The Importance Of The Female Egg For Reproduction
Abstract From Aristotle and Plato studying animals. To 1653 William Harvey discovering the
importance of the female egg for reproduction. Anton Van Leeuwenhoek in 1678 used the
microscope to identify sperm as a seed. Elizabeth Osgood Goodrich Willard came up with the
term sexology and opened to the research to understand sex in a whole new level. In this paper
we will learn about a couple different sexologist and how they did the research on sex.
Keywords: Havelock Ellis, Kurt Freund, Richard von Krafft Ebing, Masters Johnson 1897
Havelock Ellis reflected his view of gays and lesbians as having an inside out, or inverted pattern
of erotic attraction. Ellis had a desire to investigate the nature of sex. He needed to have a
physiological understanding of humanity before he turned his attention to the psychology. Ellis
was determined then to become a physician. Despite his training Ellis never made the practice of
his medical training central to his professional life (Bering, 2013). One of this sexologist s most
important contributions was his clarifying that homosexuality is a psychological orientation, not
simply a random sex act or behavior involving the same sex. He didn t personally believe that gay
and lesbians were perverts, but he used this term to convey how religious moralist wrongly saw
homosexuals and other deviants as deliberately going against what is right, since for hundreds of
years before it ever connoted anything sexual, pervert was an epithet

Le Cordon Bleu By Julia Child Summary
Written by Julia Child, the article Le Cordon Bleu opens up a world of cooking to her readers. In
order to fulfill her dreams, Child enrolled in a class at le Cordon Bleu, and from then on, Child
learned the basics of cuisine with classmates and Chef Bugnard. During class, demonstrations were
held by Child s favorite instructors named Pierre Mangelatte and Claude Thilmont, who both
impacted Child as a chef. Meanwhile, Child was growing into a promising cook; but now in the
light of her final examination, she had to prepare very diligently. After obtaining an exam, Child
started her test: except she had forgotten what the assigned dish was! Unfortunately, she promptly
failed to earn her diploma. Buried in shame, Child reflects that it was... Show more content on

Despite Child s defeat at Le Cordon Bleu, she became one of the most famous cooks in American
history. Clearly, excessive schooling is not needed to become successful in cooking. This
revelation is also seen in Lisa Suhay s article, What was the recipe for Le Cordon Bleu s US school
closings? , when she states, [I believe] that formal education is not what [chefs] look for in [their]
culinary staff. (Suhay 1). Although many job recruiters look for experience when looking for
jobs, certain jobs like cooking value more talent than what is in the resume. Consequently, this
change in hiring is fueling the new generation, the millennials. Additionally, many people have
become successful without higher schooling for their profession, for example; Steve Jobs, Bill
Gates, and Ina Garten. Evidently, the talent based success of other celebrities shows that for
certain fields, passion is worth more than the rising price for a diploma. Understanding the need
for certain professions and knowing what they are looking for in an employee has the potential to
save the stress and money for college and help take an individual to their dream job sooner and
more efficiently. Clearly, this belief was not founded nor liked in the early twentieth century. For
Child, although the staggering financial cost of schooling was a problem,

Relationships In Disney s Snow White And The Seven...
Relationships changing in Disney In this essay I am going to compare and contrast the
evolution of relationship expectations portrayed in Disney s Snow White and the Seven
Dwarves, and Frozen, and how closely they mesh with relationship expectations of their time.
The movies Snow White and Frozen seemed like good examples because they have a lot of
similarities as well as differences. In both Disney movies the princess meets a man, but the
expectations and interactions between princess and man are vastly different. They both also have
other people in their lives. Snow has the dwarves and Ana has her sister. Their treatment of them
are also vastly different. The men they fall for while similar in some ways, seem to have different
requirements, and different roles for the princess. In Snow White the Snow and the prince meet,
share one song, a kiss and are married. Terri Wright, who wrote an article on Disney s choice of
adapting Snow White talks about how, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs reflects popular culture
of the time through its development of the romantic element (3). When Snow White came out love
was wanted in a relationships but it was not the only factor. Woman did not work outside the home
and didn t move out of their parents house unless they got married. This is portrayed in the movie
with Snow White staying at home to cook and clean up after the dwarves until the prince comes to
take her away.
In Frozen the main princess does have a similar instance of a

Analysis Of Wembley Stadium Project Management
A project is a temporary endeavour that creates a unique result. Time, budget, resources, and
performance specifications, to meet requirements made by stakeholders, limit a project (Project
Management Institute, 2013, pg.3). Project management is the application of tools, techniques, and
knowledge to help achieve the three main constraints of scope, cost and time (Project Management
Institute, 2013, pg.5). This applies managerial process and gives project managers the
opportunity to make a project successful. However, there are still numbers of project failures
both big and small projects. This failure does not only affect finances but also demoralizes
employees who have laboured diligently to complete the work. The case of Wembley Stadium
project failure will be analyzed in this paper to illustrate project management difficulties a project
can encounter if appropriate tools and techniques are not successfully developed, implemented,
and evaluated within the project management processes. The major problems concerning the
Wembley Stadium project were scope, time, cost, quality, and stakeholder issues (Carter, 2002).
However, this paper would be focusing on scope, time and cost issues. The format of this paper
will include the project analysis, which will provide brief description of the Wembley stadium
project, and main reasons why the project failed. This will be followed by the analysis of how the
issue of the project failure is related to project management knowledge

Kingsglaive Final Fantasy XV
Movies, a collection of scenes put together to create a coherent story, also a way for people to
express their fantasies and creativities. But from the perspective of us viewers, movies are a shape
of entertainment that we use. Personally any type of entertainment movies, games, and so on must
have this important element in itself. It is the story. Is the story intriguing? Engaging? Interesting?
These elements are important in a movie. Today I am going to give my opinions on Kingsglaive
Final Fantasy XV beginning with summary of the story, the things that I liked, and the things that
this movie lacked. The story is told from the perspective of Nyx Ulric, while the story itself is
rather simple, an advanced nation of technology called the Empire of Niflheim are invading every
country that existed in the world of Eos. The empire wanted to rule every land that ever... Show

What this movie lacks is the simplicity, the story tried to tell too many thing in the movie
resulting in confusion to the common people who watched the movie without any prior
knowledge to the world of Final Fantasy XV. The screen time for the supporting character feels
so small that we can t feel connection to the characters that died. The motivation weren t well
written either because we can feel the lack of reason to why this character does what he does. For
the conclusion, Kingsglaive Final Fantasy XV, is a visually stunning CG movie with tons of effect
and superhuman ability concept that is a very interesting style of movie. But it severely lacks in the
coherent story, the motivation, and fail to create a connection to the characters because of their lack
of screen time, and motivation, overall this is a great

How Did Chanel Change In The 1920s
During the 1920s the art world experienced a lot of change. The art world began to display its
new flawless works in colorful expressionism. Haute couture, French for high fashion, was no
exception to these newly made changes. Coco Chanel born as Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel was an
artist of clothing and of beauty. Chanels early life was not as pleasing as she made it known to be.
Chanel lied about her childhood experiences in order to avoid social prejudice that accompanied the
situations in her upbringing.
Chanel was introduced into the world of art in 1908 after moving in with her lover
Etienne Balsan. It was in his home that she began designing hats, which would then lead to her
initial success in the world of fashion. Chanel moved on in her ... Show more content on

Chanel gained popularity from some of her revolutionizing ideas. Just as the rest of the art world,
haute couture also experienced a drastic change during the 1920s. Chanel s fame began with her
refashioning of an old jersey. Chanel herself said My fortune is built on that old jersey that I d
put on because it was cold in Deauville, (Chanel). Chanel s fame came from one simple idea and
has blossomed to her world wide success.

