Jurassic Park
If you have ever seen Jurassic park, you understand it takes place on Isla Nublar, an island of the coast
of Costa Rica. Dr. Alan Grant a paleontologist is accompanied by Dr Ellie Sattler and many others that
have been invited by John Hammond, a billionaire who is the owner of InGen and financial supporter
of Grants research, to inspect the island. Once they are there, they discover Hammond has turned the
island into a zoo named Jurassic Park filled with genetically cloned dinosaurs. The differences between
the film and the novel follows:
Both the novel and the film include the same main characters but he is portrayed differently in the
film. Dr Alan Grant is the main protagonist in both the film and novel but unlike the film, in the novel
he likes children much like the ones that accompany them to the zoo like Tim and Lex. In the novel,
his lack of knowledge of not realizing that T rex vision is based on movement is not evident in the
film. Grant is portrayed as an Indiana Jones as well being a widower. In the film, he is in a relationship
with Ellie and dislikes children but being very knowledgeable on dinosaurs serving him and others.

Agricultural Production And Its Effect On People s...
1. Introduction
Subsidy is known as the payments or money given to individuals, firms or organisations by the
government, in order to help them financially. In this essay, it will be discussed that, three main
reasons for a government to subsidise a product, in terms of ensuring local output, improving people s
health, and helping low income families. However, issues will be bought while granting subsidies,
therefore, two cautions will also be suggested regarding the problem of inefficiency and damages to
foreign producers who are not receiving subsidies.
2. Reasons for a government to subsidise a product
2.1 To ensure local output
One of the reasons for a government to give subsidies is to ensure local output. Government will give
out subsidies to local sectors, like farms and small businesses, helping them to set up or to continue
their production. Although there are always imported goods from other countries, they cannot be fully
relied on. Take agricultural production as an example, China

outputs, if there is a drought in China, those receiving the output might suffer from lack of food or
have to accept the higher price from other countries. Therefore, in order to ensure local output for
daily necessities like food, the government will subsidise this kind of productions. In America, there
are food that the government is paying to produce, among all,

The Islamic Revolution and its Impac on Marji’s Family Essay
The Pahlavi dynasty caused Marji s family and other Iranian citizens to become dysphonic. The
dynasty mismanaged Iranian money and was manipulated by Western nations. Enmity grew towards
the monarchy and ultimately the Iranian people wanted a revolution. Marji s family had strong
animosity toward the Shah. Many of Marji s family members as well as others fought against the
Shah. But the Islamic Revolution took a turn that many were not prepared for. Mohammad Reza
Pahlavi (The Shah), the son of Reza Shah took the throne after his father on September 16, 1941. The
Shah continued his father s politics and modernization of Iran. He proceeded to Westernize Iran by

Citizens of Iran were infuriated by the calamitous coup d état and overthrowing of Mossadeq. Dr.
Mohammed Mossadeq was deemed by Iranian people as a hero. In addition to the complications with
the oil, The Shah s reputation began to deteriorate. The Shah was scrutinized as a puppet of the
Western nations, particularly the United States. Citizens of Iran began to have aversion towards the
actions of the monarchy. The Shah altered the Iranian solar calendar inducing outrage amongst many
Iranian Muslims. Another issue was the Shah s distribution of money. The Shah spent over 300 million
dollars in extravagant luxuries during a three day celebration; rather than using the money for the
needs of Iran. Citizens of Iran suffered greatly from The Shah s regime. He was considered a dictator
and used harsh punishments for rebellions. The Shah was a corrupt leader who oppressed the Iranian
people. Citizens of Iran finally had enough with the Shah and decided to overthrow him. The Islamic
Revolution (Iranian Revolution) lead by Ayatollah Kjomeini began in 1977. Interminable protests
against the Shah s dynasty commenced, and by January 1978, the protests became deadly. Hundreds
of Islamist students and religious leaders in the city of Qom were furious over a story in the
government controlled press they felt was libelous. (Wikipedia) It was estimated that over seventy

Abrahamic Covenant Chart A covenant is defined as a promise or agreement between two parties. The
Abrahamic Covenant is a precise covenant between God and Abraham which can be seen in numerous
events, throughout scripture. Genesis 12 50 reveals the Abrahamic covenant from Abraham to Joseph.
The covenant is displayed in event and incidents throughout the history of Abraham and his
descendants, which was part of God s perfect will. God called out a specific people for himself, who
have throughout the covenant demonstrated a lack of faith and obedience, nevertheless God still
fulfilled His promises.
This Abrahamic Covenant Chart is designed to provide clarity in determining the key points and
verses that illustrate the covenant between God and Abraham. The chart is split into several parts
detailing the following aspects of the covenant: the first is the reference or bible text, the next four
factors will highlight factors for the audience to appropriately understand and apply the meaning of
each reference being; to whom this reference was addressed, the circumstances in which this reference
where reiterated, composition of the covenant, and analyze the development of the covenant
throughout the Book of Genesis. Lastly the chart will also note any changes to be aware of in Genesis
chapters 12 50. The chart is most easily understood referring to the reference to the far left of the chart

The Gatorade Sports Drink Company
The Gatorade sports drink was founded in 1965 by a group of university physicians at University of
Florida after an assistant coached asked the why his football players were so affected by the heat. This
lead to the discovery and invention of a carbohydrate and electrolyte drink to help replenish and refuel
the nutrients lost through sweat and exercise. The University of Florida s mascot is the Gator, which is
how they came up with the name Gatorade. PepsiCo acquired Gatorade in 2001. Gatorade also has a
69.5% market share in sports drinks. PepsiCo has 6 divisions, North American Beverages, Frito Lay
North America, Quaker foods North America, Latin America, Europe Sub Saharan Africa, and Asia,

It has to be noted that companies such as Walmart employ the highest number of employees compared
to other local companies and so they try to minimize any costs related to their workforce, especially
the costs caused by unionization amongst their workers (Littlemore 2013). These companies, due to
their significant presence in various continents and their deep pockets, are able to easily crush any
efforts towards unionization at their stores (Littlemore 2013). Adding in the factors of expenses that
temporary workers pay to employment agencies to get hired and to form a union, temporary workers
stand little chance against their influential and rich employers. We know that setting up a union
involves contributing a certain amount of their wages for union dues and there are some expenses
related to service the union as well (Littlemore 2013). How then, can we expect contingent workers to
contribute to unions and also get through daily expenses with the meager wages that they earn. These
workers are trapped in a vicious loop that only increases their helplessness and reduces their chances
of entering unions to achieve a higher standard of living. Multi national companies have started to
focus on their HR departments and initiated benefit plans and employee schemes for their workers.
These schemes are supposed to reflect the amount of care and responsibility that firms have for their
workers but the reality is that these schemes are simple mechanisms to

Brazilwood was a key product for Portuguese trade. But the focus on timber would soon change. Cash
crops in the form of sugar cane production became the focus. Slavery was needed for the growing of
sugar cane and replaced the unsuccessful usage of native people for labor. Regular slave trade between
Brazil and Africa was begun in the 1550s as a temporary measure to replace the Indians decimated by
war and disease, but it lasted for over 300 years, and the institution of slavery persisted until 1889,
Brazil being the last country of the American hemisphere to abolish it. The agricultural focus of sugar
cane changed to coffee bean production in the late 19th century. As coffee began to take off, slavery
was abolished. With the influx of Africans halted, foreign immigration was promoted. This would
have a profound effect on the societal make up of the colony. Mass migrations were already occurring
as the Portuguese had established their minute South American empire. Between 1884 and 1920 three
million immigrants, mainly Italian, entered the country. Portuguese, Germans, Italians, Spanish,
Britons, the descendants of African slaves and the products of racial mixtures of Brazilian Indians,
Europeans, and Africans would be the kin of those who football would become entrenched within.

