Inclusion Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of inclusion can be both challenging and rewarding. The
complexity arises from the multifaceted nature of inclusion, encompassing a wide range of
social, cultural, educational, and political dimensions. To effectively address the topic, one must
delve into various perspectives, considering inclusion in the context of diversity, equality, and
social justice.
Crafting an inclusion essay requires a thorough understanding of the subject matter and the
ability to navigate through sensitive issues. It involves examining the historical context of
inclusion, the challenges faced by marginalized groups, and the evolving dynamics of inclusivity
in contemporary society. Additionally, one must explore the role of institutions, policies, and
individuals in promoting inclusive practices.
The difficulty also lies in presenting a balanced view, acknowledging the progress made in
fostering inclusion while critically analyzing the existing gaps and barriers. It requires a nuanced
approach to avoid oversimplification and to recognize the intersectionality of identities and
experiences.
Furthermore, an inclusion essay should be well-researched, drawing on a variety of sources to
support arguments and provide a comprehensive understanding of the topic. The writer must be
adept at synthesizing information and presenting it in a coherent and engaging manner.
Despite these challenges, writing an inclusion essay can be fulfilling, as it allows the author to
contribute to ongoing conversations about social change and inclusivity. It provides an
opportunity to advocate for a more equitable and diverse world, fostering understanding and
empathy among readers.
In conclusion, tackling the subject of inclusion in an essay demands careful consideration,
empathy, and a commitment to promoting positive change. It is a task that requires both
intellectual engagement and emotional intelligence, making it a valuable exercise in enhancing
one's critical thinking and communication skills.

Segmentation and Target Market
Segmentation and Target Market The three major players in the soft drink market are
PepsiCo, Inc., the Coca Cola Company, and the Dr. Pepper Snapple Group (Change
Lab Solutions, n.d.). All of them use effective market segmentation to target specific
markets. Effective target marketing requires that marketers, segment the market, by
identifying and profiling to find a distinct group of buyers who differ in their wants
and needs (Kotler Keller, 2012). They target their specific product to one or more
market segments they have identified, and for each target segment establish and
communicate the distinctive benefit of the company s products to position
themselves in the market. Coca Cola and Pepsi Cola retain the first and second...

Snacking is a national pastime, so the snack foods: pretzels, chips, multi grain
snacks, granola bars, cookies cereal, rice sides, eat and heat foods, would target all
markets.
Behavioral Segmentation
Behavioral segmentation divides buyers into groups based on their knowledge,
attitude towards, use of, or response to a product (Kotler Keller, 2012). When it
comes to needs and benefits, you would primarily see health conscious individuals
or parents buying for their families; water, healthy oatmeal, juices, maybe diet soda,
multi grain snacks, and Quaker granola bars. In the decision role, we have the
initiator, influencer, decider, buyer, and user (Kotler Keller, 2012). In most families
everyone has a thought or opinion; however, in the end the buyer who does the
grocery shopping makes the final decision. All of the products in the PepsiCo
beverage and food line are for all occasions, a user would be any consumer wishing
to make a purchase, and the usage rate would vary as much as the type of food or
beverage would vary. Loyalty status is a place where with the right advertising and
marketing, PepsiCo could possibly position themselves to the number one position.
Loyal Coca Cola drinkers are a large target market, but getting them to choose a
different brand over the one they have been loyal to for a lifetime takes some work.
When Coca Cola made the mistake of changing their recipe for a short time, this
gave Pepsi a chance to steal some

Essay about Abraham Lincoln s Assassination
Abraham Lincoln, the sixteenth President of the United States was elected president
on November 6 in the year 1860. Not even on the South s ballot, Lincoln received
40% of the popular vote. As a strong republican, Lincoln believed in the abolition of
slavery. Lincoln became president in the highest conflict between North and South in
history and wanted to preserve the Union. He believed that the South should not be
punished after the Civil War because he thought that they had already been punished
enough from the war. Abraham Lincolns lenient policies caused him to be hated by
both the North and the South. He believed that all should be treated with respect and
wanted to find a compromise between the feuding sides of the Civil War.... Show

During the War, the Confederates general was Robert E. Lee; the best general in the
United States, and the Union s main general was Ulysses S. Grant. After several
Union victories, including those of Vicksburg and Gettysburg in 1863, it became
clear the North would win. On April 3 of 1865, Richmond, the capital of the
Confederacy since May of 1865, fell to the Union forces. Then, less than a week later,
General Robert E. Lee surrendered at the Appomattox Courthouse, nearly ending the
war.
John Wilkes Booth became a professional actor at the age of seventeen (Reilly,

Lincoln would be not be re elected for his second term and became angry when he

Booth uttered the words What an excellent chance I had, if I wished, to kill the
President on Inauguration day! (Swanson, 2006, p. 6). Shortly after the war, Lincoln
gave a speech outlining his plans for peace and reconstruction for the country. Upon

Financial Instruments – Other-Than-Temporary

Financial Instruments Other Than Temporary Impairment 1. For the following
investments, determine if OTT should record an other than temporary impairment as
of December 31, 20X1, and if so, for what amount:
Happy New Year amp; Co.
* Since the fair value of investment is less than its cost, the Company should
proceed to step 2 for identifying and accounting for impairment. However, there is
no indication that OTT does not expect the fair value of the security to fully recover
before the expected time of sale. The Company actually does not believe the decline
in price to be permanent. In addition, it does not intend to sell this investment in the

* It should be the entire difference between the investment s cost and its fair value at
the balance sheet date of the reporting period for which the assessment is made. So,
the recorded amount is (100 72) * 50 = $1,400.
(FASB 320 10 35 34)
3. Assume the same facts as in 2 above, but that OTT has not yet determined whether
an impairment exists or the amount of any possible impairment. For March Madness
Incorporated, would OTT still conclude that the investment is other than temporarily
impaired, and would the impairment charge as of December 31, 20X1, be different if
the stock price at issuance of the financial statements (i.e., as of January 31, 20X2)
was $95 and not $75?
* Unless it is clear that the impairment is deemed other than temporary, we cannot
conclude that the investment is other than temporarily impaired. For the second part
of the question, the charge will not be different because it depends on the fair value at
the balance sheet date, not the issuance date.
(FASB 320 10 35 33 and 34)
4. For Tohoku Toys, determine if OTT should record an other than temporary
impairment as of December 31, 20X1.
* OTT does not believe that the restructuring will ultimately be successful. So, an
other than temporary impairment should be considered to have occurred if the
Company intends to sell them or not.

Theme Of The Signalman And The Signalman
In Gothic Literature, writers are able to choose between traditional and contemporary.
This style of writing typically relates back to fiction that gives an atmosphere of
uncertainty by featuring horror, death, curses or the supernatural. In The Signalman
written by Charles Dickens, we can depict that his writing falls under the category of
traditional gothic literature as he chooses to stress the fear of the unknown whether it
be the setting or the supernatural. On the contrary, Roald Dahlwho wrote Lamb to the
Slaughter chooses to write under the category of contemporary gothic literature, as
we are introduced to a familiar setting, and common issues that arise when we face
reality. Nevertheless, both stories choose to emphasize the... Show more content on

