Lao Tzu And Niccolo Machiavelli Summary
Distinguishing the differences between Lao Tzu s Tao te Ching, written in the early sixth century
B.C.E., and Niccolò Machiavelli s The Qualities of the Prince, composed in 1513, can be shown
through major points that both pursue opposing opinions. Whether it is their view of war, their stand
on leadership, or even how they believe the ruler should be perceived, Lao Tzu and Niccolò
Machiavelli always seem to be on a different page. Through their pieces of work, one can see how
their views differ. Between Lao Tzu wanting nothing but peace and harmony and Machiavelli seeing a
need for power and fear, both are on two very different ends of the spectrum. Lao Tzu s stand on war
is not what one might expect; he believes that peace has more power than war and that all men with a
good set of morals look down upon the men who seek to fight. Along with war being an unnecessary
product of compromise, Lao Tzu view s weapons as a disgrace as well; this idea is shown on page 209
when he adds, Weapons are the tools of violence; all decent men detest them. He later then states,
There is no greater illusion than fear, no greater wrong than preparing to defend yourself, no greater
misfortune than having an enemy, (page 210). Lao Tzu detests war and sees it as a shame to even take
part of the hate that is involved with fighting. On the other hand, Machiavelli suggests that it is fit for
a leader to show close to perfect fighting techniques on and off the battlefield. War is shown as a
lesson of fortitude for leaders during his time, Machiavelli explains, Its institution, and its discipline;
because that is the only profession which befits one who commands; and it is of such importance,
(page 221). He later discusses, on page 222, how a leader must train in his free time to prepare and
become the most powerful fighter of all the men by mentioning, and in peacetime he must train
himself more than in time of war; this can be done in two ways: one by action, the other by the mind.
One can conclude that Machiavelli defines a strong leader through both psychological warfare and
hand to hand combat. He also sees war as a learning curve for the men who wish to become a leader;
Machiavelli s understanding off a strong leader

Feedback tools need to be developed to increase the effectiveness of management and increase
management s accountability for their team s performance. Lastly, managers should remember the
golden rule in that they should treat Cast Members how they would want them to treat Guests. In
doing so, Disney will be striving to create a magical experience not only for its valued guests, but also
for the people that make it happen, the Cast.
Disney s Guest Expectations
Part of the Disney success is our ability to create a believable world of dreams that appeals to all age
groups. Walt Disney
Much of what differentiates Disney Theme Parks from their competitors is their ability to fully
immerse guests into a magical reality where the thoughts and concerns of the outside world are pushed
to the wayside. The core to the success of Disney Theme Parks is an outstanding commitment to guest
service and the Cast Member s ability and freedom to do whatever possible to make sure the guest s
stay is a positive and memorable one. This has become the expectation of Disney guests, as well as the
expectation of the organization as a whole. This expectation is difficult to maintain, especially
considering the high expectations of every individual guest that visits the parks. Even one bad

The Question Of Whether Michael Moore Is A Propagandist
The question of whether Michael Moore is a propagandist rather than a maker of documentaries
assumes that documentaries are never propaganda. To answer the question we need clearly understand

The Oxford Dictionary of English defines propaganda as information, especially of a biased or
misleading nature, used to promote a political cause or point of view. (Propaganda, 2017)

Should he have held at least one meeting since taking office to discuss the threat of terrorism with his
head of counter terrorism? Or maybe Mr. Bush was wondering why he had cut terrorism funding from
the FBI.
Bush appears to be extremely uncomfortable and perhaps frightened. He could be trying to guess the
number of lives lost and gauge how best to react at the moment. Alternatively he could be dreaming of
being the illustrator for My Pet Goat instead of the being the President reading that book to school
children while a major tragedy is unfolding... Probably not, but it s as accurate as Moore s guess...
Imaginary things that could go through a presidents head during a national emergency. Those words
are not based in fact, just guesswork.
Moore continues hypothesising Bush s internal monologue, Or perhaps he just should have read the
security briefing that was given to him on August 6, 2001, that said that Osama bin Laden was
planning to attack America by hijacking airplanes.
The report Moore is talking about in that clip is Bin Laden Determined to Strike in US (The National
Security Archive, 2017) that states We have not been able to corroborate some of the more sensational
threat reporting, such as that from a [CENSORED] service in 1998 saying that Bin Laden wanted to
hijack a US aircraft... Nevertheless, FBI information since that time indicates patterns of suspicious

Identification And Identification
Identification has two elements most people know and focus on the first; most companies are
notoriously poor at the second. The first Identification element is, not surprisingly, to understand the
characteristics of potential and current customers, as well as their influencers. This means delving into
what needs they have, what motivates those needs, how they want those needs solved, and who else
influences those needs and potential solutions. It also means looking beyond those presenting
symptoms to the underlying problem that needs to be solved (even if the customer themselves doesn t
recognize it). For example, many people will say that the need to own a car when what they actually
need is transportation. And that broader need can be solved in many ways other than owning a car
(bus, bike, taxi, Uber). The second Identification element described by Peppers and Rogers is to, link
information about that customer across the company and throughout the duration of the customer s
relationship with the firm. This is where I would argue that most companies have a long way to go to
be successful. For example, the first step when calling many companies is to enter your customer
ID/Social Security number/whatever on the telephone keypad . . . and then the first thing the person
who (eventually!) answers the phone does is to ask you for the information you just entered! In
addition, from personal experience, I have run into many situations where sales representatives

Super Sized Communication Essay
Messages distributed by institutions such as the media have the potential to reach very large and
anonymous audiences in a process called mass communication. In the movie Super Size Me, Morgan
Spurlock documents a month of eating McDonald s, only to prove how food media affects the way
Americans are living extremely unhealthy lives. According to The Mediated Communication Process
(modified Westley MacLean model) communication starts with an event, which in this case is the two
teenage girls that decided to sue McDonald s for their obesity, then there are sources, a message, a
communicator, another message and then the audience.
There really are people in our country that are suing a food company for making them fat. This is the

