How Do You Write An Essay About Yourself
Writing an essay about yourself can be a daunting task, as it requires a delicate balance between
self-expression and humility. The difficulty lies in finding the right words to showcase your
personality, experiences, and achievements without coming across as self-centered or boastful.
Crafting an essay that captivates the reader while remaining authentic can be challenging.
The challenge intensifies when you consider the need to strike a balance between highlighting
your strengths and acknowledging your weaknesses. It's a delicate dance between self-
assuredness and vulnerability, aiming to create a narrative that engages the reader without
sounding rehearsed or insincere. Unveiling your true self on paper can feel like navigating a
maze of self-reflection, introspection, and thoughtful expression.
Moreover, there's the constant pressure to stand out and make a memorable impression. It
requires a keen understanding of what makes you unique and how to convey that distinctiveness
effectively. However, there's always the risk of slipping into clichГ©s or generic statements,
making the writing process even more intricate.
Additionally, self-analysis can be a challenging aspect of writing about oneself. Unraveling
personal motivations, aspirations, and lessons learned requires a level of introspection that many
find uncomfortable. Revealing personal growth and experiences demands a certain level of
vulnerability, which can be both intimidating and emotionally taxing.
In conclusion, writing an essay about yourself is a multifaceted challenge that demands a delicate
balance of self-assurance, authenticity, and humility. It involves the art of self-expression,
requiring careful navigation through the complexities of personal reflection. While the process
can be difficult, the end goal is to create a compelling narrative that resonates with the reader.

Story and Truth in Edwin Blashfield s The Evolution of...
In 1894, construction neared completion on The Thomas Jefferson Building, the
oldest of the three buildings which comprise the Library of Congress in Washington
D.C.. With the exterior well in hand, the architects turned their attention to the
interior, commissioning extensive murals by well known artists. The commissioners
of these murals deliberately set out to personify the ideals of the [American] people
through the medium of government sponsored art, and provide a relatively young
nation with a story about themselves a visual literature which would connect them to
the distant past.1 Among the most famous of these murals is Edwin Blashfield s The

In spite of what painters, archeologists, or researchers of the nineteenth century
believed about the ancient world, cuneiform has since proven its historical mettle. As
displayed by Darius and his memorial at Bisitun, the early, crude cuneiform of 5000
B.C.E. adapted itself to culture after culture, and morphed into the dusty forerunner
of our modern alphabet. The Phoenicians, the original ancient mariners, are
responsible for transforming cuneiform into a more efficient writing system by paring
down the somewhat ungainly number of 5,000 cuneiform characters into 29
characters. Adopted around 1000 B.C.E., the Phoenician alphabet was not a
collection of pictographs like many early forms of writing, but instead a close
relative of many modern writing systems.11 The sophisticated navy and extensive
trade network of Phoenicia ensured that this new version of cuneiform would
quickly spread to its ancient neighbors. Phoenicia s alphabet would soon be adopted
by the Greeks, who also refined and perfected this writing system to meet their own
needs; likewise the Romans, eager inheritors of all things Greek, adopted the
alphabet for their own use. It could be said that the highly adaptive descendants of
cuneiform formed the basis for the literature of the Classical world. The Phoenician
cuneiform alphabet was also adopted by Jewish culture, providing a medium for
Hebrew narrative and progressive sense of history, another innovation

Filmmaking features can shape the viewer s attitude toward specific elements of a
film. Music, timing, camera features, setting and much more all influence the viewer

on the struggle between two different groups and fighting techniques within the two
sides. Each film takes a different approach to connect the viewer to the film. With

Film making decisions can very easily pull in a viewer to the themes and motives of
a plot. In The Battle of Algiers, the viewer does not get pulled into the battle. The
film lacks the interest of one side over another and without this choosing of a
protagonist verse an antagonist, the viewer cannot feel emotionally tied into the
battle. Also without being introduced to any characters, the viewer in unclear to who
is really being put at risk with each attack, who is gaining or losing what from the
attacks, and what is actually being gained or lost. The only influence on the attacks
that the viewer is aware of is that one side attacked another, so they must strike
back. The filmmaking decisions do not shape the viewers attitude toward any
character in this film. In Paradise Now and then, the viewer follows Said and
Khaled through their journey to supposedly the end of their lives. The viewer is
able to feel why the characters choose to go along with their mission, what is at
stake if the mission is attempted, and what will be gained and lost if the mission is
successful. Religion is a big factor that influences Said and Khaled to become
suicide bombers. Khaled asks, What happens after death? He gets an answer of

