How Did The Printing Press Contribute To The Reformation
The printing press and its involvement in the reformation
Sometime before 1450 Johann Guttenburg developed the printing press, this invention made the
printing of lengthy texts far easier. In the years following Gutenberg s era to Luther s, printing as an
industry was improving exponentially. The press received mechanical improvements, increasing
efficiency. Printing also became a large industry with large facilities dedicated to printing. The
Reformation would prove good to the printing industry as more and more lengthy material was
written. Gone was the need for manuscripts and the long process of hand written works. Martin Luther
nailed his Ninety Five Theses to the door of the Wittenberg church on October 31, 1517. He wanted to

It was important to Luther and indeed any writer to pick the best publisher for the job. Grunenberg
was used to publish Luther s Seven Penitential Psalms. Grunenberg s placement in Wittenberg
University was very fortuitous for Martin Luther as he was able to monitor and oversee all the work
that Grunenberg was doing for him while he was teaching at Wittenberg. At some point Luther
became unhappy with the work Grunenberg and went on to work with Melchior Lotther who
established a printing shop in the University to work for Luther . Luther and Lotther had a good
working relationship and Luthers publications prospered under Lotthers printing. If Luther was
placing such an emphasis on the relationship and work ethic of his printer, then we could conclude
from this that Martin Luther himself placed a great emphasis on the printing press and recognised it s
importance. Without its invention, the speed and reach of Luther s and indeed other reformer s
writings would have been stunted. The press allowed Luther to try new things when it came to
publishing such as publishing the first part of a book to see how much interest there was for it before
releasing the rest. This could be used to reduce the chance of a financial disaster and could possibly be
the first time such a thing was

American Identity In The Scarlet Letter By Nathaniel...
The quintessential struggle for identity inundated the American people after the Revolutionary War;
the country was faced with the struggle of not only establishing a new government but also with the
feat of defining America as a new country. Many literary works and writings were crucial in
facilitating the infant nation s journey in separating from the English culture in order to create this
unique American identity. This process of creating an American identity was not realized with either
ease or haste, and the concept of American identity altered and grew concurrently with the nation.
Literary figures portray different understandings of American identity, each perspective echoing the
national reality at of the epoch or expressing a visionary idea of American identity. Nathaniel
Hawthorne and Washington Irving, both from around the early nineteenth century, demonstrate the
diversity that exists in the concept of the American identity, though this identity is based in a similar
truth. Neither Hawthorne nor Irving are wholly able to separate the concept of American identity from
the country s history and past, as although America is a new county, its origin lies in its Puritan and
English heritage; however, in his story Rip Van Winkle Irving only focuses on the muddled reality of a
shaky and underdeveloped American identity whereas in The Scarlet Letter, Hawthorne portrays an
unique American identity that has begun to grow from the past while still being inseparable from

Essay on Nutrition Therapy for Cardiovascular Disease
Nutrition Therapy for Cardiovascular Disease
It is imperative as a nurse to develop an understanding that caring for a patient goes beyond the
physical care given and it includes a holistic aspect: caring for the body, mind and soul. This holistic
approach can be applied when assessing patients nutritional status and helping them implement
healthy life choices, while living with a disease and possibly the comorbidities caused by the disease.
Specifically, cardiovascular disease (CVD) and the comorbidities associated can be highly preventable
with adequate nutrition, regular exercise and management of a healthy weight throughout life. It is the
care provider s duty to educate patients on prevention and risk reduction for CVD, and to work ...

Diets rich in fruits and vegetables are recommended as part of a healthy diet because they may reduce
the risks of chronic diseases with the help of potassium, folate, vitamins, and fiber that are within
fruits and vegetables. These sources are found in foods such as nuts, soy products, fatty fish because
of the omega 3 fatty acids, garlic, bananas, kiwifruit, avocados, beef, and lamb. Studies have found
that people who have a high intake of fruits and vegetables are at lower risk of developing CVD,
especially stroke (Dudek, 2010, p. 496). Whole grains should also be incorporated in meals daily
because the soluble fibers like those found in barley, dried peas and beans, flax seed, fruits and oats,
are known to lower LDL levels, which is one of the main causes for comorbidities that can progress to
CVD. Patients at risk of developing CVD are to avoid foods high in saturated and trans fat because
both, increase the LDL and total cholesterol levels, the ratio of LDL to HDL cholesterol, and the risk
of CHD (Dudek, 2010, p. 497). Suggestions for avoiding these fats include choosing lean meats,
trimming away any visible fat, and replacing red meats for skinless chicken or fish. Added sugar and
sodium also should be avoided because beverages and foods high in sugar tend to provide calories
with few nutrients. Increase of sodium intake can cause hypertension which is directly related to
developing CVD.

Kodaly
Chapter Three
Evidence of the Positive Effects of the Kodaly Method on American Music Education Numerous
studies have provided evidence of the positive effects the Kodaly Method has on many aspects of the
child as a whole person. Literacy is a very important part of the education of a child. Gromko (2005)
tested the hypothesis that music instruction that emphasizes the development of aural perception
would lead to significant gains in the development of young children s phonemic awareness,
particularly in their phoneme segmentation fluency (the ability to break words down Into Individual
sounds). Phonemic awareness is one aspect of phonological awareness, a reliable predictor of later
reading ability. Results revealed that kindergarten ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Musical involvement allows students to think about math in a different way. In the regular classroom,
math is often just math. Often times, children cannot see the use for math, especially if it is a subject
that they struggle to understand. In music class, however, math has a very distinct purpose. It helps
make music. Without math there would be no steady beat. Music gives math a purpose and helps
students understand skills using cross curricular approach. The information found as a result of these
tests is also significant because it proves the importance of music education in the overall education of
a child. Kodaly believed that music education should exist at the core of curriculum. He believed that
music is essential to make any education complete. Music should not be thought of as a frill to the
education system or a special activity or even a privilege. Music education is as important as any other
subject that is recognized as a core subject and should be respected as such in the education of

Defendant SARAH MINER (hereinafter Ms. Miner, ) owner, and operator of the Portola complex,
recently denied Plaintiff DARLAWILLIAMS (hereinafter Plaintiff, ) a former tenant, application to
continue leasing at the complex. As such, Plaintiff brought several suits (Exhibit 1) against Ms. Miner,
alleging discrimination as the basis for her denial. The Plaintiff s case against Ms. Miner, however, is
without merits. Plaintiff received several noise complaints (Exhibit 2) throughout her tenancy,
disrupting the peaceful residential community. Moreover, Plaintiff failed to keep her unit in good
condition, resulting in considerable damage to the unit and property.
Although Plaintiff claims Ms. Miner provided bad references to prospective landlords, Ms. Miner has
done nothing of the sort. In fact, policy mandates providing copies of incidental reports, repair notices
and notices of delinquency (unpaid rent) by the tenant; Ms. Miner was simply acting in compliance.
Accordingly, Ms. Miner did not discriminate against the Plaintiff in denying her leasing application,

Humans Were Affected By Island Dwarfism ( Morwood )
Many people, before the discovery of Homo floresiensis, assumed Homo sapiens were the only living
species of the genus homo since Homo erectus. The 2003 discovery of the hobbit in a limestone cave
in Flores, Indonesia changed the way people today view much of the timeline of early human
evolution. The island of Flores was assumed to have never been connected to any mainland, bringing
to question how this species arrived on the island in the first place as well as what the island looked
like at the time. There were several physical characteristics such as leg length and brain size that made
the discovery of Homo floresiensis so special. The bones found were dated to 18,000 years ago,
astoundingly recently (Brown). To this day, it is unclear how this species evolved to be so small.
Scientists had developed several different theories but have frequently come to the conclusion that
these humans were affected by island dwarfism (Morwood). The environment in which Homo
floresiensis lived, their physical structure and the recency of their existence holds many mysteries
around why they were so small and what impact the above factors had on the hobbit s overall size. The
discovery of Homo floresiensis occurred of the coast of Indonesia on one of the Wallecean Islands
called Flores. The dig site which Homo floresiensis was discovered is called Liang Bua or cool cave .
Father Theodore Verhoeven was the first to report and publish that stone tools were found in central

