Persuasive Essay On Homework
Crafting a persuasive essay on the topic of homework presents a multifaceted challenge that
requires a delicate balance of research, critical analysis, and effective communication. The
difficulty lies not only in presenting a coherent argument but also in navigating the nuanced
landscape of educational policies, psychological impacts, and societal expectations surrounding
homework.
Firstly, delving into the extensive body of research on the subject demands time and effort.
Sorting through conflicting studies and understanding the diverse perspectives on the
effectiveness of homework adds complexity to the task. Additionally, integrating credible
sources to support one's stance requires a keen eye for academic rigor and a thorough
understanding of the topic.
Furthermore, constructing a compelling argument involves considering the psychological aspects
of homework, taking into account both its potential benefits and drawbacks. Balancing the
importance of fostering discipline and the potential for overwhelming stress requires a nuanced
approach, making it challenging to strike the right chord and appeal to a diverse audience.
Addressing the broader societal context adds another layer of complexity. Acknowledging the
cultural expectations surrounding education, the role of parents, and the evolving nature of
pedagogy necessitates a comprehensive understanding of the educational landscape. This, in
turn, requires a skillful integration of these factors into a persuasive narrative that resonates with
readers.
In terms of communication, conveying a persuasive message demands a refined writing style and
a strategic organization of ideas. Developing a coherent structure that flows seamlessly from
introduction to conclusion while maintaining a persuasive tone is a formidable task. Achieving a
balance between logical reasoning and emotional appeal further adds to the intricacy of the
writing process.
In conclusion, tackling the challenge of composing a persuasive essay on the topic of homework
involves navigating a maze of research, psychology, societal expectations, and effective
communication. It demands not only a deep understanding of the subject matter but also the
ability to synthesize diverse perspectives into a compelling narrative. Crafting an essay that
resonates with readers and persuades them to consider a particular viewpoint requires both skill
and dedication.

Electronic Dance Music
Electronic Dance Music
Electronic Dance Music has now reached it s high in the public all over the world.
This genre of music was created and reformed from past generations of music and
its history goes all the way back to the mid to late 70 s. What is common throughout
Electronic Dance Music s history is its usage of drugs between the attendee s at these
concerts, shows, festivals, or raves. Now that Electronic Music is becoming the most
popular genre for young adults and teens to listen to, the public cant help but be
aware of what chaos it could possibly bring. The only way to prevent such disasters
of over doses and deaths is to educate the Electronic Dance Music lovers on what

It s a mindset of acceptance of anyone and everything. It s a world without
judgment that you cant understand until you ve experienced it yourself (Benanti).
The problem is, with this music also comes the drugs. A study was done on the
drug use and nightlife by a group of people. They explore and study all different
types of music and their ties to drugs. They surveyed 775 visitors of dance events,
clubs, and rock festivals in Belgium (Tina Van Havere). Their results found that the
respondents who used illegal drugs were 25 times more likely to report that they
prefer dance music to any other genre (Tina Van Havere). Drugs and music have
been related to each other since they both first emerged, the only problem now is
that the scene is at a much larger scale and that it s kids who are doing it. There
have been many cases of deaths and overdoses in the past 5 years at these
Electronic Music shows which is creating a lot of discussion in the media and the
public about the safety risks of the people attending these shows. The people within
this culture who are working behind the scenes are concerned of the future of EDM.
A lighting and sound technician Keenan Kan explains, For the people involved in the
industry, we re concerned. We have seen it happen before. Similar situations
happened when the music was popular in the 90s, and of course Gainesville and other
communities acted on it and

Essay
Hollywood and Nathaniel West s The Day of the Locust Works Cited Missing
Although set in the 1930s, Nathanael West s The Day of the Locust ironically
resembles contemporary Hollywood. Within the glamorous setting of Hollywood,
West s characters take on multiple roles instead of assuming individual personalities.
They put on and remove these imaginary personality masks, similar to those in the
Commedia dell Arte, to exhibit a range of emotions that only their character type
would exhibit. Consequently, West s characters are trapped in this restrictive
atmosphere, especially at the end of the novel when they become part of a collective
mob. In these manners, the characters in The Day of the Locust exhibit qualities akin
to modern actors,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, Webb notes that today, only one major studio still exists in the city, as most
back lots have turned into offices that coordinate filming activities elsewhere. This
small fact proves that Hollywood has always been a concept as much as a place
(xi), a symbol people reference for the movie industry, no matter where the movies
were actually produced. Hollywood cinema also produces its own realities on the
big screen. As Cecil B. De Mille. Goldfish and Samuel Goldfish claimed during the
production of the first motion picture, when real life doesn t fit a preconceived
image, create another reality (xi). Since that 1913 statement, Hollywood has
fostered this type of reality making that results into an escape for its audiences.
Aside from the physical escape of traveling to the movies or Blockbuster in order
to view these films, audiences are also invested in the characters they view on
screen. However, Webb informs the public that what appears on the screen is a
stylized version of real life (or a plausible vision of imaginary worlds) that is made
possible by the prolonged collaborative effort of hundreds, working in support of a
celebrated few (3). The reality of the cinema lies in producers, directors, actors, back
lots, etc. involved in its creation rather
Networking Architecture
Network technology has come forward as an important component of IT
infrastructure. Within the healthcare industry, the value of an efficient and stable
network is immeasurable. The challenge in most industries, especially healthcare, is
address security concerns and the rights of the patience. Patton Fuller Community
Hospital, located in the City of Kelsey, is a fully function hospital servicing the local
area since 1975. Recently, The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Patton Fuller
Community Hospital expressed the desire to design an upgrade to the current
network architecture. This design will include upgrades to hardware components and
software components.
This proposal will discuss and summarize the current network structure, propose ...

The devices available to Patton are routers, switches, and a gateway. However, for the
most effective transfer and to maintain the speed necessary, Patton should use Virtual
LAN (VLAN) with multi switches. Switching devices are best because they transfer
data without altering as it moves across networks.
One of the most critical, but often overlooked aspects of securing this data is the
physical security of the hardware and equipment which stores the data. Data security
concerns are paramount in a hospital setting as much of the information is private and
protected by federal privacy protection laws written for the sole purpose of protecting
client or patient rights to the protection of the information regarding their health,
treatment, and medications.
Every server area as well as the network access points must be monitored by
personnel to ensure that only those who should have access to the data are able to
gain access to the physical point of connection or into the NOC (Network Operation
Center) itself. Physical access points throughout the wired and wireless network need
to be audited and turned off when not in use. Varied levels of access to each data
access point should be appropriate for the needs of that specific terminal or network
address. By closely monitoring the levels of data in which each access point or user
has the ability to view, one immediately closes most
The Difference Between A Entrepreneur And A Manager...
Entrepreneur Is Too Ambiguous By definition, an entrepreneur is a person who
organizes and operates a business, taking on greater than normal financial risk to do
so. Unfortunately, this definition does not take into consideration the difference
between a founder entrepreneur and a manager entrepreneur. A founder entrepreneur
has more effectual reasoning skills and organizes the business in its early stages
while a manager entrepreneur has more causal reasoning skills and who operates a
more mature business. Most successful entrepreneurs posses both causal and
effectual reason skills. However founder entrepreneurs have more well developed
effectual reasoning skills while manager entrepreneurs have more well developed
causal reasoning skills. Founder entrepreneurs are leaders who focus on ideas,
creating value, attracting followers based on their vision, and motivating their
audience. Manager entrepreneurs, in contrast, are about planning and execution,
counting and measuring value, and coordinating and controlling the efforts of others.
Based on the list of attributes it becomes pretty clear why manager entrepreneurs are
more appropriate for start up ventures that require unrelated financial investors. That
being said, the vast majority of start ups don t involve investments other than from the
founder, his friends, and his family. These investments are made more to the person
than the business idea. Therefore, in most cases, founder entrepreneurs start new
business with

How far do you agree that world war one was mainly responsible for the 1917
revolution? World war one was one of the main reasons for the breakout of
revolution in 1917, however other factors can be brought about to suggest that it
wasn t only the main reason for the breakout of revolution in 1917. Aspects such as
the decisions and actions of Tsar Nicholas can also be identified as important
features for the breakout of revolution alongside the social and economic strains
and the lack of political reform. All factors have characteristics to suggest that they
were the main reason for the breakout of war, however the impact of world war one

