Analysis Of Northrop Grumman And Raytheon
Aaron Simpson
March 8, 2015
Mrs. Helton
English 101 Analysis of Northrop Grumman and Raytheon The purpose of this company analysis is to
discover why one company would be better to invest in over the other. The analysis is based on two
competing companies within the same industry. While these two companies compare in products and
services, they do not relate in overall size. To assist in making an educating decision, many areas of
each company were looked at. A comprehensive financial ratio analysis was completed for each
company, as well as an evaluation of their strengths, weaknesses and future opportunities. While it is
important to consider how a company manages its finances, it is equally important to consider its
future prospects as well. Below you will find a brief description of each company, and an evaluation
of their performance. All of this information will be concluded with which company may be the better
investment prospect. Raytheon is a company that specializes in defense, homeland security and other
government markets globally. They are also one of the largest defense contractors in the world. The
company has created a diverse product portfolio by running its operations through six separate
divisions. These divisions include: missile systems (MS), integrated defense systems (IDS), network
centric systems (NCS), space and airborne systems (SAS), intelligence and information systems (IIS),
and technical services (TS) (Raytheon s Website). The ability to

Jerusalem And The West Bank
Research In Jerusalem and the West Bank, there are many holy sites that are considered to be sacred to
the Christian faith, Jewish faith as well as the Islamic faith. Those sites include: The Dome of the
Rock, Al Aqsa Mosque, The Western (Wailing) Wall, and many others. The land of Jerusalem and the
West Bank is also thought to be sacred in their own rights due to the history of who has occupied these
areas in the past. Each one of these sites is seen as very sacred in the international world. Recent acts
of violence have plagued this area. These acts have led to deaths on all sides. There needs to be a
protection of access to these sites for all people that see it as sacred: The Muslims, The Christians, and
also The Jewish population. This site is in a lot of danger because of its location, of the ambiguity
about who is in control of which part. There s a lot of violence going on in the West Bank. There are
thousands of Palestinians in the streets now that there have seen so many acts of violence. The recent
reporting s feature single independent attacks from young Palestinian men. In the past, there have been
more collective acts of violence, but now a day there are single independent person s. Due to these
actions of violence, the citizens have continued to riot. This has probed police interaction with the
protesting rioters and again more violence. A Political solution that many experts believe is needed in
order to correctly combat this issue there have been many

The Euphio Question By Kurt Vonnegut Analysis
Imagine if there is a device that can make a person happy with a small price to pay. That device is
created in the passage The Euphio Question by Kurt Vonnegut. The Euphio device makes the people
in the story feel calm and peaceful. If I were on the FCC board deciding whether to allow manufacture
and distribution of the Euphio device, I would only have a limited production. In the passage The
Euphio Question by Kurt Vonnegut, the Euphio device makes the people in the story feel peaceful. In
the passage, Vonnegut writes that The noise from space when he turned that on, everything just

Abstract 2d Photonic Crystal ( Pc ) Based Power Splitter
Abstract 2D photonic crystal (PC) based power splitter with 60° bend corners is designed and
analyzed. The splitting efficiency at its bends has been improved by encapsulating rectangular defect,
thereby increasing the power transmission of about 98.1%. A simple antiresonant reflecting optical
waveguide (ARROW B) is a polarization insensitive wave guiding, which utilizes antiresonance
reflection and provides better coupling when compared with conventional wave guiding. We
performed three dimensional finite difference time domain (3 D FDTD) simulation to calculate the
power transmission of Y splitter with ARROW B which is about 93.3%. The PC thus designed can
provides good sharp bend ability and power split ability.

Light propagation in photonic crystal waveguide (PCW) is possible in terms of artificially induced
defect region [3], However, by incorporating defects in the waveguide, certain wavelengths belong to
the band gap can propagate strictly within the defects. The defects can be in the form of line defects to
achieve photonic crystal waveguides or point defects producing optical cavities. We have presented an
efficient power splitter, which divides the propagating optical power equally between the two
branching line defects.
Whereas, an important crisis in power splitter is that how light get efficiently transmitted via the bend
corners. For that various methods have been proposed i. Providing row of pores with smaller diameter
ii. Coupled cavity design and iii. Three pore rows wide defect [2]. Although these techniques can
significantly increase the splitting efficiency, complicated time consuming computation is needed,
consequently an alternate method is proposed to improve the power split ability by incorporating
rectangular capsule shaped defect at its bends [4]. These defects with higher refractive index contrast
provide better reflection as compared to that of other methods mentioned. Besides the main source of
propagation losses in 2D PCW has been believed to be the guided modes position above the light line,
since modes above the light line can easily

How Poems Create Thoughts And Thoughts
Poems create Thoughts and Thoughts create Poems
When we think of poems we often think of a rhythm, rhymes, or of short reads that come together
almost in a lyrical and musical type of way. Today s modern poems are much different because they
incorporate different types of techniques and literary ways of making a piece of writing into a poem.
Through poetry many poets tend to have a deeper connection with themselves and their readers
because they express their thoughts, feelings and memories through their close selection of words.
Many people believe a poem should be composed of a specific and limiting number of lines and
techniques. Poems such as those like The Homecoming, The Feud, and The Pact are incorporating
new ways of making a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These poems in particular may seem to many like they limits themselves in terms of length because
they are written as a poem instead of a prose but behind every word and line in the poems there is so
much meaning hidden behind it. While reading these poems the reader may find themselves analyzing
and looking closer to what they are reading. In The Homecoming by Dana Gioia there is symbolism
incorporated by using lines such as Sensing the power melting from my arms, I realized the energy I
felt was just adrenaline by choosing to use metaphors and similes the author reveals a few aspects of
the poem but leaves the rest for the readers to interpret (Dana Gioia, The Homecoming ). By choosing
to write their stories as poems instead of in prose the authors are reaching out to a specific yet sparse
and limited audience of readers that can still analyze and interpret their poems.
Another reason the authors of the poems The Homecoming, The Feud, and The Pact chose to write
their stories as poems instead of prose is to emphasize the emotion behind their words. As stated in the
article Poems are a form of writing that s often rich with emotion, and they re meant to provoke an
emotional response from the reader and this further reinforces why all three authors chose poetry
because it emphasizes and correctly portray the extremity of their poems content ( National Writing
Project ). As poems these various

Differences Between 16th and 19th Century Imperialism
The Differences Between 16th and 19th Century Imperialism and their Effects on the World Today.

