In the aftermath of the 2008 banking crisis in Iceland, the Nordic country in July
2009 applied for membership of the European Union (EU). Yet public support for this
move has always been marginal and in March 2015 Iceland s government requested
that the country should no longer be regarded as a candidate country. This paper
seeks to find out what the main reasons are behind the anti EU stance in the Icelandic
population. Thanks to an extensive online survey carried out by the author, it could
be confirmed that the protection of the Icelandic fishing and agriculture sectors
worries the Icelanders most, followed by the perception that Iceland is too small to
influence decision making in Brussels. In general, the population adopts a rational
cost benefit analysis to conclude that their country is better off outside the EU.
Sentimental issues, such as the lack of an identity connection with the European
mainland or the protection of (what some see as) their whaling tradition, take less

United States relies on imported oil for about 40% (in 2012) of petroleum

This is also in accordance to the theories made by John Finnis, a naturalist, who
proposes that humans need law to help them achieve their own projects in life and
any rule that hinders them from doing so can be rightfully disobeyed given that it

The purpose of the hearing research experiment is to understand the effects of
experimentally induced conductive hearing loss on spectral and temporal aspects of
sound transmission through the ear. The ability to hear is a critical aspect to
understanding the world around us. The hearing process occurs by sound waves
entering the auditory canal, coming in contact with the eardrum and causing it to
vibrate. These vibrations cause sound waves which are then passed through the
ossicles that lead to the inner ear. As the vibrations are passing thought through, the
motion is setting fluid into the inner ear moving the inner hair cells. This
processes into vibrations to the nerve impulses which are then carried to the brain
by the auditory nerve and is transmitted into the sound that we hear however many
people do not experience this due to hearing loss. Causes of hearing loss may be
congenital of which would be hearing loss at birth or acquired hearing loss which
would be hearing loss after birth. Other causes may be severe ear infections, extreme
noise, ototoxic medications, and chemical exposure effects. The type of hearing loss
that the study focused on was conductive hearing loss that occurs when sound is not
conducted efficiently through the outer ear canal to the eardrum and the tiny bones
(ossicles) of the middle ear (ASHA 2015). What is significant about this type of
hearing loss is that due its normality of a reduction of sound level or the ability to

The world is place which has both the rich and the poor masses. There are around
2.6 billion people in this world which make less than $1 a day. The repercussions

With the rapid development of the high speed internet and information technology,
information products and thus promote more widespread use of the digital data is
increasingly dramatically. Internet provides convenience to make the people change
their habits of the past, by changing the habits and then develop a cloud computing

computing and parallel computing, rapid processing of massive data, so greatly
