Hard Work In The Great Gatsby
The 1920s is the important transition in U.S. that American economy began to recover rapidly, as
American Dream provided most lower classes the chance to move up social levels, therefore,
many people believed in hard work can achieve personal success. F. Scott. Fitzgerald uses George
Wilson and Jay Gatsby, who come from the same class level, to explore the different backgrounds
result the different achievements. However, comparing their different actions, which showed
American Dream actually was a phony process, and how honest you were determined how futile
you would become. In the Great Gatsby, Fitzgerald conveys the conflict between the old wealth the
rigid class divisions before WW1 and the newly rich class that emerged in the... Show more content

Gatsby comes from a poor family, and he has nothing except his dream and courage. Depends on
persistency, he finally gains wealth by showing his colossal house that with a tower on one side,
spanking new under a thin beard of raw ivy, and a marble swimming pool, and more than forty
acres of lawn and garden ( Fitzgerald 5). Gatsby is the embodiment of American Dream, as he
positions himself as son of God and always pursues the great career. In addition, the American
Dream provides most lower class the new belief and leads them to know that everyone has the
same chance to achieve personal dream, as well as pursuing the material life. Furthermore, The
English writer G. K. Chesterton truly showed this new social phenomenon in the same article
named The Fallacy of Success, which illustrated a successful example of achieving American
Dream as shows that The name of Vanderbilt is synonymous with wealth gained by modern
enterprise. He started as the son of a poor family; he ended as a millionaire twenty times over
(Chesterton). Chesterton s view towards such excellent personal achievements came true through
the belief of American Dream, which reflected that diligence and chance are the main

An alternative is to use air as the cooling medium but their performance drops in hot weather
conditions. Maximization of overall efficiency is as vital as the cost and availability of water.
Therefore there is a need to integrate the technologies of air cooled and water cooled condensers.
This paper will focus on parallel condensing where steam from the turbine is ducted in parallel to
both air cooled and water cooled condensers. To optimize the parallel condensing capacities of air
cooled and water cooled condensers considering parameters such as ambient temperature, pressure,
availability of water, fan power, pumping costs.

1.0 INTRODUCTION
Exhaust steam from the steam turbine is separated into two streams. One stream flows into a water
cooled surface condenser while the other is directed to an air cooled condenser. The heated
cooling water is cooled as it flows through a cooling tower, where air is forced through the tower
by mechanical or natural draft. Fig .1

BMF Media Internship Report
Before beginning this internship at BMF media, I came up with two different evaluation
proposals. These were certain ways to prove that I accomplished my goals. My first evaluation was
in terms of my goal that was to participate and plan an event to tell a story for the client. The
tangible evidence I stated that I would submit will be documentation of the process of planning the
event along with photos and outcomes of the event through social media.
My second evaluation was connected to my goal of connecting and working with specific
influencers on a personal level. I said that my tangible evidence would include documentation of
meetings along with emails and notes for the steps of the project that we were working on with a
client. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I have multiple case studies that I have proofread, started on my own, or just added photos and
summaries to. A case studywas something we had to create for the client before and after an
event. This would also help us in knowing what is best for the future and what went wrong
during the event. Before the event we would have a case study that consisted of digital pictures
and examples of what the venue would look like, and then the one after the event that would
have pictures of the event, the food and possibly review of the events. Another piece of
documentation was the big project I worked on throughout all 3 months at my internship. This
was an excel sheet of about 2,000 brands, throughout my weeks at BMF I searched for the right
personal contacts for these brands so we could reach out to them. Some other evidence I have is
notes that I had to take from every call that I sat in on with clients. I also have some power points
of venue options; this is a PowerPoint for events that we had to look for the perfect venue. These
included multiple venues with many photos and descriptions of the venue. In terms of reports and
output, I have email responses from work I have done to show that my work was appreciated as
well as reference letter that I will receive

Conflict Themes In Daedalus And Icarus
The Greek myths, Phaethon and Daedalus and Icarus, both come to tragic ends due to pride.
Similar characterization, imagery, and conflict themes are used majorly within the myths by the
authors. Phaethon and Icarus are very prideful youths. Their prideful disregard of the warnings
from their older and wiser fathers quickly lead to disastrous consequences. First, the
characterization in Daedalusand Icarus represents the theme of the myths. Daedalus is worried
about Icarus, which shows his concern as a father when he says, Above all, don t fly too high! Don
t fly too close to the sun! (pg. 61) Daedalus concern as a father represents characterization because
it is one of his many character traits. Icarus may not have listened to this advice but, it did have an
impact on him that made him remember what Daedalus said at the last second before he fell to his
doom. In Phaethon, Epaphus can represent the theme of the text in characterization because he was
keeping his pride. Within his boastfulness, knowing he ll get a reaction out of Phaethon, he says, I
sit on Olympus with him (Zeus), and he teaches me things and gives me presents. (pg. 49) Epaphus
trait of boastfulness sets Phaethon on his own prideful path as they argue about their fathers
greatness. Phaethon s prideful exaggerations and lies cause him to carelessly set out on his journey
to the Eastern Palace to see his father. It also starts the rising action of the story. All from the

Babysitting Essay
An anonymous speaker once said, Children are great imitators. So give them something great to
imitate. Although many people have never done it, babysitting can be considered a difficult task
for many. Individuals who feel babysitting is effortless rarely consider that the babysitter must
often take on multiple roles at one time. Babysitters must: watch the children without ever
becoming frustrated, get to know the those being watched because not every kid is the same, or
they may even become the driver or the cook for the night. Babysitting is different for every child
and babysitter, and different families have different rules. One of the first things someone should do

Not to mention, if the sitter must make supper, this gives the sitter new ideas of what to fix or
order for the night. After this, depending on the night, the babysitter should see if the children
have any homework and see if they need help with it. The sitter should make sure the kids know
they can go to them if they need help. This is an important step to make sure the young ones
know they can go to their guardian if they have an issue. This will also help create a bond
between the babysitter and young ones. This will show the parents how responsible someone
can be a positive influence. Also, it is important to note that the sitter should make sure to not
get frustrated with the children and always give warnings before any disciplinary action is
made. The fourth step of babysitting is asking the young ones what they would like to do for the
night. It is important to the children know that they have options for the night and it will not be
boring for them. Some kids do not have someone to hang out with or be around unless it is at
school, so it is important to make the night special for them and be genuinely interested in the
things they do. Making the kids happy and their night enjoyable is one of the most important
things when watching kids because a child s smile, and laughter can be one of the best sounds a
person can hear. Even if they ask to be alone, the sitter should always make sure they are nearby