Webster Groves, Missouri, raised by his two parents, Irene and Earl T. Franzen. Growing up, his
passion for writing was never praised in his household, especially by his parents. In a recent interview
held in an office at the University of California, Santa Cruz, Franzen was asked by interviewer
Stephen J. Burn, if his work was ever encouraged at home. Franzen responded, Mostly not, no. I hate

Postmodernism s The Swan As A Metaphor For Love
Postmodernism is a very unique era within American literature. In previous time periods authors wrote
very structured eventful stories that would often relate to the most common themes of the time,
however Postmodernism completely defied this formula. In most cases Postmodern stories do not
have story arcs nor do they have common themes. At most, the Post era can be bound by very vague
similarities. Most of the stories are conveyed through streams of conscious, which is essentially using
an unedited snippet of someone s life to create a story. There are no inner monologues or poetic
speeches, rather they only showcase a small scale continuous sliver of life. The narration device
similarity is cut and dry, however this can not be said for the themes within Postmodernism. In the
vaguest of words, Post era literature can be bound within a common ideal of expressing the terrible
and disappointing aspects of life. One of the most commonly attacked aspects of life is the sense of
love. In most forms of art and media love is portrayed as a glorious thing so long as it is true. Love
can conquer any mountain and defeat any foe, however Postmodernism portrays love in a very
different manner. In The Swan as a Metaphor for Love love is compared to a swan. On the surface
swans are seen as majestic creatures, similar to how love is seen as a beautiful emotion, but
underneath the water swans are revolting creatures covered in swan shit and pond scum . This idea

Video Games And Its Effects On The Media
Introduction
Many studies suggest that violent video games contribute to the aggressions of video games players.
Today over 85% of video games contained violence, and the rest have explicit content like sex, drugs,
and disregard to human life (Carnagey, Anderson, Bushman, 2007). Someone who is new to video
games is exposing themselves to violence, and for many the general concern comes from being
influence from such games. For example, video games first influence school shooting that first started
in West Paducah, Kentucky in 1997, Jonesboro, Arkansas in 1998, Springfield, Oregon in 1998, etc.

Although the research literature on violent video games is a recent phenomenon, there s has been little
funding for such research (Anderson, 2004). Also taking into account a meta analysis of published and
unpublished studies reveal they may be some levels of bias between video games and violence than
disconfirming studies (Decamp, 2015). The negative views the public has of video games has
increased the connotation that violent video games act as murder simulators, or that games are
gateways for young children to learn to kill. Linking this medium to deadly assaults, and criminalizing
the youth (Markey, Markey, French, 2015). One method game researchers use to overcome the
limitations of past research is by using PSM (propensity score matching) a statistical method use to
estimate the outcomes of a treatment. The results show the comparison of violent video games effects
with environmental effects, and social risks. The relationship between the player and their family
helps evaluates these behaviors such as violence in home, school, parental attachment, and close
supervision (Decamp, 2015).
In 1972 the Surgeon General issue a warning that correlates the relationship between media violence
and antisocial behavior, and that it requires immediate action. During the past when video games were
first introduced, researcher s studied the relationship between violent media and aggression. Deeming

The Wheel of Life was originally created by Buddha and is the most important painting in Tibetan

Representing greed, hatred and delusion the animals in the middle of the wheel are the three spiritual
poisons of Buddha s philosophy (I Tibet Travel, 2017). The six realms represent the reincarnation of a
person into each individual stage. The heavenly realm contains beings who relish great power,
prosperity and longevity. They are blind to the suffering of others due to their high status and
privilege. The second realm is the realm of jealousy, in which beings are continuously aspiring to be
superior and have no tolerance for underlings. The realm of hungry ghosts is associated with
compulsion, obsession and addiction. They are constantly looking to fulfil the desire within with
materialistic objects. Beings in the hell realm, have a hot temper that makes them angry at everything,
and they push away those who express affection and kindness for them. The animal realm is
recognised by its prejudgment, stupidity and self righteousness. Beings in this realm avoid uneasiness,
the unaccustomed and live comfortable lives. The human realm is the only realm from which one can

Christmas Music In Christmas
A lot of people look forward to Christmas season, especially retailers because sales gets a boost. It is
the reason why a lot of shopping malls air Christmas songs ahead of the Yuletide season.
However, a psychologist warned that hearing too much of the year end holiday melodies could be bad
for mental health. Linda Blair, a clinical psychologist, explained that listening to too many carols
makes people feel trapped. It is a constant reminder to purchase gifts, cook holiday meals, and
organize Christmas parties, the Daily Mail reported.
Kaching of Christmas
But for those in the retail business, it is the time when the cash register keeps on ringing which is why
department store and shopping mall operators start airing Christmas songs weeks ahead of December
25. As a result of the constant exposure to carols ahead of the year end holiday, 61 percent of people
suffer from stress during the Yuletide, the American Psychiatric Association said.
Because music bypasses rationality, it goes straight to people s emotions, Blair pointed out. It involves
several brain areas that induce emotions and involve reflexes, conditioning, visual imagery,
expectancy, memory, and emotional contagion.
If played too loudly, Christmas music would likely irritate people. For shoppers, it would use the
energy of mall goers trying not to hear the carols, Blair said. Retail workers need to tune out the
Christmas music, she said; otherwise, it will stop them from being able to focus on anything else.

include the use of a songlike quality in dialogue and the telling of stories, the use of personification

Soyinka uses personification and metaphor to lend an exotic, poetic quality to the play. In this excerpt
from page 1159, Elesin personifies envy, symbolizing its attacking quality, uses houseposts as a
metaphor to symbolize the building of trust, and termites as a metaphor to symbolize the way in which
time eats at all things. Elesin also uses the twilight hour, or the coming of the end of the day, to
symbolize the approaching of the end of his life, and bats and rodents as symbols of things that might
tarnish the honor given him because of his duty to his king and the trust built with his king. Line 213
begins:
Elesin: The world was mine. Our joint hands
Raised houseposts of trust that withstood
The siege of envy and the termites of time.
But the twilight hour brings bats and rodents
Should I yield them cause to foul the rafters? (1159)

Wang Lung In The Good Earth

self. In this way, his life is a prime example of how traditional values deteriorate under the influence
of fortune.
The most peace and joy filled period in the Wang family existence comes when they are just wealthy
enough to have everything they need. But this interval does not last long. In the early part of the story,
when Wang Lung is penniless, he is content. His needs are all met by the earth that he lives close to.
He is humble, honest, and loves to work his land. The first years of his life with O lan are simple and

about his appearance. His attitude toward everything else takes a fall as well but sadly his ego rises.

his son into buying the old Great House, rather than being content living on his land. The thought of

Snakes tend to differ significantly from other terrestrial vertebrates due to their lack of any
appendages. Although such a characteristic would appear to be of a significant disadvantage on land,
snakes have managed to secure themselves a variety of niches and adaptations. The elongated body
gave many snakes the ability to strangle their prey and easily inhabit aquatic and nonaquatic
environments alike. Some snakes have also been able to climb trees and managed to out speed or
compete with animals with limbs. The specific locomotion of snakes can thus be a potentially
important indicator of ecological differences between species [7]. Understanding the ways that snakes
move helps us understand the types of factors responsible for their form, while giving insight into
inventing machines and instruments that can use this motion for everyday use. This paper will look at
the specifics and varieties of snake locomotion, while touching on some of the factors like anatomy
and physiology that affect snakes survival. Understanding the origins of snakes and their iconic
locomotion have been previously poorly understood [1]. Accurate conclusions about the development
of the snakes elongated, legless shape [were] hindered by the relative lack of informative fossils of
early stem snakes [1]. Despite this, questions concerning the origin of their anatomy are usually
narrowed down to two different environmental influences: either 1) aquatic life or 2) fossorial life.