What kind of message is the food industry sending when one fourth of the McDonalds in Manhattan
don t have any nutritional information whatsoever ? On the streets of New York random people were
asked what a calorie was and not one person could define the word a calorie is the measure of the
energy content in food. Wouldn t it be wise of the food industry to inform people of this information
rather than to just post the nutrition facts on the side of a box? It is a form of media literacy when next
to the picture of a salad they write healthy when in reality McDonalds salads are less healthy than a
quarter pounder.
Morgan Spurlock is the communicator in this process. Through the world of entertainment he decided
that he should let America know how we are eating. His way of distributing the message was to create
this documentary on McDonalds. The communicator analyzes the information and passes on a version
of it to the audience. The message that Morgan Spurlock is sending out is more a form of
infotainment, a blur of information and entertainment. America is the audience and we are the one s
that eventually have to decide how we want our nation to live.
Due to semantic noise everyone can and will view this movie differently, but as long as we realize that
we are overweight, than we have made a step in the right direction. After people view this movie some
will react with banning McDonalds from their

Business Rules and Business Intelligence
Business Intelligence projects start out as a simple report or request for an extract of data. Once the
base data is aggregated then the next request usually is about summing data or creating more reports
that have different views to the data sets. Before long complex logic comes into play and the metrics
coming out of the system are very important to many corporate wide citizens. Centrally managed
business rules enable BI projects to draw from the business know how of a company and to work with
consistent sets of business logic – they are what add the intelligence to business intelligence. (pg14)
Once reports are no longer a straightforward representation of base data they begin to depend more
and more on business rules. The term ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to achieve a consistent business definition across an organization the individual departments
need to share and become aware of how this data can heavily influence what they know to be true and
how other interpret what is true. It helps to drive consistency by encoding business logic and can be
defined as a specialized version of business rules. According to the article only 20% of organizations
practice MDM as a separate solution. (pg15)
An independent business logic component should look like a set of rules that are shared among
departments that directly interface with the business users and IT systems, eliminating the need for
developers to write programming code. Experts call such a thing a business rules engine but there
different schools of thought on the term. Some people think that it is a software application that can be
used to capture to business know how and can interpret operational data to gain insight. Others think
that it resembles something akin to AI (artificial intelligence) or expert systems that interpret the
implications of business rules on a set of data. Whatever method is chosen as path forward it is
important that businesspeople can review the existing rules and make modifications to a rules engine.
The rules should be documented and formulated in a natural language (language that a plain speaking
business person can understand) so that a business

“Religion was more important than politics in the failure...
Religion was more important than politics in the failure of King and Parliament to reach a settlement.
1646 1649 , Assess the validity of this statement.
In January 1649, King Charles I was executed after being charged with high treason due to political
and religious reasons, some of which contributed to his refusal in accepting the peace settlements
given to him by Parliament. Charles refusal to compromise was supported by the division that had
emerged within Parliament on how to fight the civil war between the Political Presbyterians and
Political Independents. The main factors of the failure to reach a settlement were religion, politics,
Charles intransigence, the New Model Army and the emergence of radical ideas; all of which ... Show

Still Ireton spoke for the grandees which did include Cromwell and insisted that the franchise should
be restricted to those with a permanent fixed interest in the kingdom as Seel 2 says, and that the vote
should go to those who possessed property or there would otherwise be a disturbance to a good
constitution of the kingdom . This was seen as important because the views of the religious radicals
made settlements more difficult and furthermore increased the tension of division among those in the
army and in parliament.
The politicisation of the New Model Army also played a significant role in the failure to reach a
settlement in the years 1646 to 1649 between Charles and Parliament. What made the army politicised
was the concerns of their wages of £3 million in arrears and the possibility of being faced with the
charges of committing offences from the First Civil War, as Parliament had not passed an indemnity
act. The army presented Charles with the Heads of The Proposals in 1647, which links back to
religious division in parliament, , under Cromwell and Ireton s influence, putting forward more stricter
terms such as religious toleration was to be more effective to a wider degree and that the army was to
be controlled by parliament for only ten years instead of twenty, making the army seem like a

Outsourcing the Processing of Sensitive Information
A current trend in business in the first world (United States and Western Europe) is for the service
sector to follow the lead of the manufacturing sector in looking to the global marketplace to find the
lowest cost means of production. That is, to lower costs and maximize profits, first world service
providers are increasingly seeking to outsource knowledge worker type tasks to countries with
substantially lower labor costs. The type of work being exported includes telephone call center

countries that do not have an adequate information security infrastructure. India, with its growing

The time when the legal structure in developing countries can provide for the protection of

The Internet is the technology that largely makes outsourcing business processes possible. It also

the potential now exists for the disclosure of sensitive data by almost anyone on a scale previously

Essay on The Iliad of Homer and Greek Heroes
The Iliad is an epic tale of war and hero s within the Greek way of life. A predominant and consistent
theme of honor and glory reside throughout the poem. The motivation for any Homeric Greek is glory,
or Kleos , that is to be honored and respected among their people. Emphasis is put on living by the
heroic code. Honor is essential to the Greeks and life would not be worth living without it. When a
warrior or hero is advised to avoid risking their life in battle it almost drives them even further
towards the deed. It is better to be killed in action rather than to live and be thought a coward. By our
rational standards one would certainly not be thought a coward if they didn t rush into battle to almost
certain death, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It would be brought back to the homeland and displayed as a sign of power; this is how Kleos was
attained, and how respect was earned. To the victor went more than the battle armor. They would
regularly take their pick of the local women to take back with them and lay in bed together . This
became one of the centerpieces for the conflict between Achilleus and Agamemnon, when a quarrel
arose and Achilleus was asked to allow Briseis, a prize that he won in battle, to go back to her land. It
is common to keep your female prizes as your own; however, Achilleus felt that his ego was tested
when he was asked to return her. This went hand in hand with the honor factor, it would be shameful
for him to oblige and give back what he rightfully won. After all, she was a symbol of Kleos, by
giving her back he was losing something which he strived so hard to attain. The Greek warrior was
very selfish, there was no sense of community on their foremost mind, and it was about the self and
their status among others. The warrior who was most feared was the warrior that got the most respect
and admirations from the generations that would follow. The poem is after all about Achilleus, a great
warrior that fought hard and attained much glory in doing so. The shame that one would feel from
avoiding battle is evident in many cases throughout the poem. When Hektor is

me by her side trying to wait her up, then going outside crying so my, grandmother could hear me.
There were so many scary moments in my childhood. I, can remember as a child, my father and

catching on fire with my mother and me along with three of my siblings trying to get out with her
telling us to hold on to her and don t let go. Which my father was no there to be found. Later we
learned that he was drinking with his friend up the street under a tree. I was told a few neighbors came

more checks per day than the Federal Reserve System. Globally, it boasted over 140,000 employees
across 190 nations, over $8 billion in annual revenues, $360 billion in deposits, and some $600 billion
in assets (see Exhibit 3 for key financial data). Yet, increasing competition ensured that Bank of
America could not rest on its laurels. Like many of its successful peers, its growth had been driven by
cost reduction and consolidation. From 1985 until 2000, the number of U.S. banks had dwindled from
around 14,000 to about 7,000. These still large numbers especially when compared with there being
only six major banks in Canada reflected the highly competitive nature of the U.S. banking industry as
well as its regional focus. Driving consolidation had been a realization that while service was local,
products were national. Despite this realization, however, banks continued viewing financial services
as commodities, and this bottom line orientation did not make for an industry rife with innovation. In

