The Debate About The Gun Laws
In the present day, firearm violence has increased significantly in various parts in the USA.
Now, it is not new to our ear that there is a ton of cases with children and teenagers involving
gun shooting or being arrested in the crossfire. The debate about the gun laws has set, become
one of the most controversial topics in US society and failing to dead end. Increasing of lives
being affected by this killing machine , the concerns arise with the highest ever as how to prevent
the danger of gun while there are millions of them in the market places. It is a tragic to know that
someone is affected by guns almost everyday in news from either hometown or in another part of
the country. By the consequence of guns, they should be illegal in American society rather than
using self defense to protect people, not as weapons to take other s lives because of the increasing
of riskiness, lack of capability of smart guns and inefficient ideas of micromanagement.
First of all, legal guns in public could increase the violent and danger more than ever. It has been
said that freedom of using guns are a part of US liberty. However, many people misunderstand or
underestimate the harmful and dangerous by guns and they may become victims by hasty decision
and put themselves or even their family at risk. Gun violence has taken so many Americans lives
that this country is falling in crimes committed with guns. According to Judson Robinson from

Argumentative Essay On Hypnotism
Hypnotism is defined as a state of consciousness where a person loses power over their actions.
Hypnosis is used in multiple kinds of therapy. In psychotherapy, it can be used to treat conditions
more effectively. When hypnosis is used on top of psychotherapy to treat disorders such as
obesity, insomnia, anxiety, and hypertension, it is more effective than doing just therapy in over
half of the cases. But, it isn t known how effective hypnosis is for disorders such as
dermatological issues or irritable bowel syndrome. (Soundview Prep). Hypnosis has so far been
shown as effective in easing pain. This includes the extreme pains of cancer, labor, bone marrow

There are three major theories in hypnotism. One is that hypnotizability is affected by a person s
desire to be hypnotized. If someone wants to be hypnotized by the person, then they will be more
likely to be hypnotized. The second is that hypnotizability is affected by how suggestible someone
is. If they are open to suggestions then they will be more likely to be hypnotized. The third is that
hypnotism is another state of consciousness they are not conscious and are blindly just following
any request made to them. These are the three main theories that are the most meaningful. Evidence
has shown that responsiveness to hypnosis may be hereditary. A study shows that identical twins
are more likely than fraternal twins to have similar levels of hypnotizability. All research shows that
personality characteristics do not affect hypnotizability. These include gullibility, aggressiveness or
passiveness, and imagination. But, the only trait so far known to link to hypnotizability is how
easily someone is absorbed by leisurely activities such as listening to

My American Dream Essay
The idea of the American Dream conveys a delight to anybody endeavoring to accomplish this
deception. For most of the population living in America, there is a feeling of working towards
being in a superior position than the present one they are in. The fantasy is distinctive for every
person, a few people dream brings energy towards themselves and their loved ones, as others
work for a superior living for a whole society. This is the thing that makes this idea so uncommon
and one of a kind, is that it doesn t bare down on only one objective, however extraordinary
objectives originating from every person. The road to success is not easy to navigate, but with
hard work, drive and passion, it s possible to achieve the American dream. (Tommy... Show more

something of themselves is often overseen by many. Nobody wants to leave their home, people
leave because of the necessities and their situation back home. That is their American Dream,
because they come to the United States in order to save themselves and their families back home. I
see Americans of every party, every background, every faith who believe that we are stronger
together: black, white, Latino, Asian, Native American; young, old; gay, straight; men, women,
folks with disabilities, all pledging allegiance under the same proud flag to this big, bold country
that we love. That s what I see. That s the America I know! (Barack Obama). Our disparities is the
thing that makes this country what it is, so by doing what it takes to make your American Dream
into a reality is the thing that makes you American. The feeling of triumph is an American
mentality, being better, improving the situation is the thing that most of the Americans live by.

Prevention And Prevention Of Measles
For many, many years measles rubeola has been one of the leading causes of disease around the
world. It has caused a great amount of sickness and fatalities in countries that do not have access

When travelers are round people that have this disease they are easily susceptible to catching it
and then bringing it back to their country and spreading it even more. Children are also at higher
risk for catching this disease than adults because parents chose to not vaccinate their children for
their own personal beliefs. People are in contact with multiple individuals on a daily basis. A
person infected with this virus can easily sneeze into the air and someone else can catch the
virus by inhalation of that same air. Anything from breathing an infected person s air to drinking
out of their glass can be a risk for catching the virus. The virus also can live on a surface for an
extended amount of time. If an individual is close to another individual with the virus, they are at
risk of catching the virus. It is so contagious that if one person has it, 90% of the people around
him or her will also become infected if they are not protected (CDC, 2016).
There are many symptoms caused by this disease. The main symptoms, like most diseases, are a
cold and fever. Soon after, it causes a cough, runny nose, and red eyes. Then a rash of tiny, red
spots breaks out. It starts at the head and spreads to the rest of the body (CDC, 2016). When being

Trading Eligible Emissions Units in the Carbon Market
Trading Eligible Emissions Units in the Carbon Market
Starting from the Kyoto protocol and culminating in the 2011 Durban agreement, world leaders
have put into motion, a coordinated effort to save the world through concerted actions by their
countries to reduce the carbon emissions. The reason for this agreement was the perspective that
the world will not survive at the rate of the present emissions. Hence, the World Congress is has no
option but to act strongly on these lines. The Kyoto protocol has extracted promises from the
member nations about the extent to which they will guarantee to reduce carbon emissions by the
year 2020. The experts are continuously calculating the impact of global warming on diverse
situations in life, while the businessmen are calculating how it will impact their strategies for the
future (Alen, D.S., 2012).
In this combined endeavor to address the problem of global warming, there is now this effort to
invest strongly on the green energy sources from the sun and the wind, etc., that can safely replace
the conventional source of power, without the exploitation of the carbon product, and thereby,
reduce the carbon emissions greatly. On the other hand, carbon footprints are also enhanced greatly
by the concerted effort of the member countries to increase their forests and agricultural areas.
From this was born carbon credit (Alen, D.S., 2012).

The Amusement Park Six Flags New England
The legendary amusement park Six Flags New England is situated in Western Massachusetts in the
city of Agawam, Massachusetts, and has been running since 1870. During this time, it was
originally an ordinary picnic with a cluster of trees named Gallup s Grove. Subsequently, the park
replaced its name with Riverside, and has had its name of Riverside for the majority of the entire
period of the 1900s. One famous event, known as The 1929 Wall Street Crash, then had an
unfortunate effect on the amusement park, and as a result, the amusement park shut down in 1939
after countless efforts to reestablish the amusement park. After the Wall Street Crash, Edward

misunderstandings to citizens.
Potential Market for marketing
Due to the unique nature of the association(as a self financed social enterprise), the potential market
for the association should not quite different to normal private companies/ profit making
organizations. The potential market for the association should be surely the seniors in need in the
community, but also the generous donors, volunteers, the media and even the Government. Their
support on the association will be of paramount importance to sustain the quality service provided to
the clients, such as the provision of necessary funding for daily operation, human resources, training
and guidance. (Hellinger, 1987)
Future Customers
The future customers of the association will not be likely to change much with the previous
customers. The association may still focus on the caring on the aged chronic patients, the elderly

