Becoming the Dragon, is the first book in The Dragon Inside series, by Alex
Sapegin. This book is about a boy named Andrew Kelimov. He got struck by
lightning while he was on a school trip which leads to him developing an unusual
ability. Andy could not go near any electronic gadget like, computers, televisions,
video games, etc., without the gadget slowing down, or freezing up or flickering
with static. This ability made it impossible for him to play his computer games. He
had to pick up other hobbies like reading and cooking. He also became the apprentice
of a bowman and learned to use a bow and arrow.
He accidentally went through a transportation portal on his way to deliver some
documents to his father. He was transported to another planet called Ilanta. Ilanta is
an unknown planet with humans, orcs, elves, gnomes, dragons and other strange
looking animals like the eleraffs . The eleraffs were described as half elephants,
half giraffes. He was captured and sold into slavery and imprisoned by some of the
inhabitants of this planet. He was starved and tortured while in captivity. He was
caged next to a captured dragon, named Karenger, whom he later escaped with. He
swiftly escaped, but he was fatally wounded and chose to undergo the ritual that

6. Netflix As A Provider Of A Subscription Service For

Through innovation, the media streaming provider, Netflix, has achieved
competitive advantage in the global market. Netflix operates as a provider of a
subscription service for streaming movies and television episodes over the Internet.
Originally founded in California in 1997 as a mail order DVD rental service with a
flat monthly subscription rate, allowing consumers to benefit from an unlimited
number of rentals and no late fees, Netflix has grown to dominate their market and
experience minimal direct competition by seizing the first to market competitive
advantage. Now known as the primary provider of Internetonly streaming media,
Netflix has grown to have a market capitalisation of US$41.1 billion (as of May
2016) from their previous US$3 billion (in January 2013).
Netflix succeeded in basic terms by keeping it simple. From the beginning of the
DVD rental service to the creation of an online streaming website it has been able
to keep the processes easy and corner its market. Reed Hastings, the C.E.O and co
founder of Netflix took advantage of two emerging technologies, DVDs and
websites. His idea was simple, why not combine the two and deliver DVDs to the
homes of consumers and provide them with a simple website from which they can
order films. Hastings marketed his service at the two things he believed every
individual wanted to save on, time and money. However, after a few years of
enjoying the success from the DVD rental service Hastings felt confident that films
7. Analysis Of Michael Jackson s The Equalization Of...
Throughout our generation today, the equalization of blacks and whites is a very
big controversy in everyday life. This year white actor Joseph Fiennes was
reportedly chosen to cast as the role of the superstar Michael Jackson in a British
movie about a road trip Jackson, Elizabeth Taylor, and Marlon Brando took after the
incident of 9/11. This articles speaks about the uproar of the African Americans about
the decision to have a white man play the artistic icon of African Americanculture,
Michael Jackson. It discusses who is able to assume a specific role in movies based
on raceand culture of the character compared to the person playing the character.
Without getting the opinions of people on who they think should play the iconic
popstar, they chose a white man. Joseph Fiennes, a white British man, was given
the role of Michael Jackson in the upcoming British film Elizabeth, Michael,
Marlon . Many people, particularly African Americans, were outraged with this
decision, especially since this was the second year in a row that all the Academy
Award nominees were white. African Americans feel that Michael Jackson,
considered to be a cultural hero and greatest song and dance man of the 20th
century should be played by a black actor. It makes you wonder if a white actor can
play a black character or vice versa. This discussion demonstrates two different
sociological concepts. One being of racial socialization as it relates to the raceof the
actor who should play Michael

provides an improved forecast of how a future interaction will turn out. In another

9. A Study Of Ecology And Its Effects On The Environment
Competition in ecosystems has become central to the study of ecology, and has been
implicated as a major factor behind the patterns of species abundance and
distribution. Though often studied together, abundance and distribution are two
distinct designations, abundance being the density of a species in a given area, and
the spatial arrangement of that species in an area is referred to as the distribution
(Brown, 1984). In ecological terms competition refers to a fight between two
organisms, of the same species or different, for a limiting resource, leading often to
an adverse effect on one or both organism (Birch, 1957). When one of the organisms
in the competition out competes the other for the desired resource this results in a