A Leader Is An Action Leading A Group Or Organization
What is leadership? It is defined as being an action leading a group or organization. It involves being
able to take control of certain situations, and leading in the correct direction. Being a leader takes great
knowledge and skill. It involves one being able to make smart decisions in order for his/her
congregation to come out as successful. A leader must also know, that it is wise to have people in
his/her corner to advise them of good or bad decisions. President Barack Obama has his Vice
President, Joe Biden, along with his elite White House staff, including the Secretary of State, to help
with major decisions that could affect the nation. Pastors have deacons who help them lead their
congregation, or church, in the right path of reaching others, who are seeking for help and prayer in
time of need. A leader must know that it is wise to have the correct people in his/her corner to keep
them on track, in order to not falter. If failing becomes even possible for a leader, it can cause a
catastrophic outcome for his/her followers. In Shakespeare s play Richard II, we learn of a great king
who chooses not to listen to the wise people in his corner, and see the outcome of his choices. In
Richard II, we see the slow downfall of King Richard s reign over England. One of the first incidents
that went against the king, was the banishment of Bolingbroke and Mobray. Before their banishment,
there were issues between both men. Bolingbroke

Why Use Bloom Taxonomy In Lesson Planning
Bloom Taxonomy in Lesson Planning
Introduction
Bloom Taxonomy is a useful planning tool for teachers. It contains of six cognitive domains, which
are known from the year of 1956 as knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, and
evaluation. However, the bloom taxonomy was later revised in 2001 to remember, understand, apply,
analyze, evaluate, and create (Ugur, Constantinescu, Stevens, 2015). Using Bloom Taxonomy in
lesson planning will help teachers to develop lesson objectives based on students level of proficiency.
Why Use Bloom Taxonomy in Lesson Planning? Bloom Taxonomy was established to meet the needs
of students based on the learning outcome expectation or curriculum aims. It has been said, Bloom
taxonomy helps teachers to formulate lessons that practice and develop thinking skills over a wide
range of cognitive complexity (Hess, Jones, Carlock, Walkup, 2009, p. 1). The six cognitive domains
of bloom taxonomy helps teacher to develop lesson objectives, because it explains the process of
learning. According to Shabatura (2013), Before you can understand a concept, you must remember it.
To apply a concept you must first understand it. In order to evaluate a process, you must analyze it. To
create a conclusion, you must ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Without Bloom taxonomy in lesson planning, the teacher will only rely on one domain rather it is
remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating, or creating. If that happens, students
will never expand their level of thinking skills throughout their entire school life. So, it is important to
utilize bloom taxonomy in lesson planning. However, Bloom taxonomy can also raise the teacher s
expectation of students based on their level of proficiency. This is where teachers began to use more
advance questions to assess students understanding of a

Essay about Descartes discourse on method
Understanding Descartes Method of Doubt
Clear your mind, if you will, of everything you have ever seen or known to be true. To begin
understanding Rene Descartes method of doubt, you need to suspend all prejudice and prior judgments
and start with a clean slate for the purpose of discovering some ultimate truth on which to base all
thought. (Kolak, Pg.225). Discouraged with much skepticism from his own beliefs, Descartes was
embarrassed of his own ignorance. He set out to try and accomplish the task of finding an absolute
truth in which he would base his beliefs. Placing upon himself a task to find an axiom or absolute truth
to base all thought, he ventured as a youth in travel to collect a variety in experiences to derive some

(Descartes, Pg.19). On the other end of the spectrum, apriori knowledge ,which is an understanding
based on reasoning, is a more efficient way of explaining the method of doubt presented by Descartes.
Method of Doubt Step One
On the journey to find truth to base all thought upon, Descartes explains his first step in doing so.
Never accept anything for true which I did not clearly know to be such; that is to say, carefully to
avoid precipitancy and prejudice, and to comprise nothing more in my judgment than what was
presented to my mind so clearly and distinctly as to exclude all ground of doubt. (Kolak, Pg.228).
Assuming that everything you see is fictitious, Descartes believed he had no senses at all; body, shape,
extension, motion, and place are unreal. (Weissman, Pg.23). Our senses have failed us all at one point
or another in our lives, so why use the senses as a base for thought? The most famous quote and
philosophy by Descartes in history ever, Je pense, donc je suis, cogito ergo sum (Durant, Pg.639). I
think, therefore I am was the first step towards a basis to understand truth, and leaning away from
truth through the senses.
Method of Doubt Step Two
The second argument that Descartes defends is another question posed towards the senses. How can
we take anything as real if our dreams cannot be

The Nature Of Mt Wellington
I am honored to have opportunity to address my opinion about the nature of Mt Wellington after
delving the affairs from your letter. Before making any judgements, some problems are being worth
paying closs attention to here, such as profitability of Mt Wellington, transfer of ownership. Enclosed
with this letter is a detailed explaination in which you may find the constructive comments.
Relating to core issue, there are two scenarios need to be classified, which will result different
conclusions:
In the first place, the present situation is some areas in Mt Wellington are privately owned by the
Hobart and Glenorchy city councils, although the State Government has already introduced new laws
during in the earlier period this year that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Similarly, we could use the same standard to measure the other part in Mt Wellington. The rest area
that no one has way to claim could not be addressed as asset. The reason is there is no entity to
manage that area. According to the Australian Accounting Standard Board AASB138, it falsifies one
of the essential characteristic of being asset, asset must be control by the entity . Hence, this area could
not be accounted as asset. When we make an intensive study of this unowned area, it should be put
into a category of natural resource since it is out of management. According to Comstock (2016), a
natural resource is something that is not made by humans but is necessary or useful in their lives . To
some extent, the landscape, water resource and wild forest in this area have enriched the biodiversity
and are helpful to the local environment construction. As local communities said, any activity within
Wellington Park has the potential to have an impact upon natural and cultural values, and the Council
s assets, within the reserve . In fact, no one has the right to possess himself/herself of the unclaimed
area.
At the moment, the whole Mt Wellington could not treated as an asset, even the current status is in
good condition. However, there is another possibility that State Government or Commonweal would
make Mt Wellington nationalized regardless of the approval and support from the Hobart and
Glenorchy city councils. There is evidence that this

Spider silk
What is spider silk?
Spider silk is a protein fibre spun by spiders themselves. Spider silk is used by spiders to help them
with daily activities such as catching prey, creating nests and/or cocoons, or to wrap up prey. Spiders
also use the silk to suspend themselves in midair, which help them escape from potential predators.
The stickiness and thickness of the silk is mainly dependent on the type of spiders creating it, and the
type of silk being created in some cases is different for different uses. Spider silk, in rare cases are
eaten by spiders as a source of energy/food.

Goats are chosen to produce the silk instead of spiders because first off, the glands which produce silk
in the spiders and the glands that produce the milk in goats are extremely similar. Secondly, spiders
aren t used because if spiders are very territorial and will kill each other for dominion over others. If
we were to create a spider farm the spiders will kill each other off. Goats on the other hand aren t
territorial so lots of production can be done.
Reliability of bulletproof skin
How successful is the bulletproof skin at this point in time?
Bulletproof skin was grown within the laboratory and immediately put to the test to test its reliability.
A bullet was fired at the bulletproof skin just below full speed and the bulletproof skin was able to
successfully cushion the bullet that was fired. The bulletproof skin has boundaries at this point in time
though because it was unable to cushion the bullet when it was fired at 329 m/s; the bullet travelled
straight through the material.

It is identified the proximity of universities and supporting services are two of such stimulating factors

Walnuts Descriptive Writing
The icy cold air assisted in my throat tightening as we headed towards Christchurch hospital. In the
distance, I could see the fluorescent red sign plastered against the empty black sky it seemed to call

every step I took meaning keeping up with my mum was a mission in itself.
I thought back to earlier in the night it all started when I sunk my teeth into the sickly sweet fudge

A Short Note On Penthrox And Its Effects On The Early...
INTRODUCTION Methoxyflurane or Penthrox is used currently as an inhalational form of analgesia
for mild to moderate pain relief for a short time period. It was previously used as an inhalational
anaesthetic gas but has since been discontinued. Methoxyflurane is currently being used in the pre
hospital and hospital settings by Australia, New Zealand and more recently the UK. It is commonly
called The green whistle in New Zealand and Australia. Methoxyflurane was administered through a
device called the Abbott Analgizer which allowed patients to self administer the Methoxyflurane and
was then transformed into a metered dose inhaler called Penthrox inhaler. I am going to be reviewing
Methoxyflurane and its history, toxicity as a result of the use of methoxyflurane, pharmacological
action, advantages and disadvantages of use in the pre hospital environment as well as the indications,
contra indications and adverse effects. At the end of this review I will be writing a conclusion from all
the information I have received and reviewed. HISTORY Methoxyflurane was previously known as
Penthrane, a halogenated ether when it was produced by Abbott laboratories. It was discovered in the
late 1940 s by William T. Miller who was a professor of organic chemistry at the Cornell University in
New York and was involved in the Manhattan Project. The Manhattan project was a research project
that produced nuclear bombs in World War 2. In 1960 Methoxyflurane was introduced as Penthrane, a