Electronic banking is an automatic delivery of the new and old banking system of products and

PIN number, then there should be a great chance to be theft the information. For the online
payment the same procedure followed by the hackers when we give PIN and card number. The
increase in growth of online banking now suffers challenges due to attacks and the risk of fraud

Sexual Desire And Gender Summary
In the reading Sexual Desire and Gender by Pepper Schwartz and Virginia E. Rutter, it talks
about three views on sexuality. These three views were biology, sociobiology and evolutionary
psychology, and social constructionism. While all three plays a part in sexual desire and gender,
each differed in the way it influence a person. The reading starts off with biology, the natural
occurrence in which humans are deigned to respond to other humans. Biology plays a major role
in sexuality, from how humans have sexual encounters with each other, to how the body responds
to sexual arousal. All biological research on sexhas in common is that not all choices are actually
choices, but are dictated by the body. In the reading it states the biological explanations of sexual
desire concentrate on the role of hormones, testosterone in men and estrogen in women. In men
testosterone is the enabler in a man s sexual arousal, but is not responsible for a man s sexual taste,
desires, or behavior might be. Estrogen, which is associated with the menstrual cycle, is known as
the femalehormone. Some biology evidence findings shows that sexual desire in women may be
linked to the impact of hormones level changes during her reproductive cycle. William Master and
Virginia Johnson, who studied the human sexual arousal system, focused on the body rather than
the social and relationship in which sex occurs. In their findings they found there was a sexual
difference between men and women in the timing of the excitement cycle. The difference is that
malesexual physiology has a quicker trigger, while the female is built up over time.... Show more

How To Establish A Public Hospital
Establishing a public hospital has many advantages such as tax exemption from income and
property taxes, but public oversight may be a hindrance seen as a disadvantage. Commissioner
Green s idea of hiring her nephew does not seem like a smart business idea especially if the council
does not know his healthcare administration or finance experience to run the operation and
development of a new public hospital. Even though there is a great deal of public oversight, an
experienced hospital administrator, who possesses both healthcare and finance knowledge, is
needed to run a successful healthcare facility. In the development of a for profit corporation, there
are many considerations to account for when planning this type of healthcare facility.

There Is Always Two Sides Of A Story Analysis
There is always two sides to a story is a common saying but when it comes to literature, the side of
the story that is told depends on the narrator. Stories written in first person point of view usually
have an unreliable narrator. This is mainly due to the fact that all of the information about the
events in the story only come from one side. The unreliability of first person narrativeis shown in
the three stories, A P by John Updike, The Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allen Poe, and Young
Man on Sixth Avenue by Mark Halliday. The narrators are influenced by the time period they live
in since the social norms of that time impact their actions. They are also motivated by their own
personal emotions which influence how the narrators see... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The audience only gets to see the other characters based on the narrator s opinions. Other factors
such as age and time period affect the narrators points of views as well. For example, Sammy is a
teenage boy that idolizes the three girls that walk into A P. Since the girls are pretty and in bathing
suits, this seems like a natural reaction from someone like Sammy. Had the story been told from
someone else s point of view, they might not have described the girls the same way. For
Montresor and the narrator in Man on Sixth Avenue , the time period that their stories take place
in are a prominent factor in how they act, 1800 Italy and early 1900 New York City respectively.
Montresor most likely would not have attempted murder on Fortunato had the story been set in
modern times. The man in Man on Sixth Avenue would also most likely explained his experience
in New York City much differently if he had been there in a different time period. All of these
other story elements affect the way that each narrator tells the story and how the audience will feel
about the story subsequently. First person narrative limits the audience s ability to see all sides of
a story, but not knowing every detail of every character makes a story that much more

Sex Education Is Not Just About Sex
Sex education in not just about sex. It includes other sensitive issues like sexual health, sexual
reproduction, sexuality and others that parents often feel uncomfortable talking with their children
(Sex Education in Schools Pros and Cons). Sex education does not start when someone is sexual
active, but mostly in Elementry School when the students have no idea what the teacher is saying.
However, in today s world sex is all around from movie posters to magazines. Perhaps teaching
children how to protect themselves early is not a poor idea. In addition, too many parents live in
denial that their children are not having sex, this leads to children not being educated on safe sex.

Birth control had been invented, this lead to premarital sex becoming more acceptable in society.
This demanded for sex education. In addition, in the 1980s the AIDS epidemic began, causing the

pregnancy and STD s, abstinence. Young people are going to learn about sex and our question has
to be where do we want them to learn? From the media? From their friends? Or do we want them
to learn from an educated, responsible adult (Masland)? Besides, having students learn about
conception, the anatomy of their body, and STD s from a responsible adult rather than their peers
will be more reliable and have accurate information; also teenage peers usually know the myths
about sex not the actual information. Therfore, the extreme detail of sexual transmitted disease can
not be learned by a teenage peer because they do not know the accurate information. Finally, having
sex education in school would have the students learn about sex, they would know accurate
information on conception and sexual transmited diseased including HIV and AID S.

Happiness In Albert Camus The Myth Of Sisyphus
Albert Camus understanding of happiness is explained through his perspective of The Myth of
Sisyphus.Towards the end of the story, Sisyphus punishment for forsaking the orders of Pluto was
to push a large rock up a mountain for all eternity. The Greeks believed this to be the cruelest
punishment a mortal could be given. The idea of a meaningless task being done over and over
again is what some might call absurd. One might think that happinessis not possible in such
circumstances. A moment of gratification cannot be seen as something desirable if the same task
is to be repeated. However, Camus believes otherwise. the purpose is achieved... and Sisyphus
watches the stone rush down in a few moments toward lower world whence he will have to push it
up again toward the summit. He goes back down to the plain. (4) The significance of Sisyphus
going down the mountain to repeat his task is explained by Camus. Through accepting the
meaningless task, Sisyphus also accepts his unfair fate. He is calm and at peace with himself
despite the absurdity of his punishment. It could be understood that although the task may be
meaningless, Sisyphus is able accept his fate and continue to move... Show more content on

A virtue is a state of character that sits on the mean between excess and deficiency. He believes
happiness is about having balance in life. The extremes of states of characters are called vices.
Vices are states of character that a person would usually not be proud of, like greed or envy.
However, having vices is not improbable. Aristotle said, For moral excellence is concerned with
pleasures and pains; it is on account of the pleasure that we do bad things and on account of the
pain that we abstain from noble ones (3). People will often fray into their vices to obtain monetary
happiness. Although Aristotle believes being virtuous is what is needed to be sustainably happy,

Anne-Marie Slaughter
Everyday men and women go to work in a variety of jobs as different as those in them.
Yet it is brought to attention that there is a problem. Women don t feel as if they are treated fairly
in their work place. That even with the strides society has made in this country, we still are
dwarfed by the work needed to be truly fair and equal. Anne Marie Slaughter is a woman who has
taught at Princeton and worked in the U.S. State Department. She continues work on public policy
for a nonprofit. She states that women cannot have it all due to the way the work place is set up
and favors men. This outlook is masking a different problem by covering it with gender disparity
and assumptions about the value of men and women.