1. What is imperialism ? How did 19th century colonialism, empire building, high imperialism differ
from those of earlier times: in particular from the colonialism of early modern mercantilism (16th
to18th centuries)?

For example, the original thirteen colonies that Britain established on North America s east coast have
gone on to become the world s main superpower, the United States of America. Britain s colony in
China, Hong Kong, has gone on to become Asia s premiere financial center with Singapore (another
British jewel) trailing just behind. Even Britain s prisoners set up the only first world country in the
Southern Hemisphere, Australia! Compare this to Spain s imperial efforts, for example Mexico is the
only third world country in North America and has always struggled to overcome a legal system
plagued with corruption. Why is it that the British colonies were so successful and the colonies of
other countries such failures in comparison? I feel the answer to that is British law. British law has
been a keystone in these colonies success. Their political ideals have helped sculpt the success stories
of the modern world, albeit there have been some failures such as India and Rhodesia where there
were civilians revolting against their new leaders. The British education system helped produce a new
class of educated Africans and Asians that were able seek employment once they had completed their
schooling.
16th Century Imperialism
Imperialism in the fifteenth century was new and exciting, the rules were unwritten. People believed
back then that the civilized world back owed it to the rest of the world

Social Isolation In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
A block of unmoving ice sits waiting until someone makes use of it. For an unknowledgeable amount
of time it spends its existence waiting. Waiting, waiting, waiting. Finally, it melts and no one discovers
it. Ice cannot converse, it cannot socialize. Conversing is to talk and mingle with others. Socializing
does not necessarily indicate conversation, but within spoken word is what the hoi polloi thinks of
when they hear let s socialize with the other members. Language acquisition is a crucial structure in
social psychology; however, before the discovery and subsequent study of a young girl, known
pseudonymously as Genie, the field of study had little development. Genie spent the first thirteen
years of her life as ice. Ignored, spurned, and utterly isolated by her parents, Genie could not talk
because she was never taught. As a result of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Much of Frankensteins loneliness has been attributed to his ugliness. A study co partnered with the
University of Chicago states, socially active, popular, and connected individuals are also healthier and
more physically appealing and intelligent than are individuals who perceive themselves to be
relatively socially isolated, meaning social isolation has a tremendous affect on health and happiness
(Cacioppo 4). The effects of social isolation are physiological as well as psychological. This may also
explain why Mary Shelley gave her creature a burning ambition to make Victor s life a living, flame
consumed Hell. Frankenstein s monster has psychological defense mechanisms. A psychological
defense mechanism is a coping technique that helps one maintain his or her self esteem (Perlman).
Projection, a defense mechanism, of the monster s feelings of remoteness and inadequacy upon Victor

Ella Baker Civil Rights Movement Summary
When students from the University of Greensboro, North Carolina, staged a sit in to integrate lunch
counters at F. W. Woolworth stores, they had no idea they were laying the foundation for Baker to
organize the first student led social activist group in the nation. The four students staged their
demonstration on February 1, 1960, and within only a few weeks, nearly 300 more students had staged
similar sit ins across the country. Because of such an overwhelming response, Baker convinced the
SCLC executives to organize student protest groups as the energetic and self governing arm of the
Civil Rights Movement where she would serve as their mentor and advisor. Ella Baker s ability to
think spontaneously and envision the potential of a movement was evidenced by her foresight to see a
shift in the political climate with the student led sit in movement. Baker encouraged students to see
themselves as the main facilitators for change. Because of this catalyst, the students adopted that same
group centered viewpoint and formed an organization named the Student Nonviolent Coordinating
Committee or SNCC. The group recognized Baker as their founding mother.
Following the successful launch of SNCC, in March of 1964, Baker worked to lay the groundwork for
the Freedom Summer initiatives. Because of Baker s commitment to building community, one of the

The Strength of an Electromagnet Essay
The Strength of an Electromagnet
Introduction:
[IMAGE]An electric current flowing through a wire produces a magnetic field. Coiling the wire
produces a stronger magnetic field. Coiling it around a soft iron core increases the strength effect;
raising the current or the number of coils increases it further.
I am going to investigate the raising of the current and how it affects an electromagnet.
I think the electromagnet will produce a stronger magnetic filed and pick up more iron fillings.
Aim:
To investigate factors which affect the strength of the electromagnet and make the strongest
electromagnet possible.
Apparatus:

· Leads
· Power Pack ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The higher the voltage means the size of current will increase too. The stronger the magnetic field, the
more filings will be attracted by the electromagnet. When the coils will be evenly spread across the
rod, the current across the rod and the magnetic field will be even.
Method:
The apparatus will be set up to form a circuit, as below:
I will use an iron rod and make (5) coils around the rod with a piece of wire. They will be spread as
evenly as possible across the rod. The ends of the wire will then be connected to the circuit with
crocodile clips. The voltage on the power pack will be turned onto 0.5 amps. As this is the ampere
reading from the power pack, it may not be exactly 0.5A, which is why a voltmeter has been added so
the actual number of amps could be measured each time. This will also be written in the results table.
When the current is switched on, I will hold the rod from one end and put the other end into a beaker
full of iron filings, allowing it to pick up as many filings as possible. The mass of the nails picked up
will be weighed on an electronic scale and recorded. This will be repeated 2 times so a precise average
can be taken. The same experiment will be carried out, increasing the voltage by 0.5 amps each time,
up to 7 amps. All of these will be written to 1 decimal point.
Fair Test:
In order to keep the experiment a fair test I