How The Character And Quality Of Open Space Differ Across...
How does the character and quality of open space vary in different parts of London, and what are the
factors affecting this? London, an area of 1,572 square kilometers, is home to 8.7 million people.
According to Greenspace Information for Greater London (GiGL), up to 39% of Greater London can
be classified as green open space 14.2m2 per resident, of which nearly half (17.88% of total space) is
classified as being parks or woodland. In this essay I will be discussing how the character and quantity
of these open spaces differ across two areas, Tower Hamlets (TH) and The City, before suggesting key
factors affecting them. First though we must define the question, by explaining the key terms. Open
Space can be interpreted in different ways, however I understand it to refer to green space (parks,
woodlands, gardens) but also the open river and canal space, or the open air in the capital. I interpret
character as the type of open space, the size and location in relation to other land use (commercial,
industrial or residential), and overall feel of the space. Quality is interpreted as the standard of the
space (for example how well maintained, features available and overall air quality). Finally, the
variation across the city refers to how the style and standard of these spaces differ across the
1000mile2 area, comparing similarities, patterns and exceptions across boroughs. One variation in the
character and quality between TH and The City is the

The Steps Listed Describe The Procedures I Will
The steps listed describe the procedures I will use to implement book clubs:
1. Introduction Setting a purpose I will explain to students that our objective in book club for 7th will
be accountability. To illustrate, I will ask students about their literature circle experiences. Unlike
literature circles (which many students participated in during grades 3 5), no roles will be assigned but
everyone is responsible for the reciprocal reading strategies. These strategies will be on an anchor
chart to be displayed throughout the year. Next, I will show the brief YouTube video 8th Grade Book
Club and Accountable Talk and ask students to describe the behaviors observed. The video will
prompt a discussion about book club our upcoming discussions.
2. Pre reading activities
Set ground 3 5 ground rules. This will be a whole class endeavor, not a list developed solely by the
teacher. However, the rules should indicate that the book group is a safe environment (as is the entire
classroom) where everyone has a voice. Rules that alert students to be respectful, responsible and
agree to disagree are common suggestions. Allow students to make the book club ground rules chart to
display. Distribute and discuss the Responsibility and Accountability Rubric.
Teach teamwork and conflict resolution skills. Use notecards to describe scenarios that arise when
working in groups. Have students act out skits that demonstrate problems and possible solutions.

Essay on Semiotics of Personal Objects
Ever since I was a little girl, clothes and shoes have been important to me. I loved picking out my own
outfits for school, and finding just the right color Keds or sandals to match. It truly was a passion.
Even now, many years later, here I am, the same shopaholic and fashion maniac I have always been.
After researching semiotics, which in short, is the method of interpreting signs and finding a deeper
meaning in everyday activities, I realize, that my reasoning for choosing the clothes and shoes that I
chose, is deeper, than just the fact that I looked cute, it was a choice of statements I was making each
and every time. The question is what statements did I make?

Another item I wish to discuss, in semiotic terms are my old, faded, black sweat pants, or as I like to

The Controversy Between Science And Pseudoscience
Climate deniers are accused of practicing pseudoscience, as are intelligent design creationists,
astrologers, UFOlogists, parapsychologists, practitioners of alternative medicine, and often anyone
who strays far from the scientific mainstream. The boundary problem between science and
pseudoscience, in fact, is notoriously fraught with definitional disagreements because the categories
are too broad and fuzzy on the edges, and the term pseudoscience is subject to adjectival abuse against
any claim one happens to dislike for any reason. In his 2010 book Nonsense on Stilts (University of
Chicago Press), philosopher of science Massimo Pigliucci concedes that there is no litmus test,
because the boundaries separating science, nonscience, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

That is, does the revolutionary new idea generate any interest on the part of working scientists for
adoption in their research programs, produce any new lines of research, lead to any new discoveries,

pseudoscience.
We can demarcate science from pseudoscience less by what science is and more by what scientists do.
Science is a set of methods aimed at testing hypotheses and building theories. If a community of
scientists actively adopts a new idea and if that idea then spreads through the field and is incorporated
into research that produces useful knowledge reflected in presentations, publications, and especially
new lines of inquiry and research, chances are it is science.
This demarcation criterion of usefulness has the advantage of being bottom up instead of top down,
egalitarian instead of elitist, nondiscriminatory instead of prejudicial. Let science consumers in the
marketplace of ideas determine what constitutes good science, starting with the scientists themselves
and filtering through the editors, educators and readers. As for potential consumers of pseudo
science,

Similarities Between Ancient Egypt And Ancient Athens
A Comparison of Societies in Ancient Egypt and Periclean Athens
Midterm Essay Maureen Cairns
In comparing and contrasting the societies of Periclean Athens and ancient Egypt, we must first
mention some of the characteristics of an actual society: a society has a stable food supply, social
levels and classes, specialization of labor, a system of government, and a highly developed culture.
Both the societies of ancient Athens and Egypt fit into these parameters. In this essay we will explore
social classes, gender relations, social inequality, and hierarchy as they apply to these societies. Both
ancient Athens and Egypt adhered to a strict hierarchical framework, ranking people as superiors or
inferiors. Old Kingdom Egyptian hierarchy is described as having the king and queen at the top, with
priests, administrators, governors and army commanders coming second, then the commoners who
worked mostly in agriculture, and finally, slaves, who had been captured in war. (Hunt, pg. 22).
According to Esolen, (pg. 35), Egyptian society was structured as such: the Pharaoh came first, and
was believed to be God on earth. Next came the Vizier , who was the pharaohs chief advisor. Nobles
were next in the hierarchy, responsible for making local laws. Priests came next, and were responsible
for performing rituals and ceremonies. Scribes were a very important group, as they were the only
ones who could read or write, so they were the record keepers. A small percentage

Children Of God Through Faith
Beginning in 3:26, the NIV and NRSV translates, for you are all children of God through faith in
Christ Jesus. Here the word children translates in the Greek, téknon which means a child, descendant,
inhabitant. Téknon properly, a child; (figuratively) anyone living in full dependence on the heavenly
Father, i.e. fully (willingly) relying upon the Lord in glad submission. This prompts God to transform
them into His likeness. The NKJV translates, for you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
This word son translates in the Greek, hyiós. It emphasizes likeness of the believer to the heavenly
Father, i.e. resembling His character more and more by living in faith. The choice of the word son may
be in part because during biblical times a son was considered the inheritor of land, property, and
family wealth. Daughters were not typically ones to inherit anything. Further, each of the three
translations uses the word all . The word all in the Greek translates, pas . Pás ( each, every ) means all
in the sense of each (every) part that applies. The emphasis of the total picture then is on one piece at a
time. By all it is not excluding anyone or singling out one group of people (as described in 3:28).

Research Paper On Scarface
Scarface
You wanna f**k with me? Okay. You wanna play rough? Okay. Say hello to my little friend! (Palma,
Bregman, Stone Scarface)
Bellows the infamous drug lord over the sound of his past finally catching up with him. All of Tony
Montana s (Al Pacino) self established business is being tested by the enemies he s making along his
path of crime in Scarface, 1983 . Brian De Palma certainly knows how to make an audience initially
love, which gradually turns into hate, the protagonist of the film. Martin Bregman, came to Palma
with the concept of remaking the 1932 Scarface with the a modern twist, as crime has evolved a lot in
the 50 year this film laid dormant. Bregman wanted the film to focus on the modern day crime bosses,
rather than remake an outdated mindset, which can be seen with scarface s military technology. This
then evolved into the drug filled miami setting, due to production costs.
Scarface, Tony Montana, starts the movie as a political prisoner in Miami Florida, with aspirations to
rise up to the top by any means necessary. Tony and his friend, Manny Ribera (Steven Bauer), are able
to get work at a small food stand as dishwashers. This brings them to meeting the local colombian
mafia, which in turn drags them into the filth that is organized crime. Tony starts off working for
Frank Lopez (Robert Loggia), but quickly develops a desire to have all that he has, including his
mistress, Elvira Hancock (Michelle Pfeiffer). Once on top, Tony grows impatient of waiting for things
to come naturally and produces heinous actions that make him a target by virtually everyone.
The movie takes place in the 1980s during Cuban Crimewave in Miami Florida. Tony Montana is
presented as a killer from Cuba, who gained access to freedom by being released into America by
Castro. Which essentially gave him the potential for a fresh start, the ability to choose his future.
Landing a job as a dishwasher across the street from a popular night club inspires Tony to get back
into the life of crime. After a drug deal gone wrong, and friend dying by chainsaw, Tony decides it s
time to meet the head honcho of the organization he is working for.
Soon after meeting Frank Lopez, Tony quickly decides he wants to have all