Chanel correlates with the world of art in her time as she began introducing new concepts to the
world of fashion just as impressionist movements began around her time of fame. Chanel
introduced many unheard of concepts which also attributed to her fame. Her introduction of the
color black to the world of fashion is the reason we have the phrase little black dress . Chanel
took something that was seemingly exclusive to funerary occasions and brought it straight into the
world of high fashion. Chanel herself said Women think of all colors except the absence of color.
I have said that black has it all. White too. Their beauty is absolute. It is the perfect harmony

Deborah Penimpede What Is A Comuter Student Summary
Coherence and emphasis in an essay are almost as important as the content is. Without coherence
and emphasis, the reader will simply lose interest in the essay or they will be unable to follow what
the author is trying to share. However, the author must be considerate about when and how
coherence and emphasis are created. In the essay, What is a Commuter Student? by Deborah
Pennimpede, the author advantageously employs strategies of coherence and emphasis throughout,
with her transitional words and phrases, the organization of the essay, and her choice of sentence
types. The coherence in the essay What is a Commuter Student? is like peanut butterbetween two
pieces of bread it holds the essay together, while at the same time makes it easy to digest. The author
achieves coherence through her transitional phrases, her connection between the first and last
sentences of the paragraphs, and her connection between her introduction and concluding
paragraphs. First, Deborah Pennimpede creates coherence through her transitional phrases in her
paragraphs. One impressive choice of a transition phrase that the author employs is, And even if
commuters do find the time to be home for supper, they often find it far from quiet when they try
to study. This is a superb example because it is tying the previous part of the paragraph into the
next from not being home because of a job to being home, but not having peace and quiet to study.

Essay On Intestinal First Pass Metabolism
6. Conclusions:
Drug absorption and metabolism are very complicated processes that involve many physiological
and physicochemical factors. Adequate information about the processes determining the oral F of a
drug is essential for a successful drug development process. In the recent years, our knowledge
about the expression of drug metabolizing enzymes in the intestinal wall has expanded. In addition,
the availability of in vitro and in vivo data has clearly demonstrated the significant contribution of
intestinal metabolism in mediating the extent of first pass elimination and DDIs. PBPK models
provide an effective and reliable tool to evaluate the role of intestinal first pass metabolism in the
prediction of potential DDIs. The use and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, although in vivo studies of human intestinal drug metabolism could provide very
informative data, these studies are very difficult to conduct due to several technical and ethical
challenges. Thus, the availability of a reliable tool that can scale data from the in vitro setting to in
vivo in humans by integrating IVIV extrapolation (IVIVE) to the appropriate human in vivo system
using algorithms and physiologically relevant scaling factors might help overcome this drawback.
PBPK modeling offers the solution to bridge the gap between in vitro and in vivo systems. PBPK
modeling takes into consideration the interaction of drug related factors with physiological factors,
which enables the prediction of plasma and tissue concentration versus time profiles and explains
several mechanisms (such as first pass metabolism) in an in vivo system. The main advantages of
PBPK models over other models are: (1) they account for substrate concentrations at the enzyme
site, Michaelis Menten constants, and potential saturation of metabolism and (2) they accommodate
any potential regional differences in intestinal availability because of the heterogeneous expression
of drug metabolizing enzymes along the small intestine. Therefore, PBPK modeling has become a
cornerstone tool in the pharmaceutical industry because it has the ability to translate all relevant
generated data during

Bringing Back the Big Guns A Star Wars: The Force Awakens Analysis
It s true the Force, the Jedi, all of it. It s all true (Harrison Ford, The Force Awakens). The new
Star Wars flick The Force Awakens burst onto the big screen with enormous critical and monetary
success this past winter, and it seems that the franchise has truly been revived from the overall
upsets of the prequels back to its epic roots in pop culture. But does the movie really hold up
compared to the original trilogy? Indeed, the film shines through its engaging plot, important
themes and flawless technique.
The Force Awakens is very similar in plot to A New Hope, but there are plenty of interesting
twists. The movie starts off on the desert planet of Jakku. Poe, a rebel fighter, is taken into
custody by the big bad of the film Kylo Ren. However, Finn, one of the First Order s
stormtroopers, helps him to escape Ren s ship and they crash land on Jakku. With Poe seemingly
killed in the crash, Finn wanders into town and meets our main heroine, Rey, who is a scavenger
fending for herself on Jakku. Rey has found a BB 8 droid belonging to Poe and the Rebel Alliance
with a map piece leading to the missing Jedi Luke Skywalker. Finn lies to Rey about being a rebel
fighter to escape Jakku with her. On their journey towards the Rebel Alliance, the two encounter
friends and foes alike, and Rey ends up captured by Ren due to her awakened Force powers. With

the slight amount of control that each company has over its price in the market.
When it comes to producing video game consoles there are 3 current producers. Sony, Microsoft

the assumption that gaming communities are divided due to Gamergate when it isn t. Today,
gamers are more united than ever before under one banner. Hatred and Huniepop were extremely
successful despite widespread criticism from anti gg. In contrast, anti gg games such as Sunset

Most importantly, Haines believed in the talking point shared by anti gg and SJWs in trying to
make the internet a more positive place for everybody because there s too much harassment and
everyone need safe space. They want everyone on the internet to be govern by social rules
because they themselves get offended by texts they read on a monitor screen sent by a random

The Coexistence Of Good And Evil In Beowulf
Beowulf, is a hundred year old epic poem by an unknown author. It was written down sometime
during the 7th century, and is set during the Anglo Saxon era. The piece follows a Geat named
Beowulf, who journeys to Denmark in order to assist the Danes in vanquishing a terrifying monster.
Beowulf battles the great monster, named Grendel, which results in the Beowulfripping the creature
s arm off. However, peace is not sustained for long, because Beowulf must then fight Grendel s
mother, who attempts to avenge her son s injury. Even after Beowulf defeats the mother, the town

In Beowulf, the light is found in the mead hall. However, Tolkien also makes clear goodness can
not exist without evil, and all outside forces want to destroy the happiness. He relates this to the

(or heroic warriors) can be seen as light, and Grendel, who is the physical embodiment of
darkness, is the evil trying to destroy mankind. Even after the evil is defeated, one can only hold

Unfair treatment of human beings is a crime against humanity because every person should have
the right to dress, talk, live, peruse what feels right for them and not being limited to what the
society propels as being the right thing to do. People fail to realize that there are being violated,
and unconsciously accept the violation as a norm. Two of the most notorious social constructs are
racial and sexual classification of human beings. People are treated with the utmost disrespect, are
ostracized and denied basic human rights/life chances such as education, housing, health care based
on their race, gender and sexual orientation. Karl Marx, Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, Michel
Foucault, Erving Goffman conjure up theories that sheds light on the fact that racial and sexual
classifications are social constructs set in place to ensure that the elite gets the power they desire.
The elite, a select group that holds superiority over others use social constructs as way to control
the masses and gain more power. They do so by relying on people s sense of knowledge and truth.
According to Foucault, a French philosopher and a social theorist, knowledge is power Foucault
uses the term power/knowledge to demonstrate the fact that power is built through acceptance of
some sort of knowledge, scientific understanding and truth (Foucault 1998). Eeach society has their

may set up suggestion boxes in shops or questionnaire online in order to collect opinion from
customers. Another way is hire market research companies to find out customers preferences. After
conducted customers preferences, clear product lines should be developed as those existing are
overlapped in styles. Therefore, similar product lines should be eliminated and combined into one
to save cost and meet target customers preferences. For example, edc man and edc esprit can be
combined as they are undeniably similar to each other.
Problem Weak AdvertisingEsprit has seldom type of advertising, so it should development the new
advertising. Importantly, the density of its advertisement is low and the image of the advertisement
is deviated from trends. Investment in advertising is too low, for example, their spokesmen are not
well known compared to the spokesmen hired by their counterparts. Recommendation Promotion
To boost Esprit s promotion, some promotion strategies will be developed. Primarily, arts
department should be reformed in order to build a fashionable image by the advertisements. Also,
the print ads should be published in high end fashion magazines, like Vogue and Elle. Massive
posters can be hung up