Analysis Of Grendel And The Epic Of Beowulf
Merriam Webster defines a hero as a person who is admired for great or brave acts and defines a
villain as a character who does bad things. These definitions may not be so indubitable as John
Gardner takes a hero and villain to a whole new level in his novel, Grendel. Throughout the years of
novels and short stories, heroes and villains have been constructed as strictly good versus evil, but
what if there is good in evil and evil in good? Grendel and the epic, Beowulf, revolve around this idea
of heroes and villains and good versus evil. Gardner s twist on the stereotypical hero leads to the true
definition of a hero being changed as he creates one who has a nihilistic view on his atypical life. A
hero in the eyes of the Anglo Saxons has superman strength, undertakes a great quest which relates to
society s values, battles a great monster, and is required to pay homage to a god. Beowulf makes it
black and white on whom the hero and villain are; Beowulf being the wonderful hero who kills the
inimical villain, Grendel. Gardner s novel, Grendel, has a skewed view on who the hero and villain
Gardner uses the villain from Beowulf and creates a novel around him and his viewpoints on his
world. However Grendel fits almost perfectly into the characteristics of a hero, according to the Anglo
Saxons. He posses super strength which is demonstrated through the altercations he has with man. In
fact, man is Grendel s evil or villain. Chapter one includes examples to prove Grendel s

Calpurnia Julius Caesar
At the end of Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare, Antony refers to Brutus by saying, This was the

frankly, I would think that Calpurnia Caesar, the 3rd and Last wife of Julius would be. She is a caring

The Principal Crusades
The Crusades were a series of Holy Wars launched by the Christian states of Europe against the
Saracens and the rescuing of holy places of Palestine from the hands of the Mohammedans. (Alchin 1)
There were eight Crusades in number; the first four were sometimes called the Principal Crusades, and
the remaining four were the called the Minor Crusades. (Alchin 1) The Principal Crusades, however,
were considered to be the most important. (Alchin 1) The Principal Crusades started because of key
people or key events, which led to affect history. Every crusade contained key people, which helped
spark the crusades, or contained key leaders that were important in conquering them. The first impulse

(Alchin 6) Then the grand assault came. The first assault made by the Christians upon the walls of the
city was repulsed; but the second was successful, and the city was in the hands of the crusaders by

(Alchin 7)
The fall and massacre of the city of Edessa sparked the second crusade. In the year 1146, the city of
Edessa, the bulwark of the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem on the side towards Mesopotamia, was taken
by the Turks, and the entire population was slaughtered, or sold into slavery. (Alchin 9) This disaster
threw the entire West into a state of the greatest alarm, lest the little Christian state and all the holy
places should again fall into the hands of the infidels. (Alchin 9) The second crusade, though begun
under the most favorable auspices, had an unhappy ending. (Alchin 12) Of the great host that set out
from Europe, only a few thousands escaped annihilation in Asia Minor at the hands of the Turks.
(Alchin 12) Louis and Conrad, with the remnants of their armies, made a joint attack on Damascus,
but had to raise the siege after a few days. (Alchin 12) This closed the second crusade.
The capture of Jerusalem by Saladin stimulated the third crusade. Having made himself sultan of
Egypt, Saladin united the Moslems of Syria under his sway and then advanced against the Latin
Kingdom of Jerusalem.

Essay about Bravely J. Silver s Forces of Labour
There are several sociological theories in the study of contemporary labor unrest. However, this essay
will start off to examine the rationale of capital mobility and labor transformation processes, as a
coherent point of departure. To what extent is this approach significant? A simple answer is the
sociological framework of Silver (2003), which is our central focus, is in contrast with the above
approaches. Therefore, it s imperative to provide an overview of what Silver was critical about. Silver
conceived that the above approaches and numerous other literatures about labor unrest and
globalization comprise severe methodological ramifications. Contrary to these she states that a
coherent methodology should be able to situate ways in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The last section
In this section, we aim to explain ways in which the conceptualization of the race to bottom generates
different sociological interpretations. Although proponents of this thesis contradicts each other in
abstractions, yet they agreed that the impact of the late twentieth century has led to what Zolberg
(1995) calls an entire extinction of the social fabric, which sustains working class formation (cited in
Silver, 2003:1). The most polemic explanation to this trend, however, is central to the impact of capital
mobility and modifications of modern processes of a global capital accumulation; of which both
ushered under the archetype of what Silver calls the rubric of globalization (2003). In the analysis that
follows, we shall evaluate the degree to which hypermobility of productive capital is hyped in
explicating contemporary labor unrest. To this extent, we can now turn to explore the effect of
Multinational Corporations on existing labor unrest.
It has been shown that multinational corporations did enhance a thriving global job market, yet it has
unleashed a terminal effect to the traditional characteristics of working class. To this extent, global
workers were not only forced into frantic competition, but their most influential instrument barging
power has been diametrically devalued (2003:4). Buttressing this view, the

Mishim A Life In Four Chapters
Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters is a film based on both the life of Yukio Mishima and three of the
books that he wrote during his career as an acclaimed Japanese author. The four books with stories
featured in the film are The Temple of the Golden Pavilion, Kyoko s House, and Runaway Horses.
The film uses several different stylistic devices to represent the shift in narrative from Mishima s life
to his stories, such as how flashbacks to his past are depicted in black and white, while the present day
and the stories from his novels are in color. Each story is also used to reflect a certain time or strongly
held belief in Mishima s life, such as how the protagonist in Runaway Horses is also obsessed with
returning Japan to its imperial past. The movie showcases several different characteristics of Japanese
culture, such as the importance of Kinkaku ji, the carrying of swords, and sexuality. Mishima: A Life
in Four Chapters was directed and primarily produced by Americans, including the famous George
Lucas serving as an executive producer. This could be surprising to some viewers because the film ...

Ultra High Temperature Ceramics (UHTC) Essay
Ultra high temperature ceramics (UHTCs) are materials rarely found in nature, characterized by high
melting points, hardness, thermal conductivities (if compared to other ceramics), good wear resistance
and mechanical strength.1,2,3 Besides, they are chemically and thermally stable under a variety of
conditions due to their high negative free energy of formation.1,3
The materials that fit in these criteria are ceramics compounds made of borides, nitrides and carbides.
As a result of having those properties, this class of material can be applied in extreme environments
such as extreme temperatures, chemical reactivity and erosive attack. Because of that, in the 1950 s,
studies started to analyze the possibility of using them to coat ... Show more content on

From equation 1 is possible to affirm that the reaction is thermodynamically possible to occur in

Another route can be used to synthesized diborides, in which elemental precursor powders are used to

Zr + 2B → ZrBr2 reaction 2
This direct reaction is highly exothermic (∆H0298K= 323 kJ) and the heat produced is enough to
ignite a self propagation reaction, also known as combustion synthesis, so the reaction need an amount
of energy to start, but once started it can

Strategies for a Tea exporting company.
The blue ocean strategy is a new way of thinking and a new path to wining the future. It s about
creating a new market instead of competing with existing ones while keeping the costs low. Moreover,
it enables us to concentrate on the creation of new markets via new offerings, with the aim being to
make the competition irrelevant so that an organization can grow.

