The study investigates the effect of pH on the simultaneous saccharification and fermentation (SSF) process of water hyacinth biomass to bioethanol, using Trichoderma harzianum and Saccharomyces cerevisiae as microorganisms. The optimal pH for maximum bioethanol production was found to be 5.0, which resulted in a concentration of 47.20 g/L. This research highlights the potential of using water hyacinth, a readily available lignocellulosic biomass, for sustainable bioethanol production.