The Effect Of Pictorial Condition And Verbal Condition Essay
The effect pictorial condition and verbal condition have on the number of correct responses in a
memory test
Abstract
The aim of the experiment was to test whether pictures or words would lead to an increased
recognition response. The picture superiority effect suggests that pictures are better recognised than
words. This is shown by supporting researchers. Standing et al (1970) found that participants who
studied over 2000 pictures, 90% of those had accurately recognised them after several days. Paivio
had also suggests that pictures are dual coded which explains why pictures are better remembered than
words, which is encoded once in memory. In order to investigate whether pictures or words are best
recognised participants were split into two conditions, pictorial and verbal. In the verbal condition
participants saw words after being presented with pictures for 10 seconds whilst the pictorial condition
saw pictures. This therefore measured the participants correct recognition response in both the
pictorial condition and verbal condition. The participant completed 48 trials in each condition.

encode information from the brain. Memory has a large capacity that allows us to learn, build new
experiences and form new relationships. (Mastin, L. 2016)

The Church Went Through A Period Of Cruel Persecution
INTRODUCTION
The Church went through a period of cruel persecution under various Roman Empire emperors prior
to the 4th century. The church also had to go through the issue with heretics inside the church. During
this crucial period in church history, one of the important theological and ecclesiastical question
concerned Christology. Christology deals with the life of Jesus Christ. One bishop, Arius, taught that
Jesus was not God the Son. God providentially sent a man, St. Athanasius, to defend the Lord s
church. St. Athanasius, bishop of Alexandria, became an important figure in church history. The
cconflict with Arius and the successive Roman emperors shaped Athanasius s ministry career. Why is
Athanasius important for the life ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His work affects issues in the church today. For example, The Jehovah s Witnesses, in their rejection
of the deity of Christ and the doctrine of the Trinity, not only follow in the footsteps of Arius, but hold
him up as one of the great defenders of the true faith .
Alexandria was a leading commercial and cultural center in the Mediterranean world, second only to
Rome itself . ...Alexandria became a great Christian learning center, the home of the great catechetical
school of Christian instruction... this is the place where Athanasius would get his education. More
importantly, The background to the conflict lay in the church of Alexandria .
St. Athanasius was born around the year AD 297 to a Christian family in the city of Alexandria. His
parents were wealthy enough to afford giving him a fine secular education. At the young age of 10
years old, in A.D. 306, there was a baptism ritual with other children. Playing the part of a church
official, he baptized one of the children during this sacrament of baptism. He impressed the bishop of
Alexandria, Alexander, which he became one of his disciples.
He writes his treaties to Macarius, true lover of Christ. In 318 Athanasius wrote his most famous
work, De Incarnatione Verbi (On the Incarnation of the Word ), which shows the influence of Irenaeus
and Origen; the incarnate Logos was divine and restored

Affection blossoms day by day for most relationships, but not all. While some people remain joyful

began to grow that turned into complete hatred. As a result of the disputes, it identified how the
creators are similar, how the creation of the creatures are comparable, and how the relationships
between the creator and the creature in each story are related.

the goodness inside him never went away when it comes to Dr. Frankenstein. On the other hand, the
creator said that they are no longer acquaintances, but rather rivals. The same scenario can be said for
Prospero and Caliban. Caliban reacted to Prospero s evil doings by using his knowledge against him.
Caliban s maleficent tone claimed, Which first was mine own king, and here you sty me... You taught

Wal Mart And Sainsbury Target Mass Social Target Audience
The following report takes into account the selection of two integral companies with global
operations, Wal Mart and Sainsbury. These two companies are critically assessed in link to their
individual brand positioning strategies. Some strategies overlap each other whereas some are different,
so both are discussed in context. The brand positioning strategy has taken into account the individual
companies marketing objectives, sales pitches, expansive strategies and service competition that are
provided nationally and internationally. Wal Mart has its extensive operations, hence has a more
generic service oriented approach where products are sold and retailed in an intelligent global manner.
In this context, its international website layout, online presence and promotional campaigns are
discussed that hopes to target mass social target audience. On the other hand, Sainsbury deals in the
same business of retail and online shopping, but since its operations are more suited and favorable in
the United Kingdom, that is why its operations are limited compared to Wal Mart. Sainsbury deals
with niche market segment, which is limited by some geographic and demographic segmentation.
Sainsbury s promotional and marketing campaigns are also less generic, and keep intact its present

Smallpox And The Epidemic Of Smallpox
During the 19th and 20th centuries, a now eradicated disease called smallpox killed an estimated 300
500 million people. This life threatening disease is marked by a rash of blisters filled with a thick,
opaque fluid that cover the face, arms and legs (see Figure 1). Many of those who managed to survive
smallpox were left with permanent complications such as scars, blindness, and in some instances, limb
deformities. Occurrences of smallpox are believed to go as far back as 10,000 BC. One of the earliest
examples of the disease is the pustular rash found on the mummified body of Pharaoh Ramses V of
Egypt who died in 1157 BC.
For a millennia, generations watched helplessly as their children fell prey to the devastating disease.
But after rigorous vaccination campaigns in the 1960 s, the World Health Organization had confirmed
the eradication of smallpox in 1979 with the last naturally occurring case being reported in 1977. In
order to ensure another epidemic on the same scale smallpox doesn t plague the human population,
vaccinations against infectious diseases such as polio, diphtheria and rubella should be enforced
without exclusions.
The key to combating these virulent diseases is to create an immunization in the general public
through the use of vaccines. In an effort to build a person s immunity towards a particular disease,
vaccines that contain weakened or dead microbes are administered using a hypodermic syringe. By

makes the decision to try and land the plane in a lake as it runs out of fuel. Eventually the plane begins
to go down, and he barely makes it to the lake which, in time, will become his camp. Suffering only
minor injuries from the crash , Brian makes it to shore. The first few days he was relying heavily on
the hope that he would be rescued within a few days. As time went on, his hopes of being found
anytime soon slowly diminished. At first, he struggled to find food and make a shelter. Things came
slow for him, but he was always learning something new. As time goes on, his mindset changes, and
he learns how to hunt fish, find good firewood, and make fires. He creates a spear for jabbing fish, a
bow to hunt with, and a wall of sticks and logs intertwined for walls of a shelter. With his camp
looking well, he goes into a daily routine of getting firewood in the mornings, picking berries, and
catching fish to eat for his outrageous hunger. Once, while bringing back firewood from a

Ray Bradbury s A Sound Of Thunder
Time Travel in Ray Bradbury s A Sound of Thunder Although the story A Sound of Thunder is a good
one, it can be very hard to actually believe it because of the way they time travel back to the past .The
claim that Ray Bradbury s A Sound of Thunder portrays the realistic aspects of his story believably is
incorrect because in Source B, Einstein showed the speed of light is infinite meaning you could never
go back in time, and Source A, when the author talks about how impacting the past might not even
have an affect on the future. The first source uses Einstein s theory of the speed of light to justify the
claim. In Source B, it says Einstein also showed that traveling at or faster than the speed of light is
impossible because mass at these speeds becomes infinite. Einstein says that in order to go back in
time, one must go faster than the speed of light. In this quotation, Einstein also says that to go faster
than the speed of light is infinite, so traveling back in time becomes impossible. This goes against the
claim that Bradbury s story is believable, because if time travel to the fast is impossible, how could his
characters even go back in time to kill the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the story, Bradbury s characters talk about how stepping on a mouse could cause Queen Elizabeth
to never be born or the Great Pyramids to never be built. In Source A, the author says that physicists
disagree that someone traveling into the past could have any impact on the unfolding of events, and
that physicists think there has to be some self consistency. This completely goes against what happens
in Bradbury s story, where the killing of the butterfly changes the outcome of the president, and the
language becoming unreadable. If the earth truly has self consistency, then the butterfly wouldn t
change those outcomes, and makes the story harder to actually