Independence Day Ideology
Independence Day is an interesting film that is full of cohesive visual political
and cultural meanings that represent the United States of America. Through its
major genres of war and disaster its able to attract all categories of audience and
bring out the true colours to the world that USA is composed off. This paper
through these two common cinematic genres will reveal an interesting set of
political ideologies that most Americans represent and pursue when approaching
the people and countries that live in this world. Politics plays a heavy role in the
lives of American people and is itself a well established subject and industry that
the country relies on for good functioning and staying a world leader. However,
there seem to be many problems with the ideology they follow which leads to ruin
of their infrastructure and the lives of people who live in other countries and those
problems can be discovered in the film Independence Day. One of the main problems
in the American political system that is shown with in the film when approaching a
complicated case is being unintelligent and aggressive at the same time. An example
of this political weakness is in the scene when the American military attacks the alien
battleship only to discover that their destructive weapons were neutralized by their
forcefield which eventually leads to death of their soldiers. From the very beginning
when they arrive the main government is able to know from the first look of their
ship that that
The Night By Elie Wiesel
In Night by Elie Wiesel, the author reflects on his own experience of being separated
from his family and eventually his own religion. This separation was not by any
means voluntary, they were forced apart during the Holocaust. Wiesel was a Jew
when the invasion of Hungary occurred and the Germans ripped members of his
religion away from their home in Sighet. A once peaceful community where Wiesel
learned to love the Kabbalah was now home to only dust and lost memories. Most
members of that Jewish community were never to return, hell greeted them with
open arms as they walked through the now rusty gates of Auschwitz. In order to
survive unimaginable circumstances that were enforced in these camps, a boy had to
hang on to his humanity. But by no means did humanity stay with the boy, being
subjected to the horror of concentration camps, Auschwitz and Buchenwald, Elie
Wieselsaw first hand how members of other communities attempt to silence
opposing voices. All of the pain that Wiesel saw inspired him to keep watch and
tell stories for people who wouldn t live on to tell them for their own families.
Stories are what keeps a person alive and through Eliezer s words that he puts down
many are able to get a sense of closure in knowing what occurred at these camps. One
story occurred on the first train ride away from home, a lady named Madame
Schächter was beaten up for crying out against imminent death, unseen by others.
She stayed like that all through the day, dumb, absent,
Kyoto Protocol Is An International Agreement
Introduction to the Kyoto Protocol
Kyoto Protocol is an international agreement which was announced in Kyoto, Japan
in 1997. It is considered as the supplement of the UNFCCC (United Nations
Framework Convention on Climate Change) and the main target for the Kyoto
protocol is to reduce the emissions of anthropogenic greenhouse gases. Nowadays,
there are 192 Parties that have signed and ratified the Kyoto Protocol and the overall
emission of these countries accounts for 61% of the total greenhouse gases emission
on world. The agreement was designed first to solve the issue on greenhouse gas
emission and it is one of the most well known environmental issue in public and
becomes worse and worse through time. Therefore, reducing greenhouse gas emission
today is necessary and crucial for the sustainability of the environment. One of the
most famous impact of greenhouse gas emission is the sea level increasing. As the
tremendous amount of greenhouse gas emissions in 21 century, it leads to the global
warming and thus the Earth s climate has warmed by approximately 0.6 Celsius
degree over the past 100 years. Increasing of sea level makes island countries such as
Maldives face the problem that the majority of its land area might be underwater by
the end of the century( Union of Concerned Scientists,2011).
The specific goal that the developed countries have to meet is to reduce the
greenhouse gas emission by around 5% below their 1990 levels from 2008 to 2012
and the amounts may
The Film Gattaca Is Genetic Discrimination
A theme in The film Gattaca is genetic discrimination. In the aseptic society Vincent
lives in , life is genetically restrained even before the individual is born so that each
person gets the best possible start . The sterile environment captures a strictly
controlled ambience favouring genetic perfection above anything else. It is a society
that overpowers human desire and human relationships. This becomes apparent
through the mechanical robotic characters that live in Gattaca. Traits such as
personality, beliefs, values and morals are useless. Identity in gattaca is seen in
solely defined by one s individual status as a valid or invalid. Other than this
nothing else is relevant. The starting scenes in the film sets an atmosphere of
controlled physical excellence. Vincent is shown shaving and exfoliating his
skin.Vincent gathers a stray hair d from his keyboard and the space director
acknowledges his admirable cleaning habits, To which Vincent believes is next to
godliness . There are extreme close ups of human matter used in Gattaca to show
how the environment in which Vincent lives emphasises the importance of DNA.
Those who are considered perfect among the society are often set back by a lack of
aspiration; this idea of perfection comes from one s individual values influenced by
a corrupt society.Vincent is considered a god child due to having no genetic
advantage from birth, Vincent is an alien concept to the genetically modified world.

The research paper aims to examine the combined value relevance of book value of
equity and net income before and after the mandatory transition from GAAP to IFRS
in Greece. The reason the authors, culture and socio economic context (Tsoulavatas et

tax oriented accounting standards to a shareholder oriented accounting standards.
Greece was chosen to verify the hypotheses in the research paper as the country
provides an example of the changes in the point of view of accounting standards from
debt and tax oriented accounting leads to conservatism and profit smoothing while
shareholder oriented accounting focus on more value relevant financial statements
but leads to greater volatility. Greece was a good example in showing the difference
of each phenomenon as the country was
Theory and Hypotheses:
There were two theories that the authors tested were:
a)Lower value relevance has been reported for debt oriented and tax influenced
accounting systems (Ali Hwang, 2000; King Langli, 1998)
b)Reporting quality would improve under IFRS as the adoption of the standards
listed above would reduce creative accounting practices and this would cause
significantly negative impact on shareholders equity. Polychroniadis(2002)
The first theory claims investors have a more difficult time comparing values in
financial statements under GAAP in debt oriented and tax influenced accounting

Essay about The Loch Ness monster
The Loch Ness monster Many times we have been in a dilemma whether to believe
or not someone who tries to persuade us for something and very often by listening
his arguments and by having enough evidence we finally manage to get out of the
dilemma. Nevertheless sometimes we cannot be sure about an event because
although there is enough evidence, our minds cannot be persuaded. An example to
justify that is the existence of the Loch Ness monster, or as it is widely known Nessie .
Nessie s story begins from the first century A.D, when Romans first went to Northern
Scotland and found carved, standing stones (which are still found in the region
around Loch Ness) that represented animals, which were all easily recognizable,
except one. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They described the beast as having a long neck followed a large body (see photograph
2) and they watched it until it left the road and entered the water.
Besides the Spicer sighting there was a plethora of sightings of Nessie. One of
those is the sighting of a motorcyclist, Mr. Grant, on the 4th of January 1934. It was
around one a.m. and was bright because of the moonlight when he saw a large
object on the right side of the road. As he approached the object he saw a small head
attached to a long neck. The animal must have seen Mr. Grant and went back to the
Loch.
Another event on the 5th of June 1935, which is considered to be of importance,
involved a young girl who worked as a maid in a large house close to a monastery.
It was around 6:30 a.m. and she was looking out of a window down the Loch. She
saw on the shore one of the biggest animals she had seen in her life at an extend of
about 200 yards. Her description was similar to those of the others: long neck, small
head, skin like an elephant and two very short fore legs or flippers . She watched for
about 20 minutes when it entered the water and disappeared.
Another eyewitness account happened in October 1955, by Colonel Patrick Grant
of Knockie estate. He saw near the bay a great commotion in the water between 100
200 yards from the road . He stopped his car and he

