Research
Existing research in the field of GGP
Since previous valuable research about the same topic of general game player is comparatively rare, this
section will focus more on a similar field: Center for Analysis and Design of Intelligent Agents (CADIA)
player. By analyzing this similar field, the research could get a better understanding and some reference
functions. Therefore, the research of the general game player could be benefit.
CADIA player had won General Game Playing competition hosted by the AAAI conference for three times.

Game Play Interface
The main AI part of the CADIA agent is managed by the Game Play Interface (Finnsson 2007, p. 17; Finnsson
2012, p. 18). Both of the current state and the history that led to the state of the game will be tracked by this
layer (Finnsson 2007, p. 17; Finnsson 2012, p. 18). To achieve that, the Game Play Interface provide class
structure in which states and actions will be represent (Finnsson 2012, p. 18). The structure also need to be
capable to be translated back into description languages, like GDL or KIF (Finnsson 2012, p. 18).
The Game Logic Interface
Game logic Interface adopts classes to implement the Game Controller (Finnsson 2007, p. 19; Finnsson 2012,
p. 27). The Game Logic Interface will file the game s state, offers information about what moves are available,
when there is a move how should the states changes, determine terminal state, and decide the goal rewards if a
state is judged as a terminal state (Finnsson 2012, p. 27).

Essay about business model 1
BUSINESS MODEL GENERATION EXERCISE
RQ1 What is a Business Model? At least 2 paragraphs.
The first step in implementing an effective business model is to adequately understand the definition.
Osterwalder and Pigneur (2010) define a business model as the rationale of how an organization creates,
delivers, and captures value. (14) In simple terms, a business model is an outline or a blueprint an organization
uses to constract effective processes, structure, and systems.
While business models can be complex and unique, a basic understanding and definition of a business model is
important for success. To simplify the complexities of defining a business model, one can view customer
segments, value ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Likewise, a poor business model is often blamed for a firm s failure. Models, like strategy, are important ways
that a company can plan, adjust, and succeed.
As described previously, a business model can be seen as a blueprint and such plans give direction, meaning,
and purpose. Business models can also be perceived as scale models used for larger implementation.
(Doganova Eyquem Renault, 2009) Whether implemented by an entrepreneur or by an establish market
leading organization, business models allow for firms to put a plan to paper and support their plan with data.
This allows an organization to plan carefully for the risks and opportunites that they will face as they put the
model into practice.
RQ3 What role do value propositions perform in successful business models? At least 2 paragraphs.
Osterwalder and Pigneur (2010) describe value propositions as the bundle of products and services that create
value for a specific customer segment. (22) This building block of a business model is essential in that it is the
reason why consumers value one company over another. Value Propositions can also help organizations create
customer loyalty and retention. With intense competition in markets, value propositions are an important part
of a business model because it addresses competition and attempts to set the firm apart from the other choices
presented to its customer base.
Value Propositions relate very closely to the

Immanuel Kant Perpetual Peace
Democratic Peace is a political theory developed by Immanuel Kant in 1795. Kant discussed democratic peace
in his book, Perpetual Peace. The idea stated that democracies don t fight other democracies. Democracies
would not go to war, unless in self defense, and to counter that necessity, Kant believed that if all nations
became republics wars would cease to exist. Now, this belief rings with a tinge of idealism, however Kant s
arguments did hold validity. (Kant, I. 1795) With countries becoming democracies and working together, there
would be no need for war or conflict, instead, relationships would focus on mutually beneficial courses of
action.
In his philosophical treatise, Kant proposes three mechanisms that foster peace among nations and societies:
one: the presence of a republican constitution , which for Kant entails the requirement of public approval
before the government ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Russia s military and military backed militia moved in to combat protests in the nation. Millions of people are
suffering this military oppression, and it is believed that Russia is persuing this war in the hopes to take back
Ukraine and enact broader military influence on the region, while also gaining territory. Russia s opposition to
Ukraine becoming a part of the EU seems to have culminated in the current state of volatility between the two
regions.
This situation reveals the flaws in the democratic peace theory. Russia may claim to have democratic
institutions; however old traits of autocracy are seeping through the borders. By continually attacking Ukraine,
even after a ceasefire was called in 2015, Russia showed the world that power and control were more vital than
peace. The nation and its people are being oppressed by a force they cannot compete with. Russia would be
considered a Rocky Balboa state because it is not afraid to both initiate force and respond with it. (Thompson,