Green Supply Chain Management
In Automotive Production
Stephanie C. Soutier
College of Charleston
Abstract
This paper investigates the impact of green supply chain management on industry, consumer
perception and environment. Through research into multiple companies and case studies, a
distorted perception among large corporations shows a historic struggle to find a balance between
profit and sustainability. However, the potential long term effects of the lack of environmental
courtesy cannot be undone and therefore must be carefully engineered. Multi billion dollar
automotive corporations such as Hyundai and Toyota will be discussed and studied in depth to

Green Supply Chain Management
In Efficient Business Practices
The automotive industry changed the way that Americans purchased products when cars became
an affordable luxury in the early 19th century. Not only did cars drastically reduce travel in daily
life, they provided a gateway of possibilities for expanding business beyond carriage or foot travel.
Due to the mass production assembly line strategy implemented by Henry Ford, cars could be
produced quickly and efficiently. This dramatic shift in production dropped prices to the affordable
level for the average American, which led to the establishment of buying on credit. The automotive
industry provides economic growth and convenience in America and throughout the world but this
amenity comes at a great price to the environment. Throughout the entire life cycle of an automobile
, carbon emissions and waste are produced. Although most believe that automobiles creates only
carbon emissions when in use, the process begins negatively contributing to the environment long
before and long after the life of the car. Additionally, the understanding and research related to
carbon emissions from the use of gasoline powered cars has provided consumers with an awareness
of their effect on the environment. For some, this realization has prompted conservatory measures
in vehicle use, utilizing public

The Characterization Of Ralph In Lord Of The Flies By...
Have you ever thought about what you would do if you had the opportunity to be head manager
or chief of whatever it is you love to do? Are you positive that you have the experience to
overcome the responsibility or even the consequences? In Lord of the Flies, William Golding, uses
the characterization of Ralph to represent the overall leadership needed in order for the infants to
survive throughout the journey. It all embarks when a planecarrying a group of boys is shot down
over the Pacific and the pilot of the plane is killed. Fortunately, many of the boys survive the
crash and find themselves deserted on an uninhabited island, where later on they discover that
they are alone without adult supervision. This instantly leads to chaotic trepidation, which means
an alliance would be likely mandatory. Leadership is a key factor utilized in the story and
basically without this hook, the rest of the minors would be nearly prone to their surroundings.
This would lead to a huge conflict right off the back and affect their chances of getting off the
island. Ralph expresses his confidence immediately by feeling like he has the courage of being the
leader. In the beginning, he automatically considers himself as an option for the others to elect. In
the story, William states, Jack started to protest but the clamor changed from the general wish for a
chief to an election by acclaim of Ralph himself. (15) .This signifies the conviction Ralph senses

Colonialism And Christianism
The role colonialism has played in the involvement of Christianity practice in East Africa, is
because of the impact of outside sources have determined the historical instabilities of the practice
of Christianity and its branches. The expansion per year would result in the requirement to provide
four times the amount of personnel, finance, church building, provision for Christian education, etc
, although this all depends on the susceptibility of the Europeans and their economic, political and
social influences. In Mahenge, Tanzania, there was scarcity in the ratio of priests (including high),
to the congregation, compelling the administration of the Church (Green 1995: 34). The 1900 s
were when a large amount of missionaries were associated with colonial authorities, and this lead
many to have the assumption of missionaries and the administrators having little to no difference
(Gray 1982: 60). The African missionaries run by Europeans, had an intimate dependence on the
support of secular rulers (Green 1982: 65). Communication within the sub Saharan were in no
sphere more significant than in the revolutionary changes that were taking place , and the
independence addressed the missions, state, and also albeit for their own benefit (Green 1982: 66).
The communication sphere for missionaries was generating innovations of critical importance for
Africans (Green 1982: 66).

Christians and Jews alike use the term Messiah, however not always in same way. Stanley E
Porter wrote Christians have equated the word Messiah with Jesus, he anointed one, because they
believe that he fulfilled the messianic duties that were a part of the Jewish belief which was in
place well before he had walked the earth. However, the Jewish people has not accepted Jesusas
being the Messiah, because they believe that the Messiah that is to save them, has yet to come.
They view the Messiah as a messenger sent from God, whom will come at the end of time to
deliver them from nations and they will glorify Gods name. However, Joseph A. Fitzmyer agrees

Superego Of Sigmund Freud
Sigmund Freud, a renowned psychologist and psychoanalyst, is notably known for creating the
idea of the id, the ego and superego. These three concepts, according to Freud, make up the human
psyche and provide some insight and understanding into how the human mind works. These so
called systems in the brain are in no way physical but together, they make up a whole and
contribute towards an individual s behavior.
The id is described as the primitive component of one s personality as it consists of everything
biologically inherited at birth. This includes one s instincts and sexual desires. The id can be
described as being impulsive and contains all of the drives and hidden urges of an individual.
Repressed memories in the unconscious mind resides in the id. Freud believed that the id, ego and
superego developed at different stages in an individual s life. A newborn child is all id, as it
does not have the morals and social influences that come with the ego and superego. The ego,
unlike the id, is partly conscious and partly unconscious. It serves as the intermediary between the
id and the superego as it makes decisions based on reason, instead of unrealistically and logically
(as the id would) or based on morality and societal influences (as the superego would). The ego
would create the realistic ways to fulfill the id s demands that are impulsive and with little regard to
any consequences. Defense mechanisms exist within the ego due to the fact that it often faces

Twelfth Night Gender
In the play Twelfth Night, Shakespeare plays with the notions of doubling and identity to create
an overlying comedic composition. Shakespeare was known to use gender as a subject in his
comedies, and Twelfth Night is no different. Each of the characters is developed by one or more of
these literary devices to create unique storylines and plot twists, and there are many instances in
which the cultural norms of genderroles and attractions are tested. Many critics, in particular
Northrup Frye, would consider Twelfth nighta comedy because of the characters and their situations
throughout the play. Northrup Frye is a critic who wrote a multitude of essays analyzing the
different types of genres in literature. In The Mythos of Spring: Comedy,... Show more content on

Twelfth Night is still considered to be one of Shakespeare s most successful comedies in modern
times. Doubling is the act of having a character pretend to be another character by using a
disguise or by trickery. Although there are not a lot of instances of doubling in Twelfth Night, it
is still considered to be one of the main literary devices that make this play a comedy.
Shakespeare manipulates the story line and its characters by using disguises and trickery. The
main plot of this story revolves around disguise. Viola, the main character, disguises herself as
Cesario. She decides to disguise herself in order to gain entrance into the Duke Orsino s house.
Viola pleads to the ship captain: Conceal me what I am, and be my aid/ for such disguise as
happy shall become/ the form of my intent. I ll serve this Duke (I.ii. 56 58). This is the moment
in which Viola decides that she will double under the name of Cesario. Doubling in Shakespeare
s time was very common, especially girls being disguised as boys. This allowed for one actor to
play many parts, and since there were no girl actors in Shakespearian time, many men played girls
who disguised themselves as men. This allowed for a sense of comedy to overshadow the play. The

How Did Athens Treat Athenian Women
Throughout culture, women have gone through various types of adversity as well as treatment.
Some cultures, such as Persia, treated women with great respect and gave them social as well as
legal freedom. Although they were treated less than men, they were given much more respect in
comparison to many other cultures. In Athens, women and slaves were somewhat held to the
same standard. Citizenship was limited to males (Crash Course) in Greece, so slaves and women
were not given much respect and did not have very many legal rights. They were not allowed to
vote, take part in politics, or even watch the Olympics (which was partly because the participants of
the Olympics did not wear clothes). In addition, women s actions were limited when in... Show

