1. College Essay Review
Crafting an essay on the intricacies of "College Essay Review" can be a challenging endeavor,
requiring a delicate balance of critical analysis, self-reflection, and a keen understanding of the
audience's expectations. The difficulty lies not only in articulating personal experiences and
accomplishments but also in presenting them in a way that captures the attention of the reader
and conveys a genuine sense of character.
The process begins with a thorough examination of one's academic journey, extracurricular
activities, and personal growth, demanding a thoughtful reflection on the lessons learned and
challenges overcome. It's essential to strike a harmonious chord between humility and

insightful demands meticulous planning, drafting, and revising.

2. Taking a Look into Food Photography
Food photography is a huge part of our society today. Food Photography is an
important element to creating an impact. Consumers react first through sight, and
then are prompted to behave in a particular way in response to how they feel about
what they see. A well laid out design with beautiful color selection and appropriate
typographic treatments will certainly grab the attention of a consumer. But a
perfectly executed, well shot photograph is more likely to make them react.
There are many factors that influence food photography. Food photography started in
the 1600s as a painting, and the paintings looked as if they were taken from far
away. The food they used for the art was artificially doctored up. For example ice
cream was substituted with mash potatoes and paper mache mock ups were
sometimes used instead of real poultry. These substitutions were a result of hot
studio lamps, but as cameras and film speed and sensitivity improved, more
genuine food products were introduced. But when people found out, it gave the
profession a horrible name. Because of the technical aspects of the food
photography of this period, it was not taken seriously as an art. In the 1800s when
the camera was introduced, it changed the way food photographs were taken. The
first still life was a view from the window, by Nicephore Niepce in 1827. Due to the
eight hour exposure time that it took to take the picture, the buildings were
illuminated from both sides by the sun.

3. The Importance Of Catching A Girl s Lacrosse
Girls lacrosse isn t as easy as it looks. Without the right training and and equipment
you can get seriously injured. Lacrosse is the oldest sport in North America.
Lacrosse had started in 1857, girl s lacrosse started in 1890 and was given its name
by french settlers. In 1933, girl s lacrosse was restricted with rules that limits stick
contact, prohibits body contact, and requires protective equipment. In order to play
girl s lacrosseyou should know 3 basic techniques, picking up ground balls, throwing
/catching, and cradling. Ground balls are simple to pick up but requires a lot of
effort at all times. Your right hand has to be at the throat of the stick, preferably a
little bit above the middle and your left hand will be towards the bottom of the stick
around the lower... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Catching a lacrosse ball isn t hard as long as whoever is throwing it to you has
good aim and doesn t hit your face. When catching a lacrosse ball you want to
make sure that your right and left hand are in the same position as picking up
ground balls. Your lacrosse stick has to be towards your right and the back of your
lacrosse stick has to be facing you so that the opening is facing forward. You want
to have your lacrosse stick bent forward so that the person knows you re ready to
catch the ball. Always be sure that when someone is throwing the ball towards you,
your lacrosse stick moves towards whatever direction the ball is heading towards.
For finalization, the ball can be felt when you are holding your lacrosse stick. You
want to get your hands into the same position you were in for catching, make sure
that your right foot is forward and bent, also that the bottom of your lacrosse stick
is in front of your body and the head of the stick is behind your head but to the
right. Now you are able to just throw the ball, but when you do it make sure that the
ball is towards the center in your net so that your throw can be as accurate as
4. The Reliability Of Eyewitness Testimony
There are many different factors that play a part in the increased chance of a witness
correctly identifying a suspect. Such factors should be brought to the attention of the
jury and the judge to help in properly assessing whether a witness is correctly
identifying a suspect. A study by Magnussen, Melinder, Stridbeck, Raja (2010) found
that of the three different types of people: judge, jury, and general public, that for the
most part all where fairly ill informed on the reliability of eyewitness testimony
with judges having the most. Judges only had about an 8% difference in knowledge
when compared to jurors. With this information it is very clear that education on the
reliability of eyewitness testimony needs to become more of a general knowledge
information for the everyone, especially people who are involved in upholding the
law. Another factor to look into when evaluating the accuracy eyewitness testimony
is the role that memory plays. Memory is divided into three processes: perceiving,
remembering, and recalling information (Simmonsen, 2013). There is plenty of
room in all three of those stages to forget or falsely remember something. Some
factors that play a part when a person perceives an event is the amount of time they
are exposed to the event and the suspect. A study conducted by Horry, Halford,
Brewer, Milne, Bull. (2014) found that witnesses were increasingly more likely to
correctly identify a suspect if they had been exposed to the suspect for sixty
5. Mistaken Identity, Cerak And Tabb
The shocking, heartbreaking, and tragic event that led to the devastation of two
families started with the mistaken identity of their daughters. When dealing with the
problems in life that come to, you sometimes you have to have faith that everything
will work out fine. From dealing with a tragic accident, caused a familyto spend
weeks in the hospital. Next to a girl in a coma that they were told was your
daughter, may just not be her. In the novel Mistaken Identity by Van Ryn, Cerak
and Tabb, there are many historical fiction points that are based off a true story. The
evening of April 26, 2006 (Ryn 13) was when the Taylor University van was struck