WHY NO ONE CAN HAVE IT ALL 5
In old age many of the dying reflect on their choices, choosing to take solace in their choices or
regret them. Slaughter quotes Bronnie Ware s book The Top Five Regrets of the
Dying, I wish I didn t work so hard (Ware, 2011, p.688). That was said by every man she nursed.
Giving insight into the old way jobs worked when men went to work and women for the
majority stayed home. It shows that men don t enjoy spending all of their time at work, missing
out on their loved ones. Men just as much as women want to be with their significant other and
children. While Slaughter lightly touches on the fact a work week overhaul would benefit
everyone she doesn t stay with that thought for long. Though I believe if her and other feminists
like her did, change would happen far faster. By creating a divide between men and women in the
workplace and stating women need the only change, it creates greater opposition. It is also a
narrower view on gender itself. If instead of saying men thrive in the current work place and
women suffer without changes being made creates hate for men and the thought that women are
weaker somehow. Gender doesn t give some boost to men or women in the workplace. A man

The Literary Theory Of Structuralism
The literary theory of Structuralism attempts to explain the connections between concepts, images,
and people. Particularly, the French Structuralists utilize the concept of binary comparisons in order
to explain how everything relates to each other. This theory argues that people comprehend the
world around them by the understanding the differences between objects or ideas and other objects
or ideas, e.g. understanding the dark because it is not light. Children learn the concept of opposites
so that they can describe things; they discover the difference between big and small before they
understand the notions themselves. Therefore, by using the literary theory of French Structuralism,
readers can establish the binary differences between the two sets of lovers in Much Ado about
Nothing, explaining how the use of contrasting characters reveals the complexity of love, and
comments on society s conventions in Shakespeare s day.
A leading Structuralist Ferdinand de Saussure ascertains in Course in General Linguistics that in
language there are only differences (70). These differences make up the world, and comparing them
allows readers to have a deeper understanding of life. However, binaries must play off each other
within a context in order to have meaning. Gregory Castle offers the goal of Structuralism:
Functional Structuralism is primarily concerned with language as it is manifested in social contexts
(186). The social context is the construct that illuminates

Essay On Person Centred Care
Introduction
Hi my name is Donna we are here today to talk about person centred care.
Person centred care is where the care goes beyond the normal individualised care duties for
patients, Person centred care promotes and supports the well being of the person with dementia,
and improves the quality of life of people with dementia. Kitwood (1997) promotes that the person
with dementia is equal to that of the person who is caring for them. Many researchers in the field
of dementia agree that, despite a loss of cognition, the person who has dementia is still a person
with the same attributes of a human being as any other person (Kitwood 1997).
Person centred care provides a set of guiding principles for our actions in the field of dementia
care that enable people with dementia to be in relationship with others. There are four major
elements of care (VIPS), Valuing people, Individualised care,... Show more content on

Validation is one of them. Validation Recognises and supports the persons reality (Kitwood
Bredin 1992). This is where we are sensitive to the person s emotions and feelings, we

we are caring for. We have to use a great degree of empathy for the person with dementia and
trying to understand the persons frame of mind, it doesn t matter how chaotic, paranoid or
hallucinatory it is(Kitwood 1997). You can incorporate validation into your routine. Like having a
conversation and trying to understand what the person with dementia is trying to verbalise, and

Assistance should be given to enable the person to engage with everyday tasks as best they can, for
example having a bath and getting dressed in ways that are comfortable and routine for them,
including choices about how and when these are

addresses the audience to justify himself along with his other conspirator s actions whilst Mark
Anthony speaks in Caesar s defence and Brutus prosecution. This essay will explore how each

By purposely not using murdered in place of slain, he creates an effect on the audience to believe
that the killing of Caesar wasn t brutal and that it was for a good cause. The audience cherish
Rome, so Brutus clarifies that Rome is more important than Caesar. Brutus persuades the audience
by speaking for the good of Rome. His repetition of the personal pronoun of I shows that he is once
again distancing himself from the blame. Brutus uses this third person narrative of himself
effectively in order to convince the crowd that even if he wasn t Brutus, the loyal and trustworthy
friend of Caesar, he would of still murdered Caesar. His announcement of that he will slay himself

Throughout Brutus funeral oration the audience and the reader notice a structure and logic of
themes. The structure has assisted his oration to manipulate the audience in to believing his

How One Stupid Tweet Blew Up Justine Sacco s Life
During a time when young people do most of their communicating from behind a computer
screen, Jon Ronson wrote an article called, How One Stupid Tweet Blew Up Justine Sacco s
Life. It is a report consisting of five different stories about people who were publicly humiliated
because of their distasteful social media posts. Instead of focusing on the mistakes of the tweeters,
Ronson discusses the fairness of their punishment. In order to catch and keep the attention of his
young audience, Ronson uses rhetorical devices that will make readers feel emotions like shock
and sympathy. Ronson begins the article with the story of Justine Sacco. He opens with an
enumeration, a rhetorical device that makes a point with a lot of detail. As she made the long
journey from New York to South Africa, to visit family during the holidays in 2013, Justine Sacco,
30 years old, and the senior director of corporate communication at IAC, began tweeting acerbic
little jokes about the indignities of travel (How One Stupid... 1). This gives the audience all of the
information about Justine Sacco that they need, and also makes them want to continue reading to
find out what the tweets said. He follows this opening with quotations of Justine s actual tweets.
Ronson knew that if he wanted to change the way people used social media he had to get the
attention of the generation that uses it the most. He does this by not overwhelming the audience
with facts. Instead he gives them the information

