Grandchild Simon Bradstreet
In the poem On my dear grandchild Simon Bradstreet, by Anne Bradstreet she describes her feelings

The molecules are endogenous and exogenous ligands. This binding process is significant in
pathophysiology of sepsis. Endogenous is an infection that occurs internally. While exogenous is an
infection that developed from an outside factor.
The poster showed that mice with this receptor increased inflammation, decreased survival, and
increased bacterial organisms. Another thing that increased was the expression of SRA on monocytes
and macrophages. This means that SRA is binding more often to the negatively charged molecules in
the exogenous and endogenous molecules.
Flow cytometry was used to determine the SRA expression on the control group and the group that
they treated with LPS media. When treated with LPS, the expression increased. LPS is a TLR 4
ligand. They also mixed LPS and PAM3CSK4, which is TLR 2 ligand. When they mixed the two, the
expression was no different than the control cells.
The way they determined the mechanism that increased SRA expression was they treated the cell line
with media that stimulated toll like receptors which are the innate immune receptors in this case. This
is when they used the LPS media and the LPS/PAM3CSK4 media. Then the cells were stained with an

The Beauty Of Art And Human Expression
What is art? As a child most of us are taught to believe that anything can be art. That the beauty of art
and human expression is in the eye of the beholder. As we grow up we begin to understand that art is
more than a bunch of cluttered finger painted fingerprint Thanksgiving turkeys hanging on the fridge
or macaroni picture frames. We begin to understand that art in our native cultures has many functions.
Art serves as an expressive outlet for individuals to use as means to convey symbolism often times
religious, as means of identity and solidarity for groups, as educational tools, and as a means of
connecting with the supernatural. Art is a stimulation of any of the five senses with a reasonable
amount of trade or talent required. One of the first things I noticed when I started my first semester
here at BYU Idaho this fall was Mormons really love art . Walk down the halls of any building here on
campus and go no farther than five feet and you will find some type of art on display. The amount of
art we have here at Brigham Young University Idaho is truly unique to our culture and community and
compliments our religious loyalty.
Symbolic art is significant to BYU Idaho culture because of the religious affiliation and ties the
university has to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints and to LDS culture. Brigham Young
University Idaho is known and is prestigiously called a disciple leadership center. Due to the
homogeneous nature of both BYU I and LDS culture

Student Loans Cons
Student Loans
With the average student loan debt being almost $30,000 for people fresh out of college as of 2013, it
s no wonder that many high schoolers around the country are worried about whether they will be able
to pay off their student loans. Most are desperately trying to get scholarships and grants in order to try
and remove the burden that is student debt off their shoulders. Others are going to cheaper, local,
community colleges, whether temporarily or for their whole degree, in fear of these student loans.
Even those who try to reduce the amount of debt they get into after college will still find themselves
having to pay thousands in student loans. My friend had gone to Ivy Tech for two years to get his

asked if she had been worried about student loans in high school, she replied that she hadn t. However,
today, she still has over $5000 left to pay off in her loans. Sometimes I get stressed about student loans
today, she said. It would be easy if they could just go away. Today, the tuition of UVM is over $30,000
for Vermont residents and over 50 grand for out of state residents. Sean Callahan, a Senior at
Winooski High School, said that, when asked about if he was scared of student loans, out of 10, I d

Athletic scholarships are my last hope honestly, he said. And when asked if a school s tuition had a big

Guilt In Maus
How are the different characters in Maus affected by guilt? Discuss with reference to the text.
In the World of Maus, we see the types of guilt different characters experience throughout the graphic
novel. In many ways the relationship between Vladek and Art is the central topic of the book, and this
narrative deals extensively with feelings of guilt. Whether that is the impact on Art from Anja s death,
or the guilt Vladek felt as a survivor. Maus revolves around this relationship between past and present,
and the intergenerational effects of past events on Art Spiegelman. Art is living in the shadow of a
holocaust survivor never truly understanding.

something that can never leave Art. As well as this Artie could not help feeling responsible for her
actions. Art felt responsible for anything bad that happened to his father and that is why he was so
worried when Vladek read the comic after many years. For a very long time Artie did not know what
to do and could not live with himself. He had a sense of paranoia and felt that everything around him
was evil and everyone had bad intentions. Artie couldn t even depend on his dad for support; Vladek

Comparing Pyramus And A Midsummer Night s Dream
Pyramus and Thisbe is the story of forbidden love. Pyramus and Thisbe talk through a hole in the wall
that separates them. After realizing that the hole was not enough to satisfy them they decide to run
away. Similarly, Shakespeare s A Midsummer Nights Dream tells the tale of Hermia and Lysander,
two lovers, who find themselves running away into a forest to have a happy ending in their love story.
Both stories are comparable for the reason of forbidden love but the outcomes of the stories
differentiate them. Forbidden love encourages the longing for love. Both Pyramus and Thisbe and A
Midsummer Nights Dream tell the tale of lovers who run away so that they can be together. Pyramus
and Thisbe were talking through the hole in the wall when