Differentiating Tic Disorders Essay
Differentiating Tic Disorders
Is it possible to differentiate Tourette tics from non Tourette tics? Are all tics the same? What is a tic?
What does a tic feel like? How does ticcing affect a person s sense of self or I Function ? Are Tic
Disorders Inherited?
A tic is a repetitive, uncontrollable, purposeless contraction of an individual muscle or group of
muscles, usually in the face, arms, or shoulders. These movements may be signs of a minor
psychological disturbance. Such tics often occur in childhood and will probably be outgrown. There
are also tics that are caused by neurological disorders that could have resulted from brain damage at
birth, head trauma, or use of some specific medication (1). Tic disorders may be ... Show more content

These tics are more noticeable during stressful, fatiguing or emotional times (2). Boys are three to four
times more likely to be affected than girls. Transient tics usually do not last for more than one year,
although it is not uncommon to have these episodes over the course of several years. For many
children, the symptoms never go beyond blinking and sniffing (or similar choices) and are often
described as nervous habits or allergy symptoms.
Chronic tic disorders are differentiated from transient tic disorders in that their duration is over many
years and the behavior is unchanging. With transient tic disorder, the tic may change from one type to
another, (sniffing may be replaced by forehead furrowing and then the furrowing is replaced by finger
snapping), while in chronic tic disorder the tic remains the same for a very long time.
Chronic multiple tics present often, and in series. Sometimes it is difficult to draw distinctions
between transient, chronic and chronic multiple tics (2).
Tourette Syndrome (TS), first described by Gilles de la Tourette, can be the most debilitating of the tic
disorders and is characterized by multiform, frequently changing motor and vocal or phonic tics.
There are multiple diagnostic criteria, as defined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental
Disorders IV.

Linda Tirado On Child Rearing
More than 16 million children in the United States 22% of all children live in families with incomes
below the federal poverty level $23,550 a year for a family of four. Research shows that, on average,
families need an income of about twice that level to cover basic expenses. Using this standard, 45% of
children live in low income families ( NCCP Child Poverty ). With these alarming statistics it should
be no question as to whether if one is living in poverty should one be having children. The importance
of proper child rearing is essential to child development. In the novel, Hand to Mouth by Linda
Tirado, having children while in poverty is one of the topics addressed. Although Tirado attempts to
justify someone having a child while ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One counter argument, even stated in Hand to Mouth, is that people have children for love and
comfort. Many people who live in poverty are alone and on their own. By having children, they will
have someone in their life who will finally love them unconditionally. Tirado states Why does anyone
have a second child, or a third? Because their family feels unfinished (Tirado 105). Having a child
may give someone a reason to try harder to make more money in order to provide for a better life.
Another argument is poverty does not always necessarily mean neglect. A child will still be cared for
and loved to the best of the parents ability regardless of income. No matter how much money one
makes this does not take away from their ability to parent. Lastly, everyone has the biological instinct
to have children to continue their lineage. Evolution is the driving forces behind the desire to have
children. If people stopped having children, not only will their lineage die out, but it reduces the
amount of genetic variation. Summarized by Ker Than, Charles Darwin stated that organisms change
over time as a result of changes in heritable physical or behavioral traits. Changes that allow an
organism to better adapt to its environment will help it survive and have more offspring

5. The stones are mentioned five times near the beginning of the story and then five or six times more
at the end. Why is their presence so important? What are the historical/biblical associations of stoning
? Do they apply in this situation?
The importance of stones being mentioned so much is the author is trying to keep the reader informed
that someone is going to get hurt or killed. Adding to that, the author never actually states what the
stones are supposed to be used for, that kept in mind; the reader can come to a realization at the end of
the story. The historical/biblical associations of stoning are when back in the old times, someone
persecuted of a crime or a non believer of a religion would be stoned to death. These associations
apply in this situation because that s what s happening but they do not make sense because the
individual being stoned has not committed any wrongdoing to be persecuted.

While there were many benefits of French control, the negatives made a lasting effect.
Without the intervention of the French, Cambodia could have become integrated into another South
Asian country, and disappear as a sovereign nation. (Cambodia Tribunal) While the French seem to be
a blessing to Cambodia, the few negative effects created the poor, naive Cambodia that Pol Pot came
to power in. In the early 20th century, education was severely neglected. Over time, it was slightly
increased, but was never up to par. According to Cambodia, a Country Study, there was only one
institution of higher learning in Cambodia in 1950. The country was not educated. The Khmer
Rouge/Democratic Party of Campuchea s Socio Communist ideas took advantage of the
unknowledgeable Cambodians, and ended up herding them like sheep, eventually leading them to

not know what to do when independence finally arrived at their front door in 1945.
Under the rule of Prince Sihanouk, the government that had declared independance from France,
Cambodia had remained neutral during the Vietnam War. They allowed the Viet Cong to use a