identity, they grew even more doubtful. The parents began to think that this wasn t
their daughter Laura. Laura began talking about her parents names, and the
therapist realized they were not the names of Laura s parents. (Ryn 178). Laura
also had 2 siblings, a brother and a sister, Laura s sister noticed that Laura s teeth
looked different. (Boyle) By calling in dental records and examining them, they
found that Laura s teeth they did not match. That s when they discovered there was
a mistaken identity at the accident scene. The Doctor had come in to Laura s room
and said I m so sorry, but your daughter Laura didn t survive the accident. (Ryn 184)
They soon figured out the girl that had been in a coma for five weeks wasn t Laura.
The girl was identified as Whitney Cerak. The devastation of the Van Ryn family
was unreal. They had spent 5 weeks in the hospital by a girl s side thinking it was
their daughter, only to find out their daughter was pronounced dead at the accident
6. Tax Reform Essay
The United States is in a recession; it has been facing some of the worse economic
times since the Great Depression in the 1930 s. One option to fix the economy is to
change the corporate tax rate. To lower it or to raise it, that is the question economists
have been speculating. America s high corporate taxrate and worldwide system of
taxation discourages U.S. companies from sending their foreign source revenue
home, which makes U.S. companies defenseless to foreign acquisition from the
international opponents (Camp). Corporations and United Statescitizens have been
fighting for a tax reform, which would hopefully help the American economy; either
by lowering the corporate tax, or by raising the tax.
The United States corporate tax ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A tax haven is a country that offers foreign corporations and individuals relatively
low corporate and income tax rates, with a politically and economically stable
environment. Some tax havens are Switzerland, Hong Kong, Bermuda, Ireland, and
the Cayman Islands. Although the businesses have moved across seas, the United
States forces them to pay the corporate tax. Fortunately for the businesses, it they
keep their income and money across seas they do not have to the pay the American
corporate tax, Unfortunately this is ghastly for the United States Government
businesses keep their products and profits over seas.
One proposal for the lowering of taxes in the United States is Herman Cain s 999
Plan. Herman Cain is a republican politician running for president in the year 2012.
The 999 Plan is a tax reform plan that would change personal income tax, national
sales tax, and corporate sales tax all to nine percent. (Astor) The argument for the
plan is that it would strengthen the economy and create jobs because it would lower
taxes by 26 percent on businesses, therefore giving them incentive to start hiring,
therefore creating new jobs for Americans. Currently the United States
Unemployment rate is at 9.1 percent. Also corporations would be more willing to
bring their profits home due to the lower
7. Roman Catholic Contemporary Culture
Roman Catholic Theology and Contemporary Culture
Christy James
Grand Canyon University: HTH 469
April 3, 2016
Similar to that of the rise of classical liberal theology and Protestantism, the Roman
Catholic Church experienced a change in theological thought. Modernism led to
increased biblical criticism and called for Catholic theologies to adapt to the
surrounding modern world. Just like those who opposed liberalism, this new way
of thinking was also faced with many within the church who opposed it. In 1959
however, John XXIII was elected as the new pope who would set out to bring the
church up to speed with the modern world. The result was the formation of the
Second Vatican Council also commonly referred to as the Vatican II. Theologians
Karl Rahner and Hans KГјng s attendance to the council had a major impact because
their ideas helped to advance a Catholic theology which focused on bridging the gap
between the church and contemporary culture. Vatican II met at the Vatican City in
Rome from 1962 to 1965. It was formed in order to discuss different theological
controversies that continued to confront the Church. Prior to this meeting the church
was experiencing the integralism movement. ... Show more content on