Hannah Melanchuk Dr. Robert Suran May 1 2013 Microbiology
Abstract Over a three week time span I was able to successfully identify an unknown microorganism
by combining the results of several tests. The first test was the Gram stain test which showed the
microorganism was Gram positive and rod shaped. Using an Unknown Identification Flowchart, I
proceeded to inoculate a Starch plate. In week 2, I analyzed the Starch plate and was able to determine
that the results for Starch Hydrolysis were negative due to the dark color. Next, I inoculated Simmons
Citrate Agar slants. By week 3 I was able to analyze the Citrate Agar, which tested negative ... Show

The decolorized Gram negative cells are stained pink. With the results from the Gram stain I was able
to follow the Unknown Identification Flowchart to the next step, which was to prepare for the Starch
Hydrolysis Test by inoculating a starch plate. Starch is a polysaccharide made up of glucose
molecules. Some bacteria have an enzyme called amylase which breaks starch down into glucose
subunits. The Starch Hydrolysis test is used to determine the production of amylase. Iodine, which is
the mordant used in Gram staining, is used in this test to detect the presence of starch. In order to do
the Starch Hydrolysis Test I first inoculated a starch plate by using aseptic technique. I streaked the
middle of the starch plate with the bacteria into a single line. Then, I let it incubate overnight at 37°C.
In week 2, after I added several drops of Gram s iodine to the starch plate it was ready to be analyzed
for starch hydrolysis. The iodine complexes with starch to form a blue black color in the culture. Clear
halos surrounding colonies is the result of their ability to digest the starch due to the presence of
amylase. With the results of the Starch Hydrolysis Test I preceded to the final test which is the Citrate
Test. Using aseptic technique, I streaked the organism onto the surface of the Simmons citrate slant
and let it incubate overnight at 37°C. The Citrate Test determines if the organism is able to

A Mouth Sweeter Than Salt Review
Toyin Falola s memoir, A Mouth Sweeter Than Salt, portrays one boy s views on the culture and
customs of his county from his perspective as an active participant as well as an observer. From
determining his mother s age to joining in the struggle to free an innocent man, Dr. Falola s journey
growing up in Nigeria embodies the rich, diverse history that defines Africa. The opening of the novel
places the reader not in Falola s shoes as a child, but rather as an adult scholar attempting to procure
information from his own family. This proves easier said than done as Falola takes us through the
process of obtaining specific dates in a society that deems them irrelevant. By examining the difficulty
that Falola has in this seemingly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Education proves to be a major factor in this transition, as the newly educated class demands higher
standards of living and white collar jobs. Falola is able to give a face to the topics and issues that we
have been discussing in class. Little details such as how imported foods change the taste buds of
students and prepare them for a future that would enslave them in the global economy (Falola 145). As
a student who has eaten cafeteria food for many, many years this is a concept that I can identify with
and allows me to see the subtle ways in which the Western world has tainted traditional African
culture. Another major event, Pasitor s attempt to free Jakobu, leads the reader step by step through
the escalating corruption of the government and demonstrates how it directly affects the lives of the
citizens. However, while the reader can imagine what it looked like to live in Africa during these times
of change and hardship, the memoir does not give any indication of what it felt like. The lack of
emotional connections in the text was disappointing and it made it harder to connect on a personal
level with Falola s experiences. In this regard, the book failed to live up to my expectations. Falola s
memoir places the reader in the midst of historical and cultural events by viewing them through the
eyes of a young boy. This personal context allows the reader to better

Italian Theatre In The 18th Century
18th Century Italian Opera in London Opera is a massive genre of theater that has had many major
effects on art. The 18th century especially is a thriving time for opera. According to The Victoria and
Albert Museum, Opera houses were popping up all around Europe. The audiences were lively and
nobility commissioned many new works. Italian opera, at this time was spreading from Italy to other
countries such as England. With the help of my group, we will be exploring the importance of who
brought Italian opera to London, how did London change opera, and what effect did it have on
society? In addition, I will be looking deeply into the effect of opera houses in this period of growth.

Generally, these buildings were made specifically for operas, meaning they, ideally, would have some
of the most efficient sound acoustics of the time! This would help make the show enjoyable for all

There are occasional reports of riots among the cheap seats (the footman´s gallery ). Traditionally

Agile And Agile Software Development
Agile Agile software development refers to a group of software development methodologies e.g.
Dynamics System Development Model, Crystal Methods and Extreme programming (XP
methodology). Agile methods attempt to minimise the risk in software in short time boxes called
iterations. Every iteration includes all the tasks necessary to release the mini increment of new
functionality: planning, requirements analysis, design coding, testing and documentation. At the end
of every iteration the priorities will be evaluated. Agile methods emphasise real time communication,
preferably face to face instead of written documents. Agile methods also emphasise working software
as the primary measure of progress. Agile methods produce very little documentation compared to
other methods. Most Agile teams are located in a bullpen and include all the people necessary to finish
the software. (1) (3) Crystal Methodology Crystal Methodology is one of the most lightweight and
adaptable approaches to software development which focuses on people, interaction, community,
skills and talents and communications. Crystal is actually made up of a family of agile methodologies
such as Crystal Clear, Crystal Yellow, Crystal Orange and others. This refers to the underlining core
which represents values and principals. The principal is that each team has a different set of talents
and skills and each team should use a process uniquely tailored to it. (1) Dynamic Systems