Romania entered the war in late 1916 on behalf of the Allies, renouncing
previously held Central alliances in order to gain Transylvania and meth, but their
presence yielded no major results. Russia, despite temporarily being rejuvenated by
Romania s entrance into the war, continued to crumble internally as animosity
towards the largely incompetent royal family grew, in large part due to Russia s
role in the war. In 1917, revolution overtook Russia, the monarchy being abolished
and multiple governments being established and subsequently toppled. The
Bolsheviks, led by Lenin, took power and upon German invasion of Ukraine
hesitantly agreed to the Treaty of Brest Litovsk, ceding vast swaths of land to the
Central Powers and destroying the Triple Entente. In the wake of Russia s abrupt
retreat from the war, another powerful military force joined the Allied Powers The
US joined World War Iin 1917 in an effort to halt Germans naval attacks, despite
nonexistent public support, providing support for British and French troops in
attacks yet to come. The Germans launched a massive offensive in the spring of
1918, dividing and conquering British and French troops in an effort to end the war
in victory before the US arrived. The German troops initially appeared victorious,
utilizing revolutionary battlefield tactics to regain large swaths of territory, but
ultimately they failed to hold this territory due in large part to a lack of supplies. The
Allies launched a counteroffensive strike in 1918 beginning in August of 1918,
quickly decimating German progress and sending them reeling. They waged quick
attacks on the Germans, withdrawing before a counterattack could be made,
continuously assaulting the Hindenburg line. German defeat was drawing near, and
with that fate in mind the German soldiers openly rebelled, refusing to participate in
any more suicidal defensives

After our marching band s performance at a football game was cancelled because of

The War of 1812 and the Mexican American War are two wars that physically

major land battles, while the Mexican American War involves numerous land battles
and few, if any, naval battles. However there are numerous similarities.
The War of 1812, The US saw Great Britain as a major problem because of their
definition of contraband and the impressment of American sailors into the British

Summary Of Comcast And Time Warner Cable
In Derek Thompson s article Prisoners of Cable (Thompson, 2012), Thompson
wrote why consumers in the US were the prisoners of the cable bundle. In this
essay, I will provide a brief analysis of the article written by Derek Thomson and
discuss about how the proposed merger of Comcast and Time Warner Cable and AT
T and Time Warnerapply. Thompson argued that while consumers wishes to purchase
the channel or even individual show sold as a la carte, it is not as simple as many
think in music industry (Thompson, 2012, para.3). In supporting arguments,
Thompson stated that TV subscribers, which accounts 83 percent of U.S. households,

Their statement to mitigate the concerns of market competitiveness is focused on
Cable s subscribers (Comcast, 2014). 4 firm concentration rate for the cable industry
in Table 5.1 in the textbook shows the competition level (Besanko et al., 2016, p.162).
In the assessment to quantify the impact of Comcast and Time Warner Cablemerger,
we need to look at the impact of the telecom infrastructure landscape and not the
cable subscribers impact because the media companies are expanding to cord
cutters that streams the contents over the Internet (Thompson, 2012). According to
a page that quantifies the impact of Comcast and Time Warner Cable merger, the
subscribers of truly high speed internet by the merger are near 50% (Freepress,
n.d.). Though the market share of the high speed internet is very high by the
merger, this is a monopolistic competition as there are could be many sellers and
those sellers can continue to differentiate. For example, high speed internet
connection via the cable technology can be replaced by the aerial high speed
internet connection provided by telecom companies like AT T, Verizon, T Mobile.
The aerial cellular based technology like LTE or 5G network which can provide
massive data rate and reduced network latency can be positioned
Flaws In Research Paper
Flaws in current grading policies prove that the use of the report card as a means of
measuring student achievement must be revised. Report cards are much too vague;
they do not allow parents and students to truly understand how a student is
performing. There is some idea of what is a good or bad grade, but what does it
mean? The amount of value given to these letters also promotes students to have an
unhealthy obsession with them. The only way to break free from these issues is to
implement a new grading system.
Report cards do not demonstrate why a student receives a certain grade. They merely

Germany is the leader in Europe in the coal industry with significant amounts of
coal operations, especially lignite. Germany has approximately 73,000 million short
tons of coal reserves with more than 47,000 and 25,000 million tons of lignite and
hard coal reserves respectively (Miller 25). Germany is the major lignite producer in
the whole of Europe with major lignite reserves found at Lusatian, Rhineland, central
German basins, which are all of tertiary age. Coalis a major source of energy used in
the generation of electricity and in the coking process. Apart from production
German is a major importer of coal. The major hard coal deposits in the country are
found in the regions of Ruhr and Saar coalfields, with major players being RAG
Aktiengesellschaft and RWE Power being involved in the mining of hard coal and
lignite respectively (Bischoff et al. 63). Of the lignite deposits, the Rhineland
deposits are the largest and most significant for the nation and are located between
the German/Belgium/Dutch boarder and the River Rhine (Miller 25). The Lusatian
and Central German basins are found to the eastern side of Germany. These lignite
deposits have heating values of 3350 5400Btu/lb, a moisture content of 40 60%,
sulfur and ash content varying from 0.2 2.1% and 1.5 8.5% respectively, with the
Rhineland lignite coal deposits having a sulfur content of less than 0.5% (Miller 25).

