The present study made an attempt to gain insights on determinants and psychosocial consequences of early marriage on rural women. Samples of 300 women who married early and have completed 5 to 15 years of married life were taken from 20 villages of district Bhilwara, Rajasthan as it has highest instances of child marriages. In depth investigation employed the use of interview, FGDs, observation and case study method. Research was based in district. Baseline Proforma and SES scale (self developed) was used to get the necessary details regarding the socio-economic status and demographic characteristics of respondents and their families. DEM scale (self developed), PSC Scale (self developed) and life satisfaction scale (Alam & Shrivastava, 1973) were used for data collection. Statistical test i.e. ‘z’ test, ANOVA, Regression & Pearson’s ‘r’ were applied to find out the results.
The findings of the study revealed that age at marriage is governed by various components of socio-economic status with traditions & customs, lack of education, childhood residence and castes. Effect of mass media was not found as hypothesized. Media is only meant for entertainment by rural people. The study also highlighted psycho-social consequences (PSC components) of early marriage. It was found that child marriage increases exploitation of girl child and loss of her adolescence along with denial of education & freedom, inadequate socialization & personal development and violence & abandonment. Access to contraception is highly correlated with age at marriage i.e. the lower the age at marriage lower the knowledge and less access of contraception.
The multiple regression analysis in predicting age at marriage and its determinants reveal that the Beta coefficient reflect the socio- economic status of the family and in which a girl belongs has more considerable contribution in terms of early marriage while traditions and customs follow the socio-cultural perseverance in predicting age at marriage. It is also depicted from the regression analysis that the ill consequences of early marriage in earlier ages have more awful effects on girl child. On the whole, it was found that early marriage itself means exploitation of girl child and loss of adolescence. This factor is highly significant in all studied age groups. They are treated as homely bird which means confined to four walls of house. Overall dissatisfaction level is high with the respondents who get married at the early age. There are significant correlation found between determinants and psycho-social consequences of early marriage and inter-correlation among LS and SES components.

In 1948, the World Health Organization (WHO) defined health with a phrase that is still used today. "Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." WHO, 1948.
In 1986, the WHO further clarified that health is: "A resource for everyday life, not the objective of living. Health is a positive concept emphasizing social and personal resources, as well as physical capacities."
This means that health is a resource to support an individual's function in wider society. A healthful lifestyle provides the means to lead a full life.
TYPES OF HEALTH
Mental and physical health are the two most commonly discussed types of health.
We also talk about "spiritual health," "emotional health," and "financial health," among others. These have also been linked to lower stress levels and mental and physical well being.
Physical health
Physical health involves proper functioning of all body parts. When they are all working at peak performance due not only to a lack of disease, but also to regular exercise, balanced nutrition, and adequate rest.
Mental health
Mental health refers to a person's emotional, social, and psychological wellbeing. Mental health is as important as
physical health to a full, active lifestyle. Mental health is not only the absence of depression, anxiety, or another
disorder.
It also depends on the ability to: enjoy life , bounce back after difficult experiences, achieve balance, adapt to adversity, feel safe and secure, and achieve your potential.

The provisional data of 2011 Census has once again highlighted the problem of severe sex imbalance in the country, especially in 0 6 age group. According to Census of 2011, the sex ratio in 0 6 year’s age group has declined to 914 females per 1000 males as compared to 927 in 2001. It shows an increasing trend of male preference as compared to female in the last decade. The phenomenon of son preference is coupled with death of young females due to lack of medical care, under nutrition, female infanticide, and sex selective abortions. Sen 1992, 2003 first addressed the disturbing trend by highlighting that millions of females in India are missing because of widespread neglect in health care, nutrition and prenatal care. The steep decline in sex ratio in northern and western states is a cause of worry. Technological developments permitting sex selective abortions have seriously aggravated sex imbalance in these states. The trend of rapid decline in sex ratio has given rise to serious social, demographic and cultural problems. After four week, I have learned many things about my new host village. After fourth week learning’s and understanding sharing with my other team members, we have decided that we should more focus on agricultural activities of the family and apart from this we should also focus on the income and expenses of the family throughout the year. So, I tried to explore my learning through long discussion with the family members and other farmers in the village.
Phase 6 Village study and Srijan's project understandings at Chhindwara
After three week, I have learned many things about my host village. In previous three week I have seen many regular activities of the farmers, men, women, children, younger and older people, relatives, guests and friends of the village people and other people who involved in the village activities externally like middleman, feriwala, business professionals, government employee etc. There activities helped me to learn many things about the village life day to day.

The motivation for the first week field stay was to achieve my learning goals along with an opportunity to get exposure of the village life, learn various sub systems in the village, their livelihoods patterns and their inter-relations. In the second week, I understood the realty of village lifestyle and learn many things with the interaction of female. Sometimes I was think that how village people are not much aware for their rights and daily activities in the home but staying two week with villagers, I could understood that what is the reason. They have limited resource like water, land, finance, knowledge etc. but they manage everything in this.