Supply Chain Management Value Of Supply Chains
Paper Heading:
Supply Chain Management Value of Supply Chain
Introduction:
Supply chain management is a complex undertaking that must involve more than one organization s
efforts to succeed. A tremendous amount of skill, time, and money must be present to build and
develop relationships, discover and implement a strategy, and use the capabilities of the chain to build
quality at an efficient financial rate. Allowing for these requirements, it leaves one to wonder whether
supply chain management is a viable option. The answer is yes, because an organization needs a
strong supply chain to compete and be profitable in the marketplace. The key points for supply chain
management should be to meet customer demand, produce excellent customer value, enhance
responsiveness to change, build a network that can resist risk, and develop financial success.
Discussion:
The simplest level of supply chain management is to make inventory readily available to meet
customer demand. Without inventory, there is nothing available to draw customers in. Through their
resources, organizations must meet supply with demand in a timely fashion. Supply chain partners
should work together to increase resource productivity, develop standardized processes, and minimize
the level of inventory. These steps will reduce an organization s waste, costs, and raise supply chain
efficiency.
Reducing supply chain expenses is always a top priority for companies. Any aspect of supply chain
operations can become

Appreciation In The Scarlet Ibis By James Hurst
Learning to Appreciate
How does one gain appreciation? The definition of appreciation is the recognition and enjoyment of
the good qualities of someone or something. People gain appreciation and respect by doing things that
please others. Doodle did many things to please people, and make himself the way others wanted him
even though they should have accepted him the way he was. In The Scarlet Ibis James Hurst uses the
family, casket, and walking, as symbols to demonstrate that one should appreciate someone just as
they are. Doodle s family had no hope or appreciation for Doodle. They even built a casket because
they didn t expect him to live past three months old. His brother, who only taught him to walk for his
own purposes, used the casket to torture him. Doodle s family and ... Show more content on

was three months old. The only one in the family close enough to care was his brother, and he was
constantly hurting and teasing Doodle. One day I took him up to the barn loft and showed him his

Chronic Homelessness In The United States
1. PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION
There are approximately 564,708 homeless people in the United States, and that number not only
includes individuals, but families and children. In fact, 36% of that number were homeless in families,
with almost 25% being children under the age of 18, according to the 2015 Annual Homeless
Assessment Report to Congress. Note that these numbers are a one night snapshot, and in the course
of a year many more people will experience homelessness. These numbers are quite astounding to me,
because we live in a nation full of opportunities for anyone seeking to have a better life for their
family. Statistics from the National Alliance to End Homelessness show that both the number of
people in poverty and the poverty rate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While they make up a small share of the homeless population, they are disproportionately costly to
society: They consume nearly 60 percent of the resources spent on emergency and transitional shelter
for adults, and they occupy hospitals and jails at high rates. (Culhane, 2010) Additionally, this small
population is very visible and thus creates the perception that most homeless are mentally unstable.
3. SOLUTIONS TO HOMELESSNESS
Are there any feasible solutions? There are always solutions, but no silver bullet that will magically
erase the problem. The following alternatives are considered and discussed in this section for their
ability to impact the homelessness problem in America. Please note that no initiative should expect to

Blackfoot Tribe Essay
BLACKFOOT TRIBE
The Blackfoot People are one of the many Native American Indian tribes that roamed America in the
early 1700s. Like many tribes they were nomadic hunters that lived in the Great Plains of Montana
and the Canadian provinces of Alberta. The name is said to have come from the colour of the peoples
shoes that were made of leather. They had typically dyed or painted the soles of their shoes black.
SOCIETY:
The society is hierarchical within the Blackfoot Nation; there were different societies to which people
belonged, each of which had functions for the tribe. Young people were invited into societies after
proving themselves by recognized passages and rituals. For instance, young men had to perform a
vision quest, begun ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The male had to show the woman s father his skills as a hunter or warrior. If the father was impressed
and approved of the marriage, the man and woman would exchange gifts of horses and clothing and
were considered married. The married couple would reside in their own tipi or with the husband s
family. Although the man was permitted more than one wife, typically he only chose one. In cases of
more than one wife, quite often the male would choose a sister of the wife, believing that sisters would
not argue as much as total strangers
In a typical Blackfoot family, the father would go out and hunt and bring back supplies that the family
might need. The mother would stay close to home and watch over the children while the father was
out. The children were taught basic survival skills and culture as they grew up. It was generally said
that both boys and girls learned to ride horses early. Boys would usually play with toy bows and
arrows until they were old enough to learn how to hunt.
TRADITIONS/RELIGION:
The Blackfoot Indian tribes held a major tribal ceremony in the summer, for which all the bands came
together. It was called the Sun Dance. By engaging in the Sun Dance, their prayers would be carried
up to the Creator, who would bless them with well being and abundance of buffalo. Other than the
winter, when a few bands might join together for shelter, this was the only time the entire tribe came

The Snows Of Kilimanjaro And The Big Two Hearted River
This research paper will analyze style and theme in two of Ernest Hemingway s short stories, The
Snows of Kilimanjaro and The Big Two Hearted River, and two novels, The Sun Also Rises and Green
Hills of Africa.1
The Snows of Kilimanjaro is about an author named Harry, who is lying on the African plain and
dying of gangrene. The Big Two Hearted River is about an ex World War I soldier, Nick, who is trying
to put his life back together after the war. Similarly, The Sun Also Rises involves an ex soldier who is
coping with a personal injury and seeks love with a woman named Brett Ashley. Lastly, Green Hills of
Africa, is a non fiction story about Hemingway hunting in Africa. Hemingway visited Africa in 1923.
This is the only book that is completely autobiographical. In the four works reviewed, Ernest
Hemingway has two themes, one about the self and another about his interpretation of a hero, and uses
several techniques such as symbolism, first person narrative, and ambiguity that define his style of
writing.
Analysis of all of Hemingway s prose reveals many themes. Two themes though stand out in the four
works reviewed for this paper. One of them is that the main character (usually the hero) must assert
the self, has a fear of failure, and attacks those things which threaten the successful assertion of the
self. Assertion of the self in the stories usually takes the form of the assertion of the masculine
principle. In Green, Hemingway exerts his masculinity by