Justice Through Environmental Cleanup
I belong to a proud people called the Ogoni people. The Ogoni people are a minority tribe that s in
the Southeast of Nigeria and they happen to own most of the vast oil reserves in Nigeria. Why does
this matter you ask? Well because they ve been economically exploited, suffered environmental
degradation and political marginalization in Nigeria for fighting for the right to self determine
their destiny and keep control of their resources. Shell, a oil company that was founded in 1907
when the Dutch company practiced unfriendly environmental practices while drilling oil where
people were living. This caused oil spills and polluted the water and land that was used to
produce fruits and vegetables. Nigeria also allowed these practices to go on because a lot of
Nigeria s wealth came from oil. The Nigerian government also supported the efforts of Shell to
get rid of the Ogoni so that they can continue to take the oil without any consequences. With the
help of Shell and the Nigerian government the Ogonis were forced to go out of Nigeria as exiles.
My dad came here as a refugee and I was born here. While many see that some parts of the world
are doing fairly well and operate in a democracy, I believe that we as a world community should
rally behind human rights and address the degradation and devastation that has plagued the Ogoni

As time goes on, citizens of this country become less knowledgeable about the world around us.
With more opportunities than ever before for the chance of wisdom, society does the opposite. The
super bowl commercial promoting Australia shows just how ignorant the American people are. The
commercial originally starts as a made up movie trailer. Later in the Advertisement, Hemsworth
claims the movie trailer is only an advertisement for Australia. Using this method of trickery, the
commercial grabs the attention of viewers through the idea of Hemsworth staring in a new movie.
Once the Advertisement has your attention, the commercial then promotes Australia. Not only is
this a genius move to promote the beaches, but the ignorance of viewers also played a role. The
majority of individuals fell for the tactic, and then laughed it off as if it was no big deal. However,
subconsciously what viewers thought as just a funny commercial actually promoted Australia
heavily. Creating a commercial that stands out helps with sales tremendously, and Australia figured
this out. Currently this nation deals with ignorance. The more knowledgeable American citizens
become, the less companies have control over the majority of the countries

The Architectural Feat Of The Palace Of Knossos
The Architectural Feat of the Palace of Knossos
The Minoan civilization that flourished on the island of Crete is best known for their recognizable
architecture and art which came about during the Bronze age. The center for administration and
economic growth for the island of Crete was confined within the Minoan Palace of Knossos.
Unfortunately, the extravagant beauty of the palace was only recently discovered when British
Archaeologist, Arthur Evans, starting excavated the site in 1900. Evans was the first to call the
ancient inhabitants of Crete Minoans. The complexity and the grandeur of the palace helps to
identify that Knossos was at one point in history the capital of Crete (Mark, 2010). According to
Greek mythology, architect Daedalus designed the palace of Knossos with great complexity. The
objective of Daedalus plan was to make the palace so complicated finding one s way out would
be an impossible task (Sakoulas). Other versions of the story state that Daedalus designed the
labyrinth, a maze like structure, with a double bladed ax which contained the Minotaur, a half man
half bull figure (Mark, 2010). Whatever the basis of the story may be, King Minos wanted to
ensure the secret to escaping be kept confidential. In order to do so, King Minos demanded
Daedalus and his son, Icarus, be held as prisoners in the palace. Being the clever man Daedalus
was, he anticipated the kings move. Daedalus installed two sets of wings for him and his son to
escape from the island.

Thirdly of the basic management of functions is leading and motivating. Working in a

Mass Destruction And Death In William Golding s Lord Of...
Humans kill. Whether it be animals, insects or people, humans kill. Human look at others and use
the justice system to try and fix what other humans have done and this is the way they are
punished. They are punished in a functioning society with rules and laws, but when all that is
stripped away what are you left with? Mass destruction and humans that kill. Lord of the Flies
published in 1954 and written by Nobel Prize winning author, William Golding, portrays the
violence and eradication of a functioning society through young boys stranded on an island.
Golding uses the symbol fire and forgetfulness of the need for it to develop the theme of the loss
of society and creation of uncivilized destruction. He uses the character Ralph as a connection to
the fire to imply the civilizationseen in the story.
Ralph as chief in the beginning of Lord of the Flies uses fire to fuel his main goal as a leader,
which is to get back home. He treats the fire as a necessity and one of the most important assets
of being on the island. Ralph uses the smoke from the fire as a safety net that keeps him
comfortable and with the hope of getting home. And we ll be responsible for keeping a lookout
too. If we see a ship out there...we ll put green branches on. Then there ll be more smoke (Golding
43). He emphasizes the need for the smoke as he sees this as one of the only ways that they will
ever be rescued. Ralph is seen to be still full of hope for life and escaping. He uses the symbol fire

Seedlings are very susceptible and important stage of plant life cycle (Grubb 1977). Because of
this a better understanding of how seedlings of individual species in a community perform under
changed environmental conditions relative to one another. It helps to explain the composition of
plant communities. In dry tropical environment, germination and growth occur within a limited
period of time. The environmental factor such as light , nutrients and moisture should be
favorable during this period (Khurana and Singh 2002). Most of the researches have been
conducted various studies on tree seedling growth of dry tropical species by focusing on
spatiotemporal pattern of seedling recruitment in response to disturbance events such as fire and
herbivory (Bond et al. 2001), or on consequences of seed characteristics for seedling demography
and growth such as dispersal mechanisms (Barot et al. 1999;Goheen et al. 2004) and seed size
(Khurana and Singh 2000). Seedlings establishment represents the most serious bottleneck to
successful tree recruitment in tropical grasslands and savannas (Prins and Van der Jeugd 1993;
Higgins et al. 2000; Loth et al. 2005; Wiegand et al. 2006; Van der Waal et al. 2009; van
Langevelde et al. 2011). Over the last few years there has also been increasing conformity that
disturbances (e.g., fire, herbivory, drought) substantially contribute to the stability and dynamics of
dry tropical forest largely through their influence on the demographics of seedlings and juvenile
trees (Bond et al. 2005; Wiegand et

Criminalization of Cyberbullying
As the effects of cyber bullying are becoming a growing problem, the criminalization of cyber
bullying is needed to prevent its harmful repercussions to the United States and serve as a
deterrent. Cyber bullying has become the 21st century version of bullying; it has extended
beyond the classroom and onto a virtual world that seems to have no real life effects. The world is
now able to bully someone in the comfort of his or her own home, at any given point, with the use
of technology. However, Cyber bullyingstill proves to have lasting impacts on the victimand it is

Threats of violence should also be reported to the police. Try to save all messages as evidence
(Hardcastle). Criminalization would give victims a method to stop the bullying. The issue is
here but not acknowledged as a problem deserving of consequence. If the law enforcement
agencies see that the society is focusing on the cyber bullying as a problem rather than just an
issue they would act upon it in a mannerly order to put a stop to it or prevent it from occurring on
a daily basis. However, by choosing to criminalize cyber bullying victims will be provided with a
way to stop the bullies from harassing them.
Cyber bullying laws are being created to make this destructive activity illegal. Threats are not
protected speech. Thus, cyber bullying isn t protected by the first amendment as freedom of
speech. Cyber bullying deprives people of their rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
According to research in as of June 2011, thirty states have passed bullying laws where cyber
bullying was included. Studies show that cyber bullying has influenced 50% of US teenagers.
Schools and organizations are required to create a bullying policy including cyber bullying, as long
as it is reported. Clear repercussions must be outlined. Schools require direction from the state
legislatures and education departments to draft policies that will hold up in court.
Although there isn t a specific target when it comes to cyber bullying, it tends to

The Pros And Reputations Of The Dalai Lama
Someone s reputation often depends on his work, behavior, and achievements. Reputation is the
opinion or beliefs that people generally have about a person based on his past. Some people see
the Dalai Lama as an evil person and the others see him as a kind and peaceful person. He has a
good reputation in the West. However, Chinese people hate him and accuse him of hypocrisy. So
the Dalai Lamahas two different reputations.
The Dalai Lama is the Tibetans political and spiritual leader. He is the most important leader in Tibet

