creativity, and guiding
them to serve the industry and society
with renewed inspiration, calibre,
competence and compassion
professionally and humanely," further
he adds.

that provide excellent career
opportunities to the students. He
postulates, "We believe the root of any
revolutionary idea starts with great
quality education. That's why we
introduced MBA programs in
affiliation with Savitribai Phule Pune
University (Pune University) to
provide quality education, life-
changing training, and relatable skill
development programs that are flexible
and accessible to students from all
over India."
"We have a PGP (Post-Graduate
Programme) MBA (Triple
Certification) program to empower
students with practical experience and
extraordinary career development,
which helps the students to stand out in
the corporate world," he adds.
The PGP MBA program is based on a
practical approach that provides
students winter and summer
internships. It also offers hands-on
experience to students before entering
the corporate world.
Apart from the triple certification
(MBA + PGP + Pearson UK), the
program also provides more than ten
certifications that help students to stand
out in the competition.
The PGP MBA (Triple Certification)
imparts the option to students to pursue
their second MBA degree and optional
study tour in the UK, which assists
global exposure to students and
imbibes UK's dynamic work culture
and academics.
While mentioning ISMS's
revolutionary programs, Mr Debraj
states, "We also have MBA in Business
and Innovation (Dual Certification)
with employability training for the
students who aspire to become a
successful leader in the corporate
world."
Further, he says, "The program
provides dual certification, extensive
corporate exposure, life-changing
training, various activities and summer
internship programs that can change
students' life; it also enriches the
knowledge and skills of the students so
that they can become successful
leaders."

a job, and that is why the International
School of Management Studies (ISMS
Pune) emphasizes on empowering
MBA graduates with practical and
relatable skills that not only help them
to get placed but also to become a
successful leader in the corporate
world."
Moreover, the institute conducts
several local and outstation industrial
visits, certification courses, and
workshops by Indian and international
corporate experts. The institute also
conducts mock interviews and
professional training to equip students
with knowledge and ushers aptitude
tests. While sharing the valuable
information, Mr Debraj says, "ISMS
Pune is changing the definition of
MBA."
"Not only that. We engage our students
in specialization-based club activities,
cultural, CSR, sports, and outbound
activities to make students the young
managers and leaders of tomorrow,
empathetic employers, and socially
responsible citizens. Meanwhile, we
are focusing on their holistic
personality development," he further
notes.
Future Roadmap of ISMS
Stretching the future of the institute,
Mr Debraj asserts, "With outstanding
qualities like international standard
classrooms, experiential learning
methodology, excellent faculties,

System
Benefits and
Astrengthened education
system can benefit society
from all demographics, as
education is a fundamental right and
can significantly impact an individual's
life chances and opportunities.
However, certain demographics may
benefit more from a strengthened
education system due to historical and
systemic inequalities that have
impacted their access to education and
opportunities for success.
A strengthened education system can
provide greater access to resources,
support services, and opportunities for
academic and personal growth for all
individuals. This can help to promote
social mobility, reduce inequalities,
and increase opportunities for success
and well-being.

48. access to resources, support
services, and academic and
personal growth opportunities.
There are several benefits of a
strengthened education system; one of
them is that it can shape the future of
learning by improving the way people
gain access to quality education for
better and more informed living.
Below are some other benefits of a
strengthened education system:
Ÿ Personalized learning: A
strengthened education system can
support the development of
personalized learning approaches,
which can help students learn in
ways that are tailored to their
individual needs, interests, and
strengths. This can help students
stay engaged in learning and
achieve better outcomes.
Ÿ Technology integration: A
strengthened education system can
support the integration of
technology in teaching and
learning, which can enhance
students' access to information,
promote collaboration and
communication, and support new
forms of learning and assessment.
Ÿ Critical thinking and problem-
solving: A strengthened education
system can prioritize the
development of critical thinking
and problem-solving skills, which
are essential for success in the 21st
century. This can involve the
integration of interdisciplinary and
project-based learning approaches
that challenge students to apply
their knowledge and skills to real-
world problems.
Ÿ Life skills and well-being: A
strengthened education system can
support the development of life
skills and well-being among
students, which can help them to
thrive in all areas of their lives.
This can involve the integration of
social-emotional learning,
mindfulness practices, and
opportunities for physical activity
and creative expression.
Ÿ Global citizenship: A strengthened
education system can promote
global citizenship, which can help
students to develop an
understanding of and appreciation
for diverse cultures, perspectives,
and ways of life. This can involve
the integration of global education
approaches, such as service
learning, international exchanges,
and cross-cultural collaborations.
Note that a strengthened education
system has a great potential to shape
the future of learning by promoting
innovation, equity, and excellence in
education and by preparing students for
the challenges and opportunities of the
21st century. By investing in education,
we can create a brighter future for all.
In conclusion, a strengthened education
system is critical for shaping the future
of learning. By providing equitable
access to high-quality education,
promoting innovation and technology
integration, prioritizing the
development of critical thinking and
problem-solving skills, supporting life
skills and well-being, and promoting
global citizenship, we can prepare
students for success in the 21st century.
However, education systems face many
challenges, including access and
quality, funding, teacher shortages,
curriculum relevance, and
technological infrastructure. To
overcome these challenges, it is
important to invest in education and
work collaboratively to develop and
implement effective strategies that
meet the needs of students and the
broader community. By doing so, we
can create a brighter future for all.
Some Demographics/Individuals
That Will Benefit from a
Strengthened Education are:
Ÿ Low-income families: Low-
income families may benefit more
from a strengthened education
system as they often face
significant barriers to accessing
high-quality education.
Strengthened education systems
can provide increased access to
resources, support services, and
academic and personal growth
opportunities.
Ÿ Minority groups: Minority groups,
such as Indigenous peoples, racial
and ethnic minorities, and refugees,
may also benefit more from a
strengthened education system.
Historically, these groups have
faced systemic discrimination and
marginalization that have limited
their access to education and
opportunities for success.
Strengthened education systems
can help to address these disparities
and provide greater access to
quality education and opportunities
for personal and professional
growth.
Ÿ Women and girls: Women and
girls may benefit more from a
strengthened education system, as
they have historically faced barriers
to access education and success
opportunities. Strengthened
education systems can help to
promote gender equality and
provide women and girls with
greater access to education and
opportunities for personal and
professional growth.
Ÿ Students with disabilities:
Students with disabilities may also
benefit more from a strengthened
education system, as they often
face significant barriers to
accessing education and support
services. Strengthened education
systems can provide increased

