Game Title Assassins creed
Provide detailed descriptions from chosen examples that establish… Clearly state what production technique(s) you think have
been used to create specific soundtrack elements
Setting When the cutscene starts, we hear the sounds of seagulls and rioting crowds with a
grouped leader, the sound of a squawking eagle which flies past the protagonist
with the camera panning from location to location, until a ringing of the bell is heard
and giving the protagonist a vanishing effect.
Using sounds of many people talking individually
and levelling them all out to make it sound like a
true riot with someone shouting over it all.
The bell sound can be found anywhere, such as a
church bell, stock sounds.
Mood The mood is portrayed by the sound of speeding drums as the protagonist nears the
guards to make his act leading up to a climatic, speedy rush for the protagonist.
The drum sound could easily be done by a regular
drum set in a recording studio with the
progressive drum beat being easy to repeat aloud.
Game genre Using a speeding drum sound to mimic the sound of a heartbeat, a Gregorian style
tune comes into background with the escape.
Making it clear this game is of the action/stealth genre.
The chant could have been premade from a
different soundtrack or as its own tune, or the
sound producers got a choir in order to make the
cut scene.
Narrative The only narrative that can be heard is the executor saying ‘Death to those who
betray our cause’
The lack of narrative speech is due to the silence and stealth that the protagonist
has portrayed through his moment.
Simply recordable in a sound booth by a voice
actor that doesn’t require much credit within the
game itself.