The Symbolic Interactionist View Of Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is a national and annual holiday where people express their gratitude and appreciation
towards family members, friends, significant others, their religion, their health, their education, or are
appreciative of what they have. Most of us are all aware that Thanksgiving is one of the happiest days
of the year because we all share a traditional meal with our family and often give thanks to our loved
ones. Typically, on this day interactions are what is primarily being focused on. Everyone is
communicating with one another about how grateful they are to have them in their lives and this
ultimately strengthens and provides reassurance to the relationship. The most important part about
Thanksgiving is that all families come together ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As symbolic interactionists believe, the emphasis of family reinforces and restores these bonds
through symbolic occasions. The symbolic interactionist perspective strongly believes that such
holidays like Thanksgiving or Christmas strengthen an individual s bond with others due to the social
interactions taking place during the family meals and holidays. From this past Thanksgiving
experience, I can thoroughly agree with the symbolic interactionists on their claim about how vital
family interactions are. Throughout the night, I observed how everyone was communicating with one
another and building better emotional bonds together. Disputes aside, everyone just enjoys the holiday
and reminisce about memories of the past holidays. I, for one, was forming closer bonds with my
cousins that have not really played a role in my life. We all happily ate and later played games
together as a family. Therefore, I cherish moments and memories like these because not only do I
become closer with my family members, although, I can look back and remember all the great and
special times we all shared together. Conclusively, interactions are extremely important to establish a

The Effect Of Aerobic Exercise On Aerobic Capacity
INTRODUCTION
The body constantly needs energy to work. This energy, at the cellular level, supplied in the form of
chemical potential energy stored in ATP needs to be regeneration in order to fuel more cellular activity
and this can be done aerobically or anaerobically(Astrand 1956). Energy to sustain high intensity
workouts cannot eventually be fully supported by anaerobic pathways, resulting in an increased
reliance on aerobic metabolism (Bogdanis et al. 1996). The level of fitness to carry out anaerobic
exercises may be influenced by aerobic capacity (Kaikkonen et al.2000, Tomlin and Wegner 2011).
By discovering the relationship between anaerobic fitness and aerobic fitness. It should be possible for
athletes to think about taking an advantage by distributing their physical energy during a match
properly or, for any individuals to understand or make their personal fitness program.
The aim of this study is to compare the maximum number of push ups achieved by tested individuals
against their change in pulse rate measure before and after a moderate step up exercise; and determine
how the ability of anaerobic fitness influences aerobic exercise.
It was predicted that being anaerobically fit do not assist in aerobic exercise.
METHOD

A Study On The Concord Waterfall
Grenada is one of the islands in the Caribbean that has the potential to capture both local and foreign

in establishing this product on the market. This study is mainly based on the principles of
................................ and how it can be applied or is applied to the Concord Waterfall which is the
focus of my study. The Concord Waterfall is an ideal location to invest in the area of eco, health and
wellness tourism.
Presently, in the Caribbean region health and wellness sector has an estimated value of USD 180
million. Although the health and wellness sector has the ability to contribute significantly to the region
s development, it is still due to the lack of integrated strategies among the Caribbean countries to cater
to the development of this sector of the countries. To compare, Thailand s export of health and beauty
products in 2005 was estimated at $8.72 million USD according to Department of Export Promotion
while the Spa industry generated a staggering $155 million USD in revenue increasing year on year
(Tourism Intelligence International (TII) 2009). This trend stands to be the most compelling argument
for pursuing Wellness Tourism development in Grenada who is geographically much closer to the
significant USA and UK markets and speak the same language. (Russell, 2013)

Scientific Method and Sir Karl Popper
Sir Karl Popper, challenging the status quo, inspiring generations to ponder on the meaning of science,
the methods to find truth, is one of the most influential philosophers of the 20th century. Of particular
importance to scientific methods of inquiry is the brawl between the development of theory and the
criteria for science. In Popper s own words, it is in this brawl that Popper decided to grapple with the
problem: When should a theory be ranked as scientific? or Is there a criterion for the scientific
character or status of a theory? (Popper 1957), p. 1).
Born just after the turn of the century in 1902 (my Great Aunt was 4 at the time), in London, England,
Popper began grappling with the brawl between when is theory scientific ... Show more content on

The use of empirical methods and inductive explanations is the root cause for Popper s revolt upon the
metaphysical reasoning used to explain social behavior (at this time). It is not that astrology is a
pseudo science; astrology is merely a residue of the subject of the investigation (Popper 1952).
Disciplines are means of administratively distinguishing the unified systems from which problems
may be taught. It is far more important to understanding falsification that We are not students of a
subject matter but students of problems (Popper 1952)p. 125).
Traditionally, scientists formed hypotheses to explain or rationalize some natural phoneme that they
have observed. Popper intends that a hypothesis must predict a phenomenon or behavior and not just
offer to explain it. I believe that there is not a classic of science, or of mathematics, or indeed a book
worth reading that could not be shown, by a skillful application of the technique of language analysis,
to be full of meaningless pseudo propositions (Popper 1952), p. 130). Popper is positive that each
hypothesis has a possible contradiction. This sensitiveness to problems to the extent of having a
consuming passion for them fortifies Popper s revolt against merely accepting plausible and
rationalized results of observations.
For falsification to take place, the scientist must identify situations that falsify or negate the
hypothesis. Finally,

