Setting

At the beginning of the scene you hear the orchestra start to play there music and
then you see a ship floating through space. The ship is a drift and then continues on
to show master chief the main protagonist floating through it the music settles and
then he begins to talk. After a long conversation the music gets louder and more
intense until the image fades away.

There are different elements in the games music
in this particular cut-scene. I think the music was
created using an orchestra. I also think that the
sound would then put into software to be edited.

Mood

The mood that the music put across I think is one of sadness because the master
chief is now adrift and stuck in space. They needed the right soundtrack to captivate
and amaze the halo audience. I also think that the music puts across a mood of hope
and accomplishment.

The entire soundtrack to show the mood was
created using orchestra, lots of horns and flutes
were used to get the correct mood for the scene
instead of using guitars and drums.

Game genre

The action in the game is conveyed through the music being played using guitars
and drums to get the sense that you are in the heat of battle and getting inspired by
how the music is played during the action segments.

I think that the production techniques used to
convey the action segments is loud and vibrant so
that you get a real feel for the fight that take part
in the game. I also think that the action music is
fast paced to make the action parts sound more
inspiring.

Narrative

The narrative of this scene is the ending to the war between the two factions and
how the music conveys the aftermath and what’s next for the game. The music
details the feeling that it is the end of an era and the fight is finally finished