For Dickens, the recurrence of insanity would make sense as his style of writing tends
to include the supernatural and the paranormal, however, for Dahl, the recurrence of
insanity would come as a shock to many since contemporary gothic literature includes
more events that familiar and realistic. Dickens characters insanity can be seen in the
quote How your imagination misleads you because once the Signalman saw the
individual that appeared to him, his mind began racing with thoughts that seemed to
overwhelm him. He couldn t think straight as his mind was focused on figuring out
what it was and why it seemed to warn him, and this ultimately led to his demise. By
zooming in on the word misleads , it evidently shows us how he was involuntarily
submerged with thoughts that drowned him and how failing to control his sanity led
to his downfall, and later, his death. Additionally, the quote May have been infection
in his mind similarly shows us how the appearance of the individual almost triggered
this thought that infected his mind and rid him of thoughts that were unperturbed. He
thought that he was seeing things, and not experiencing them, and because of that, he
had a strenuous yet continuous fight with his judgment and let it overcome him
easily. By zooming into the word infection , we see how inauspicious it is, it wasn t
The Role Of Colonial Slavery And Modern Governance
Towards...
From Dar salaam to Dakar, Johannesburg to Monrovia the African continent, like no
other continent has had most foreign influence. It has altered peoples taste and want;
others view of pleasure and some others understanding of a good life. Nelson
Mandela in his famous biography said the white man s coming to Africachanged even
the smallest of our ways to the larges ECONOMY. In this literature I would be
looking at the role of colonial slaveryto modern governance towards economic
development. How from the 15 century to date, Ghana has been influence by colonial
force into it post colonial days to current times.
Until the arrival of the first European country to the shore of West Africa (Ghana)
most of the people lived closely together as tribes in small villages. They were
relatively large towns where paramount chief lived. These towns were the center of
both political and economic activities. Because of the self sustaining nature of these
villages there was not much economic exchange betweens household
(Microeconomics). If the was need for furniture the forest provided wood. Every
family could hunt for game or fish for fish. If there was any major exchange of
goods and service on any substantial scale it was the Ashanti who through the
northern trade, traded in Gold with the Muslim Caravans from North African and the
Middle East. Gold was the major product of the Ashanti Empire. The king Osei Tutu
the co founder of the Ashanti empire around 1701 made the gold mines
Tower Of Hercules Research Paper
1st Source Tower of Hercules The Tower of Hercules has served as a lighthouse and
landmark at the entrance of La CoruГ±a harbour in north western Spain since the late
1st century A.D. when the Romans built the Farum Brigantium. The Tower, built on
a 57 metre high rock, rises a further 55 metres, of which 34 metres correspond to the
Roman masonry and 21 meters to the restoration directed by architect Eustaquio
Giannini in the 18th century, who augmented the Roman core with two octagonal
forms. Immediately adjacent to the base of the Tower, is a small rectangular Roman
building. The site also features a sculpture park, the Monte dos Bicos rock carvings
from the Iron Age and a Muslim cemetery. The Roman foundations of the building
were revealed in excavations conducted in the 1990s. Many legends from the Middle

According to myth, it also marks the resting place of one of Hercules greatest
conquests. Built around the 2nd century and originally known as the Farum
Brigantium or Brigantia Lighthouse the structure looks as though it could have
been built just decades ago. The beacon is located atop a small hill promontory
that was likely chosen by its ancient Roman builders not only for its view of the
sea, but the spot may also have been a sacred space dedicated to the demigod
Hercules. As part of one of the mythic Twelve Labors of Hercules, the super strong
son of Zeus is said to have killed the giant Gerylon with an arrow dipped in Hydra s
blood. Then in a gesture that is more Celtic than Roman, the legend says that
Hercules buried the giant with his weapons and ordered a city built atop the burial
site. While the area where the tower is built was rather barren when it was originally
built, the surrounding city of Corunna has sprung up around it across the

INTRODUCTION:
The development of Information System is an extraordinary advancement in the
business sectors, thus playing an important role in revolutionizing the modern
corporate business world. A wide range of people use internetfor emailing,
developing databases, to gather information on various arenas. Hence incorporating
the resources of internet in business environment help in forming business
solutions like system designing, email communication, developing software apps
etc. (Granger Schroeder, 1996, p. 85). IT is currently serving a major role in all
kind of business processes. Hence a relation between IT and business can likely be
compared to nervous system and good health. Business leaders having smart senses
will definitely embrace this. (McCormack, 2006, p. 2) But there are some negative
impacts as well. In this essay, the impacts of internet in the business in the disguise of
emerging technologies like Web 2.0and Web 3.0, their strategic competitive
advantages will be critically evaluated and analysed. Also the benefits and drawbacks
of the internet will be compared and contrasted here.

Perfect Life And Perfect Families
Perfect Life and Perfect Families What is a perfect life or perfect family? From an
outsider looking in, what does that life look like for you? Is the pressure of
comparing your family with others and realizing that you do not measure up to
what you see? We all have dreams of what our ideal life would be. Sometimes these
are prompted by the model families that we have seen, or perhaps they are the
dreams we had of what our own familyshould be like. Is there such a thing as perfect
families or the perfect life? In the movie Junoand American Beauty some of these
families try so hard to look picture perfect, however they are far from it. Remember
that looks can be deceiving and comparison unfair. In the movie Juno, sixteen year
old Juno is the type of girl that beats to her own drum, and doesn t really care what
other people think of her. Juno ends up pregnant from her boyfriend, Paulie
Bleeker. So she decides to have the baby and give the baby up for adoption. Juno
finds the perfect couple to adopt her baby. She finds Mark and Vanessa Loring, a
yuppie couple living in the suburbs. Juno likes the Loring s and in some respect has
found what looks to be kindred spirits in Mark, with whom she shares a love of
grunge music and horror films. Vanessa is a little more uptight and is the one in the
relationship seemingly most eager to have a baby. Juno enters a closed adoption
contract with the Loring s. Throughout the film you find out just how imperfect Mark

Texas all through the time of 1836 1876. So, with all these different versions of the
constitution of Texas the real question is where did Texas get the foundation for its
constitution? The answer is from the U.S constitution, which leads to the purpose of

The Texas constitution is very long and detailed. The Texas constitution is long and
detailed because of provisions that specifically tells the government what they can or

about interpreting it to their advantage or disadvantage. Instead any person with the
power inside of the government, if they wish to act outside of laws stated in the Texas
constitution must have to amend the constitution. Now for the United States
constitution, it is very brief and broad which allows the government to interpret it
any way they would like in a sense. By doing this they can claim their implied
powers to meet any specific circumstances that must do with public policy. When it
comes to civil liberties the United states constitution are listed as the bill of rights
which are just amendments listed versus the Texas constitution which are also called

II. Research Questions
What does it feel like to be a fat person in a cultural context in which fat is reviled?
(Lupton, 2013, p. 67).
How are fat bodies discriminated against, how do fat people feel about their bodies
and their weight loss efforts, what their experiences of moving around in space and

Should fatness be considered a disability? (Lupton, 2013, p. 67)
III. Main Argument
In this chapter, Lupton examines how overweight people experience life in society
and how negative views of being overweight affect said people. She concludes that
overweight people face a plethora of challenges in everyday life for a multitude of
reasons (Lupton, 2013, p. 67 68). Overweight people experience discrimination on
multiple levels, which can lead to negative health outcomes. This leads to the
question, are fat people sick because they are fat, or because social factors

Censorship In Education
Censorship In the Education System Often times, many ask why tools used to

With religious, political, and moral censorshipthe affects on a child s learning is

Giotto In The Arena Chapel
Masterpieces in art was traditionally known as a work done with extraordinary skill;
especially a supreme intellectual or artistic achievement. The works of Giotto in the
Arena chapel are classified as masterpieces because, these pieces signal the time of
Giotto establishing his own style that would then spread throughout Italy. Many of
his contemporaries recognized his talent, Renaissanceartists and writers insisted that
Giotto was their true artistic ancestor. At few other moments in the history of
painting has a single artists work led to so rapid, widespread and a complete change

While Masaccio was experimenting with capturing realism of the human anatomy,
the Manuscript emphasizes the blood of Christ rather than the body of Christ. The
manuscript opens with three pages that seem to foreshadow the book s contents.
Each is covered with several bright red drops of blood raining down against a black
background (Areford, 76). As shown in The Five Wounds Of Christ instead of
focusing on the body of Christ, the piece focuses on the wounds in the hands and
feet of Christ, with the center containing the heart with a bloody lance pierced
through it. The wounds of Christ are further emphasized by the grain in the wood
of the cross, whose pattern mimics that of wounds. The manuscripts focused on the
symbolism of the blood, Each leaf, is covered in dense layers of carefully painted
wounds of varying shades of red, one on top of the other, each dripping with blood.
The painting creates the unsettling impression that the pages are profusely bleeding.