The analysis is based on two competing companies within the same industry. While these two companies compare in products and services, they do not relate in overall size. To assist in making an educating decision, many areas of each company were looked at. A comprehensive financial ratio analysis was completed for each company, as well as an evaluation of their strengths, weaknesses and future opportunities. While it is important to consider how a company manages its finances, it is equally important to consider its future prospects as well. Below you will find a brief description of each company, and an evaluation of their performance. All of this information will be concluded with which company may be the better investment prospect. Jerusalem And The West Bank Research In Jerusalem and the West Bank, there are many holy sites that are considered to be sacred to the Christian faith, Jewish faith as well as the Islamic faith. Those sites include: The Dome of the Rock, Al Aqsa Mosque, The Western (Wailing) Wall, and many others. The land of Jerusalem and the West Bank is also thought to be sacred in their own rights due to the history of who has occupied these areas in the past. Each one of these sites is seen as very sacred in the international world. Recent acts of violence have plagued this area. These acts have led to deaths on all sides. There needs to be a protection of access to these sites for all people that see it as sacred: The Muslims, The Christians, and also The Jewish population. This site is in a lot of danger because of its location, of the ambiguity about who is in control of which part. There s a lot of violence going on in the West Bank. There are thousands of Palestinians in the streets now that there have seen so many acts of violence. The recent reporting s feature single independent attacks from young Palestinian men. That device is created in the passage The Euphio Question by Kurt Vonnegut. The Euphio device makes the people in the story feel calm and peaceful. If I were on the FCC board deciding whether to allow manufacture and distribution of the Euphio device, I would only have a limited production. • 6. Abstract 2d Photonic Crystal ( Pc ) Based Power Splitter Abstract 2D photonic crystal (PC) based power splitter with 60° bend corners is designed and analyzed. The splitting efficiency at its bends has been improved by encapsulating rectangular defect, thereby increasing the power transmission of about 98.1%. A simple antiresonant reflecting optical waveguide (ARROW B) is a polarization insensitive wave guiding, which utilizes antiresonance reflection and provides better coupling when compared with conventional wave guiding. We performed three dimensional finite difference time domain (3 D FDTD) simulation to calculate the power transmission of Y splitter with ARROW B which is about 93.3%. The PC thus designed can provides good sharp bend ability and power split ability. Index Terms Power ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Light propagation in photonic crystal waveguide (PCW) is possible in terms of artificially induced defect region [3], However, by incorporating defects in the waveguide, certain wavelengths belong to the band gap can propagate strictly within the defects. The defects can be in the form of line defects to achieve photonic crystal waveguides or point defects producing optical cavities. We have presented an efficient power splitter, which divides the propagating optical power equally between the two branching line defects. Whereas, an important crisis in power splitter is that how light get efficiently transmitted via the bend corners. For that various methods have been proposed i. Providing row of pores with smaller diameter ii. Coupled cavity design and iii. Three pore rows wide defect [2]. Although these techniques can significantly increase the splitting efficiency, complicated time consuming computation is needed, consequently an alternate method is proposed to improve the power split ability by incorporating rectangular capsule shaped defect at its bends [4]. These defects with higher refractive index contrast provide better reflection as compared to that of other methods mentioned. Besides the main source of propagation losses in 2D PCW has been believed to be the guided modes position above the light line, since modes above the light line can easily ... How Poems Create Thoughts And Thoughts Poems create Thoughts and Thoughts create Poems When we think of poems we often think of a rhythm, rhymes, or of short reads that come together almost in a lyrical and musical type of way. Today s modern poems are much different because they incorporate different types of techniques and literary ways of making a piece of writing into a poem. Through poetry many poets tend to have a deeper connection with themselves and their readers because they express their thoughts, feelings and memories through their close selection of words. Many people believe a poem should be composed of a specific and limiting number of lines and techniques. Poems such as those like The Homecoming, The Feud, and The Pact are incorporating new ways of making a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These poems in particular may seem to many like they limits themselves in terms of length because they are written as a poem instead of a prose but behind every word and line in the poems there is so much meaning hidden behind it. While reading these poems the reader may find themselves analyzing and looking closer to what they are reading. In The Homecoming by Dana Gioia there is symbolism incorporated by using lines such as Sensing the power melting from my arms, I realized the energy I felt was just adrenaline by choosing to use metaphors and similes the author reveals a few aspects of the poem but leaves the rest for the readers to interpret (Dana Gioia, The Homecoming ). By choosing to write their stories as poems instead of in prose the authors are reaching out to a specific yet sparse and limited audience of readers that can still analyze and interpret their poems. Another reason the authors of the poems The Homecoming, The Feud, and The Pact chose to write their stories as poems instead of prose is to emphasize the emotion behind their words. As stated in the article Poems are a form of writing that s often rich with emotion, and they re meant to provoke an emotional response from the reader and this further reinforces why all three authors chose poetry because it emphasizes and correctly portray the extremity of their poems content ( National Writing Project ). For example, the original thirteen colonies that Britain established on North America s east coast have gone on to become the world s main superpower, the United States of America. Britain s colony in China, Hong Kong, has gone on to become Asia s premiere financial center with Singapore (another British jewel) trailing just behind. Even Britain s prisoners set up the only first world country in the Southern Hemisphere, Australia! Compare this to Spain s imperial efforts, for example Mexico is the only third world country in North America and has always struggled to overcome a legal system plagued with corruption. Why is it that the British colonies were so successful and the colonies of other countries such failures in comparison? I feel the answer to that is British law. British law has been a keystone in these colonies success. Their political ideals have helped sculpt the success stories of the modern world, albeit there have been some failures such as India and Rhodesia where there were civilians revolting against their new leaders. The British education system helped produce a new class of educated Africans and Asians that were able seek employment once they had completed their schooling. 16th Century Imperialism

