Two concepts of equality must be distinguished according to Dworkin: the first is that the
government should treat all its citizens, or all those that are in its charge as equals, and the second
principle of equality requires that the government treat all of those in its charge equally in the
distribution of some resource of opportunity. Liberals sense of equality will fall more into the latter
idea of equality. The conservative feels that, treating citizens as equals, as the liberals see equality,
would amount to treating the citizens in fact as unequal. The most efficient means of helping the
least well off in fact is the free market, and not the government s redistribution of wealth.

Introduction
I am working as a trainee for The Hanover Design Company based in Westberry. They are a
design consultancy firm that has just started. The company was awarded a few contracts to design
the layout and marketing materials for 5 small organisations. As part of a team I have been asked to
design the layout and marketing materials for one of the small business.
In the following report I will state the necessary hardware, software and other devices that are
required to produce graphics for our clients and why they are needed.

A Graphics card is needed to render the graphics that will be created. Differed graphics Cards of
different prices can perform according to their price. Generally, the higher the price the better the
performance.
RAM
RAM is used to when running a program. An image editing program like Adobe Photoshop
requires RAM to perform the various task it needs when using it. Usually is recommended to have
8GB of RAM for heavy use of graphic making programs.

For the design of graphics a CPU is needed in order to execute the tasked that the editing

Anne Bradstreet And Puritan Writing Style
Faith has played an incredibly large role throughout all of American history. This is shown
especially in early America when the Puritans settled in North America. Writing in this time period
shows just how prominent faith is in this time period, as much of it directly alludes to the Bible.
Throughout the time period writingand beliefs evolved. This is highly noticeable when comparing
American poet Anne Bradstreet, and clergyman Jonathan Edwards. Bradstreet s works include
poems such as To My Dear and Loving Husband , and Upon the Burning of Our House, July 10th,
1666 and while Edwards wrote many sermons, the most famous is Sinners in the Hands of an
Angry God. These works differ in many ways, but many comparisons and contrasts can be made in
regards to writing styleand beliefs presented in these works.
The first major difference between these two writers is the major difference in their writing
styles. Though both are undoubtedly Puritan in style they hold many differences in how they
write, and what they write about. Anne Bradstreet s writing is seen as rather basic in it s
composition and rhyme scheme. The writing is in stanzas, much like other poetry, and the rhyme
is a very basic A A B B scheme, in To My Dear and Loving Husband she writes, If ever two were
one, then surely we./If ever man loved her wife, then thee; ( lines 1 2) these opening lines illustrate
the simplicity in her writing. Contrast this to the opening lines of Sinners in the Hands of an

The poem Not Waving But Drowning , by Stevie Smith, is a poem in which there is a drowning
man at sea. In this poem, the poet is talking about the difficulty of communication and the
fundamental isolation of the individual in modern society. The title of the poem gives us an
immediate indication that the poem will tackle a serious matter. The poem contains three voices;
the drowning man, the observers and the people on the beach. It can be interpreted on both a literal
and metaphorical level of meaning.

The pause after gave way , followed by the last line They said , indicates that other interpretations
are possible which really reflects what happened: that the man found life as too lonely or difficult
and gave up.
The observers completely misinterpret the situation. The people on the beach are unable to discern
the man s moments of joy from his moments of despair. We can interpret the phrase It must have
been too cold for him his heart gave way , in both a literal and figurative way. Literally, the
observers could be saying that the man has had a heart attack as a result of the cold temperature of
the water; figuratively, we might say that this unknown man lacked the warmth of human
relationships. His life was empty of love and warm feelings which has caused him to give up on life.
The third and final stanza shows us how desperate the man s situation has been, both past and
present. The repetition of no stresses this fact by underlining how he has always felt cold,
unloved, unappreciated and misunderstood. In fact he says I was much too far out all my life .
The water in which he drowns, symbolizes a barrier which separates him from the rest of society,
such as his inability to make friends. It could also symbolize his life, a life in which he could not
cope due to the various difficulties he was experiencing.

At some point in almost everyone s childhood, there is a moment of deliberate wrongdoing,
followed by panic and guilt. Perhaps it is standing on the water spout outside the house and
neglecting to inform an adult when the pipe breaks and spews water into the backyard. Maybe it
is lying to a parent about the whereabouts of a dollar after the ice cream truck goes by. For author
Gary Soto, it was stealing a piefrom the neighborhood grocery store. In his autobiography, Soto
recounts the story and emotions of his six year old self taking an apple pie off the rack and
walking home with it, only to be overwhelmed by a guilt ridden conscience. Throughout the
narrative, Soto uses imagery and precise diction to recreate his experiences as a guilty... Show more
This changes with the appearance of Cross Eyed Johnny, a neighborhood boy who asks for some
pie and is denied. Soto continues to eat, but tears blurred [his] eyes as [he] remembered the
grocer s forehead . This time, the mention of tears is not because it was about the best thing [he]
had ever tasted but rather because he felt true guilt. He is reminded of the angelic grocer, and
even though he is beginning to feel horrible continues to stuff his face with pie. Cross Eyed
Johnny comments, your hands are dirty, before [climbing] his roof to watch the other boy eat.
This once again brings up the symbolism of dirty hands, as though they are tainted with sin. The
symbolism intensifies as Cross Eyed Johnny [jumps] off and [hobbles] away because the fall
had hurt him . This represents a fall from grace, for the young Soto has committed perhaps the
worst sin of his six year long life. He begins to feel paranoid and sees the pie tin [glaring] at [him]
and feeling his face sticky with guilt . The personification of the pie tin shows that the boy feels
like he is being watched and judged for his sin, and wet imagery is once again used to describe the

Wild animals are technically never a sign of something good. They are wild, ferocious creatures
craving for flesh, meat and blood. One wolf is bad, but a ring of wolves can be great trouble. Now

everything she does not have. Jewels, necklaces, and riches all the materialistic things that
Madame Loisel sought after her whole life, cause her to display an ungrateful attitude towards
herself and her husband. Once she finally receives something that she wanted, a beautiful
necklace borrowed from a friend, she loses it and in order to replace it, she becomes forced to
borrow more money from friends. Consequently, she had to spend many years of her life to pay
back every person she borrowed money from, when in result, the necklacewas a replica and was