Stereotypes Of Dracula In Bram Stoker s Dracula
Bleh Bleh Bleh What does the notorious bloodsucking Dracula have in common with the attractive
vampires that are shown in the movie Twilight? A lot actually, not only do they share the same name
of Vampire or Undead , they also share the same powers and needs. The vampire genre has gone a
long way, specifically with books like Bram Stoker s Dracula. It first started out as folklore and then it
turned into a popular topic of writing in early European culture. Bram Stoker then combined what he
could into one classic vampire that is widely known today. Even in today s modern generation, Bram
Stoker s widely known character Dracula continues to be used as the classic vampire that is an
example of a basis for the undead . In Bram Stoker s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Clarson makes a point of talking about the fangs being sharp, proving that it is a way to identify a
vampire such as the Count. This continues to persist throughout the genre, a vampire has the need for
blood so it turns to a victim and takes advantage of them, while also turning the victim into a vampire
as well. This shows that Bram Stoker has successfully created a stereotype of fangs that are used to
feed off the blood of victims that continues through this genre. There is something about burning red
eyes of a blood hungry undead that just manages to stick with the whole vampire stereotypes. Despite
not knowing that it was dracula, Jonathan Harker had met up with Dracula and had taken a lot of
acknowledgement to the dark fire like eyes of the Count. Jonathan describes the scene of him meeting
the count for the first time, I could only see the gleam of a pair of very bright eyes, which seemed red
in the lamplight, as he turned to us (Stoker 10). This proves that the eyes are a first expression that
comes to Harkers mind when he first sees the Count. The stereotype of vampires having red eyes is
probably one of the most known stereotypes when it comes to the undead and the vampire genre. The
burning red eyes show a sense of character in the vampires, giving them an evil quality that strikes
fear into those who look into them. Another

For the last several
years, the telecommunications industry and academia have been investing significant amounts of
research effort in fourth generation
(4G) Long Term Evolution (LTE) to provide higher data rates to end users by improving spectral
efficiency, deploying more base stations, and/or aggregating more spectra. While some of the LTE
enhancements, such as advanced multiple input multiple output (MIMO), Coordinated multipoint
(CoMP), heterogeneous networks (HetNets), and carrier aggregation (CA), deliver the additional
capacity needed to sustain the traffic surge for the next few years, none of them is seen as a viable
solution to support the hundreds of times more traffic demands foreseen in 2020 and beyond, the so
called 5G era[5]. However, it is expected that in 5G millions more base stations (BSs) with higher
functionality and billions more smart phones and devices with much higher data rates will be
connected.[6]. In 5G mobile communication it is expected to have the presence of higher traffic
volume, increased indoor or hotspot traffic, and higher energy [7]. The growth of wireless system
capacity ever since the invention of the radio right up to the present can be attributed to three main
factors: increase in the number of wireless infrastructure nodes, increased use of radio spectrum, and
improvement in link efficiency. These three ingredients continue to be the dominant drivers of
wireless capacity growth today [8]. As it is

A Soldier’s War
Up until World War I descriptions of war in America are confined primarily to generals account . . .
leaving much of the war s confusion and chaos to the imagination (Smith 11). American writers rarely
considered war as a viable literary subject, until Stephen Crane s civil war novel, The Red Badge of
Courage. Despite Crane having never been in a war zone his publication is considered among the first
to capture the potential of the battlefield as a literary backdrop. Further developing the war novel
genre, Ernest Hemingway adds what Smith describes as a journalistic style to a more modern skeptical
outlook on war. Just as Hemingway s work provides graphic detail of World War I, Tim O Brien s
novels [have] become the Vietnam ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One example of this is in the chapter On the Rainy River, when the narrator, also named Tim O
Brien,3 attempts to dodge the draft by heading to Canada. The novelist sates I never did any of these
things, but I thought about it . . . if I were to tell you the literal truth about that summer [it] would be
that I played a lot of golf and worried a lot about the draft. But that s a crummy story. It doesn t make
you feel anything (qtd. in Moore). Though On the Rainy River, is not real, the effect of the raw
emotion in the chapter is certainly authentic. Relying on the principle of eliciting emotion, O Brien
simplifies the foreign concept of war in the fabricated details of his narrative. In this way, O Brien
finds fiction is sometimes paradoxically more real than actuality. The Vietnam War, O Brien
proclaims, consists of contradictory truths: it can be argued, for instance, that war is grotesque . . . war
is also [beautiful] (O Brien 81). He further summarizes this paradox, asserting, war is nasty; war is
fun. War is thrilling; war is drudgery. War is what makes you a man; war makes you dead (O Brien
81). The contradictory relationship between fiction and actuality explored throughout the text both
reflects and expresses the reoccurring inconsistencies of the Vietnam War. As another means to
demonstrate the war s inherent

Response On The Sisters Brothers
The Sisters Brothers Novel Response
Throughout the novel, The Sisters Brothers by Patrick Dewitt, the two brothers, Eli and Charlie, are
shown as complete opposites in their personalities. This results in one being likable and the other
detestable.
Eli is a more likable character than Charlie since the reader has more access to Eli s emotions as the
story is written through Eli s eyes. The writer uses the first person point of view writing style to allow
the reader to gain an insight into Eli s thoughts. It also allows the reader to follow him through other
experiences he goes on without his brother. This writing style allows you to feel as if you are in Eli s
head. During their journey to California, Eli meets a woman who he fancies. They enter her room and
she beg[ins] looking at the door as if wishing to leave.