This left the Russian people isolated as they had little, if any means of income to
buy basic necessary items. Too make matters worse for both the Tsar and the
Russian people, little action was taken in aid of these inconveniences. Before the
war Moscow had been receiving 2200 railway wagons of grain per month in 1914;
however by Christmas 1916 this reduced to only 300. This therefore resulted in the
accumulative discontent of the Russian people which only made matters worse
for the Tsar as the likely hood of the occurrence of revolution was high. The lack of
political reform can accountably be taken in as one of the main reasons for the
outbreak of revolution in 1917. The union of zemstva provided medical facilities
for the army; however the government did not know how to incorporate them into
its own war effort. Moreover, the progressive Bloc called for a government of
public confidence in which the ministers would be responsible for the Duma.
However, Tsar Nicholas refused to listen to any of their demands, this resulted in
the ministers who campaigned for change and reform; were either dismissed or
resigned. Due to the fact that no reform was made, all the blame was directed to the
Nicholas. Reform was needed greatly at this time yet no reform occurred, this
accumulated the ever rising dissatisfaction of the Russian people. Furthermore, as a
result of Nicholas s lack of political reform
Taken Hostage
Iranian Hostage Crisis The relationship between the American people and their
government drastically changed in the 1970s. The people began to distrust their
government after The Watergate Scandal, oil prices, and the falling economy.
President Jimmy Carter, elected in 1976 was seen by the public as an honest man
that was working for the people not for the evils of Washington DC. Carter, being an
outsider, grew very popular with the American people. His lack of insider perspective
became troublesome when he could not explain his clear motives and direction he
was taking America. This not only caused tension within his own administration, but
also caused the American people to regain the feeling of mistrust they once felt with

The media had a direct effect on America s view of the hostage situation.
Americans were unaware of the growing power of Islamic forces in Iran and that
President Carter was at their mercy and unable to negotiate for freedom of the
hostages in fear of losing control over American interests in the Persian Gulf. The
media was very influential in the rising disapproval of Carter. Everyday Americans
were reminded that the hostages were still being held because of Carters
unsuccessful attempts at freeing them. Farber also writes about the media in Iran.
Controlled by Russia, Iran media was loaded with anti American propaganda that
only fueled Iranians hatred towards the American government. Farber deeply
discussed the American and Iranian reactions to the crisis. Americans started to pay
more and more attention to the news media. The longer the hostages were held, the
more people disapproved of Carter. Americans hung yellow ribbons everywhere
throughout the country to show support of the hostages. Iranian students at U.S.
universities held protests at schools and outside of the White House demanding for
the return of the Shah as well as requesting the freeze on Iranian assets to be
released. Farber describes the Iranian students plan for the hostage. What turned into
a 444 day hostage was meant to only be a three day sit in. However with President
A Hero s Incentives Of Beowulf
A Hero s Incentives
(Analyze and discuss three motivations for Beowulf) Almost every culture is
represented by a story like poem called an epic. One of the oldest, written around
1000 C.E. is called Beowulf. Originally, this story was told orally, but much later
was written in old English. This language was a hybrid of many other languages and
has developed into the modern English we have today. Beowulf is about an Anglo
Saxon warrior who embarks on a journey to another land to kill a demon named
Grendel, however, things don t go exactly to plan and Beowulf is faced with two
creatures he must battle. Beowulf represents the ideal warrior for the Anglo Saxon
culture. The foundational principles of the culture and the motivations that drive

While he is already considered a hero among his people, he desires to prove himself
and gain more glory and respect. Beowulf is a already respected among his own
people, but to Hrothgar and the Danes he is unknown. Before he enters the hall
where he seeks audience with the king he demonstrates respect by leaving all his
weapons behind. He talks highly of himself and his abilities. This is to give
Hrothgar a sense of who Beowulf is and what he can do. The reason Beowulf does
this is because he wants more glory. While he is considered a hero, he wants to be
an even greater hero. He desires the respect of his people and those of surrounding
cultures. By defeating Grendel, who is a descendent of Cain, he would gain a lot
of glory, but he decides to risk his life for a greater amount of glory by deciding to
not use any weapons. If he is to win the battle, he will win the ultimate respect
among the Danes. Beowulf defeats Grendel and is highly honored. However, the
next day it is discovered that the best warrior of the Danes had been killed in the
night by Grendel s mother. Beowulf decides to go after her as well and has to
search the swamp lands for her underwater lair where he fights her and then finds
Grendel s dead body. He takes the head as a trophy and the Danes reward him with
riches and celebrate with a feast in his honor. Through his acts of bravery he has

Gifted Flaws
People say that being smart or gifted is a superb kind of ability. However does
society even know the basic definition of giftedness? For example, Albert Einstein
s name is associated with the term genius in pop culture (Cohen), but people still
don t know how the mind of a genius thinks or what it goes through. This is a
problem with society itself for not accepting different people just because they are
greater. Being a gifted has its advantages and its flaws such as how gifted person can
mean conflict with society, being gifted can mean things such as a higher IQ, and
gifted people contribute many important factors to innovation. PROBLEMS WITH A

Innovation is turning an idea into a solution that adds value from a customer s
perspective. This means that a gifted persons ability to tell the difference between
the goals, assignment and mission is crucial to innovation because they can focus on
each aspect of innovation (Hoeller). They can also make fabulous leaders because
they can identify habits, traditions, and social pressure ( Hoeller ). However the
people with these habits and traditions might hate the gifted leader. Furthermore
creative thinking is second nature for the gifted especially for innovation where you
need creative ideas. Another contribution they make is being versatile they can
switch their jobs if they need to and not just have one or two skills (Hoeller). The
gifted may also have high passion and commitment to a project or work (Hoeller).
Lastly gifted people make their own solutions to a problem and a higher authority s
opinions doesn t matter to them. That is what a gifted contributes to innovation in the
Essay Cac Card
Importance of a Common Access Card
By: LCpl Crisp, Darius D.
I am writing this essay about the importance of a Common Access Card. Which is
also known as a CAC card. The Common Access Card (CAC) is a United States
Deparrtment of Defense (DoD) Smart Card. The card is issued to Active duty
Military Personnel, Reserve Personnel, Civilian Personnel, state employees of the
National Guard, contractor personnel, and other non DoD government employees.
The CAC is the size of a standard credit card and stores 64 or 128 kB of data storage
and memory on a single integrated circuit. The CAC is used as a general
identification card as well as for authentication to enable access to DoD computers,
networks, and certain DoD facilities. It also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In order to fix a CAC card, you need to have access to a RAPIDS facility. One of the
most advanced smart ID card programs in the United States is the Department of
Defense (DoD) Common Access Card (CAC), a smart card that serves as the DoD
standardidentification for active duty military personnel, selected reserve
personnel, civilian employees, and eligible contractor personnel. The CAC is the
principal card used for logical access to DoD computer networks and systems, and
it will be the principal card used to enable physical access as systems are installed
for authentication and access at DoD facilities in the future. As of July 2004, DoD
has issued over 5.4 million smart cards. (This number includes reissues to
accommodate changes in name, rank, or status and to replace lost or stolen cards.) As
of the same date, approximately 3 million unterminated or active CACs are in
circulation.
DoD has deployed an issuance infrastructure at over 930 sites in more than 25
countries around the world and is rolling out more than 1 million card readers and
associated middleware. A key goal of the CAC program is to meet DoD s mandate
to sign all electronic mail and other electronic documents digitally. Future plans
include using the CAC to sign and encrypt e mail, expanding the number of portals
capable of doing Web based e business using PKI authentication tools, adding a
biometric to the card to provide
Marxist Lense In King Of The Bingo Game By Ralph Ellison
Marxist Lense in King of the Bingo Game King of the Bingo Game by Ralph
Ellison revolves around an unnamed black protagonist, in the 1940 s, who desires
to win the bingo game which occurs at the local cinema, in order to win the grand
prize to pay for a doctor for his severely ill wife. Ellison depicts the presence of the
white hierarchy and its devastating impact on the black protagonist through a political
statement portraying the great injustices that affect African Americans. Ellison
depicts how social status plays a role in how the protagonist feels when he is called
up stage and his hostile treatment from the white audience in the balcony that
vocalize derogatory remarks to the protagonist. The game of chance and the odds of
the double zero represent not only the false sense of hope, but also the constant
reminder of the narrow probability that one must receive to win the prize. The themes
of the illusion of success and false hope demonstrate the feeling of hopelessness and
disparity the protagonist faces as he is chosen for a contender on essentially a game
of life and death. Through the use of diction and symbolism, Ellison illustrates the
prejudicial society the black community must compete in with the slim possibility of
opportunity in a white man s world. Ellison illustrates the social injustices the black
community endures through the characterization of the audience in the theater and
their attitudes towards the protagonist in order to display the inexcusable treatment
African Americans accept in their daily lives. Ellison s use of diction depicts the
white structure through words conveying the message of a higher power. The
protagonist sees (...) the white beam filtered from the projection room above the
balcony, which gives the illusion that the white power structure controls the bingo
wheel (252). Consequently, as he feels that he is on the stage by himself with no
perception of reality, he feels a sensation of alienation and isolation that felt right in
his nature. As the protagonist steps on the stage, the audience responds to his
presence by talking down to him which includes being called boy by the man with the
microphone. Although he grins at the man s jive talk, he feels
Weaknesss And Strengths Of A Department Store
Nowadays, with people busy with work, study and family, they tend to save time in
anyways as they could. One way that people can save time when go shopping is that
they will go shopping at big departments stores. Department stores offer a broad
selection of products from apparel to furniture under the same roof. As a result,
people can find anything they need without driving around different stores to find it.
Among the department stores, Macy s and Dillard s are well known among
everyone. Both of them have established their brandfor a long time, gain a lot of trust
and loyalty with their customers. It may seem that both companies are the same;
however, they have different strengths and weakness of them self.
Dillard s is a department store founded in 1938 by William T. Dillard. It also knows
as one of the nation s largest fashion retailers. Currently, it has about 300 stores
across twenty nine states of the US (www.careers.dillards.com). The store offers a
broad selection such as cosmetic, compelling apparel and home selection from
different brands. This is the reason why they managed to capture a lot of customer
despite their genders or ages. From casual to formal clothes for men, women to
kids, or variety selection of home selection from outdoor to indoor, Dillard s has it
all for their customers. Even though they don t have stores in every state, Dillard s
still has an online website where people can find out any information about Dillard s.