Factors On The Effect Of Elevation Effects On Plant Growth
Elevations Effects on Plant Growth
James Walters, 8/25/2017, Biology 132 01, Alan Liang Jillian Beard
Introduction
Plants rely on the environment in which they live to grow, and different environmental conditions
provide a wide array of different foliage. Many studies have concluded that altitude effects the heights
of a variety of different species (1). In a study comparing beech tree growth, factors such as light and
nutrient availability were shown to increase as tree height increased. Along with these findings, it was
found that growth rate declined as altitude increased (2). Another study observing elevations effect on
Malosma Laurinais showed that increased altitudes were correlated with stronger and healthier leaves
for the plants (3). Plants primarily rely on water, and sunlight to grow, but other factors play a role in
development as well. Elevation can have a drastic impact on the speciation and growth of different
plant species for many reasons. Surface level determines soil moisture content, wind speed, and the
amount of sunlight that a plot of vegetation will receive. Common knowledge of how plants grow,
suggest that the high soil moisture content at low elevations will increase plant height due to the
excess of resources being provided.
Plants in the campus lodge area in Brocton, NY have a vast variety of different growing conditions
and climates. We decided to examine if different soil elevations had an impact on the growth of plants
in this area. Foliage

Monteverdi Italian Opera Comparison
Italian opera is the term used to describe compositions of opera composed in Italy or the term used to
describe compositions of opera which use the Italian language. Italian opera first found its foothold
around the beginning of the seventeenth century through composers such as Jacopo Peri with his
composition Dafne which was one of the first compositions to be considered an opera. Among the
many composers who brought opera to fame within the musical world, Claudio Monteverdi and
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart were two of the most prominent composers of Italian opera. Although
Monteverdi and Mozart were composing Italian operas over a hundred and fifty years apart from each
other, their operas contained many similar characteristics. In this essay, Monteverdi s Italian opera L

This can be seen in Eurydice s piece in bars 257 259 of Act Four shown below in Example 2.
Monteverdi uses this compositional technique within this opera in order to effectively and efficiently
portray the emotion or mood of the specific character singing at the time. In the example above s
specific point the play, Eurydice is speaking of times and people who are sweet to her therefore
Monteverdi s use of a high pitched and sustained notes contributes and enables the singer of Eurydice
to effectively portray the character s thoughts to the audience.
Another musical characteristic of Monteverdi s Italian operas is that he follows the traditional opera
structure of four to five acts. Within L Orfeo , Monteverdi composes the story within five acts. This
can be seen in a brief description of the opera from an edited text by Nicholas John

Vanishing Points In Las Meninas
Diego Velazquez creates three center points in Las Meninas the palace official, the young princess,
and the King and Queen in order to emphasize the contrast between the real, ideal, and reflected
worlds.
The palace official in the doorway is the actual vanishing point of Las Meninas, which creates a life
like feel to the painting. Velazquez blurs the line between art and reality by painting Las Meninas on a
10.5 by 9 foot canvas and creates a three dimensional area that the viewer can walk into (Earle). The
lines of the ceiling and corners meet at the open door where the palace official stands, exactly eye
level to the spectator (Wicks). This vanishing point helps to establish this painting as a physical space,
rather than a mere canvas.

Examining the Anti-Immigration Policies Essay
Examining the Anti Immigration Policies
United States immigration policies are designed as deterrents to immigration into the United States.
Frankly, their message has always been Stay out! Recently, California policies have taken a harsher
stab at immigration, namely Mexican immigrants that constitute the largest Latin American minority
in the United States. This paper intends to examine these policies, the effects they have had on the
Mexican population in California, and the connection they have to the anti immigrant sentiment felt
throughout the country.
First, though, looking closely at anti immigrant sentiment in America and policies that have been

During World War II, the U.S. and Mexico reached an agreement in which a massive number of
Mexicans would be transported to America as temporary workers in agriculture because of the
anticipated worker shortage created by the war. (6) Of all the labor used in production throughout the
first half of the century, 75 percent is believed to be Mexican. (7) It is obvious then that since the
beginning of the century, the United States has been a source of employment for Mexicans out of
work and it is this attitude which has created the incentive for Mexican migration during the latter half
of the century.
Anti immigrant sentiments felt in America have much to do with this attitude. The fact is that most
Mexicans immigrate to this country in search of employment and of a better life for their children, as
do most other immigrants into the U.S . This is seen as an economic threat by many Americans
because of the large number of Mexicans residing in the United States: 62 percent of the entire
Hispanic population of America as of 1988.(8)
California, which is home to the largest Mexican population in the U.S., has vigorously expresses its
discontent with the current status of immigration. Pete Wilson, governor of California and an anti
immigrant proponent, claims that the large numbers of immigrants settling in California are reeking
havoc on its economy. According to him, Los Angeles alone is inhabited by

Jewish Christian Relations Essay
While we speak about the tenuous relationship between Christians and Jews dating back to the time of
Christ, the seeds for the schism within Judaism may have been planted more than 500 years prior.
Jeremiah was one of a group of distinguished prophets whose works became part of the Old Testament
canon. The Jewish quot;wisdom quot; prophets lectured, warned and blamed all who would listen
about the sins of their own people, the resulting punishments that God had prescribed for them, and
what they had to do to get back into God s good graces.
Some prophets targeted Jewish monarchs as an idolatrous distraction which prevented the people from
properly hearing the Word of God. Other prophets still maintained that ... Show more content on

quot; The Old Israel along with its Old Testament...had been succeeded, fulfilled, completed, replaced,
and/or displaced by the New Israel, the New Testament, the Christian Church, the new people of God,
quot; said Rabbi A. James Rudin about the Christian attitude during the formative years of the Church
(Fisher, Rudin, Tannebaum 9).
Sensitivity relating to the perceived expiration of the first Mosaic covenant has brought forth a minor
controversy in recent decades about the political correctness of referring to the Old Testament as being
quot;old. quot; Some Catholic Scripture professors express a preference for quot;Hebrew Scriptures,
quot; while others apologetically retain the old reference to prevent confusion. (Pazcuzzi 2/97). The
issue of Judaism having been superceded by Christianity will be addressed at various points in this
paper.
In addition to the writings of Jeremiah, other Old Testament works written in the centuries prior to the
birth Christ pointed to the coming of a messiah to save the Jewish people from their continuing history
of enslavement, persecution, and dislocation. Some Jews waited for a David like king to rescue them.
Others felt that Jesus Christ who had suffered for the sins of his people, the one who had endured and
conquered death was the true messiah. Whether the messiah had come or the messiah was still yet to
come was the key issue between the Jews who remained Jews during the first and succeeding
centuries versus those who

Color Purple Themes
Alice Walker s highly regarded and controversial novel, The Color Purple, has been the rage of film
circles since its big screen release in 1985. Steven Spielberg, director, chose Alice Walker s story of an
impoverished rural black community in the early twentieth century American South as his vehicle for
dramatic affirmation from his distorted reputation as a creator of popular youthful fantasies.
Consequently, he chose the perfect story for this transformation. The Color Purple depicts the tragic
lives of a dirt poor African American South and the dirt poor morals and values that coincided with
this community. Specifically, the film and novel track the life Celie and those closely surrounding her.

