The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

2. Most companies in the film industry spend a lot of their research and planning
screening films. This lets them find the right target audience and discover what sort of
things the audience like to gain more viewers.
It’s important for producers to do market research before planning the;
• mise-en-scen
• costume
• characters
so they are creating their film for a specific target audience.
Without this the film would miss interpret their targets audience’s interests and habits
which means the film wouldn’t sell.
3. From researching similar teasers,
we decided that our target audience
would be men and women ages 16-
35.
From researching
thrillers, they tend to
be based on real life
events which been the
audience will be
interested in modern
technology and social
media
We also discovered
that from the
themes in our
teaser trailer such
as love, it may be
more appealing to
women.
4. • Although there are some mature themes, like kidnap, stalking
and harm.
• The made us decide that the target audience would need to be
older that 18 but not too old as the characters are only young.
• This also helped as the characters were younger and it would be
more appealing to university students as the audience would be
able to relate to the character
5. For our planning and research, we created a pitch presentation.
We then made slight changes to our ideas, such as;
deciding whether we were focusing more on the actual
stalking or the ‘troubled childhood’.
This enabled us to develop our original
ideas for our teaser trailer and put them
into a visual presentation.
This included a brief overview, information about the
key characters, our promotion campaign, poster ideas,
target audience and a brief teaser trailer timeline.
After presenting our
pitch we listen to our
class, as the audience,
and gathered feedback.
6. Rough Cut Screenings
• To find out more from our audiences we decide to carry out
a rough cut screening. This would help us note down and
make changes to parts in our teaser trailer, magazine cover
and poster.
• Many points which needed further research were our brand
identity and if we had reached our aim goal and our overall
narrative to our teaser trailer
Although we had didn't screen our final product, we were
able to make sure we had created the correct products
based on our target audience which was male and female
ages 16-34.
7. • Most of the changes
made on our poster
were things that we
weren't happy with.
• We got a mixture of
feedback; saying that
the brand identity had
been carried out
through all our
products.
• Also that the drop
shadow on the title
looked like a bruise on
the hand and this
wasn't our intention.
• We also continued to
edit the line around
the hand which had
not been refined in
photoshop.
BEFORE AFTER
8. After the rough cut
screenings and our feedback,
we worked on creating a
background for our character
which made him stand out
from the dark background.
The main weaknesses and
things to work on that we
picked up from our audience
feedback were:
➢ "Background was a bit too
dark"
➢ "Character Blends in with
the background"
➢ "Quote between L & M"
9. Rough Cut
Feedback
When receiving our feedback from our rough
cut, we were able to use this audience feedback
to go back to our products and change the
particular points which were bought up.
In order to create the best marketing
campaign targeted to our audience we worked
on specific ways to enhance our USP and
characters.
10. Final Screening
Feedback
• From reading our feedback on Huzayfah's YouTube page, we
were able to decide whether we had been successful with our
Marketing Campaign.
• The techniques we used in our Teaser Trailer such as; the
ambient sound, the variety of shots (long and short) which
created the pace of the trailer, really helped to show the
genre clearly throughout and created a dark, tense teaser
trailer.
• I think the most evident development comparing the rough
cut and the final screening was the sound that we created.
From the rough cut screening we worked incredibly hard to
create the right atmosphere with the sound as this was one
of the main pieces of feedback.
• I think from the overall feedback our main aims which were;
the storyline, USP and specific characters, were all
understood by the audience.
11. How effective is feedback?
I think that the effectiveness of the feedback we received was definitely evident in the comparison
of our draft and final edit of the magazine and poster. Receiving feedback we were able to work on
the specific areas on our products which would affect our aims and goals for our marketing
campaign. From developing the parts of the teaser trailer, poster and magazine cover that weren't
as strong, we were able to create a strong marketing campaign. Which had a strong target
audience, USP and all three products were understood by our audience which was evident from our
feedback from our final screenings