Once Upon A Time By Nadine Gordimer
We are all equal, but yet so different in many ways. People should not own slaves, should not get into others
business because then they face consequences. Whites should not build their fence higher because they re
afraid. It might just cost a family member there life. We need to unite and not be ignorant nor shall we be
racist.
In the short story Once upon a time by Nadine Gordimer, is about a family who is afraid. The family is afraid
of the people that live outside of her house. The humans who live outside of their house are different race,
color than the family inside the house. A break in happened one night and the family was scared so they decide
to build their fence outside high because they couldn t figure out how else to keep them from coming in. As
they built the fence they put barbed wire so nobody could come in. The family then noticed that they trapped
themselves in their own house. Toward the end the little boy their son got stuck in the barb wire and was cut
everywhere, nobody knows if he died. You have been warned is a quote that they use in this short story and

Value Functions Of Nissan

Generating Value: Functions
After the flooding of Japan in 2011, the recovery team for Nissan went out of their way to make sure that
production continued. To insure that production continued, Nissan set some new systems in place for
operations management. This would insure that Nissan would be able to maintain the products value by being
able to continued delivery to their consumers. They did this in a few procedures listed below put in place by
the recovery team:
1. Sharing information With all the flooding that happened Nissan was concerned about the news concerning
the facilities. They sent two members from each region to get information and help solve problems.

Adjust the Baseline Forecast for Promotions: Promotions are huge when it comes to sales volume. This needs
to be factored in towards the baseline forecast. Trade promotion can be adjusted in the forecast numbers and
identified.
7. Manage VMI and CPFR Processes: If the company is involved in both of these, they need to communicate
the date to the customers and internal managers that are responsible for the VMI and CPFR program.
8. Generate a One Number Forecast: All the steps listed before this final step are for providing data for the
Sales and Operations Planning Process. This brings together high end people from specific areas of the
company to agree on a single forecast number and a plan that will drive supply and demand in the company.
Nissan uses a build to stock method for a few of their products and a build to order for all others. They would
need a forecasting system in place for the build to stock products. Using both methods, Nissan was able to
increase sales. I believe that a forecasting system might improve if Nissan would build less build to stock
product to help decrease cost. A forecasting system wouldn t be needed for top selling products if they
increased the build to order option. Customers like to build their own products and make it the way they like
versus buying a stock option that might not have specific features they are partial

Hate Speech And Free Speech In The Public
Universities all over the country have had some similar conflicts. No one really knows what needs to happen to
get them to end. These protesters have been violent and nonviolent. Nonviolent protesters could be protected
by their freedom of speech, but so could the violent ones. Knowing that violent protesting needs to be put to an
end, police officials are not really sure how they should go about it. The protests at Universities have made
heads turn, while government officials are contemplating on what they should do to help keep the students and
speakers safe. Hate speech and free speech have some differences. According to the Merriam Webster
Dictionary, hate speech is defined as a, speech that is intended to insult, offend, or intimidate a person because
of some trait (Merriam Webster Dictionary). Freedom of speech is, the right to express information, ideas, and
opinions free of government restrictions (Merriam Webster Dictionary). These terms have parallel but
contrasting meanings. Everyone has their freedom of speech. Anyone can speak their opinions without worries.
Fighting words or hate speech is protected as long as there is no violence according to Kathleen Ann Ruane, a
Legislative Attorney. Different college universities are needing to lay out some regulations to their protests so
that they can have a safer environment. The University of California Berkeley had some protests pertaining to
Ben Shapiro, a speaker they had early in September. There were no

The Effect Barbary Pirates Had on the History of America
The effect Barbary Pirates had on the history of America
Algeria, Morocco, Libya, Tunisia; The current day names for the land of which the Barbary Pirates had once
inhabited. These Barbary States would extort the world of their men and their cargo through plundering of
naval ships. In the same time period there was a newly discovered land, which was striving to mature into an
independent country. This land was known as America, and they were rigorously tearing apart from their
homeland, England. Once the United States declared independence, British diplomats were quick to inform the
Barbary States that U.S. ships were open to attack. In 1785 (PA). The United States did not enjoy paying off
the pirates, so they took it to their own hands to stop this problem once and for all. The defeat of the Barbary
States, by Americans helped the naval security, a huge amount in the future of the Land of the Free , and
allowed for lots of fighting experience.
From 1786 to 1815, the United States made tribute payments to the North African Barbary states to protect its
shipping from pirate raids (Kearney F, Barbary pirates ). This ended when Jefferson was elected into
presidency. He had been against the tribute of the Barbary States his whole life in office, and so when he was
elected, he stopped paying tribute and refused to pay a ransom for many goods and men that the pirates had
rummaged. This angered the pirates, and so war was unofficially declared, and Jefferson had a blockade

diversely regulated by the states and territories, raising the issue of the interaction of those laws in
international cases. Commercial surrogacy is prohibited in Australia, but is permitted in other countries. An
increasing number of Australians exploit this difference by entering into commercial surrogacy agreements