This is proved in The Economist when Socrates says And when you married her she was quite
young, a mere girl at an age when, as far as seeing and hearing go, she had the smallest
acquaintance with the outer world? More often than not, the men that they were arranged to
marry were well into their 30 s. Typically, the girls did not know or meet their husband until the
wedding. Also, Athenians placed great importance on virginity, so they would perform a
ceremony called a betrothal where witnesses would confirm the virginity of the girl. An
additional celebration called a gamos was held in order for the father to give his daughter away
to her new husband. Before the celebration, the bride was washed and dressed by female
relatives. The bride would wear a white dress (similar to now), a crown, and would carry a
pomegranate or another fruit that had many seeds inside. The bride carried a pomegranate because
it was supposed to symbolize fertility. The day following the ceremony, both families would have
a celebration that is similar to a reception nowadays. One major difference between then and now
is that the groom would pretend to kidnap his bride and carry her across the threshold of their
house. Even though she was introduced to their new household after the wedding, she would not

Assimilation, Amalgamation, And Accommodation
With over seventy five million immigrants coming into the United States since it first became a
nation, several theories have resulted. This chapter looks at assimilation, amalgamation, and
accommodation. The values of the dominant culture includes how those in America should look,
speak, and act. However, when these standards are not met by the immigrants it becomes difficult
for them to fit in comfortably. On the other hand, diversity allows for greater possibilities and
unexpected relationships to form. First, assimilation is discussed as immigrants forming within the
dominant groups, without any differences being seen. The minority conforms to the standards of
society and leaves behind their cultural and social differences. Therefore, when it comes to physical
appearance, it does not bother the dominant group because all other aspects of them already
conformed. Throughout the eighteenth century, the English decent played a tremendous role in the
developing this newly discovered nation s culture. Although people tried to get away from this
English culture during the nineteenth century, it shortly returned and the Angelo Saxon heritage
became the standard for minorities. To persevere this standard, schools were the main influence in
getting rid of cultural differences among individuals. Cultural assimilation, as explained by Milton
Gordon is one important phase of assimilation. This is where cultural patterns of the minorities
change to mirror those of the dominant

Essay on To Be of Use by Marge Piercy
Marge Piercy s poem To Be of Use expresses an opposing connotation about the idea of work.
Most people believe the words hard work carry a negative connotation. What these words imply is
not something that is generally received with enthusiasm but is often accepted either by force or
obligation. The poem s central theme is that satisfaction and self fulfillment can be attained by
using one s skills to serve a specific function in life, for it is the opinion of the speakerthat an
unproductive existence has no value or significance because it is vain, and pointless. Piercy uses
figurative language, imagery, description, symbolism, and details to develop this theme throughout
the poem. The narrator begins developing the theme in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

what makes these people so honorable is that they are ready and willing to become the ox ; they

whom he respects pull like water buffalo, with massive patience (9). Here Piercy s figure of
speech makes the speaker convey the idea that although they are heavy laden, they remain
dedicated and devoted to their aims. When the narrator describes that they Strain in the mud and

and unfavorable conditions that the speaker s favored people often have to contend with while
working. Despite such discomfort and inconvenience, effort and determination, they persist and
accomplish their goals. In addition, the speaker tells that he venerates people who do what has to
be done, again and again (11). The repetition of the word again is a detail that puts emphasis on
the traits of reliability and dependability that characterize the responsible attitude that the people
the speaker admires take toward hard labor. Hence, in the first two stanzas, the narrator paints a

The Ratio Of A Hedge Funds
We will extend our findings about undercapitalization in Table 4 based on our conclusions from
Table 3. From Table 3, we know that there are 222 undercapitalized live hedge funds, and it
consists only 8.1% of all the live funds. From this we can reach the conclusion that only a small
fraction of live hedge funds are undercapitalized. Most of the live hedge funds (about 91.9%) can
stay out of the risk of being undercapitalized. While the undercapitalized ratio for dead funds is
12.3%, so more dead funds are undercapitalized compared with the ratio of live funds. Since the
ratio of undercapitalization plays an important role in determining the performance of a hedge fund,
we will take a further look into the details of undercapitalization in Table 4. We list a number of
variables that would usually have influence on the cap ratio. By comparing the different variable
values under the category of adequately capitalized funds and under capitalized funds, we can
determine the key elements that would usually influence the cap ratio of a hedge fund. Table 4
also illustrates the comparative characteristics between live and dead hedge funds. We can specify
the characteristics in the following points. First, the mean of the net asset for the undercapitalized
live funds is $88.4 million and the corresponding value for the capitalized funds is $206.1 million.
The huge difference between these two values means a positive condition in the capital adequacy
of the live funds. More live hedge

Thomas Paine s Common Sense
Thomas Paine s Common Sense, on the surface, is a call for the dissolution of British monarchial
hold on American society. Upon closer inspection of his rhetoric, historical references, and his
concept of independence, his audience witnesses more than just an incitement to revolution. Paine
is redeveloping the American concept of rights and, thus, redefining its roots. By eliminating
British ties in this pamphlet, he creates a rights foundation that relies on discourse and national
institutions. Common Sense opens with a statement asserting the purpose of government which is
to exist in opposition to society s tendency to fall to corruption through the vices of individuals.
Whereas society gives into pleasures, government acts as a set of regulations to ensure the well
being of all (Paine 74). This government, which comes from the people and serves the people, must
fill the role that moral virtue cannot. According to Paine, this is precisely where England s
constitution proves to be lacking. The English constitution depends on the moral proclivity of one
individual, and this leaves the well being of inhabitants in jeopardy. Paine abhors the concept or
belief in moral authority flowing down from and passing down from a king and his progeny (Paine
84). Contesting the established American governmental dependence on the British, Thomas Paine
exclaimed that the rights of man cannot be allowed to be dependent upon the mercy of a king, a
single man. Therefore, where does the

Analysis/conclusions
In conclusion, the charge/roman numeral on copper in copper sulfate is 2+. The percent
composition of copper in copper (I) sulfate was 40.58% and in copper (II) sulfate it was 25.46%.
Later, I calculated that the percent of copper in the lab was 26.13%. This percent shows that copper
(II) sulfate was used in this experiment because 26.13% was closer to 25.46% than 40.58%. If iron
(II) sulfate and copper metal is the product of copper (?) sulfate and iron metal, then copper (?)
sulfate has a charge of 2+. The mass of dry filter paper (1.18 g), the mass of copper sulfate (3.10 g),

I think that my group could have done something wrong or different during the experiment. The
only source of error is not putting all the copper sulfate in the water and this could have a high
but low effect. It could have changed the results by a lot or a little because the putting less than
was called for made the mass smaller than it is. The percent error is 34.14%.
One question that the experiment generate was how did a chemical reaction take place? I did not
understand how the metals and compounds used in this lab could make a chemical reaction like
color change. One thing that I understand is that my group could have done better. If I had the
opportunity to repeat the experiment, I would follow the procedure more thoroughly, measure the
mass of the materials more precisely, and actually pour all the materials into the right places. If I
do these things right, then the results will be closer to the actual results than what I got during my

Value innovation can be achieved by implementing a focus on innovation and creation of new
market possibilities (Value Innovation, 2015). Kim and Mauborgne explains how innovative
companies beat their competitors by creating products or services for which there aren t any
present. With value innovation it doesn t mean that a company develops or creates new goods
or services. The goal of value innovation is to create new demands in efforts to change the market
as well as make competitors irrelevant. Value innovation can improve existing services as well as
lower the cost for the company and their customers. The Blue Ocean Strategy is a strategy that
companies use as an opportunity for quick profitable growth. It focuses on those markets within
the same industry that have not been in existence; therefore, competition is not an issue. The Blue
Ocean Strategy is different from the traditional strategy in that the traditional strategy focuses on
value and cost as a trade; however, for Blue Ocean Strategy, companies pursue the expansion of a

delicate balance. This novel of literary merit is filled with wonder. It has an aspect of purity that
shows off a fresh look at our human traits, about religious topics, zoos and the wild, and the
possibility of freedom. One thing that stood out about this novel is the way it perfectly blends
religion and science, and then puts the two to the ultimate test in a treacherous survival situation.