KГјng focused much of his theories on apologetics. For Kung, true Christian
apologetics must take seriously the secularism and atheism of modern Western
culture and attempt to communication Christian belief in a way that speaks to people
of that mindset (Grenz Olson, 1992, p. 257). One area of weakness for KГјng
however is his Christology. In his book, On Being a Christian, he goes into great
detail about the historical personality of Christ. KГјng only associated Christ as being
a man consumed by God but never as God in the
8. Theme Of Communication In The Movie Crash
An Analysis of the Communication used in Crash by Paul Haggis The movie Crash
shows the hostility between characters of different backgrounds, primarily through
their interactions and dialect, to prove that everyone experiences discrimination and
racism in their lives no matter their race, religion, sexual orientation, age, etc. Director
Paul Haggis focuses on language, behavior, and stereotypes to convey the different
kinds of communicationused between the diverse races and ethnicity groups that are
shown throughout the film. The textbook, Understanding Human Communication,
defines human communication as the process of creating meaning through symbolic
interactions, but this process is much more intricate than this definition makes it out
to be (Adler, 5). Through my own analysis of the plot and various storylines, I will
discuss the concepts and principles of communication used to portray the injustice of
racial stereotyping and persecution in today s society.
Three specific concepts of communication from Understanding Human
Communication I recognized in the movie include the process of forming self
perception and perceptions of others, stereotyping, and the power of language, more
specifically connotative language. Stereotyping is defined as the perceptual process
of applying exaggerated beliefs associated with a categorizing system (Adler, 49). In
Crash, two young men interact for the first time toward the end of the plot, a white
police officer named

hurricane since 2012, when Hurricane Sandy struck New York and New Jersey.
Nevertheless they stood firm and ready to take on what Hurricane Matthew had in
store. Standing true to their motto Always Ready Always There . The events
following October 6, 2016 would put the National Guard to the test. The National
Guard response consisted of three phases: training, preparation, and execution. The
stage was set for the National Guard s plan to go into action. The National Guard
success comes largely from training. From real life training exercises, field training,
simulation training and distributed learning. In the event of an activation, leaders must

and local authorities recover from the storm. In less impacted areas Civilians
received help from the Guard to safely navigate around the flooded and hazardous
streets. More Blackhawk and Chinook crews supplied shelters with cots, Rack
Packs (2 3 day supply food rations with toiletries), and medical supplies. In some
cases medical evacuations took place to get Citizens urgent and proper care. While
rescue efforts started to slow down the Guard was hard at work with the recover part
of their execution. As of October 18, 2016 North Carolina National Guard 875th
Engineer Company was still providing support to the area of Princeville, North
Carolina. An area of the town covered by 20 feet of water similar to Hurricane
Floyd in 1999. The Engineers connected pumps and pipes and began the process of
pumping out the flood water. They drained 80 million gallons of flood water from
the town. Bringing a great deal of relief to the Citizens. The early reports of the
after math indicate four dead and thousands without power in the southeast and
caused millions of dollars of damage as it pushed northward. Along with that many
homeowners left to deal with plumbing issues as in backed up drains, pipes, and
septic tanks. While in other places people were without running or unsafe water due
to power outage at some water treatment plants. These numbers continue to grow as
flood waters began to recede and rivers rose to record