Socializing does not necessarily indicate conversation, but within spoken word is what the hoi polloi thinks of when they hear let s socialize with the other members. Language acquisition is a crucial structure in social psychology; however, before the discovery and subsequent study of a young girl, known pseudonymously as Genie, the field of study had little development. Woolworth stores, they had no idea they were laying the foundation for Baker to organize the first student led social activist group in the nation. The four students staged their demonstration on February 1, 1960, and within only a few weeks, nearly 300 more students had staged similar sit ins across the country. Because of such an overwhelming response, Baker convinced the SCLC executives to organize student protest groups as the energetic and self governing arm of the Civil Rights Movement where she would serve as their mentor and advisor. Ella Baker s ability to think spontaneously and envision the potential of a movement was evidenced by her foresight to see a shift in the political climate with the student led sit in movement. Baker encouraged students to see themselves as the main facilitators for change. Because of this catalyst, the students adopted that same group centered viewpoint and formed an organization named the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee or SNCC. • 17. Analysis Of Grendel And The Epic Of Beowulf Merriam Webster defines a hero as a person who is admired for great or brave acts and defines a villain as a character who does bad things. These definitions may not be so indubitable as John Gardner takes a hero and villain to a whole new level in his novel, Grendel. Throughout the years of novels and short stories, heroes and villains have been constructed as strictly good versus evil, but what if there is good in evil and evil in good? Grendel and the epic, Beowulf, revolve around this idea of heroes and villains and good versus evil. Gardner s twist on the stereotypical hero leads to the true definition of a hero being changed as he creates one who has a nihilistic view on his atypical life. A hero in the eyes of the Anglo Saxons has superman strength, undertakes a great quest which relates to society s values, battles a great monster, and is required to pay homage to a god. Beowulf makes it black and white on whom the hero and villain are; Beowulf being the wonderful hero who kills the inimical villain, Grendel. Gardner s novel, Grendel, has a skewed view on who the hero and villain Gardner uses the villain from Beowulf and creates a novel around him and his viewpoints on his world. However Grendel fits almost perfectly into the characteristics of a hero, according to the Anglo Saxons. He posses super strength which is demonstrated through the altercations he has with man. However, this essay will start off to examine the rationale of capital mobility and labor transformation processes, as a coherent point of departure. To what extent is this approach significant? A simple answer is the sociological framework of Silver (2003), which is our central focus, is in contrast with the above approaches. Therefore, it s imperative to provide an overview of what Silver was critical about. Although proponents of this thesis contradicts each other in abstractions, yet they agreed that the impact of the late twentieth century has led to what Zolberg (1995) calls an entire extinction of the social fabric, which sustains working class formation (cited in Silver, 2003:1). The most polemic explanation to this trend, however, is central to the impact of capital mobility and modifications of modern processes of a global capital accumulation; of which both ushered under the archetype of what Silver calls the rubric of globalization (2003). In the analysis that follows, we shall evaluate the degree to which hypermobility of productive capital is hyped in explicating contemporary labor unrest. To this extent, we can now turn to explore the effect of Multinational Corporations on existing labor unrest. It has been shown that multinational corporations did enhance a thriving global job market, yet it has unleashed a terminal effect to the traditional characteristics of working class. To this extent, global workers were not only forced into frantic competition, but their most influential instrument barging power has been diametrically devalued (2003:4). Transient tics usually do not last for more than one year, although it is not uncommon to have these episodes over the course of several years. For many children, the symptoms never go beyond blinking and sniffing (or similar choices) and are often described as nervous habits or allergy symptoms. Chronic tic disorders are differentiated from transient tic disorders in that their duration is over many years and the behavior is unchanging. With transient tic disorder, the tic may change from one type to another, (sniffing may be replaced by forehead furrowing and then the furrowing is replaced by finger snapping), while in chronic tic disorder the tic remains the same for a very long time. Chronic multiple tics present often, and in series. Sometimes it is difficult to draw distinctions between transient, chronic and chronic multiple tics (2). Tourette Syndrome (TS), first described by Gilles de la Tourette, can be the most debilitating of the tic disorders and is characterized by multiform, frequently changing motor and vocal or phonic tics. There are multiple diagnostic criteria, as defined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders IV. A. • 31. Linda Tirado On Child Rearing More than 16 million children in the United States 22% of all children live in families with incomes below the federal poverty level $23,550 a year for a family of four. Research shows that, on average, families need an income of about twice that level to cover basic expenses. Using this standard, 45% of children live in low income families ( NCCP Child Poverty ). With these alarming statistics it should be no question as to whether if one is living in poverty should one be having children. The importance of proper child rearing is essential to child development. In the novel, Hand to Mouth by Linda Tirado, having children while in poverty is one of the topics addressed. Although Tirado attempts to justify someone having a child while ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One counter argument, even stated in Hand to Mouth, is that people have children for love and comfort. Many people who live in poverty are alone and on their own. By having children, they will have someone in their life who will finally love them unconditionally. Tirado states Why does anyone have a second child, or a third? Because their family feels unfinished (Tirado 105). Having a child may give someone a reason to try harder to make more money in order to provide for a better life. Another argument is poverty does not always necessarily mean neglect. A child will still be cared for and loved to the best of the parents ability regardless of income. No matter how much money one makes this does not take away from their ability to parent. Lastly, everyone has the biological instinct to have children to continue their lineage. Evolution is the driving forces behind the desire to have children. If people stopped having children, not only will their lineage die out, but it reduces the amount of genetic variation. Summarized by Ker Than, Charles Darwin stated that organisms change over time as a result of changes in heritable physical or behavioral traits. Changes that allow an organism to better adapt to its environment will help it survive and have more offspring ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Have you observed this dynamic in your own work, school, church, or family groups? Yes this dynamic appears in some schools where a child or any student for that matter is bullied or singled out. Some peoples working conditions could possibly have a group malfunction as in co workers can be racist to one another. 2. We are told a lot about the lottery, but not its exact purpose. The stones are mentioned five times near the beginning of the story and then five or six times more at the end. Why is their presence so important? What are the historical/biblical associations of stoning ? Do they apply in this situation? The importance of stones being mentioned so much is the author is trying to keep the reader informed that someone is going to get hurt or killed. Adding to that, the author never actually states what the stones are supposed to be used for, that kept in mind; the reader can come to a realization at the end of the story. The historical/biblical associations of stoning are when back in the old times, someone persecuted of a crime or a non believer of a religion would be stoned to death. These associations apply in this situation because that s what s happening but they do not make sense because the individual being stoned has not committed any wrongdoing to be persecuted. 