Most teaser trailers keep idents (logos) brief, showing them for only 1-2 seconds at the beginning. While some idents have slight animated zoom transitions, most are static photographs. To draw viewers in, many teaser idents feature dark backgrounds with bright, high-contrast logos. For a film with a dark tone, the document recommends designing an ident with a dark grey, black, or white textured background to make it memorable within the teaser trailer.

• From researching many teaser trailers, they are used very differently to many
other trailers or opening sequences.
• Most of the idents that are featured in the teasers are shown at the beginning
of the trailer and tend to only last for 1-2 seconds. They don’t tend to be
animated although some do have a slight zoom transition applied and then
fade to black. This can draw the viewer in more, instead of just watching a
photo of the ident.

teaser trailers have dark backgrounds and a
bright logo to stand out. To keep to the style of
our film we will use dark greys, black and white
to create our ident. I do like the black
background used for most of the idents, however
I think using a textured background will help to
make the ident more memorable to the audience
when in the final teaser trailer.