English Comparison Essay
Red Jacket and Olaudah Equiano have different opinions on the people of the United
States of America because they had different roles and were in different situations,
they were in different locations, and they experienced different types of treatment and
behavior. Olaudah Equiano was a captured African from Benin; his home in Western
South Africa. He worked as a slave in Barbados and Virginia but surprisingly bought
his freedom and headed to England to support the British anti slavery movement. He
learned how to read and write in English while settled in Great Britain. This led to
him writing about his experience of being a slave and all the horrific sights he saw.
He wrote a piece about him being captured and sent to the ship. He talked about his
journey, shows the knowledge, and education he had back then. He wrote about the
Americans and what he thought about them. He also mentions the treatment the
Africans were getting. On the other hand, Red Jacket had the role of a Native
American Chief, he was a prominent leader of the Native American tribe called the
Senecas. He, unlike Equiano, wrote about his experience while in the United States of
America. His speech was his weapon to defend the religion he believes in. He uses

were living in different circumstances, they both had some similarities in their

11. The Role Of Genocide In The World Almanac
Genocide in the World Almanac states that there were nine genocides that
occurred, while other sources may disagree with this list, and classify other mass
killings as genocide. Our fact of a genocide may be perceived differently than
another individual s fact of genocide, therefore is it still a genocide. While the
Almanac states there were 1,000,000 deaths of Armenians, CNN states that there
were 2,000,000 deaths.[1][16] Wikipedia says there were 1,500,000 deaths of
Armenians, and the End Genocide website agrees with this claim.[17][18] This
possibility is due to the inaccuracy of collecting data of the deaths, and since they
were being murdered so frequently the number became only an estimate. The
source listed in the World Almanac came directly from the treaty of the United
Nations this treaty ruled out if the mass killings were for a political reason then
they weren t defined as a genocide. Therefore, the difference in numbers could be a
result of killing for the sake of politics. The goal of CNN is to inform, but they also
want traffic towards their website. When I was searching for other sources of
information I saw the webpage... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

12. Ap Environmental Science Personal Statement
Science is in my blood. I grew up always being fascinated in science both physical
and environmental. My love for science started early when I was able to play
outside every day and performing my own experiments in the backyard. Throughout
middle school and high school, I took every available science course, I simply just
wanted to know more. I did not know my exact path of study until my senior year in
high school. I enrolled into an AP Environmental Scienceclass, a brand new test run
course at my school. Thinking back to AP Environmental Science, it was not just the
material that directed my study. Ultimately it was my teacher, Mrs. Andre, who
strengthen the flames of desire and intrigue to continue along the environmental
studies path. Her drive and passion every day is what inspired me to focus on
environmental educationand communication.
I have witnessed first hand the same excitement that I had as a child in the children
that I encounter while teaching at environmental centers. I continue to learn about
sciences in order to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I was fortunate enough to go to a high school that offered over 20 different science
courses ranging from chemical to meteorological to forensic to environmental to

alone at most high schools. I want to see the inclusion of a variety of sciences at a
younger age, because it will keep children s interest and make them excited to
learn about a new topic that they have not already discussed previous years. The
variety will allow some students to excel that normally do not do well in science
based courses. Not all science courses are not black and white for every single
student. For instance, chemistry involves higher mathematics, while forensics is
hands on and earth science is observational. The skill sets for each science course is

13. Perception And Perception Of Perception
The term friendship is defined as a mutual strand of affection between two or more
people. It is a stronger form of interpersonal bond than an association. It is a link
between people who show trust and altruism with one another without the placement
of sexual or physical intimacy that commonly happens in a romantic relationship.
Friends tend to share common interests, demographics, backgrounds, and traits of the
self. However, before we get to know a person, we use perceptionto categorize them
into a certain role. It often causes us to assume that the other party is superior or
inferior to us. We do this more often than not without even realizing we ve engaged
in perception. Perception played a very large part in the first meeting of my best
friend, Cinda, and I. In Chapter 4: Interpersonal Perception (Floyd, 2011), there are
many examples of the ways in which people instantly perceive another person as
being one way or another. This exact thing happened when I met Cinda. Our
perceptions of one another were not complimentary or nice, in fact, we were
practically enemies at the time. Negativity bias, or the tendency to weigh negative
information more heavily than positive (Floyd, 2011), would describe what we felt
with each other. We were unable to see anything good or complimentary about the
other. What exactly brought on these feelings? One might ask. Well, embarrassingly
enough, it all started with a boy; Cinda and I had never even spoke to each other.