The Postcolonial Writers May Not Achieve International...
Abstract : The postcolonial writers may not achieve international success unless they address
certain themes, or more established figures discover them, should be considered as well.
Mahasweta provides a fruitful example: Mahasweta is an intensive and a social alert writer who
showcases the rural realities as well as a broad narrative of the importance of the unprivileged or the
people living on the extreme. While Mahasweta originally written in her native Bengali language,
most of her works are translated into English and regional Indian languages. The credit for
translating her works into English for the first time goes to Gayatri Spivak, who had translated
Mahasweta s Draupadi in 1981 and Breast Giver (Stanadayini) in 1987. Since then many of her
stories have been translated into English by other scholarly translators, and until now about a dozen
translators have translated Mahasweta s stories into English, among whom the foremost are Spivak
and Bandyopadhyay. Mahasweta claims on translators capturing the spirit of her work, which to her
is more important than technical or even artistic perfection and she readily authorizes those
translations of her fiction that have been faithful to the spirit of her fiction. A very important aspect
of Mahasweta s text is spontaneity and capturing of sudden surge of thoughts which runs in the
mind of the characters. For instance, Spivak has translated the text Draupati thereby compromising

The Effects Of Hearing On Children With Disabilities
Christian Popoca According to the Americans with Disabilities Act, individuals with disabilities
include those who have impairments that substantially limit a major life activity, have a history or
record of a substantially limiting impairment, or are regarded as having a disability. Deaf people
are limited in some functions because of an impairment of hearing. The Center for Disease Control
and Prevention (CDC) reports deaf individuals do not hear well enough to rely on their hearing to
process speech and language; some individuals with mild to moderate hearing impairments may be
hard of hearing but are not deaf (U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission). More than 20

Goffman s (1963) understanding of stigma is the situation of persons who are unable to conform to
standards that society calls normal. Thus, has led to Deafness being a label for disqualification to
full social acceptance. This labelling entails a social judgment, with definition and meaning
contested and liable to vary over time and between societies and cultures (Exploring Disability).
Disabilities were seen as social problems as in a discrepancy between what is and what people
think ought to be. This idea shifted away from a medical model to the idea of disability as a form
of social deviance that focused on disability as a social status. In recent years, theorizing ideas such
as the socio political approach incorporate the understanding and priorities of disabled people.
While being deaf is considered by most to be a disability, others within the Deaf population have
different aspects of Deafness as simply being a member of a visual communication based
community rather than being a broken member of the community. With hearing assistive
technology helping bridge the communication gap for those with hearing loss and further
technology allowing them to communicate, many of those in the Deaf community have come to
accept themselves for the versions they are and simply found an alternate path through this journey
of life. The most widely recognized

Children Are An Important Part Of The Continuation Of...
Children are an important part of the continuation of humanity, both as a species and culturally.
However, there are few references, outside of the instances where laws in relation to orphans or
widows or introduced, that discuss children in the Old Testament. There are times where the birth
of a child is mentioned, as is the case when Eve bore Cain in Genesis 4.1. However, there is no
mention of his childhood. Rather, the story continues when he is an adult farmer. The New
Testament includes references to children other than as a reference to genealogy or to celebrate a
birth. These are very important to understanding the shift in tone from the previous books of the
Bible. In Matthew 18, the disciples ask Jesuswho the greatest in the kingdom of heaven will be
(18.1). He calls a child from among them before answering in the following verse. Before
examining the answer, it is work noting that children are present. It is easy to forget when reading
through the previous books that there are children, whether they are the patriarch s, a villager s, or
a servant s, that could be present in many of the scenes depicted. They are not mentioned because
their presence is unimportant to that particular tale. However, here they are important. So
important, that Jesus feels the need to bring one to him. It is also important to note that the text
only says that [h]e called a child (4.2). This child is not identified as male or female, the fact is
irrelevant to this particular story.

Abortion, Right, Public Policy, And Constitutional Law Essay
Abortion, Right to Life Abortion raises subtle problems for private conscience, public policy, and
constitutional law. Most of these problems are essentially philosophical, requiring a degree of
clarity about basic concepts that is seldom achieved in legislative debates and letters to newspapers
(Feinberg 1984: 1).
Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first
28 weeks of pregnancy. Abortion is a reality for many women in the Philippines, but many
consider it taboo. The Catholic Church regards it as mortal sin because taking another s life is
forbidden and life is a precious gift given by God. Since the first century the Church has affirmed
the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable.
Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the
moral law. John Calvin, a French theologian and pastor during the Protestant Reformation, states
that :
The fetus, though enclosed in the womb of its mother, is already a human being, and it is a
most monstrous crime to rob it of the life, which it has not yet begun to enjoy. If it seems more
horrible to kill a man in his own house than in a field, because a man s house is his place of most
secure refuge, it ought surely to be deemed more atrocious to destroy a fetus in the womb before it
has come to light. (Calvin, 1984)
Many women resort to abortion because they think that they

In order to contain communism they used the process of the domino theory. The domino theory

Compare And Contrast Hilo And Oahu
Wouldn t it be cool to walk in a lava tube where there once was liquid hot magma flowing through

wet and very dark. It was wet because when it rains it would absorb through the top and then
never evaporate because there is no sun. It was very cool when I walked through it because there
is nothing like that on Oahu. There are many similarities and difference about Hilo and Oahu. To
begin with, Oahu and Hilo have three main similarities which they are in the Pacific Ocean, have
lots of tourists, and have volcanic mountains. First, they are both in the Pacific Ocean because they

population is about 953,207 in 2010. Oahu has a bigger population because it is much older than
Hilo. Hilo is about 800,000 years old and Oahu is 2.2 3.8 million years old. Third, the

more urban because it is older and there was more time for the place to become more developed.

Steganography Vs. Digital Images
Steganography has been around since 1980 s. Various tools and software s are available for
Steganography as well as Steganalysis. The most common form of steganography is on digital

lot of approaches to detect steganographyin digital images. In this paper we will be looking at
many tools comprising from various digital domains but we fund that almost all of the tools had

1.Image steganography
Image steganography has gotten more popular press in recent years than other kinds of
steganography, possibly because of the massive use of electronic image information available
with the advent of digital cameras and high speed Internet distribution. Image steganography
often involves hiding information in the naturally occurring noise within the image and provides
a good artwork for such techniques. Most kinds of information contain some kind of noise.
Noise can be described as unwanted distortion of information within the signal. Within an audio
signal, the concept of noise is obvious. For images, however, noise generally refers to the
imperfections inherent in the process of rendering an analog picture as a digital image. For
example, the values of colors in the palette for a digital image will not only be the exact colors in
the real image and the distribution of these colors will be also be imperfect. The greater the number

Alpha Synuclein Protein
Degenerative diseases are due to aggregation of proteins within specific neurons. These proteins
are overproduced as a result of an overactive gene. This process interferes with normal cellular
function leading to multiple degenerative diseases and is a field that requires researchers to find
treatments.
The alpha synuclein protein is abundant in the brain and can be found also in other parts of the body.
In the brain, it is mainly found at the tips of neurons called the presynaptic terminals. Presynaptic
terminals release neurotransmitters which talk to neurons to perform normal brain function.
Though the function isn t clearly understood, it has been found to interact with dopamine
neurotransmitter (1) When alpha synculein aggregates, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When this gene is expressed, Tau protein is able to stabilize microtubules via two ways: isoforms
and phosphorylation. Isoforms are defined as having different variations of the same protein and
can be involved in alerting domains by deletion or creating shorter loops. In the brain, there are six
isoforms of tau protein that exist. They differ in either three or four binding domains in the c
terminal (carboxyl terminal) which helps to make microtubules stable. (3) These binding regions
have also been found to have a role in development and regulate function of microtubules in axon.
Phosphorylation is the addition of a phosphoryl compound which can turn protein enzymes on and
off which can change functions of cellular activity. Different processes can cause Tau
phosphorylation which results in activity of specific kinases and phosphatases towards serine and
threonine sites (3). This activity will influence how microtubules are assembled. With differences in
age, we will see different activation and deactivation of different tau proteins on microtubules