Sqfe method Under Uncertain Conditions by Generating Fuzzy Membership Function
Abstract: The quality based approach SQFE (Suivi Qualite Par le Fournisseur Exterieur) has been
introduced by three automotive corporations to measure the quality of supplier products. This
approach proposes a general criterion by which inspection samples are classified to different demerit
categories with different weights, to compute mean unit demerit for each measurable quality
characteristic. However, the assignment of an actual and crisp demerit weight to each sample is
unrealistic, in the face of the unavoidable measurement errors as well as the inevitable uncertainty
involved in human judgment. In this paper an improved estimation procedure which is based on fuzzy
logic instead of bivalent logic, is presented to calculate s. The fuzzy set theory is used to add more
accuracy and flexibility to the analysis. For this aim, likelihood view has been adapted to generate
fuzzy membership function, in order to assign the appropriate demerit weight to each sample. In
addition, a numerical example that evaluates products based on the proposed method and compares it
with the current standard procedure is presented.
INTRODUCTION
Many kinds of classification systems have been provided in various military and International
organizations for Standardization (ISO)such as, quality rating systems which have been applied and
extended to define, classify, and evaluate none conformities

Descriptive Essay On Rainy Lake
I gaze up and see the glimmering beauty of Rainy Lake. We have finally arrived in Canada after the
dreadful twelve hour drive. As I step out of the car the overwhelming purity of the Canadian air
envelops me like a cool swimming pool on a scorching hot day. We have finally arrived at the most
beautiful place on earth, Rainy Lake Canada. The first thing I do is wander around to truly take in the
beauty of where we have arrived. I look to my left and observe a pair of quaint little brown cabins.
Perched perfectly on the hill as if God himself had placed them there. Directly in front of me is the
vast and gorgeous Rainy Lake. A brown dock extends into the lake just as a key would into a lock. I
then walk straight onto the dock that allows you ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I head past my brothers and I room and feel a crisp chill from our hard working fan. I then head
toward the white cabin door. I quickly fling my body out of the cabin in hopes that the bugs trying to
get inside the warm cabin do not sneak in. I immediately head toward the calmly brown rocking dock
lying across the water. The dock extends so far that the end of the dock cannot be seen because of the
darkness, appearing to resemble a walkway to a new dimension. I make my way to the beginning of
the dock and begin my journey to the new world. Walking through the darkness to the other side I can
feel the temperature changing and a smooth breeze beginning to whistle. I finally make my way to the
seemingly new universe. I turn back to look for the quaint brown cabin, the shiny silver boats, and the
trees that claustrophobically surround the whole setting. However, the darkness engulfs all of these
beautiful things and none of them exist in this new world that I have discovered. Finally, I lay down
and open my eyes to find the only light this foreign location has to offer. After seeing the vast expanse
of glowing amebas in the sky I think to myself, this is

Advantages Of Hybrid Vehicles
Traditional vehicles use gasoline or diesel to power a combustion engine, while hybrid vehicles use
both the traditional combustion engine and an electric motor ran on electricity. Hybrid vehicles are
superior to their conventional counterparts when it comes to fuel efficiency. Like in traditional
vehicles, the combustion motor s alternator charges the vehicle s battery. But the difference is that in
hybrid cars, there is an electric motor that can utilize the energy generated by the alternator. The
reason why hybrids are so efficient is that the alternator from the combustion engine charges the
battery which runs the electric motor. Therefore, hybrids can alternate from one energy source to the
other, cutting down the amount of fuel needed to go longer distances. Hybrids are also considered
environmentally friendly because they produce 90 percent fewer emissions than their conventional
competitors. Hybrids are also flexible when it comes to their energy source. Hybrids can be fueled like
normal cars are powered by wholly by electricity, and of course, they can use both. Moreover, ghe
electric motor is not the only aspect that contributes to hybrids fuel efficiency. The feature Idle off is
often found in Hybrid vehicles. Idle off works much like a refrigerator s light bulb when the door is
closed. When stopped, hybrid vehicles will go into idle off, turning off the combustion engine while
still powering the interior technology with the vehicle s battery, saving fuel.

The Effect Of Magnetic Organizer On Young Older Audience
Review of Literature Target Audience The Magnetic Organizer will appeal to a young older audience.
Both boys and girls can be unorganized, and therefore the Magnetic Organizer is for both genders. The
Magnetic Organizer can appeal to many students who have trouble being organized in school. Leaving
folders, papers, or homework somewhere are constant struggles of students. Magnetic Organizers can
be used by both amateurs and professionals as both need to be organized in order to either become a
professional, or stay one. The disabled could probably not use this design, as the main function needed
to operate my design is to pull up the bin from the magnetic lock, and be able to grab whatever is
placed inside of the magnetic binder. This is not a very complex design, so it can be used without
much previous knowledge on how it functions. The concept of the design can be learned fairly quick.
Similar Products Many common products meet the need as the magnetic organizer. One of the most
common are named folders. This product meets the same purpose as the Magnetic Organizer,
although, is very simple. Papers can fall out if turned upside down, and can cause much stress if done
on accident. Another downside to folder is there small size can cause us to regard our attention to
larger objects, causing the possibility of forgetting the folder somewhere. Another product is named a
bin. A bin can be used to store many items and papers, although it may not always be very portable,

Short Speech On Osteoarthritis
Osteoarthritis is the most widely recognized manifestation of arthritis. It influences millions of
Americans, and men and women all around the world. Same as all types of arthritis, it is described by
the degeneration of joints, which brings about extreme aggravation, torment, firmness, and an intense
decrease in scope of movement.
The possible wearing away of the defensive ligament between bones is the thing that causes the
torment and aggravation presented by osteoarthritis. At the point when this ligament is destroyed or
debilitated, the bones that create the joint are compelled to connect without a defensive layer. This
harm to the ligament of joints normally ranges from minor roughening of the surface to complete
erosion. Most regularly, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

An Antisocial Behavior Disorder ( Aspd )
Psychopaths and sociopaths combined make up 5% of the general population. Chances are that
everyone will come into contact with either a psychopath or a sociopath at least once in their lifetime.
An antisocial behavior disorder, also known as ASPD is described as a mental disorder categorized by
disregard for other people. Psychopaths and sociopaths both fall into ASPD. Psychopaths and
sociopaths obtain key traits in common, but there are very strong differences as well. Psychopaths do
not have the ability to feel empathy for anyone besides themselves, whereas sociopaths can develop an
attachment to certain people. Sociopaths are impulsive and short tempered Psychopaths are more
controlled and calculated, they plan their crimes and take ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An impulse is defined as a sudden and unreflective urge or desire to act also as a driving or motivating
force this combining with the inability to to think about being successful and putting a family or
anyones needs including their own above their own sociopathic needs and impulses. In the movie The
Silence of the Lambs there is a killer Jame Gumb named nicknamed buffalo bill , named that way for
his impulsive killing. He lures women off the streets and then skins different parts of them to make a
suit for himself. This character could have gotten away with his crimes but he was not meticulous
enough in how he disposed of his bodies and how he picked up his victim. He was sloppy and let his
impulses control him, when his lover left him to be with another man he killed his other lover, this
was one of the key clues as to how he was identified in the movie. Psychopaths have control over their
impulses with makes them that more dangerous, and also makes them harder to identify Sociopaths
make up 5% of the population they only make up 1%. They can plan out their crimes and can control
their emotions while they plot. This doesn t mean that they don t have impulses they just don t act on
them as frequently or as recklessly. Hannibal Lecter in the The Silence of the Lambs is portrayed a
Psychopath. Lector is in a prison and is giving hints to the police about how to help catch Buffalo Bill.