The law consists of types of information that patients must be given in order to make

the information that which is given must be clearly understood by the patient; it s up
to the patient to ask questions about any information they don t understand. The
patient must be given the opportunity to look over the information and ask questions,
the patient must also not be pressured to make their own decisions, as the informed

Theraputic Hypothermia Essay
Theraputic Hypothermia
Hypothermia, defined as a core body temperature less than 95 В°F(35В°C) occurs
when heat loss exceeds the body s heat production. (Ruffolo p.47) Thermal stability in
humans depends on the body s ability to adapt to changes in internal and external
temperatures. Heat is transferred throughout tissues and fat, and is released at a rate
directly related to the temperature of the environment through radiation, conduction,
convection, and evaporation.
Hypothermia is typically seen as a bad thing; however, various studies have been
proving it to be very useful. Traumatic brain injury initiates several metabolic
processes
that can exacerbate the injury. There is evidence that ... Show more content on

Taken together, the findings in these trials are important,
because in the United States so far, permanent brain damage after cardiopulmonary
cerebral resuscitation causes many delayed deaths and is seen in about 10to 30
percent of
survivors of out of hospital cardiac arrest. The fact that 2 studies yielded similar
results
makes the important conclusions even more compelling. The rationale for the use of
therapeutic hypothermia is complex. Spontaneous uncontrolled hypothermia start with
potential deleterious shivering, thermo genesis , catecholamine release, and
vasoconstriction, there as controlled hypothermia is potentially beneficial. Therapeutic
hypothermia after cardiac arrest, as used in the 2 stories above, is directed at
mitigating

. This factor VIII is also associated with hemophilia. It is the factor that is either

it is in its inactive state, it will bind to VWF in the blood. If this factor does not
bind VWF while it is in circulation, it will degrade.
After VWF is made, it can follow a number of pathways. It can either be released

One of the main fibrinolysis enzymes is plasmin, this is an enzyme that comes
from plasminogen, the conversion of plasminogen to plasmin will incorporate 2
serine proteases. These serine proteases are tPA and uPA. The enzyme tPA, is
made and released from the endothelial cells, while uPA is made by monocytes and

plasminogen compared to tPA. This process will stop and inhibit the buildup of

Erikson Psychosocial Stages
Erikson s first psychosocial stage is Trust vs Mistrust, this occurs during the first

the sense of trust, whereas the failure at this stage will lead the infant to develop a
sense of mistrust, and may carry this mistrust the other relationships (McLeod,

feeding and comforting during times of need. The second stage of Erikson theory is
Autonomy vs Shame/Doubt, this occurs between the 18 months and 3 years of age.
During this stage the child is being to their independence by discovering their own

Sense and Domain for Father Essay
Saeed defines sense as the semantic links between elements within the vocabulary
system is an aspect of their sense, or meaning. In dictionary, father is defined as a
male parent in relation to his natural child or children. This meaning is derived from
the (nuclear) family view of parent and children relation. Then, what is a family?
According to dictionary, family means a group consisting of parents and children
living together in a household. In this sense, father is a important participant in the
parents and the family domain. Therefore, parents are a base for father (as much as
it is also a base for mother) and a family is a base for parents. So, I can say that a
family profiles parents and parents profile father. In this... Show more content on

As the priest in this case acts as a surrogate father, I might say the priest is a father
(God) of family. Unlike the nuclear family members, the mother seems to have no
place other than Virgin Mary. As this is in regards to father, I will not discuss
further about mother figure in this God s family. Naturally, the followers of belief
are the children in the family concept. Are the churches the houses for these
families? Although the family concept can be applied to this sense of father as in
God, the domain seems rather wider (maybe just religious) than a family concept.
In a narrow sense, priest (God) is a father that is profiled by the church (base). In a
religious sense, a religion (in this case, Catholic) profiles church. Therefore, we may
get similar senses of these two meanings for father but we find different categorical
and hierarchical application of domains.
In Korean, father is defined in dictionary as male parent as well. Similar to the
English concept, father refers to a male who has a child/children. This leads also to
parents/family domain. The sense of the word, father, just as in English language,
corresponds to the domains, parents and then a family. How about the other meaning
of father as in priest? In Korean, father means only God. There is a separate
counterpart word in Korean for priest. Also, the meaning of father as in God is only
applicable in the Christian churches. Although the sense of father can be derived from
Alternative Energy Advantages
The Benefits of Alternative Energy
Alternative energy has been an option as an energy source for a few years now.
Unfortunately, there were a significant amount of obstacles that it has had to
overcome, or that it is still having to overcome. The obstacles range from the lack of
efficiency of alternative energy, fossil fuels being more efficient than alternative
energy, and the subpar technological advancements. There are situations where
alternative energy is useful and should be considered. Although alternative energy
has not always been a reliable energy source, today it is more efficient than in the
past, and is a clean alternative to fossil fuels.
There are an abundant amount of alternative energy sources, nevertheless there are
certainly ones that are more practical and efficient than others depending on the user
of said energy source. A few of the more popular alternative energy sources include
methods of generating energy such as solar power, hydropower, and wind power.
While it is not entirely possible for each of these alternative energy sources to be
used by individuals who are looking to use them for their personal gain, it is not
uncommon to see industrial use of these energy sources. One example of how
home use can be taken advantage of is illustrated by an article that was released by
The Wall Street Journal. The specific part of the article speaks of solar and how it
can be used for individual homes, it explains that in Texas the wind stops blowing