The effect of the surrogacy agreement is fascinating. Brown J insisted that it is the Family Law Act that
governs this case, not the provisions of the surrogate agreement . But the significant factor of the birth mother
s lack of objection to the application was consistent with her obligations under the agreement. The result of the
litigation was consistent with the outcome which the parties attempted to secure by their agreement. The effect
on the state s criminal prohibition of commercial surrogacy was regarded as irrelevant, even though Brown J
noted that a dominant explanation for the intending parents decision to enter into a surrogacy agreement in
California was that such an agreement would be illegal in Victoria . Without explanation, her Honour held that
the illegality of the agreement was not a relevant consideration. There is now a significant number of recent

Essay On Sex Trafficking
Sex Trafficking
Sex trafficking is defined as the recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision, or obtaining of a person for
the purpose of a commercial sex act. (Polaris Project) Sex trafficking is happening in the United States more
than people truly know. An estimated 293,000 children are in danger of being sexually trafficked in the U.S.
(Sexual Trafficking) In the United States some women sell themselves for sex for their own benefits, but
countless others are made to be slaves for the benefit of the pimp by threats, fraud, abuse, coercion, and many
other reasons.
Sex trafficking victims can be men or women, child or adult, male or female, foreign or U.S. born. Most often
the victims are females between the ages of five and twenty five with the average age range being twelve to
fourteen. (Crisis Aid)

Equal Pay Act Of 1964 Essay
There are four Acts passed by Congress that were pivotal for equality in the American workforce. Until these
laws were passed by Congress, people of color and woman suffered grave injustices in the form of hiring,
income, promotion, and termination. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 ended the Jim Crow laws of the South that
promoted segregation and many laws of inequality that plagued the southern states in America. The Equal Pay
Act of 1963 helped establish equal pay for women in the workforce. The Pregnancy Discrimination Act of
1978 established litigation for working pregnant women. The Civil Rights Act of 1991 greater enforced the
Civil Rights Act of 1964 and held organization monetarily responsible for violations of discriminations to
minorities. The learning of these important laws will help an individual better understand their rights as it
pertains to employment in the workforce.

The intentions of the Equal Pay Act were to provide legislation to make it illegal for organizations to

Taming Of The Shrew Identity
Taming of the Shrew: People Act the Way They are Treated Society has a tendency to believe that the way one
perceives another individual is how they truly are. It is human nature to construct one s personality based on
the way one may speak or behave. However, it is also human nature to accept these roles created by others. In
this modern day society, the majority believe that they are in charge of their own individuality. Yet, the way
others behave towards a particular individual is what shapes one s identity. This is well demonstrated by
William Shakespeare in Taming of the Shrew. In this play, many characters easily mold into various other
personas. Throughout the entire play, Shakespeare constantly emphasizes how individuals behave differently
based on how others look upon them. This is shown repeatedly through the lives and experiences of Katherina,
Bianca and Christopher Sly. To begin with, Christopher Sly changes his entire identity based on how his peers
were behaving towards him. After being treated differently for a short amount of time, Sly changes his entire
persona. When Sly wakes up confused, as he is surrounded by his servants, whom constantly refer to him as a
lord. Christopher Sly is being tricked into believing he is a lord, when in reality, he is a drunk and a beggar. He
starts to recite his his inner thoughts about his situation and says, Am I a lord, and have such a lady?/ or do I
dream? Or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

In Shakespearean times, it was not unusual for others to judge different individuals. However it is still

`` Cows, Pigs, Wars, And Witches By Marvin Harris
Cows, Pigs, Wars, and Witches by Marvin Harris divulges into some difference and components of culture
around the world. He answers question as to why individuals perform and act the way they do in relation to
culture. He looks at sexual hierarchies among Yanomamo culture as well as the Hindu s respect for cows in
India.
The Savage male chapter of the book attempts to explain human sexual hierarchies. There are two are
categorical areas that divide the theories; unmodifiable instincts and adaptiveness of lifestyles. Harris
expectation if sexual hierarchies were only decided by anatomy and cultural capacities are that women would
be the dominant gender because women are able to give birth. There is an expectation they would modified or
remove forces that may be harmful to them, and that the populations of males would be smaller and feel more
gratitude to the women. Their communities would consist of polyandry. The men would desire sexual favor
from the women and be inferior of the women.
Friedrich Engels believes that at one time this type of system did occur but the men decided to band together
and over through the women. Harris doesn t believe this has actually occurred because there are no examples
throughout society. The closest representation of this idea is present through 10 to 15 percent of the societies
across the world participating in matrilineality. Although these societies showcase matrilineality the women
are not in control of the family affairs, a male from