It is important to emphasize that exploitation and interference competition
mechanisms can be intraspecific or interspecific, thus are classified as real
competition, while apparent competition is typically only of the interspecific type
(Birch, 1957). With that said, of all forms competition, interspecific competition, the
competition between two or more species, has been studied most intensively as cause
behind patterns of distribution and abundance within populations of species.
However, there has been much disagreement regarding the prominence of
interspecific competition in natural environment, and whether it actually effects the
abundance and distribution of species. In this paper the history and application of
interspecific competition, along with a common model used to illustrate it will be
evaluated, through their use in various ecological researches.
History of Interspecific Competition Though the study of ecology is a relatively new
science, the earliest records of competition in biology and in the environment can be
traced back to Charles Darwin (Park, 1954). Darwin, the father evolution, placed great
emphasis on the importance of competition, specifically interspecies competition, in
the process of natural selection and species

The greatest sacrifice is when you sacrifice your own happiness for the sake off
someone else (Unknown). In Charles Dickens s A Tale of Two Cities, Sydney
Carton sacrifices his life for Charles Darnay, the husband of the woman he loves,
Lucie Manette. He loves her so tenderly that he is willing to give his life for her
happiness. Sydney Carton is a man who feels that he wasted his life and he s always
drunk. He is not married but then he meets Dr. Manette s daughter, Lucie Manette,
and he fell for her, but she doesn t lovehim. Sydney Carton is tried from his wasted

So, the first thing that Sydney does is tell Mr. Lorry about what he had hear, she

wait to add that strength to her case (Dickens 337). Sydney overhearing the
conversation is important and know he must plan things accordingly, like when to
switch with Darnay and when should the Lucie and her family leave to England.
Sydney had two choices, he could have pretended that he never heard what the
Madame Defarge was talking about or he could have act upon it. And that s what
Sydney did, he planned everything and made sure that Lucie and her family were
safe. This emphasizes that Sydney cared for the Lucie and her family and he is
willing to do anything, so that they are safe. Sydney is only doing this because he
loves Lucie and he doesn t want to let her down. And this is his chance to prove
that he cares for her and loves her enough to give up his life. Sydney Carton
showed Lucie that he fulfilled his promise to her. Sydney is seconds away from
his death, where he sits with a poor seamstress who is accused of something she
didn t do. After her head is chopped off by the guillotine, it is Sydney s turn and he
thinks to himself, It is far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far,

says that Sydney feels proud for giving up his life

Management philosophy will be the main discussion topics, along with the

ethical standards in business. This makes Enronunique in corporate history for the

our attempts to introduce an ethical element into an otherwise unfeeling system of

The Blind Man and His Story
Raymond Carver wrote the story Cathedral. He was named as well known in
American literature. His interest was always in writing. He was a writer of short
stories and a poet. His story was first published in the magazine The Atlantic Monthly
on September 1981.
How we view an individual makes a huge difference in life because people tend to
judge without any knowledge, which will lead to regret in the future, therefore;
making judgments towards a person, based on their actions or feelings is perverse.
Raymond Carver was born in Oregon in 1938. Since he was in high school, his
interest was in writing. He followed his career in writing and his first story was
published in 1960 called The Furious Seasons. He attends many writing courses
and he was influenced by John Gardner. Carver enrolled in writing programs under
author John Gardner in 1958. (Spark Notes). He started following his career in
writing short stories, poems, and articles. His short stories were also known as
American best stories. He died in 1988, at the age of fifty due to the lung cancer

18. The Problem With Opioids As A Sole Source Of Relief
The problem with opioids as a sole source of relief is that not only are they
physically and psychologically addictive, but the user also begins to build a
tolerance to the therapeutic effects. Eventually one requires higher doses in order
to achieve the initial levels of pain relief. As the dose increases, so does the level
of dependency and addiction. If a doctor refuses to increase the dose for the patient
s safety, the pain returns and patient may begin to feel the effects of opiate
withdrawal. In worst case scenarios people begin to abuse alcohol or seek out
prescription pain medication illegally. Illicit and less expensive street drugs are
often sought out if the afflicted can no longer afford their medications or cannot
find a source of pain and addiction relief anywhere else. Purchase of street drugs
becomes common when addiction begins to affect someone s ability to keep a
steady source of income. As a result, there has been a surge of opioid, heroin, and
alcohol abuse and eventual overdose. (Dart, et al., 2015) Because of this and a
number of other global factors, the field of clinical drug testing is growing, and
quite rapidly. According to research by Markets and Markets (2015), the drug and
alcohol testing market is set to grow from $4 billion as measured in 2015 to $6.3
billion in 2019 at a CAGR of 9.5%. This growth can be attributed to the increasing
number of pain and addiction clinics, among other factors. As a result, the demand for
drug testing facilities