Pi finds that his wild narrative is not believed by the officials sent to interview him, and he
knows why: You want a story that won t surprise you. That will confirm what you already know.
That won t make you see higher or further or differently. That s when Pi tells an alternate version
of his story. He retells the shipwreck, his survival, and his 227 days at sea without the animals.
In their place, he puts himself, a Taiwanese sailor, his mother, and a cook. The story is terrible
and horrific, one that could have scarred anyone for the remainder of their life. Now, it is up to the
reader to decide which story to believe: the better story told in the majority of the novel, with the
animals, or the story with survivors from the

The Scavengers Narrative
Clint slumped onto the couch. Breathing a heavy sigh, he closed his eyes for a moment. With
the children all asleep, a peaceful silence hung in the air. Even the sounds of the dripping tap he
needed to repair seemed to cease for this one evening, giving him almost complete quiet. But it
never took long for the silence to transition from peaceful to strange and uncomfortable. As
exhausted as he was, and as much as he enjoyed the peace, it made him restless. Blindly, Clint
reached out and attempted to grab the television remote off the coffee table, without opening his
eyes or shifting his body. So, you can save the world from aliens and killer robots, but grabbing
the remote is such a dreadful struggle, joked Laura, as she picked up the... Show more content on

She tossed and turned, trying to find a comfortable position so she could drift off and forget
momentarily about the day s events. Giving up, reached across to her bedside table and grabbed
her laptop. Usually, Wanda would have used her powers to grab items she needed, but now she
was hesitant. I can t risk it, she thought. I can risk damaging anything, or anyone else. She pulled
herself up into a sitting position and switched on the laptop, the sudden brightness of the screen
causing her to squint. A notification flashed across the screen, informing her of an incoming
video message through the Avengers private communication system from an unidentified caller.
Knowing exactly who it would, she smiled and immediately clicked to answer the call. Clint s
face appeared on the screen within seconds. He appeared to be sitting on the couch in his dimly
lit living room. Hey Wanda, he greeted her with a smile. I didn t wake you, did I? No, don t
worry, she said, leaning over to switch on her lamp so Clint could actually see her face. I doubt I

of the call. So, I... uh... I saw the news, he began, evidently unsure of what to say

Being Selfless
American Guru is a reality show where two final contestants will go against each other to find the
most divine. To determine the winner, we will have to take a close look into which important
lessons each figure has to teach mainstream U.S. society. After much consideration, this year s top
two final contestants are Krishna and Rama. As a judge, I will pay attention to our course texts for
Hinduism to determine who is more divine and has more important lesson to teach. For Krishna, I
will pay attention to the short play of John Stratton Hawley The Butter Thief of Swami Ramsvarup
and from the textbook World Religions in Dialogue: A Comparative Theological Approach. For
Rama, I will consider R.K. Narayan s, The Ramayana: A ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

So our winner of this show should be someone who can show the mainstream U.S. society the
positives of dharma.
In The Ramayana, Rama follows his dharma of being a son and teaches selflessness when he
obeys his parents to sacrifice the crown of the king and the decision of being exiled. Initially,
Rama s father Dasaratha wanted to crown Rama as the king of his kingdom (Narayan 34). After
Rama s stepmother, Kaikeyi, finds out she is angry that her husband chose Rama over her son
Bharatha (Narayan 41). She decides to take advantage of Dasaratha and forces him to let
Bharatha become the king and have Rama exiled to the forest for fourteen years (Narayan 43).
This is when we can see the selflessness in Rama and how important his dharma is to him. When
told of this decision, Rama felt no hesitation to obey his father and step mother. In Narayan s
novel, Rama states, I will carry out his wishes without question. Mother, be assured that I will not
shirk. I have no interest in kingship, . . . and no aversion to a forest existence (45). Rama has no
problem with not being crowned and getting exiled because that is what his parents want. Along
with that, he has no problem going away from his family to live in a forest. As their son, his
dharma is to respect his parents decision without any questioning. Rama teaches mainstream U.S.
society to be more concerned with the needs and wishes of others, especially parents. Parents will

Define Social Deviance
Deviance is by definition the fact or state of departing from usual or accepted standards,
especially in social or sexual behavior. Social deviance is a very extensive term, which describes
actions or behaviors that violate social norms. Norms are just rules by which members of any
society are expected to uphold. Social deviance has many forms and interpretations. However,
deviant acts can vary in different places thus they are primarily relative to setting, because what
could be considered deviant in one place could be considered normal in another place.
For example, a few days ago I went to a family s party in which we are all Hispanics. Females
know that this is a very important day so they can express how they are in the way they

Elizabeth Barrett Browning s Love
Elizabeth s Love
What is Love? Love can be described as an intense emotional feeling with the ability to change
the life of the giver and the recipient of this profound emotion. Love can be described as a verb or
action. Love can be experienced in varying levels of intensity. Elizabeth Barrett Browning credits
her love for her husband as the power that headed her emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
EEB began writing at the age of twelve, but two years later, she was confined to her home due to
a chronic illness and spinal injury. Her secret relationship with Robert Browning sparked a new
motivation for life in EEB. Her love for Robert greatly influenced her budding career as a poet. Her
health and desire to live ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the first four lines, the words used to describe love are uniquely expressing powerful emotions
with no limits. Depth, breadth, and height, are 3D terms of measurements used to measure love
with completeness. These words were used to describe feelings of great magnitude; reaching
deep within, far above, and beyond the soul. The boundless limits of her love are not contained
in earthly realms, but go beyond to the outer universe. Depth, breadth, and height, are also
biblical terms used to convey the unconditional love of God. EBB makes reference to her
religion by comparing her love to the greatest love of all, the love of God. The implication of both a
physical attraction and a spiritual love, while professing as long as there is life, this perfect love
will exist.
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I love thee to the depth and breadth and height My
soul can reach, when feeling out of sight For the ends of Being and ideal Grace. In the next four
lines demonstrates the powerful effect love and an inability to control it. EEB is aware of these
feelings every second, minute, hour, of every day and night. Her love for Robert has consumed her
thoughts. She boldly confesses to love Robert completely regardless of the influence or

Prelude and The Wasteland by T.S. Elliot
In our daily lives, we are too busy to do the things that we always want to do. So, we live lives of
boring repetition. However, we have become adjusted to it so almost none of us complain. T.S.
Eliot was born in St. Louis, Missouri and eventually moved to London, England. Extremely well
educated, Eliot wrote many highly praised poems. For example, The Waste Landwas assembled out
of dramatic vignettes based on Eliot s London life. Another poem, Preludes, talks about the daily
lives of people where it starts off simple, but leads into something deeper than everyday life.
Three reasons why I relate to Preludes by T.S. Eliot are evenings, mornings, and spiritually. In
Preludes by T.S Eliot, a city is being described by all the things that happen in the evening. The
smell of steaks is everywhere. When this poem was composed, steaks were inexpensive and
were commonly eaten by members of the lower class. I can relate to this part of the poem
because my family cooks steaks and my town calms down in the way that the city being described
does. The poem then goes on to describe how a gusty shower wraps the grimy scraps of withered
leaves about your feet and newspapers from vacant lots. The streetsare gross and unattractive and
the street lights flicker on and off. Parts of Worland have grimy looking streets and houses like this
city does. A lonely cab horse chugs along the darkened streets. I believe that part of the poem is
telling us that life is empty at night and everything