She vividly conveys the desperateness of the situation while constantly keeping a quiet optimism and
faith, portrayed almost exclusively through Goldberg s telling body language, speaking volumes of the
cultural male domination. This concept of domination versus subordination is also displayed through
Sofia s character and her relationships. Controversially progressive, Sofia fights back when Harpo

Termite Lab
The effect of pens on the Reticulitermes flavipes termite Abstract This experiment was constructed to
determine which type of writing utensil the termites were most attracted to and why. The experiment
was performed by placing two separate circles (one red papermate and one lead pencil) on a piece of
paper to see what line is favored by the termite. The termite was placed on the lead pencil path first,
and then on the red papermate pen path to count how many seconds the termite remained on or
followed the pathway. The termite stayed on the red papermate line for a much more significant time
than on the lead pencil line. The presence of insect pheromones that chemically control the behavior

During each of five (5) trials a different Reticulitermes flavipes was used. In the course of the first
trial the termite was placed on the red papermate pen path, timing the termite with a stop watch, the
insect stayed on the path for the complete thirty seconds. Then the same termite was placed on the
pencil path, and stayed for a total of zero seconds. During the second trial a new termite was placed on
the red papermate pen line it also stayed on the path for the maximum thirty seconds. Later the same
termite was placed on the lead pencil path and reacted just like the first termite, walked away from the
pencil path. It was very odd that during the third trial the termite did react to the lead pencil circle for
10 (ten) seconds, meaning it followed the path of the pencil for that time. In the fourth and fifth trial
the termite did the same thing as the first and second termites they followed only the red papermate
pen path and walked away from the lead pencil circle. Results The table below shows all the results

INTRODUCTION
Enzymes are biological catalysts that speed up chemical reactions, without being used up or changed.
Catalase is a globular protein molecule that is found in all living cells. A globular protein is a protein
with its molecules curled up into a ball shape. All enzymes have an active site. This is where another
molecule(s) can bind with the enzyme. This molecule is known as the substrate. When the substrate
binds with the enzyme, a product is produced. Enzymes are specific to their substrate, because the
shape of their active site will only fit the shape of their substrate. It is said that the substrate is
complimentary to their substrate.
When the substrate binds with the enzyme, it forms an enzyme substrate complex. The ... Show more

However, temperature difference can affect the experiment. To prevent this, I will conduct the
experiment at the same time of day if more than one day is needed. This is because it is generally
colder in the mornings and evening than the afternoon.
Also, I will hold the test tube by the tip. If I were to grab the test tube with my whole hand, my body
heat would be passed onto the test tube causing a temperature increase. Therefore, not creating a
reliable set of results.
pH Enzymes also have an optimum pH level. The pH of a solution affects the enzyme s secondary and
tertiary structures. These bonds make the shape of an enzyme s active site. So, if these bonds are
broken, the shape of the active site changes and is distorted. If there is no active site, there is no
reaction resulting in no products. If the enzyme is put in a pH that is very different from the optimum
pH, it can cause the enzyme to denature.
Most enzymes have an optimum pH of around 7, which is fairly neutral. To ensure the experiment is a
fair test, I will use the same pH of hydrogen peroxide in every test.
Inhibitors As mentioned earlier, enzymes have an active site specific to the substrate molecules.
However, it is possible for other molecules similar to enzyme s substrate to bind with the enzyme s
active site and therefore, inhibit the enzyme s task.
When the inhibitor binds with the enzyme s active site for a short space of time it is known as
competitive inhibition because it is

Research Paper On Hypnosis
A common question is, what is hypnosis and how does it work? According to the American
Psychology Association hypnosis is a therapeutic technique in which clinicians make suggestions to
individuals who have undergone a procedure designed to relax them and focus their minds (American
Psychology Association, 2016). Hypnosis is called hypnotherapy and hypnotic suggestion. James
Braid, a 19th century Scottish surgeon originated those terms based on the word hypnos, which is
Greek for to sleep (Harris, 2016).
When the person is hypnotized they feel calm and relaxed. The therapist using verbal repetition makes
them more open to suggestions. The individual being hypnotized is conscious but is able to ignore the
most of everything going on around them. When being hypnotized the person excludes all other
thoughts.
Hypnosis did not come into the picture until the late 1700s. The father of modern hypnotism is Franz

hypnosis works. One of those is dissociation, and the other is a kind of role playing (Bjork, 2009

Social Expectations In To Kill A Mockingbird
A society will often dictate what is expected of citizens through the unspoken social expectations of
the community. These expectations set by society often lead to inequalities, in terms of power and
inclusion, which can be seen through Maycomb s court system and Atticus s statements of Maycomb s
social expectations. In the novel To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee, the conflict between social
expectations and inclusion in society stems from the racism and sexism found in the community of
Maycomb. This demonstrates that to achieve equality in a community, social expectations that are set
by the public cannot limit or restrain a specific set of people in terms of power or inclusion in society.
In Maycomb s society, the social expectation of white men having more power than black men
illustrates the inequality the community faced when racism is added to social expectations. While
Atticus is talking to Jem about how the court system works, he states, In our courts, when it s a white
man s word against a black man s, the white man always wins (Lee 223). Atticus s statement reveals
that social expectations are related to racism because it causes an inequality in power between black
and white civilians. Based on the color of one s skin, it would determine the amount of power they
would have in society. This tells readers that to achieve equality in a community, it is necessary for
everyone, regardless of race, to have equal power in terms of voices and opinions so that all

Patient examination in physical therapy includes measures such as strength, flexibility, range of
motion, motor function, and quality of life. After all of this has been done, a physical therapist uses
clinical reasoning to determine what is wrong with the patient and what should be done to help the
patient improve. He uses the gathered information to develop an individualized care plan for each
patient, indicating the patient s short and long term goals and expected outcomes as a result of the
therapy sessions (U.S. Bureau, 2015).
Once the plan has been established, the therapist works with his patient using stretches, exercises, and
hands on therapy to help alleviate pain, increase mobility, and prevent further injury. The therapist
evaluates and tracks the patient s progress and modifies the plan by trying new treatments when
needed. A physical therapist must be able to communicate well with patients, families, and other
healthcare professionals and must be able to show integrity and compassion for his patients. Another
important aspect of a physical therapist s job is to teach his patients appropriate ways to perform
certain tasks so that further injury does not occur, promoting future health and wellness (U.S. Bureau,
2015).