Digital Story Project Analysis
At the start of the project, I was a bit nervous and hesitant about how I would go
about with the project, considering I had no video editing/creating experience. I
knew that the digital story project was important and a great opportunity to reach
out to others in the community. It was great be a part of something that can make
a difference. When Sara and I first met with Monica for the first time prior to the
real interview, it was a really nice conversation between all three of us. I felt that

that Monica had all the knowledge and resources to communicate with us and the
ability to use her phone/email. This is because we learned that Monica didn t have
a lot of experience with technology and she didn t know how to exactly worked her
email. Throughout the project, we would learn that she had a friend that helped

the actual amounts invested do not need to be known; the calculation focuses entirely
on the return figures themselves and presents an apples toapples comparison when
looking at two investment options. Difference between the arithmetic mean return
and the geometric mean: Berk/DeMarzo (2010) the main difference is that an
arithmetic mean should be used when each item contained in the list is an

The Problem Of The Water Crisis
To address something as complex as the water crisis, one must first examine the
current condition of the problem. Currently, the water crisis is being driven by
three things. First, many governments in Africa are not interested in investing in
nationwide plumbing. That is either because they are not able to afford the cost of
laying the info structure or they can afford it but feel no need to invest that much.
Even if a country can afford to install plumbing, generally, plumbing is only
installed in urban areas and has little to no effect on those living in rural Africa.
Second, many large companies buy out water rights and use them to dump toxic
chemicals with no oversight. The result is that there is less water considered
drinkable. Furthermore, this can ruin long time water sources for people that may
be nowhere near the business. Third, some companies who buy out water rights
sell the water back to the people. Often times, they charge outrageous prices that
the majority of citizens cannot afford. As a result, previously free water is now
double the average income per day. In an effort to address the problem, a lot of
nonprofits have formed for the express purpose of helping increase water
accessibility. To do this, almost all of these companies dig wells. Unskilled groups
use dug wells or driven wells which are subject to contamination and ineffective
during a drought. More skilled groups use drilled wells which are less subject to
contamination and work in all
The French Revolution and Napoleon Bonaparte Essay
Napoleon Bonaparte was a French military leader and eventual political leader in
France who was able to seize power during the end of the French Revolution of the
late 1790 s and early 1800 s. Napoleon was the leader of France from 1804 to 1815
and mostly remembered as a leader in a cycle of European battles. He institutionalized
the changes brought about by the French Revolutionand sought to spread them
throughout Europe. It has been long debated the factors that allowed Napoleon to
seize power and eventually crown himself emperor. Such factors that have been
considered have been Napoleon s personality, his military exploits, the failings of the
Directory, support of the people and army and even sheer luck.

In 1796 as a young officer of 27 years old, Napoleon was given command of the
French army in Italy. In his proclamation to his troops, Napoleon said, The two
armies which but recently attacked you with audacity are fleeing before you in
terror; the wicked men who laughed at your misery and rejoiced at the thought of the
triumphs of your enemies are confounded and trembling. Acts like this display the
strong personality that Napoleon possessed and how his endearing nature captivated
his troops. The control and support of the army was effective in enabling Bonaparte
to eventually seize power.
Napoleon has been recognised as a military genius. His various military exploits
have been widely regarded as great feats and his military prowess was definitely an
important factor is his ascension to power. Napoleon has been said to be a great
tactician and strategist in war which was essentially why he was able to progress

young Napoleon became a national hero by leading the recapture of the French port
of Toulon from the British which drew the attention of the upper echelons. As a

Daffodils By Wordsworth
INTRODUCTION:
The poem was written in the year 1802. It was first published in Poems in Two
Volumes, in 1807. The very starting line of the poem I wandered lonely as a cloud
informs the poet s profound sentiments of being left alone. It was actually the death
of his brother John that led him to loneliness . We should remind the readers that this
poem was not a result of imagination. Dorothy, Wordsworth s sister provides us an
explanation of the occasion which inspired Wordsworth to produce this masterpiece:
When we were in the woods beyond Gowbarrow Park, we saw a few daffodils close
to waterside. Thus the poem is a result of actual visualization rather than imagery .
In English literature, Wordsworth and his friend, Samuel Taylor... Show more content

This presents an idea of seclusion. The idea of being alone is contradicted by the
phrase crowd (line 3). This is actually the setting of the poem . As human form
Wordsworth prefers seclusion but the crowd of daffodils bewilders his senses. The
feeling of ecstasy suddenly makes a dive.
This poem, obviously inspired by Wordsworth s stomping grounds, is well loved
because of its simple yet beautiful rhythms and rhymes, and its rather sentimental
topic. The poem consists of four six line stanzas, each of which follow an ababcc
rhyme scheme and are written in iambic tetrameter, giving the poem a subtle back
and forth motion that recalls swaying daffodils.
By comparing himself to a cloud in the first line of the poem, the speaker signifies
his close identification with the nature that surrounds him. He also demonstrates this
connection by personifying the daffodils several times, even calling them a crowd as
if they are a group of
Counterculture In 1960s
In the 1960s a new group of young, long haired and wild people began to form in San
Francisco, California and soon spread throughout the rest of the country and then
developed around the world. Its origins may be traced to European social movement
in the 19th and early 20th century such as Bohemians, and the influence of Eastern
religion and spirituality. From around 1967, its fundamental ethos including harmony
with nature, communal living, artistic experimentation particularly in music, and the
widespread use of recreational drugs spread around the world during the
counterculture of the 1960s, which has become closely associated with the
subculture. These people were given the name known as hippies they were defined as

the fans made holes in the fences so lots of people just walked in. About 300,000 to

Taxi Driver Social Disorganization
The film Taxi Driver, directed by Martin Scorsese, takes place in New York City
during the 1970 s. The main character Travis Bickle, played by Robert De Niro, is a
United States Marine returning home after serving his country. Taxi Driver appears to
demonstrate the theory of Social Disorganization. The audience can see this
throughout the film in scenes where Bickle is driving through the city. As the film
continues Bickle appears to struggle with adjusting to such a large city and coping
with his sanity. This film takes a look at how Social Disorganization along with a
mental illness can contribute to someone s actions and behavior.
Travis Bickle is an extremely complex individual. It appears Bickle s mental state
is deteriorating after serving four years in the United States Marine Corps and
seeing combat action in Vietnam. Bickle seems to be an insomniac unable to sleep
at night, part of the reason why he wants to drive a taxi cab at night. Struggling to
sleep, Bickle also consumes alcohol at various times of the day. The audience gets a

Martin Scorsese beautifully demonstrates what a socially disorganized city might
reflect. Whenever Bickle is driving his taxi cab at night the audience can see
prostitution, pimping, assault, robbery, and drug dealing. In the movie one can see
that there are really no institutions exhorting their control over society. With a lack
of control from institutions such as religion, politics, and school it allows crime to
take over and become a societal norm. Bickle sees that crime is rampant within the
city and refers to these individuals as scum. It is very apparent that social
disorganization has especially taken hold of the inner city, or Zone of Transition,
which is where most minorities reside and where most crime occurs. Bickle
unfortunately both lives and primarily works in this
Bottle Rocket Lab
Introduction The purpose of this lab is to show how the quantity of wings effects
the height a 2 oz. bottle rocket launches into the air. The wings have a vital effect on
the flight of the rocket. The fins keep the rocket stabilized and going in the right
direction. The way that the fins do this is the same way that the feathers on an arrow
keep it flying straight. The increased dragon the back end of the fuselage of the
rocket, keeps the back end in the back.
Experimental Design
Will the number of fins effect how height the rocket flies into the air?
The independent variable is the number of wings
The dependent variable is how high the rocket flies
The control is the blank rocket launched by Mrs. Still
Hypothesis
If the number of fins stays at 3 (an average number) then the rocket will fly to its
ideal height, because too many fins would be too much drag on the back of the
rocket, while too few would not be enough to keep the rocket balanced.

