2. Conventions Of Trailers: Order
Within trailers there is usually a certain order of
events.
Equilibrium, and then the disequilibrium.
The characters in the trailer are shown to be happy
and enjoying life but then they encounter a
problem and everything changes.
The new equilibrium is usually not shown as that’s
why you go to see the film.
3. Two Minutes To Sunrise
Equilibrium: Party having fun
Disequilibrium: Friend gets killed and friends suffer from loss and attacked by killer
Welcome To Yesterday
Equilibrium: Discover time machine and take advantage of it
Disequilibrium: End of the world begins and they start dying
4. Timing
Trailers are usually 2-3 minutes long, this is
because they don’t want to give too much away.
5. Audio
Usually two different songs are used one more
upbeat and happy but then when the problem
occurs in the plot the music gets tense.
This is to help the audience establish the mood
change.
The Energy
The beat changes throughout the trailer creating more tension
6. Titles
Usually within trailers if there is no narrative text is
used on the screen to catch the audiences
attention.
Why Stop Now
The Duplex
7. Editing
The pace of editing is usually slow at the beginning
but then when a problem is discovered it gets faster.

8. Inspiration
After watching both official trailers and student
trailers one thing which has inspired me is the
editing [ace and its paralellness of it to the
sound.
As when the editing is fast the pace of the music
is fast which sets the right mood and creates
tension making it more exciting and without this
to create a successful trailer is impossible.