$4.50 per each flight segment but not more than $18.00 per round trip ticket (Price amp; Forrest,

must be expended by airports for projects directly related to safety, security, capacity, noise reduction,
and carrier competition enhancement (Price amp; Forrest, 2012).
The PFC program s history dates back to the 1970s. Prior to 1973, some airports would impose a toll
on enplaning or deplaning passengers, a practice known as per head taxes (Wells amp; Young, 2004).
A 1972 Supreme Court ruling upheld the constitutionality of this practice in Evansville Vanderburgh
Airport Authority District et al. v. Delta Air Lines, Inc. et al. (Wells amp; Young, 2004). However, in
1973, Congress passed the Anti Head Tax Act that prohibited airports from imposing these per head
tolls on enplaning or deplaning passengers (Wells amp; Young, 2004). By 1978, efforts to remove
these anti head tax bans were moving forward, though this came with counter efforts to prohibit
airports that impose per head tolls from collecting any other federal funding (Wells amp; Young,
2004).
In 1990, then Secretary of Transportation Samuel Skinner asked Congress to allow the imposition of
$3.00 PFCs in an extension of the Airport and Airway Improvement Act program (Wells amp;

One of the main issues that America has continued to ignore is the problems within the African
American community. Many children within the African American community fail to get the

absence pf a father figure in the household. Reason may be because of a father being imprisoned for
whatever reason, or the father being killed by law enforcement illegally. Thus, the more

Soccer is one of the most popular games in the world. It is played in Europe and the Americas. Soccer

Romans and Greeks used to play ball for fun and frolic. Types of soccer leagues are FIFA world cup,

Puritan Influence On American Culture
The human brain is a story book filled with experiences. Every experience is a new page, and all of
these pages combine to form our personal perspective on the world. In America, we all have an idea of
what is right and what is wrong based off of our own experiences. This causes us to have many biased
views that do not capture the full picture. The values of our immigrant ancestors define who we are
today.
When we are children, we read various stories, and also taught many values from our parent s own
personal views. At the beginning of new generations, this cycle of teaching values repeats itself. Many
of these values we are taught today trace back to the groups that build our country.

the pay gap, yet in many cases it is thought that the main reason is because women are less likely to
negotiate their salary. Even if this is the case, companies need to be aware of their employee s salaries
to stay within their legal obligation. This is what Joe Black, the president of Acme Manufacturing, has
discovered within his organization.
Critical Factors
The central dilemma for this case with Acme Manufacturing is the salary inequities for the female
employees. There are concerns that these inequities were the result of gender discrimination based on
the information provided by the current HR director and her belief of how the previous president felt
about female employees at the company. Although this may be hearsay, the fact that there are
inequities and rumors, it is still grounds for concern and further investigation by HR. Joe Black, the
current President of the company, is looking for the best solution to resolve these concerns. Based on
the job evaluation study performed by a compensation consultant, there is a concern that three female
supervisors and the female HR director are underpaid relative to comparable male salaried employees.

Pso Algorithm Is Developed By The Social Behavior Patterns...
3.3 PSO PSO algorithm is developed by the social behavior patterns of the organisms that exist and
interact within large groups. As, it converges at a faster rate than the global optimization algorithms,
the PSO algorithm is applied for solving various optimization problems easily. In the PSO technique, a
population called as a swarm of candidate solutions are encoded as particles in the search space.
Initially, PSO begins with the random initialization of the population. These particles move iteratively
through the D dimensional search space to search the optimal solutions, by updating the position of
each particle. During the movement of the swarm, a vector Xi=(Xi1, Xi2,...., XiD) represents the
current position of the particle i . Vi=(Vi1, Vi2,...., ViD) represents the velocity of the particle which is
in the range of [−vmax, vmax]. The best previous position of a particle is denoted as personal best
Pbest. The global best position obtained by the population is denoted as Gbest. The PSO searches for
the optimal solution by updating the velocity and position of each particle, based on the Pbest and
Gbest. The next position of the particle in the search space is calculated by using the new velocity
value. This process is repeated for a fixed number of times or until a minimum error is achieved. The
rate of the change in the velocity and position of the particle is given as v_id=v_id+c_1 r_1 (p_id x_id
)+c_2 r_2 (p_gd x_id ) (3.1) x_id=x_id+v_id (3.2) Where c_1

Year 11 Creative Writing
The raspy wind rises in swirls, encircling the entirety of my lean body. The parched, coarse sand
scrapes across my angular face, burying and scraping itself into the warmth of fresh, open wounds.
The sun scorches my skin raw, condemning the violence, the blood, and the screams that seem to echo
all throughout the lifeless mountain side. Welcome to Afghanistan. Bitter laughter fills my head.
Major James D. reporting for duty sir.
White birds start chirping above me. General William P. enters. My battered right hand rises
instinctively above my right brow in a salute and my left hand grasps the familiar metal in its
possession tighter. Although the sand muffles the sound of the General s boots, the ascendancy in his
disciplined strides remains steadfast as he makes his way towards his ... Show more content on

Major, your target today is a small family consisting of a middle aged female, male, and a 10 year old
boy. You will terminate them effectively after interrogation. Do you understand?
I didn t.
Yes, sir! I will interrogate them surrounding their disobedience to follow curfew protocols last night,
sir!
Good. You will exit in 5, 4, 3, 2...
I leap, burning my palms on the concrete road, but the pain is subdued by the smell that pierces my
nose. With my gun secured to my side, I enter the interrogation site that seems to reek of a metallic
scent: a smell I know too well, the smell of blood.
Do you or do you not understand that no one is to keep their lights on after 9:00 p.m?
Silence. My hand, conditioned by this lifestyle, moves to deliver yet another slap across the man s
face. The birds start chirping frantically.
Answer me. Do you or do you not understand?
I shoot their yelping little dog to make my point. The little boy who is holding the bleeding dog starts
wailing and the mother goes hysteric.
N..no listen to me, I don t know why you are doing this to us, but please let us go Jason.