towards Eli. Charlie speaks of his brother as if he is childish and weak, however, this is not true, as

Star Wars Argumentative Essay
Under normal circumstances, when a fairly large franchise film is coming out, you could be forgiven
for forgetting about the accompanying video game that inevitably comes along with it. Ranging from
painful cash grabs to satisfying tie ins, film inspired games usually appear the afterthought of the
Hollywood marketing process. But Star Wars: the Force Awakens isn t a fairly large franchise film,
and these are by no means normal circumstances.
A little under a month ahead of what could quite possibly be the biggest cinematic release of all time,
we fans have not just a shameless tie in but a fully fledged reboot of one of the most loved franchises
in Star Wars enormous gaming catalogue. And while that may be as much a result of rose tinted

The Most Important Characteristics Of Giftedness
Although the history of humanity saw a huge amount of really great leaders who changed the world to
a better place, there were some bad leaders who caused big disaster for the universe too and they still
exist. We see these leaders everywhere. Presidents, team captains, religious leaders, CEOs, etc.
Basically, leaders are the ones who lead others. Actually, when we look at these leaders characters , we
can easily see most of them have gifted people characteristics. Because leadership is one of the most
important characteristics of giftedness. At this point, we can say gifted students are the possible future
leaders. Frankly, it is one of the main reasons that influence me to study gifted education. If the
educators know how to develop their leadership feature, and if they teach these children how to be a
good leader, it means we will see a better world in the future. Creating great leaders of the future for
more livable environments for everyone, this idea is my imagined as an educator. As you know I am
not teaching at anywhere right now. Because of that, I am just pretending like a teacher who is
teaching to 10 (5 male, 5 female) 4th grade gifted student. I would want to create a plan based on the
class president system. I would like to call it be own president before choose your president
Here are some main duties and specialties of the class president:

Backround Of The Study On Victims Of Stalking
Chapter One: Introduction
Backround of the Study Stalking, according to The National Institute of Justice, October, 2007, is
defined as
a crime of power and control, is conservatively defined as a course of conduct directed
to a specific person that involves repeated (two or more occasions) visual or physical
proximity, non consensual communication or verbal, written, or implied threats, or a
combination thereof that would cause a reasonable person fear . Stalking behaviors may
also include persistence patterns of leaving or sending the victim unwanted items or
presents that may range from seemingly romantic to bizarre, following or laying in wait
or the victim, damaging or threatening to damage the victims property, defaming the
victim character, or harassing the victim via the internet by posting by posting personal
information or spreading rumors about the victim. Stalking can be carried out by two
methods in person and electronic mechanisms (phone, fax, GPS, cameras, computer
spyware and the internet/social media). According to a National Institute of Justice
violence survey in 2007, 1 in 6 women and 1 in 19 men nationwide have been stalked
during their lifetime. For both females and males victims, stalking was often committed
by people they knew or with whom they had a relationship. Two thirds of the females
victims of stalking (66.2%) reported stalking by a current or former intimate partner and

Nursing Home
Management is in every type of organization; Although, the type of business the company is running
determines their manager s type, function, and role. In nursing homes to perform the Human
Resources Director Job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential
responsibility satisfactorily. These responsibilities include excellent supervising, multitasking, and
hiring skills.
First, a Human Resource Director most has excellent supervising skills. These managers are
responsible for supervising every single employee in the facility, and issuing warnings to ineffective
and inefficient employees. For example, tracking tardiness and absences by each employee in order to
reinforce professionalism in the nursing home. Also, supervising ... Show more content on

For instance, one of the selection tools you might considered while hiring personnel and/or staff
would probably start with the completing of the application. Being able to fill out an application tells
you mostly everything about someone. IN addition, It enables you to see if the individual can read,
and understand English. Also, checking their cover letter, resume, and references to find out if the
individual met the qualification the company is looking for. This will allow you to learn about their
previous works, education, and references from employers. After, an interview must be set up. By
giving an interview you get to meet the applicant, see their appearance, attitude, and enthusiasm.
In conclusion, all managers execute some of the same fundamental functions to ensure that their
business runs efficiently. The idea behind a Human Resource Director is assisting employees in the
direction of common goals. Human Resource Directors are a bridge between employees and
management, and there are a number of Human Resource skills and qualities which are important for
the success of a career in the professional field. These qualities of a good Human Resource Director
should always correspond with the three functions of management, those being supervising,