Speech On Life Without Technology
Our lives without technology
Have you ever imagined a life without technology? A life without a smartphone to
communicate, research information or express our emotion in a social network?
Everybody knows that if we did not have the technology around us, our lives would
be completely different at one point that we will have to learn to live without it. Our
lives without technology would be similar to live in the XX century in terms of real
communication, lives in danger and without things that help us every day.
In the past did not exist technology to communicate or research information for the
homework. They use books to research information, those big ones that maybe you
had in your house and you never realise. To communicate, they usually do it by
letter. In 1970 according to Fishgold.net are a lot of things that change comparing
up today. The cars did not have GPS, they had to buy a map or ask for directions to
arrive at the place wanted. The reports for the school were written by hand because
the computers did not exist, in short they were hours writing the report. Another

Michael Crichton s The Great Train Robbery
Money has plagued the human race by turning man against one another and
transforming life into a competition. It has allowed the human race to revamp its
lifestyle and prosper. On the contrary, money has been the predominant motive for
conflict, crimes, and war. Michael Crichton s The Great Train Robbery took place in
Victorian England where money divided people between lavish wealth and dreadful
poverty. Edward Pierce executed one of the most heinous crimes on the South Eastern
Railway, stealing about ВЈ12,000 in gold bullion. In the way he formulated and
executed his plan, Edward Pierce s motive for committing the crimewas his desire for
money. Extending over a year, Edward Pierce s plan for the crime was thoroughly
organized. Crichton

Delta Airlines Merger
There is only about two percent difference between success and failure and that two
percent is the determination and singleness of purpose that makes us do things.
Without it, we are just another airline with it, nothing can stop us. These words
spoken by C.E. Woolman led a small crop dusting operation to the global airlinenow
known as Delta Air Lines. To understand the immense success of this company it is
important to start with the beginning. It is 1924 in Macon, Georgia the first
commercial agriculture company is formed. This company is known as Huff Daland
Dusters. No one knew it at the time, but this was the start of what would become
Delta Air Lines. Collett Everman Woolman, most commonly referred to as C.E.

Delta to fly passengers to a hub such as Atlanta, Georgia where they would have

Music Theory As A Worship Leader
There are many ways to incorporate music theory as a worship leader and as a
worship team. As a leader, there are very significant benefits to having a strong
understanding of music theory including a greater ability to communicate to the
team members according to their understanding, a better understanding of what
you want from the band technically, and a greater proficiency in music which
allows you to connect better with stronger musicians and train up weaker ones. As
a worship team, integrating music theory comes with its own benefits and
challenges. All worship bands need some level of music theory in order to
function at any level of efficiency. So the contrast made here will between those
who use very little music theory, such as those who have chord charts provided
and nothing else, and those who may rely completely off of sheet music. Of course
in this issue, as it is with many issues, it is a matter of balance and there is a sweet
spot in between these two views. Many worship leaders learned how to play guitar
or piano just well enough to play and sing at the same time before being pushed out
to lead worship. That s my story. As soon as I could strum chords and sort of sing
at the same time, I started to lead for the high school group at my church. I knew
very little about theory, although I knew some from my time learning piano as a
child and playing clarinet for a year. I usually played alone or with another singer or
cajonist. I didn t know harmony
The Island Of Dr Moreau Monster Essay

Airplane Of Hope Speech
Airplane of Hope
Dear Mr.Hawkins , my former, history teacher, I know you are set in your idea that
the destruction of the Berlin Wall was the turning point of WWll, I strongly disagree.
Even though there were significant, life changing, humanitarian efforts made by the
U.S, the Berlin Airlift was one of the greatest of these efforts. This was one of the
strongest humanitarian efforts made because America supplied food for the starving
people of West Berlin, granted them the gift of hope when there was nothing left to
hope for, and assisted every step of the way until the terrible separation between East
Berlin and West Berlin. When the Soviets took their share of Germany with France,
Britain, and the U.S., the Soviets made the choice to separate Germany into eastern
and western divisions. This was done so that they could extend communism into a
war torn Europe. After World War Two, there wouldn t have been any better timing.
The war gave them an open door to start communism all over again because no one
would ve been able to stop whatever came in their path.
The events leading to the Airlift began with Russia s iron fist and persistence to
conquer everything. The Russians prayed that the poverty and a war torn Western
Europe would give them the chance to spread communism into the western half of
Europe (Griffin). In the beginning, a plan which was filled with solely hope in the
beginning, slowly unraveled in front of the world s eyes as a nightmare. The Russian

or even what it could be. The visions I have for America may be different from
others. It includes visions about what I think of America, the freedom of America,
the relationship of America and other countries, and the religion of people in
America. The first thing I am going to explain is, What do I think of America?
America has people that take care of their community like cleaning up after
themselves, by greeting new people in the community that are from a different state
or even country. The second idea is Freedom of America. We have freedom today
because we have people in all branches of the military such as: Coast Guard, Marines,

Jewellery Box Essay
PARTS OF A WHOLE HISTORY
Jewellery has been around since the stone age, after the Neanderthals had gained the
knowledge of cutting and molding, accordingly the origin of jewellery box can be
traced for over the centuries, however the exact reference to the first ever made
jewellery box is not easily available. Throughout history a jewellery box was at times
considered as a casket and also treated as miniature treasure chests. People would
typically craft them from the high quality and exceptional materials. They were
once regarded as a symbol of wealth and luxury and hence were originally designed
for royalty and priests, who could afford to own valuables and were designed by
local craftsmen and artisans.
Keeping jewellery safe and in a good condition is the primary motive of a jewellery
box. Initially they made trinket boxes which were smaller in size as compared to a
multicompartmental jewellery box. Some had myriad compartments, drawers,
trays, and velvet slots for rings which were made in different sizes. Besides
jewellery boxes, manufacturing snuff and tea box was a common phenomenon,
however the origin of boxes with or without lids in general is also not specified we
can only trace it after the rise of trade and commerce where the very first jewellery
box might have been a ceramic jar which was a typical material to carry goods in