When looking at both companies websites you can quickly gather that they are in fact, targeting
the same audience. The sites contain very similar features. Sephora.com uses the sophisticated
standard of black and white with minimum graphics and a classic font. What really sets the
Sephora site apart is the use of red font, popping up sporadically on the page. The classic trio of
black, white and red along with the classic font gives Sephora a glamorous, retro Hollywood
impression.
Ulta.com also utilizes the black and white motif but instead of red accents, a light orange
embellishes select text for emphasis. The font is considerably more fun; adding to an overall
youthful appearance. There are more graphics and attention grabbing headliners on Ulta.com. The
addition of graphics and headliners does not make the Ulta page seem more cluttered but is
something a regular Sephora customer would not expect to see on Sephora.com
In another similarity, both sites current ads feature a playful, flirty, spring like pink that catches the

The Character Of Naomi Nakane In Obasan, By Joy Kogawa
Naomi is always the good, silent child who does what s expected of her, she takes whatever is
given to her, for awhile without any complaints. In Joy Kogawa s novel, Obasan, the main
character, Naomi Nakane, chronicles her life with distance, and it is through minor character like
her brother, Stephen, and their actions that we see the depth and impact of Naomi s passive nature.
At the start of the book, Naomi describes herself as being a part of her mother, like a branch to a
tree. She often hides behind her mother and is completely silent. Stephen on the other hand, is the
star child; musically gifted from birth. With [his] practice time each night (Kogawa 62) Naomi was
constantly forced to listen to Stephen play his music, and as a child she would sit and watch him,
but not just him, it would be her father and mother, too. Everyone in Naomi s immediate family had

The documentary 30 for 30: There s No Place Like Home was composed by American
documentary filmmaker and author Josh Swade to inform the audience about what is considered
the most important document in sports history; the rules of basketball. The rules, invented by
James Naismith, were going to be auctioned at Sotheby s in New York City. Josh Swade is an

Pig Trachealis Smooth Muscle Pharmomechanical coupling uses Internal Calcium stores whilst
Electromechanical coupling uses Extracellular Calcium

Introduction
Smooth muscle contraction occurs when calcium is present in the smooth muscle cell and binds onto
calmodulin to activate myosin light chain kinase (Wilson et al., 2002). Phosphorylation of myosin
light chains result in myosin ATPase activity thus cross bridge cycling occurs causing the muscle to
contract (Horowitz et al., 1996). There are two known models of excitation and contraction in
smooth muscle, electromechanical coupling (EMC) and pharmomechanical coupling ... Show more

Next, to determine if contraction via the EMC pathway requires extracellular or intracellular
calcium, the second type of stimulus was used and the tissue was stimulated using calcium free K+
depolarising solution. The bathing solution in this experiment was calcium free solution to make
sure all extracellular calcium was eliminated, as without calcium, the EMC pathway is expected to
produce no response.
The second experiment sought to determine whether calcium entry is via L type calcium channels,
therefore, verapamil (10 5 M) was used to block these channels. The tissue was then stimulated
using 0.2ml of Ach (10 5 M) and K+ depolarising solution.
Results
When the tissue was immersed in calcium free solution and stimulated with Ach via the PMC
pathway, a small contraction (1.15g) was observed compared to the baseline contraction trace
(6.37g). Contraction recovered when the bathing solution was changed back to normal Krebs
(5.63g). For the next stimulus, K+ depolarising solution, the baseline control produced a force of
6.17g in normal Krebs solution. When calcium free K+ depolarising solution was used to stimulate
the tissue in calcium free solution, via the EMC pathway, the tissue barely contracted at 0.09g. In
the second experiment, verapamil was added to the bathing solution. When the tissue was
stimulated by Ach in the presence of verapamil, it

Arizona state industrial training school for the remainder of his minority (age 21) because he and
a friend, Ronnie Lewis, had telephoned a Mrs. Cook and made lewd remarks to her.
The real issue is not the crime he committed, but a lack of Due Process and Equal Protection. The
process in which he was taken into custody, processed, questioned and sentenced; and how the
Arizona juvenile justice system worked overall were clearly (at the time) not acting in the best
interest of the juvenile, and appeared to discriminate against juvenile offenders. On June 8, 1964,

Court held that Due process requires, in such proceedings, that adequate written notice be afforded

must meet, and must be given at the earliest practicable time, and, in any event, sufficiently in
advance of the hearing to permit preparation. Notice here was neither timely nor adequately

and wish to be a nurseas the program opened my eyes to how close knit a nursing team.
I have grown up in the countryside, the nearest town being a mile or two away, I d love the
opportunity to study at a university in a big city and I love that there will be practical experience in
a variety of settings like home environment, hospitals which is one of the largest NHS providers in
the UK and out in the community which would be interesting and worthwhile.
I was torn between adult nursing and mental health nursing but after a fair amount of research I
have come to the decision that I d like to do adult nursing as I believe it would give me a broader

Equal Work Equal Pay
Equal work equal pay:
Women earn 77 cents to every dollar a man makes. The most common jobs/occupations in the
country are segregated by gender some examples are truck driving, construction worker,
firefighter nursing, and secretarial work. There are a few occupation that require a degree but
they are still heavily skewed towards men some examples would be law and medicine. The
reason is because women are more likely to do jobs that are similar to what they do at home and
in the olden days like taking care of the family and kids, keeping the inside the house clean and
teaching. Men are seen as the muscles more like construction and engineering.
When you go to the hospital and you hear the receptionist say the nurse will be with you shortly
you automatically think the nurse is a women but that s okay because in your mind you still see it
as it was back in the day just like if you hear construction worker you think male but there are some
women construction workers. Some of this is due to sexism however male dominated jobs actual
pay more than the female dominated jobs even they when they require the same training and skills.
The wage gape:
A few years ago three economists followed a group of MBA graduates from the school of
business at the university of Chicago they followed this group of students just to see the wage gap
they looked at thousands of students from 1990 2006 and the men that graduate made more money