Harold And Maude Film Techniques
According to the film of Harold and Maude directed by Hal Ashby, there is a scene where both Harold
(a kid who thinks suicidal), along with his mother by the name Vivian are sitting down, not even
facing the same direction of each other. Vivian begins to ask back to back questions to Harold based
on the national computer dating services. During the scene, Harold looks straight ahead while his
mother is looking down at the form of questions she is constantly asking him. The whole time, Harold
does not say a word and his mother answers each question herself, as she would know her son s
answers. Harold slowly pulls out a handgun out of a case located on his lap. He then aims the gun
towards his mother and then aims the gun pointing his direction. Shortly after, he then pulls the
trigger, shooting himself in the head and falls back. After the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In the scene, they are wearing luxurious attire inside of an elegant setting. Harold was wearing a
dapper suit and tie, while the mother was wearing a nice dress with an appealing necklace and purse.
This would be the assumption they live a high class (ruling) lifestyle. Secondly, this scene shows the
ideology how negative Harold thinks of Vivian. Once he aimed the gun her way and kept it steady
with confidence, a viewer could easily tell Harold was fed up by his own mom. As most kids with
their parents, this shows an exaggeration of how they could feel when parents are annoying them
when they do not want to be bothered or dislike them as a whole. Lastly, an ideology that both works
and can be made out of the following scene is the dominant belief of Harold s attitude and emotions.
Things may not seem to be bad for a person if he or she lives at an upper level than majority of the
population. However, that does not mean being at a high peak of life defines a person s

The Tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School
I remember exactly where I was when I heard about the tragedy that occurred at Sandy Hook
Elementary School. I was walking through the common room and the TV was turned on to a news
station that was reporting what was happening at the school. I remember not being the only one who
was clearly upset at what occurred. There were also other students gathering around the TV watching
the TV waiting for updates and talking about what had happened. When I heard that Kaitlin Roig was
going to speak at Westfield I knew I had to go to hear her speak. I had to hear her speak because I
wanted to not only hear about her experience but I also knew that she would give helpful advice about
being a teacher. I want to be a teacher and I knew that I could use all the advice I could get not only
about how to be an excellent teacher but also about how the experience that her and many others went
through had an impact on their lives. As a result, I went to see her speak and I will never forget the
presentation that she gave to the Westfield community. I learned a lot from her presentation and there
were many things she said that were important to me. In addition, she taught the community about
how important empathy and social skills are in shaping the world. There were many topics that Mrs.
Roig talked about that meant a lot to me. The first thing that she said that was important to me was
that a teacher should be someone who makes a positive difference in the lives of his/her students

Damien Hirst s The On The Mind Of Someone Living
The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living is a piece that was created by the
artist Damien Hirst in the year 1992. In summary, it is a tiger shark that is preserved in a formaldehyde
solution in a case of glass and steel. The case is separated into three parts, which most likely is
because Hirst did not want the viewer to see and observe the piece as one whole dead shark. It is
thought that this steel casing breaks the continuity of the shark and therefore, becomes less
connectable as something familiar to the viewer. This shark is considered one of the most shocking
pieces of American art. This is because this shark, for many people, seems to be a direct representation
of death and is quite disturbing, and somewhat scary to look at, whether it be in person or in real life.
Therefore, the belief stands that this piece is more a form of science than a form of art. The artist of
the piece is Damien Hirst. Hirst is an English artist who was born in Bristol and moved to London
when he was 19 years old. Hirst was raised in a Catholic household, and even had an early religious
educational childhood. Later in his life, he pulls from this religious education as inspiration for his
works. He got his Bachelors of Arts in Fine Arts from Goldsmiths College in 1989, which he later
used to practice sculpture, painting, and drawing. After graduating, Hirst and his peers became part of
a group called the Young British Artists, and they would be known for

Passive Transport
The two big sections that all forms of cellular transportation fall into are passive transport and active
transport. Passive transport is the moving of material along a concentration gradient (a high
concentration to a low concentration). Passive transport requires no use of energy because there is
nothing that you need to use energy to work against. Active transport is the moving of material against
a concentration gradient (a low concentration to a high concentration). Active transport requires the
use of energy because the movement of the material is going against the flow.

The Pros And Cons Of Peer Pressure
Peer pressure is the influence that one person or group has on another. Peer pressure is a devastating
force that affects the lives of millions across the world. Most often, peer pressure receives a reputation
for being demeaning, harsh, brutal, and generally negative. However, peer pressure can inspire the
affected party to rise above the cruelty and positively impact their own lives. Yes, peer pressure may
negatively affect someone s life, but it may also change their life in a positive manner. Generally, peer
pressure receives a negative perception from all people, especially teenagers. As a person ages, they
begin to care less and less of their image, but in a person s early years of middle and high school is
when the most effort is put into their public portrayal. Negative peer pressure can be very demeaning,
and ruin a person s self esteem. Personally, I have been a victim of peer pressure. As a young boy, I
was in fact obese. I struggled with my eating habits and the result was an unathletic, nerdy,
unattractive boy. This image I had created for myself caused me a world of terror. Everyday, when at
school, I was the butt of the fat jokes and was excluded from most friend groups. My self confidence
hit rock bottom and I had zero faith I would overcome this obstacle. Now, even though I have
overcome obesity and become healthy, my past still haunts me. I am very shy and reserved, and I am
constantly worried about my image and how people view me. Although this peer