beyond simply imparting knowledge.
GGI is an Edtech firm which offers an

institutes or business study programs to
upskill their management and
leadership skills. With the help of GGI,
Shatakshi Sharma empowers not only
the youths but also the women; through
GGI, she is changing the lives of the
women and youth.
In an interactive conversation with The
Knowledge Review, we crossed the
path of the Global Governance

founder and Co-CEO of the Insitute
Shatakshi Sharma, who has been
igniting the lights in the women's and
the youth's careers. While interacting,
she shared her journey with GGI and
the future vision of GGI.
After knowing a gist about Shatakshi
Shama and her initiative, dive down to

leader who believes in empowering.
A Tale of Curious and an Inspiring
Leader
In 2013, Shatakshi decided to prepare
for the CAT exam, as it was her father's
desire. Nevertheless, she failed
horribly because her heart was not
ready for it. However, she did not get
admission to IIM Institutes.
Later, she realized that she had chosen
a battle in which the cards were
stacked against her, and then she
picked the GMAT, which took three
tries to pass. Despite having challenges
during her tests, she turned herself into
a living example of how to manage a
career. She learned during her MBA
journey how India's culture of tests and
coaching had been exaggerated during
her MBA experience.
After working in highly intellectual
ecosystems like Boston Consulting
Group (BCG), she realized that one
does not require a 99.9 percentile to
work and thrive in such an
opportunistic ecosystem. As famous
Nassim Taleb once said, "I suspect
I.Q., SAT, and grades are tests
designed by nerds so they can get high
scores in order to call each other
intelligent."
She observed that in 2022 over 2 lakh
students appeared for the CAT
examination, but only 5,500 got seats
in IIM Institutes, only 2.7 per cent of
the crowd got a chance to study
business from the top league in India.

uman existence constantly
Hevolves, and humans find it
challenging to resist
continuous changes.
However, when humans face problems
frequently, they get demoralized and
flooded with questions about what is
good and wrong for them. In their
gloomy minds, questions about what
they want from their of life, what is
best for their futures, and many other
things arise.
In order to get out of it, the human
seeks out the flame that can correct
them and direct them in the proper
direction. Having said that, a strong
leader is always regarded as one who
aids others, finds solutions to their
difficulties, and directs them in the
proper direction.
A great leader invariably ignites a
flame of positivity in the lives of others
and empowers them to grow as leaders
in their own lives. John Maxwell aptly
summed up the qualities of successful
leaders when he remarked, "Leaders
become great, not because of their
capacity to empower others."
While saying so, Shatakshi Sharma is

Now, she is known as a

With the most helpful MBA and

Express your views on online

teaching.
While expanding the horizons of
learning, we took it as an excellent
opportunity. Online education and
technology-assisted teaching have
helped many students pick up concepts
better as the new methodology appeals
to their diverse learning inclinations.
From the beginning, we assess the
learning patterns in our students during
their journey at ST PAULS with
various pre-course assessments, which
help us design course plans
accordingly and the advent of online
classes, thanks to the pandemic, has
helped us expand our horizons of
learning and teaching practices.
What are the significant challenges
that the education sector in India
faces today? What
initiatives/programs have you
launched to overcome it?
Today, much emphasis is laid on
passing one exam with a high
percentage of marks, while a very
narrow focus is on holistic learning.
We have a sound advanced and slow
learners program, bridge courses and
innovative internal assessment
practices that allow us to encourage
students to learn concepts rather than
focus on high marks alone.