The Controversy Of Laramie, Wyoming
Laramie, Wyoming is known as a mostly conservative, republican party majority, which is why
there were no hate crime laws that had to deal with sexual orientation or gender identity.
Republicans typically were Christians meaning they were against homosexuality and believed it
was very wrong. The Laramie officials did not pass any law for about ten years, which showed the
Laramie community that their own government did not approve of homosexuals. The government
in Laramie is a major influence on a citizen s political opinion and how they feel on certain topics
like homosexuality. If the government does not show approval, how will the citizens of Laramie
gain a major acceptance towards homosexuals? Even the governor of Wyoming did not... Show

This bill was called Resolution Seventeen, a bill defining marriage in Wyoming as being
exclusively between a man and woman (Kaufman 163). Connolly passionately fought against such
a piece of legislation arguing homosexuals should be able to be able to marry as well. This did not
go as well since the Laramie legislation consisted of mainly conservative republicans refusing to
allow anything, but the traditional style of marriage. Republicans argue,
since the beginning of civilization, in every known society, governments have recognized a
marriage between a man and a woman because it provides the next generation outstanding citizens
and is the only means of melding two sexes into a stronger and more complete whole (Kaufman
164).
This political party is very strict to their views and use history to show how a traditional marriage
is the only logical way to continue a working society. Republican believe since homosexuals are
unable to reproduce, they are unwilling to have a functional family, which is why they do not agree
with same sex marriage. Since the republicans did not pass this bill same sex marriage is still
currently today illegal in Wyoming. By not passing this bill in Laramie this shows that there is still
ignorance throughout both the town of Laramie, the state of Wyoming, and the country of the
United States of America. This ignorance will continue to roam throughout Laramie until change
happens fully accepting all homosexuals as equal members of the

Cathryn Hunter Child Abuse
Finding out that the mother of your two year old boy have been stabbed your child to death
what is the protocol of this horrendous event? Well of course to divorce her, but to find
information on how to prevent this fatal form of abuse. There are many victims of abuse no
matter what age they are it s a terrible act, but children will remember throughout their life. The
bad nights of the child constantly remembering their perpetrator and the action they took upon
them. To have it be someone near to you being affected by this is heartbreaking, all of the pain
they have to embrace. I argue that people should be educated on the negative effects that a child
can be at stake when he or she is faced with abuse.
In the article that I examine Effects of Child Abuse and Neglect for Children and Adolescents the
author Cathryn Hunter elaborates on all the wide range problems due to the effects of child abuse

An explosion rocked the town, widows shattered and cars alarms wailed, A line of twenty Abram

Descriptive Essay About Summer Camp
Many Canadian children look forward to one thing all year: camp. Whether they spend the summer
in the Canadian wilderness, or at one of the many camps located in their city, summer camp is a
staple memory for many. Camp is where lifelong memories and friendships are made, where kids
get to return to school and tell their friends about the canoe trip they went on, the cool painting they
made, or their funny counsellors. Summer campis the experience that influences, and changes, many
lives.
I went to summer camp from the time I was 5 to the time I was 15. I always went to day camps,
ranging from camps based on school campuses, to sewing camp, to cooking camp. Even though I
was lucky enough as a child to experience many different summer camps, my six years at Bayview
Glen Day Camp will always be my favourite. I loved that each unit only had kids my age, and that
they were names after fun, exotic animals.
Bayview Glen was the camp I went to for the longest. It appealed to my parents because of the
door to door pick up on school busses, each with an individual name based off a food. At the age
of 5, my parents put me on one of the many school buses, and off I went to be one of BVG s
newest Hippo campers. My mom, although incredibly trusting of the two teenagers she stuck me
on a bus with, was nervous. Would I have fun? Would I be safe? Would I miss her? Did peanut
free really mean peanut free? As it turns out, the only one who did any crying that day was her. I
came home from camp so excited that I would get to return to the busy scene of the luscious green
field we met on every morning.
Fast forward through my years as a camper in the Lynx unit, as a camper in the Cheetah unit, as
a camper in the Jaguar unit, and as a camper in the Tiger unit, where each summer was full of fun,
and where each summer ended in many tears and lots of hope for the next. When I was little, all I
wanted to do was work at camp.
I walked into the camp on the first day of pre camp, not knowing anyone else out of the 500 staff.
After quietly sitting for a short time, I started talking to the people I sat between, discovering all
three of us were first time staff. The three of us sat there, representing the Panda, Jaguar, and Tiger

Everyday Use By Alice Walker Analysis
There is something oddly familiar and comforting in the short story Everyday Use by Alice
Walker. Perhaps it is the sweet drawl of southern charm that holds readers attention or maybe it
is the way Walker redefines an insecure character, and transforms them into a character whose
inner persona mirrors that of their own outer strength; nothing reads truer than the character of
Mama. Mama describes herself as a bigger woman, who wears overalls, has calloused hands, and
is not afraid to get them dirty. Mama is hardy and unwavering, she is the very essence of a hard
worker. Mama takes pride in the fact that she can work just as hard as any man and still managed
to raise two daughters. Mama even brags about her masculine strengths and accomplishments
when she disclosed, I can work outside all day, breaking ice to get water for washing; I can eat
pork liver cooked over the open fire minutes after it comes steaming from the hog. One winter I
knocked a bull calf straight in the brain between the eyes with a sledge hammer and had the meat
hung up to chill before nightfall (Walker). Mama has the physical attributes even a man would be
envious of. However, despite all Mamas physical strengths she has never had the courage to hold
her own; not even with her daughter. From the very beginning Mama showed her insecurities and
passive tone as she tried relentlessly to sweep away debris from the yard in an effort to please her
oldest daughter Dee. Mamma even fantasize