Euclid Was The Father Of Mathematicians
Euclid of Alexandria was a Greek mathematician most known for his groundbreaking work in
geometry and is often called the father of geometry. Most of Euclid s life is unknown, the public
mostly knows about Euclid through Proclus, who was the last major Greek philosopher. It is said
that Euclid was born around 365 B.C. in Alexandria, Egypt and lived until about 300 B.C.
According to Proclus Euclidtaught in Alexandria in the time of Ptolemy I Soter. Euclid is most
famous for his 13 volume book on geometry called The Elements. In the book he used his and
many other mathematicians theories to explain plane geometry (Books I VI), number theory
(Books VII IX), Phaenomena also known as Eudoxus s theory of irrational numbers (Book X),
and solid geometry (Books XI XIII). His book was used as the main textbook for teaching
mathematics until the later 19th or early 20th century. Proclus recalls a story of Euclid of when
Ptolemy 1 asked if there was a shorter path to learning geometry than Euclid s Elements, in which
Euclid replied, There is no royal road to geometry. Although previous Mathematicians discovered
many of the works in the book, Euclid was sill known for collecting, organizing, and proofing
geometric ideas that were already used as applied techniques. Several mathematicians, the
Elements are based on work from people like Eudoxus s, Thales, Hippocrates, Pythagoras, and
many more. We now know of his theories as Euclidean geometry , which consists of assuming a

Functionalism In The Basketball Game
I would like to start by saying the basketball game was great. That was the first game I attended
while here on exchange. Each of the theoretical perspectives were present in the game, and I was
absolutely amazed to see how theory applies to our everyday lives. Functionalism was present
because all of the players were interdependent on one another in order for the gameto run smoothly
and for them to win. They were each assigned a roll that required them to work as team. When
one player messed up or did not fulfill his or her role well another player had to step up and
adjust to keep the game going smooth. Before the game the coach tells the players the rules for the

coaches would be the people in control of the mode of production. The coaches pick the players
based on their ability to produce on the court. There is a shift in the modes of production when the
coach finds somebody that is more qualified for the position and find a player with a different

Italians Perception of the American West
When people think of the American West they get this dangerous, rich, savage like idea of what
it might be like. In reality the American West is very different in contrast to its perception.
Europe and more specifically Italy are a main source of this impractical view on the American
West. Many events throughout history have given Italy and the region of Europe this idea. The
American west is known for its media success in well known places like Hollywood that use mass
media productions like movies, and television shows to demonstrate this idea that the American
West is full of dangerous cowboys and fame and fortune. In the early mid 20th century a genre of
movie was produced called Spaghetti Western or Macaroni Western . These western films were an
important aspect to the views on the American West throughout history. The way that American
Westerns, American Authors and more broadly Hollywood itself, portrays the American West
through its media, and famous movies gives Italy the perception that the American West is an
intimidating place as well as one that people only dream of. In reality Hollywood was successful at
significantly altering what reality is actually like in the American West.

Taking a Look at Overpopulation
The world has a population of 7 billion people and is still rising at 2.5 people per second (). Africa
has 1,033 billion people as of 2011 () and also is on the rise. Recently the growth in population
has become more and more serious as the world is biophysically limited, though it is said that it
can provide for us all equally, the distribution of goods in very uneven. Even with this inequality
people continue to procreate as they see it as a God given right and so many families in Africa
contain from about 5 to 10 children in some cases. Traditional ways are also seen as a cause of
population growth, with men having as many as 10 wives. Our biggest cause of overpopulation
many have argued to be the lack of education, education on birth control, family planning and the
impacts on the environment caused by growth in population. This issue of overpopulation in
Africa has a huge impact on the country and its government to feed all these mouths, and often
they rely on foreign help from the northern better off continents, driving African countries into
debts they will never be able to pay off. The helping each other of countries, for example Ethiopia
receiving help in the form of money, food and even weapons from America, can be seen as the
centre of Garret Hardins life boat. As this aiding in almost all transactions is seen as a loss and

her virginitybelonged to God. Because St. Philomena would not accept his hand in marriage, he
forced guards to unclothe her and whip her. Thinking her wounds were irreparable, the guards
chained her up in a dungeon, assuming she would die. Philomena recovered with the help of... Show

Even though she rejected the emperor, she still treated and loved her neighbors as herself. In spite
the fact that she was tortured, she did not fight back, harm, or express any negativity towards
anyone.
Pray to Saint Philomena. Whatever you ask from her, She will obtain for you. Pope Gregory XVI.
St. Philomena is known as The Wonder Worker because she has listened to prayers and requests.
St. Philomena can help me in my day to day life by being an inspiration for me. She is a role
model because she was abused and killed at a young age for loving God unconditionally. She can
help me in my faith by looking up to her when i am having a hard time. St. Philomena did not
give up, even though she was tortured. I can grow in faith with the help of St. Philomena and God
by following their footsteps. I can follow their footsteps to be holy and faithful. In addition, I can
be like the both of them by resisting complaints, because they did not complain about what they
were facing throughout their struggles. I can be loyal to my family, friends, and God just like St.
Philomena was to God.
I chose St. Philomena because I relate to her since she is around my age. I also chose her
because when I was around eight years old my mom took me to a gift shop at Our Lady Of Peace
that had figurines, prayer books, bibles, rosaries, crucifixes, and other gifts supplies. When we
were there, I saw the statue of St. Philomena and I thought she was gorgeous.

Analysis Of 5 Reasons To Vote For Trump By Nicholas Kristof
hose to work on this article, 5 Reasons to Vote for Trump by Nicholas Kristof at the New York
Times, because I found interesting the fact that it uses satire. It gives 5 reason why one should
vote for Donald Trump, but they are reasons that are not ones that one would actually want in a
president, however, it gives outrages explanations to justify them. I believe this whole article in
general is biased. The title 5 Reasons to Vote for Trump makes one believe they will get 5 legit
reason as to why Trump should be president, as you start reading one realizes that they are reasons,
but not favorable ones. In this article the reporter is making subjective comments about a
presidential candidate, thus favoring their opponent. Words that came

Moore School Ballet Orchestra Analysis
On April thirteenth two thousand seventeen, I attend the Moores School Ballet Orchestra, directed
by Franz Anton Krager at the University of Houston. In this paper I would be discussing the music
fundamentals of each song selection of the event. It was comprised of Peter Ilych Tchalkovsky
Allegro Brillante Piano Concerto No.3, Op.75; Johann Strauss II Graduation Ball and Benjamin
Britten Brigade Matinees Musicales Op.24 and Soirees Musicales Op.9. The first composition
selection Allegro Brillante by Tchalkovsky it is very commonly used in ballets, as it allows the
ballerinas to show their incredible footwork in the 14 minute composition. Throughout the