The Apology By Plato And Tao Te Ching
Many decisions involve a considerable amount of contemplation and reasoning. These decisions
include the ethical dilemmas we encounter every day on an individual and global scale, such as
contemplating whether capital punishment is just or unjust. Ethics is often confused with factors that
are not cohesive with our true self but that are induced from society. Ethics is not feelings, religion,
science, or following the law and cultural norm. Ethics is, however, a set of moral behaviors that tell
us what is right and wrong in different situations. Through writings such as The Apology by Plato and
Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu we are can more clearly get a picture of what it means to be ethical and how
to respond to ethical dilemmas. In Plato s The Apology, Socrates supports the fairness and justice
ethical approach by recognizing that all equals must be treated equally. Socrates went in search of
politicians, poets, and craftsmen; all people claiming to have a higher status and greater intelligence
because of their skills. However, through cross examination he found that these men were not superior
to the common man. In fact, he realized that believing one has a specialized type of knowledge
actually limits human wisdom. We must realize that one person is not superior to another simply
because of their occupation, education, race, or gender. No two people are the same; the politicians,
poets, craftsmen, and the common man are all very different, but nonetheless, they

The Demographic Transition Model Analysis
In 2050, Argentina will be in stage four of the demographic transition model. This proposes that the
population growth will be approach zero, and Argentina will sustain an unvarying population. Most of
Europe, Japan, and the United States are perpetually in stage four. Argentina will then be considered a
developed country with most people in the working age group, with a tumbling birth rate. This can be
seen in the 2050 graph when the sides of the pyramid begin to straighten out or become inverted all
together. Eventually in the future, as the birth rate maintains a steady decline and fewer children are
being born, pronatalist policies will have to be put in motion. As the population becomes older, there
will not be enough working ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Based on this rate, Argentina seems to have a good quality of living as well as a fair economic stature
and education system. With a crude birth rate at 19 and a crude death rate at 8, it can be inferred that
Argentina takes care of its elderly and helps young couples plan for their family. With this
understanding of the rate of natural increase, one could look at Argentina s infant mortality rate as
another positive demographic indicator.
Infant mortality rate depicts the number of deaths of children less than one year of age per 1,000 births
within a country. Argentina has an infant mortality rate of 11.7 based on the 2013 World Population
Data Sheet, which is very low compared to the world average of 40 (9). Even though Argentina s
infant mortality rate (IMR) is lower than the world s average, it is not as low as one may think when
looking at their population of 41.3 million people. This means that nearly 826,000 babies under the
age of one have died within their first year. On the other hand, the infant mortality rate of Argentina is
much lower than the majority of Africa and parts of Asia, which suggests that Argentina has a
sufficient healthcare and education system for women (2013 World Population Data Sheet, 9). If the
infant mortality rate is high, which in Argentina s case it is not, it would be a good indicator that the
country most likely lives in poverty and does not

Thematic Essay Things Fall Apart
Things Fall Apart Thematic Essay
How could only a few people move into a village and tear it apart. This what happens in Things Fall
Apart by Chinua Achebe. Okonkwo was famous and lived a good life in the village of Unoka until one
day Europeans came and brought on Christianity. When this happens, Okonkwo must try to stop these
men from disintegrating Ibo society. Social disintegration is an obvious theme in this book.
Throughout the book Chinua Achebe shows this theme through conflict, imager, and resolution.
Conflict is seen throughout the story between the Europeans and the Ibo people. When describing
what happened in the market at abame Obierika says, And they began to shoot. Everybody was killed,
(Achebe 139). The conflict here is between the people of Abame and the Europeans This is the start of
the social disintegration of the Ibo people. One of their villages had been destroyed and now the don t
know how to deal with the power of the Europeans. Later when Obierika is explaining what happened
in Umuofia while Okonkwo was gone and he says, Now he [the white man] has won our ... Show

When the Commissioner comes to Okonkwo s compound after Okonkwo killed the messenger he
sees, Okonkwo s body was dangling, (Achebe 207). Okonkwo was so angry the Ibo people did not go
to war so he killed himself to avoid punishment from the Europas. Okonkwo felt the Ibo were so torn
apart he could not live in that broken safety. He simply could not handle the thought of being ruled by
the Europeans. When the messengers are taking down Okonkwo s body Obierika says, That man was
one of the greatest men in Umuofia. You drove him to kill himself, (Achebe 208). Obierika wants the
Commissioner to know that he has torn lives apart and ruined a once great clan. The resolution shows
the final disintegration of the Ibo people as the Europeans take control and the resistance to their rule
is all but

