Setting The setting is a battle ground with two different armies firing shots at one another
and a general that repeatedly shouts ‘’fire’’ and then a collection of gunshots blasts
off. There are no other sounds used in the scene so that it concentrates mainly on
the sound being used in that scene
The production techniques used for the gunshots
would have been recorded in the field by firing a
gun off and then the sound being placed into
editing software so that the sound can be
repeated and slightly put off to a few times to
make it sound genuine and like a group is firing
the guns
Mood The mood is set for the scene by the music that is played. Because it is played
abruptly during the clip it put across a tense mood for the scene also with a lot of
shouts of pain coming from men it also sets a dramatic mood.
I think that the shouts would have been created
using high quality microphones and then edited in
sound editing software to sound louder and more
distance to give the effect that it is far away.
Game genre The game genre is action adventure. The sound of explosions, gun fire and sword
play show this and because of all the violence and killing. The adventure is shown
through all the running across the battle field.
I think that the explosions would have been made
either using sound software to create the noise or
using a raw field recording and then editing it to
fit the time and type of explosion they needed.
Narrative I think that the story is set through the gun fire and the explosions because they
don’t sound as modern as you would hear today I think that they would be set a few
hundred years ago
To get the effect of this gunfire they could have
used sound editing to change the sound so that
the explosions and gunfire sound older and suite
more to a time that they are going for
