Borderlands 2

Provide detailed descriptions from chosen examples that establish…

Clearly state what production technique(s) you think have
been used to create specific soundtrack elements

Setting

The setting is a post-apocalyptic world where the humans are travelling across the
planet to discover treasure. The man at the beginning narrates the story of this
adventure.

I think that the production techniques used for
this is a good quality microphone so that the voice
is heard easily and clearly. I also think that the
voice was edited so that it is louder than it was
actually recorded this starts at 0:01 and finishes
1:48

Mood

The mood for this scene I think is an exciting and fast paced mood. This I think
because the people in the scene are fighting very quickly and the music used for the
scene is very fast paced and lively.

I think that the production techniques used to
create this mood is sound editing software so that
they can change the tempo of the beat in the
music and for the voice in the music. The music
begins at 2:54 and ends at 4:25

Game genre

The games genre is a action game. And this is established by the sounds of
explosions and the sound of things smashing into each other. Also the sounds of
gunfire establish the action as well.

I think that the sounds of the gunfire and
explosions were created either through a
soundtrack for each or created by weapons and
then recorded and edited so that it sound like the
explosion and gunfire is more distant.

Narrative

The narrative of this scene is a bunch of humans fighting against the enemies that
have come to their planet to come and get a special alien element. The humans
were hired and then double crossed by the enemies there are now fighting in the
scene.

I think that the music and the sounds of gunfire
and explosions were edited in the same software
so that they are able to know which is louder than
the other and so that they can adjust which one

they want to be more quiet and which to be
louder. I also think with the cut off to the music at
4:25 helps make the voice easily heard and
clearer, which would have been recorded on a
good quality microphone in a sound booth.