Jurassic Park is classified as a science fiction book or sci fi for short. It ties
imagination and scientific fact together. There were several biological concepts that
were discussed in this thrilling story. These were the concepts that stood out to me
the most: adaption, biotechnology, and amino acid deficiency. It s amphibian DNA.
But the phenomenon happens to be particularly well documented in frogs.
Especially West African frogs, if I remember (Crichton 373). In this part of the
book, Dr. Alan Grant was explaining how a group of all female velociraptors had
managed to breed. Some amphibians, particularly West African frogs, can change sex
in a same sex environment for reproduction purposes. The velociraptors in the story

Henry Wu would change the DNA for the purpose of control of the animals that he
created. More specifically, he took away some of the dinosaurs ability to produce
lysine, a crucial amino acid. Foods rich in lysine. What happened to these animals?
(Crichton 399). This quote is from the end portion of the book when Dr. Grant is
informed that new animals have arrived on Costa Rica. He was also informed that
these animals were eating strictly agama beans, soy, and chickens which are lysine
rich foods. At this point in the book, it is hinted that these animals are the dinosaurs
that escaped from Isla Nublar (the island that Jurassic Park was built on). Dr. Grant
drew this conclusion because he had been previously told by Dr. Henry Wu that he
had altered the dinosaurs DNA so that they could not produce lysine themselves.
Dr. Henry Wu did this for two reasons. The first reason was that the animals would
be dependent on their Jurassic Park caretakers for specifically lysine rich food. The
second reason was that only the creators of these dinosaurs would know what they
lacked and they planned to sell branded food to people who might adopt miniaturized
versions of the dinosaurs. In this way, they could maximize the profits they made off
of their creation. But when the dinosaurs escaped, they needed to find a source of
lysine to compensate for what they lacked. Otherwise, they would not function
20. Legal Services And Legal Service
Commoditisation is defined as removing the uniqueness from a service, rendering
it generic. Legal services, in this context, comprises of different entities giving
legal advice to the public. The commoditisation of legal services describes how
there has been a recent rise in the number of legal services and legal fees are
starting to become the only difference between them . A commercial approach is
applying the law in a business sense. Therefore, I will be discussing the controversy
regarding whether the price based competition in the legal sector will make legal
services a commodity in the future and if taking a commercial approach whilst
giving legal advice will increase or reduce its quality.
The preconception that access to legal services is expensive may stop areas of
society from using them. The recent legal aid cuts, which stood at 8.75% in 2015,
could lead to the assumption that receiving legal advice is too costly and potential
consumers may not subsequently use the legal services in any form. Also, as it is
becoming normal for legal disputes to be settled outside of court, acknowledging
the high cost of legal fees due to its link with commerciality, potential consumers
may look for cheaper alternatives to using legal services and they may seek to
avoid paying what they feel might be extortionate fees for legal advice which may
not reach their expected standard. The belief that legal services are not accessible
and the lack of faith in its effectiveness may reduce
21. Marya Mannes How Do You Know It s Good
In a world that has become immune to accepting all types of art, Marya Mannes
believes we have lost our standards and ability to identify something as good or bad .
In her essay, How Do You Know It s Good , she discusses society s tendency to
accept everything out of fear of wrongly labelling something as being good or bad.
She touches on various criteria to judge art, such as the artist s purpose, skill and
craftsmanship, originality, timelessness, as well as unity within a piecerather than
chaos. She says that an individual must decide if something is good on the basis
of instinct, experience, and association (Mannes). I believe that by using standards
and the process of association, we will be able to judge what makes an art piece
good in comparison to others. However, Mannes forces me to consider the
difference between what may be appealing versus what is actually good, and when
deciding which art we should accept, which is truly more important. I believe that
good and bad are two ends of a large, subjective spectrum of grey area. It is possible
for a piece of art to be good in some areas and bad in others, and if something does
not live up to all of our standards, it does not necessarily mean it should be
dismissed. Thus, I believe my personal standards for judging art are based on
which my standards are largely based on the personal reaction evoked from a piece
of art. Though I agree with Mannes standards to an extent, I believe that certain
standards, such as evoking a personal response, can be more telling of if a piece of
art is good as opposed to its timelessness, or the level of experience of an artist in