Cold War Total War
The French Revolution and Napoleonic warfare introduced a new way to wage war, a type of total warfare
which encompassed the country as a whole. Universal conscription referred to as levee en masse made the
French army the largest in Europe and also the easiest to keep up to strength. ( Napoleon and the Revolution in
war Peter Paret. Makers of Modern Strategy from Machiavelli to the nuclear age (1986) page 126). In the
century that followed, statesman and military leaders were of the mindset that total war was the way to achieve
decisive victories.
This total war way of thinking led to many conflicts which included World War I and World War II, as well as

Super powers, as well as most of the developed world, believed the planet was continually on the verge of
nuclear Armageddon, but the Cold War ended with the collapse of the Soviet Union. This collapse left the
United States as the sole super power and in the role of the world police. Since the United States was left as the
most powerful country in the world, it assumed the responsibility of de escalating conflicts and promoting
global peace and security: a role the United States continues to play in order to maintain access and to protect
its global interests. As the world was learning the rules of post Cold War warfare, events took a sharp turn into
asymmetric warfare, a type of warfare we have been engaged in since the mid 2000s, and a type of warfare
that continues to challenge the free world today. With adversaries closing the gap in technology and engaging
non state actors, these parameters are definitely contributing towards limited war. Also, in this age of
information and technology, it would be difficult to gain public support for a total war since it would constitute
unnecessary destruction and needless loss of life. Instead, adversaries engage in cyber war with the aim of
crippling and delaying technological advances as well as disrupting services for the

Carrie s baby was only eight month old when they claimed that she was not a normal baby due to the fact that
Carrie and her mother were feebleminded. Dr. Priddy believed that if they were to let Carrie be sterilized then
it would most likely remove more feebleminded offspring s which can decrease her chance of having a
feebleminded baby (Buck v. Bell, 2006).
Carrie s lawyer Irving Whitehead did not make any justification for Carrie knowing that she was a church girl
going every day and had no problems in school. Even though he would have the chance to represent Carrie in
the higher courts, he would be on Dr. Priddy s and Aubrey Strode side because he sees the same effects as
them. They fought to request the case through many courts expecting to get all the support that they can for the

Later the Circuit Court had supported the law and filed for the sterilization of Carrie. In 1925 Carrie s lawyer
Irving Whitehead supported the decision of the Circuit Court at the Supreme Court of Appeals of the State of
Virginia. So after all of this Dr. Priddy had passed away in which Dr. J.H. Bell had replaced him at the Colony.
The case now became Buck v. Bell; Dr. Bell had sterilized Carrie in 1927 which then was released from the

when it s due. Also, take responsibility for dilemmas. The third E is for edge. Mangers who have edge know
how to stay above the competition. They have the strength to make the difficult decisions. No matter the
degree of difficulty they are able to make the decision without a problem. The final E is for execute. Execution
is the key to making the other e s work. Managers who execute know how to convert the other e s into actions
and results. All these e s working together create passion. When a company has passionate managers and
employees, it has great success. Jack Welch developed passion within himself and his employees to create one
of the most profitable companies in America. Managers who know how to motivate their employees will get
the best out of their employees. Motivating employees can be from increase in pay to employee of the month
to more training. Jack Welch created a rule for motivation. The rule was called 20 70 10. The employees are
divided into these three group based on job performance. The 20 is top twenty (20) percent in the company.
These employees are above average. The 70 is the middle percent. These employees have average job
performance. They can move up to the top twenty or move down. The 10 is the lower percent and they are

Case Assignment
To: Ellen Schall, Commissioner New York City Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ)
From: Lei Liu, Consultant
Subject: Recommendations for a New Mission Statement
Date: January 27, 2013
Recommendations To draft the new mission statement, I suggest following the process: * Review the New
York City Charter for DJJ
The Charter provides the major duties that DJJ must fulfill. Therefore, when creating the new mission
statement, reviewing the content of the Charter is necessary. * Clarify the Core Purpose of DJJ
The core purpose guides the employees and the organization, and helps the daily decision making. * Target the
Stakeholders and Expectations Stakeholders expectations reflect what the DJJ should do. The ... Show more