Exposure and Behavoiral Therapies

Exposure and Behavioral Therapies

In psychotherapy there are many different ways that a therapist can decide how to
treat a client. In my paper I will discuss how Exposure Therapy and Behavioral
Therapy work together with a client. I will focus on the nature of the problem, the
process of change, theory in practice, multicultural considerations, and the types of
clients and clinical problems.
The Nature of the Problem: In both Exposure and Behavioral Therapy the main
focus is on anxiety. These anxieties area conditioned response (Prochaska Norcross,

Multicultural Considerations: Cultural differences may see exposure therapy as
worse than the disorder (Prochaska Norcross, 2005, p.252). Therapist should show
empathy with clients instead of using terrifying visualization scenes for the client to
deal with. In Exposure therapy the therapist s empathy is used as a more freighting
scene. Trauma victims in search of sensitivity, support, and empowerment are
provided more, higher decibel pain. When there is no empathic and caring
relationship between clinician and client, psychotherapy, is not worth doing
(Prochaska Norcross, 2005, p. 252). In these therapies the therapist focuses on the
behavior or feared stimulus, rather than deal with feels as much. Feelings of anxiety
will be talked about while the client is going through the process of visualization, and
at the end of the visualization to rate where their anxiety is. Strengths include a
collaborative relationship between therapist and client in working toward mutually
agreed upon goals, continual assessment to determine if the techniques are suited to
clients unique situation, assisting clients in learning practical skills, an educational
focus, and stress on self management strategies (Corey. 2005, p.485). With the client
and therapist on the same page about how to work through the anxiety they can
determine together would be more productive and helpful for the client. The therapist
also needs to help the client with consequences

Strength Characteristics Of Slurry Infiltrated Fibre...
The main objective of this research programme is to find out the strength
characteristics of Slurry Infiltrated Fibre Reinforced Concrete (SIFCON) using fly
ash as a partial replacement to cement by 20%. The strength formed after 7th, 14th
and 28th days from the time and date of casting are studied in detail. In this
investigation the different fibres planned for usage are Galvanised Iron Fibre (GIF),
High Density Polyethylene Fibre (HDPEF).
The cement sand slurry used is of the proportion 1:2 with a water cement ratio 0.6.
The percentage of fibres (by volume fraction) used in the experimentation is 6 % for
mono fibres.

INTRODUCTION
Nowadays, we talk much about high performance concrete. It has higher strength,
better durability and elasticity. Although high strength concrete is often considered as
relatively new material, its development has been gradually taking place over many
years.
In the discussion of high performance concrete role played by FRC is vital. FRC is
defined as a composite material which consists of conventional concrete reinforced
by randomly dispersed short length fibres of specific geometry, made up of steel,
synthetic material or natural fibres. The fibres are distributed evenly throughout the
mix without balling or clustering. The randomly oriented fibres help to bridge and
arrest the cracks. As such, crack widening is gradual as compared to plain concrete.

1.a.What is the relationship between accounting income and economic profit?
Answer: Accounting income is calculated by taking revenues and subtracting all cash
and non cash expenses (such as depreciation). Accounting income also often
recognizes losses for tax purposes as well, even though the economic loss may have
taken place at another time. Economic profit is the sum of the present values of all
the cash flows net of expenses generated by the firm s actions. Economic profit
measures true increments to value, but is hard to measure. Accounting profit is
correlated with economic profit, but not perfectly so. Accounting profit can be

What additional information would you need in order to make that decision?
Answer: These figures tell you what Dow earned in 1990. In order to decide on future
investments, you need the following information: 1.Whether these returns are
representative of those expected to be earned in the future in these different divisions.
What matters for investment decisionmaking are projected future returns, not past
returns. To the extent that these returns vary widely from year to year which they do

reason these data may be misleading is that they are based on historical cost figures

Comparison Of Hitchcock And Humor Films
A movie without some humorous scenes can be unattractive to many eyes. Hitchcock
films, irrespective of the early times that they were produced, remain some of the
most creative and humorous movies that ever existed. The originality in the
Hitchcock and Humor film makes the movie more real than a fictitious narration
(Naremore 15). Hitchcock creates more suspense within his setting that not only
creates the urge to watch more but also makes the whole story interesting. At some
point, romance feature in Hitchcock films but in a comical manner, which drives the
audienceemotional. Moreover, Hitchcock s works are notable irrespective of the time

Examples Of Hobbes Absolute Power Of The Sovereign
In relation to the absolute power of the sovereign, the act of individuals giving up
their rights deprives them of judging or criticizing the actions of the ruler.
However, further in the book Hobbes accepts that there are some limits to what a
sovereign can and can not do. For instance, if the sovereign fails in giving
protection to individuals, it is said that they have the liberty to revolt, but revolt is
considered unjust. And Hobbes s justification for this is that a revolt will involve a
civil war, meaning returning to a state of war and to the absence of government. (
Hobbes: XVIII, 117). Another main argument by Hobbes is under what
circumstances a subject is able to raise his voice against the sovereign. By describing

Using Animals In Research And To Test Products Has Been
Using animals in research and to test products has been a topic of heated debate for
many years. Animals have contributed to research and we have found many cures to
diseases that would have otherwise killed us. Many individuals view animals as
companions that exhibit emotion and have a personality, they re not viewed as lab
subjects. The fact remains that animals are utilized by research facilities and
cosmetics companies, not just across the country but around the entire world.
Although humans do benefit from animal research, the pain, suffering, and annual
deaths of over one hundred million animals are not worth the human benefits. Why
should animals suffer unnecessarily for the human benefit? Animals are given

But babies also do not have those rights and cannot express themselves through

stands for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, the case that launched it
was the Silver Springs Monkey experiment that took place in Silver Spring,
Maryland. In this laboratory, 17 monkeys were held in small wired cages with
feces and urine that have accumulated over several years. The experiment was run
by a Psychologist named Edward Taub who had no previous medical training. The
monkeys would be subjected to many spinal surgeries that would cause one or
more of their limbs to become useless. They would be forced to regain mobility of
their useless limbs by constantly being shocked. These monkeys would lose fingers
by getting them caught in the cage, some only had three out of ten fingers left. They
were food deprived and they would scavenge through their feces to find something to
eat (The Silver Spring Monkeys: The Case That Launched PETA).
There are many alternatives to animal testing. For example, synthetic skin; the
synthetic skin has been made and may replace the use of animal subjects. The Draize
test, for example, was an eye irritancy test, in which cosmetics, dishwashing liquid,
drain cleaner, and other substances are dripped into the animals eyes, often causing
redness, swelling, discharge, ulceration, hemorrhaging, cloudiness, or blindness

stated that he wears a size ten shoe however he does not own a pair of shoes in his
size. With all these factors involved it becomes obvious that J.L. is a diabetic patient
in need of foot care teaching, in order to prevent further complications. After
identification of a patient teaching need the next step in the teaching process is
establishing a measurable goal. Teaching goals are broad in scope and set down what
is expected as the final outcome of the teaching and learning process (Wilkinson Van
Leuven, 2007, p. 538). In order to achieve a high level of standard, teaching goals
need to be specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely. For our example,
the teaching goal for J.L. and his diabetic foot care is as follows: Client is able to
state five things he can do to prevent diabetic foot complications by the end of the
teaching session implemented on Sunday January 24, 2012. Specifically, the five
items J.L. will identify are to monitor and manage his diabetes, inspect feet daily,
wash feet with warm water while drying between toes and apply moisturizing cream
to feet daily (not between toes), avoid walking barefoot or with unfitted shoes, and
calling the doctor should he notice any changes in his feet. In this case the level of
prevention used, when implementing the diabetic foot care teaching, is tertiary
prevention. This intervention begins once the disease if obvious: the aim is to
interrupt the course of the disease,

including Histoplasma capsulatum, Coccidioides immitis, Blastomyces dermatitidis,
Cryptococcus neoformans, Aspergillus fumigatus, and Pneumocystis carinii; and

Essay On Frank Romero
A Famous artist named Frank Romero painted a mural in 1984 in the city of Los

the people of Los Angels what they are known for, in the mural he paints cars with
hearts on top to representing that the people of L.A. love their cars, showing palm

In the the painting Romero tries to tell the viewers that one thing that everybody
in Los Angeles cares about is their cars. We know he tries to tell us this because
what mostly pops out in the painting is the cars and the giant heart on top of each
car. The colors that Romero has chosen for his painting give a certain type of mood
to the viewers. When I first looked at the painting it gave me a bit of happiness
because his painting does really represent Los Angeles.