Matinees musicales were written purposely as a ballet. In the beginning, it was a subito dynamic
which occurred in 5 intervals, followed by a happy/cheery like piano dynamic theme that
represented the march. This part the ballerinas showed a light but fast footwork. Throughout the
composition the beat was recurring to the movement before it and in some instances it mimic the
beat but in lower rather in a higher level. There were five movements in Matinees, the March,
noctume, waltz, pantomime and moto perpetuo. A moto perpetuo is another name for perpetuum
mobile which means a fast moving instrumental music that consists of mainly of notes that are of
equal length. Along with Benjamin Britten also included Soirees musicales, Op.9. Was a suite of
five movements beginning with the march, cansonetta, tirolese, bolero, tarantella; that came from
different parts of the musicales. The march was a grand subito with a fast tempo following the
canzonetta that was more ritantando of the rhythm and a lullaby timbre; tirolese was more of a
happy tone color and with 4 beat changes that range from high to low; bolero has that folk theme to
it and tarantella was a grand rhythm with triple meter. Britten had a sense of humor which explains

This paper will be based on the California Review Management study called Misunderstanding the
Nature of Company Performance: The Halo Effect and Other Business Delusions by Phil
Rosenzweig. The research processes that have been completed on business performances over
the years, and the strengths and weaknesses of the types of data used will be discussed. The

For this research, the companies researched were chosen based on the independent variable of
outcome success. When researching how operations and other factors affect a company s success,
the testing needs to include companies with different success levels. If the data are based only on
successful companies, there is not any comparison to show what they were doing differently to
make them successful. For example, all of the successful companies have an owner, but that is not
what makes them successful. All companies successful or not are owned by someone. The other
studies that Rosenzweig explains are 1994 Built to Last: Successful Habits of Visionary Companies
and 2001 Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap...and Other Don t. These studies
are considered more accurate on the basis of successful companies being compared to less
successful companies, but Rosenzweig points out a separate fault within. The latter cases did
extensive research, but the majority of the data came from publications and articles published by
journalists. Rosenzweig uses these to introduce the Halo Effect. He explains that these studies,
though they are more thorough with the samples, the data are based on highly on biased
information, instead of getting the raw data from the companies.

Integrating Wellness Into Anesthesia School, And Give...
integrate wellness into anesthesia school, and give large discounts towards massage (Chipas et al.,
2012, p. 53).
Coping Mechanisms used among SRNAs For centuries, humans have pondered diverse
mechanisms of how to effectively deal with stress. The typical clinical setting of a SRNA
consistently parallels the conditions that define a stressful environment. Dr. William Halstead, the
New York surgeon accredited with popularizing regional anesthesia in the United States, used
cocaine outside of the clinical setting as a method of coping with the rigorous stressors of his
career (McDonough, 1990). The stress resulting from the SRNA education along with the DNP
program can be a major source of psychological stress for the SRNA. According to McDonough
(1990), stress is an imbalance that seeks to be relieved (p. 195). McDonough (1990) found that
personalities and addictive tendencies of individuals caused some individuals to abuse drugs. A
survey was administered to 150 students to assess addictive personality traits. Results indicated that
anesthesia students had significantly higher scores in excitement seeking behaviors. McDonough
(1990) also suggested the creation of support system to aid students in finding effective coping
skills. Findings from this study provided the anesthesia literature with insight into substance abuse
among SRNAs. SRNAs develop various coping mechanisms to relieve stressors. Kless (1989)
studied the effectiveness of social support groups in reducing

The Disregard Of Human Life
The Disregard for Human Life Present in Wartime In Paul Rusesabagnia s, An Ordinary Man:
An Autobiography, he tells his story of working in a hotel and turning this hotel into a refuge for
over a thousand men, women, and children. He turned the hotel into a refuge to provide safety
for targeted groups during an ethnic cleansing. Rusesabagnia shows his view son genocide
during war, or the disregard for human life, by stating: A sad truth of human nature is that it is
hard to care for people when they are abstractions, hard to care when it is not you or somebody
close to you. Unless the world community can stop finding ways to dither in the face of this
monstrous threat to humanity those words Never Again will persist in being one of the most
abused phrases in the English language and one of the greatest lies of our time. As he possibly
implies by stating this, this quote conveys that war poses a disregard for human life through
differential belief systems concerning topics such as, racial, political, and religious groups; and,
this can be seen in literature relating to wars of all times. Although wars are all fought for reasons,
they all share a common theme of the disregard for human life. This common theme is experienced
through events like genocide or ethnic cleansings, and illustrate the extent that men will go to in
order to persecute others according to their beliefs. Through pictures from major events in World
War II, the vast disregard for life is shown by

Pulp Fiction Themes
Pulp Fiction (1994) is a mesmerizing, violent and entertaining movie. It has a bizarre cast of
characters, a nonlinear sequence of events and endless references to pop culture. The underlying
theme of the movie, however, deals with religion and the transformation of two characters: Jules
(Samuel L. Jackson) and Butch (Bruce Willis).
In the beginning of the film, Vincent (John Travolta) has returned from a stay in Amsterdam, and
the conversation between Jules and Vincent deals with what Big Macs and Quarter Pounders are
called in Europe. As the movie moves on, other references are the Fonz on Happy Days, Arnold
the Pig on Green Acres, the band Flock of Seagulls, Caine from Kung Fu, TV pilots, and other such

Jules always quotes this just before he kills someone. The point is that the passage refers to a
system of values and meaning by which one could lead one s life and make moral decisions.
However, that system has no connection with Jules s life and as he realizes later, the passage is
actually meaningless to him.
In addition to the pop references in the film, its dialogue on language is concerned with naming
things. What s a Big Mac called? What s a Quarter Pounder called? What s a Whopper called?
When Ringo (Tim Roth) calls the waitress garçon, she tells him: garçon means boy . When
Butch s girlfriend refers to his means of transportation as a motorcycle, he insists on correcting
her: It s not a motorcycle, it s a chopper. When a Hispanic cab driver, however, asks Butch what
his name means, he replies: This is America, honey; our names don t mean shit. The point is clear
that in the absence of any lasting ambition or value and meaning, our language no longer points to
anything beyond itself. To call something good or evil makes it so since there s no higher authority
or criteria by which one might judge such things. Jules quotes the Bible before his executions, but
he might as well be quoting the Fonz or Buddy Holly.
This absence of any kind of system for making value judgments, this lack of a larger meaning to
their lives, creates a

Glass Castle
As I read the Glass Castle, the way Rose Mary behaves, thinks and feels vary greatly and
differently throughout the memoir. The immediate question that pops up in my mind is to ask
whether Rose Mary carries some sort of mental illness. Fortunately, given the hints and traits that
are relevant to why Rose Mary lives like that in the memoir, we, the readers, are able to make
some diagnosis and assumptions on the kind of mental illness she may carry. To illustrate, one
distinctive example is when Rose Mary blames Jeannette for having the idea to accept welfare.
Once you go on welfare, it changes you. Even if you get off welfare, you never escape the stigma
that you were a charity case. (188). In my opinion, Rose Mary is being nonsense and... Show more

With all these being said, it s most likely that Rose Mary carries manic depression since she
potentially has something wrong with her ways of thinking and behaving. By definition, manic
depression is otherwise known as bipolar disorder in modern times. It is a brain disorder that
causes unusual shifts in mood, energy, behavior, thinking and the ability to carry out day to day
tasks. (Introduction: Bipolar Disorder) This overall definition clearly supports the argument
that Rose Mary carries bipolar disorder. Often times in the memoir, Rose Mary changes her
mind and mood about doing something very quickly without any foreshadow. This brief
explanation of bipolar disorder shows that Rose Mary possesses most of the traits of having
bipolar disorder. From a greater perspective, bipolar disorder has two very distinctive phases the
manic phase and depressive phase. During a manic phase, patients are often jumping quickly from
one idea to the next (Melinda and Jeanne), feeling energetic and having unrealistic beliefs about
one s abilities or powers (Melinda and Jeanne); during a depressive phase, patients are often feeling
hopeless, sad, empty (Melinda and Jeanne) or irritable and unable to