Summary Of Tim Winton s Short Story Big World
Discovery of self may be a common process that can improve and deepen understanding of the
individuals and the world around them. It is through these new understandings that individuals are
able to both reunite with themselves and the wider society. This concept is presented clearly in the
poem The door by Miroslav Holub representing that change in self involves taking chances and
opportunities and the positive consequences of change. Holub conveys change as an individual s
commitment to take new opportunities presented to them, resulting in a new perspective of life. The
short story Big world by Tim Winton reveals that self exploration and the substantial growth and
development happen through findings that contain experiences, which challenge ... Show more

The short story Big world by Winton emphasizes the intention that there are moments, people, times
and places that can change how individuals view the world around them and how the perceive
themselves. Much like the protagonist s experience in the film Life of Pi , so does Winton s
protagonists in the short story display final epiphany come as a outcome of his loneliness. He is
isolated because of the plot twist made by Meg, who in the story builds a connection with his best
friend, Biggie while they are on a road trip. It is through his segregation and observing them that he
then realises and notices a ominous truth about himself and the relationship he has with Biggie: ... he s
enjoying being brighter than her...it s me all over. It s how I am with him and its not pretty. Through
this, the protagonist suffers, realising the detrimental and unproductive environment of his
relationship. This epiphany leads him to become even more secluded and alert that he must move on if
he is to find and discover joy and progress. The story also reconnoitres the idea of change of self and
attitudes towards others, where moments can express a person s perspective towards others around
them and life. This statement is accurate as the narrator comes to terms with his attachment with
Biggie, that s how it started. A single decisive

Mission Trip Narrative
(The last suitcase was shoved into the back of the bus, and our next stop would be Winchester,
Virginia.) My youth group and I were headed to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for a mission trip. We
would be involved with a program called P 2 mission, which partnered us with a local church, Calvary
Christian. During the day we would be doing street outreach and during the night we would be hosting
a Vacation Bible School. There was an urgency to have this church up and running because the
community around it was crumbling. The church itself was located in a shanty town. Violence was on
the rise and the community was in desperate need of a strong foundation. The corruption was
spreading so rapidly that the church s basketball court was becoming a place where sexual predators
would prey on young children. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Our bus broke down, our hotel rooms were given away, we had no air conditioning for a majority of
the trip, and what we thought would take us 11 hours ended up taking 26. We finally arrive at the
school, where we would be sleeping for the remainder of the week. We stepped foot off the bus and
we were immediately aghast at how sweltering the air was. Apparently, Philadelphia was in the midst
of a heat wave, bringing in record highest of 105F. After such a long journey the feeling of failure was
weighing upon us. At the end of the day we were all exhausted and ready to fall into a deep slumber.
Then we realized our room, just like the bus, had no air conditioning. We lay there sweating against
the plastic filled air mattress dreading the proceeding day when we would be hiking the melting streets

Biometric Security Technology Essay
Biometric Security Technology
You have seen biometric technology in the films Mission: Impossible and Gattaca. The technology has
also graced the covers of many weekly news magazines. But many people, even though the
technology has been widely talked about for the last half decade, are still surprisingly unaware of what
biometrics are and why the technology is so important for computer security and personal
identification.
Biometrics are automated methods of recognizing a person based on a physical or behavioral
characteristic (2001). Essentially, biometric security technologies are used to accurately identify
individuals on a unique trait. The most common biometric security techniques used currently are:

How Biometric Security Technology Works One of the most important ways that biometric
technology is impacting security lies within the confines of computer information systems. The
government, the military, and large corporations need to have complete assurance that the data and
information stored on their networks and databases are only available to users who have been
authorized to view such material.
Biometric technology offers an alternative to the most used system currently in place in most
operations: passwords or personal identification numbers (PIN). Instead of users inputting their
password or PIN, users interact with a computer terminal that will scan their finger, face, voice, retina,
etc. to identify them. Many of the next generation personal computer systems will have integrated
biometric technology so that no external hardware is needed. In the mean time, users can buy small
peripherals, like a mouse with integrated biometric technology or a small finger terminal for finger
scans, to secure their personal computers.
Advantages of Biometric Security Technology Improved accuracy and improved convenience are two
of the biggest benefits of biometric technology for personal identification. First, unlike passwords or
PIN numbers, which can be used by anyone who knows the required information, biometrics looks at

The Negative Effects Of Pornography
With the surge of wider spread accessibility to the internet on mobile phones and laptops comes a
surge in the accessibility and viewing of pornography. Much research has been done to study how
such an increase in pornography consumption is impacting the marriage relationship. Some findings
have indicated that users incur serious negative effects, including a 25% higher divorce rate, are 101%
more likely to be unfaithful to a spouse, and were 12% less likely to describe their marriage as very
happy (Doran Price, 2014). Interestingly, various studies have also noted that the effects may be
different for men than they are for women, stating that for women who viewed pornography in ranges
between 2 3 times a month and once a day or more, their marital quality was actually higher than
those who never viewed pornography... (Perry, 2017). Considering such contradictory findings, it can
be difficult for couples to know how pornography use plays into a healthy marriage, if it does at all.
Pornography use, at the very least, has been shown to create conflict and stress between spouses if the
non using partner is more religious or has negative views surrounding pornography. Is has also been
linked with lower self esteem in women. The affects of this activity must be viewed not only through
an individual lens, but through a couple s view. Taking such a view may reveal that regardless of the
empirical outcomes of porn use, perceptions, even, can have a serious negative impact