3 3 x5 fins

The amount of wings was an important piece of data, seeing as it was what the
whole paper was based around. Some weaknesses in our experimental design was
finding groups willing to help, because everyone wanted to do their own questions
and wanted the freedom of choice, rather than having to make a rocket by specific
standards. I feel that this could ve been helped if instead, the experimental question
was weight related, as that would imply more freedom to make the rocket how the
other groups wanted to make their
The Media Regulation Of The Uk
The media regulation in the U.K. is more extensive compared to the U.S. Ofcom is
an independent regulator and competition authority across television, radio etc. The
PCC, also an independent body, deals with complaints from members of the public
about editorial content of newspaper and magazines. The behavior of media is far
more regulated in Britain compared to the U.S. In U.S. the views can complain about
the content to individual media outlets but in Britain the complaints are published on
various governmental website making it more visible. This means that the impact of
government regulation is more evident in British media than in the American media.
BBC is the only media outlet that is not funded by any organization or advertisers.
Anyone who owns a television has to pay the license fee, which helps fund the
BBC. In the most recent famous case, Prime Minister Tony Blair s administration
became furious over a report by a BBC freelance correspondent that the Labour
government had sexed up the evidence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq in
order to build public consensus for sending British troops to war. Although it later
became apparent that evidence of these weapons was inconclusive, an inquiry into
the matter (which also involved the suicide of a government official responsible for
unauthorized comments) led to the resignation of both the head of the BBC Board of
Governors and the BBC director general (Hutton Inquiry, 2004; Dyke, 2005). In a

Essay on Trojan Sofa
The Trojan Sofa
Bernard MacLaverty brings us The Trojan Sofa , a short story that incorporates a
corrosive relationship between a boy and his father, Niall and Da. The title itself
suggests that deceit and deception is a feature of the story, as it turns out, this is two
fold. MacLaverty has innovatively chosen to use the first person narrative mode to
enable the reader to become much more familiar with Niall and warm to him as a
character. With Niall being the narrator, he speaks sincerely of Da but the reader is
forced to read between the lines to ascertain just how sincere Da is towards Niall.

Da would ve asked about dogs and alarms so in Niall s eyes, Da is looking out for
him and making sure he is safe. He doesn t see the bigger picture; he doesn t think
Da would put him in danger. As Da tell Niall about how the authorities like to keep
us in the dark , the irony of this is not lost on the reader, for Niall himself is in the
dark twofold; he has been duped into spending a whole night in total darkness in a
sofa with the intention of burglarising the major s house for the patriotic reasons Da
has convinced him of but more upsettingly, we can see that Niall is being used as a
pawn by Da to further his criminal shenanigans, without Niall, Da could not pull off
his devious schemes.
We are further convinced that Niall is being deceived by Da when it turns out that the
British army major is in fact an architect. Niall sees the framed diploma, but has been
brainwashed so much that he doesn t consider that the architecture diploma signifies
that the major may not be a major at all.
Whether Da loves Niall or not is never in question, but Da is risking his long term
bond with him, as Niall becomes savvy to the real nature of the business he is
involved in it could go one of two ways; Da had better hope he has groomed Niall
well enough to take the same outlook as himself. Although it is never mentioned, the
theme of deceit and betrayal between the two characters run through this
The Role of Auditors in a Firm
Audit is determined by a formal examination of a firm s financial records, inspection
of its accounts and other related documents by accountants called auditors. Basically,
auditing is a controlled process which includes professional judgment and requires
applying of analytical skills. Also, it involves appropriate forms of expertise and its
approaching. A team with professional skills perform this task according to the
relevant standards, for instance, International Standards on Auditing(ISAs),
International Financial Reporting Standards(IFRS), International Public Sector
Accounting Standards (IPSAS) or International Standards on Quality Control
(ISQCs) and other applicable equivalents.
The role of auditor as a specialist is to review the company s accounts in order to
certify the legitimacy and validity of its financial records. They work in the places
like independent certified organisations or accounting departments. Furthermore,
auditors can give an advice and warn about possible risks and cost savings that
company could made. As money going in and out of organisations, auditors examine
the records and check if it is processed correctly. Their obligations also include
visiting factories for checking stocks and companies equipment.
Actually, there could be internal or external auditors. Considering internal, they work
for specialized firms, large corporations or charities and as a part of a company s
accounting team. That is to say, internal auditors perform in the

Think about what Georgiana is meant to symbolize. A beautiful creation marred by
one thing. Sound familiar? It should because she represents you and me and
everyone on earth. No man or woman (threw that in for the feminists) is or ever will
be perfect. Now, think about the birthmark. It symbolizes our sin and our
imperfections, inescapable realities. The birthmark, like our sin, cannot be removed.
It is attached to us. It is part of us. That is why when Alymer attempts to remove it,
Georgiana dies in the process. Even Alymer himself is a testament to our
imperfection. Consider, had Alymer been perfect, Georgiana never would have died.
The operation would have gone perfectly. There are other examples, the flower

These same themes can be seen in some of Hawthorne s other works as well. In
Young Goodman Brown the title character attends a witches meeting in Salem,
Massachusetts. The evil of humanity appears when everyone the town is also at the
same meeting. Brown s own sin is evident again later when he is judging all the
people who were at the meeting. He even becomes delusional, fearing that the roof of
the church will collapse and kill everyone inside, including himself. Quite
Gun Violence History
Televisions. Cars. Children. In America, these are all things outnumbered by the
amount of guns, which is over 300 million (Whitney x). A gun is a weapon which
fires projectiles propelled by explosive force and consists of a metal barrel, trigger,
and a handle. For centuries, a gun has been a pivotal element of society, as it is a
means of offsetting the balance of nature. In a match between beast and human, beast
usually triumphs. However, when a gunis placed in the hands of the human, the
outcome of the match is not as certain. History would be very different were guns
not invented. Although many people today see a gun as a symbol of violence or
synthetic authority, there are also many who see a gun as a symbol of protection and
even freedom.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This shooting was the second worst school shooting in U.S. history, and it was this
shooting that reignited the inferno of debate known as gun controversy. The
Newtown shooting, and the many others that followed, caused many people to view
a gun solely as a symbol of murder. Americans shocked by the incident clamored for
stricter gun control while other Americans protested the gun control, asserting that it
was an infringement of their freedom. This battle still rages on today. Regarding the
controversy, Robert J. Spitzer said, At its heart, the gun debate is a question about
the relationship between the citizen, the state s power to regulate, and the
maintenance of public order. David Ropeik of Psychology Today went further,
saying that the debate is more so about guns as symbols, not weapons. The gun
control fight is about our deeper need for safety and identity, Ropeik wrote. These
statements make clear the extreme significance guns hold in today s society as a
symbol of security. To restrict or attempt to eradicate guns is to misunderstand what a
gun is, according to the over 60 million gun owners in the country that oppose gun
Universal Healthcare Socialist
Does giving universal healthcare to its citizens make a country socialist? The answer
is no. why I am answering this question is that, this question is the one of the main
arguments against universal healthcare in America. Even though universal healthcare
is a characteristic of most socialist governments there are governments that are not
socialist but have universal health carefor example Australia, United Kingdom and
so on and so forth. Universal healthcare is a good idea because of its many benefits
and simplicity.
The origins of healthcare in the United States can be traced back to the 1900 s, the
heart of the progressive era (Health Insurance), and from that time period itself it has
been met with some serious opposition. The First time it was brought up the universal
health care reform got struck down because Germany had adopted a successful
universal healthcare plan ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To them I simply respond by saying universal healthcare can be implemented in
many ways and has been implemented in many different European countries. Most
of these countries now have a healthcare system that is far less complex than
America s healthcare system. Those against universal health care may argue that
by taking away the choice of choosing healthcare providers people are essentially
losing a right. To that statement I respond by saying this government has a duty to
protect the welfare of its citizens and healthcare falls under the welfare of people so
let the government do its job and don t be an obstacle for progress. My opponents
on this issue may argue that healthcare is a privilege and not a right. To them I ask
this question if it is not a right then why do so many other developed nations have
universal healthcare? America is probably the only developed country that still doesn
t have a universal healthcare system that shows that universal healthcare should be a
right in developed countries not a

Break Even Analysis
The cash breakeven point indicates the minimum amount of sales required to
contribute to a positive cash flow in the first operating year. In the case of the Lazy
Mower Project the cash breakeven point comes to 2500 units. This is calculated by
taking the fixed costs (including rent) and dividing by the contribution margin.
1,620,000/600=2700
The accounting breakeven point tells how many units the company must sell in year
1 to bring their operating income to zero. This takes into consideration the fixed
costs (rent included) plus depreciation. In the case of the Lazy Mower, 7263 units
would need to be sold to break even.
1,620,000+2,858,000/600=7463
The financial breakeven point considers how many units it would take in the first
year to bring the company s NVP to zero. To do this, fixed cost (rent included) must
be added to the operating cash flow and then divided by the contribution margin. In
this case, 30,000 units would need to be sold.