Ebony Case Summary
The legal system has been proved ineffective in achieving justice in Ebony s case, where the
perpetrators of her death have been sentenced to inadequate time and in turn has undermined the
severity of the case. Government agencies have consistently failed to address pressing issues
pertaining to the family when help was clearly needed and have been incompetent in providing
assistance in countless instances, it is believed that Ebony s death could have been preventable if they
had intervened. Despite the ineffectiveness of the legal system in this case, her death served as a
catalyst for the NSW government initiating a Special Commission of Inquiry into Child Protection
Services and for legal reforms to the child protection system. This was ... Show more content on

The recommendations of the inquiry were directly aimed at the failings identified in Mr Barbour s
report. In March 2009, the NSW Government responded to the inquiry by releasing a plan of reform
for child protection. Keep them Safe, a five year plan designed by the government, contemplates
fundamental changes to the way in which child protection services are delivered in NSW. The
cornerstone of the changes is to make child protection a shared responsibility . All relevant
government agencies will have prescribed responsibilities for ensuring the wellbeing of children. In
line with this the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998 had been amended to
permit the exchange of information relating to the safety and welfare of a child. The expanded role of
a range of government agencies have the potential of making these agencies more responsive to the
needs of children at the local level, and of ensuring that more families receive timely and appropriate
support. In total, the inquiry has made 111 recommendations, ultimately forming the basis of a major
overhaul of the child protection system and has lead to a vastly changed child protection system in
NSW. Through the recognition of failures within Ebony s case, the legal system and government has
effectively amended, improved and introduced legislature and plans to ensure the protection and well
being of

Malcolm Of The Malcolm X Journey
The Malcolm X Journey
Malcolm Little was born in the mid twentieth century, these were difficult times for the black youth.
As Little grew older he knew there needed to be change, he was one of the few people that was
capable of making that happen for the fellow African American and African. At a very young age
Malcolm grasped the concept that there s something not right, that there needed to be an alteration and
thus is where he started his studies. Malcolm needed to be outspoken he wanted to achieve a certain
impact on others. So he began reading into law, that was the only way for him to get some kind of
basic education. In the midst of his devotion to start a revolution, Malcolm Little s father was killed.
The rage and anger he had took over him and Malcolm became rebellious. Malcolm let go of all his
dreams that he once had and he became a troubled child and started committing felonies targeting
white people, such as armed robbery, burglary. In 1946 he was arrested, it was then and there where he
sat and the unconscious became conscious once again all because of a great influence. Malcolm Little
then changed to Malcolm X, he believed that X was his slave name that was lost. Malcolm X was
empowering arising the new man that brought hope and awakened influence to those that mered not to
have a voice of their own. I will try to layout some of the influences that Malcolm had and the impact
he made on others, the achievements that this man made throughout his time