6. Which characters seem to stand for particular ideas or views? What about Old Man Warner? Look at his speeches and comments throughout the story. In a four year period, over 1.7 million Cambodians died of overwork, starvation, torture and execution. Pol Pot s Communist ideals, extremely similar to the Stalinist USSR, called for a total collectivization of agriculture and for a complete nationalization of all sectors of the economy. Pol Pot s ideology, Socialist Agrarianism, valued farmers, and wanted to rid the country of all other professions. Pol Pot was creating a complete Communist society without wasting time on the intermediate steps, as the Khmer Rouge said to China in 1975 (Kiernan, Ben). While there were many benefits of French control, the negatives made a lasting effect. Without the intervention of the French, Cambodia could have become integrated into another South Asian country, and disappear as a sovereign nation. In the early 20th century, education was severely neglected. Over time, it was slightly increased, but was never up to par. According to Cambodia, a Country Study, there was only one institution of higher learning in Cambodia in 1950. The country was not educated. The Khmer Rouge/Democratic Party of Campuchea s Socio Communist ideas took advantage of the unknowledgeable Cambodians, and ended up herding them like sheep, eventually leading them to their death. French colonists did not allow Cambodians to participate in the government, so they did not know what to do when independence finally arrived at their front door in 1945. Under the rule of Prince Sihanouk, the government that had declared independance from France, Cambodia had remained neutral during the Vietnam War. • 34. The Symbolic Interactionist View Of Thanksgiving Thanksgiving is a national and annual holiday where people express their gratitude and appreciation towards family members, friends, significant others, their religion, their health, their education, or are appreciative of what they have. Most of us are all aware that Thanksgiving is one of the happiest days of the year because we all share a traditional meal with our family and often give thanks to our loved ones. Typically, on this day interactions are what is primarily being focused on. Everyone is communicating with one another about how grateful they are to have them in their lives and this ultimately strengthens and provides reassurance to the relationship. As symbolic interactionists believe, the emphasis of family reinforces and restores these bonds through symbolic occasions. The symbolic interactionist perspective strongly believes that such holidays like Thanksgiving or Christmas strengthen an individual s bond with others due to the social interactions taking place during the family meals and holidays. From this past Thanksgiving experience, I can thoroughly agree with the symbolic interactionists on their claim about how vital family interactions are. Throughout the night, I observed how everyone was communicating with one another and building better emotional bonds together. Disputes aside, everyone just enjoys the holiday and reminisce about memories of the past holidays. I, for one, was forming closer bonds with my cousins that have not really played a role in my life. We all happily ate and later played games together as a family. Therefore, I cherish moments and memories like these because not only do I become closer with my family members, although, I can look back and remember all the great and special times we all shared together. Conclusively, interactions are extremely important to establish a strong relationship whether it being family, friends, significant others, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. The Effect Of Aerobic Exercise On Aerobic Capacity INTRODUCTION The body constantly needs energy to work. This energy, at the cellular level, supplied in the form of chemical potential energy stored in ATP needs to be regeneration in order to fuel more cellular activity and this can be done aerobically or anaerobically(Astrand 1956). Energy to sustain high intensity workouts cannot eventually be fully supported by anaerobic pathways, resulting in an increased reliance on aerobic metabolism (Bogdanis et al. 1996). The level of fitness to carry out anaerobic exercises may be influenced by aerobic capacity (Kaikkonen et al.2000, Tomlin and Wegner 2011). By discovering the relationship between anaerobic fitness and aerobic fitness. It should be possible for athletes to think about taking an advantage by distributing their physical energy during a match properly or, for any individuals to understand or make their personal fitness program. The aim of this study is to compare the maximum number of push ups achieved by tested individuals against their change in pulse rate measure before and after a moderate step up exercise; and determine how the ability of anaerobic fitness influences aerobic exercise. It was predicted that being anaerobically fit do not assist in aerobic exercise. METHOD Refer to the School of Biological Sciences (2015). See Appendix 1 for Null and Alternate hypotheses RESULTS There is a total of 137 tested individuals involved. There are 49 observations who did less than 25 push ups and a number of 88 ... A Study On The Concord Waterfall Grenada is one of the islands in the Caribbean that has the potential to capture both local and foreign markets in terms of Eco, Health and Wellness Tourism, but there are some challenges that have ensued in establishing this product on the market. This study is mainly based on the principles of ................................ and how it can be applied or is applied to the Concord Waterfall which is the focus of my study. The Concord Waterfall is an ideal location to invest in the area of eco, health and wellness tourism. Presently, in the Caribbean region health and wellness sector has an estimated value of USD 180 million. Although the health and wellness sector has the ability to contribute significantly to the region s development, it is still due to the lack of integrated strategies among the Caribbean countries to cater to the development of this sector of the countries. To compare, Thailand s export of health and beauty products in 2005 was estimated at $8.72 million USD according to Department of Export Promotion while the Spa industry generated a staggering $155 million USD in revenue increasing year on year (Tourism Intelligence International (TII) 2009). The game was highly revolutionary at the time for its highly detailed world and how it let players engage so well in this world which gave non Japanese players an insight of how things were in the mid 80s in Japan. Still to this day, the game blows my mind away at how much detail was put into 3 GD Roms! As mentioned before, Ryo s main goal is to search for his father s killer, Lan Di. But there are several subplots that occur throughout the game. He needs to first find any info about the car Lan Di drove and see if anyone knows about it, see if any of the residents knows Chinese, earn some money to go to Hong Kong, stop some thugs that are terrorizing the harbors, and what is behind those Dragon mirrors. In terms of gameplay, its very simple the overall premise is to look for clues by doing certain task, talking to certain people, and looking around the city all this being written inside Ryo s journal as a reference guide throughout the game. • 38. Scientific Method and Sir Karl Popper Sir Karl Popper, challenging the status quo, inspiring generations to ponder on the meaning of science, the methods to find truth, is one of the most influential philosophers of the 20th century. Of particular importance to scientific methods of inquiry is the brawl between the development of theory and the criteria for science. In Popper s own words, it is in this brawl that Popper decided to grapple with the problem: When should a theory be ranked as scientific? or Is there a criterion for the scientific character or status of a theory? (Popper 1957), p. 1). Born just after the turn of the century in 1902 (my Great Aunt was 4 at the time), in London, England, Popper began grappling with the brawl between when is theory scientific ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The use of empirical methods and inductive explanations is the root cause for Popper s revolt upon the metaphysical reasoning used to explain social behavior (at this time). It is not that astrology is a pseudo science; astrology is merely a residue of the subject of the investigation (Popper 1952). Disciplines are means of administratively distinguishing the unified systems from which problems may be taught. It is far more important to understanding falsification that We are not students of a subject matter but students of problems (Popper 1952)p. 125). Traditionally, scientists formed hypotheses to explain or rationalize some natural phoneme that they have observed. Popper intends that a hypothesis must predict a phenomenon or behavior and not just offer to explain it. I believe that there is not a classic of science, or of mathematics, or indeed a book worth reading that could not be shown, by a skillful application of the technique of language analysis, to be full of meaningless pseudo propositions (Popper 1952), p. 130). Popper is positive that each hypothesis has a possible contradiction. This sensitiveness to problems to the extent of having a consuming passion for them fortifies Popper s revolt against merely accepting plausible and rationalized results of observations. For falsification to take place, the scientist must identify situations that falsify or negate the hypothesis. Finally, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