Globalization And Its Impact On Socio Economy
Globalization and its Impact on Socio Economy in India
Dr. Mahendra Singh
Associate Professor

Abstract:
Globalization was adopted by Indian Government during 1990 91 when Indian
Economy was in a very bad shape. It was, however, adopted not as a solution to
deteriorating Indian economy but to enable itself to get further foreign exchange
loans from World Bank as its foreign exchange reserveswere reduced to mere 3
weeks outflow. To rectify its ailing financial health, Government simultaneously
decided to amend its economic policies and go for privatization liberalization of its
economy. These decisions had immediate positive effect. However, globalizationhas
proved to be a double edged weapon. It did help government temporarily meet its
emergent need of foreign exchange but it has, as a by product, caused some
permanent damage to Indian Economic system and Indian social structure.
Key Words: Privatization, Liberalization, current account deficits, disinvestment,

Pressure Of Peer Pressure
Peer Pressure on Beauty Among Teenagers Teenagers are experiencing peer pressure
on beauty with greater frequency and magnitude than ever. In the past, without the
Internet, only a limited number of peers with whom teenagers make acquaintance
could put pressure on their attitudes toward beauty and constrain them to make
changes. In contemporary society, however, selfies are readily accessible on the
social networks to all peers, who can remark on others appearance without taking
any responsibility. This lifts up the concern that peer pressure is exerting a
tremendous and negative influence on adolescents perception of beauty, which may
lead to damage to individual confidence and loss of aesthetic independence and
diversity. This essay will further discuss how peer pressure works and the negative
effects of it listed above. Peer pressure plays a crucial... Show more content on

This may be true without interference from the outside; however, peer pressure,
intervened in externally by the beauty industry, tends to compel both genders to
conform to the still and biased standards of beauty promoted by the beauty industry,
which may lead to the loss of aesthetic independence and diversity and no evolution at
all. The rationale behind the argument is that the beauty industry usually manipulates
peer pressure to promote modelled figures of both genders to yield more revenues
from their beauty products and services. Affected by the promotion of the beauty
industry, peer society involuntarily accepts the popular concept of beauty without
pondering whether the standards of beauty are appropriate. As a consequence,
everyone is forced to conform to these standards under extreme peer pressure. This
may lead to the loss of independent judgement and diversified aesthetic criteria and
the fashion of beauty may remain unchanged for the time
Mental Illness And Self Identity
This issue is relevant because mental illness and self identity are starting to become
a popular topic in our society. People are starting to realize that even though it may
be a difficult subject to speak and learn about, it is important and should be
addressed in our society. This issue is important because it helps people embrace
who they are and learn about the issues instead of hating on themselves for being
different and not knowing the real facts about the issue. If we do not learn how to
treat mental illnessand accept ourselves, we will never move forward in society and
learn how to help others and ourselves with these topics. By learning more about
these topics we can help our society grow, by discovering new ways to help people
with these problems. We could decrease major issues in our society like mass
shootings, and teen suicide. With this topic we can make our society more aware and
inclusive of those with these issues.
Currently, mental health is a major topic in our society with mass shootings and
major crises with our government because everyone says that the shooters were not in
a good mental state, which made them do these terrible things. Self identity is also a
current issue among many young people who do not know who they are and are
still figuring it out. Teens who are not yet proud of their individualism blend into
society and become a brick in the wall instead of an individual who values their
unique qualities and culture. Today, these ideas are

Technology and the Internet have evolved over the years to the point where it is

personal information and even have devices hacked. Individuals need to learn how to
protect their privacy in the online world in order to prevent such actions against them.
As the Internet has grown to become a popular tool, it has also left people s
information available to the world such as their address, email or telephone number.
Most people are aware of the risks involved with posting online and often implement
privacy features on social media allowing only friends and followers to see their
information. However, these actions are not enough. An analysis by Li, Li, Yan and

Summary Of The Guardian
The Guardian
For as long as time itself, humans have been weak and fragile, in need of Guardians
to watch over them. At birth, a child is given a Guardian, and for the remainder of
their short life, that human is protected and guided by an unseen force. These chosen
few were fated to watch life pass on without truly experiencing it. They are the lonely
sentinels in an everlasting night, watching over a person s dreams for seventy years
before watching over another for seventy more, and on and on and on through
eternity.
Life offers infinite happiness, and thus, those who d hunt for this feeling of pure joy
pay with misery Fate collecting the debt and sentencing debtors to death. Every
mortal has chosen to trade their bodies on earth simply for the short, sweet taste of
life. When that probationary period called mortal life concludes, it is the Guardian
that leads the soul out of the confines of the body and to that Afterlife we speculate
so much about. In regards to this Afterlife, there is not much that can be said. Not for
fear of instigating a war of religions, but more because it is unknown. The Guardians,
because of their immortality, are forbidden to enter that place. To understand
something is to have power over it, and the Guardians simply cannot comprehend the
Afterlife; thus they are like children fearing the dark because they cannot see what
lurks within. No one to enter the Afterlife can return to share its secrets with the
world. Thus, the only information we

United States Contract Law according to American laws, a contract must have terms
that do not only certify an agreement between two parties but can be used to prove
its legality some elements that are involved in the contract include offer and
acceptance which are the two major elements of any contract between two parties.
Central to the formation of a contract is an offer which is accepted by the other
party involved in the contract or agreement and in most cases, a price may be paid to
make the contract legal. According to the United States contract law, the price

This is known to be the first legal requirement for a contract in United States and
initiated the contract between Jim, Laura and Stan the car dealer.
A contract can only exist when there is a mutual agreement the parties involved in
the contract and the agreement should be based on parties free will with no undue
influence from the parties involved (Hillman, 2012). It is apparent that Jim and
Laura made the decision to buy the car and they went to see the car dealer and
initiated the agreement at the same time made an offer for Sedan cars after testing
several cars. They agreed to the terms of the contract of sale and promised to come
the following day to pick the car. These provided reasons beyond doubt that Jim and
Laura were committed to the agreement and both of them were of age and of sound
mind which made the agreement a legal contract beyond doubt.
In the case at hand, it is very clear that there was an agreement between Jim and
Laura on one hand and Stan on the other hand for the purchase of a Sedan car since
there was validly made offer that was without undue influence accepted by the car
dealer. Given the fact that there was an offer that was made by Jim and Laura without
undue influence and was accepted by Stan without undue influence cemented the
contract. This was supported by the fact that both parties to the contract were all
mature and of sound mind (Friedman, 2011). Despite the fact that the deal between