  • 2. Lao Tzu And Niccolo Machiavelli Summary Distinguishing the differences between Lao Tzu s Tao te Ching, written in the early sixth century B.C.E., and Niccolò Machiavelli s The Qualities of the Prince, composed in 1513, can be shown through major points that both pursue opposing opinions. Whether it is their view of war, their stand on leadership, or even how they believe the ruler should be perceived, Lao Tzu and Niccolò Machiavelli always seem to be on a different page. Through their pieces of work, one can see how their views differ. Between Lao Tzu wanting nothing but peace and harmony and Machiavelli seeing a need for power and fear, both are on two very different ends of the spectrum. Lao Tzu s stand on war is not what one might expect; he believes that peace has more power than war and that all men with a good set of morals look down upon the men who seek to fight. Along with war being an unnecessary product of compromise, Lao Tzu view s weapons as a disgrace as well; this idea is shown on page 209 when he adds, Weapons are the tools of violence; all decent men detest them. He later then states, There is no greater illusion than fear, no greater wrong than preparing to defend yourself, no greater misfortune than having an enemy, (page 210). Lao Tzu detests war and sees it as a shame to even take part of the hate that is involved with fighting. On the other hand, Machiavelli suggests that it is fit for a leader to show close to perfect fighting techniques on and off the battlefield. War is shown as a lesson of fortitude for leaders during his time, Machiavelli explains, Its institution, and its discipline; because that is the only profession which befits one who commands; and it is of such importance, (page 221). He later discusses, on page 222, how a leader must train in his free time to prepare and become the most powerful fighter of all the men by mentioning, and in peacetime he must train himself more than in time of war; this can be done in two ways: one by action, the other by the mind. One can conclude that Machiavelli defines a strong leader through both psychological warfare and hand to hand combat. He also sees war as a learning curve for the men who wish to become a leader; Machiavelli s understanding off a strong leader ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Identification And Identification Identification has two elements most people know and focus on the first; most companies are notoriously poor at the second. The first Identification element is, not surprisingly, to understand the characteristics of potential and current customers, as well as their influencers. This means delving into what needs they have, what motivates those needs, how they want those needs solved, and who else influences those needs and potential solutions. It also means looking beyond those presenting symptoms to the underlying problem that needs to be solved (even if the customer themselves doesn t recognize it). For example, many people will say that the need to own a car when what they actually need is transportation. And that broader need can be solved in many ways other than owning a car (bus, bike, taxi, Uber). The second Identification element described by Peppers and Rogers is to, link information about that customer across the company and throughout the duration of the customer s relationship with the firm. This is where I would argue that most companies have a long way to go to be successful. For example, the first step when calling many companies is to enter your customer ID/Social Security number/whatever on the telephone keypad . . . and then the first thing the person who (eventually!) answers the phone does is to ask you for the information you just entered! In addition, from personal experience, I have run into many situations where sales representatives ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Religion was more important than politics in the failure of King and Parliament to reach a settlement. 1646 1649 , Assess the validity of this statement. In January 1649, King Charles I was executed after being charged with high treason due to political and religious reasons, some of which contributed to his refusal in accepting the peace settlements given to him by Parliament. Charles refusal to compromise was supported by the division that had emerged within Parliament on how to fight the civil war between the Political Presbyterians and Political Independents. This was seen as important because the views of the religious radicals made settlements more difficult and furthermore increased the tension of division among those in the army and in parliament. The politicisation of the New Model Army also played a significant role in the failure to reach a settlement in the years 1646 to 1649 between Charles and Parliament. What made the army politicised was the concerns of their wages of £3 million in arrears and the possibility of being faced with the charges of committing offences from the First Civil War, as Parliament had not passed an indemnity act. The army presented Charles with the Heads of The Proposals in 1647, which links back to religious division in parliament, , under Cromwell and Ireton s influence, putting forward more stricter terms such as religious toleration was to be more effective to a wider degree and that the army was to be controlled by parliament for only ten years instead of twenty, making the army seem like a ... A predominant and consistent theme of honor and glory reside throughout the poem. The motivation for any Homeric Greek is glory, or Kleos , that is to be honored and respected among their people. Emphasis is put on living by the heroic code. Honor is essential to the Greeks and life would not be worth living without it. When a warrior or hero is advised to avoid risking their life in battle it almost drives them even further towards the deed. This became one of the centerpieces for the conflict between Achilleus and Agamemnon, when a quarrel arose and Achilleus was asked to allow Briseis, a prize that he won in battle, to go back to her land. It is common to keep your female prizes as your own; however, Achilleus felt that his ego was tested when he was asked to return her. These still large numbers especially when compared with there being only six major banks in Canada reflected the highly competitive nature of the U.S. banking industry as well as its regional focus. Bacillus Badius The Identification of Bacillus Badius [pic] Hannah Melanchuk Dr. Robert Suran May 1 2013 Microbiology Abstract Over a three week time span I was able to successfully identify an unknown microorganism by combining the results of several tests. With the results from the Gram stain I was able to follow the Unknown Identification Flowchart to the next step, which was to prepare for the Starch Hydrolysis Test by inoculating a starch plate. Starch is a polysaccharide made up of glucose molecules. Some bacteria have an enzyme called amylase which breaks starch down into glucose subunits. The Starch Hydrolysis test is used to determine the production of amylase. Iodine, which is the mordant used in Gram staining, is used in this test to detect the presence of starch. In order to do the Starch Hydrolysis Test I first inoculated a starch plate by using aseptic technique. I streaked the middle of the starch plate with the bacteria into a single line. Then, I let it incubate overnight at 37°C. In week 2, after I added several drops of Gram s iodine to the starch plate it was ready to be analyzed for starch hydrolysis. The iodine complexes with starch to form a blue black color in the culture. Clear halos surrounding colonies is the result of their ability to digest the starch due to the presence of amylase. With the results of the Starch Hydrolysis Test I preceded to the final test which is the Citrate Test. Using aseptic technique, I streaked the organism onto the surface of the Simmons citrate slant and let it incubate overnight at 37°C. The Citrate Test determines if the organism is able to ... Agile And Agile Software Development Agile Agile software development refers to a group of software development methodologies e.g. Dynamics System Development Model, Crystal Methods and Extreme programming (XP methodology). Agile methods attempt to minimise the risk in software in short time boxes called iterations. Every iteration includes all the tasks necessary to release the mini increment of new functionality: planning, requirements analysis, design coding, testing and documentation. At the end of every iteration the priorities will be evaluated. Agile methods emphasise real time communication, preferably face to face instead of written documents. Agile methods also emphasise working software as the primary measure of progress. Agile methods produce very little documentation compared to other methods. Most Agile teams are located in a bullpen and include all the people necessary to finish the software. Supply Chain Management Value Of Supply Chains Paper Heading: Supply Chain Management Value of Supply Chain Introduction: Supply chain management is a complex undertaking that must involve more than one organization s efforts to succeed. A tremendous amount of skill, time, and money must be present to build and develop relationships, discover and implement a strategy, and use the capabilities of the chain to build quality at an efficient financial rate. Allowing for these requirements, it leaves one to wonder whether supply chain management is a viable option. The answer is yes, because an organization needs a strong supply chain to compete and be profitable in the marketplace. The key points for supply chain management should be to meet customer demand, produce excellent customer value, enhance responsiveness to change, build a network that can resist risk, and develop financial success. Discussion: The simplest level of supply chain management is to make inventory readily available to meet customer demand. Without inventory, there is nothing available to draw customers in. Through their resources, organizations must meet supply with demand in a timely fashion. Supply chain partners should work together to increase resource productivity, develop standardized processes, and minimize the level of inventory. These steps will reduce an organization s waste, costs, and raise supply chain efficiency. Reducing supply chain expenses is always a top priority for companies. Even if this is the case, companies need to be aware of their employee s salaries to stay within their legal obligation. This is what Joe Black, the president of Acme Manufacturing, has discovered within his organization. Critical Factors The central dilemma for this case with Acme Manufacturing is the salary inequities for the female employees. There are concerns that these inequities were the result of gender discrimination based on the information provided by the current HR director and her belief of how the previous president felt about female employees at the company. Although this may be hearsay, the fact that there are inequities and rumors, it is still grounds for concern and further investigation by HR. Joe Black, the current President of the company, is looking for the best solution to resolve these concerns. Based on the job evaluation study performed by a compensation consultant, there is a concern that three female supervisors and the female HR director are underpaid relative to comparable male salaried employees. Now that this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Pso Algorithm Is Developed By The Social Behavior Patterns... 3.3 PSO PSO algorithm is developed by the social behavior patterns of the organisms that exist and interact within large groups. As, it converges at a faster rate than the global optimization algorithms, the PSO algorithm is applied for solving various optimization problems easily. In the PSO technique, a population called as a swarm of candidate solutions are encoded as particles in the search space. Initially, PSO begins with the random initialization of the population. These particles move iteratively through the D dimensional search space to search the optimal solutions, by updating the position of each particle. During the movement of the swarm, a vector Xi=(Xi1, Xi2,...., XiD) represents the current position of the particle i . Vi=(Vi1, Vi2,...., ViD) represents the velocity of the particle which is in the range of [−vmax, vmax]. The best previous position of a particle is denoted as personal best Pbest. The global best position obtained by the population is denoted as Gbest. The PSO searches for the optimal solution by updating the velocity and position of each particle, based on the Pbest and Gbest. The next position of the particle in the search space is calculated by using the new velocity value. This process is repeated for a fixed number of times or until a minimum error is achieved. The rate of the change in the velocity and position of the particle is given as v_id=v_id+c_1 r_1 (p_id x_id )+c_2 r_2 (p_gd x_id ) (3.1) x_id=x_id+v_id (3.2) Where c_1 ... • 42. Year 11 Creative Writing The raspy wind rises in swirls, encircling the entirety of my lean body. The parched, coarse sand scrapes across my angular face, burying and scraping itself into the warmth of fresh, open wounds. The sun scorches my skin raw, condemning the violence, the blood, and the screams that seem to echo all throughout the lifeless mountain side. Welcome to Afghanistan. Bitter laughter fills my head. Major James D. reporting for duty sir. White birds start chirping above me. General William P. enters. My battered right hand rises instinctively above my right brow in a salute and my left hand grasps the familiar metal in its possession tighter. Although the sand muffles the sound of the General s boots, the ascendancy in his disciplined strides remains steadfast as he makes his way towards his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Major, your target today is a small family consisting of a middle aged female, male, and a 10 year old boy. You will terminate them effectively after interrogation. Do you understand? I didn t. Yes, sir! I will interrogate them surrounding their disobedience to follow curfew protocols last night, sir! Good. You will exit in 5, 4, 3, 2... I leap, burning my palms on the concrete road, but the pain is subdued by the smell that pierces my nose. With my gun secured to my side, I enter the interrogation site that seems to reek of a metallic scent: a smell I know too well, the smell of blood. Do you or do you not understand that no one is to keep their lights on after 9:00 p.m? Silence. My hand, conditioned by this lifestyle, moves to deliver yet another slap across the man s face. The birds start chirping frantically. Answer me. Do you or do you not understand? I shoot their yelping little dog to make my point. The little boy who is holding the bleeding dog starts wailing and the mother goes hysteric. N..no listen to me, I don t know why you are doing this to us, but please let us go Jason.