Executive Summary Severodvinsk has its economy based on industry, mainly in
shipbuilding yards, civilian vessels construction and repair, manufacture of marine
tools and the most important submarine, nuclear submarines and military equipment.
Severodvinsk is situated on the shore of two different water sources: White Sea and
Northen Dvine River. There are around five months with relative high temperatures
when the snow will melt, raising the volume of river and sewage. Saying that
separate system is useful to guarantee a low variation of flow into the sewage. The

Saying that, some assumption must be taken. The design is supposed to meet the
demand of whole year with low variation of efficacy. Waste water treatment plants
consists on a series of processes and units to produce a specific effluent of known
composition and flow rate. These treatments are essential to deal with domestic,
industrial and agricultural contaminations and pollutants mainly considering solids
of organic nature. The main focus on this design will be organic compounds in the
domestic waste water BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand) and TSS (Total
Suspended Solids). Based on the Royal Commission for UK and Ireland the
concentrations of effluents to be disposed on receiving water are 20mg/L for BOD5
and 30mg/L for TSS as theses parameters apparently would not cause any harm and
will not be favourable for other process such as eutrophication. Considering that
Severodvinsk is situated close to the Dvina River and White Sea these concentrations
does not need to be highly restricted once that there is plenty of water available for
further dilutions. Is important to have in mind that low parameters involves high
investments in processes and equipments. Before start designing the processes itself
is essential to understand the flows and concentrations of BOD5 and TSS that are
running into the units. Some
15. Effectiveness Of A Volunteer Team Group Structure
Our intervention occurred at the group level, where we also needed to consider the
inputs, design components and outputs in order to do group level diagnosis. Here
we looked at goal clarity, task structure, functioning of the group, composition, and
performance norms. Ward s volunteer team group structure deviated widely from
most for profit companies: the design components are all loosely defined. Because
Ward teams depend on volunteers it is more challenging to hold teams to any kind of
performance measures. We also looked at the individual level design components:
tasks identity, significance, autonomy, variety, and feedback. Here, too, it is difficult
to hold members to performance standards. Although we concluded that the group
level performance gap was largely a result of inadequate communication, individual
outputs were also not as desired. Volunteers varied in performance; however, you
couldn t fire them. There were no repercussions for absenteeism. They lacked KSA s
and often motivation to do a good job. Showing up was the highest expectation.
Understanding all of the organizational, group and individual inputs, design
components and outputs is critical to determine effectiveness. In most companies
with HR, the OD professional would likely need to work with HR to gain this
knowledge. HR is a source of data and has experience working with line managers
and staff, or at least offers a different perspective. Here is one area where the push
pull between the OD
16. The Ethical Issue of Participants Giving Informed Consent...
Ethical Issues: One major ethical issue before a study can be conducted is that
participants must give informed consent before they participate. The Nuremburg
Code from 1947 says that individuals must give voluntary consent if the study is
associated with human subjects (Saks Allsop, 2007). Therefore, according to the
code, the elderly patients have the right to refuse participation and I cannot and do
not have the right to influence or ask these patients to participate. Elderly patients
must give informed consent before the interviews are conducted and agree to provide
information to the study. Ethical approval from the institutional review board on
campus will be acquired before the start of the study. There is an agency in Canada
that consists of the CIHR, SSHRC, and the NSERC, with the purpose of governing
research ethics. The autonomyof participants in the study must be respected and that
they should be able to decide whether or not to take part in the research without being
interference. All aspects of the study must be explained to the elderly patients, such
as the purpose, risks/harm, and benefits. Although there may not be physical harm
from this study, there can be psychological harm due to elderly patients bringing up
the social issues they face and how it connects with the issue. Participants also have
the right to withdraw from the study or withdraw data that has been collected on
them at any time (CIHR, NSERC, SSHRC, 2010). Another ethical issue is