I decided to choose Joe because as a fellow Caucasian male, I more closely felt how
he felt more than I did with the two girls from foreign countries and the two African
American males. Although I am not homosexual, being white made me feel his
story more. I can t relate to being a racial minority. Being a homosexual person today
requires you to adapt. To adapt means to change your behavior to accommodate what
others are doing. Although more and more people are opening up to the thought of
same sex marriageand all that, there are still a lot of people who oppose it and think
that it is immoral. So people, who have feelings like Joe, have to adapt if they want
to fit in to the societies of America. Societies are groups of people who share common

I have many friends that are minorities. I have African American friends I have

these people have obviously never gotten to meet the people who they stereotype.
I can tell you that not every person who isn t white is bad. People have to realize
that white people can be bad too. I guarantee that other cultures think we are bad
because of what some crazy white people have done. I agree with what Vera said.
In every culture there are extremists. The same goes for white people. Not every
African American is a bad person, not every Arab is a terrorist. I think if people
got to know what these people actually stood for and the type of people they are,
then racism would be ridden from our country. But until then, we will never be a
good society. For me personally, when my friend moved to Iowa from Vietnam back
in 3rd grade, I wasn t terrified, I didn t question the things he stood for or any of that.
Honestly, I thought it was cool that he didn t know much English. I wanted to learn
about the Vietnamese language and all the things they do over there that were
different from us. Just like me, he wanted to learn about the United States. We would
teach other things that each place believed in. I would teach him basketball, he would
teach me about his Buddhist beliefs. There were never any thoughts of discrimination
or racism with him.

To what extent might the cash flow statement help to overcome the traditional
limitations of financial statement analysis in evaluating the past performance and
predicting the future successes or failures of business organisations?

MODERN MEHTOD OF ANALYSING: CASH FLOW STATMENT
Cash flow is one of the most vital elements in the survival of a business to include
CFs in the annual report of the company is a recent concept. Complementing the
balance sheet and income statement, the cash flow statement (CFS), its a
mandatory part of a company s financial repot, records the amounts of cash and
equivalents entering and leaving a company. The CFS helps the investor to
understand and figure out the position of the company from where the money
comes and where the money is spent by an Survival of a business depends not only
on profits but perhaps more on its ability to pay its debts when they fall due.
Shareholders might believe that if a company makes a profit after tax , then this is
the amount which it could afford to pay as a dividend. Unless the company has
sufficient cash available to stay in business and also to pay a dividend, the
shareholders expectations would be wrong.
It can be positive, or negative, which is obviously
What Is the Objective of Internet Censorship in Public...
Shawn Nephi Klaxx
What is the objective of internet censorship in public schools? Is it effective and
does it do more good than bad? When talking about internet censorship in schools,
heated debates are always bound to arise on what they should block, how strict they
should be, and if they should even be there. The topic of fettered or unfettered internet
is a hot topic and can be both good and bad for education. When talking about
something that sounds like such a small topic it is important to remember that
everyday our lives and the internet are becoming more and more intertwined. Now
phones and computers are almost always linked to the internet. In this ever evolving

Just like everything else there are laws that are placed on the internet and these
laws are expected to be followed. When these laws are broken they can be
punishable under two categories, Federal or International (being that it is a World
Wide Web database(No one owns it)). It is important to teach students these laws
and the consequences of breaking these laws. Because it is easier to teach a child
something then to teach them as a grown adult. Teachers and parents alike argue that
Internet filters should be applied but no one can come to an agreement on to what
extent the strictness of these filters should be. Congress, in 2000 enacted the
Children s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) as part of the Consolidated
Appropriations Act. The act provides three different types of funding; 1) aid to
elementary and secondary schools; 2) Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA)
grants to States for support of public libraries; and 3) the E rate program that provides
technology discounts to schools and public libraries. ( Children and the Internet
National Conference of State Legislation). This is a good way to protect children
from harmful threats on the Internet. There is lots of harmful material on the Internet
though, Perhaps most troubling is the role Internet has come to play in bullying and
harassment, highlighted by the series of high profile suicides in the last few

flood mapping practices and addresses the issue of high risk properties, which
owners rebuild at high costs following a flood (Simpson, 2017).
According to Jeb Hensarling, Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee,
if the 21st Century Flood Reform Act became law, taxpayers would directly benefit
through the competition of private companies to provide affordable flood insurance
rates for homeowners. Republican Sean P. Duffy, the sponsor of the bill, spoke on the
House floor and reinforced Hensarling s statement. Duffy claimed that introducing
private companies would allow homeowners to select alternative flood insurance
plans that may be cheaper than any available federal plans. Additionally, Duffy stated
that private flood insurance companies would assist taxpayers in covering the costs
resulting from a flood. Duffy concluded by not only stating that the 21st Century
Flood Reform Act is a bipartisan bill but also reiterated its benefit to homeowners,
and that it would directly contribute to reducing the national debt. The bill has also
received support from the American Academy of Actuaries Casualty Practice

The Effects of Smoking Essay
The Effects of Smoking
The health effects of cigarette smoking are vast and well documented. In fact, over
75,000 reports have examined the connection between cigarette smoking and its
effects (U.S. DHHS Reducing Health ). A Report to the Surgeon General has stated
that It is safe to say that smoking represents the most extensively documented cause
of disease ever investigated in the history of biomedical research (U.S. DHHS The
Health ). And a 1988 Report to the Surgeon General stated that nicotine (the drug
found in tobacco) is as addictive as heroin and cocaine (American Lung Association,
Pg. 2).

DHHS The Health ). People who are new to smoking often feel sick or dizzy when
they smoke. This is their body s way of responding to the effects of nicotine. When
you add to this the carbon monoxide that enters the blood stream with cigarette
smoke, it takes the place of vital oxygen that is needed by the muscles and organs
(U.S. DHHS The Health ). This means that the body is not able to perform to the best
of its capacity.
Chemicals in tobacco smoke harm the airways and lungs, damaging the lung s
ability to clean themselves, and making the smoker more open to coughs and chest
infection (U.S. DHHS The Health ). Teenage smokers cough more than teenagers
who do not smoke, and by the time they become adults, many young smokers will
already have abnormal changes in the cells lining their small airways (Center for
Disease Control, Pg. 16). Teenage smokers also have more asthma and allergic
symptoms than non smokers of the same age, and get more easily winded when
exercising (Center for Disease Control, Pg. 16). As you can now see, smoking
effects many parts of the body. Just one cigarette dose make a difference, and even
young smokers show signs of damage due to smoking.
When people become regular users of tobacco, they can find it very difficult to stop.
Starting smoking when young, and smoking for a very long time, makes it more
likely that a smoking related disease will develop (U.S. DHHS The Health ).

Developmental Controversy Of Nature Vs. Nurture
1.Explain the developmental controversy of nature vs. nurture. Be sure to provide
an example to illustrate the point. Nurture refers to society, family, and church that
impacts who we become. Some examples are how we are raised, where we are
raised and our experiences during childhood. If a person is raised in a religious
setting they will probably have those same morals and beliefs when they are older.
If they were in foster system that will effect who they become depending on their
experience in foster care. Nature refers to our genes and things we inherit from our
blood relatives genes. This could be anything from our eye color, weight, height, or
weather we are shy. Nature is our genes which is personal characteristics and what