The internal stakeholders should include the board of directors, top managers, middle managers, and the staff.
Their values and opinions towards the core purpose and values of DJJ are indispensable and important.
Developing some surveys and organizing the meetings among the staff are helpful ways to learn and exchange
ideas and thoughts about DJJ s mission and values. The surveys may include the degree of staff satisfaction
about the current mission statement and, in case if disagreement, include ways to change and improve the
statement. Then, targeting the customers that DJJ would mainly serve and focus on is an efficient way to
identify the external stakeholders and clarify the core purpose of DJJ. * Review the Historical Experience and
Current Context Past experience can help DJJ to think about the comparative advantages they had in the area
of juvenile delinquents care. Reviewing the past may help DJJ to find out what the staff truly believed in as
well. It would also help DJJ to check whether there was some mission drifting or other types of failure on
fulfilling the mission. Some mistakes and faults from past may also help DJJ to adjust the mission statement as
well. Furthermore, checking current context would assist DJJ to articulate the expectations of the external
stakeholders and adjust the mission statement to fit the current social context so that the statement would not
be unrealistic or behind the times. * Consider the Desired Results

Civil War Dbq
The civil war was an ugly fight between the North, which was called the Union, they were against slavery, and
the South who were called the Confederacy, they were for slavery. During the civil war both the south and
north needed African American to serve in many things such as, helping build fortifications, to put artillery in
place and meet other military needs. This connects to my learning by saying that the military needed help
building forts and putting things together. The Northern and Southern armies had very different views of
African Americans military service in the Civil War. One way that we know this is by looking at two
recruitment posters. A confederate recruitment poster from 1862 shows that the south viewed blacks as
laborors.

The Three Trunks Of The Plexus
Rick Winstead
Steve Hammons
PTA 150
2/13/15
Brachial Plexus At first glance, the brachial plexus may be a bit intimidating. The nerves arising from it and
the muscles of the trunk and upper extremity of which it innervates may seem overwhelming, but as one
begins the process of adding all of the components together in an orderly fashion, it begins to be seen in a
much more easily understood manner. The first step in this process is to gain a grasp on the basic main
structure of the plexus, and then gradually build on that foundation. The basic organization is split into five
areas. These are the roots, trunks, divisions, cords, and terminal branches. The five roots originate from spinal
nerves C5, C6, C7, C8, and T1. It is important to remember that these five areas contain both motor and
sensory components. Next are the three trunks of the plexus. The roots of C5 and C6 combine to form the
upper trunk, C7 continues on its own to form the middle trunk, and the lower trunk is formed by C8 and T1.
Each trunk then divides into an anterior and posterior division. The divisions then combine to form cords. The
anterior divisions of the upper and middle trunk combine to form the lateral cord, the anterior division of the
lower trunk forms the medial cord, and all three posterior divisions combine to make the posterior cord.
Finally, the cords give way to the terminal branches of the brachial plexus. The lateral cord splits and becomes
the musculocutaneous nerve, and a

Strict Deadlines And Organizational Performance
Strict Deadlines
Sixty one percent (61%) of the respondents observed strict deadlines as a serious hazard with regards to
matters of health. 39% did not consider it as a hazard that affects organizational performance. Conversely, only
twenty six percent (26%) of the respondents reported that they ever give instructions to employees in ways that
related to strict deadlines. Most organizations are still not cognisant that employees may be suffering from this
serious health hazard in a way that affects their performance in a negative way. It is important to note that the
management of organizations can, in a number of ways, prevent operating with strict deadlines for the
employees on a regular basis. Again the issue of strict deadlines ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There was also the issue of provision of instructions regarding preventive measures or strategies to the
employees, a factor that seemed to be disregarded or not well emphasised in most organizations; only 35% of
the respondents reported to do so on a regular basis.
In as much as the physical preventive measures tend to offer the employees the feeling that the organization
cares for them, disregards or lack of emphasis on information of preventive strategies somehow shows that
organizations only focus on protecting their properties. Offers of such information serves to ensure the
employees are well prepared in dealing with buglers and terrorist. Them would know the correct times of
raising alarm and cooperating; they would also be better positioned in identifying robbers or terrorists, and
avoid possibilities of being injured or killed in attacks.
Chemical Exposure and other Pollutants
Common elements that bring about chemical exposure in most of the organizations include cleaning materials
with potential of harmful implications, chemicals in currency notes and the ones used in machinery and
equipment like photocopiers and printers. Special focus ought to be given to organizations that deal with
manufacturing and processing that involves first hand use of chemical materials. Otherwise and in
commonplace office settings, most respondents failed to consider chemical exposure as a health and safety
hazard that