Analysis Of The Poem Little Red Cap Essay
13 English Literature.
3.8 Develop an informed understanding of literature and/or language using critical texts
TOPIC: To what extent does Carol Ann Duffy present a feminist perspective in the poem Little Red
Cap .
The history of women has been a history of silence. (Hillary Clinton, 1995, Beijing)
This powerful statement from Hillary Clinton underpins the injustices of female representation in
the past. This silence is evident in the Bible verse, Let your women keep silent in the churches, (I
Corinthians 14: 34 37) and Virginia Woolf s concept that Anon ... was often a woman[who could
not otherwise get the respect of male counterparts]. (Virginia Woolf, 1928, A Room of One s
Own. PAGE). These are only two examples of how females have been largely disempowered by
the male constraints of literature. In recent history feminists have deemed it necessary to research
the lost and forgotten females and retell history from a distinctly female perspective. This issue is
of significant concern to Carol Ann Duffy, the current Poet Laureate. Duffy subverts fairytales,
myths and historical stories to empower women, giving them a voice and allowing their stories to
be heard. This essay will argue that Carol Ann Duffy presents a feminist perspective in the poem
Little Red Cap .
The Poem Little Red Cap is based on the storyline of Little Red Riding Hood , originally titled Little
Red Cap. This initial story by Charles Perrault and later the Grimm Brothers was a cautionary

Advantages And Limitations Of Behaviourism
Learning had been widely discussed among the researchers. It had become the subject matter that
interests psychologists, educationists, scientists and came up with a number of learning theories.
There are many different theories that attempt to describe the learning process. The theorists came
out with some methods and approaches to be applied in the language teaching in the classroom.
Approaches consist of specific principles in the language teaching and to apply these approaches,
methods are needed which include various procedures and techniques. In this coursework, I would
discuss on two theories, methods and approaches, two of their strength and limitations. In addition,
I would further discuss on the implementation of one of the theories in the English language
classroom. 2.0 THEORY OF BEHAVIOURISM The behaviourism theory had its origin in the early
twentieth century. It was introduced by one of the most prominent psychologists in that era, B.F.
Skinner. There are several psychologists such as Thorndike, Pavlov and Watson believed that by
studying the animal s behavior, they could predict and explain... Show more content on

Cognitivists such as Noam Chomsky (1957) in psycholinguistics and by Bruner, Goodnow and

implied that learning is a dynamic process, complicated and multi faceted. According to Chomsky
(1957) in Ormrod (1990), human s mind are like a black box , it attempts to understands the way
information is received, assimilated, stored and recalled. The theory of cognitivism is beneficial as
it focuses on the students mental ability to think, analyze and organize knowledge. This theory

Organizational Data And Management System Essay
Abstract
Organizational data is increasingly prevalent due to the ease of collecting data from several sources.
Because so much data is now available and gathered, organizations must set a data management
system to clean then consolidate the data to give users clear insight into the organization s behavior.
To implement such a system requires the collaboration of both the business manager and the
business s IT organization. The IT organization must have a clear understanding of the data
standards and data model that the manager requests to correctly implement it. Furthermore, the IT
organization must determine how the system should be designed to match the data needs of the
organization. Alongside the IT team, the business manager must address several issues concerning
the system, including how the data should be organized, collected, and distributed. The business
manager is also responsible for ensuring the quality of the data gathered and how to address any
technical issues that arise, as well as oversee the support for any transitions to updated software, so
that data is not lost. Keywords: data management, data model, data management design, database
implementation