  • 2. How Did The Printing Press Contribute To The Reformation The printing press and its involvement in the reformation Sometime before 1450 Johann Guttenburg developed the printing press, this invention made the printing of lengthy texts far easier. In the years following Gutenberg s era to Luther s, printing as an industry was improving exponentially. The press received mechanical improvements, increasing efficiency. Printing also became a large industry with large facilities dedicated to printing. The Reformation would prove good to the printing industry as more and more lengthy material was written. Gone was the need for manuscripts and the long process of hand written works. Martin Luther nailed his Ninety Five Theses to the door of the Wittenberg church on October 31, 1517. He wanted to discuss ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was important to Luther and indeed any writer to pick the best publisher for the job. Grunenberg was used to publish Luther s Seven Penitential Psalms. Grunenberg s placement in Wittenberg University was very fortuitous for Martin Luther as he was able to monitor and oversee all the work that Grunenberg was doing for him while he was teaching at Wittenberg. At some point Luther became unhappy with the work Grunenberg and went on to work with Melchior Lotther who established a printing shop in the University to work for Luther . Luther and Lotther had a good working relationship and Luthers publications prospered under Lotthers printing. If Luther was placing such an emphasis on the relationship and work ethic of his printer, then we could conclude from this that Martin Luther himself placed a great emphasis on the printing press and recognised it s importance. Without its invention, the speed and reach of Luther s and indeed other reformer s writings would have been stunted. The press allowed Luther to try new things when it came to publishing such as publishing the first part of a book to see how much interest there was for it before releasing the rest. This could be used to reduce the chance of a financial disaster and could possibly be the first time such a thing was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. American Identity In The Scarlet Letter By Nathaniel... The quintessential struggle for identity inundated the American people after the Revolutionary War; the country was faced with the struggle of not only establishing a new government but also with the feat of defining America as a new country. Many literary works and writings were crucial in facilitating the infant nation s journey in separating from the English culture in order to create this unique American identity. This process of creating an American identity was not realized with either ease or haste, and the concept of American identity altered and grew concurrently with the nation. Literary figures portray different understandings of American identity, each perspective echoing the national reality at of the epoch or expressing a visionary idea of American identity. Nathaniel Hawthorne and Washington Irving, both from around the early nineteenth century, demonstrate the diversity that exists in the concept of the American identity, though this identity is based in a similar truth. Neither Hawthorne nor Irving are wholly able to separate the concept of American identity from the country s history and past, as although America is a new county, its origin lies in its Puritan and English heritage; however, in his story Rip Van Winkle Irving only focuses on the muddled reality of a shaky and underdeveloped American identity whereas in The Scarlet Letter, Hawthorne portrays an unique American identity that has begun to grow from the past while still being inseparable from ... • 4. Essay on Nutrition Therapy for Cardiovascular Disease Nutrition Therapy for Cardiovascular Disease It is imperative as a nurse to develop an understanding that caring for a patient goes beyond the physical care given and it includes a holistic aspect: caring for the body, mind and soul. This holistic approach can be applied when assessing patients nutritional status and helping them implement healthy life choices, while living with a disease and possibly the comorbidities caused by the disease. Specifically, cardiovascular disease (CVD) and the comorbidities associated can be highly preventable with adequate nutrition, regular exercise and management of a healthy weight throughout life. It is the care provider s duty to educate patients on prevention and risk reduction for CVD, and to work ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Diets rich in fruits and vegetables are recommended as part of a healthy diet because they may reduce the risks of chronic diseases with the help of potassium, folate, vitamins, and fiber that are within fruits and vegetables. These sources are found in foods such as nuts, soy products, fatty fish because of the omega 3 fatty acids, garlic, bananas, kiwifruit, avocados, beef, and lamb. Studies have found that people who have a high intake of fruits and vegetables are at lower risk of developing CVD, especially stroke (Dudek, 2010, p. 496). Whole grains should also be incorporated in meals daily because the soluble fibers like those found in barley, dried peas and beans, flax seed, fruits and oats, are known to lower LDL levels, which is one of the main causes for comorbidities that can progress to CVD. Patients at risk of developing CVD are to avoid foods high in saturated and trans fat because both, increase the LDL and total cholesterol levels, the ratio of LDL to HDL cholesterol, and the risk of CHD (Dudek, 2010, p. 497). Suggestions for avoiding these fats include choosing lean meats, trimming away any visible fat, and replacing red meats for skinless chicken or fish. Added sugar and sodium also should be avoided because beverages and foods high in sugar tend to provide calories with few nutrients. Increase of sodium intake can cause hypertension which is directly related to developing CVD. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Kodaly Chapter Three Evidence of the Positive Effects of the Kodaly Method on American Music Education Numerous studies have provided evidence of the positive effects the Kodaly Method has on many aspects of the child as a whole person. Literacy is a very important part of the education of a child. Gromko (2005) tested the hypothesis that music instruction that emphasizes the development of aural perception would lead to significant gains in the development of young children s phonemic awareness, particularly in their phoneme segmentation fluency (the ability to break words down Into Individual sounds). Musical involvement allows students to think about math in a different way. In the regular classroom, math is often just math. Often times, children cannot see the use for math, especially if it is a subject that they struggle to understand. In music class, however, math has a very distinct purpose. It helps make music. Without math there would be no steady beat. Music gives math a purpose and helps students understand skills using cross curricular approach. The information found as a result of these tests is also significant because it proves the importance of music education in the overall education of a child. Kodaly believed that music education should exist at the core of curriculum. He believed that music is essential to make any education complete. INTRODUCTION Defendant SARAH MINER (hereinafter Ms. Miner, ) owner, and operator of the Portola complex, recently denied Plaintiff DARLAWILLIAMS (hereinafter Plaintiff, ) a former tenant, application to continue leasing at the complex. As such, Plaintiff brought several suits (Exhibit 1) against Ms. Miner, alleging discrimination as the basis for her denial. The Plaintiff s case against Ms. Miner, however, is without merits. Plaintiff received several noise complaints (Exhibit 2) throughout her tenancy, disrupting the peaceful residential community. Moreover, Plaintiff failed to keep her unit in good condition, resulting in considerable damage to the unit and property. • 8. Humans Were Affected By Island Dwarfism ( Morwood ) Many people, before the discovery of Homo floresiensis, assumed Homo sapiens were the only living species of the genus homo since Homo erectus. The 2003 discovery of the hobbit in a limestone cave in Flores, Indonesia changed the way people today view much of the timeline of early human evolution. The island of Flores was assumed to have never been connected to any mainland, bringing to question how this species arrived on the island in the first place as well as what the island looked like at the time. There were several physical characteristics such as leg length and brain size that made the discovery of Homo floresiensis so special. The bones found were dated to 18,000 years ago, astoundingly recently (Brown). To this day, it is unclear how this species evolved to be so small. Scientists had developed several different theories but have frequently come to the conclusion that these humans were affected by island dwarfism (Morwood). The environment in which Homo floresiensis lived, their physical structure and the recency of their existence holds many mysteries around why they were so small and what impact the above factors had on the hobbit s overall size. The discovery of Homo floresiensis occurred of the coast of Indonesia on one of the Wallecean Islands called Flores. The dig site which Homo floresiensis was discovered is called Liang Bua or cool cave . • 9. A Leader Is An Action Leading A Group Or Organization What is leadership? It is defined as being an action leading a group or organization. It involves being able to take control of certain situations, and leading in the correct direction. Being a leader takes great knowledge and skill. It involves one being able to make smart decisions in order for his/her congregation to come out as successful. A leader must also know, that it is wise to have people in his/her corner to advise them of good or bad decisions. President Barack Obama has his Vice President, Joe Biden, along with his elite White House staff, including the Secretary of State, to help with major decisions that could affect the nation. Pastors have deacons who help them lead their congregation, or church, in the right path of reaching others, who are seeking for help and prayer in time of need. A leader must know that it is wise to have the correct people in his/her corner to keep them on track, in order to not falter. If failing becomes even possible for a leader, it can cause a catastrophic outcome for his/her followers. In Shakespeare s play Richard II, we learn of a great king who chooses not to listen to the wise people in his corner, and see the outcome of his choices. It contains of six cognitive domains, which are known from the year of 1956 as knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation. However, the bloom taxonomy was later revised in 2001 to remember, understand, apply, analyze, evaluate, and create (Ugur, Constantinescu, Stevens, 2015). Using Bloom Taxonomy in lesson planning will help teachers to develop lesson objectives based on students level of proficiency. Why Use Bloom Taxonomy in Lesson Planning? Bloom Taxonomy was established to meet the needs of students based on the learning outcome expectation or curriculum aims. It has been said, Bloom taxonomy helps teachers to formulate lessons that practice and develop thinking skills over a wide range of cognitive complexity (Hess, Jones, Carlock, Walkup, 2009, p. 1). The six cognitive domains of bloom taxonomy helps teacher to develop lesson objectives, because it explains the process of learning. To begin understanding Rene Descartes method of doubt, you need to suspend all prejudice and prior judgments and start with a clean slate for the purpose of discovering some ultimate truth on which to base all thought. (Kolak, Pg.225). Discouraged with much skepticism from his own beliefs, Descartes was embarrassed of his own ignorance. He set out to try and accomplish the task of finding an absolute truth in which he would base his beliefs. On the other end of the spectrum, apriori knowledge ,which is an understanding based on reasoning, is a more efficient way of explaining the method of doubt presented by Descartes. Method of Doubt Step One On the journey to find truth to base all thought upon, Descartes explains his first step in doing so. Never accept anything for true which I did not clearly know to be such; that is to say, carefully to avoid precipitancy and prejudice, and to comprise nothing more in my judgment than what was presented to my mind so clearly and distinctly as to exclude all ground of doubt. (Kolak, Pg.228). Assuming that everything you see is fictitious, Descartes believed he had no senses at all; body, shape, extension, motion, and place are unreal. (Weissman, Pg.23). Our senses have failed us all at one point or another in our lives, so why use the senses as a base for thought? The most famous quote and philosophy by Descartes in history ever, Je pense, donc je suis, cogito ergo sum (Durant, Pg.639). I think, therefore I am was the first step towards a basis to understand truth, and leaning away from truth through the senses. Method of Doubt Step Two The second argument that Descartes defends is another question posed towards the senses. How can we take anything as real if our dreams cannot be ... Before making any judgements, some problems are being worth paying closs attention to here, such as profitability of Mt Wellington, transfer of ownership. Enclosed with this letter is a detailed explaination in which you may find the constructive comments. Relating to core issue, there are two scenarios need to be classified, which will result different conclusions: In the first place, the present situation is some areas in Mt Wellington are privately owned by the Hobart and Glenorchy city councils, although the State Government has already introduced new laws during in the earlier period this year that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Similarly, we could use the same standard to measure the other part in Mt Wellington. The rest area that no one has way to claim could not be addressed as asset. The reason is there is no entity to manage that area. According to the Australian Accounting Standard Board AASB138, it falsifies one of the essential characteristic of being asset, asset must be control by the entity . Hence, this area could not be accounted as asset. When we make an intensive study of this unowned area, it should be put into a category of natural resource since it is out of management. According to Comstock (2016), a natural resource is something that is not made by humans but is necessary or useful in their lives . To some extent, the landscape, water resource and wild forest in this area have enriched the biodiversity and are helpful to the local environment construction. As local communities said, any activity within Wellington Park has the potential to have an impact upon natural and cultural values, and the Council s assets, within the reserve . In fact, no one has the right to possess himself/herself of the unclaimed area. At the moment, the whole Mt Wellington