22. Essay The Stranger
Albert Camus The Stranger, is told by narrarator, Meursault . Our speaker seems to
be a person detached from feelings, he shows no emotion. Neither the external world
in which Meursault lives nor the internal world of his thoughts and attitudes
possesses any rational order. He doesn t have reasons for doing half of the things he
does. For these reasons I believe Meursault is determined, but doesn t know it.
Our protagonist and narrarator, Meursault is completely distant from his
surroundings. Significant emotional events do not even seem to effect him as they
would for most people. They don t even make a dent. He has no sentiment. His

Our next main character is Marie Cardona. She is Meursaults woman. She
proposes to him but he is indifferent to the ideas of love and marriage, which doesn
t even have a negative effect on her feelings for him. In fact, it might even attract
her a little more to him because of his weirdness. She is disappointed in him but
loves him and still wants to marry him. She is loyal to Meursault and stands by
him through out the trial. She is not on the same level as our protagonist,
obviously. She still holds onto hope in her life. She believes in an upside in things.
She shows emotion. For these reasons she is not like Meursault. She can t just be
so indifferent like her lover. They are on different mental levels and have different
views of the world around them. For these reasons I believe that Marie is a free
character. I think that she is a romantic. I think she goes with the flow and does what
she wants. I also think this is part of the reason she likes Meursault. He doesn t
question her about what she does when he is not around(even though its because he
doesn t care).
Our final main character is Raymond Sinter. If a person like Meursault could have a
friend, this is who he would be. I use the term friend loosely because with such and
indifferent personality, a real friend would
23. Henry Ossawa Tanners Influence On African Americans
Henry Ossawa Tanner was born in 1859 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and is best
known for being a successful African American painter during a time in which that
was rare. He changed how African Americans were seen in art and he branched out
and changed what people would consider to be paintings done by African
Americans. He enrolled at Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in 1879, he was
the first African American there and attended fulltime. There was a lot of prejudice
and racism happening while Tanner was at school. In one incident, some students
tied his hands and feet to his easel and put him in the street as a public crucifixion.
After this, Tanner continued to go to the school on and off for a couple years but in

He was really the first artist that portrayed African Americans both in a dignified and
sympathetic way. He gave the figures character and something to identify with rather
than the general stereotypical images of African Americans as cheerful coons or
dancing darkey with a cartoonish effect. He paints the African Americans as
individuals and references to real people and places in actual time. Many black people
appreciated him for countering the normal images of African Americans, and saw
him as the new visionary for black culture and art. It was very easy to associate and
assume an African American painter painted an African American genre scene he did
not want the color of his skin to dictate what he could and could not paint and what
success he could achieve. He moved on to religion an area that was not associated
with African American painters and thought he could have some success in. Henry

he murdered not in hatred, vengeance, or financial enrichment but on pure impulse

find answers as to what causes them to carry out such perverse acts.
Many believe it is impervious for an innocent adolescent to be born with the
capability to commit a heinous act suchlike murder. But how could we depraved
humanity so much as to turn an innocent child into a homicidal lunatic? This theory
has been long disputed by psychologists and criminologists alike, who continuously
bicker over whether or not these degenerates should be damned for their acts or
granted amnesty for being born with an attribute beyond their control. Serial
murderers are some of the most terrifying yet brilliant human beings in history due to
their ability to kill numerous amounts of people and still have no remorse for their
tormented victims.