research, World War II Time Line (Nationalgeographic.com), Semper Fidelis, Code
talkers (Adam Jevec), Memorandum Regarding The Enlistment of Navajo
(archives.gov), Navajo Code Talkers And World War II 1943 (recordsofrights.org),
and lastly the Unbreakable: Remembering the Code Talkers (Hilary Parkinson).
The main idea of my paper would be an insight look on who the code talkers were.
Whose idea was it to form this group? What role did the Navajos play in World War
II, and why the Navajos? The first article that stood out to me was Semper Fidelis,
Code Talkers (Adam Jevec). The article mentions the history of code talkers, the
reason why they were created, and the goal that they achieved. The... Show more

In other words, without the Navajos, we wouldn t have been able to defeat the
Japanese after they had bomb Pearl Harbor. The second article, Memorandum
Regarding The Enlistment of Navajo (archives.org) states, Philip Johnston was the
initiator of the Marine Corps program to enlist and train the Navajos as messengers.
Although Johnston was not a Navajo, he grew up on a Navajo reservation as the son
of a missionary and became familiar with the people and their language. This quote
illustrated us, who exactly came up with the idea of the code talkers. Furthermore,
Phillip Johnston was the mastermind of code talkers, even though he didn t speak the
Los Angeles Lakers
The (9 34) Los Angeles Lakers face the (17 23) Sacramento Kings at the Staples
Center in the third game of their four game season series. The Lakers wasted a fast
start (shot 74 percent from the field in the first quarter) and surprisingly competitive
first half before the Rockets turned up the heat defensively, dropped a nine 0 scoring
run on the purple and gold to start the third quarter en route to a 22 point lead in a
112 95 victory.
The Rockets sixth straight win against the Lakers sending the purple and gold into a
three game losing skid. However, the game provided some positives in addition to the
accompanying and omnipresent negatives.
As far as positives; Kobe Bryant had an assist on seven of the Lakers first 12 baskets,
passed Lakers legend, NBA Hall of Famer, the logo, Jerry West (6,238), landing in...

As far as negatives, the Rockets scored 50 or fewer points in the paint in their
previous 11 games although the Lakers surrendered 70.
The Lakers lost their last two games against the Kings, outscored by 62 points (337
275). As a matter of fact in the Lakers last meeting with the Kings on January 6th at
the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento the purple and gold played one of their better
games of the season.
The purple and gold down 25 4 five minutes into the game; trailed by as many as 27
prior to mounting an epic comeback. The inspired Lakers posted a 38 point third
quarter, outscored the Kings 29 16 in the fourth and led by one point after a tough D
Angelo Russell layup nearly completing the franchises third biggest comeback, based
on halftime deficit before falling 118 115.
In a tale of two halves of basketball, the Lakers outscored 69 48 in the first half,
showed a lot or grit, determination as well as resolve outscoring the Kings 67 49 in
the second half making the game a competitive
Comparing Canadian Federal Political Parties
The social media campaigns of the Canadian Federal Political Parties (Liberal,
Conservative, and NDP) have been compared to one another in an attempt to
understand their choices made to persuade audiences to take part in actively
addressing and supporting their campaigns. Concepts discussed throughout this
course have been applied to the three varying campaigns, including attention, earned
media, branding, spreadability, intended audience, tone, navigation, and participation.
These aspects have been prominent in all three social media campaigns and thus,
have been chosen for this case analysis. Repurposing All three Political Parties post
statuses and advertisements in English and French. This dualism that they
demonstrate is done to target both, Anglophones and Francophones and reach a
wider audience. This choice of theirs plays on the concept of repurposing for
different cultures. Another aspect of repurposing focuses on altering the campaign to
match different seasons, time periods as holidays and events differ. Keeping this
element of repurposing in mind, the Liberal party posted an image in the celebration
of International Women s Day. The image consists of many women holding their
hands and giving the Liberals a thumbs up to support this cause and a quote saying,
Canada needs more women from diverse backgrounds making decisions in Ottawa.
Because when women succeed, we all succeed. The Conservatives did not use
repurposing in any way to support this event.
A Literary Analysis of Hedda Gabler
A Literary Analysis of Hedda Gabler Hedda Gabler is a text in which jealousy and
envy drive a woman to manipulate and attempt to control everyone in her life. The
protagonist, Hedda, shows her jealousy in her interactions with the other characters
in the play, particularly with Eilert Loveborg and Thea Elvsted. Because Hedda is
unable to get what she wants out of life because of her gender and during the time
of the play, her age, she resorts to bringing everyone else down around her. Hedda
lets her jealousyget the best of her and because of this she hurts many of the people
around her as well as ultimately hurting herself. When the play was written, Hedda,
being a woman, did not have many rights and had to do what was expected of a...