Elliott s experiment the benefits does not prevail over the potential psychological harm. From a
psychological, scientific perspective, this experiment does not add any scientific value; instead, it
provokes emotional distress in those children to achieve her personal goal. To back up my
statement Bloom (2005) says Jane Elliott s blue eyes brown eyes exercise encouraged children to
mistrust authority figures. She compromised the APA s Code of Conduct and Ethical Standard
because she lied, after that she recanted the lies and kept as they were justified because of her
greater purpose. She abused of her power figure to inflict those under her authority. Another way
to understand the deficiency of scientific value in this experiment is to approach it from Erikson s
theory, which discusses about Industry (competence) vs. Inferiority Stage (5 9 years old). At this
stage teachers take an important role in the child s life, as they teach the children fundamental
skills important for the development of their character. Erikson s theory identifies this stage per its
strong peer group influence that becomes a major source of the children s self esteem. As reported
by Erikson, in this stage children feel the need to demonstrate abilities that are valued and
approved by society, in order to develop a sense of pride for their accomplishments. Its mean, those
children changed behavior conditioned by Mrs. Elliott demands. After encouraged and reinforced
for their initiative, those children begun to feel industrious and confident in their capacity to
achieve their goals, they felt superior at their turn according to her encouragements. The dangerous
part of the experiment was during restrictions and moments of berate, where they felt inferior,
doubting of their own abilities and therefore reducing their potential. Its mean, when a child cannot
achieve the society demand (i.e. blue eyes or brown eyes) then they may develop a sense of

Symbolism In The Rabbit-Proof Fence
Symbolism in The Rabbit proof Fence
The movie The Rabbit proof Fence , directed by Phillip Noyce, tells a story of family values
through Molly Craig s journey of 1500 miles on foot, travelling from Moore River back home,
Jigalong, with the rabbit proof fence as her only guidance. Throughout the movie, the rabbit proof
fence becomes the iconic symbol of the connection between Aboriginees and their home.
The Rabbit proof Fence sets in Perth, Australia in the 1930s, when the Australian government
was still heavily under the influence of racial discrimination. One of the prejudiced policies was
allowing half caste children to be taken away from their families and to be installed in a special
ecclesiastical school. Molly Craig, being the heroin of the movie, refuses to follow the injustice
and runs away from Moore River Native Settlement, along with two other half catse. On the escape
back home, the rabbit proof fence is her only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From a bird s eye view, Noyce establishes the image of the fence among the wilderness landscape
of Western Australia. Being the only artificial object among nature, the rabbit proof fence becomes
the only connection from a place to another. By revealing the fence at the very beginning to the
audience, the director is able to emphasis its importance in symbolizing. Slowly, through the scene
when the half castes are talking to fencer, the rabbit proof fence shows to the audience the
relationship of the fence with the children s family. In a two shot with Gracie, Daisy the youngest
half caste reveals the Molly and her dad works on the rabbit proof fence. The fence symbolizes the
only link between the children and their fathers, even though the relationship is not as significant as
the maternal bond. Noyce portrays to the audience through the fence not only the girls family
background but also foreshadowing the importance of the rabbit proof fence later

The subtle yet critical thefts of the night before take place, as so many petty thefts can, under

Women in Athens Sparta
Women in Ancient Sparta amp; Athens
By: Tony Knuth
12/9/09
Historians have spent a long time attempting to establish what exactly life was like for women in
ancient Greece. Like all studies of ancient Greece, they focus primarily on the two most powerful
city states in the Hellenic world, Athens and Sparta. Since the majority of the primary documents
deal with these two cities, historians are only able to decipher a fragmentary view of what life
was actually like for the entirety of society, let alone what life was like for women specifically.
Nevertheless, researchers have dug through the chronicles of primary sources available in order to
provide the most accurate depiction of Greek women possible. Researchers generally start by ...

performance art, specifically choruses sung at festivals or during early plays, along with reading,
arithmetic and writing. The purpose of these performances by young maidens was twofold: first to
entice young men to marry, along with instilling both men and women with the idea of what a good
Spartan should be.
In addition to having a great deal of freedom in education, Spartan women were also able to own
land. In his work Politics, Aristotle points out that about two fifths of the whole land are in the
possession of women . Women would generally obtain these properties through large dowries
given in marriage, or through inheritance as is evident when Aristotle laments the practice of
giving large dowries saying it would be better if there were no dowries, or if they were small or at
any rate moderate . Women s ability to become the sole proprietors of land was something
relatively unheard of in the Hellenic world, hence Aristotle s confusion and desire to reduce the
amount of land held by them.
Athenian women s role was identical to that of Spartan women in respect to their importance in
reproduction. Thucydides states that Pericles encouraged procreation and saw a double

Although the USA market is very strong for Harley Davidson, they are making slow progress in
gaining market share in the international market. The customer loyalty that Harley Davidson enjoys
in the USA is challenged internationally by rival heavy weight manufacturers such as BMW,
Triumph, Honda and Kawasaki. Internationally, Europe has the largest demand for heavy weight
motorcycles; in which Harley Davidson has only managed to acquire less than 13% of this

One of Harley Davidson biggest opportunities is intrinsically linked to its major weakness.
Internationally there is a large bit of a very big pie that Harley Davidson has not managed to attain.
Although Harley Davidson has less than 13% of the heavy weight motorcycle sales in Europe, they

owns the heavy weight market in Europe and suggests that the customer loyalty amongst the
competitors is far from what Harley Davidson enjoys in the USA.

However, this was not the case many states became impoverished and weak, and the governments
had to become even more reliant on European intrusion. (Rogan, 103) The idea of egalitarianism or
egalitarian ideology became important particularly in Tunisia. This idea came from the Sadiqi
College where young intellectual elites would be studying and benefited from the exposure to
Western ideas. Bashir Sfar believed that the French could benefit the lives of the Tunisians through
rural colonization. However, this idea did not get implemented and the official colonization left
Sfar bitter and angry. Sfar wrote about how France is a wealthy nation and can finance the
installation of its citizens without having to condemn anyone to starvation or flight. (Perkins, 60)

Ldr Philosophies Last Castle Essay
Leader Philosophies, Themes, and Strategies Employed through The Last Castle
(Information from the film will be written in a basic Times New Roman, Font 12; however the
information retrieved from Organizational Behavior resources will be italicized, as well as my
added comments)
The Last Castle was packed full of leaders; bad, good, and great according to the numerous
leadership philosophies, themes, and strategies that I will identify. The movie begins with
Lieutenant General (3 Star) Irwin coming off the bus in his dress green uniform, while in
handcuffs. He has the entire prison (staff, soldiers, and prisoners) watching him being escorted into
the Castle prison. While he is escorted, the prisoners are taking bets on how long he ... Show more