26. Essay on The Evil Character Medea in Euripides Medea
The Evil Character Medea in Euripides Medea
Euripides created a two headed character in this classical tragedy. Medea begins
her marriage as the ideal loving wife who sacrificed much for her husband s safety.
At the peak of the reading, she becomes a murderous villain that demands respect
and even some sympathy. By the end, the husband and wife are left devoid of love
and purpose as the tragedy closes.
In Medea, a woman betrays her homeland because of her love for a man. Jason is the
husband that she ferociously loves and makes sacrifices for. They have two children
together: Antigone and Ismeme. In Jason s quest for the golden fleece, Medea assists
him in multiple ways. One of the things she does to help their cause is bring ... Show

Once she learns that Jason has married another woman, Medea s personality turns
completely around. The strong loving wife turns into a barbarian huntress in search
of revenge. After plotting and changing the course of her revenge a few times, she
perpetrates an attack that will certainly kill the new bride. Her method is focused on
the woman, but it may or may not affect others around her target. Medea knows that
the poisoned dress and head adornment will be lethal to Jason s bride, but she cannot
possibly know what will come of Jason, their children, or the king. Her rage knows
no bounds and she sends Antigone and Ismene on with the poisoned gifts. Weigel
describes the revenge of Medea in his critique of the writing: Jason becomes
entangled with a force that crushes his dignity and detachment, that tears his
successes to tatters. At the end he is in exactly the same position as Medea. Both are
bereaved of mate, children, and friends. Both are free to grow old without comfort.
And both are utterly empty inside, except that Jason is now filled with the same
burning hatred that possessed Medea (Weigel 1391).
Upon their return, she ruthlessly kills the children and retains their bodies. She hates
her husband so strongly that she will not permit him to bury them. Even the image of
her chariot seethes hate and revenge. The sun god s dragons on top of the house in

The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Strokes, This three pound

NINDS also explains how the cerebral hemisphere can be divided into sections, or

atherosclerosis is the development of fatty deposits which causes an obstruction in
the lining of vessel walls (ASA, par. 1 2). The second type of cerebrovascular
accident is hemorrhagic. The American Stroke Association explains that
hemorrhagic strokes account for the other 13 percent of stroke cases. The
American Stroke Association also states, It results from a weakened vessel that

manufacture of storage batteries for the electric vehicle, which was manufactured by
various companies. As these companies rushed towards the manufacturing process of
the vehicle, the development of its storage batteries was one of major troubles in the
initial stages of the production process. These companies neglected improvements of
the storage battery by failure to transform any of their previously renowned
characteristics. This was despite expectations by early electric vehicleenthusiasts of a
revolutionary discovery in energy storagetechnology. The expectations were based on
the fact that engineers in the second half of the 19th Century had experienced several
technological revolutions. Regardless of incremental technological changes that have
relatively enhanced the capability of the ordinary electric vehicle, the expectations
were never fulfilled, especially those for better storage battery. Even though there was
significant progress in technologies used to manufacture the electric vehicle system,
none of these technologies were able to meet the expectations. Kirsch s main
argument in the article is that there are no better storage batteries for the electric
vehicle despite smaller technological changes or improvements that have relatively
enhanced the capability of these vehicles. The expectations for better storage batteries
were not realized though the electric vehicle was

Slaughter
Hung upside down by their feet, their throats are slit to drain the blood. This is an
image that appears in most every slaughterhouse across the globe. John Ajvide
Lindqvist s novel, Let the Right One In, similarly portrays these scenes of slaughter
with one difference: the victims of slaughter are humans not animals. Set in the
suburbs of Stockholm, Lindqvist s novel tells of a young and severely bullied boy,
Oskar, who befriends a centuries old child vampire named Eli. Because of her
childlike body, Eli requires her older male companion, HГҐkan, to procure blood for
her. As he hangs his victims by their feet and slits their throats to collect the blood,
HГҐkan s process of obtaining human blood is clearly evocative of contemporary
Western practices of animal slaughter. However, the difference between HГ
Ґkan s
slaughter of humans and contemporary animal slaughter is not merely the victims
species but is, more importantly, the space in which these acts occur. Despite meat
consumption s widespread acceptance, meat production by means of slaughter is still
visually disturbing and thus, in order to be socially tolerable, must not be seen.
Indeed, since the 19th century, the slaughterhousehas been spatially located at the
edges of urban space in order to render its violent actions socially invisible. What
happens, then, when the slaughter occurs within the urban space as HГҐkan s acts of
slaughter do? By comparing animal slaughter to the novel s scenes of human