A Brief Note On Justice And Environmental Cleanup Sordum Deeyaa ENG 1020 Ms. Campbell 29 November 2016 Research Paper Justice Through Environmental Cleanup I belong to a proud people called the Ogoni people. The Ogoni people are a minority tribe that s in the Southeast of Nigeria and they happen to own most of the vast oil reserves in Nigeria. Why does this matter you ask? Well because they ve been economically exploited, suffered environmental degradation and political marginalization in Nigeria for fighting for the right to self determine their destiny and keep control of their resources. Shell, a oil company that was founded in 1907 when the Dutch company practiced unfriendly environmental practices while drilling oil where people were living. This caused oil spills and polluted the water and land that was used to produce fruits and vegetables. Nigeria also allowed these practices to go on because a lot of Nigeria s wealth came from oil. The Nigerian government also supported the efforts of Shell to get rid of the Ogoni so that they can continue to take the oil without any consequences. With the help of Shell and the Nigerian government the Ogonis were forced to go out of Nigeria as exiles. My dad came here as a refugee and I was born here. While many see that some parts of the world are doing fairly well and operate in a democracy, I believe that we as a world community should rally behind human rights and address the degradation and devastation that has plagued the Ogoni community and other indigenous ... The Architectural Feat Of The Palace Of Knossos The Architectural Feat of the Palace of Knossos The Minoan civilization that flourished on the island of Crete is best known for their recognizable architecture and art which came about during the Bronze age. The center for administration and economic growth for the island of Crete was confined within the Minoan Palace of Knossos. Unfortunately, the extravagant beauty of the palace was only recently discovered when British Archaeologist, Arthur Evans, starting excavated the site in 1900. Evans was the first to call the ancient inhabitants of Crete Minoans. The complexity and the grandeur of the palace helps to identify that Knossos was at one point in history the capital of Crete (Mark, 2010). According to Greek mythology, architect Daedalus designed the palace of Knossos with great complexity. The objective of Daedalus plan was to make the palace so complicated finding one s way out would be an impossible task (Sakoulas). Other versions of the story state that Daedalus designed the labyrinth, a maze like structure, with a double bladed ax which contained the Minotaur, a half man half bull figure (Mark, 2010). Whatever the basis of the story may be, King Minos wanted to ensure the secret to escaping be kept confidential. In order to do so, King Minos demanded Daedalus and his son, Icarus, be held as prisoners in the palace. Being the clever man Daedalus was, he anticipated the kings move. Daedalus installed two sets of wings for him and his son to escape from the island. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 20. Mass Destruction And Death In William Golding s Lord Of... Humans kill. Whether it be animals, insects or people, humans kill. Human look at others and use the justice system to try and fix what other humans have done and this is the way they are punished. They are punished in a functioning society with rules and laws, but when all that is stripped away what are you left with? Mass destruction and humans that kill. Lord of the Flies published in 1954 and written by Nobel Prize winning author, William Golding, portrays the violence and eradication of a functioning society through young boys stranded on an island. Golding uses the symbol fire and forgetfulness of the need for it to develop the theme of the loss of society and creation of uncivilized destruction. He uses the character Ralph as a connection to the fire to imply the civilizationseen in the story. Ralph as chief in the beginning of Lord of the Flies uses fire to fuel his main goal as a leader, which is to get back home. He treats the fire as a necessity and one of the most important assets of being on the island. Ralph uses the smoke from the fire as a safety net that keeps him comfortable and with the hope of getting home. And we ll be responsible for keeping a lookout too. If we see a ship out there...we ll put green branches on. Then there ll be more smoke (Golding 43). He emphasizes the need for the smoke as he sees this as one of the only ways that they will ever be rescued. Ralph is seen to be still full of hope for life and escaping. He uses the symbol fire ... • 21. Tree Seedling In Savanna Dry tropical forests and savanna are most exploited and endangered ecosystem of the world (Murphy and Lugo 1986). In recent years increasing proportion of tropical dry forest have been modified into open secondary forest or savanna or completely destroyed through such activities as mining, agriculture, herbivory, and fire (Champion and Seth 1968; Singh et al.1991). The clearance of the vegetation generally increases the chances of soil erosion and invasions (e.g., wood plant encroachment) which potentially leading to habitat degradation (Kelly and Walker 1976; Van Aukenand Bush 1989; Skarpe 1990; Ward 2005; Balfour and Midgley 2008). Seedlings are very susceptible and important stage of plant life cycle (Grubb 1977). Because of this a better understanding of how seedlings of individual species in a community perform under changed environmental conditions relative to one another. It helps to explain the composition of plant communities. In dry tropical environment, germination and growth occur within a limited period of time. The environmental factor such as light , nutrients and moisture should be favorable during this period (Khurana and Singh 2002). Most of the researches have been conducted various studies on tree seedling growth of dry tropical species by focusing on spatiotemporal pattern of seedling recruitment in response to disturbance events such as fire and herbivory (Bond et al. 2001), or on consequences of seed characteristics for seedling demography and growth such as dispersal mechanisms (Barot et al. 1999;Goheen et al. 2004) and seed size (Khurana and Singh 2000). Seedlings establishment represents the most serious bottleneck to successful tree recruitment in tropical grasslands and savannas (Prins and Van der Jeugd 1993; Higgins et al. 2000; Loth et al. 2005; Wiegand et al. 2006; Van der Waal et al. 2009; van Langevelde et al. 2011). While Mahasweta originally written in her native Bengali language, most of her works are translated into English and regional Indian languages. The credit for translating her works into English for the first time goes to Gayatri Spivak, who had translated Mahasweta s Draupadi in 1981 and Breast Giver (Stanadayini) in 1987. Since then many of her stories have been translated into English by other scholarly translators, and until now about a dozen translators have translated Mahasweta s stories into English, among whom the foremost are Spivak and Bandyopadhyay. Mahasweta claims on translators capturing the spirit of her work, which to her is more important than technical or even artistic perfection and she readily authorizes those translations of her fiction that have been faithful to the spirit of her fiction. Disabilities were seen as social problems as in a discrepancy between what is and what people think ought to be. This idea shifted away from a medical model to the idea of disability as a form of social deviance that focused on disability as a social status. However, there are few references, outside of the instances where laws in relation to orphans or widows or introduced, that discuss children in the Old Testament. There are times where the birth of a child is mentioned, as is the case when Eve bore Cain in Genesis 4.1. However, there is no mention of his childhood. Rather, the story continues when he is an adult farmer. The New Testament includes references to children other than as a reference to genealogy or to celebrate a birth. These are very important to understanding the shift in tone from the previous books of the Bible. In Matthew 18, the disciples ask Jesuswho the greatest in the kingdom of heaven will be (18.1). He calls a child from among them before answering in the following verse. Before examining the answer, it is work noting that children are present. It is easy to forget when reading through the previous books that there are children, whether they are the patriarch s, a villager s, or a servant s, that could be present in many of the scenes depicted. They are not mentioned because their presence is unimportant to that particular tale. However, here they are important. So important, that Jesus feels the need to bring one to him. It is also important to note that the text only says that [h]e called a child (4.2). This child is not identified as male or female, the fact is irrelevant to this particular story. ... Most of these problems are essentially philosophical, requiring a degree of clarity about basic concepts that is seldom achieved in legislative debates and letters to newspapers (Feinberg 1984: 1). Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. Abortion is a reality for many women in the Philippines, but many consider it taboo. The Catholic Church regards it as mortal sin because taking another s life is forbidden and life is a precious gift given by God. Since the first century the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law. John Calvin, a French theologian and pastor during the Protestant Reformation, states that : The fetus, though enclosed in the womb of its mother, is already a human being, and it is a most monstrous crime to rob it of the life, which it has not yet begun to enjoy. If it seems more horrible to kill a man in his own house than in a field, because a man s house is his place of most secure refuge, it ought surely to be deemed more atrocious to destroy a fetus in the womb before it has come to light. Proclus recalls a story of Euclid of when Ptolemy 1 asked if there was a shorter path to learning geometry than Euclid s Elements, in which Euclid replied, There is no royal road to geometry. Although previous Mathematicians discovered many of the works in the book, Euclid was sill known for collecting, organizing, and proofing geometric ideas that were already used as applied techniques. Several mathematicians, the Elements are based on work from people like Eudoxus s, Thales, Hippocrates, Pythagoras, and many more. • 39. Functionalism In The Basketball Game I would like to start by saying the basketball game was great. That was the first game I attended while here on exchange. Each of the theoretical perspectives were present in the game, and I was absolutely amazed to see how theory applies to our everyday lives. Functionalism was present because all of the players were interdependent on one another in order for the gameto run smoothly and for them to win. They were each assigned a roll that required them to work as team. When one player messed up or did not fulfill his or her role well another player had to step up and adjust to keep the game going smooth. Before the game the coach tells the players the rules for the game. They players must put any personal issues to the side, which is them giving up free will with the expectation that if they perform well it will lead to better things after... For example, every time VSU got ahead or attempted to get ahead #14 on the girl s team would use her elbows and her weight to prevent us from catching up or passing their team. In this game the players are considered the producers and the coaches would be the people in control of the mode of production. The coaches pick the players based on their ability to produce on the court. There is a shift in the modes of production when the coach finds somebody that is more qualified for the position and find a player with a different position that can help the team win. When the losing team realizes that they are staying down for too long they start to question, observe, and become aware of the techniques the other team uses, then they plan in a way that is intended to help them over throw the other ... Italians Perception Of The American West Chloe Young History 105 Final 12/12/16 Italians Perception of the American West When people think of the American West they get this dangerous, rich, savage like idea of what it might be like. In reality the American West is very different in contrast to its perception. Europe and more specifically