Nonverbal Communication Involves The Processes Of Encoding...
Nonverbal communication involves the processes of encoding and decoding. Encoding is the act of
generating the information such as facial expressions, gestures, and postures. Decoding is the
interpretation of information from received sensations from previous experiences. Nonverbal
communication between people is communication through sending and receiving wordless cues.
It includes the use of visual cues such as body language, distance and physical
environments/appearance and of touch. It can also include chronemics and oculesics. Even eye contact
and the actions of looking while talking and listening, frequency of glances, patterns of fixation, pupil
dilation, and of course blink rate.
Just as speech contains nonverbal elements known as paralanguage, including voice quality, rate,
pitch, volume, and speaking style, as well as prosodic features such as rhythm, intonation, and stress,
so written texts have nonverbal elements such as handwriting style, spatial arrangement of words, or
the physical layout of a page. However, much of the study of nonverbal communication has focused
on interaction between individuals, where it can be classified into three principal areas: environmental
conditions where communication takes place, physical characteristics of the communicators, and
behaviors of communicators during interaction. Only a small percentage of the brain processes verbal
communication. As infants, nonverbal communication is learned from social emotional
communication,

The Feminist Theory Essays
Feminists rely chiefly on the contention that the traditional analysis of world politics is fundamentally
gendered. Gender sensitive analysis begins with the premise that societal institutions are made by
humans and are therefore changeable by humans. Feminists systematically deconstruct the notions
traditionally held by realists and taken for granted as how the world works.
Gender sensitive analysis takes many factors into consideration that the realist does not. As history
dictates, the world, both in the domestic and international scenes, has been predominantly ruled by
men. Women have historically been almost entirely excluded from policy making positions throughout
the world. Until recently there have been almost no women ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Through gendered analysis, i.e. without taking into consideration those qualities we have come to
categorize as feminine , traditional realist theory has ignored what may well be a fundamental aspect
of human nature.
Feminist theory questions the traditional Waltzian levels of analysis. They contend that the individual,
the state and the international system are arbitrarily determined and are not discrete levels of analysis.
They hold that they are, in fact, mutually reinforcing constructs, each based on behaviors associated
with hegemonic masculinity (Tickner, 131).
Feminists attack what some have termed economic man and political man . These figures, constructed
out of masculine characteristics, have been defined by autonomy, independence, power over relations,
and an instrumental notion of reality (Tickner, 131). These constructs have become an integral part of
the traditional analysis of world politics. Feminists attempt to deconstruct these (traditionally) highly
valued notions by contending that there are other human characteristics, such as the desire for
community, interdependence, and cooperation that define human nature as much as the traditional.
Some feminists argue that male dominated foreign policy making marginalizes the importance of
individuals and their families in the name of an abstract conception of the national interest (True, 121).