Question 5, NAPLAN (Year 9 non calculator), ACARA (2012)
Approach: The approach used to solve this scale was ratio set up in the form of a
fraction.
Workings: To calculate the ratio, the actual length measurement is divided by the
drawing length measurement. The measurements need to be represented in fraction
form. The drawing length is 4cm and the actual length is 8mm.
Actual length over the drawing length: 8mm/4cm.
Simplify this fraction by determining the largest common denominator of both
numbers. The largest common denominator of both numbers is 4.
8mm/4cm : 2mm/1cm . Drawing length becomes 1cm and actual length becomes
2mm. The scale is 1cm represents 2mm.
Another way to solve this question would be by using data measurement with the
mathematical concept of division, using part/whole method. Both shapes were square
and would be able to be divided equally. Using the part/whole method and establishing
the number four was one of the common denominators for both lengths.
DL = 4cm. 4cm Г· 4 = 1cm : AL = 8mm. 8mm Г· 4 = 2mm
Scale of drawing = 1cm represents 2mm

Were the Mongols able to conquer such vast areas of land because of their superior
battle tactics or because of the tools and weapons the Mongols used?
I. Introduction
The Mongols were made up of many fierce tribes originating from the steppes of
central Asia. They were able to take over large parts of the known world in a matter
of a few decades. The Mongol empire was the greatest and largest continuous land
empire the world has ever known. Relatively shortly after Genghis Khan, leader of
the Mongol forces, died, the huge Mongol empire split into four Khanates that were
ruled separately and independently. Ultimately these empires also failed after a period
of time but the Mongols had a long standing influence on numerous cultures not only
of Asia but also of the Western world.
Genghis Khan was the leader of the Mongol forces. Originally named Temujin, he
gave himself the name Genghis Khan. The Khan s name has many different
translations and one of them is oceanic sovereign (Jarus). He was a natural born
tactician and conquered many great empires through clever, crafty, and many times
cruel ways to beat the enemy. Genghis Khan died shortly before he was about to start
a campaign against China and the Shin Empire. By Genghis Khan s death, the
Mongol Empire stretched from China all the way to Egypt. A short time after the
Khan s death, the Empire split into four Khanates. However, their combined size had

35. Failure Of The Stalemate On The Western Front
The main theatre of fighting in World War One was on the Western Front. The
Western Front was a stretch of land weaving through France and Belgium from the
Swiss Boarder to the North Sea. The belligerents on the Western front consisted of
the central powers, Austria Hungary and Germany pitted against the Entente
Powers. This involved the British empire, the Russian empire and the French with
the addition of the United States from 1917 onwards. The creation of the stalemate
on the Western Front is linked to a variety of reasons. These include the failure of
the Schlieffen plan, The Battle of the Marne, Plan 17 and the Race to the Sea and
the defensiveness of weapons. Failure of the Schlieffen Plan To a large extent the
failure of the Schlieffen plan was the most significant reason for the creation of the
western front. The Schleiffen Plan was a defensive military strategy to deal with the
French and Russian forces , staunch allies, in order to avoid a war on two fronts.
Which was not what Germany wanted. This plan created by Von Schleiffen Outlined
that troops being sent through Belgium and the Netherlands whilst simultaneously
having the bulk of troops travel down to defend the Alsace Lorraine region which
Germany had gained in the Franco Prussian war (1970). The troops at Belgium
would attack as a hammer swing effect for they would travel south and around Paris
capturing the city whilst the French forces were distracted. However, on the contrary