  • 2. The Importance Of The Female Egg For Reproduction Abstract From Aristotle and Plato studying animals. To 1653 William Harvey discovering the importance of the female egg for reproduction. Anton Van Leeuwenhoek in 1678 used the microscope to identify sperm as a seed. Elizabeth Osgood Goodrich Willard came up with the term sexology and opened to the research to understand sex in a whole new level. In this paper we will learn about a couple different sexologist and how they did the research on sex. Keywords: Havelock Ellis, Kurt Freund, Richard von Krafft Ebing, Masters Johnson 1897 Havelock Ellis reflected his view of gays and lesbians as having an inside out, or inverted pattern of erotic attraction. Ellis had a desire to investigate the nature of sex. He needed to have a physiological understanding of humanity before he turned his attention to the psychology. Ellis was determined then to become a physician. Despite his training Ellis never made the practice of his medical training central to his professional life (Bering, 2013). One of this sexologist s most important contributions was his clarifying that homosexuality is a psychological orientation, not simply a random sex act or behavior involving the same sex. He didn t personally believe that gay and lesbians were perverts, but he used this term to convey how religious moralist wrongly saw homosexuals and other deviants as deliberately going against what is right, since for hundreds of years before it ever connoted anything sexual, pervert was an epithet ... • 3. Le Cordon Bleu By Julia Child Summary Written by Julia Child, the article Le Cordon Bleu opens up a world of cooking to her readers. In order to fulfill her dreams, Child enrolled in a class at le Cordon Bleu, and from then on, Child learned the basics of cuisine with classmates and Chef Bugnard. During class, demonstrations were held by Child s favorite instructors named Pierre Mangelatte and Claude Thilmont, who both impacted Child as a chef. Meanwhile, Child was growing into a promising cook; but now in the light of her final examination, she had to prepare very diligently. After obtaining an exam, Child started her test: except she had forgotten what the assigned dish was! Unfortunately, she promptly failed to earn her diploma. Buried in shame, Child reflects that it was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Despite Child s defeat at Le Cordon Bleu, she became one of the most famous cooks in American history. Clearly, excessive schooling is not needed to become successful in cooking. This revelation is also seen in Lisa Suhay s article, What was the recipe for Le Cordon Bleu s US school closings? , when she states, [I believe] that formal education is not what [chefs] look for in [their] culinary staff. (Suhay 1). Although many job recruiters look for experience when looking for jobs, certain jobs like cooking value more talent than what is in the resume. Consequently, this change in hiring is fueling the new generation, the millennials. Additionally, many people have become successful without higher schooling for their profession, for example; Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, and Ina Garten. Evidently, the talent based success of other celebrities shows that for certain fields, passion is worth more than the rising price for a diploma. Understanding the need for certain professions and knowing what they are looking for in an employee has the potential to save the stress and money for college and help take an individual to their dream job sooner and more efficiently. Clearly, this belief was not founded nor liked in the early twentieth century. For Child, although the staggering financial cost of schooling was a problem, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Relationships In Disney s Snow White And The Seven... Relationships changing in Disney In this essay I am going to compare and contrast the evolution of relationship expectations portrayed in Disney s Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, and Frozen, and how closely they mesh with relationship expectations of their time. The movies Snow White and Frozen seemed like good examples because they have a lot of similarities as well as differences. In both Disney movies the princess meets a man, but the expectations and interactions between princess and man are vastly different. They both also have other people in their lives. Snow has the dwarves and Ana has her sister. Their treatment of them are also vastly different. The men they fall for while similar in some ways, seem to have different requirements, and different roles for the princess. In Snow White the Snow and the prince meet, share one song, a kiss and are married. Terri Wright, who wrote an article on Disney s choice of adapting Snow White talks about how, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs reflects popular culture of the time through its development of the romantic element (3). When Snow White came out love was wanted in a relationships but it was not the only factor. Woman did not work outside the home and didn t move out of their parents house unless they got married. This is portrayed in the movie with Snow White staying at home to cook and clean up after the dwarves until the prince comes to take her away. In Frozen the main princess does have a similar instance of a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Analysis Of Wembley Stadium Project Management A project is a temporary endeavour that creates a unique result. Time, budget, resources, and performance specifications, to meet requirements made by stakeholders, limit a project (Project Management Institute, 2013, pg.3). Project management is the application of tools, techniques, and knowledge to help achieve the three main constraints of scope, cost and time (Project Management Institute, 2013, pg.5). This applies managerial process and gives project managers the opportunity to make a project successful. However, there are still numbers of project failures both big and small projects. This failure does not only affect finances but also demoralizes employees who have laboured diligently to complete the work. The case of Wembley Stadium project failure will be analyzed in this paper to illustrate project management difficulties a project can encounter if appropriate tools and techniques are not successfully developed, implemented, and evaluated within the project management processes. The major problems concerning the Wembley Stadium project were scope, time, cost, quality, and stakeholder issues (Carter, 2002). However, this paper would be focusing on scope, time and cost issues. The format of this paper will include the project analysis, which will provide brief description of the Wembley stadium project, and main reasons why the project failed. This will be followed by the analysis of how the issue of the project failure is related to project management knowledge ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Kingsglaive Final Fantasy XV Movies, a collection of scenes put together to create a coherent story, also a way for people to express their fantasies and creativities. But from the perspective of us viewers, movies are a shape of entertainment that we use. Personally any type of entertainment movies, games, and so on must have this important element in itself. It is the story. Is the story intriguing? Engaging? Interesting? These elements are important in a movie. Today I am going to give my opinions on Kingsglaive Final Fantasy XV beginning with summary of the story, the things that I liked, and the things that this movie lacked. The story is told from the perspective of Nyx Ulric, while the story itself is rather simple, an advanced nation of technology called the Empire of Niflheim are invading every country that existed in the world of Eos. The empire wanted to rule every land that ever... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What this movie lacks is the simplicity, the story tried to tell too many thing in the movie resulting in confusion to the common people who watched the movie without any prior knowledge to the world of Final Fantasy XV. The screen time for the supporting character feels so small that we can t feel connection to the characters that died. The motivation weren t well written either because we can feel the lack of reason to why this character does what he does. For the conclusion, Kingsglaive Final Fantasy XV, is a visually stunning CG movie with tons of effect and superhuman ability concept that is a very interesting style of movie. But it severely lacks in the coherent story, the motivation, and fail to create a connection to the characters because of their lack of screen time, and motivation, overall this is a great ... Haute couture, French for high fashion, was no exception to these newly made changes. Coco Chanel born as Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel was an artist of clothing and of beauty. Chanels early life was not as pleasing as she made it known to be. Chanel lied about her childhood experiences in order to avoid social prejudice that accompanied the situations in her upbringing. • 11. Deborah Penimpede What Is A Comuter Student Summary Coherence and emphasis in an essay are almost as important as the content is. Without coherence and emphasis, the reader will simply lose interest in the essay or they will be unable to follow what the author is trying to share. However, the author must be considerate about when and how coherence and emphasis are created. In the essay, What is a Commuter Student? by Deborah Pennimpede, the author advantageously employs strategies of coherence and emphasis throughout, with her transitional words and phrases, the organization of the essay, and her choice of sentence types. The coherence in the essay What is a Commuter Student? is like peanut butterbetween two pieces of bread it holds the essay together, while at the same time makes it easy to digest. The author achieves coherence through her transitional phrases, her connection between the first and last sentences of the paragraphs, and her connection between her introduction and concluding paragraphs. First, Deborah Pennimpede creates coherence through her transitional phrases in her paragraphs. One impressive choice of a transition phrase that the author employs is, And even if commuters do find the time to be home for supper, they often find it far from quiet when they try to study. This is a superb example because it is tying the previous part of the paragraph into the next from not being home because of a job to being home, but not having peace and quiet to study. • 12. Essay On Intestinal First Pass Metabolism 6. Conclusions: Drug absorption and metabolism are very complicated processes that involve many physiological and physicochemical factors. Adequate information about the processes determining the oral F of a drug is essential for a successful drug development process. In the recent years, our knowledge about the expression of drug metabolizing enzymes in the intestinal wall has expanded. In addition, the availability of in vitro and in vivo data has clearly demonstrated the significant contribution of intestinal metabolism in mediating the extent of first pass elimination and DDIs. PBPK models provide an effective and reliable tool to evaluate the role of intestinal first pass metabolism in the prediction of potential DDIs. The use and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Moreover, although in vivo studies of human intestinal drug metabolism could provide very informative data, these studies are very difficult to conduct due to several technical and ethical challenges. Thus, the availability of a reliable tool that can scale data from the in vitro setting to in vivo in humans by integrating IVIV extrapolation (IVIVE) to the appropriate human in vivo system using algorithms and physiologically relevant scaling factors might help overcome this drawback. PBPK modeling offers the solution to