The study examines the moderating effect of CEO tenure and managerial experience
on firm specific determinants of corporate cash holdings among private
manufacturing firms in Kenya. The research employed the upper echelons theory to
identify CEO characteristics that are linked to various organizational processes and
outcomes such as cash holding. This survey based study selected a sample of 156
private manufacturing firms from the firms registered with the KAM that are located
in Nairobi and surrounding area using stratified random sampling technique. The
research collected primary data using self administered questionnaires to gather self
reported financial measures from the CFOs. The study employed stepwise multiple
regression analysis to determine the moderating effect of CEO tenure and managerial
experience on independent and dependent variables. The study concludes that the
CEO tenure significantly moderates firm size, growth opportunities, and likelihood of
financial distress as determinants of corporate cash holdings. Further, the study
concludes that CEO managerial experience in other industries significantly moderates
firm size and cash flow volatility determinants of corporate cash holdings among
private manufacturing firms in Kenya.

Fixed Costs: Fixed costs are the costs that are independent of the amount of goods or
services produced by the business. For example rent, salaries.
For fixed costs, you have to pay them even if you do nothing.
Variable Costs: A variable cost can vary in relation to the amount of business
activities. For example raw material, energy usage, labour, logistics, etc.
Marginal Costs: It can be defined as the additional cost (increase or decrease) to total
production cost from producing one additional unit of good or service.
Marginal Revenue: It is the additional revenue that can be generated by selling one
additional unit of goods or services. In microeconomic theory, when marginal cost

Current Ratio: Current ratio measures if a company has enough resources to meet its
short term obligations. It shows the proportion of current assets in relation to its
current liabilities. The higher the ratio, the more liquid the company is. The ideal
current ratio is 2 for most enterprises. 1.5 is also an acceptable ratio. Current ratio
being under 1 indicates that company is having difficulties and unable to meet its
liabilities, making the company illiquid .
Try to keep your current ratio above 1.5, otherwise you ll go down fast.
Quick Ratio: It is a liquidity ratio that measures how quick a company can pay its
liabilities. It differs from Current Ratio because in quick ratio, inventory is excluded
from current assets. The reason why is that the inventory may not sell out so fast. So
quick ratio quickly captures if your company has enough liquidity, which is
frequently used by banks, creditors, investors. Ideal ratio would be 1:1 or
History Of The Hubble Space Telescope
The Hubble Space Telescope is considered by some to be one of N.A.S.A. s greatest
achievements, and in its early years N.A.S.A. s greatest and most expensive failures
but it is widely regarded as a great telescope that takes beautiful stunning photos
During Hubble s building many things went wrong and right. In 1923 A German
Scientist named Hermann Oberth conceived the idea to put a telescope into orbit,
Lyman Spitzer worked tirelessly to bring this idea to fruition. In 1968 N.A.S.A.
announced a plan to build The Large Space Telescope (LST) with a launch planned
for 1979. LST Was built at Marshall Space Flight Center, Goddard Space Flight
Center, and Lockheed Martin with help from The European Space Agency because

Mission IV saw Hubble s main computer replaced and various scientific upgrades and
then Hubble was sent off into orbit for the last time.
Here are Some intriguing facts about the Hubble Space Telescope. The Hubble Space
Telescope was launched aboard Space Shuttle Discovery on april 24 1990and has
been running for 27 years. Hubble has been around the earth 148,000 times and
has racked up an impressive mileage of 3.8 billion miles. The HST has made over 1.3
million observations of 42,000 celestial bodies. Approximately 2 terabytes of data

over 14,600 papers on the cosmos and has been referenced over 600,000 times in
Theme Of The Mother And Daughter Relationship In The
Joy...
Throughout The Joy Luck Club, one major theme that kept appearing was a mother
daughter relationship. The relationship between every daughter and their mother was
different, but all of the joy luck club members wanted their daughter to succeed. Each
mother cared for their daughter exceptionally so and even portrayed wanting their
daughter to have it much better than they ever did. For example, Lindo Jong and her
daughter, Waverly Jong, had an interesting relationship. Lindo always wanted
Waverly to strive in her childhood talent, chess. Waverly slowly built up anger
towards her motheras she would always try recommending strategies to use and ways
to attack during competition as well as treat Waverly as a trophy for her
achievements. In... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This points further to the conclusion that she didn t put her children first just as the
Joy Luck Club mothers did. In connection to the caring nature that was emphasized
throughout the novel, it is easy to compare it to my relationship with my mother.
Similar to Lindo, my mother is proud of me and shows that to the people around
her. Although Waverly was ashamed of it in the novel, I am grateful that mother
speaks so highly of me. In the novel, June s feelings about wanting to live up to her
mothers expectation were really strong. I feel the same way in wanting to show my
mom that I can go above and beyond what she expects from me. In conclusion, this
theme was displayed in every aspect of the novel and is easy to share experiences
with, but can even be shown in the worst ways of a relationship between a daughter
and a mother, just as the article brought to light.

Rise Of The Rocket Girls Analysis
Calculating trajectories is no simple task, but to Katherine Johnson and other
computers at NASA and JPL, it s just another everyday job. The film Hidden
Figures focuses on African American women who were computers at the Langley
Aeronautical Laboratory in Hampton, Virginia. Furthermore, the book Rise of the
Rocket Girls is directed towards women who were computers at the Jet Propulsion
Laboratory (JPL) in Southern California. The connection between these two literary
works are similar in terms of the characters but different regarding background.
Remarkable similarities between the two stories include personal lives and long
lasting teamwork. The women in Hidden Figures and Rise of the Rocket Girls had to

At JPL, racial setbacks were less prominent as women of different races and
ethnicities cooperated. On the other hand, the Langley Research Center was
segregated and the women in the West Area Computing Division were isolated
from the rest of the research center. This separation is shown immediately when
Katherine Johnson is the first colored women working with the Space Task Group.
When Katherine enters the room, she is mistaken for a custodian and handed the
trash can. Later, when she pours coffee for herself, all the white people in the
department stare at her in disbelief. The following day, she finds a separate kettle
for herself labeled Colored . In addition, when Mary Jackson is working with the
engineers on the space capsule, one of the head engineers asks her if she would
like to be an engineer if she was a white man. She responds that she wouldn t have
to wish, she d already be one. Apart from the racial differences between the two
pieces of literature, the struggle for women getting new positions during that time
was depicted very differently. In Hidden Figures, both Dorothy Vaughan and Mary
Jackson underwent multiple barriers to be able to get their desired position; Dorothy
as a supervisor and Mary as an engineer. Dorothy was promoted to supervisor by Ms.
Mitchell at the very end and Mary had to go to court to see a judge to be able to
The Languages and Cuisine of Mexico Essays
Mexico has 31 states and 1 Federal district which is Mexico City. While the
overwhelming majority of Mexicans today speak Spanish making it the largest
Spanish speaking population in the world there is no single official national language
of Mexico. The colonizers of Mexico forced the Spanish language on the natives, but
in the 1990s the government recognized 62 indigenous Amerindian languages,
including Aztec, or Nahuatl, and the Mayan family of languages, as national
languages. About 6 % of the population is non Spanish speaking, and some
indigenous Mexican words have become common in other languages, to include
English. Examples are: chocolate, coyote, tomato and avocado all originated in
Nahuatl.