Examples Of Character Changes In Remember The Titans

In the film Remember the titans which was directed by Boaz Yakin. I thought that Julius had changed
the most during the film and these changes occurred in these three points. One point is how Julius was
a very strong an opinionated person. The second point is Julius and Gerry finally confronted each

captaincy roles to work hard together for the team to follow in example.
Julius was a very opinionated person, who was all about himself and not looking after his own team or
anyone else for that matter. For example when Julius was confronted by Gerry, during this
conversation Julius said I m supposed to wear out myself for this team? What team? Nope that s not
what I m going to do is I m going to look after myself. When this confrontation was happening there
were many close up camera shots, this was because the director wanted to show the emotion and anger

Persuasive Essay On Owning A Car
WELL BEING Leasing a car is one way to finance a new automobile. When you lease a car, your
payments are determined by the portion of the life of the car that you actually use: the depreciation of
the car over the period of time that you are leasing. Therefore, with a lease, you can drive a more
expensive car with lower payments, sometimes. However, a key point to remember is that you do not
own the car when you lease. Leasing is like renting. You rent the car for a certain period of time, but
you are also responsible for a down payment and some taxes and fees very similar to a security
deposit on an apartment. At the end of the lease contract (or rental agreement), you give the vehicle
back and you may be charged for any excessive wear on the vehicle. Your initial money down will not
be applied to these charges. These will be additional charges due at the time you return the car.
Furthermore, you are limited to driving the number of miles specified in your contract.
If you exceed the total mileage allowed in the lease, you will pay additional fees per mile that you
went beyond the limit. This can become expensive! Some lease contracts may also include a turn in
fee. A closedend lease will allow you the option of purchasing the car at the end of the lease. If you
choose to purchase the car, you will have a credit applied to the payments you have made previously,
but you will still have to negotiate the purchase price. If you do not have a closed end lease, you will

by heavy proteinuria ( 3.5 g/24 h), edema, hypoalbuminemia, and hyperlipidemia. RPGN is
characterized by active sediment (RBC casts and dysmorphic RBCs) and rapid development of acute
renal failure usually over a period of weeks to months. Glomerulonephritis accounts for the majority
of progressive renal disease in many parts of the world.
ETIOLOGY
Glomerulonephritis has diverse etiologies related to disorders of the immune system, including
abnormal immunoglobulin and complement regulation. Glomerulonephritis is caused by immune
processes that lead to deposition of antibodies and complement within the glomerulus. This results in
injury to intrinsic glomerular cells, infiltration of leukocytes and damage to the capillary ... Show

Hematuria is a key manifestation of glomerulonephritis. Glomerular inflammation leads to glomerular
hemorrhage where blood enters the Bowman s space and erythrocytes are incorporated into RBC
casts. These casts are the hallmark of glomerular injury and are almost always present in acute
glomerulonephritis. RBC casts may persist for an indefinite period after an acute injury but will
generally decrease in number as inflammation

Thyroid Carcinomas
Introduction Thyroid cancer (TC) is the most common endocrine malignancy accounting for 1 % of
cancers worldwide, and its incidence is rising faster than many other cancers, with the highest overall
rate of increase in cancer deaths. The annual incidence varies considerably by geographic area, age
and sex. The increase is attributable to better detection of small carcinomas as a result of improved
diagnostic accuracy. However, the number of patients who die due to this disease also increases [1].
TC is a heterogeneous disease that is classified into differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC) (95 %),
undifferentiated (anaplastic) thyroid carcinoma (ATC) and medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC).
DTCs derive from the follicular epithelial cells, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Clinical trials with various combinations of doxorubicin, bleomycin and a platinum based agent have
yielded unsatisfactory results, with response rates of 14 % [5]. Similarly disappointing, the adverse
events (AEs) profile of these drugs is dose limiting, with patients experiencing significant neutropenia,
nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia and even congestive heart failure [6]. As the results of
conventional treatment modalities have been disappointing and therefore, new therapies are needed.
RAI resistant TC, metastatic MTC and ATC represent one of the most appealing models for biological
therapies. Recent years have been characterized by significant advances in the understanding of the
molecular basis of thyroid carcinogenesis. Many tumor initiating genetic events have been already
identified in TC. Interestingly, there is a typical morphological and histopathologically disease
presentation that consistently correlates with specific molecular pathway deregulation, and some of its
features are associated with more aggressive tumor behavior. So, therapeutic agents that target
involved biological abnormalities have been identified. Multiple clinical trials have been carried out.
In this review, we describe the role of target therapy and some new modalities in TCs. Background on
molecular biology Most of PTC are associated with a mutation in one of three genes involved in the
signaling of the mitogen activated protein (MAP) kinase pathway RAS, BRAF or RET/PTC

Viruses, Antibiotics, And Antibiotics Essay
Diseases are humans enemies. There are million kinds of diseases among the world. Some of them
were created by ever changing human activities; some of them cause infections by microorganisms,
such as viruses, bacteria, fungi and parasites. Those tiny things are truly annoying to us when we
suffer sickness. They could even be fatal to us. If we want to cure ourselves effectively we will have to
kill them and inhibit their growth using the drugs called antibiotics . Antibiotics are great against these
infections, but they are not perfect. Pathogenic bacteria gradually evolve to survive in different
environments just like the ways all creatures do. Though we can kill most of them after using
antibiotics. A little group of them still live and become resistant to the antibiotics aimed at killing
them. They multiply their population and create stronger bacteria in order to keep on infecting us. The
bacteria s ability of fighting with antibiotics is named as antibiotic resistance .
Antibiotic resistance does not evolve frequently. However, due to the rapid social development, more
and more bizarre diseases are appearing around us. The diversity in the standards and perceptions of
living has brought us bunch of consequences, including the illogical treatments toward illness and
pharmaceutical production. Many people don t know how to use drugs correctly or refuse to do so;
some industry owners know how to properly manage their production lines but refuse to do that.

article cited above was written by authors with affiliations to The Cardiovascular Research Group, and
talks about the importance of oxygenating the mitochondria that are affected due to ischemic changes
during an Acute MI. The article goes on to discuss the importance of oxygen during acute myocardial
infarction, and how reducing ischemia will inadvertently help with reperfusion. This article discusses
the benefit of oxygen therapy in acute MI on a more cellular basis, but does not go into length about
the affects that oxygen has on a patient s mortality rate. Bennett, M., Lehm, J., Jepson, N. (2015, July

The Main Problems With The Constitution
Felix Amza Professor Omowale POS1041 Due 06/23/2015 Project Question Nr. III One of the main
problems with the constitution is what some may argue that the role of the president was not very
thought of and linked to the constitution, therefore jeopardizing the nation to a dysfunctional and
dangerous presidency. Throughout the history of American government, there have been a couple
presidencies which have managed to gain high power and disregard the wellbeing of the nation,
behave inappropriately and even unconstitutional. A good example of what some argue to have been a
bad presidency, would be the case of George W. Bush, which on different occasions, he thought it
would be suitable to disapprove of democracy and legal norms, by acting in ways such as; ordering
government representatives to bypass statues and treaties, not allowing congressional oversight and
jump into unwanted actions such as starting the war with Iraq which was not favored in the Congress.
Normally the constitutions contains systems in place that should be able to counterattack such actions
and behaviors, like the famous division of power and checks and balances . As the government of
America is divided into three powers; the executory, judiciary and legislative, the system of checks
and balances gives the three divisions of government the power of checking upon each other and
ability of taking action when there is an unconstitutional act from one s side. The system of checks
and balances may