Furthermore, withholding resources is one of The 12 Elements of Great Managing (I have the
materials and equipment I need to do my work right, Ch. 2, The Second Element) Basketball is
not considered work; however, it is a part of their daily activities, and withholding items causes
friction on the court, which does not allow for everyone to participate. While chaos / a fight
arose, other prisoners, the guards, and the Colonel observed, until the Colonel finally gave the
order to put a stop to it. Although bean bags were shot rather than live ammunition, apparently
the Colonel had given orders to aim at the head periodically (calling it an accident), especially
when prisoners (or animals, as the Colonel called them often) were killed. This type of leadership
is in line with Machiavelli s, pg. 4, assumed view of human nature in the prison, that human beings
are essentially evil... as the prisoners/animals were evil. Also, I compared this accidental killing of
prisoners in The Castle like the beginning of Sun Tzu. Sun Tzu killed the King s two favorite
concubines because they failed to follow orders. Just like the Colonel gave orders a second time
before commanding the marksman to shoot, Sun Tzu gave the orders a second time before he
killed the concubines. When the orders have been made clear, and are not carried out in
accordance with military law, it is a

Wound Closure Case Study
Result
Wound closure:
At 6 hours, the wound closure in the control (Fig. 1a), diabetic (Fig. 1c) and diabetic groups
supplemented with whey protein (Fig. 1e) was not visible. In contrast, wound closure in the
diabetic rats supplemented with whey protein at 4 days after the injury (Fig. 1f) was greater than
the diabetic rats (Fig. 1d) and nearly similar to the control rats (Fig. 1f).
Estimation of IL 1beta:
The IL 1ОІ ELISA value demonstrated that the diabetic group (2228.18В±183.187 pg/ml) was
lower than the control group (2660.67В±97.967 pg/ml). In contrast, the diabetic group
supplemented with whey protein (2954.33В±388.655 pg/ml) was very high than the diabetic group
(2228.18В±183.187 pg/ml) (Fig. 2). This study showed also that there is ... Show more content on

(3) showed that IL 6 recorded 6610.50В±2.775 pg/ml in control group. In addition, the diabetic
group (5071.41В±90.875 pg/ml) was lower than the diabetic group supplemented with whey
protein (6415.72В±235.095 pg/ml). Statistical analysis showed a significant difference in IL 6
levels between diabetic group and the diabetic group supplemented with whey protein (P 0.05).
Estimation of TNF О±:
In parallel to IL 1ОІ and IL 6, ELISA test of TNF О± showed that the diabetic group
(1374.23В±90.875 pg/ml, respectively) was slightly lower than the control group and the whey
protein supplemented diabetic group (1488.63В±2.775 pg/ml and 1415.68В±235.095 pg/ml,
respectively), Fig. (4). Statistical analysis showed that there is no significant difference in TNF О±
level between diabetic group and the diabetic group supplemented with whey protein (P 0.05).
Estimation of IL 4:
In contrast to the pro inflammatory cytokines (IL 1ОІ, IL 6 and TNF О±), the ELISA test of the
first anti inflammatory cytokine (IL 4) showed that the diabetic groups (822.37В±4.367 pg/ml) was
higher than the control group (505.52В±21.306 pg/ml) and the diabetic group supplemented with
whey protein (287.68В±4.125 pg/ml), Fig. (5). Statistically, there was a significant difference
between the diabetic group supplemented with whey protein and the diabetic one (P

Essay On The Magnificent Seven Movie
Perceived as the home of the U.S film industry, the ethnically diverse suburb of Hollywood has
become a shorthand reference for both the industry and people involved.
Often regarded as the birthplace of movie studios, the earliest (and seemingly most affluent) film
companies to have graced Hollywood included Warner Brothers , MGM , and Paramount Pictures .
First cultivated by studios such as these were silent black and white films, with each major
production company developing and establishing their own dynamic film genre; for example MGM
was one of the first to produce musicals and romances. By the end of the silent era, many of the
main genres were established: the melodrama, the western, the horror film, comedies, and action
adventure ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, they may extend back to the time of America s colonial, such as the case of Fuqua s
film. The Magnificent Seven is set in the rural farming / mining town of Rose Creek, and is seen to
include the typical landmarks associated with Western movies, for example: the town s saloon. In
compliance with its predecessors settings, this Western features deserts and rugged terrain, therefore
upholding one of the conventions associated with this

A New Evolutionary Technique Big Bang Big Crunch Optimization
In previous chapters, the advantages and disadvantages of several modulation methods for
multilevel converter have been summarized. In this chapter Fourier series and harmonic elimination
theory is discussed briefly to derive the transcendental equations for the fundamental frequency
switching method for multilevel inverter. In the second part of this chapter a new evolutionary
technique Big Bang Big Crunch optimizationis used for solving the transcendental equations for the
fundamental frequency switching method for multilevel inverters.
There are numerous methods which are as follows like (SPWM) First Sinusoidal Pulse Width
Modulation, (MCPWM)Second, Multi Carrier Pulse Width Modulation and (SHE PWM) and
Selective Harmonic Elimination Pulse Width Modulation which are implemented for harmonic
elimination specially in multilevel inverter. (MCPWM)Multi Carrier Pulse Width Modulation
strategies are widely used, because they can be easily implemented to low voltage modules.
Normally MCPWM can be classified and categorized as Level Shifted PWM (LS PWM) and
Phase Shifted PWM (PS PWM) methods. (LS PWM) Level Shifted PWM are characterized into
three which are Firstly ,Phase Disposition Technique (PD), secondly ,Phase Opposition Disposition
Technique (POD) thirdly Alternative Phase Opposition Disposition Technique (APOD) [45] [46]
[47].
For the systems where high switching efficiency is needed, it is required and desirable to keep
switching frequency much lower. In this state,