Combining this with the specialty cuisines of European conquerors (namely the
Spanish) including wine, cheese, pork, beef and lamb, Mexicans have created a
food culture that combines a mix of old world and modern cuisine. It is widely
believed that Mexican food is extremely spicy, but this is true only to a certain extent.
Food Culture of Mexican Mayans
Southeast Mexico was inhabited by the Mayan Indians many years ago, and their
basic eating habits were based on the fact that they were primarily nomadic hunters
by nature. As a result, they lived off the land and regularly consumed animals that
roamed those lands in that time. Mexican culture food at the time simply consisted
of the meat of rabbits, deer, raccoons and armadillos. Birds were considered a
delicacy and pigeons, turkeys and quail were regularly eaten. This often included
frogs, snakes and turtles.
These meat delicacies were perfectly complemented by land grown vegetables like
tropical fruits, beans and corn. Corn was a basic supplement of almost all meals, as
it was widely grown in all the settlements of the Mayans, becoming an integral part of
the Mayan culture. Mexican food and culture of this time aimed at complete nutrition
and nourishment of the body by providing it with all the necessary minerals and
amino acids.

Medical Uses of Camomile
Camomile is a European flower in the daisy family. Looking very similar to the
daisy, it contains it s white and yellow colors. This extremely useful plant has been
used over generations on both children and adults. Known for its ways to cure
symptoms of illness, its healing powers are what made it most popular. One of it s
most popular uses if for relieving stress and anxiety. Containing relaxants, it calms the
person and maybe even sleepy. Chamomilealso helps with stomach pains and
digestive issues. The oils it contains soothes and settles the stomach, preventing any
aches or pains. Topically, it can be used for some skin conditions, such as rashes. Also
helping with the healing of wounds, it stops irritationand itchiness. Mouth ulcers, a
result of cancer treatments, can also be treated with Camomile. Many are still
researching the properties of Chamomile and trying to find out what else it can do.
Chamomile comes in many forms. The most well known is it s tea. Boiled in
water, this is a simple and beneficial way to receive Chamomile s healing
properties. If grown in a garden, the flowers can just be added into the boiled
water, but tea bags can be bought at local stores. The flower heads are the only part
used in tea, but the whole flower is useful. Ointment and skin cream is also made
with the flower heads. Mouthwash is made the same way that the tea is, and also
uses the flower heads. There are many other creative uses for situations like irritated

Role Of Value System In Beowulf
A Monster s Role Numerous cultures have their own way of determining the status
of a person by a value system. Although, the value system of the Anglo Saxons in
the Middle Ages is quite different than the value systems of today. The value
systems, most people know, determine status by how much money or how
accomplished an individual is. This is similar to the value system explained in the
epic poem, but there are just a few differences. The value system is determined
mostly by the heroic code, in which the main character in the epic poem, Beowulf,
shows numerous characteristics of the heroic code that a warrior knight, of that time,
followed. The heroic code also helps exemplify the culture of the Anglo Saxon in the
Middle Ages by... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This occurrence was due to the culture in the Anglo Saxon time period, in which
any boy who was born, grew up to be a warrior knight. Those knights fought and
killed monsters, and went to war to protect their people. This truth is further
explained in the Prologue of the epic, in which it states: So young men build their
future, wisely, open handed in peace, protected in war, so warriors earn their fame,
and wealth is shaped with a sword. (lines 22 25). This quote helps to further
explain and understand how and where a warrior s fame come from. Without war
or slaying monsters young men would not grow to become famous, wealthy, and
well known by everyone across the land. This lack of fortune, including their
heroism and status, would be caused as a result of all of those attributes being solely
based on their accomplishments in war and by their heroic ability and courage to
battle the monsters that harmed their people. Another way that the monsters play a
role in the value system and the heroic code of the warrior knights is that without the
monsters there would not be as much of a demand for the warriors, as there are with
them. Therefore, if there were no monsters then how would the warriors gain their
fame and wealth? Sure, they also fought in wars, but those victories would not have
gained them enough fame and wealth to be glorified as much as they were by
fighting the monsters. Although, the warriors not only battle the monsters to gain fame

Sweet Pea Research Paper
Sweet Pea Mack
There is a common belief that our animals find us. Looking for our forever dog
does not always come easily or quickly. That match may be increasingly difficult if
you are looking for the ideal dog to become part of a community. One of the most
difficult challenges of aging of the loss of a pet. While it is not uncommon for
retirement communities to allow small cats and dogs, the resident needs to be able
to independently care for their pet either by themselves, family, or paid caregivers.
As a geriatric social worker, I am a firm believer in the power of the human animal
bond, and totally support seniors with maintaining a relationship with animals in
whatever capacity they are able. Years ago I was working in a retirement community
committed to improving the culture and climate in the nursing home by
implementing the Eden Alternative. This system is designed to create a human
habitat through the inclusion of plants, animal, and volunteers.

China s Political And Social Structures
China is the fastest emerging political power in the world, a power that in a short
amount of time turned from a third rate industrial nation with lots of raw potential, to
the second largest economy and one of the largest militaries in the world. But is
China s political and social structures unique? Certainly, the Chinese system
possesses certain aspects similar to what already exists in other modern nation states
and their governments, however, it is how these pieces coelute together into a
coherent political and economic machine that makes the model unique. Politically,
the Chinese Communist Party is quite unique. Most authoritarian political parties
are either dominated by party elites who only pass on power to loyalists, or merely
a military regime. The CCP, however, is significantly technocratic, and much more
inclusive. Many members of the CCP are not just military leaders or individuals
with law degrees, they also include engineers and more recently business leaders.
Furthermore, although there is a level of patronage in Chinese politics and society
known as Guanxi, in fact as Mingxing Liu states in his paper about advancement in
the CCP Central Committee the literature suggests that leaders were able to stay in
power because they engaged in factional politics instead of selecting the most capable
officials (Victor Shih 2012) However, that was during the pre Xi Jinping eras and
quantifiable efforts have been made to combat corruption, especially in local
Describe the Difference in Managerial Accounting vs. Cost...
Describe how managerial accounting is different from cost accounting. Cost
accounting is the process of tracking, recording and analyzing costs associated with a
company s product or project. Internal managers are the ones who normally use cost
accounting information. Direct Costs, Indirect Costs and Overhead/Absorbed Costs
are usually what are measured in Cost Accounting. This information is then used by
managers when decisions are made dealing with company costs and how to improve
the profit. (Wild Shaw) Management accounting provides the other managers

The financial bonuses should be tied to how much the team saves this year. Often
companies tend to cut individuals who do not have top priority tasks. Keeping the
ones who are important understand and will help you save a lot of money. Dr.
White has to prepare to implement cost reductions in her organization; she must be
open, honest and be sincere with all the staff about reducing the cost and how this
will affect the organization. She should reduce the headcount in proportion in the
difference within the work load. If the community center generally treats more
cases that the outpatient sections then the cuts could be made from outpatient.
Service contracts are easy to work with as long as the current provider or new
provider is reasonable. Normally travel, consultation and professional budgets are
cut. What is the hardest has to cut people that work closely with a manager, it is
important for the manager to budget responsibly. The employee should be notified
immediately of such actions so they are prepared and can have time to look for
something new. Sometimes this is not the case, as for a friend of mine who showed
up to work one day and they informed her they had to let her go. Usually an outgoing
employee should be provided with a departure package, lump sum payment or
package with benefits to help them with the sudden change.
With the first budget below, it has been reduced $94,000. There has been an

This is the phase of the cyber operation in which the cyberwarriors gather information
about potentials targets. This operation can be subdivided in three sub phases. The
war planners provides objectives, targeters search for potential target that might

