This document discusses several unconventional alternative energy sources, including osmotic power, tidal kites, helioculture, and biogas. Osmotic power generates hydroelectric power through osmosis using differences in salt concentrations between fresh and salt water. Tidal kites are being tested as a way to harvest tidal energy using kites instead of large turbines. Helioculture uses genetically modified microorganisms to convert CO2 and wastewater into fuel through photosynthesis. Biogas production involves bacteria breaking down cow manure to produce methane gas, which can then be collected and used to generate electricity. While still in development, these approaches aim to turn waste into usable energy with minimal environmental impacts.