Groundwater Contamination Research Paper
When there is an addition of undesired substances from human activities in the groundwater, it can
cause groundwater contamination. There are many industrial operations that cause contamination in
ground water, due to the large quantities of chemicals used. Chlorinated hydrocarbons, which are used
in cleaning products and solutions containing chromium, which are used in metal plating, lead to the
groundwater contamination. These industrial wastes are dumped in storage tanks and they leak, thus
causing contamination. There is greater awareness of the issues and hazards of the dumping of
chemical waste and there are laws restricting the dumping of this waste. Since many individuals rely
on groundwater for drinking water, many of them are drinking contaminated water. Due to this, there
are many health risks including, hepatitis, poisoning and cancer when exposed to polluted water. As
well, the wildlife can be harmed from the contaminated ground water. A good disposal method of
ground waste consists of a chemical treatment that is able to convert the hazardous waste into
environmentally safe materials. A highly toxic chemical, trichloroethylene, becomes non toxic when
the chlorine atoms are converted to chloride anions. As well, when chromium containing waste has
highly toxic chromate anions are converted into Chromium (III) ion, ... Show more content on

Stereotypes Of America Essay
Take a step back and hone in on some of the negative characteristics of American Citizens. Whether
one may realize it or not, all countries have citizens with positive and negative characteristics despite
being a powerhouse country like the United States. Just as naturally as Americans believe they live in
one of the greatest nations in the world, often times people of other nations think the exact same thing.
Looking at negative factors helps one to better understand cultural perspectives and imagine what
other people think of our nation s people. Americans are most notably associated with their weight and
this is most likely the first thing that comes to a foreigner s mind. Unfortunately, this is not a false
perception of America. Over seventy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As if Americans live in a microwave culture, waiting for what seems to be hours before the
microwave buzzes, they are impatient, and constantly resorting to technology. Family dinners are no
longer centered around heart to heart discussions about events that occurred that day, but instead are
centered around a television and an exchange of a few words on a lucky night. To add to the
distraction, family members are on their phones finalizing work from that day, or staying updated with
some social media app rather than devoting attention to the people surrounding them or the fuel being
put into their bodies. People act as if there is no time in the day to take care of the important things in
life like family. Most even get frustrated when an ad pops up on youtube and wait impatiently for the
five seconds to be up in order to hit the skip ad button. As technology becomes an increasingly vital
part of everyone s lives, people become more impatient, and less in tune with what is going on. One
mom friend now orders her groceries online, gets the shopping done for her by some employee, and
simply pulls up beside the grocery store to get the groceries delivered into the trunk of her car. She is
consumed in technology and it is teaching her to be impatient, as she will not even tolerate shopping
for her own groceries or standing in the checkout

The International Monetary Fund Essay
1. Introduction
1.1 What is the International Monetary Fund (IMF)?
The International Monetary Fund is an organisation that provides short term credit to 186 member
nations. The International Monetary Fund works to maintain orderly payments arrangements between
countries and to promote growth of the world economy without inflation. It supports free trade in
goods and services. To stabilize its members economies, the IMF provides policy advice and short
term loans when a member nation encounters financial difficulty.

The cumulative effect of history on the institution has been rather more profound and requires a longer
and larger perspective.
The fixed but adjustable exchange rate system ended in August 1971 when President Nixon closed the
gold window, ending the U.S. commitment to keep the dollar price of gold at $35 per ounce. In 1973
the month of March, major countries agreed that the fixed exchange rate system would not be
restored. Thereafter, currency values would be determined in various ways ranging from freely
floating exchange rates at one end to firmly fixed exchange rates at the other. By then, many countries
had removed exchange controls on both trade and capital movements. The international economy
faced a new challenge; they had to reconcile growth, low inflation and high employment with open
trading arrangements and international capital mobility. The oil shocks of the 1970s and the mistaken
economic policies in many countries that produced large deficits and inflation increased the difficulty
of achieving these goals and objectives. Nothing in the founding mission or the accumulated
experience of the IMF prepared it to deal with these evolving challenges.
2. How the IMF help with the financial crises and their problems.