  • 1. Persuasive Essay On Homework Crafting a persuasive essay on the topic of homework presents a multifaceted challenge that requires a delicate balance of research, critical analysis, and effective communication. The difficulty lies not only in presenting a coherent argument but also in navigating the nuanced landscape of educational policies, psychological impacts, and societal expectations surrounding homework. Firstly, delving into the extensive body of research on the subject demands time and effort. Sorting through conflicting studies and understanding the diverse perspectives on the effectiveness of homework adds complexity to the task. Additionally, integrating credible sources to support one's stance requires a keen eye for academic rigor and a thorough understanding of the topic. Furthermore, constructing a compelling argument involves considering the psychological aspects of homework, taking into account both its potential benefits and drawbacks. Balancing the importance of fostering discipline and the potential for overwhelming stress requires a nuanced approach, making it challenging to strike the right chord and appeal to a diverse audience. Addressing the broader societal context adds another layer of complexity. Acknowledging the cultural expectations surrounding education, the role of parents, and the evolving nature of pedagogy necessitates a comprehensive understanding of the educational landscape. This, in turn, requires a skillful integration of these factors into a persuasive narrative that resonates with readers. In terms of communication, conveying a persuasive message demands a refined writing style and a strategic organization of ideas. Developing a coherent structure that flows seamlessly from introduction to conclusion while maintaining a persuasive tone is a formidable task. Achieving a balance between logical reasoning and emotional appeal further adds to the intricacy of the writing process. In conclusion, tackling the challenge of composing a persuasive essay on the topic of homework involves navigating a maze of research, psychology, societal expectations, and effective communication. It demands not only a deep understanding of the subject matter but also the ability to synthesize diverse perspectives into a compelling narrative. Crafting an essay that resonates with readers and persuades them to consider a particular viewpoint requires both skill and dedication. • 3. Electronic Dance Music Electronic Dance Music Electronic Dance Music has now reached it s high in the public all over the world. This genre of music was created and reformed from past generations of music and its history goes all the way back to the mid to late 70 s. What is common throughout Electronic Dance Music s history is its usage of drugs between the attendee s at these concerts, shows, festivals, or raves. Now that Electronic Music is becoming the most popular genre for young adults and teens to listen to, the public cant help but be aware of what chaos it could possibly bring. The only way to prevent such disasters of over doses and deaths is to educate the Electronic Dance Music lovers on what could potentially happen to this culture if a change ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It s a mindset of acceptance of anyone and everything. It s a world without judgment that you cant understand until you ve experienced it yourself (Benanti). The problem is, with this music also comes the drugs. A study was done on the drug use and nightlife by a group of people. They explore and study all different types of music and their ties to drugs. They surveyed 775 visitors of dance events, clubs, and rock festivals in Belgium (Tina Van Havere). Their results found that the respondents who used illegal drugs were 25 times more likely to report that they prefer dance music to any other genre (Tina Van Havere). Drugs and music have been related to each other since they both first emerged, the only problem now is that the scene is at a much larger scale and that it s kids who are doing it. There have been many cases of deaths and overdoses in the past 5 years at these Electronic Music shows which is creating a lot of discussion in the media and the public about the safety risks of the people attending these shows. The people within this culture who are working behind the scenes are concerned of the future of EDM. A lighting and sound technician Keenan Kan explains, For the people involved in the industry, we re concerned. We have seen it happen before. Similar situations happened when the music was popular in the 90s, and of course Gainesville and other communities acted on it and
  • 4. Hollywood and Nathaniel West s The Day of the Locust Essay Hollywood and Nathaniel West s The Day of the Locust Works Cited Missing Although set in the 1930s, Nathanael West s The Day of the Locust ironically resembles contemporary Hollywood. Within the glamorous setting of Hollywood, West s characters take on multiple roles instead of assuming individual personalities. They put on and remove these imaginary personality masks, similar to those in the Commedia dell Arte, to exhibit a range of emotions that only their character type would exhibit. Consequently, West s characters are trapped in this restrictive atmosphere, especially at the end of the novel when they become part of a collective mob. In these manners, the characters in The Day of the Locust exhibit qualities akin to modern actors,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In fact, Webb notes that today, only one major studio still exists in the city, as most back lots have turned into offices that coordinate filming activities elsewhere. This small fact proves that Hollywood has always been a concept as much as a place (xi), a symbol people reference for the movie industry, no matter where the movies were actually produced. Hollywood cinema also produces its own realities on the big screen. As Cecil B. De Mille. Goldfish and Samuel Goldfish claimed during the production of the first motion picture, when real life doesn t fit a preconceived image, create another reality (xi). Since that 1913 statement, Hollywood has fostered this type of reality making that results into an escape for its audiences. Aside from the physical escape of traveling to the movies or Blockbuster in order to view these films, audiences are also invested in the characters they view on screen. However, Webb informs the public that what appears on the screen is a stylized version of real life (or a plausible vision of imaginary worlds) that is made possible by the prolonged collaborative effort of hundreds, working in support of a celebrated few (3). The reality of the cinema lies in producers, directors, actors, back lots, etc. involved in its creation rather

Within the healthcare industry, the value of an efficient and stable network is immeasurable. The challenge in most industries, especially healthcare, is address security concerns and the rights of the patience. Patton Fuller Community Hospital, located in the City of Kelsey, is a fully function hospital servicing the local area since 1975. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The devices available to Patton are routers, switches, and a gateway. However, for the most effective transfer and to maintain the speed necessary, Patton should use Virtual LAN (VLAN) with multi switches. Switching devices are best because they transfer data without altering as it moves across networks. One of the most critical, but often overlooked aspects of securing this data is the physical security of the hardware and equipment which stores the data. Data security concerns are paramount in a hospital setting as much of the information is private and protected by federal privacy protection laws written for the sole purpose of protecting client or patient rights to the protection of the information regarding their health, treatment, and medications. Every server area as well as the network access points must be monitored by personnel to ensure that only those who should have access to the data are able to gain access to the physical point of connection or into the NOC (Network Operation Center) itself. Physical access points throughout the wired and wireless network need to be audited and turned off when not in use. Varied levels of access to each data access point should be appropriate for the needs of that specific terminal or network address. By closely monitoring the levels of data in which each access point or user has the ability to view, one immediately closes most
  • 6. The Difference Between A Entrepreneur And A Manager... Entrepreneur Is Too Ambiguous By definition, an entrepreneur is a person who organizes and operates a business, taking on greater than normal financial risk to do so. Unfortunately, this definition does not take into consideration the difference between a founder entrepreneur and a manager entrepreneur. A founder entrepreneur has more effectual reasoning skills and organizes the business in its early stages while a manager entrepreneur has more causal reasoning skills and who operates a more mature business. Most successful entrepreneurs posses both causal and effectual reason skills. However founder entrepreneurs have more well developed effectual reasoning skills while manager entrepreneurs have more well developed causal reasoning skills. Founder entrepreneurs are leaders who focus on ideas, creating value, attracting followers based on their vision, and motivating their audience. Manager entrepreneurs, in contrast, are about planning and execution, counting and measuring value, and coordinating and controlling the efforts of others. Based on the list of attributes it becomes pretty clear why manager entrepreneurs are more appropriate for start up ventures that require unrelated financial investors. That being said, the vast majority of start ups don t involve investments other than from the founder, his friends, and his family. These investments are made more to the person than the business idea. Therefore, in most cases, founder entrepreneurs start new business with

World war one was one of the main reasons for the breakout of revolution in 1917, however other factors can be brought about to suggest that it wasn t only the main reason for the breakout of revolution in 1917. Aspects such as the decisions and actions of Tsar Nicholas can also be identified as important features for the breakout of revolution alongside the social and economic strains and the lack of political reform. Too make matters worse for both the Tsar and the Russian people, little action was taken in aid of these inconveniences. Before the war Moscow had been receiving 2200 railway wagons of grain per month in 1914; however by Christmas 1916 this reduced to only 300. This therefore resulted in the accumulative discontent of the Russian people which only made matters worse for the Tsar as the likely hood of the occurrence of revolution was high. The lack of political reform can accountably be taken in as one of the main reasons for the outbreak of revolution in 1917. The union of zemstva provided medical facilities for the army; however the government did not know how to incorporate them into its own war effort. Moreover, the progressive Bloc called for a government of public confidence in which the ministers would be responsible for the Duma. However, Tsar Nicholas refused to listen to any of their demands, this resulted in the ministers who campaigned for change and reform; were either dismissed or resigned. Due to the fact that no reform was made, all the blame was directed to the Nicholas. Reform was needed greatly at this time yet no reform occurred, this accumulated the ever rising dissatisfaction of the Russian people. Furthermore, as a result of Nicholas s lack of political reform
  • 8. Taken Hostage Iranian Hostage Crisis The relationship between the American people and their government drastically changed in the 1970s. The people began to distrust their government after The Watergate Scandal, oil prices, and the falling economy. President Jimmy Carter, elected in 1976 was seen by the public as an honest man that was working for the people not for the evils of Washington DC. Carter, being an outsider, grew very popular with the American people. His lack of insider perspective became troublesome when he could not explain his clear motives and direction he was taking America. The media had a direct effect on America s view of the hostage situation. Americans were unaware of the growing power of Islamic forces in Iran and that President Carter was at their mercy and unable to negotiate for freedom of the hostages in fear of losing control over American interests in the Persian Gulf. The media was very influential in the rising disapproval of Carter. Everyday Americans were reminded that the hostages were still being held because of Carters unsuccessful attempts at freeing them. Farber also writes about the media in Iran. Controlled by Russia, Iran media was loaded with anti American propaganda that only fueled Iranians hatred towards the American government. Farber deeply discussed the American and Iranian reactions to the crisis. Americans started to pay more and more attention to the news media. The longer the hostages were held, the more people disapproved of Carter. Americans hung yellow ribbons everywhere throughout the country to show support of the hostages. Iranian students at U.S. universities held protests at schools and outside of the White House demanding for the return of the Shah as well as requesting the freeze on Iranian assets to be released. Farber describes the Iranian students plan for the hostage. What turned into a 444 day hostage was meant to only be a three day sit in. However with President