could not treated as an asset, even the current status is in good condition. Sub topics Key Research Q s Spider silk What is spider silk? Spider silk is a protein fibre spun by spiders themselves. Spider silk is used by spiders to help them with daily activities such as catching prey, creating nests and/or cocoons, or to wrap up prey. Spiders also use the silk to suspend themselves in midair, which help them escape from potential predators. The stickiness and thickness of the silk is mainly dependent on the type of spiders creating it, and the type of silk being created in some cases is different for different uses. It was previously used as an inhalational anaesthetic gas but has since been discontinued. Methoxyflurane is currently being used in the pre hospital and hospital settings by Australia, New Zealand and more recently the UK. It is commonly called The green whistle in New Zealand and Australia. Methoxyflurane was administered through a device called the Abbott Analgizer which allowed patients to self administer the Methoxyflurane and was then transformed into a metered dose inhaler called Penthrox inhaler. In this essay I will be discussing how the character and quantity of these open spaces differ across two areas, Tower Hamlets (TH) and The City, before suggesting key factors affecting them. First though we must define the question, by explaining the key terms. Open Space can be interpreted in different ways, however I understand it to refer to green space (parks, woodlands, gardens) but also the open river and canal space, or the open air in the capital. I interpret character as the type of open space, the size and location in relation to other land use (commercial, industrial or residential), and overall feel of the space. Quality is interpreted as the standard of the space (for example how well maintained, features available and overall air quality). Finally, the variation across the city refers to how the style and standard of these spaces differ across the 1000mile2 area, comparing similarities, patterns and exceptions across boroughs. However, the rules should indicate that the book group is a safe environment (as is the entire classroom) where everyone has a voice. Rules that alert students to be respectful, responsible and agree to disagree are common suggestions. Allow students to make the book club ground rules chart to display. Similarities Between Ancient Egypt And Ancient Athens A Comparison of Societies in Ancient Egypt and Periclean Athens Midterm Essay Maureen Cairns In comparing and contrasting the societies of Periclean Athens and ancient Egypt, we must first mention some of the characteristics of an actual society: a society has a stable food supply, social levels and classes, specialization of labor, a system of government, and a highly developed culture. Both the societies of ancient Athens and Egypt fit into these parameters. In this essay we will explore social classes, gender relations, social inequality, and hierarchy as they apply to these societies. Both ancient Athens and Egypt adhered to a strict hierarchical framework, ranking people as superiors or inferiors. Old Kingdom Egyptian hierarchy is described as having the king and queen at the top, with priests, administrators, governors and army commanders coming second, then the commoners who worked mostly in agriculture, and finally, slaves, who had been captured in war. Here the word children translates in the Greek, téknon which means a child, descendant, inhabitant. Téknon properly, a child; (figuratively) anyone living in full dependence on the heavenly Father, i.e. fully (willingly) relying upon the Lord in glad submission. This prompts God to transform them into His likeness. The NKJV translates, for you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. This word son translates in the Greek, hyiós. It emphasizes likeness of the believer to the heavenly Father, i.e. resembling His character more and more by living in faith. The choice of the word son may be in part because during biblical times a son was considered the inheritor of land, property, and family wealth. Daughters were not typically ones to inherit anything. Further, each of the three translations uses the word all . The word all in the Greek translates, pas . Pás ( each, every ) means all in the sense of each (every) part that applies. The emphasis of the total picture then is on one piece at a time. By all it is not excluding anyone or singling out one group of people (as described in 3:28). All of Tony Montana s (Al Pacino) self established business is being tested by the enemies he s making along his path of crime in Scarface, 1983 . Brian De Palma certainly knows how to make an audience initially love, which gradually turns into hate, the protagonist of the film. Martin Bregman, came to Palma with the concept of remaking the 1932 Scarface with the a modern twist, as crime has evolved a lot in the 50 year this film laid dormant. Bregman wanted the film to focus on the modern day crime bosses, rather than remake an outdated mindset, which can be seen with scarface s military technology. This then evolved into the drug filled miami setting, due to production costs. Scarface, Tony Montana, starts the movie as a political prisoner in Miami Florida, with aspirations to rise up to the top by any means necessary. Tony and his friend, Manny Ribera (Steven Bauer), are able to get work at a small food stand as dishwashers. This brings them to meeting the local colombian mafia, which in turn drags them into the filth that is organized crime. The Effect Of Pictorial Condition And Verbal Condition Essay The effect pictorial condition and verbal condition have on the number of correct responses in a memory test Abstract The aim of the experiment was to test whether pictures or words would lead to an increased recognition response. The picture superiority effect suggests that pictures are better recognised than words. This is shown by supporting researchers. Standing et al (1970) found that participants who studied over 2000 pictures, 90% of those had accurately recognised them after several days. Paivio had also suggests that pictures are dual coded which explains why pictures are better remembered than words, which is encoded once in memory. In order to investigate whether pictures or words are best recognised participants were split into two conditions, pictorial and verbal. In the verbal condition participants saw words after being presented with pictures for 10 seconds whilst the pictorial condition saw pictures. This therefore measured the participants correct recognition response in both the pictorial condition and verbal condition. The participant completed 48 trials in each condition. More importantly, The background to the conflict lay in the church of Alexandria . St. Athanasius was born around the year AD 297 to a Christian family in the city of Alexandria. His parents were wealthy enough to afford giving him a fine secular education. At the young age of 10 years old, in A.D. 306, there was a baptism ritual with other children. Playing the part of a church official, he baptized one of the children during this sacrament of baptism. He impressed the bishop of Alexandria, Alexander, which he became one of his disciples. He writes his treaties to Macarius, true lover of Christ. While some people remain joyful and pleased in their relationships, Frankenstein and his creature in Frankenstein by Mary Shelley and Prospero and Caliban in The Tempest by Shakespeare once showed these characteristics, but conflicts began to grow that turned into complete hatred. As a result of the disputes, it identified how the creators are similar, how the creation of the creatures are comparable, and how the relationships between the creator and the creature in each story are related. To start off, Frankenstein and Prospero share many unique qualities within their stories. Frankenstein made his creature to be powerful amongst all other human beings. Nonetheless, he gave ... The creature states that misery caused him to be furious, but the goodness inside him never went away when it comes to Dr. Frankenstein. On the other hand, the creator said that they are no longer acquaintances, but rather rivals. The same scenario can be said for Prospero and Caliban. Caliban reacted to Prospero s evil doings by using his knowledge against him. Caliban s maleficent tone claimed, Which first was mine own king, and here you sty me... These two companies are critically assessed in link to their individual brand positioning strategies. Some strategies overlap each other whereas some are different, so both are discussed in context. The brand positioning strategy has taken into account the individual companies marketing objectives, sales pitches, expansive strategies and service competition that are provided nationally and internationally. Wal Mart has its extensive operations, hence has a more generic service oriented approach where products are sold and retailed in an intelligent global manner. In this context, its international website layout, online presence and promotional campaigns are discussed that hopes to target mass social target audience. On the other hand, Sainsbury deals in the same business of retail and online shopping, but since its operations are more suited and favorable in the United Kingdom, that is why its operations are limited compared to Wal Mart. Sainsbury deals with niche market segment, which is limited by some geographic and demographic segmentation. Sainsbury s promotional and marketing campaigns are also less generic, and keep intact its present social and cultural context. Both companies are suggested for service development, market penetration and market developments. Since both companies are rates exceptionally agile, they still compete on the ... • 39. Smallpox And The Epidemic Of Smallpox During the 19th and 20th centuries, a now eradicated disease called smallpox killed an estimated 300 500 million people. This life threatening disease is marked by a rash of blisters filled with a thick, opaque fluid that cover the face, arms and legs (see Figure 1). Many of those who managed to survive smallpox were left with permanent complications such as scars, blindness, and in some instances, limb deformities. Occurrences of smallpox are believed to go as far back as 10,000 BC. One of the earliest examples of the disease is the pustular rash found on the mummified body of Pharaoh Ramses V of Egypt who died in 1157 BC. For a millennia, generations watched helplessly as their children fell prey to the devastating disease. But after rigorous vaccination campaigns in the 1960 s, the World Health Organization had confirmed the eradication of smallpox in 1979 with the last naturally occurring case being reported in 1977. In order to ensure another epidemic on the same scale smallpox doesn t plague the human population, vaccinations against infectious diseases such as polio, diphtheria and rubella should be enforced without exclusions. The key to combating these virulent diseases is to create an immunization in the general public through the use of vaccines. In an effort to build a person s immunity towards a particular disease, vaccines that contain weakened or dead microbes are administered using a hypodermic syringe. Ray Bradbury s A Sound Of Thunder Time Travel in Ray Bradbury s A Sound of Thunder Although the story A Sound of Thunder is a good one, it can be very hard to actually believe it because of the way they time travel back to the past .The claim that Ray Bradbury s A Sound of Thunder portrays the realistic aspects of his story believably is incorrect because in Source B, Einstein showed the speed of light is infinite meaning you could never go back in time, and Source A, when the author talks about how impacting the past might not even have an affect on the future. The first source uses Einstein s theory of the speed of light to justify the claim. In Source B, it says Einstein also showed that traveling at or faster than the speed of light is impossible because mass at these speeds becomes infinite. Einstein says that in order to go back in time, one must go faster than the speed of light. • 42. Method Under Uncertain Conditions By Generating Fuzzy... Sqfe method Under Uncertain Conditions by Generating Fuzzy Membership Function Abstract: The quality based approach SQFE (Suivi Qualite Par le Fournisseur Exterieur) has been introduced by three automotive corporations to measure the quality of supplier products. This approach proposes a general criterion by which inspection samples are classified to different demerit categories with different weights, to compute mean unit demerit for each measurable quality characteristic. However, the assignment of an actual and crisp demerit weight to each sample is unrealistic, in the face of the unavoidable measurement errors as well as the inevitable uncertainty involved in human judgment. In this paper an improved estimation procedure which is based on fuzzy logic instead of bivalent logic, is presented to calculate s. The fuzzy set theory is used to add more accuracy and flexibility to the analysis. For this aim, likelihood view has been adapted to generate fuzzy membership function, in order to assign the appropriate demerit weight to each sample. In addition, a numerical example that evaluates products based on the proposed method and compares it with the current standard procedure is presented. INTRODUCTION Many kinds of classification systems have been provided in various military and International organizations for Standardization (ISO)such as, quality rating systems which have been applied and extended to define, classify, and evaluate none conformities ... • 44. Advantages Of Hybrid Vehicles Traditional vehicles use gasoline or diesel to power a combustion engine, while hybrid vehicles use both the traditional combustion engine and an electric motor ran on electricity. Hybrid vehicles are superior to their conventional counterparts when it comes to fuel efficiency. Like in traditional vehicles, the combustion motor s alternator charges the vehicle s battery. But the difference is that in hybrid cars, there is an electric motor that can utilize the energy generated by the alternator. The reason why hybrids are so efficient is that the alternator from the combustion engine charges the battery which runs the electric motor. Therefore, hybrids can alternate from one energy source to the other, cutting down the amount of fuel needed to go longer distances. Hybrids are also considered environmentally friendly because they produce 90 percent fewer emissions than their conventional competitors. Hybrids are also flexible when it comes to their energy source. Hybrids can be fueled like normal cars are powered by wholly by electricity, and of course, they can use both. Moreover, ghe electric motor is not the only aspect that contributes to hybrids fuel efficiency. The feature Idle off is often found in Hybrid vehicles. Idle off works much like a refrigerator s light bulb when the door is closed. When stopped, hybrid vehicles will go into idle off, turning off the combustion engine while still powering the interior technology with the vehicle s battery, saving fuel. ...
