1. In Store Radio Review
I believe that when making our in storeradios we have done well at aiming for are target audience.
Our audience was main teens and young adults that shop at JD. We have made sure that we have
suited to their type of sound track and language. We used popular songs from the last five years that
was once in the top 40 charts because these are the type of songs that would they type of group
would usually listen to. We also used types of slang that would be spoken by a the age range that my
target audience are aimed at for example“hey” instead of the formal hello. We made sure the
mention most of the different brands that was sold in JD since one of our main goals of making this
radio show were to promote the shop and to attempt to make people buy some of their products.
We also made sure tell the views about the shops website and twitter account since the target
audience would usually have a lot of contact with twitter
I think our technical quality was at near professional standard there is a nice smooth sound when we
switch between to different tracks without any dead air in-between. Also during our speaking we
start the song just before we introduce it so we can talk over the intro when there is no singing in it
which lets us sound a bit more professional when introducing the next song. For our next radio I will
put a backing sound for most of the parts where we speak in order to minimise the dead air in the
radio.
Our talking parts were our weak point although there were a lot of good parts in which we manage
to speak with confidence. But there was two major points in which both me and Dan got are tongs
tide which made us stumble on our words which left us with a lot of dead air at 23 minutes and at
the end at 39 minutes which I forgot my words . I think the main reason for this was because we had
a script which we was not following directly but still when following a script the words that I was
saying was forcedwhich made it sound unnatural so next time I will probably not go off the script
and then play it by ear so it will sound more professional. A good thing what we did was we never
said hope you enjoy at the begin of a song which most people end up doing. Another great thing that
I did was I we always sound enthusiastic in the radio which would hopefully make the people
listening to feelmorehappier and shop.
I think that the best part of our in store radio show was our technical quality I made a lot of good
transitions in order the limit the amount of dead air in our in store radio show . We also had a good
music to talking radio because of it being in store radio we made it about 60% music 40% talk which
I think was a good amount of talking . Another good thing was we had a good amount of jingles that
promote the shop.
If we make another radio show then I will make sure that I have some music to play in the
background when I am talking this will help use cover up if we mess up on the words or if we say
things like urm .I think that I will also not have a script because it will make me less panic when I am
talking if all of my talking is natural and not put on using words that I would not usually use if I was
talking when I am outside. Daniel Hopkins should get a little closer to the mike next time because his
voice sounded a bit quitter then my voice and it will sound a lot more professional if we are both at
the same volume level.