2. Noah is organized.

4. Good reading skills, especially fluency.
5. Likes to participate in extra curricular activities such as sports.
Description of Behavior(include a description of the frequency, duration, and intensity
of the behavior(s)):
1. Ongoing pattern of uncooperative defiant, hostile and annoying behavior towards
people in authority.
These behaviors do not appear at the beginning of the school year, but each year
appear to increase as Noah becomes familiar with the school setting for the school
year. The behaviors appear to continue to increase in number and intensity with
each discipline he receives. As teachers make more demands on Noah, he appears
to have more difficulties with his behavior. Once a teacher addresses the issue with
Noah, it appears that he is unable to readjust and reframe his behavior. Behaviors
will escalate until he is requested to leave the room. Once he enters the office
because of his behavior, Noah refuses to comply with instruction. Typically, he sits in
the in school suspension (ISS) room and goofs off, refusing to do his work.
It appears that Noah will repeat the same behaviors with certain

couple of wandering tradesmen while I was still enslaved by the Hutts. From the
moment the moment the two supposed tradesmen stepped into Oyell the Hutts hall, I

devastating. We lost seven hired guns, while the arrogant Chiss man was shot
through the back of the head by a blaster pistol, he was still swinging his lightsaber
when blast hit. He fell otop his lightsaber that was still aglow, chopping his body in

19. Microsoft Azure And Google App Engine Essay
Data location and data segregation are of importance in the cloud, given the
disparate physical location of shared computing resources. It is a possibility that
cloud users be under statutory, regulatory or contractual obligations to ensure that
data is held and managed in a certain way. To understand where the data is stored in
the cloud, a person must what type of cloud deployment models there are in use.
There are four different cloud deployment models that are used in the cloud
computing environment. The four models are private cloud, public cloud, hybrid
cloud and community cloud. A private cloud can be owned or leased and managed
by the organization or a third party and exist at on premises or off premises. A
public cloud is an infrastructure is provided to many customers is managed by a
third party and exist beyond the company firewall, examples would be Microsoft
Azure and Google App Engine. A hybrid cloud is a composition of two or more
cloud deployment models, which links data in such a way that the data transfer
takes place between them without affecting each other. An example of a hybrid
cloud would be Amazon Web Services (ABS). The community cloud is a model
that is shared by several organizations for a shared cause and may be managed by

20. The Monster or Beauty of Advertisement Essay
In life, nothing is hardly ever clear, as if there s never just one side over the other,
but more commonly a mix of both. This idea applies to something that appears in
almost everyone s life, advertisements. For every TV owner, laptop user, or shopper,
it s nearly impossible to escape the grasp of advertisements. But a current controversy
that catching people s attention is the idea that advertisements can possibly be
manipulative instead of the expected persuasive advertisement. In Two Ways a Can
Get Hurt, Jean Kilbourne believes that advertisements degrade and possibly even
remove women from power. Also, in With These Words, I Can Sell You Anything, by
William Lutz, the idea that open words, and how companies can use these tactics...

When looking at Kilbourne s two premises it is easy to agree with premise one, that
commercials do degrade women, but there doesn t seem to be the connection between
women being degraded, to these commercials being manipulative. In the printed ad
Cigarette Women, there is a small picture with a male and female actress, not very
clear, but still noticeable. To the ignorant eye, it would be viewed as harmless, but
in the eyes of Kilbourne it speaks so much more. The position of the women in the
picture could be seen as helpless and dependent on the man who has a powerful
stance. The clothes on these two models could be seen in a similar way with the
man being fully clothed in a business, while the woman is in a short white dress.
These are two factors that do show this picture to be degrading and provocative, but it
isn t manipulating.
Manipulation can be seen with having the traits of being forceful, by being tricky, or
to falsify for one owns advantage. This picture of the man and the women is not
forceful by any means, is does not threaten or pump fear in the minds of the audience.
There doesn t seem to be anything falsified to be tricky for the advertisement
company s own good. So Kilbourne s idea that by degrading women these
companies are manipulative, is false. They use the factors of persuasion by inducing,
or prevail, or urge on successfully. The urge is created by the