Maximization of overall efficiency is as vital as the cost and availability of water. Therefore there is a need to integrate the technologies of air cooled and water cooled condensers. This paper will focus on parallel condensing where steam from the turbine is ducted in parallel to both air cooled and water cooled condensers. To optimize the parallel condensing capacities of air cooled and water cooled condensers considering parameters such as ambient temperature, pressure, availability of water, fan power, pumping costs. Keywords: Optimization; Enhancement; Hybrid Cooling System; 1.0 INTRODUCTION Exhaust steam from the steam turbine is separated into two streams. One stream flows into a water cooled surface condenser while the other is directed to an air cooled condenser. The heated cooling water is cooled as it flows through a cooling tower, where air is forced through the tower by mechanical or natural draft. Fig .1 Condensate from the water cooled and ... • 5. Conflict Themes In Daedalus And Icarus The Greek myths, Phaethon and Daedalus and Icarus, both come to tragic ends due to pride. Similar characterization, imagery, and conflict themes are used majorly within the myths by the authors. Phaethon and Icarus are very prideful youths. Their prideful disregard of the warnings from their older and wiser fathers quickly lead to disastrous consequences. First, the characterization in Daedalusand Icarus represents the theme of the myths. Daedalus is worried about Icarus, which shows his concern as a father when he says, Above all, don t fly too high! Don t fly too close to the sun! (pg. 61) Daedalus concern as a father represents characterization because it is one of his many character traits. Icarus may not have listened to this advice but, it did have an impact on him that made him remember what Daedalus said at the last second before he fell to his doom. In Phaethon, Epaphus can represent the theme of the text in characterization because he was keeping his pride. Within his boastfulness, knowing he ll get a reaction out of Phaethon, he says, I sit on Olympus with him (Zeus), and he teaches me things and gives me presents. (pg. 49) Epaphus trait of boastfulness sets Phaethon on his own prideful path as they argue about their fathers greatness. • 8. Sexual Desire And Gender Summary In the reading Sexual Desire and Gender by Pepper Schwartz and Virginia E. Rutter, it talks about three views on sexuality. These three views were biology, sociobiology and evolutionary psychology, and social constructionism. While all three plays a part in sexual desire and gender, each differed in the way it influence a person. The reading starts off with biology, the natural occurrence in which humans are deigned to respond to other humans. Biology plays a major role in sexuality, from how humans have sexual encounters with each other, to how the body responds to sexual arousal. All biological research on sexhas in common is that not all choices are actually choices, but are dictated by the body. In the reading it states the biological explanations of sexual desire concentrate on the role of hormones, testosterone in men and estrogen in women. In men testosterone is the enabler in a man s sexual arousal, but is not responsible for a man s sexual taste, desires, or behavior might be. Estrogen, which is associated with the menstrual cycle, is known as the femalehormone. Some biology evidence findings shows that sexual desire in women may be linked to the impact of hormones level changes during her reproductive cycle. William Master and Virginia Johnson, who studied the human sexual arousal system, focused on the body rather than the social and relationship in which sex occurs. In their findings they found there was a sexual difference between men and women in the timing of the excitement cycle. The difference is that malesexual physiology has a quicker trigger, while the female is built up over time.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There Is Always Two Sides Of A Story Analysis There is always two sides to a story is a common saying but when it comes to literature, the side of the story that is told depends on the narrator. Stories written in first person point of view usually have an unreliable narrator. This is mainly due to the fact that all of the information about the events in the story only come from one side. The unreliability of first person narrativeis shown in the three stories, A P by John Updike, The Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allen Poe, and Young Man on Sixth Avenue by Mark Halliday. Had the story been told from someone else s point of view, they might not have described the girls the same way. For Montresor and the narrator in Man on Sixth Avenue , the time period that their stories take place in are a prominent factor in how they act, 1800 Italy and early 1900 New York City respectively. Montresor most likely would not have attempted murder on Fortunato had the story been set in modern times. The man in Man on Sixth Avenue would also most likely explained his experience in New York City much differently if he had been there in a different time period. • 18. The Literary Theory Of Structuralism The literary theory of Structuralism attempts to explain the connections between concepts, images, and people. Particularly, the French Structuralists utilize the concept of binary comparisons in order to explain how everything relates to each other. This theory argues that people comprehend the world around them by the understanding the differences between objects or ideas and other objects or ideas, e.g. understanding the dark because it is not light. Children learn the concept of opposites so that they can describe things; they discover the difference between big and small before they understand the notions themselves. Therefore, by using the literary theory of French Structuralism, readers can establish the binary differences between the two sets of lovers in Much Ado about Nothing, explaining how the use of contrasting characters reveals the complexity of love, and comments on society s conventions in Shakespeare s day. A leading Structuralist Ferdinand de Saussure ascertains in Course in General Linguistics that in language there are only differences (70). These differences make up the world, and comparing them allows readers to have a deeper understanding of life. However, binaries must play off each other within a context in order to have meaning. Gregory Castle offers the goal of Structuralism: Functional Structuralism is primarily concerned with language as it is manifested in social contexts (186). • 22. How One Stupid Tweet Blew Up Justine Sacco s Life During a time when young people do most of their communicating from behind a computer screen, Jon Ronson wrote an article called, How One Stupid Tweet Blew Up Justine Sacco s Life. It is a report consisting of five different stories about people who were publicly humiliated because of their distasteful social media posts. Instead of focusing on the mistakes of the tweeters, Ronson discusses the fairness of their punishment. In order to catch and keep the attention of his young audience, Ronson uses rhetorical devices that will make readers feel emotions like shock and sympathy. Ronson begins the article with the story of Justine Sacco. He opens with an enumeration, a rhetorical device that makes a point with a lot of detail. As she made the long journey from New York to South Africa, to visit family during the holidays in 2013, Justine Sacco, 30 years old, and the senior director of corporate communication at IAC, began tweeting acerbic little jokes about the indignities of travel (How One Stupid... 