  • 44. The Apology By Plato And Tao Te Ching Many decisions involve a considerable amount of contemplation and reasoning. These decisions include the ethical dilemmas we encounter every day on an individual and global scale, such as contemplating whether capital punishment is just or unjust. Ethics is often confused with factors that are not cohesive with our true self but that are induced from society. Ethics is not feelings, religion, science, or following the law and cultural norm. Ethics is, however, a set of moral behaviors that tell us what is right and wrong in different situations. Through writings such as The Apology by Plato and Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu we are can more clearly get a picture of what it means to be ethical and how to respond to ethical dilemmas. In Plato s The Apology, Socrates supports the fairness and justice ethical approach by recognizing that all equals must be treated equally. Socrates went in search of politicians, poets, and craftsmen; all people claiming to have a higher status and greater intelligence because of their skills. However, through cross examination he found that these men were not superior to the common man. In fact, he realized that believing one has a specialized type of knowledge actually limits human wisdom. We must realize that one person is not superior to another simply because of their occupation, education, race, or gender. No two people are the same; the politicians, poets, craftsmen, and the common man are all very different, but nonetheless, they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. The Demographic Transition Model Analysis In 2050, Argentina will be in stage four of the demographic transition model. This proposes that the population growth will be approach zero, and Argentina will sustain an unvarying population. Most of Europe, Japan, and the United States are perpetually in stage four. Argentina will then be considered a developed country with most people in the working age group, with a tumbling birth rate. This can be seen in the 2050 graph when the sides of the pyramid begin to straighten out or become inverted all together. Eventually in the future, as the birth rate maintains a steady decline and fewer children are being born, pronatalist policies will have to be put in motion. As the population becomes older, there will not be enough working ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Based on this rate, Argentina seems to have a good quality of living as well as a fair economic stature and education system. With a crude birth rate at 19 and a crude death rate at 8, it can be inferred that Argentina takes care of its elderly and helps young couples plan for their family. With this understanding of the rate of natural increase, one could look at Argentina s infant mortality rate as another positive demographic indicator. Infant mortality rate depicts the number of deaths of children less than one year of age per 1,000 births within a country. Argentina has an infant mortality rate of 11.7 based on the 2013 World Population Data Sheet, which is very low compared to the world average of 40 (9). Even though Argentina s infant mortality rate (IMR) is lower than the world s average, it is not as low as one may think when looking at their population of 41.3 million people. This means that nearly 826,000 babies under the age of one have died within their first year. On the other hand, the infant mortality rate of Argentina is much lower than the majority of Africa and parts of Asia, which suggests that Argentina has a sufficient healthcare and education system for women (2013 World Population Data Sheet, 9). If the infant mortality rate is high, which in Argentina s case it is not, it would be a good indicator that the country most likely lives in poverty and does not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. Thematic Essay Things Fall Apart Things Fall Apart Thematic Essay How could only a few people move into a village and tear it apart. This what happens in Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe. Okonkwo was famous and lived a good life in the village of Unoka until one day Europeans came and brought on Christianity. When this happens, Okonkwo must try to stop these men from disintegrating Ibo society. Social disintegration is an obvious theme in this book. Throughout the book Chinua Achebe shows this theme through conflict, imager, and resolution. Conflict is seen throughout the story between the Europeans and the Ibo people. When describing what happened in the market at abame Obierika says, And they began to shoot. Everybody was killed, (Achebe 139). The conflict here is between the people of Abame and the Europeans This is the start of the social disintegration of the Ibo people. One of their villages had been destroyed and now the don t know how to deal with the power of the Europeans. You drove him to kill himself, (Achebe 208). Obierika wants the Commissioner to know that he has torn lives apart and ruined a once great clan.