bridge the gap between in vitro and in vivo systems. PBPK modeling takes into consideration the interaction of drug related factors with physiological factors, which enables the prediction of plasma and tissue concentration versus time profiles and explains several mechanisms (such as first pass metabolism) in an in vivo system. The main advantages of PBPK models over other models are: (1) they account for substrate concentrations at the enzyme site, Michaelis Menten constants, and potential saturation of metabolism and (2) they accommodate any potential regional differences in intestinal availability because of the heterogeneous expression of drug metabolizing enzymes along the small intestine. Therefore, PBPK modeling has become a cornerstone tool in the pharmaceutical industry because it has the ability to translate all relevant generated data during ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Bringing Back The Big Guns Shelby Hornaday Block 1 Bringing Back the Big Guns A Star Wars: The Force Awakens Analysis It s true the Force, the Jedi, all of it. It s all true (Harrison Ford, The Force Awakens). The new Star Wars flick The Force Awakens burst onto the big screen with enormous critical and monetary success this past winter, and it seems that the franchise has truly been revived from the overall upsets of the prequels back to its epic roots in pop culture. These three concepts, according to Freud, make up the human psyche and provide some insight and understanding into how the human mind works. These so called systems in the brain are in no way physical but together, they make up a whole and contribute towards an individual s behavior. The id is described as the primitive component of one s personality as it consists of everything biologically inherited at birth. This includes one s instincts and sexual desires. The id can be described as being impulsive and contains all of the drives and hidden urges of an individual. Repressed memories in the unconscious mind resides in the id. Freud believed that the id, ego and superego developed at different stages in an individual s life. A newborn child is all id, as it does not have the morals and social influences that come with the ego and superego. The ego, unlike the id, is partly conscious and partly unconscious. It serves as the intermediary between the id and the superego as it makes decisions based on reason, instead of unrealistically and logically (as the id would) or based on morality and societal influences (as the superego would). The ego would create the realistic ways to fulfill the id s demands that are impulsive and with little regard to any consequences. Doubling is the act of having a character pretend to be another character by using a disguise or by trickery. Although there are not a lot of instances of doubling in Twelfth Night, it is still considered to be one of the main literary devices that make this play a comedy. Shakespeare manipulates the story line and its characters by using disguises and trickery. The main plot of this story revolves around disguise. Viola, the main character, disguises herself as Cesario. She decides to disguise herself in order to gain entrance into the Duke Orsino s house. • 31. Assimilation, Amalgamation, And Accommodation With over seventy five million immigrants coming into the United States since it first became a nation, several theories have resulted. This chapter looks at assimilation, amalgamation, and accommodation. The values of the dominant culture includes how those in America should look, speak, and act. However, when these standards are not met by the immigrants it becomes difficult for them to fit in comfortably. On the other hand, diversity allows for greater possibilities and unexpected relationships to form. First, assimilation is discussed as immigrants forming within the dominant groups, without any differences being seen. The minority conforms to the standards of society and leaves behind their cultural and social differences. Therefore, when it comes to physical appearance, it does not bother the dominant group because all other aspects of them already conformed. Throughout the eighteenth century, the English decent played a tremendous role in the developing this newly discovered nation s culture. Although people tried to get away from this English culture during the nineteenth century, it shortly returned and the Angelo Saxon heritage became the standard for minorities. To persevere this standard, schools were the main influence in getting rid of cultural differences among individuals. • 35. The Ratio Of A Hedge Funds We will extend our findings about undercapitalization in Table 4 based on our conclusions from Table 3. From Table 3, we know that there are 222 undercapitalized live hedge funds, and it consists only 8.1% of all the live funds. From this we can reach the conclusion that only a small fraction of live hedge funds are undercapitalized. Most of the live hedge funds (about 91.9%) can stay out of the risk of being undercapitalized. While the undercapitalized ratio for dead funds is 12.3%, so more dead funds are undercapitalized compared with the ratio of live funds. Since the ratio of undercapitalization plays an important role in determining the performance of a hedge fund, we will take a further look into the details of undercapitalization in Table 4. We list a number of variables that would usually have influence on the cap ratio. By comparing the different variable values under the category of adequately capitalized funds and under capitalized funds, we can determine the key elements that would usually influence the cap ratio of a hedge fund. Table 4 also illustrates the comparative characteristics between live and dead hedge funds. We can specify the characteristics in the following points. First, the mean of the net asset for the undercapitalized live funds is $88.4 million and the corresponding value for the capitalized funds is $206.1 million. The huge difference between these two values means a positive condition in the capital adequacy of the live funds. More live hedge ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Thomas Paine s Common Sense Thomas Paine s Common Sense, on the surface, is a call for the dissolution of British monarchial hold on American society. Upon closer inspection of his rhetoric, historical references, and his concept of independence, his audience witnesses more than just an incitement to revolution. Paine is redeveloping the American concept of rights and, thus, redefining its roots. By eliminating British ties in this pamphlet, he creates a rights foundation that relies on discourse and national institutions. Common Sense opens with a statement asserting the purpose of government which is to exist in opposition to society s tendency to fall to corruption through the vices of individuals. Whereas society gives into pleasures, government acts as a set of regulations to ensure the well being of all (Paine 74). This government, which comes from the people and serves the people, must fill the role that moral virtue cannot. According to Paine, this is precisely where England s constitution proves to be lacking. The English constitution depends on the moral proclivity of one individual, and this leaves the well being of inhabitants in jeopardy. Paine abhors the concept or belief in moral authority flowing down from and passing down from a king and his progeny (Paine 84). Contesting the established American governmental dependence on the British, Thomas Paine exclaimed that the rights of man cannot be allowed to be dependent upon the mercy of a king, a single man. The percent composition of copper in copper (I) sulfate was 40.58% and in copper (II) sulfate it was 25.46%. Later, I calculated that the percent of copper in the lab was 26.13%. This percent shows that copper (II) sulfate was used in this experiment because 26.13% was closer to 25.46% than 40.58%. If iron (II) sulfate and copper metal is the product of copper (?) sulfate and iron metal, then copper (?) sulfate has a charge of 2+. One question that the experiment generate was how did a chemical reaction take place? I did not understand how the metals and compounds used in this lab could make a chemical reaction like color change. One thing that I understand is that my group could have done better. With value innovation it doesn t mean that a company develops or creates new goods or services. The goal of value innovation is to create new demands in efforts to change the market as well as make competitors irrelevant. Value innovation can improve existing services as well as lower the cost for the company and their customers. Extremely well educated, Eliot wrote many highly praised poems. For example, The Waste Landwas assembled out of dramatic vignettes based on Eliot s London life. Another poem, Preludes, talks about the daily lives of people where it starts off simple, but leads into something deeper than everyday life. Three reasons why I relate to Preludes by T.S. Eliot are evenings, mornings, and spiritually. In Preludes by T.S Eliot, a city is being described by all the things that happen in the evening. The smell of steaks is everywhere. When this poem was composed, steaks were inexpensive and were commonly eaten by members of the lower class. I can relate to this part of the poem because my family cooks steaks and my town calms down in the way that the city being described does. The poem then goes on to describe how a gusty shower wraps the grimy scraps of withered leaves about your feet and newspapers from vacant lots. The streetsare gross and unattractive and the street lights flicker on and off. Parts of Worland have grimy looking streets and houses like this city does. A lonely cab horse chugs along the darkened streets. I believe that part of the poem is telling us that life is empty at night and everything ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Whether they spend the summer in the Canadian wilderness, or at one of the many camps located in their city, summer camp is a staple memory for many. Camp is where lifelong memories and friendships are made, where kids get to return to school and tell their friends about the canoe trip they went on, the cool painting they made, or their funny counsellors. Summer campis the experience that influences, and changes, many lives. I went to summer camp from the time I was 5 to the time I was 15. I always went to day camps, ranging from camps based on school campuses, to sewing camp, to cooking camp. Even though I was lucky enough as a child to experience many different summer camps, my six years at Bayview Glen Day Camp will always be my favourite. I loved that each unit only had kids my age, and that they were names after fun, exotic animals. Bayview Glen was the camp I went to for the longest. It appealed to my parents because of the door to door pick up on school busses, each with an individual name based off a food. At the age of 5, my parents put me on one of the many school buses, and off I went to be one of BVG s newest Hippo campers. Mama takes pride in the fact that she can work just as hard as any man and still managed to raise two daughters. Mama even brags about her masculine strengths and accomplishments when she disclosed, I can work outside all day, breaking ice to get water for washing; I can eat pork liver cooked over the open fire minutes after it comes steaming from the hog. One winter I knocked a bull calf straight in the brain between the eyes with a sledge hammer and had the meat hung up to chill before nightfall (Walker). Mama has the physical attributes even a man would be envious of. However, despite all Mamas physical strengths she has never had the courage to hold her own; not even with her daughter. From the very beginning Mama showed her insecurities and passive tone as she tried relentlessly to sweep away debris from the yard in an effort to please her oldest daughter Dee. Mamma even fantasize ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