One of the oldest, written around 1000 C.E. is called Beowulf. Originally, this story was told orally, but much later was written in old English. This language was a hybrid of many other languages and has developed into the modern English we have today. While he is already considered a hero among his people, he desires to prove himself and gain more glory and respect. Beowulf is a already respected among his own people, but to Hrothgar and the Danes he is unknown. Before he enters the hall where he seeks audience with the king he demonstrates respect by leaving all his weapons behind. He talks highly of himself and his abilities. This is to give Hrothgar a sense of who Beowulf is and what he can do. The reason Beowulf does this is because he wants more glory. While he is considered a hero, he wants to be an even greater hero. He desires the respect of his people and those of surrounding cultures. By defeating Grendel, who is a descendent of Cain, he would gain a lot of glory, but he decides to risk his life for a greater amount of glory by deciding to not use any weapons. If he is to win the battle, he will win the ultimate respect among the Danes. Beowulf defeats Grendel and is highly honored. However, the next day it is discovered that the best warrior of the Danes had been killed in the night by Grendel s mother. Beowulf decides to go after her as well and has to search the swamp lands for her underwater lair where he fights her and then finds Grendel s dead body. He takes the head as a trophy and the Danes reward him with riches and celebrate with a feast in his honor. Through his acts of bravery he has gained glory and

  • 12. Marxist Lense In King Of The Bingo Game By Ralph Ellison Marxist Lense in King of the Bingo Game King of the Bingo Game by Ralph Ellison revolves around an unnamed black protagonist, in the 1940 s, who desires to win the bingo game which occurs at the local cinema, in order to win the grand prize to pay for a doctor for his severely ill wife. Ellison depicts the presence of the white hierarchy and its devastating impact on the black protagonist through a political statement portraying the great injustices that affect African Americans. Ellison depicts how social status plays a role in how the protagonist feels when he is called up stage and his hostile treatment from the white audience in the balcony that vocalize derogatory remarks to the protagonist. The game of chance and the odds of the double zero represent not only the false sense of hope, but also the constant reminder of the narrow probability that one must receive to win the prize. The themes of the illusion of success and false hope demonstrate the feeling of hopelessness and disparity the protagonist faces as he is chosen for a contender on essentially a game of life and death. Through the use of diction and symbolism, Ellison illustrates the prejudicial society the black community must compete in with the slim possibility of opportunity in a white man s world. Ellison illustrates the social injustices the black community endures through the characterization of the audience in the theater and their attitudes towards the protagonist in order to display the inexcusable treatment African Americans accept in their daily lives. Ellison s use of diction depicts the white structure through words conveying the message of a higher power. The protagonist sees (...) the white beam filtered from the projection room above the balcony, which gives the illusion that the white power structure controls the bingo wheel (252). Consequently, as he feels that he is on the stage by himself with no perception of reality, he feels a sensation of alienation and isolation that felt right in his nature. As the protagonist steps on the stage, the audience responds to his presence by talking down to him which includes being called boy by the man with the microphone. Although he grins at the man s jive talk, he feels

Difference between the arithmetic mean return and the geometric mean: Berk/DeMarzo (2010) the main difference is that an arithmetic mean should be used when each item contained in the list is an independent event. Currently, the water crisis is being driven by three things. First, many governments in Africa are not interested in investing in nationwide plumbing. That is either because they are not able to afford the cost of laying the info structure or they can afford it but feel no need to invest that much. Even if a country can afford to install plumbing, generally, plumbing is only installed in urban areas and has little to no effect on those living in rural Africa. Second, many large companies buy out water rights and use them to dump toxic chemicals with no oversight. The result is that there is less water considered drinkable. Furthermore, this can ruin long time water sources for people that may be nowhere near the business. Third, some companies who buy out water rights sell the water back to the people. Often times, they charge outrageous prices that the majority of citizens cannot afford. As a result, previously free water is now double the average income per day. In an effort to address the problem, a lot of nonprofits have formed for the express purpose of helping increase water accessibility. To do this, almost all of these companies dig wells. The very starting line of the poem I wandered lonely as a cloud informs the poet s profound sentiments of being left alone. It was actually the death of his brother John that led him to loneliness . We should remind the readers that this poem was not a result of imagination. Dorothy, Wordsworth s sister provides us an explanation of the occasion which inspired Wordsworth to produce this masterpiece: When we were in the woods beyond Gowbarrow Park, we saw a few daffodils close to waterside. Thus the poem is a result of actual visualization rather than imagery . In English literature, Wordsworth and his friend, Samuel Taylor... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As human form Wordsworth prefers seclusion but the crowd of daffodils bewilders his senses. The feeling of ecstasy suddenly makes a dive. This poem, obviously inspired by Wordsworth s stomping grounds, is well loved because of its simple yet beautiful rhythms and rhymes, and its rather sentimental topic. The poem consists of four six line stanzas, each of which follow an ababcc rhyme scheme and are written in iambic tetrameter, giving the poem a subtle back and forth motion that recalls swaying daffodils. By comparing himself to a cloud in the first line of the poem, the speaker signifies his close identification with the nature that surrounds him. He also demonstrates this connection by personifying the daffodils several times, even calling them a crowd as if they are a group of

The birthmark, like our sin, cannot be removed. It is attached to us. It is part of us. That is why when Alymer attempts to remove it, Georgiana dies in the process. A gun is a weapon which fires projectiles propelled by explosive force and consists of a metal barrel, trigger, and a handle. For centuries, a gun has been a pivotal element of society, as it is a means of offsetting the balance of nature. In a match between beast and human, beast usually triumphs. However, when a gunis placed in the hands of the human, the outcome of the match is not as certain. History would be very different were guns not invented. The Newtown shooting, and the many others that followed, caused many people to view a gun solely as a symbol of murder. Americans shocked by the incident clamored for stricter gun control while other Americans protested the gun control, asserting that it was an infringement of their freedom. This battle still rages on today. Regarding the controversy, Robert J. Spitzer said, At its heart, the gun debate is a question about the relationship between the citizen, the state s power to regulate, and the maintenance of public order. David Ropeik of Psychology Today went further, saying that the debate is more so about guns as symbols, not weapons. The gun control fight is about our deeper need for safety and identity, Ropeik wrote. These statements make clear the extreme significance guns hold in today s society as a symbol of security. The answer is no. why I am answering this question is that, this question is the one of the main arguments against universal healthcare in America. Even though universal healthcare is a characteristic of most socialist governments there are governments that are not socialist but have universal health carefor example Australia, United Kingdom and so on and so forth. Universal healthcare is a good idea because of its many benefits and simplicity. The origins of healthcare in the United States can be traced back to the 1900 s, the heart of the progressive era (Health Insurance), and from that time period itself it has been met with some serious opposition. Most of these countries now have a healthcare system that is far less complex than America s healthcare system. To that statement I respond by saying this government has a duty to protect the welfare of its citizens and healthcare falls under the welfare of people so let the government do its job and don t be an obstacle for progress. My opponents on this issue may argue that healthcare is a privilege and not a right. To them I ask this question if it is not a right then why do so many other developed nations have universal healthcare? America is probably the only developed country that still doesn t have a universal healthcare system that shows that universal healthcare should be a right in developed countries not a

This occurrence was due to the culture in the Anglo Saxon time period, in which any boy who was born, grew up to be a warrior knight. Those knights fought and killed monsters, and went to war to protect their people. This truth is further explained in the Prologue of the epic, in which it states: So young men build their future, wisely, open handed in peace, protected in war, so warriors earn their fame, and wealth is shaped with a sword. (lines 22 25). This quote helps to further explain and understand how and where a warrior s fame come from. Without war or slaying monsters young men would not grow to become famous, wealthy, and well known by everyone across the land. This lack of fortune, including their heroism and status, would be caused as a result of all of those attributes being solely based on their accomplishments in war and by their heroic ability and courage to battle the monsters that harmed their people. Another way that the monsters play a role in the value system and the heroic code of the warrior knights is that without the monsters there would not be as much of a demand for the warriors, as there are with them. Therefore, if there were no monsters then how would the warriors gain their fame and wealth? Sure, they also fought in wars, but those victories would not have gained them enough fame and wealth to be glorified as much as they were by fighting the monsters. Although, the warriors not only battle the monsters to gain fame

Certainly, the Chinese system possesses certain aspects similar to what already exists in other modern nation states and their governments, however, it is how these pieces coelute together into a coherent political and economic machine that makes the model unique. Politically, the Chinese Communist Party is quite unique. Most authoritarian political parties are either dominated by party elites who only pass on power to loyalists, or merely a military regime.