In the article, Media can Broaden the Immigration Debate by Putting a Human Face

whole, but essentially lacks the sufficient amount of information that would
effectively validate why the economic impact of immigration in America is so
eminent. Because immigrationis such a broad topic, authors like Pineda have
essentially focused on only one aspect to examine and analyze; however, the
evidence provided in this particular article does not clarify any of the existing
ambiguity of the issue. In this case, Pineda asserts that, the United Stateswill always

23. Ethical Relativism Moral Or Immoral
Brittany Haskell Mr. Legge CLN 4U Due: December 19, 2014 Ethical Relativism
Moral or Immoral Ethical relativism is the theory that holds that morality is
relative to the norms of one s culture. That is, whether an action is right or wrong
depends on the moral norms of the society in which it is practiced. Moral or ethical
relativism is the idea that what is considered moral or immoral depends on the
accepted behaviors within the society in which the determination is made.
Therefore, what is considered moral or ethical in one society may be considered
immoral or unethical in another, but each society is equally correct. For this reason
the question remains, if and action is considered to be moral does that mean that the
action is also normal? Although something may seem right to someone living in a
different community, people living in a society like ours today may feel differently.
Ethical Relativism can be looked at are moral or immoral in many different ways.
Looking at the articles Guarding The Boundaries, A Defense of Ethical Relativism
and Butterflies and Wheels, it is clearly shown that although ethnical relativism may
seem immoral, but really in many ways is moral. In the article Guarding The
Boundaries, by Anthony Daniels. The philosopher states that men can no more avoid
making moral and aesthetic judgments than they can avoid eating. In our society it is
clearly shown that abuse is incorrect and immoral, but looking at in in a different

25. The Five Characteristics Of The Five Factor Model...
The five factor model personality theory states that an individual s personality
consists of five general traits. These traits are extraversion, agreeableness,
conscientiousness, neuroticism and openness (King, 2016, pg. 475). Each of the
traits are put in a certain order according to how they appear from the factor
analysis (King, 2016, pg. 475). Factor analysis is a method that researchers used to
group together similar traits which are used to describe personality (King, 2016,
pg. 475). In the trait sequence, neuroticism is the first trait and it is the trait that
describes a pessimistic personality or someone who lacks confidence and a positive
mindset (King, 2016, pg. 476). Extraversion is the opposite trait of neuroticism
and is the trait that individuals who are social and able to interact well with others
portray (King, 2016, pg. 476). Openness is being receptive to various creative
views and the ability to express oneself in a unique, individualistic manner (King,
2016, pg. 476). The agreeableness trait describes a personality aspect where the
individual is dedicated to good deeds and believes in the potential that people have
to be good (King, 2016, pg. 476). The last trait of the five factor model theory is
conscientiousness which is the trait is used to describe an individual who is
dependable and attentive to their actions (King, 2016, pg. 477). These five traits are
referred to as the big five because they are general categories in which other similar
traits
26. Disenfranchisement In Elections Essay
Abraham Lincoln once stated, Elections belong to the people. It s their decision. If
they decide to turn their back on the fire and burn their behinds, then they will just
have to sit on their blisters. In fact, one should acknowledge the importance of
people coming out to vote in order to have a voice in the government. For this reason
electionsare a vital part of American Democracy. Likewise, elections also reflect
American values such as majority rule, due process of law, equality, and rule of law.
An election is a process in which people vote to choose leaders in the government.
United States elections are handled by state election boards and people are assigned
to supervise the election process. The states provide technology and resources ...