We know that setting up a union involves contributing a certain amount of their wages for union dues and there are some expenses related to service the union as well (Littlemore 2013). How then, can we expect contingent workers to contribute to unions and also get through daily expenses with the meager wages that they earn. These workers are trapped in a vicious loop that only increases their helplessness and reduces their chances of entering unions to achieve a higher standard of living. • 11. Postmodernism s The Swan As A Metaphor For Love Postmodernism is a very unique era within American literature. In previous time periods authors wrote very structured eventful stories that would often relate to the most common themes of the time, however Postmodernism completely defied this formula. In most cases Postmodern stories do not have story arcs nor do they have common themes. At most, the Post era can be bound by very vague similarities. Most of the stories are conveyed through streams of conscious, which is essentially using an unedited snippet of someone s life to create a story. There are no inner monologues or poetic speeches, rather they only showcase a small scale continuous sliver of life. The narration device similarity is cut and dry, however this can not be said for the themes within Postmodernism. In the vaguest of words, Post era literature can be bound within a common ideal of expressing the terrible and disappointing aspects of life. One of the most commonly attacked aspects of life is the sense of love. In most forms of art and media love is portrayed as a glorious thing so long as it is true. Love can conquer any mountain and defeat any foe, however Postmodernism portrays love in a very different manner. In The Swan as a Metaphor for Love love is compared to a swan. On the surface swans are seen as majestic creatures, similar to how love is seen as a beautiful emotion, but underneath the water swans are revolting creatures covered in swan shit and pond scum . The negative views the public has of video games has increased the connotation that violent video games act as murder simulators, or that games are gateways for young children to learn to kill. Linking this medium to deadly assaults, and criminalizing the youth (Markey, Markey, French, 2015). It is the reason why a lot of shopping malls air Christmas songs ahead of the Yuletide season. However, a psychologist warned that hearing too much of the year end holiday melodies could be bad for mental health. Linda Blair, a clinical psychologist, explained that listening to too many carols makes people feel trapped. It is a constant reminder to purchase gifts, cook holiday meals, and organize Christmas parties, the Daily Mail reported. Kaching of Christmas But for those in the retail business, it is the time when the cash register keeps on ringing which is why department store and shopping mall operators start airing Christmas songs weeks ahead of December 25. As a result of the constant exposure to carols ahead of the year end holiday, 61 percent of people suffer from stress during the Yuletide, the American Psychiatric Association said. Because music bypasses rationality, it goes straight to people s emotions, Blair pointed out. It involves several brain areas that induce emotions and involve reflexes, conditioning, visual imagery, expectancy, memory, and emotional contagion. If played too loudly, Christmas music would likely irritate people. For shoppers, it would use the energy of mall goers trying not to hear the carols, Blair said. Retail workers need to tune out the Christmas music, she said; otherwise, it will stop them from being able to focus on anything else. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The world s major powers, Britain, the Soviet Union and America have all been to war in Afghanistan and failed to successfully conquer it. The Saur Revolution and following Nuristan Uprisings caused the Soviet Union to send military aid to Afghanistan, however when the aid was not enough to keep Soviet interests in Afghanistan, it launched its invasion. The Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan in 1979, expecting a small, decisive victory against what seemed a rebellion compromised of mainly farmers and local tribesmen, the Mujahedeen. He created roads and infrastructure to increase ties with Pakistan and increase trade within his country and introduced land taxes for landowners. From a western perspective would be steps in the right direction, however due the deep Islamist nature of Afghanistan, tribal elders and conservatives decided to revolt and Daoud s government was not a popular one. Daoud worked on creating stronger ties with the Soviet Union, and thus it helped bolster the Communist Party (PDPA Peoples Democratic Party of Afghanistan) in Afghanistan and it provided Afghanistan with a source of economic aid, military and international support. The PDPA supported Daoud s government up until 1978, when he tried to build relationships with the West. This prompted the Soviet Union to question Daoud s alliances and on the 17th of April 1978 the Communist party founder was murdered, which sparked the Saur Revolution. A week later Daoud and his family were murdered in their house and Hafizullah Amin was pronounced president. Amin instantly announced his new government and his aims to modernise Afghanistan, and he started this by persecuting conservatives, tribal leaders, professionals and anyone who might oppose his regime3. • 20. Anatomy And Physiology That Affect Snakes Snakes tend to differ significantly from other terrestrial vertebrates due to their lack of any appendages. Although such a characteristic would appear to be of a significant disadvantage on land, snakes have managed to secure themselves a variety of niches and adaptations. The elongated body gave many snakes the ability to strangle their prey and easily inhabit aquatic and nonaquatic environments alike. Some snakes have also been able to climb trees and managed to out speed or compete with animals with limbs. The specific locomotion of snakes can thus be a potentially important indicator of ecological differences between species [7]. Understanding the ways that snakes move helps us understand the types of factors responsible for their form, while giving insight into inventing machines and instruments that can use this motion for everyday use. This paper will look at the specifics and varieties of snake locomotion, while touching on some of the factors like anatomy and physiology that affect snakes survival. Understanding the origins of snakes and their iconic locomotion have been previously poorly understood [1]. Accurate conclusions about the development of the snakes elongated, legless shape [were] hindered by the relative lack of informative fossils of early stem snakes [1]. Despite this, questions concerning the origin of their anatomy are usually narrowed down to two different environmental influences: either 1) aquatic life or 2) fossorial life. Both ... Factors On The Effect Of Elevation Effects On Plant Growth Elevations Effects on Plant Growth James Walters, 8/25/2017, Biology 132 01, Alan Liang Jillian Beard Introduction Plants rely on the environment in which they live to grow, and different environmental conditions provide a wide array of different foliage. Many studies have concluded that altitude effects the heights of a variety of different species (1). In a study comparing beech tree growth, factors such as light and nutrient availability were shown to increase as tree height increased. Along with these findings, it was found that growth rate declined as altitude increased (2). Another study observing elevations effect on Malosma Laurinais showed that increased altitudes were correlated with stronger and healthier leaves for the plants (3). Plants primarily rely on water, and sunlight to grow, but other factors play a role in development as well. Elevation can have a drastic impact on the speciation and growth of different plant species for many reasons. Surface level determines soil moisture content, wind speed, and the amount of sunlight that a plot of vegetation will receive. Common knowledge of how plants grow, suggest that the high soil moisture content at low elevations will increase plant height due to the excess of resources being provided. Plants in the campus lodge area in Brocton, NY have a vast variety of different growing conditions and climates. We decided to examine if different soil elevations had an impact on the growth of plants in this area. Foliage ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Jewish quot;wisdom quot; prophets lectured, warned and blamed all who would listen about the sins of their own people, the resulting punishments that God had prescribed for them, and what they had to do to get back into God s good graces. Sensitivity relating to the perceived expiration of the first Mosaic covenant has brought forth a minor controversy in recent decades about the political correctness of referring to the Old Testament as being quot;old. quot; Some Catholic Scripture professors express a preference for quot;Hebrew Scriptures, quot; while others apologetically retain the old reference to prevent confusion. Some Jews waited for a David like king to rescue them. Others felt that Jesus Christ who had suffered for the sins of his people, the one who had endured and conquered death was the true messiah. According to the American Psychology Association hypnosis is a therapeutic technique in which clinicians make suggestions to individuals who have undergone a procedure designed to relax them and focus their minds (American Psychology Association, 2016). Hypnosis is called hypnotherapy and hypnotic suggestion. James Braid, a 19th century Scottish surgeon originated those terms based on the word hypnos, which is Greek for to sleep (Harris, 2016). • 34. Social Expectations In To Kill A Mockingbird A society will often dictate what is expected of citizens through the unspoken social expectations of the community. These expectations set by society often lead to inequalities, in terms of power and inclusion, which can be seen through Maycomb s court system and Atticus s statements of Maycomb s social expectations. In the novel To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee, the conflict between social expectations and inclusion in society stems from the racism and sexism found in the community of Maycomb. This demonstrates that to achieve equality in a community, social expectations that are set by the public cannot limit or restrain a specific set of people in terms of power or inclusion in society. In Maycomb s society, the social expectation of white men having more power than black men illustrates the inequality the community faced when racism is added to social expectations. While Atticus is talking to Jem about how the court system works, he states, In our courts, when it s a white man s word against a black man s, the white man always wins (Lee 223). Atticus s statement reveals that social expectations are related to racism because it causes an inequality in power between black and white civilians. Based on the color of one s skin, it would determine the amount of power they would have in society. After all of this has been done, a physical therapist uses clinical reasoning to determine what is wrong with the patient and what should be done to help the patient improve. He uses the gathered information to develop an individualized care plan for each patient, indicating the patient s short and long term goals and expected outcomes as a result of the therapy sessions (U.S. Bureau, 2015). Once the plan has been established, the therapist works with his patient using stretches, exercises, and hands on therapy to help alleviate pain, increase mobility, and prevent further injury. The therapist evaluates and tracks the patient s progress and modifies the plan by trying new treatments when needed. A physical therapist must be able to communicate well with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals and must be able to show integrity and compassion for his patients. Another important aspect of a physical therapist s job is to teach his patients appropriate ways to perform certain tasks so that further injury does not occur, promoting future health and wellness (U.S. Bureau, 2015). • 38. Examples Of