The Problem Of Car Accidents
Introduction and background Since the creation of automobiles in 1769, the
number of cars on the roads has drastically increased and with it the number of car
accident. In the United Stated there have been a total of 32,719 car accident; in the
year 2013 that either did or did not involve pedestrians or cyclist. The
overcrowding of streets and large number of car accidents can be attributed to the
large influx of cars. While the number of accident in Texas is high standing at
3,382 as of 2013; a large amount; 10% of those accident took place in Harris
County, in comparison to other counties in Texas that have less than .1%. Car
accidents have many causes such as running red lights, drinking and driving,
speeding, use of mobiles, lack of sleep and vigilance while preforming the task of
driving. These actions caused numerus deaths of the drivers, passengers, and
pedestrians. Which is also why the leading cause of death in children is car
accidents. Problem The problem at its core of car accidents is the overcrowding of
the roads; which is not only a social issue but a financial issues due to the huge
costs that are placed on the public and the government in order to cover an accident;
while cost is a term that is more than often used to discuss money, in this instance it
will also be used to not only describe money but also monetary gain through an
occupation. While the majority of the expenses are covered by the people that were
involved in the incident there are also the
The Importance Of Challenges In The Old Man And The
Sea
Many challenges come along in the life of those who are passionate. It is natural that
these challenges will hinder people from their goals, but whether or not these
challenges can completely defeat them is their choice. In The Old Man and the Sea
by Ernest Hemingway, an old man faced many challenges while fishingbecause had
not caught a fish for eighy four days. Because everyone thoughtthat his career as a
fisherman was over, Santiago, the old man, wanted to prove them wrong, so on the
eighty fourth day, he went out to fight the seas and bring home a big fish. He
overcame many challenges to catch a beautiful marlin, but when he did, sharks
attacked the man and the fish. After the first shark attack the old man said, A man
can be destroyed but not defeated (Hemingway 103). Even by the end of the book,
the old man remained undefeated because he fought with all his strength. Santiago
showed courage and effort from the beginning of his fishing trip. It took him days,
just to catch that one marlin. He spent all those sleepless days with some food and
little rest, and he even had to catch fish for food He felt the line carefully with his
right hand and noticed his hand was bleeding (56). The old man had cut his face
and hands but he still didn t give up on the fish. He kept going on, portraying his
true strength, even in his old age. A little while later, the old man s left hand got
cramped. He was disgusted by it because he felt that a hand was no use if it didn t
work.
The Substance Of Sherlock Holmes
There s is arguably nothing worse in life than boredom. If given a chance to
alleviate the mundanity of our everyday lives we would all gladly take it. Well,
luckily there is or has been a remedy for boredom. Some people (the fans) have
argued that the cure for our insufferable and bland lives has been on screen since
2010. And it s name is Sherlock. The tv show brought to us by the BBC has become
a cult phenomenon since it hit our screens in the early 2010s. But why? What s so
great about a tv show starring two British guys? Well the answer is simple,
complexity. The substance in Sherlock whose synopsis is about a consulting
detective named Sherlock Holmeswho solves crimes along with his sidekick John
Watsonis unbelievable. In a book entitled Signs of Life in the USA, there are two
writers Seger and Ray; both of whom discuss common Hollywood tools used to
make films popular. In an article, published by Linda Seger entitled, Creating a
Myth, she talks about the many tropes Hollywood or cinema in general uses relate to
its audience. One of the most famous and popular methods she points out as being
that of the HeroMyth. In it s most simplistic form the Hero Myth is about an
unwilling character seeking and finding adventure all the while being transformed. If
we go back to the tv show Sherlock it contains specific parts of the Hero Myth.
However, it also contains much more. According to Ray, in his article entitled The
Thematic Paradigm, the type of heroes

needed, the attendee list is counted, recounted and counted again and is often

head count and table settings match.
To attain flavor perfection, desert is made three days before Thanksgiving and stored
in the refrigerator downstairs, creating a potential food theft situation and thus the
need for a sound alarm. The refrigerator downstairs has a very creaky door, making
covert operation nearly impossible, alerting the chef to potential thievery and
guaranteeing the preservation of the desert.

Indigenous Community Policing
As noted in the Sarre reading, community policing is largely ineffective within
Indigenous communities. Despite this reading being almost 10 years old, it is
extremely disheartening to know that nothing has changed since then. Despite, many
police organisations hailing community policing as a paradigm shift from the
professional model of policing to a more inclusive model of community partnership
of crimefighting, community policing still has major downfalls particularly in remote
Indigenous communities. Policestations are increasingly found in remote Indigenous
communities with an extremely large visual presence in contrast to other government
services, with many remote communities having more police officers per 1000,000
than most metropolitan communities. The type of policing carried out in such remote
communities is distinctly different to what occurs in metropolitan areas with a
greater focus placed on petty crime such as driving, drug and alcohol offences.

people and faith in such... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This notion is only made worse in communities, especially in remote indigenous
communities that have had a long history of poor relations with the police. In order
for community policing to have a place in the future of policing in remote
communities, there must be an emphasis placed on building effective partnerships
with community members, which includes collaboration and communication and a
focus on culturally competency. Similarly, there must be a focus on developing a
specific community policing plan highlighting key priorities within remote
communities and examining the community s capacity to help in this process. We
need to move towards self determination and such processes as circle sentencing and

Being There By Jerzy Kosinski Summary
Being There by Jerzy Kosinski is an allegorical tale about a man named Chance
whose experience of the world is limited to his work as a gardener and what he has
seen on television. Watching TV is the most important action for Chance; he is
nearly keen on TV, because it is his information source of the happenings in the
world around him outside in the streets. Over the course of seven days, Chance
leaves his employer and navigates his way through high society. His encounters with

Plan B One Step emergency contraceptive is a well known form of last minute birth

because it is considered a form of abortion by many people. This ad was found in
People magazine, a gossip/tabloid magazine commonly found near the registers at
grocery stores, supermarkets and other various convenience stores. Glancing over
the page, it seems harmless enough and like a good thing for those who need it.
Upon further analyzing, this advertisement shows the pressure put upon girls in
America and the problem of lack of proper sexual education. The advertisement
itself takes up a whole page in the magazine. The model posing is in a bedroom,
sitting on the bed with a facial expression like she just accidentally forgot
something or dropped something not necessarily important. She looks to be in her
late teens or early twenties which leads me to believe that is the age group this
advertisement is aimed at. The main caption is Hey, nobody s perfect in two
feminine, almost casual fonts and the word perfect is designed to stand out. There
is also a picture in the bottom right hand corner of the box for Plan B which is said
to be for the perfectly imperfect underneath the picture. The bottom left hand corner

An Analysis Of Will s Relationship With Brandy In Cut
Both...
Today, our world is in a very open and accepting mindset towards the LGBT+
community. We have equal marriage rights, and just yesterday, California became
the first state to recognize non binary as a gender. Even though we have these rights,
being LGBT+ is still a struggle in today s society. In Cut Both Ways, this is shown
very clearly in how Will s relationship with Brandy is treated with more acceptance
than the relationship he has with Angus. When Will is shown with Brandy, his
parents think nothing of this relationship, they re trusted together. At one point in the
book, Will and Brandy have a pregnancy scare, and when Brandy s Aunt Megan finds
out, they re only given a short talk about always using protection and then they go on

The Legacy Of Daniel Libeskind
Daniel Libeskind was born in Lodz, Poland on May 12, 1946, to Polish Jewish
parents the year after World War II ended. His parents were Holocaust survivors, but
living in postwar Eastern Europe they found that the formal end of the Holocaust did
not bring an end to Anti Semitism violence. As Libeskind told Stanley Meisler of the
Smithsonian, Anti Semitism is the only memory I still have of Poland. In school. On
the streets. It wasn t what most people think happened after the war was over. It was
horrible. As a child, his parents wanted him to learn an instrument but felt that
bringing a piano into the house would draw too much attention. Thus, they bought
him an accordion, an instrument that could easily be concealed. With this learned
skill, Libeskind reached a small amount of fame at a young age. Libeskind and his
family led a nomadic life: at eleven, he moved with his family to Israel. Here, he
switched to the piano and eventually won an American Israel Cultural Foundation
scholarship, which enabled the family to move to the United States. Consequently,
at thirteen years old, they moved to New York. As Libeskind recalls: I arrived by
ship to New York as a teenager, an immigrant, and like millions of others before me,
my first sight was the Statue of Liberty and the amazing skyline of Manhattan. I have
never forgotten that sight or what it stands for. Although Libeskind continued to
study music and the performing arts, as he grew older he found it to be less and

Inclusion Essay. Champion Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Essay Example StudyHippo.com