In the next example of Hedda s jealousy, one can see how she is willing to go to
extremes to hurt people and how malicious she can be. At the end of Act III, on
page 699, Hedda burns the manuscript that Eilert and Thea worked so hard on. It
was so precious to them that it could be considered their child. As she is burning it,
Hedda says, Now, I m burning your child Thea You with your curly hair. Your child
and Eilert Loveborg s. Now I m burning burning the child. By saying this Hedda
sums up many of the reasons why she is jealous of Thea. She mentions Thea s hair,
proving that even though she dismissed it earlier in the play, she did remember
being jealous of Thea s hair and still is. She is jealous of Thea because Thea is with
Eilert who is the only man that Hedda has ever loved and wanted to be with. She is
jealous that they were able to have a child together because she wishes it could
have been her. In this one quote, Hedda shows her true emotions. She burns the
manuscript as a way to hurt Thea and Eilert because she is jealous of them. She is
malicious and jealous and this is the only way she knows how to react. Hedda tries
to say that she burns the manuscript for George. George had that morning said that he
envied Eilert s manuscript and Hedda tells him that she burned it so that no one
would overshadow George. When Hedda says this she
Examples Of The Narrator In Poisonwood Bible
Narrator Analysis In Barbara Kingsolver s novel, Poisonwood Bible, she used the
transition between narrators which shed light on the perspective of each member of
the Price family. The Price family ventures from Georgia to the Congo led by their
father, a Baptist Minister. Throughout their journey each narrator dramatically
changes. The families influence on the Congo is parallel to western influence in the
Congo.
Father to the Price family, Nathan Price emerged his family into this mission in the
hopes to spread religion to Congo. He chose to endanger his family in the hopes
that he would be able to affect the religion of everyone he influenced. Similar to
Rachel, Nathan also represents western ideals influencing Congo. Nathan believed
that an education for women was a waste. Sending a girl to college is like pouring
water in your shoes. [...] It s hard to say which is worse, seeing it run out and waste
the water, or seeing it hold in and wreck the shoes. This proves that Nathan Price
was sexism towards his family was driven by his belief of Christianity. Throughout
the book Nathan represents the Christianity in America in the sixties.
Wife to Nathan Price, Orleanna Price was a character that changed the most
throughout the book. Orleanna began their mission to Congo under Nathan. Nathan
or Christianity in the sixties, proved to favor the man yet shamed women. This was a
significant reason why Orleanna had no opinion when going to Congo. After the
death of her youngest
How Tobacco Use Teaching Methods
Tobacco Use Teaching Methods
Introduction
Choosing the correct teaching method is important to help the learner retain and
learn information in an effective and efficient way. Tobacco use is a health related
topic that needs further education and intervention from a nurse. Group discussion
and demonstration, and return demonstration are two teaching methods of interest to
me, which I believe will be beneficial to use when educating a small group of five
people about this health related topic are. Group discussion involves the deliverance
of medical information or education to a small group of individuals which may
include their family so information, opinions can be exchanged with the nurse. This
is simple way to deliver information to more than one person at one time if time
management is a concern, and the nurse is able to build trust and rapport with the
group as a whole. Demonstration and return demonstration works more effectively
in a small group and involves education or teaching with the nurse and learner(s).
This method also allows time for feedback from both parties. The nurse gives the
learner a demonstration of a task to perform and the learner has to attempt to carry
out the task back showing competence, and the nurse is on standby to give cues as
needed.
Group discussions Group discussions are beneficial as this teaching method is useful
as it allows the learners to share information about their personal experiences and is
both economically and time

The difficulty lies in finding the right words to showcase your personality, experiences, and achievements without coming across as self-centered or boastful. Crafting an essay that captivates the reader while remaining authentic can be challenging. The challenge intensifies when you consider the need to strike a balance between highlighting your strengths and acknowledging your weaknesses. It's a delicate dance between self- assuredness and vulnerability, aiming to create a narrative that engages the reader without sounding rehearsed or insincere. Unveiling your true self on paper can feel like navigating a maze of self-reflection, introspection, and thoughtful expression. Moreover, there's the constant pressure to stand out and make a memorable impression. It requires a keen understanding of what makes you unique and how to convey that distinctiveness effectively. In 1894, construction neared completion on The Thomas Jefferson Building, the oldest of the three buildings which comprise the Library of Congress in Washington D.C.. With the exterior well in hand, the architects turned their attention to the interior, commissioning extensive murals by well known artists. The commissioners of these murals deliberately set out to personify the ideals of the [American] people through the medium of government sponsored art, and provide a relatively young nation with a story about themselves a visual literature which would connect them to the distant past.1 Among the most famous of these murals is Edwin Blashfield s The Evolution of Civilization which occupies the massive dome of the Main Reading Room;... In spite of what painters, archeologists, or researchers of the nineteenth century believed about the ancient world, cuneiform has since proven its historical mettle. As displayed by Darius and his memorial at Bisitun, the early, crude cuneiform of 5000 B.C.E. adapted itself to culture after culture, and morphed into the dusty forerunner of our modern alphabet. The Phoenicians, the original ancient mariners, are responsible for transforming cuneiform into a more efficient writing system by paring down the somewhat ungainly number of 5,000 cuneiform characters into 29 characters. Adopted around 1000 B.C.E., the Phoenician alphabet was not a collection of pictographs like many early forms of writing, but instead a close relative of many modern writing systems.11 The sophisticated navy and extensive trade network of Phoenicia ensured that this new version of cuneiform would quickly spread to its ancient neighbors. Phoenicia s alphabet would soon be adopted by the Greeks, who also refined and perfected this writing system to meet their own needs; likewise the Romans, eager inheritors of all things Greek, adopted the alphabet for their own use. It could be said that the highly adaptive descendants of cuneiform formed the basis for the literature of the Classical world. The Phoenician cuneiform alphabet was also adopted by Jewish culture, providing a medium for Hebrew narrative and progressive sense of history, another innovation

