INTRODUCTION
What is the importance of environmental control
in agriculture?
 It is any agricultural technology that enables the
grower to manipulate a crop’s environmental to the
desired condition.
 It is define as the combination of engineering, plant
science, and computer managed control
technologies use to optimize plant growing
systems, plant quality, and production efficiency.

OBJECTIVES
 Production under adverse condition of environment.
 Increase productivity (Production/Unit area) and
getting maximum profits.
 To grow premium quality produce using a minimum
of space , water and fertilizer.

 Temperature
 Carbon dioxide
 Relative humidity

LIGHT
 White or reflective mulch films is use for reflect the
sun light back to the plants.
 Light levels of up to 42,000 lux for duration of 12-18
hours have been found to be increase plant growth
by utilizing fluorescent lamps of suitable quality.

TEMPERATURE
 Forced air heaters:- commonly used in
commercial green house ranges.
 Infrared radiant heaters:- The major advantage of
this type of heater is that it conserves energy and
has no problem with pollutants.

Higher level of carbon dioxide in green houses
could been managed by:
 Ventilation
 Decomposition of mulches
 Solid carbon dioxide
 Liquid carbon dioxide

HUMIDITY
 Control of humidity is generally possible through
ventilation, heating and misting.
 Various types of evaporative cooling systems are
1. Fan and pad system
2. Fan-tube ventilation system
3. Fogging and misting device

There are mainly four system of CEA:
 Green house
 Hydroponic
 Vertical farming
 Building integrated Agriculture

GREEN HOUSE
 A green house is a structural building with different
types of covering materials, such as a glass or
plastic roof and frequently glass and plastic walls.

Hydroponic Cultivation in water

Basic hydroponic systems:
 Active : In this system pumps and other devices
are used for deliver nutrient solution to plant root.
 Passive : There is no any nutrient mover system.

Result of analysis says that crop productivity is 20%-
30% increases using these systems.

INTRODUCTION What is the importance of environmental control in agriculture?  It is any agricultural technology that enables the grower to manipulate a crop’s environmental to the desired condition.  It is define as the combination of engineering, plant science, and computer managed control technologies use to optimize plant growing systems, plant quality, and production efficiency.   • 4. OBJECTIVES  Production under adverse condition of environment.  Increase productivity (Production/Unit area) and getting maximum profits.  To grow premium quality produce using a minimum of space , water and fertilizer. ByHafizAbdulrehman
  • 5. PARAMETER THAT IS CONTROLLED IN CEA  Light  Temperature  Carbon dioxide  Relative humidity ByHafizAbdulrehman
  • 6. LIGHT  White or reflective mulch films is use for reflect the sun light back to the plants.  Light levels of up to 42,000 lux for duration of 12-18 hours have been found to be increase plant growth by utilizing fluorescent lamps of suitable quality. ByHafizAbdulrehman
  • 8. TEMPERATURE  Forced air heaters:- commonly used in commercial green house ranges.  Infrared radiant heaters:- The major advantage of this type of heater is that it conserves energy and has no problem with pollutants. ByHafizAbdulrehman
  • 9. CARBON DIOXIDE Higher level of carbon dioxide in green houses could been managed by:  Ventilation  Decomposition of mulches  Solid carbon dioxide  Liquid carbon dioxide ByHafizAbdulrehman

  • 12. GREEN HOUSE  A green house is a structural building with different types of covering materials, such as a glass or plastic roof and frequently glass and plastic walls. ByHafizAbdulrehman

  • 14. HYDROPONIC Basic hydroponic systems:  Active : In this system pumps and other devices are used for deliver nutrient solution to plant root.  Passive : There is no any nutrient mover system. ByHafizAbdulrehman