  • 1. Inclusion Essay Writing an essay on the topic of inclusion can be both challenging and rewarding. The complexity arises from the multifaceted nature of inclusion, encompassing a wide range of social, cultural, educational, and political dimensions. To effectively address the topic, one must delve into various perspectives, considering inclusion in the context of diversity, equality, and social justice. Crafting an inclusion essay requires a thorough understanding of the subject matter and the ability to navigate through sensitive issues. It involves examining the historical context of inclusion, the challenges faced by marginalized groups, and the evolving dynamics of inclusivity in contemporary society. Additionally, one must explore the role of institutions, policies, and individuals in promoting inclusive practices. The difficulty also lies in presenting a balanced view, acknowledging the progress made in fostering inclusion while critically analyzing the existing gaps and barriers. It requires a nuanced approach to avoid oversimplification and to recognize the intersectionality of identities and experiences. Furthermore, an inclusion essay should be well-researched, drawing on a variety of sources to support arguments and provide a comprehensive understanding of the topic. The writer must be adept at synthesizing information and presenting it in a coherent and engaging manner. Despite these challenges, writing an inclusion essay can be fulfilling, as it allows the author to contribute to ongoing conversations about social change and inclusivity. It provides an opportunity to advocate for a more equitable and diverse world, fostering understanding and empathy among readers. In conclusion, tackling the subject of inclusion in an essay demands careful consideration, empathy, and a commitment to promoting positive change. It is a task that requires both intellectual engagement and emotional intelligence, making it a valuable exercise in enhancing one's critical thinking and communication skills. Segmentation and Target Market Segmentation and Target Market The three major players in the soft drink market are PepsiCo, Inc., the Coca Cola Company, and the Dr. Pepper Snapple Group (Change Lab Solutions, n.d.). All of them use effective market segmentation to target specific markets. Effective target marketing requires that marketers, segment the market, by identifying and profiling to find a distinct group of buyers who differ in their wants and needs (Kotler Keller, 2012). They target their specific product to one or more market segments they have identified, and for each target segment establish and communicate the distinctive benefit of the company s products to position themselves in the market. Coca Cola and Pepsi Cola retain the first and second... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Snacking is a national pastime, so the snack foods: pretzels, chips, multi grain snacks, granola bars, cookies cereal, rice sides, eat and heat foods, would target all markets. Behavioral Segmentation Behavioral segmentation divides buyers into groups based on their knowledge, attitude towards, use of, or response to a product (Kotler Keller, 2012). When it comes to needs and benefits, you would primarily see health conscious individuals or parents buying for their families; water, healthy oatmeal, juices, maybe diet soda, multi grain snacks, and Quaker granola bars. In the decision role, we have the initiator, influencer, decider, buyer, and user (Kotler Keller, 2012). In most families everyone has a thought or opinion; however, in the end the buyer who does the grocery shopping makes the final decision. All of the products in the PepsiCo beverage and food line are for all occasions, a user would be any consumer wishing to make a purchase, and the usage rate would vary as much as the type of food or beverage would vary. Loyalty status is a place where with the right advertising and marketing, PepsiCo could possibly position themselves to the number one position. Loyal Coca Cola drinkers are a large target market, but getting them to choose a different brand over the one they have been loyal to for a lifetime takes some work. When Coca Cola made the mistake of changing their recipe for a short time, this gave Pepsi a chance to steal some

  • 4. Essay about Abraham Lincoln s Assassination Abraham Lincoln, the sixteenth President of the United States was elected president on November 6 in the year 1860. Not even on the South s ballot, Lincoln received 40% of the popular vote. As a strong republican, Lincoln believed in the abolition of slavery. Lincoln became president in the highest conflict between North and South in history and wanted to preserve the Union. This style of writing typically relates back to fiction that gives an atmosphere of uncertainty by featuring horror, death, curses or the supernatural. In The Signalman written by Charles Dickens, we can depict that his writing falls under the category of traditional gothic literature as he chooses to stress the fear of the unknown whether it be the setting or the supernatural. By zooming in on the word misleads , it evidently shows us how he was involuntarily submerged with thoughts that drowned him and how failing to control his sanity led to his downfall, and later, his death. Additionally, the quote May have been infection in his mind similarly shows us how the appearance of the individual almost triggered this thought that infected his mind and rid him of thoughts that were unperturbed. He thought that he was seeing things, and not experiencing them, and because of that, he had a strenuous yet continuous fight with his judgment and let it overcome him easily. It has altered peoples taste and want; others view of pleasure and some others understanding of a good life. Nelson Mandela in his famous biography said the white man s coming to Africachanged even the smallest of our ways to the larges ECONOMY. In this literature I would be looking at the role of colonial slaveryto modern governance towards economic development. How from the 15 century to date, Ghana has been influence by colonial force into it post colonial days to current times. Until the arrival of the first European country to the shore of West Africa (Ghana) most of the people lived closely together as tribes in small villages. They were relatively large towns where paramount chief lived. These towns were the center of both political and economic activities. Because of the self sustaining nature of these villages there was not much economic exchange betweens household (Microeconomics). If the was need for furniture the forest provided wood. Every family could hunt for game or fish for fish. If there was any major exchange of goods and service on any substantial scale it was the Ashanti who through the northern trade, traded in Gold with the Muslim Caravans from North African and the Middle East. Gold was the major product of the Ashanti Empire. The king Osei Tutu the co founder of the Ashanti empire around 1701 made the gold mines

The beacon is located atop a small hill promontory that was likely chosen by its ancient Roman builders not only for its view of the sea, but the spot may also have been a sacred space dedicated to the demigod Hercules. As part of one of the mythic Twelve Labors of Hercules, the super strong son of Zeus is said to have killed the giant Gerylon with an arrow dipped in Hydra s blood. As shown in The Five Wounds Of Christ instead of focusing on the body of Christ, the piece focuses on the wounds in the hands and feet of Christ, with the center containing the heart with a bloody lance pierced through it. The wounds of Christ are further emphasized by the grain in the wood of the cross, whose pattern mimics that of wounds. The manuscripts focused on the symbolism of the blood, Each leaf, is covered in dense layers of carefully painted wounds of varying shades of red, one on top of the other, each dripping with blood. The fibres are distributed evenly throughout the mix without balling or clustering. The randomly oriented fibres help to bridge and arrest the cracks. As such, crack widening is gradual as compared to plain concrete. This leads to better

They use their expertise to make an assessment of your condition, whether it be a skin rash, heart palpitations, a hormone imbalance, symptoms of the common cold, etc. Next, they match your symptoms with drugs which allegedly have counteractive agents and then recommend medications based on clinical trials reviewed and approved by the FDA. But don t get confused: The FDA does not personally do the research nor do they even hire their own labs to do the testing. Instead, all clinical trials are done by private investigators hired by the companies who make the drugs. How is this system supposed to be effective? It s no wonder we see a drug recall commercial on T.V. every ten minutes; the research labs have contracts to these drug companies, and would never publish any findings which could damage the company s profit or

Answer: Accounting income is calculated by taking revenues and subtracting all cash and non cash expenses (such as depreciation). Accounting income also often recognizes losses for tax purposes as well, even though the economic loss may have taken place at another time. Economic profit is the sum of the present values of all the cash flows net of expenses generated by the firm s actions. Economic profit measures true increments to value, but is hard to measure. Examples Of Hobbes Absolute Power Of The Sovereign In relation to the absolute power of the sovereign, the act of individuals giving up their rights deprives them of judging or criticizing the actions of the ruler. However, further in the book Hobbes accepts that there are some limits to what a sovereign can and can not do. For instance, if the sovereign fails in giving protection to individuals, it is said that they have the liberty to revolt, but revolt is considered unjust. And Hobbes s justification for this is that a revolt will involve a civil war, meaning returning to a state of war and to the absence of government. ( Hobbes: XVIII, 117). Another main argument by Hobbes is under what circumstances a subject is able to raise his voice against the sovereign. By describing what actions