This separation was not by any means voluntary, they were forced apart during the Holocaust. Wiesel was a Jew when the invasion of Hungary occurred and the Germans ripped members of his religion away from their home in Sighet. A once peaceful community where Wiesel learned to love the Kabbalah was now home to only dust and lost memories. Most members of that Jewish community were never to return, hell greeted them with open arms as they walked through the now rusty gates of Auschwitz. In order to survive unimaginable circumstances that were enforced in these camps, a boy had to hang on to his humanity. But by no means did humanity stay with the boy, being subjected to the horror of concentration camps, Auschwitz and Buchenwald, Elie Wieselsaw first hand how members of other communities attempt to silence opposing voices. All of the pain that Wiesel saw inspired him to keep watch and tell stories for people who wouldn t live on to tell them for their own families. Stories are what keeps a person alive and through Eliezer s words that he puts down many are able to get a sense of closure in knowing what occurred at these camps. It is considered as the supplement of the UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) and the main target for the Kyoto protocol is to reduce the emissions of anthropogenic greenhouse gases. Nowadays, there are 192 Parties that have signed and ratified the Kyoto Protocol and the overall emission of these countries accounts for 61% of the total greenhouse gases emission on world. The agreement was designed first to solve the issue on greenhouse gas emission and it is one of the most well known environmental issue in public and becomes worse and worse through time. Therefore, reducing greenhouse gas emission today is necessary and crucial for the sustainability of the environment. One of the most famous impact of greenhouse gas emission is the sea level increasing. As the tremendous amount of greenhouse gas emissions in 21 century, it leads to the global warming and thus the Earth s climate has warmed by approximately 0.6 Celsius degree over the past 100 years. Increasing of sea level makes island countries such as Maldives face the problem that the majority of its land area might be underwater by the end of the century( Union of Concerned Scientists,2011). Nevertheless sometimes we cannot be sure about an event because although there is enough evidence, our minds cannot be persuaded. An example to justify that is the existence of the Loch Ness monster, or as it is widely known Nessie . Nessie s story begins from the first century A.D, when Romans first went to Northern Scotland and found carved, standing stones (which are still found in the region around Loch Ness) that represented animals, which were all easily recognizable, except one. ... It was around one a.m. and was bright because of the moonlight when he saw a large object on the right side of the road. As he approached the object he saw a small head attached to a long neck. Unlike the nuclear family members, the mother seems to have no place other than Virgin Mary. As this is in regards to father, I will not discuss further about mother figure in this God s family. Naturally, the followers of belief are the children in the family concept. Are the churches the houses for these families? Although the family concept can be applied to this sense of father as in God, the domain seems rather wider (maybe just religious) than a family concept. In a narrow sense, priest (God) is a father that is profiled by the church (base). In a religious sense, a religion (in this case, Catholic) profiles church. Therefore, we may get similar senses of these two meanings for father but we find different categorical and hierarchical application of domains. In Korean, father is defined in dictionary as male parent as well. Similar to the English concept, father refers to a male who has a child/children. This leads also to parents/family domain. Even though there were significant, life changing, humanitarian efforts made by the U.S, the Berlin Airlift was one of the greatest of these efforts. This was one of the strongest humanitarian efforts made because America supplied food for the starving people of West Berlin, granted them the gift of hope when there was nothing left to hope for, and assisted every step of the way until the terrible separation between East Berlin and West Berlin. When the Soviets took their share of Germany with France, Britain, and the U.S., the Soviets made the choice to separate Germany into eastern and western divisions. She is jealous of Thea because Thea is with Eilert who is the only man that Hedda has ever loved and wanted to be with. She is jealous that they were able to have a child together because she wishes it could have been her. In this one quote, Hedda shows her true emotions. She burns the manuscript as a way to hurt Thea and Eilert because she is jealous of them. She is malicious and jealous and this is the only way she knows how to react. Hedda tries to say that she burns the manuscript for George. George had that morning said that he envied Eilert s manuscript and Hedda tells him that she burned it so that no one would overshadow George. When Hedda says this she

Examples Of The Narrator In Poisonwood Bible Narrator Analysis In Barbara Kingsolver s novel, Poisonwood Bible, she used the transition between narrators which shed light on the perspective of each member of the Price family. The Price family ventures from Georgia to the Congo led by their father, a Baptist Minister. Throughout their journey each narrator dramatically changes. The families influence on the Congo is parallel to western influence in the Congo. Father to the Price family, Nathan Price emerged his family into this mission in the hopes to spread religion to Congo. He chose to endanger his family in the hopes that he would be able to affect the religion of everyone he influenced. Similar to Rachel, Nathan also represents western ideals influencing Congo. Nathan believed that an education for women was a waste. Sending a girl to college is like pouring water in your shoes. [...] It s hard to say which is worse, seeing it run out and waste the water, or seeing it hold in and wreck the shoes. This proves that Nathan Price was sexism towards his family was driven by his belief of Christianity. Throughout the book Nathan represents the Christianity in America in the sixties. Wife to Nathan Price, Orleanna Price was a character that changed the most throughout the book. Orleanna began their mission to Congo under Nathan. Nathan or Christianity in the sixties, proved to favor the man yet shamed women. This was a significant reason why Orleanna had no opinion when going to Congo. After the death of her youngest

How Tobacco Use Teaching Methods Tobacco Use Teaching Methods Introduction Choosing the correct teaching method is important to help the learner retain and learn information in an effective and efficient way. Tobacco use is a health related topic that needs further education and intervention from a nurse. Group discussion and demonstration, and return demonstration are two teaching methods of interest to me, which I believe will be beneficial to use when educating a small group of five people about this health related topic are. Group discussion involves the deliverance of medical information or education to a small group of individuals which may include their family so information, opinions can be exchanged with the nurse. This is simple way to deliver information to more than one person at one time if time management is a concern, and the nurse is able to build trust and rapport with the group as a whole. Demonstration and return demonstration works more effectively in a small group and involves education or teaching with the nurse and learner(s). This method also allows time for feedback from both parties. The nurse gives the learner a demonstration of a task to perform and the learner has to attempt to carry out the task back showing competence, and the nurse is on standby to give cues as needed. Group discussions Group discussions are beneficial as this teaching method is useful as it allows the learners to share information about their personal experiences and is both economically and time