Character Changes In Remember The Titans Describe how a character changes in the film Remember the Titans Explain why this change occurs. In the film Remember the titans which was directed by Boaz Yakin. I thought that Julius had changed the most during the film and these changes occurred in these three points. One point is how Julius was a very strong an opinionated person. The second point is Julius and Gerry finally confronted each other about getting along and the last point is how coach Boone pushed Julius and Gerry to share the captaincy roles to work hard together for the team to follow in example. Julius was a very opinionated person, who was all about himself and not looking after his own team or anyone else for that matter. For example when Julius was confronted by Gerry, during this conversation Julius said I m supposed to wear out myself for this team? What team? Nope that s not what I m going to do is I m going to look after myself. When this confrontation was happening there were many close up camera shots, this was because the director wanted to show the emotion and anger in the faces of Gerry and Julius. This shows that Julius is a very opinionated person and he only cares about himself, this is shown in what he told Julius. Julius and Gerry confronted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 39. Persuasive Essay On Owning A Car WELL BEING Leasing a car is one way to finance a new automobile. When you lease a car, your payments are determined by the portion of the life of the car that you actually use: the depreciation of the car over the period of time that you are leasing. Therefore, with a lease, you can drive a more expensive car with lower payments, sometimes. However, a key point to remember is that you do not own the car when you lease. Leasing is like renting. You rent the car for a certain period of time, but you are also responsible for a down payment and some taxes and fees very similar to a security deposit on an apartment. At the end of the lease contract (or rental agreement), you give the vehicle back and you may be charged for any excessive wear on the vehicle. Your initial money down will not be applied to these charges. These will be additional charges due at the time you return the car. Furthermore, you are limited to driving the number of miles specified in your contract. If you exceed the total mileage allowed in the lease, you will pay additional fees per mile that you went beyond the limit. This can become expensive! Some lease contracts may also include a turn in fee. A closedend lease will allow you the option of purchasing the car at the end of the lease. If you choose to purchase the car, you will have a credit applied to the payments you have made previously, but you will still have to negotiate the purchase price. If you do not have a closed end lease, you will need ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As per a study conducted in 2009, obese people who consumed 15 ml to 30 ml of acetic acid (apple cider vinegar) diluted with water for about 12 weeks, experienced a significant decrease in weight gain, abdominal fat, waist circumference and triglycerides. Another reason apple cider vinegar helps in maintain weight is its ability to reduce appetite, which again is because of the presence of acetic acid in it. Improves digestion Apple cider vinegar is useful for people suffering from digestive problem and stomach issues like reflux, bloating and indigestion. This benefit of apple cider vinegar is because of the presence of pectin in it. Pectin creates fibrous materials which breaks up diarrhea and also coats the lining of colon which prevents intestinal spans. To achieve this benefit, it is advisable to take one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar before each meal. Boosts Energy Apple cider vinegar is rich in potassium and enzymes. • 41. Glomerulonephritis Essay Glomerulonephritis (GN), or the inflammation of glomeruli, is a leading cause of renal failure worldwide. Inflammation is characterized by vascular fragility, infiltration of leukocytes, and edema. Glomerular disease may manifest by three major syndromes: nephritic syndrome, nephrotic syndrome, and rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis (RPGN). Nephritic syndrome consists of sudden onset of hematuria, non nephrotic range proteinuria (1.5 g/24 h), active sediment with red blood cell (RBC) casts or dysmorphic RBCs, acute renal failure, and hypertension. Nephrotic syndrome is characterized by heavy proteinuria ( 3.5 g/24 h), edema, hypoalbuminemia, and hyperlipidemia. RPGN is characterized by active sediment (RBC casts and dysmorphic RBCs) and rapid development of acute renal failure usually over a period of weeks to months. Glomerulonephritis accounts for the majority of progressive renal disease in many parts of the world. ETIOLOGY Glomerulonephritis has diverse etiologies related to disorders of the immune system, including abnormal immunoglobulin and complement regulation. Glomerulonephritis is caused by immune processes that lead to deposition of antibodies and complement within the glomerulus. • 42. Thyroid Carcinomas Introduction Thyroid cancer (TC) is the most common endocrine malignancy accounting for 1 % of cancers worldwide, and its incidence is rising faster than many other cancers, with the highest overall rate of increase in cancer deaths. The annual incidence varies considerably by geographic area, age and sex. The increase is attributable to better detection of small carcinomas as a result of improved diagnostic accuracy. However, the number of patients who die due to this disease also increases [1]. TC is a heterogeneous disease that is classified into differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC) (95 %), undifferentiated (anaplastic) thyroid carcinoma (ATC) and medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC). Clinical trials with various combinations of doxorubicin, bleomycin and a platinum based agent have yielded unsatisfactory results, with response rates of 14 % [5]. Similarly disappointing, the adverse events (AEs) profile of these drugs is dose limiting, with patients experiencing significant neutropenia, nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia and even congestive heart failure [6]. As the results of conventional treatment modalities have been disappointing and therefore, new therapies are needed. RAI resistant TC, metastatic MTC and ATC represent one of the most appealing models for biological therapies. Recent years have been characterized by significant advances in the understanding of the molecular basis of thyroid carcinogenesis. Many tumor initiating genetic events have been already identified in TC. Interestingly, there is a typical morphological and histopathologically disease presentation that consistently correlates with specific molecular pathway deregulation, and some of its features are associated with more aggressive tumor behavior. So, therapeutic agents that target involved biological abnormalities have been identified. Multiple clinical trials have been carried out. In this review, we describe the role of target therapy and some new modalities in TCs. Background on molecular biology Most of PTC are associated with a mutation in one of three genes involved in the signaling of the mitogen activated protein (MAP) kinase pathway RAS, BRAF or RET/PTC ... • 43. Viruses, Antibiotics, And Antibiotics Essay Diseases are humans enemies. There are million kinds of diseases among the world. Some of them were created by ever changing human activities; some of them cause infections by microorganisms, such as viruses, bacteria, fungi and parasites. Those tiny things are truly annoying to us when we suffer sickness. They could even be fatal to us. If we want to cure ourselves effectively we will have to kill them and inhibit their growth using the drugs called antibiotics . Antibiotics are great against these infections, but they are not perfect. Pathogenic bacteria gradually evolve to survive in different environments just like the ways all creatures do. Though we can kill most of them after using antibiotics. A little group of them still live and become resistant to the antibiotics aimed at killing them. They multiply their population and create stronger bacteria in order to keep on infecting us. The bacteria s ability of fighting with antibiotics is named as antibiotic resistance . Antibiotic resistance does not evolve frequently. However, due to the rapid social development, more and more bizarre diseases are appearing around us. The diversity in the standards and perceptions of living has brought us bunch of consequences, including the illogical treatments toward illness and pharmaceutical production. Many people don t know how to use drugs correctly or refuse to do so; some industry owners know how to properly manage their production lines but refuse to do that. Human s ... • 45. The Main Problems With The Constitution Felix Amza Professor Omowale POS1041 Due 06/23/2015 Project Question Nr. III One of the main problems with the constitution is what some may argue that the role of the president was not very thought of and linked to the constitution, therefore jeopardizing the nation to a dysfunctional and dangerous presidency. Throughout the history of American government, there have been a couple presidencies which have managed to gain high power and disregard the wellbeing of the nation, behave inappropriately and even unconstitutional. A good example of what some argue to have been a bad presidency, would be the case of George W. Bush, which on different occasions, he thought it would be suitable to disapprove of democracy and legal norms, by acting in ways such as; ordering government representatives to bypass statues and treaties, not allowing congressional oversight and jump into unwanted actions such as starting the war with Iraq which was not favored in the Congress. Normally the constitutions contains systems in place that should be able to counterattack such actions and behaviors, like the famous division of power and checks and balances . As the government of America is divided into three powers; the executory, judiciary and legislative, the system of checks and balances gives the three divisions of government the power of checking upon each other and ability of taking action when there is an unconstitutional act from one s side. The system of checks and balances may ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are many industrial operations that cause contamination in ground water, due to the large quantities of chemicals used. Chlorinated hydrocarbons, which are used in cleaning products and solutions containing chromium, which are used in metal plating, lead to the groundwater contamination. These industrial wastes are dumped in storage tanks and they leak, thus causing contamination. There is greater awareness of the issues and hazards of the dumping of chemical waste and there are laws restricting the dumping of this waste. Since many individuals rely on groundwater for drinking water, many of them are drinking contaminated water. Due to this, there are many health risks including, hepatitis, poisoning and cancer when exposed to polluted water. As well, the wildlife can be harmed from the contaminated ground water. A good disposal method of ground waste consists of a chemical treatment that is able to convert the hazardous waste into environmentally safe materials. The fixed but adjustable exchange rate system ended in August 1971 when President Nixon closed the gold window, ending the U.S. commitment to keep the dollar price of gold at $35 per ounce. In 1973 the month of March, major countries agreed that the fixed exchange rate system would not be restored. Thereafter, currency values would be determined in various ways ranging from freely floating exchange rates at one end to firmly fixed exchange rates at the other. By then, many countries had removed exchange controls on both trade and capital movements. The international economy faced a new challenge; they had to reconcile growth, low inflation and high employment with open trading arrangements and international capital mobility. The oil shocks of the 1970s and the mistaken economic policies in many countries that produced large deficits and inflation increased the difficulty of achieving these goals and objectives.