In this laboratory, 17 monkeys were held in small wired cages with feces and urine that have accumulated over several years. The experiment was run by a Psychologist named Edward Taub who had no previous medical training. The monkeys would be subjected to many spinal surgeries that would cause one or more of their limbs to become useless. They would be forced to regain mobility of their useless limbs by constantly being shocked. These monkeys would lose fingers by getting them caught in the cage, some only had three out of ten fingers left. They were food deprived and they would scavenge through their feces to find something to eat (The Silver Spring Monkeys: The Case That Launched PETA). There are many alternatives to animal testing. After identification of a patient teaching need the next step in the teaching process is establishing a measurable goal. Teaching goals are broad in scope and set down what is expected as the final outcome of the teaching and learning process (Wilkinson Van Leuven, 2007, p. 538). In order to achieve a high level of standard, teaching goals need to be specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely. For our example, the teaching goal for J.L. and his diabetic foot care is as follows: Client is able to state five things he can do to prevent diabetic foot complications by the end of the teaching session implemented on Sunday January 24, 2012. Specifically, the five items J.L. will identify are to monitor and manage his diabetes, inspect feet daily, wash feet with warm water while drying between toes and apply moisturizing cream to feet daily (not between toes), avoid walking barefoot or with unfitted shoes, and calling the doctor should he notice any changes in his feet. In this case the level of prevention used, when implementing the diabetic foot care teaching, is tertiary prevention. It was, however, adopted not as a solution to deteriorating Indian economy but to enable itself to get further foreign exchange loans from World Bank as its foreign exchange reserveswere reduced to mere 3 weeks outflow. To rectify its ailing financial health, Government simultaneously decided to amend its economic policies and go for privatization liberalization of its economy. The rationale behind the argument is that the beauty industry usually manipulates peer pressure to promote modelled figures of both genders to yield more revenues from their beauty products and services. Affected by the promotion of the beauty industry, peer society involuntarily accepts the popular concept of beauty without pondering whether the standards of beauty are appropriate. As a consequence, everyone is forced to conform to these standards under extreme peer pressure. At birth, a child is given a Guardian, and for the remainder of their short life, that human is protected and guided by an unseen force. These chosen few were fated to watch life pass on without truly experiencing it. They are the lonely sentinels in an everlasting night, watching over a person s dreams for seventy years before watching over another for seventy more, and on and on and on through eternity. Life offers infinite happiness, and thus, those who d hunt for this feeling of pure joy pay with misery Fate collecting the debt and sentencing debtors to death. Every mortal has chosen to trade their bodies on earth simply for the short, sweet taste of life. When that probationary period called mortal life concludes, it is the Guardian that leads the soul out of the confines of the body and to that Afterlife we speculate so much about. In regards to this Afterlife, there is not much that can be said. Not for fear of instigating a war of religions, but more because it is unknown. The Guardians, because of their immortality, are forbidden to enter that place. No one to enter the Afterlife can return to share its secrets with the world. Thus, the only information we

It is important to teach students these laws and the consequences of breaking these laws. Because it is easier to teach a child something then to teach them as a grown adult. Teachers and parents alike argue that Internet filters should be applied but no one can come to an agreement on to what extent the strictness of these filters should be. Congress, in 2000 enacted the Children s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) as part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act. The act provides three different types of funding; 1) aid to elementary and secondary schools; 2) Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grants to States for support of public libraries; and 3) the E rate program that provides technology discounts to schools and public libraries. ( Children and the Internet National Conference of State Legislation). This is a good way to protect children from harmful threats on the Internet. There is lots of harmful material on the Internet though, Perhaps most troubling is the role Internet has come to play in bullying and harassment, highlighted by the series of high profile suicides in the last few

According to Jeb Hensarling, Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, if the 21st Century Flood Reform Act became law, taxpayers would directly benefit through the competition of private companies to provide affordable flood insurance rates for homeowners. Republican Sean P. Duffy, the sponsor of the bill, spoke on the House floor and reinforced Hensarling s statement. Duffy claimed that introducing private companies would allow homeowners to select alternative flood insurance plans that may be cheaper than any available federal plans. Additionally, Duffy stated that private flood insurance companies would assist taxpayers in covering the costs resulting from a flood. Duffy concluded by not only stating that the 21st Century Flood Reform Act is a bipartisan bill but also reiterated its benefit to homeowners, and that it would directly contribute to reducing the national debt. The bill has also received support from the American Academy of Actuaries Casualty Practice Council, as well as from environmental groups, under the condition that it would undergo additional reforms in the Senate, such as to address flood mitigation and the financial

People who are new to smoking often feel sick or dizzy when they smoke. This is their body s way of responding to the effects of nicotine. When you add to this the carbon monoxide that enters the blood stream with cigarette smoke, it takes the place of vital oxygen that is needed by the muscles and organs (U.S. DHHS The Health ). This means that the body is not able to perform to the best of its capacity. Chemicals in tobacco smoke harm the airways and lungs, damaging the lung s ability to clean themselves, and making the smoker more open to coughs and chest infection (U.S. DHHS The Health ). Teenage smokers cough more than teenagers who do not smoke, and by the time they become adults, many young smokers will already have abnormal changes in the cells lining their small airways (Center for Disease Control, Pg. 16). Teenage smokers also have more asthma and allergic symptoms than non smokers of the same age, and get more easily winded when exercising (Center for Disease Control, Pg. 16). As you can now see, smoking effects many parts of the body. Just one cigarette dose make a difference, and even young smokers show signs of damage due to smoking. When people become regular users of tobacco, they can find it very difficult to stop. Starting smoking when young, and smoking for a very long time, makes it more likely that a smoking related disease will develop (U.S. DHHS The Health ). Approximately one in two smokers

Despite this reading being almost 10 years old, it is extremely disheartening to know that nothing has changed since then. Despite, many police organisations hailing community policing as a paradigm shift from the professional model of policing to a more inclusive model of community partnership of crimefighting, community policing still has major downfalls particularly in remote Indigenous communities. Policestations are increasingly found in remote Indigenous communities with an extremely large visual presence in contrast to other government services, with many remote communities having more police officers per 1000,000 than most metropolitan communities. In order for community policing to have a place in the future of policing in remote communities, there must be an emphasis placed on building effective partnerships with community members, which includes collaboration and communication and a focus on culturally competency. Similarly, there must be a focus on developing a specific community policing plan highlighting key priorities within remote communities and examining the community s capacity to help in this process. • 59. The Legacy Of Daniel Libeskind Daniel Libeskind was born in Lodz, Poland on May 12, 1946, to Polish Jewish parents the year after World War II ended. His parents were Holocaust survivors, but living in postwar Eastern Europe they found that the formal end of the Holocaust did not bring an end to Anti Semitism violence. As Libeskind told Stanley Meisler of the Smithsonian, Anti Semitism is the only memory I still have of Poland. In school. On the streets. It wasn t what most people think happened after the war was over. It was horrible. As a child, his parents wanted him to learn an instrument but felt that bringing a piano into the house would draw too much attention. Thus, they bought him an accordion, an instrument that could easily be concealed. With this learned skill, Libeskind reached a small amount of fame at a young age. Libeskind and his family led a nomadic life: at eleven, he moved with his family to Israel. Here, he switched to the piano and eventually won an American Israel Cultural Foundation scholarship, which enabled the family to move to the United States. Consequently, at thirteen years old, they moved to New York. As Libeskind recalls: I arrived by ship to New York as a teenager, an immigrant, and like millions of others before me, my first sight was the Statue of Liberty and the amazing skyline of Manhattan. I have never forgotten that sight or what it stands for. Although Libeskind continued to study music and the performing arts, as he grew older he found it to be less and