Italy are a main source of this impractical view on the American West. Many events throughout history have given Italy and the region of Europe this idea. The American west is known for its media success in well known places like Hollywood that use mass media productions like movies, and television shows to demonstrate this idea that the American West is full of dangerous cowboys and fame and fortune. In the early mid 20th century a genre of movie was produced called Spaghetti Western or Macaroni Western . These western films were an important aspect to the views on the American West throughout history. The way that American Westerns, American Authors and more broadly Hollywood itself, portrays the American West through its media, and famous movies gives Italy the perception that the American West is an intimidating place as well as one that people only dream of. In reality Hollywood was successful at significantly altering what reality is actually like in the American West. Hollywood has been well known for its famous movies that would be seen by millions all around the world. Hollywood has had major implications on the European view of what life is actually like. • 41. Taking a Look at Overpopulation The world has a population of 7 billion people and is still rising at 2.5 people per second (). Africa has 1,033 billion people as of 2011 () and also is on the rise. Recently the growth in population has become more and more serious as the world is biophysically limited, though it is said that it can provide for us all equally, the distribution of goods in very uneven. Even with this inequality people continue to procreate as they see it as a God given right and so many families in Africa contain from about 5 to 10 children in some cases. Traditional ways are also seen as a cause of population growth, with men having as many as 10 wives. Our biggest cause of overpopulation many have argued to be the lack of education, education on birth control, family planning and the impacts on the environment caused by growth in population. This issue of overpopulation in Africa has a huge impact on the country and its government to feed all these mouths, and often they rely on foreign help from the northern better off continents, driving African countries into debts they will never be able to pay off. The helping each other of countries, for example Ethiopia receiving help in the form of money, food and even weapons from America, can be seen as the centre of Garret Hardins life boat. As this aiding in almost all transactions is seen as a loss and dent in the stability of the more affluent nation. For this research, the companies researched were chosen based on the independent variable of outcome success. When researching how operations and other factors affect a company s success, the testing needs to include companies with different success levels. If the data are based only on successful companies, there is not any comparison to show what they were doing differently to make them successful. For example, all of the successful companies have an owner, but that is not what makes them successful. All companies successful or not are owned by someone. The other studies that Rosenzweig explains are 1994 Built to Last: Successful Habits of Visionary Companies and 2001 Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap...and Other Don t. These studies are considered more accurate on the basis of successful companies being compared to less successful companies, but Rosenzweig points out a separate fault within. The latter cases did extensive research, but the majority of the data came from publications and articles published by journalists. Rosenzweig uses these to introduce the Halo Effect. He explains that these studies, though they are more thorough with the samples, the data are based on highly on biased information, instead of getting the raw data from the companies. Coping Mechanisms used among SRNAs For centuries, humans have pondered diverse mechanisms of how to effectively deal with stress. The typical clinical setting of a SRNA consistently parallels the conditions that define a stressful environment. Dr. William Halstead, the New York surgeon accredited with popularizing regional anesthesia in the United States, used cocaine outside of the clinical setting as a method of coping with the rigorous stressors of his career (McDonough, 1990). The stress resulting from the SRNA education along with the DNP program can be a major source of psychological stress for the SRNA. According to McDonough (1990), stress is an imbalance that seeks to be relieved (p. 195). McDonough (1990) found that personalities and addictive tendencies of individuals caused some individuals to abuse drugs. A survey was administered to 150 students to assess addictive personality traits. Results indicated that anesthesia students had significantly higher scores in excitement seeking behaviors. McDonough (1990) also suggested the creation of support system to aid students in finding effective coping skills. Findings from this study provided the anesthesia literature with insight into substance abuse among SRNAs. SRNAs develop various coping mechanisms to relieve stressors. • 48. The Disregard Of Human Life The Disregard for Human Life Present in Wartime In Paul Rusesabagnia s, An Ordinary Man: An Autobiography, he tells his story of working in a hotel and turning this hotel into a refuge for over a thousand men, women, and children. He turned the hotel into a refuge to provide safety for targeted groups during an ethnic cleansing. Rusesabagnia shows his view son genocide during war, or the disregard for human life, by stating: A sad truth of human nature is that it is hard to care for people when they are abstractions, hard to care when it is not you or somebody close to you. Unless the world community can stop finding ways to dither in the face of this monstrous threat to humanity those words Never Again will persist in being one of the most abused phrases in the English language and one of the greatest lies of our time. As he possibly implies by stating this, this quote conveys that war poses a disregard for human life through differential belief systems concerning topics such as, racial, political, and religious groups; and, this can be seen in literature relating to wars of all times. Although wars are all fought for reasons, they all share a common theme of the disregard for human life. This common theme is experienced through events like genocide or ethnic cleansings, and illustrate the extent that men will go to in order to persecute others according to their beliefs. It has a bizarre cast of characters, a nonlinear sequence of events and endless references to pop culture. The underlying theme of the movie, however, deals with religion and the transformation of two characters: Jules (Samuel L. Jackson) and Butch (Bruce Willis). In the beginning of the film, Vincent (John Travolta) has returned from a stay in Amsterdam, and the conversation between Jules and Vincent deals with what Big Macs and Quarter Pounders are called in Europe. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Jules always quotes this just before he kills someone. The point is that the passage refers to a system of values and meaning by which one could lead one s life and make moral decisions. However, that system has no connection with Jules s life and as he realizes later, the passage is actually meaningless to him. In addition to the pop references in the film, its dialogue on language is concerned with naming things. What s a Big Mac called? What s a Quarter Pounder called? What s a Whopper called? When Ringo (Tim Roth) calls the waitress garГ§on, she tells him: garГ§on means boy . When Butch s girlfriend refers to his means of transportation as a motorcycle, he insists on correcting her: It s not a motorcycle, it s a chopper. When a Hispanic cab driver, however, asks Butch what his name means, he replies: This is America, honey; our names don t mean shit. The point is clear that in the absence of any lasting ambition or value and meaning, our language no longer points to anything beyond itself. To call something good or evil makes it so since there s no higher authority or criteria by which one might judge such things. Jules quotes the Bible before his executions, but he might as well be quoting the Fonz or Buddy Holly. This absence of any kind of system for making value judgments, this lack of a larger meaning to their lives, creates a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The immediate question that pops up in my mind is to ask whether Rose Mary carries some sort of mental illness. Fortunately, given the hints and traits that are relevant to why Rose Mary lives like that in the memoir, we, the readers, are able to make some diagnosis and assumptions on the kind of mental illness she may carry. To illustrate, one distinctive example is when Rose Mary blames Jeannette for having the idea to accept welfare. Once you go on welfare, it changes you. Even if you get off welfare, you never escape the stigma that you were a charity case. (188). In my opinion, Rose Mary is being nonsense and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With all these being said, it s most likely that Rose Mary carries manic depression since she potentially has something wrong with her ways of thinking and behaving. By definition, manic depression is otherwise known as bipolar disorder in modern times. It is a brain disorder that causes unusual shifts in mood, energy, behavior, thinking and the ability to carry out day to day tasks. (Introduction: Bipolar Disorder) This overall definition clearly supports the argument that Rose Mary carries bipolar disorder. Often times in the memoir, Rose Mary changes her mind and mood about doing something very quickly without any foreshadow. This brief explanation of bipolar disorder shows that Rose Mary possesses most of the traits of having bipolar disorder. From a greater perspective, bipolar disorder has two very distinctive phases the manic phase and depressive phase. During a manic phase, patients are often jumping quickly from one idea to the next (Melinda and Jeanne), feeling energetic and having unrealistic beliefs about one s abilities or powers (Melinda and Jeanne); during a depressive phase, patients are often feeling hopeless, sad, empty (Melinda and Jeanne) or irritable and unable to ... • 51. Analysis Of The Poem Little Red Cap Essay 13 English Literature. 3.8 Develop an informed understanding of literature and/or language using critical texts TOPIC: To what extent does Carol Ann Duffy present a feminist perspective in the poem Little Red Cap . The history of women has been a history of silence. (Hillary Clinton, 1995, Beijing) This powerful statement from Hillary Clinton underpins the injustices of female representation in the past. This silence is evident in the Bible verse, Let your women keep silent in the churches, (I Corinthians 14: 34 37) and Virginia Woolf s concept that Anon ... was often a woman[who could not otherwise get the respect of male counterparts]. (Virginia Woolf, 1928, A Room of One s Own. PAGE). These are only two examples of how females have been largely disempowered by the male constraints of literature. In recent history feminists have deemed it necessary to research the lost and forgotten females and retell history from a distinctly female perspective. This issue is of significant concern to Carol Ann Duffy, the current Poet Laureate. Duffy subverts fairytales, myths and historical stories to empower women, giving them a voice and allowing their stories to be heard. Because so much data is now available and gathered, organizations must set a data management system to clean then consolidate the data to give users clear insight into the organization s behavior. To implement such a system requires the collaboration of both the business manager and the business s IT organization. The IT organization must have a clear understanding of the data standards and data model that the manager requests to correctly implement it. Furthermore, the IT organization must determine how the system should be designed to match the data needs of the organization. Alongside the IT team, the business manager must address several issues concerning the system, including how the data should be organized, collected, and distributed. The business manager is also responsible for ensuring the quality of the data gathered and how to address any technical issues that arise, as well as oversee the support for any transitions to updated software, so that data is not lost.