Social Norms In A Doll House
When we think of the word dollhouse we think of synonyms like innocence and playful. In Melanie Martinez s
music video she captures the opposite; in Dollhouse Martinez s demonstrates the corruption social norms and
gender roles can have on a family. Martinez shows us that anyone can be affected by it, we just have to spot
the signs before it gets out of hand. The first thing you notice in the music video is a dollhouse. The dollhouse
is a two story furnished home with rooms to accommodate all the family members which consist of a father,
mother, son and daughter. Already we can tell that the family belongs in a high social class because of the look
of the house but to reassure the audience the director introduces the family wearing high class attire. The father
wears a tailored black suit with glasses and a tie, the mother is in a light pink suit with heels and a red derby
hat on, the son wears a button down white dress shirt with suspenders and black slacks while the girl wears a
baby pink dress and a bow. Not only does the choice of clothing reveal the social status of the family it reveals
the gender roles each member plays. The women are expected to wear the pink attire while the men are
expected to wear the business work attire. It is a social norm for them, which can also tie into the family role

is at work, the mother is at home cleaning the kitchen and making food while the two children complete their
daily tasks in life which is studying for the boy and playing with the dolls for the girl. This is a regular
occurrence for them since the characters are not fazed by the work each person is doing but what is concerning
is the hidden actions each person does that the others do not see. From this we can concluded the hidden

The Balance Scorecard
SFU The Balance Scorecard Initiative BUS 322 Written Case Miranda Zhang 7/29/2014 Executive Summary
This report provides the analysis of case study given to me. Gail Palmer Ashton Graduate School of Business

foundations. This analysis proposes implementation of the balanced scorecard and performance metrics in
order to achieve the four strategic goals of the institution. Even the ranking is consistent and high the institute

So in that case performance measures should be selected to end goals of a particular institute. Solution
Proposing a balanced scorecard Balanced scorecard is a set of measures, which give the complete view of any
business performance. Kaplan and Norton (1995) explained balanced scorecard in following words: The
balanced scorecard should translate a business unit s mission and strategy into tangible objectives and
measures. The measures represent a balance between external measures for shareholders and customers and
internal measures of critical business processes, innovation and learning and growth. The measures are balance
between outcome measures, the results of past efforts, and the measures that drive future performance. And the
scorecard is balanced between objective, easily quantified outcome measures and subjective, somewhat
judgmental, performance... Following are the strategic performance measures of any balanced scorecard:
Financial performance: it deals with how the current and potential stakeholders see a particular business.
Customer performance: This measure tells the company about the view of customers regarding the

Essay about to build a fire
In the short story, To Build a Fire by Jack London shows how man vs. nature and how inexperienced traveler
in the Yukon tries to travel alone with his dog, even though it s advised not to. Yet he is stubborn and thinks he
is right, and sets off for Henderson Creek to meet his friends. He faces many different conflicts of man verses
man, and man verses nature.
The traveler is advised not to make this trip with the lack of his inexperience in the Yukon due to the weather,
the incoming storm, and its advisories. With the subzero freezing cold temperatures that came with the storm.
Fifty degrees below zero stood for a bite of frost that hurt and that must be guarded against by the use of
mittens, ear flaps, warm moccasins, and thick ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, he carried nothing but the lunch wrapped in the handkerchief. He was surprised, however, at the cold
(561 562).
The traveler is keen enough to pick up on the timber jams in the river. He shows that he does have skills even
though he is inexperienced in the Yukon, and that he is well focused on his objective to travel the Yukon to see
his friends. He was keenly observant, and he noticed the changes in the creek, the curves, and bends and the
timber jam, and always he sharply noted where he placed his feet (563). Also, he picks up on other hot springs
and things within the terrain from being observant and careful.
The traveler starts to show just how inexperienced he is and how he really lacks the street smarts in the Yukon,
when he builds the fire underneath a spruce tree along the edge of the tree line. He had to build the fire because
the cold was getting to him and he needed to warm up after falling through the ice. HE was not smart, instead
of putting the fire out in the open or further out without anything to come down on it to put it out, it was a lack
of common sense. It was as though he had just heard his own sentence of death. For a moment he sat and
stared at the spot where the fire had been. Then he grew very calm (565). He then tries to move the fire out
into the open, but knows that the kindling is saturated with water from the snow falling on the fire, it became
useless. He now realizes he is in trouble. Well, it was up to him to