Village study and srijan's project understandings at chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh
In first week of June month, I have focus on some socio economic conditions of the village for my depth learning and understanding. For it I have stayed different families for a week and did informal interviews of all the households’ members.
There are some indicators which have helped me to learn and understand the socio-economic condition of the families and village of Loniya Maru.
Village study and Srijan's project understandings at Duni, Rajasthan
In August month I explored and learned the village level understandings of Aakodiya village and how villagers manage their daily life with available resources in their own village and also learned that what factors affected and supported villager’s daily life. For that I focused the observation and personal interviews technique to understand the livelihoods pattern of the village.
In September month I have explored project based understandings and learned the process of activities at different stages. There are different type of meetings which helped me to understand the major activities and responsibilities of Srijan’s and Maitree’s staff members. This was the first way to connect with the people who are playing the major role to mobilize the people and facilitate them under the respective project. There was another way to understand the running projects with involvement as participatory approach. So I involved me some activities like different kind of meetings, direct interaction with community people and deep interaction with TL, PPs, SLPPs, Pashu Sakhi, Krishi Sakhi, SHG’s members, Rout supervisors, BMCU staff and MCC secretaries, Srijan office staffs etc. The overall learning’s and findings are satisfactory for me in this month after active participation at different stages. There are some activities, understandings and learnings of this month explained by me below.

Visa Steel is a minerals, metals, and energy conglomerate based in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. It has business interests in steel, power, cement, and infrastructure. Visa Steel's CSR activities include education through scholarships and schools, healthcare through medical camps and disease awareness, rural development through borewells and employment, and sponsoring sports and cultural events. It has 12 professionals who conduct need assessment surveys and plan CSR strategies without partnering with outside organizations. Challenges include lack of community participation and opposition from locals. The company's strengths are participatory planning and viewing CSR as a business process rather than philanthropy. This will help increase revenue, improve customer service, and support new lines of business through IT enablement. The project is expected to benefit customers through improved financial inclusion, government service delivery, and logistics, as well as benefit employees and India Post.

centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.

- 4. Over the eight year period, HDI has risen by 21 per cent compared to a rise of 18 per cent in India’s (2000-2010). HDI increase largely guided by a 28.5 per cent increase in the Education index. While the education index has pulled up the HDI, it is the health index which constrains its improvement.
- 5. Human development indicators for SCs, STs and Muslims converging with the national average – a move towards social inclusion. The eight poorer states – Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, are home to nearly 48 per cent of all SCs, 52 per cent of the STs and 44 per cent of all Muslims in the country. States doing well, do it across the board – for all social groups
- 6. Done remarkably well in human development : north eastern states (excluding Assam) HDI: below the national average: Chhattisgarh, Orissa, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Assam
- 7. Achievements Consistently declining incidence of poverty. SC poverty rate is declining faster than the national average, but STs’ poverty is falling slower. Rising consumption and wages between 2004/5 and 2012/13. Declining unemployment rate. A further decline in child labour. Increasing participation of females in education is reducing female labour force participation
- 8. There are only very limited achievements in the area of nutrition. Challenge of high malnutrition compounded by continuing Social Inclusion/exclusion. India is the worst performer in terms of low birth weight (28%), underweight and wasting among children in BRIC and SAARC counties.
- 9. SCs, STs & Muslims are converging with IMR national average - fall in IMR has been sharper in case of STs compared to SCs. Convergence in case of SCs & Muslims; but STs see a rise in TFR - Maximum fall in fertility rate experienced by Muslims along with a sharp increase in CPR. Despite an increase in number of toilets, open defecation remains the single largest threat to health & nutritional status
- 10. Decline in inter-State variation in literacy rate, so poor States are converging with richer one. Convergence across social groups in literacy rate, thereby implying social inclusion. Improvement in net enrolment ratio (NER) atall levels. India is home to the largest chunk of illiterates. Illiterates among Muslims concentrated in 3 States (UP, BIHAR, WB). Female illiteracy in rural India is a major challenge holding back social inclusion. High drop-out rate is a major hindrance in success of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. Decline in attendance at higher level of education, again a challenge for SSA. Low mean years of schooling is a major challenge for inclusive growth .
- 11. Two-third of Indians now reside in pucca houses. Electrification probably holds the greatest reward in terms of multiplier effects on human Development. A greater proportion of Muslims than SCs and STs live in pucca houses mostly due to their urban concentration. with 66 per cent of the total population living in pucca houses. But one-third of Indians still reside in kutcha or semi-pucca houses.
- 12. Sharp Decline in Percentage of Working and No-where Children. Children Work Participation Rate has been Declining, with Girl Child WPR Falling at a Faster Rate. In terms of Child Work Participation Rate Muslims are doing better than STs. Not only Convergence of Child WPR of SCs with national average but also they are performing better.