John Locke, Jean Jacques Rousseau, and John Stuart Mill account for the origins of
women s subjugation in different ways. Each political philosopher bases his
arguments on historical experiences and his understanding of society. Out of the
three aforementioned political philosophers, John Stuart Mill makes the most
compelling arguments concerning the gender hierarchy in his essay, The Subjection
of Women. Considering each philosopher s views on the gender hierarchy, Mill
argues for the most egalitarian relations between men and women. Mill most
effectively tackles the origins of women s subjugation. Mill uses both historical and
contemporary examples to support his views. In this paper, I will explain how
Locke, Rousseau, and Mill account... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the beginning of the work, Mill explicitly argues against the belief that women
are not equal to men. He criticizes the legal subordination of the women to men and
says that it is one of the greatest hindrances to human improvement. (Mill, 196)
Based on this criticism, Mill seeks to delegitimize the gender hierarchy in place
during his time. He argues that the subjugation of women rests solely on theory, as
no other gender hierarchies have ever been tried. He then says that the subjugation
of women did not occur as a result of purposeful deliberation about what would
benefit society at large. (Mill, 197) Mill says that the subjugation of women
occurred solely because women were in a state of bondage to men from the
conception of humankind. (Mill, 197) Finally, Mill explains that laws and political
systems recognize people s relationships with one another and then convert what is a
physical fact into a legal right. (Mill, 197) Mill s arguments show his ability to
thoroughly analyze the origins of women s subjugation and his desire to change them.
Mill recognizes the weakness of the arguments in favor of women s subjugation. He
also recognizes that the subjugation of an entire sex equates to an inefficient society.
Being attuned to the social realities of women at the time allowed Mill to encourage
more egalitarian relations between men and

Or for the individual who find one s true interest, general education is more than
worth the two years it takes to get through. So although the couple of years a
college student spends in general education may seem useless, it is important to
recognize the value of it. It helps individuals by showing them an array of
possibilities that should be explored before one decides on his or hers life s career.
It also builds interesting people who are not just specialists, but who have a better
understanding and appreciation for the world around them. Even though, as
explained previously, general education is valuable it does create stress for the
student who is set on his/her major. For many students, especially those who go to

41. The Electoral System Of New Zealand Essay
The government in New Zealand is chosen via an electoral system, which currently
is the Mixed Member Proportional (MMP) system. In simple terms, an electoral
system is a key component in making a government. Prime Ministers are only
successful under the MMP system if they have the required qualities that are needed.
This essay will talk about one such Prime Minister namely Helen Clark. Further, it
will provide an insight to the MMP electoral system as opposed to the First Past the
Post (FPP) electoral system. The essay will then differentiate between the required
leadership qualities under MMP and FPP electoral systems. The essay will also
shower some light on Helen Clark s leadership under the MMP electoral system. It
will then conclude by determining whether Helen Clark was successful under MMP
or not and whether she possessed the required qualities of successful prime ministerial
leadership under MMP system.
To start with, Mixed Member Proportional electoral system was chosen by the legal
voters of New Zealand in a binding referendum that was initially started in 1992,
where it obtained an astonishing 85% support. The second electoral referendum
was carried out in 1993 and MMP got 54% support. Upon this referendum, New
Zealand s new electoral system was embraced. (The Road to MMP 2012, p. 3) Prior
to 1993, the predominantly used electoral system was the First Past the Post system.
Under the FPP system, each voter has one vote and the candidate who receives the
most votes
42. The Chuorning Of The Ocean Summary
The world is filled with dark spirits from different various backgrounds, and various
religions. They re two distinctive examples involving the dark side of religion, that
being Hinduism involves Asuras, and Christianity involved with Satin. While many
Hindus think that the Asuras are associated with darkness, and at times are known to
cooperate with gods, unlike Christians who see satin as the darkness of the world
would never cooperate with God. To support that the Asuras cooperate with the
gods, I will use the reading The Churning of the Ocean, which describes how the
Asuras are cooperating with the gods even though they re filled with the dark side
of the divine. In the story after Indra the great god loses the power of the three worlds,
43. Analysis Of The Poem Miss Dawn
The Infinilights
Rosabelle Dawn was distracted and getting on her teacher s nerves. Rosabelle s
eyes were darting around the room following a little light that nobody else could
see. The teacher, Mrs. Kay, decided to take care of it, Rosabelle, What is the 5th root
of 32?
Rosebelle was terrified, she had absolutely no idea. 2?
2? Or 2. Mrs. Kay said as she looked straight into Rosabelle s eyes you need to know
these things Rosabell.
Rosabelle felt that this was about more than math. Lately Mrs. Kay has been asking
her to stand firm , whatever that means. I would like to be called Rosie and I know
the answer is two. Rosie said solidly even though she was not completely sure with
what she was saying. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When she finished a gold infinity sign materialized on her hand. She started to peal
the gold off and ate the chocolate. Bonnie lit up for a short time.
That s so cool! Rosabelle said.
Oh, you haven t seen anything yet! Bonnie remarked. Rosie was getting more and
more excited. Watch this! Bonnie snapped her fingers so that her pointer finger
glowed. She drew an infinity sign in the air that materialized into a bendy wire. She
grabbed the ends of it and bent them together that formed a sort of wings. The
infinilight pinched the little x in the middle and strategically placed them on her back
and started... Flying!? To finish it off... Bonnie returned to the ground and traced
another infinity sign on her entire body. She lifted the transparent sign off her and
moved her hands as if she was zooming in on a touch screen. As the infinity sign
shrunk she did too!
Rosabell Penny Dawn could not believe her enormous eyes. That s Impossible!
No it s not. Bonnie repeated the process to get back to normal size. She softly
pinched Rosie. See it s all real, Rosie.
Now I have a HUGE question for you Bonnie said with a suspicious grin.
What!? out of all the surprises today Rosie never could have expected what Bonnie
asked her.