The Influences Of Title IX
Influences from Title IX: It has been forty years since the Title IX law was passed. Title IX was formed to give
men and women equal opportunities. Jobs, scholarships, recruitment of student athletes, and even housing and
dining services are equally available to men and women thanks to Title IX. Before passing the law, women
were sitting on the sidelines. Women were not allowed to participate in most sports. While men were getting
all the attention for sports, women sat there and hoped that one day they would be recognized. It is/was
everyone s dream to become known. To become a somebody, women just wanted equality. In 1972, that
became an actual opportunity. Many women have been so thankful to Title IX. Kris Miller, an eight time

The Kalam Cosmological Argument
God exists because we have people who exists, nature exists, the world exists. According to the video on the
Kalam Cosmological argument, People who don t believe God exists think that the world and everything in it
is just here and there is no cause and effect. If something exists than there is a cause because the world doesn t
just come out of nowhere. There must be a reason why things are the way they are. People create things in the
world like social artifacts or etc. God created people to make the world what it is based on new intentions or

Tariq ibn Ziyad crossed the Straight of Gibraltar at first with the sole intention of avenging king Roderic for
the crime he committed. However, because of the weakness of the kingdom due to civil war, Tariq opted to
continue his occupation of Roderic s entire empire. Another theory for the occupation by the Arab Muslims of
Spain is that because of their persecution, the Jews called upon their contacts in North Africa, who in turn
encouraged the able Arabs to capture Spain. This allowed the Almoravids and the Almohads to establish
themselves in Spain.Nevertheless, without a doubt, the Jews supported and welcomed Muslims in Spain
because they were great beneficiaries under Muslim rule. Rule The majority of the Army as well as
commander Tariq himself were not Arab but Islamic Berbers, and in timeIslamic migrants from places as
diverse as North Africa to Yemen and Syria came to live in the Iberian peninsula. The Islamic rulers called the
Iberian peninsula Al Andalus , which some say means Paradise. That was the rootfor the name of the present
day region of Andalusia, the southernmost region of Spain. For a time, the area that is today Spain and

Walt Disney at the Beginning
You walk into the living room and you hear the famous Disney music coming from the television that your
child is placed in front of. You start to wonder where did your favorite Disney movies came from? How did
they come about into the human world or how were they produced? What was Walt Disney s childhood like
when he was younger that made him want to animate and put together cartoons and movies? Where did his
career start off from and how did he get to such a place. But the more important question, who is taking over
now that Walt Disney has passed? Who is keeping on the traditions of Mickey and all of his famous
characters? These are some questions that I set out to look more upon of Walt Disney. In what I ve researched
is what is going to be presented to you in Walt Disney: A Key to Childhood Hearts. On December 5th. 1901 in
the town of Chicago, Illinois a baby boy was born with the name of Walter Elias Disney, or as we know, Walt
Disney. Growing up as a child Walt s father, Elias, was a very strict and religious man. His father would
physically beat him and his siblings if any sort of toys, drawings, or any type of entertainment was found
around the house. His wife, Flora, feared him too. When Walt was born his father was a construction worker
and his mother a stay at home mom to five Disney children. His father later then took up a farm in Marceline,
Missouri where they then moved to. Walter always loved all the animals on the farm and felt like they were his
friends.