1). This gives the audience all of the information about Justine Sacco that they need, and also makes them want to continue reading to find out what the tweets said. He follows this opening with quotations of Justine s actual tweets. Ronson knew that if he wanted to change the way people used social media he had to get the attention of the generation that uses it the most. He does this by not overwhelming the audience with facts. The Character Of Naomi Nakane In Obasan, By Joy Kogawa Naomi is always the good, silent child who does what s expected of her, she takes whatever is given to her, for awhile without any complaints. In Joy Kogawa s novel, Obasan, the main character, Naomi Nakane, chronicles her life with distance, and it is through minor character like her brother, Stephen, and their actions that we see the depth and impact of Naomi s passive nature. At the start of the book, Naomi describes herself as being a part of her mother, like a branch to a tree. She often hides behind her mother and is completely silent. Pig Trachealis Smooth Muscle Pharmomechanical coupling uses Internal Calcium stores whilst Electromechanical coupling uses Extracellular Calcium Crystal Nguyen School of Anatomy, Physiology and Human Biology, The University of Western Australia, WA, 6009 Introduction Smooth muscle contraction occurs when calcium is present in the smooth muscle cell and binds onto calmodulin to activate myosin light chain kinase (Wilson et al., 2002). Phosphorylation of myosin light chains result in myosin ATPase activity thus cross bridge cycling occurs causing the muscle to contract (Horowitz et al., 1996). Next, to determine if contraction via the EMC pathway requires extracellular or intracellular calcium, the second type of stimulus was used and the tissue was stimulated using calcium free K+ depolarising solution. The bathing solution in this experiment was calcium free solution to make sure all extracellular calcium was eliminated, as without calcium, the EMC pathway is expected to produce no response. The second experiment sought to determine whether calcium entry is via L type calcium channels, therefore, verapamil (10 5 M) was used to block these channels. The tissue was then stimulated using 0.2ml of Ach (10 5 M) and K+ depolarising solution. Results When the tissue was immersed in calcium free solution and stimulated with Ach via the PMC pathway, a small contraction (1.15g) was observed compared to the baseline contraction trace (6.37g). Contraction recovered when the bathing solution was changed back to normal Krebs (5.63g). For the next stimulus, K+ depolarising solution, the baseline control produced a force of 6.17g in normal Krebs solution. When calcium free K+ depolarising solution was used to stimulate the tissue in calcium free solution, via the EMC pathway, the tissue barely contracted at 0.09g. The most common jobs/occupations in the country are segregated by gender some examples are truck driving, construction worker, firefighter nursing, and secretarial work. There are a few occupation that require a degree but they are still heavily skewed towards men some examples would be law and medicine. The reason is because women are more likely to do jobs that are similar to what they do at home and in the olden days like taking care of the family and kids, keeping the inside the house clean and teaching. Men are seen as the muscles more like construction and engineering. When you go to the hospital and you hear the receptionist say the nurse will be with you shortly you automatically think the nurse is a women but that s okay because in your mind you still see it as it was back in the day just like if you hear construction worker you think male but there are some women construction workers. Just like the Colonel gave orders a second time before commanding the marksman to shoot, Sun Tzu gave the orders a second time before he killed the concubines. When the orders have been made clear, and are not carried out in accordance with military law, it is a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Wound Closure Case Study Result Wound closure: At 6 hours, the wound closure in the control (Fig. 1a), diabetic (Fig. 1c) and diabetic groups supplemented with whey protein (Fig. 1e) was not visible. In contrast, wound closure in the diabetic rats supplemented with whey protein at 4 days after the injury (Fig. 1f) was greater than the diabetic rats (Fig. 1d) and nearly similar to the control rats (Fig. 1f). Estimation of IL 1beta: The IL 1ОІ ELISA value demonstrated that the diabetic group (2228.18В±183.187 pg/ml) was lower than the control group (2660.67В±97.967 pg/ml). In contrast, the diabetic group supplemented with whey protein (2954.33В±388.655 pg/ml) was very high than the diabetic group (2228.18В±183.187 pg/ml) (Fig. 2). This study showed also that there is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (3) showed that IL 6 recorded 6610.50В±2.775 pg/ml in control group. In addition, the diabetic group (5071.41В±90.875 pg/ml) was lower than the diabetic group supplemented with whey protein (6415.72В±235.095 pg/ml). Statistical analysis showed a significant difference in IL 6 levels between diabetic group and the diabetic group supplemented with whey protein (P 0.05). Estimation of TNF О±: In parallel to IL 1ОІ and IL 6, ELISA test of TNF О± showed that the diabetic group (1374.23В±90.875 pg/ml, respectively) was slightly lower than the control group and the whey protein supplemented diabetic group (1488.63В±2.775 pg/ml and 1415.68В±235.095 pg/ml, respectively), Fig. (4). Statistical analysis showed that there is no significant difference in TNF О± level between diabetic group and the diabetic group supplemented with whey protein (P 0.05). Estimation of IL 4: In contrast to the pro inflammatory cytokines (IL 1ОІ, IL 6 and TNF О±), the ELISA test of the first anti inflammatory cytokine (IL 4) showed that the diabetic groups (822.37В±4.367 pg/ml) was higher than the control group (505.52В±21.306 pg/ml) and the diabetic group supplemented with whey protein (287.68В±4.125 pg/ml), Fig. (5). Statistically, there was a significant difference between the diabetic group supplemented with whey protein and the diabetic one (P ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Essay On The Magnificent Seven Movie Perceived as the home of the U.S film industry, the ethnically diverse suburb of Hollywood has become a shorthand reference for both the industry and people involved. Often regarded as the birthplace of movie studios, the earliest (and seemingly most affluent) film companies to have graced Hollywood included Warner Brothers , MGM , and Paramount Pictures . First cultivated by studios such as these were silent black and white films, with each major production company developing and establishing their own dynamic film genre; for example MGM was one of the first to produce musicals and romances. By the end of the silent era, many of the main genres were established: the melodrama, the western, the horror film, comedies, and action adventure ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, they may extend back to the time of America s colonial, such as the case of Fuqua s film. The Magnificent Seven is set in the rural farming / mining town of Rose Creek, and is seen to include the typical landmarks associated with Western movies, for example: the town s saloon. In compliance with its predecessors settings, this Western features deserts and rugged terrain, therefore upholding one of the conventions associated with this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. A New Evolutionary Technique Big Bang Big Crunch Optimization In previous chapters, the advantages and disadvantages of several modulation methods for multilevel converter have been summarized. In this chapter Fourier series and harmonic elimination theory is discussed briefly to derive the transcendental equations for the fundamental frequency switching method for multilevel inverter. In the second part of this chapter a new evolutionary technique Big Bang Big Crunch optimizationis used for solving the transcendental equations for the fundamental frequency switching method for multilevel inverters. There are numerous methods which are as follows like (SPWM) First Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation, (MCPWM)Second, Multi Carrier Pulse Width Modulation and (SHE PWM) and Selective Harmonic Elimination Pulse Width Modulation which are implemented for harmonic elimination specially in multilevel inverter. (MCPWM)Multi Carrier Pulse Width Modulation strategies are widely used, because they can be easily implemented to low voltage modules. Normally MCPWM can be classified and categorized as Level Shifted PWM (LS PWM) and Phase Shifted PWM (PS PWM) methods. (LS PWM) Level Shifted PWM are characterized into three which are Firstly ,Phase Disposition Technique (PD), secondly ,Phase Opposition Disposition Technique (POD) thirdly Alternative Phase Opposition Disposition Technique (APOD) [45] [46] [47]. For the systems where high switching efficiency is needed, it is required and desirable to keep switching frequency much lower. In this state, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