Bonnie took an exaggerated deep breath, Do you want to be an infinilight?
45. Examples Of The Corporate Strategy Of Jaguar Land Rover
Here, from my readings, I will define the two related terms and concepts which are
the corporate strategy and Strategic Operations Management. Then, I will discuss the
link between them. Next, I will provide four perspectives of the operations strategy.

46. Rio Grande Valley Job Analysis
The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley
It is important to choose a university/college because choosing the right one can
help me get the job I want. It would prepare me for the skill and knowledge for the
job. The first step I would use to picking a college is going over the ones available as
said by Katy Hopkins, As you weigh several appealing options, think back to why
you applied to each... (1). You also would need to check if you like the university
with ...an extended list of pros and cons... (Katy Hopkins 1).
The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley has a couple of locations in the Valley.
There are campuses in Brownsville, Edinburg, Harlingen, McAllen, Rio Grande
City, and South Padre Island. There is about 29,000 students enrolled in UTRGV as
of 2015. The diversity is pretty small. Most of the ethnicity is Hispanic at almost
90%. It is then followed by White at almost 4%, then Asian at 3.4% and finally
African American. This is based on the UTRGV accountability report on their
website. The cost of attending the University is about about 68,000 72,00 for four
years. The student to teacher ratio is about 26:1. The instructors have Master s and

this university.
The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is a good university that may help me

47. Drinking Water Lead Contaminated Water
In Flint Michigan, nearly 100,000 residents are drinking lead contaminated water.
(QuickFacts). We are not discussing a third world country on the other side of the
globe, but rather a city in the United States. It would seem as though the land of
opportunity, and the land many flee too should be able to provide clean drinking water
. However, in the United States 310,000 children aged 1 5 are found with an unsafe
level of lead running through their blood stream. (Lead 8). In Flintalone, 8,000
children under the age of six have been exposed to harmful levels of lead. The
agencies and government that was put into place to protect the public from these
issues is often turning a blind eye, and often allowing the public to continue to drink
this contaminated water. A major part of the problem is that lead water pipes run
throughout cities across the United States. Although it would very expensive to
replace all the water pipes running through Flint, not replacing the pipes could
potentially continue to do more harm to the ecosystems, and to the communities
they are in. (rst2) In April of 2014 due to financial reasons Flint s water supply
source was temporarily switched from the Detroit system to the Flint River. (CNN
2). The water was then found highly corrosive. The Department of Environmental
Quality did not treat the corrosion going against federal law. When Flint switched
their water supply back to Lake Huron in October it was already too late. The
corrosive water made the
48. Failure Modes And Effects Analysis
Some key differences concerning the failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA)
and a root cause analysis (RCA) are clarified. Failure mode and effects analysis is
conducted prior to any event. FMEA is a preventive action used to help prevent a
failure. The FMEA committee consists of about three to four members who all are
experts in the designated subject. Through FMEA the committee helps develop
action plans to reduce the risk of failure (Quality One, 2011). RCA is an
investigation that occurs after a sentinel event that is unexpected. Through the RCA
you are looking to find out why did an event occur or not occur, how the event
happened, and how to prevent additional events for occurring (VA National Center
for Patient Safety, 2015).
