Introduction
The IASB conceptual framework is a framework of theories prepared by a standard
setting body aimed t dealing with practical problems faced by users of financial
statements; the characteristics of accounting information; the elements of financial
statements and concepts for measuring and reporting the elements such as assets and
liabilities (Financial Times 2017). The benefit is that uniform accounting standards
can be applied to deal with common accounting problems; have fewer standards to
reduce the volume of standards; help accountants and auditors to resolve accounting
issues. However one of the issues is the going concern assumption, which does not
appear to take into account more serious risks that an enterprise may be associated
with such as sustainability risks.
The problem/Change
One of the problems with the conceptual framework is that it does not address the
principle of sustainability within its going concern assumption even in the recent
Summary of Tentative Decisions related to the framework (IFRS 2017). Therefore it
is proposed that the conceptual framework

Patriotism In Julius Caesar
Effectiveness of Patriotism
Being Patriotic is a great thing until it goes bad. Over the course of the play The
Tragedy of Julius Caesar, Brutus was a very impactful character. He was one of the
main leaders of the conspiracy that killed Caesar. Brutus had a wife named Portia,
who later in the play died. After the conspiracy killed Caesar, there were two
speeches spoken one from Brutus and the other from Antony who was Caesar s right
hand man. Soon after the death of Caesar, Brutus and Antony fought in a battle
against each other. The battle lead to countless people left dead and Brutus kills
himself. During the play The Tragedy of Julius Caesar written by William
Shakespeare Brutus patriotism caused him to make decisions based on the good of
Rome, not thinking of others thoughts, or opinions including his own. Brutus made
an overwhelming amount of decisions based on the good of Rome, not
contemplating how it could affect or hurt himself or those around him. One
example of this is after Brutus and the conspirators killed Brutus he gave a speech.
In this speech he said, If then that friend demand why/ Brutus rose against Caesar,
this is my answer: Not/ that I loved Caesar less, but that I loved Rome more. (3.2.20
22). This quote is saying that the reason Brutus killed Caesar was not because he
disliked him, but because he thought it was for the good of Rome. Brutus made this
decision solely based on patriotism. He never thought about the effects or
consequences it

Bethany Van Delft Down Syndrome Essay
As a child, Down syndrome was a part of my everyday life. I was watched after
every day for the first ten years of my life by a women who was also looking after
her sister who had Down syndrome. To me it was nothing unusual. It wasn t until
about eighth grade that I realized that to other people it wasn t normal, it had a
negative connotation. Growing up around a person who has Down syndrome
made me see things differently than others. Once I realized not everyone else s
perspectives were the same as mine I became really aware of how others treated
and reacted to people with Down syndrome. Its years later and I came across a

Van Delft had started to find her daughter as just a normal child, so when she heard
some remarks from other people about children with Down syndrome she was
heartbroken. She heard remarks such as, But don t you want her to be with her
own kind? Van Delft couldn t believe what she had heard. She believed that all
other children were her kind. From that point on Van Delft was reluctant to take
her daughter places or even to discuss her problems. People only seemed to see the
disorder and not the carefree child that Lulu was. So she was a little reluctant to

Your genes are what makes you who you are because it is what is in your genes
that makes you unique. DNA is in the nucleus of your cells and cancer occurs when
there is an error in replicating your cells. Genes play a major role in cancer because
of things called mutations. A mutation in your genes is when there is a permanent