The molecules are endogenous and exogenous ligands. This binding process is significant in pathophysiology of sepsis. Endogenous is an infection that occurs internally. While exogenous is an infection that developed from an outside factor. The poster showed that mice with this receptor increased inflammation, decreased survival, and increased bacterial organisms. Another thing that increased was the expression of SRA on monocytes and macrophages. This means that SRA is binding more often to the negatively charged molecules in the exogenous and endogenous molecules. Flow cytometry was used to determine the SRA expression on the control group and the group that they treated with LPS media. When treated with LPS, the expression increased. LPS is a TLR 4 ligand. They also mixed LPS and PAM3CSK4, which is TLR 2 ligand. When they mixed the two, the expression was no different than the control cells. The way they determined the mechanism that increased SRA expression was they treated the cell line with media that stimulated toll like receptors which are the innate immune receptors in this case. This is when they used the LPS media and the LPS/PAM3CSK4 media. Then the cells were stained with an SRA ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Beauty Of Art And Human Expression What is art? As a child most of us are taught to believe that anything can be art. That the beauty of art and human expression is in the eye of the beholder. As we grow up we begin to understand that art is more than a bunch of cluttered finger painted fingerprint Thanksgiving turkeys hanging on the fridge or macaroni picture frames. We begin to understand that art in our native cultures has many functions. Art serves as an expressive outlet for individuals to use as means to convey symbolism often times religious, as means of identity and solidarity for groups, as educational tools, and as a means of connecting with the supernatural. Art is a stimulation of any of the five senses with a reasonable amount of trade or talent required. One of the first things I noticed when I started my first semester here at BYU Idaho this fall was Mormons really love art . Walk down the halls of any building here on campus and go no farther than five feet and you will find some type of art on display. The amount of art we have here at Brigham Young University Idaho is truly unique to our culture and community and compliments our religious loyalty. Symbolic art is significant to BYU Idaho culture because of the religious affiliation and ties the university has to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints and to LDS culture. Brigham Young University Idaho is known and is prestigiously called a disciple leadership center. Due to the homogeneous nature of both BYU I and LDS culture ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Student Loans Cons Student Loans With the average student loan debt being almost $30,000 for people fresh out of college as of 2013, it s no wonder that many high schoolers around the country are worried about whether they will be able to pay off their student loans. Most are desperately trying to get scholarships and grants in order to try and remove the burden that is student debt off their shoulders. Others are going to cheaper, local, community colleges, whether temporarily or for their whole degree, in fear of these student loans. Even those who try to reduce the amount of debt they get into after college will still find themselves having to pay thousands in student loans. Almasa Kostic, a graduate of the University of Vermont, is still facing student loans even five years after her graduation. When asked if she had been worried about student loans in high school, she replied that she hadn t. However, today, she still has over $5000 left to pay off in her loans. Sometimes I get stressed about student loans today, she said. It would be easy if they could just go away. Today, the tuition of UVM is over $30,000 for Vermont residents and over 50 grand for out of state residents. Sean Callahan, a Senior at Winooski High School, said that, when asked about if he was scared of student loans, out of 10, I d say about a 75. He s still looking for scholarships but doesn t believe he would actually be eligible. Athletic scholarships are my last hope honestly, he said. And when asked if a school s tuition had a big effect in determining where he would go to college, Sean said, It does have an effect, so I had to alter my options a little. but because out of state tuition is more expensive, I m staying in state. • 6. Guilt In Maus How are the different characters in Maus affected by guilt? Discuss with reference to the text. In the World of Maus, we see the types of guilt different characters experience throughout the graphic novel. In many ways the relationship between Vladek and Art is the central topic of the book, and this narrative deals extensively with feelings of guilt. Whether that is the impact on Art from Anja s death, or the guilt Vladek felt as a survivor. Maus revolves around this relationship between past and present, and the intergenerational effects of past events on Art Spiegelman. Art felt responsible for anything bad that happened to his father and that is why he was so worried when Vladek read the comic after many years. For a very long time Artie did not know what to do and could not live with himself. He had a sense of paranoia and felt that everything around him was evil and everyone had bad intentions. After realizing that the hole was not enough to satisfy them they decide to run away. Similarly, Shakespeare s A Midsummer Nights Dream tells the tale of Hermia and Lysander, two lovers, who find themselves running away into a forest to have a happy ending in their love story. • 9. Stereotypes Of Dracula In Bram Stoker s Dracula Bleh Bleh Bleh What does the notorious bloodsucking Dracula have in common with the attractive vampires that are shown in the movie Twilight? A lot actually, not only do they share the same name of Vampire or Undead , they also share the same powers and needs. The vampire genre has gone a long way, specifically with books like Bram Stoker s Dracula. It first started out as folklore and then it turned into a popular topic of writing in early European culture. Bram Stoker then combined what he could into one classic vampire that is widely known today. Even in today s modern generation, Bram Stoker s widely known character Dracula continues to be used as the classic vampire that is an example of a basis for the undead . In Bram Stoker s ... This continues to persist throughout the genre, a vampire has the need for blood so it turns to a victim and takes advantage of them, while also turning the victim into a vampire as well. This shows that Bram Stoker has successfully created a stereotype of fangs that are used to feed off the blood of victims that continues through this genre. There is something about burning red eyes of a blood hungry undead that just manages to stick with the whole vampire stereotypes. Despite not knowing that it was dracula, Jonathan Harker had met up with Dracula and had taken a lot of acknowledgement to the dark fire like eyes of the Count. Jonathan describes the scene of him meeting the count for the first time, I could only see the gleam of a pair of very bright eyes, which seemed red in the lamplight, as he turned to us (Stoker 10). This proves that the eyes are a first expression that comes to Harkers mind when he first sees the Count. The stereotype of vampires having red eyes is probably one of the most known stereotypes when it comes to the undead and the vampire genre. The burning red eyes show a sense of character in the vampires, giving them an evil quality that strikes fear into those who look into them. Another ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For the last several years, the telecommunications industry and academia have been investing significant amounts of research effort in fourth generation (4G) Long Term Evolution (LTE) to provide higher data rates to end users by improving spectral efficiency, deploying more base stations, and/or aggregating more spectra. While some of the LTE enhancements, such as advanced multiple input multiple output (MIMO), Coordinated multipoint (CoMP), heterogeneous networks (HetNets), and carrier aggregation (CA), deliver the additional capacity needed to sustain the traffic surge for the next few years, none of them is seen as a viable solution to support the hundreds of times more traffic demands foreseen in 2020 and beyond, the so called 5G era[5]. However, it is expected that in 5G millions more base stations (BSs) with higher functionality and billions more smart phones and devices with much higher data rates will be connected.