Likewise, a poor business model is often blamed for a firm s failure. Models, like strategy, are important ways that a company can plan, adjust, and succeed. As described previously, a business model can be seen as a blueprint and such plans give direction, meaning, and purpose. Business models can also be perceived as scale models used for larger implementation. (Doganova Eyquem Renault, 2009) Whether implemented by an entrepreneur or by an establish market leading organization, business models allow for firms to put a plan to paper and support their plan with data. This allows an organization to plan carefully for the risks and opportunites that they will face as they put the model into practice. RQ3 What role do value propositions perform in successful business models? At least 2 paragraphs. • 5. Immanuel Kant Perpetual Peace Democratic Peace is a political theory developed by Immanuel Kant in 1795. Kant discussed democratic peace in his book, Perpetual Peace. The idea stated that democracies don t fight other democracies. Democracies would not go to war, unless in self defense, and to counter that necessity, Kant believed that if all nations became republics wars would cease to exist. Now, this belief rings with a tinge of idealism, however Kant s arguments did hold validity. (Kant, I. 1795) With countries becoming democracies and working together, there would be no need for war or conflict, instead, relationships would focus on mutually beneficial courses of action. In his philosophical treatise, Kant proposes three mechanisms that foster peace among nations and societies: one: the presence of a republican constitution , which for Kant entails the requirement of public approval before the government ... This situation reveals the flaws in the democratic peace theory. Russia may claim to have democratic institutions; however old traits of autocracy are seeping through the borders. By continually attacking Ukraine, even after a ceasefire was called in 2015, Russia showed the world that power and control were more vital than peace. It is human nature to construct one s personality based on the way one may speak or behave. However, it is also human nature to accept these roles created by others. In this modern day society, the majority believe that they are in charge of their own individuality. Yet, the way others behave towards a particular individual is what shapes one s identity. This is well demonstrated by William Shakespeare in Taming of the Shrew. In this play, many characters easily mold into various other personas. Throughout the entire play, Shakespeare constantly emphasizes how individuals behave differently based on how others look upon them. This is shown repeatedly through the lives and experiences of Katherina, Bianca and Christopher Sly. To begin with, Christopher Sly changes his entire identity based on how his peers were behaving towards him. After being treated differently for a short amount of time, Sly changes his entire persona. When Sly wakes up confused, as he is surrounded by his servants, whom constantly refer to him as a lord. He answers question as to why individuals perform and act the way they do in relation to culture. He looks at sexual hierarchies among Yanomamo culture as well as the Hindu s respect for cows in India. The Savage male chapter of the book attempts to explain human sexual hierarchies. There are two are categorical areas that divide the theories; unmodifiable instincts and adaptiveness of lifestyles. Harris expectation if sexual hierarchies were only decided by anatomy and cultural capacities are that women would be the dominant gender because women are able to give birth. There is an expectation they would modified or remove forces that may be harmful to them, and that the populations of males would be smaller and feel more gratitude to the women. Their communities would consist of polyandry. The men would desire sexual favor from the women and be inferior of the women. Friedrich Engels believes that at one time this type of system did occur but the men decided to band together and over through the women. Harris doesn t believe this has actually occurred because there are no examples throughout society. The closest representation of this idea is present through 10 to 15 percent of the societies across the world participating in matrilineality. Their values and opinions towards the core purpose and values of DJJ are indispensable and important. Developing some surveys and organizing the meetings among the staff are helpful ways to learn and exchange ideas and thoughts about DJJ s mission and values. The surveys may include the degree of staff satisfaction about the current mission statement and, in case if disagreement, include ways to change and improve the statement. Then, targeting the customers that DJJ would mainly serve and focus on is an efficient way to identify the external stakeholders and clarify the core purpose of DJJ. * Review the Historical Experience and Current Context Past experience can help DJJ to think about the comparative advantages they had in the area of juvenile delinquents care. Reviewing the past may help DJJ to find out what the staff truly believed in as well. It would also help DJJ to check whether there was some mission drifting or other types of failure on fulfilling the mission. Some mistakes and faults from past may also help DJJ to adjust the mission statement as well. Furthermore, checking current context would assist DJJ to articulate the expectations of the external stakeholders and adjust the mission statement to fit the current social context so that the statement would not be unrealistic or behind the times. * Consider the Desired Results ... During the civil war both the south and north needed African American to serve in many things such as, helping build fortifications, to put artillery in place and meet other military needs. This connects to my learning by saying that the military needed help building forts and putting things together. • 41. The Three Trunks Of The Plexus Rick Winstead Steve Hammons PTA 150 2/13/15 Brachial Plexus At first glance, the brachial plexus may be a bit intimidating. The nerves arising from it and the muscles of the trunk and upper extremity of which it innervates may seem overwhelming, but as one begins the process of adding all of the components together in an orderly fashion, it begins to be seen in a much more easily understood manner. The first step in this process is to gain a grasp on the basic main structure of the plexus, and then gradually build on that foundation. The basic organization is split into five areas. These are the roots, trunks, divisions, cords, and terminal branches. The five roots originate from spinal nerves C5, C6, C7, C8, and T1. It is important to remember that these five areas contain both motor and sensory components. Next are the three trunks of the plexus. The roots of C5 and C6 combine to form the upper trunk, C7 continues on its own to form the middle trunk, and the lower trunk is formed by C8 and T1. Each trunk then divides into an anterior and posterior division. The divisions then combine to form cords. The anterior divisions of the upper and middle trunk combine to form the lateral cord, the anterior division of the lower trunk forms the medial cord, and all three posterior divisions combine to make the posterior cord. Finally, the cords give way to the terminal branches of the brachial plexus. The lateral cord splits and becomes the musculocutaneous nerve, and a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