[6]. In 5G mobile communication it is expected to have the presence of higher traffic volume, increased indoor or hotspot traffic, and higher energy [7]. The growth of wireless system capacity ever since the invention of the radio right up to the present can be attributed to three main factors: increase in the number of wireless infrastructure nodes, increased use of radio spectrum, and improvement in link efficiency. These three ingredients continue to be the dominant drivers of wireless capacity growth today [8]. As it is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. A Soldier’s War Up until World War I descriptions of war in America are confined primarily to generals account . . . leaving much of the war s confusion and chaos to the imagination (Smith 11). American writers rarely considered war as a viable literary subject, until Stephen Crane s civil war novel, The Red Badge of Courage. Despite Crane having never been in a war zone his publication is considered among the first to capture the potential of the battlefield as a literary backdrop. Further developing the war novel genre, Ernest Hemingway adds what Smith describes as a journalistic style to a more modern skeptical outlook on war. Just as Hemingway s work provides graphic detail of World War I, Tim O Brien s novels [have] become the Vietnam ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One example of this is in the chapter On the Rainy River, when the narrator, also named Tim O Brien,3 attempts to dodge the draft by heading to Canada. The novelist sates I never did any of these things, but I thought about it . . . if I were to tell you the literal truth about that summer [it] would be that I played a lot of golf and worried a lot about the draft. But that s a crummy story. It doesn t make you feel anything (qtd. in Moore). Though On the Rainy River, is not real, the effect of the raw emotion in the chapter is certainly authentic. Relying on the principle of eliciting emotion, O Brien simplifies the foreign concept of war in the fabricated details of his narrative. In this way, O Brien finds fiction is sometimes paradoxically more real than actuality. The Vietnam War, O Brien proclaims, consists of contradictory truths: it can be argued, for instance, that war is grotesque . . . war is also [beautiful] (O Brien 81). He further summarizes this paradox, asserting, war is nasty; war is fun. War is thrilling; war is drudgery. War is what makes you a man; war makes you dead (O Brien 81). The contradictory relationship between fiction and actuality explored throughout the text both reflects and expresses the reoccurring inconsistencies of the Vietnam War. As another means to demonstrate the war s inherent ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Response On The Sisters Brothers The Sisters Brothers Novel Response Throughout the novel, The Sisters Brothers by Patrick Dewitt, the two brothers, Eli and Charlie, are shown as complete opposites in their personalities. This results in one being likable and the other detestable. Eli is a more likable character than Charlie since the reader has more access to Eli s emotions as the story is written through Eli s eyes. The writer uses the first person point of view writing style to allow the reader to gain an insight into Eli s thoughts. It also allows the reader to follow him through other experiences he goes on without his brother. This writing style allows you to feel as if you are in Eli s head. But Star Wars: the Force Awakens isn t a fairly large franchise film, and these are by no means normal circumstances. A little under a month ahead of what could quite possibly be the biggest cinematic release of all time, we fans have not just a shameless tie in but a fully fledged reboot of one of the most loved franchises in Star Wars enormous gaming catalogue. • 27. Damien Hirst s The On The Mind Of Someone Living The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living is a piece that was created by the artist Damien Hirst in the year 1992. In summary, it is a tiger shark that is preserved in a formaldehyde solution in a case of glass and steel. The case is separated into three parts, which most likely is because Hirst did not want the viewer to see and observe the piece as one whole dead shark. It is thought that this steel casing breaks the continuity of the shark and therefore, becomes less connectable as something familiar to the viewer. This shark is considered one of the most shocking pieces of American art. This is because this shark, for many people, seems to be a direct representation of death and is quite disturbing, and somewhat scary to look at, whether it be in person or in real life. Therefore, the belief stands that this piece is more a form of science than a form of art. The artist of the piece is Damien Hirst. Hirst is an English artist who was born in Bristol and moved to London when he was 19 years old. Hirst was raised in a Catholic household, and even had an early religious educational childhood. Later in his life, he pulls from this religious education as inspiration for his works. How Biometric Security Technology Works One of the most important ways that biometric technology is impacting security lies within the confines of computer information systems. The government, the military, and large corporations need to have complete assurance that the data and information stored on their networks and databases are only available to users who have been authorized to view such material. Biometric technology offers an alternative to the most used system currently in place in most operations: passwords or personal identification numbers (PIN). Instead of users inputting their password or PIN, users interact with a computer terminal that will scan their finger, face, voice, retina, etc. to identify them. Many of the next generation personal computer systems will have integrated biometric technology so that no external hardware is needed. In the mean time, users can buy small peripherals, like a mouse with integrated biometric technology or a small finger terminal for finger scans, to secure their personal computers. Much research has been done to study how such an increase in pornography consumption is impacting the marriage relationship. Some findings have indicated that users incur serious negative effects, including a 25% higher divorce rate, are 101% more likely to be unfaithful to a spouse, and were 12% less likely to describe their marriage as very happy (Doran Price, 2014). Interestingly, various studies have also noted that the effects may be different for men than they are for women, stating that for women who viewed pornography in ranges between 2 3 times a month and once a day or more, their marital quality was actually higher than those who never viewed pornography... (Perry, 2017). Considering such contradictory findings, it can be difficult for couples to know how pornography use plays into a healthy marriage, if it does at all. Pornography use, at the very least, has been shown to create conflict and stress between spouses if the non using partner is more religious or has negative views surrounding pornography. Is has also been linked with lower self esteem in women. The affects of this activity must be viewed not only through an individual lens, but through a couple s view. However, much of the study of nonverbal communication has focused on interaction between individuals, where it can be classified into three principal areas: environmental conditions where communication takes place, physical characteristics of the communicators, and behaviors of communicators during interaction.