Disenfranchisement is when citizens are denied from voting. For instance, series of
laws and practices in the South deliberately prevented black citizens from registering
to vote and voting. Their actions were designed to frustrate the objective of the
Fifteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, ratified in 1870. This
amendment sought to protect the suffrage of freedmen after the American Civil War.
As a result, the Voting Right Act of 1965, was passed banning discriminatory
practices that interfered with the voting right of people of color. The 1965 voting
Right Act encouraged more African Americans to vote and run for elected office.
(Howe, Lisi 83) This equality promoted the ideal of evenness in treatment or status by
those in a position to affect either. Registered citizens or citizen 18yrs and over had
the right to equality in an election. The 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution
approved American women the right to vote, a right known as women s suffrage
while the 15th Amendment granted African American men the right to vote, this
brings us to the popular saying all men are equal created by God. Overall, it is
important to combat disenfranchisement so that all people will equally have the right
to vote in an
27. Values Of Christianity And Paganism In The Wanderer
Most scholars think The Wanderer first appeared as a piece of oral poetry during
the 5th or 6th century, a time when the Germanic Pagan culture of Anglo Saxon
England was undergoing a conversion to Christianity. It contains traces of both
traditional Germanic warrior culture and of a Christian value system. The speaker
for much of the poem is a warrior who has had to go into exile after the slaughter of
his lord and relatives in battle. Now, he contemplates what the experienceof the exile
teaches him about life.
For most of the poem, the speaker expresses traditional Germanic beliefs about
how a wise man should act, the inevitability of death, and mankind s inability to
change his fate. The poem is bookended, though, by the Christian idea of the
possibility of God s favor and grace, which the speaker holds up as the only
possible refuge from all the misery he witnesses. The relationship between fate in
Old English, wyrd and God s grace is not clear in the poem; the presence of both
might be evidence of The Wanderers position at the meeting point of Christianity and
Paganism.
The Wanderer is both a lament for all the things the speaker and people more
generally have lost, and also a reflection on what wise men learn from their life
experiences. With this dynamic duo, The Wanderer combines parts of two traditional
genres of Old English poetry: the elegy, or lament, and the wisdom poem. These two
genres aren t unrelated, since Anglo Saxon poets believed that

F. Scott Fitzgerald the great Gatsby has been one of the greatest literary works of
modernism. The tone of this movement was he American literature in the old days
and the present days. F. Scott Fitzgerald sets the great Gatsby in the jazz age to show
the decline in the 1920s, about how wealth does not bring happiness and those with
unrealistic dreams are unsuccessful and dishonestly can ruin relationships.
Through reading the book, it shows how the experience of selfness and World War

forget the past and build themselves back into their social class. Also by the
experience of Daisy and Jordan treatment from the men in the stories allows the
reader to see how time still hasn t changed how relationships work with men. This
novel is a great novel to give an example on how reality is to people even the high
class. Through the discussion of the passage will show how the path towards the
American Dream can turn into a negative or positive outcome in a person s life
The characters in the great Gatsby all share similar dreams as most of those dreams
does not always come true. Gatsby is a mysterious wealthy young man. Every

was born in North Dakota to a wealthy farming family. While serving in the Army
in World War I, Gatsby met Daisy who he fell in deep love with her. He worked

29. Henry Dumas Building On The Tradition
United Through Love and Family
Unit five dealt with building on The Tradition. This unit explains how building
resilience and self esteem was very important for the continued success of Afro
Americans from the 1970 s to present. Examples of such included writings from
Henry Dumas, Gwendolyn Brooks, and Journal of Negro Education.
Henry Dumas wrote a poem called Valentines . In this poem the relationship between
this couple showed resilience for the continued success of Afro Americans because
the person in this poem is stressing a love that shows empathy. He says Forgive me
if I have not sent you but I thought you knew that you already have my heart . He
also goes on to say Here take the space where my heart goes I give that to you too .
This last statement verifies the resilience that he has on the relationship. If the writer
of this poem had not applied resilience to his relationship this poem would have
ended in a separation, however this was not the case and the intended reader of the
poem felt suffice enough to continue on with the relationship. ... Show more content

those who were not of the superior white race. The beliefs of Martin Luther King

31. What Is The History Of Classical Music During The
Baroque...
The Baroque Period lasted from 1600 to 1750. This period is where studies of
classical music began. During this time period, artists would make their music as
intricate as possible to make it sound as elegant as possible. This was a great time
for royalty and nobility. The wealthiest households would hire musicians, but
depending on the household they might would have an entire orchestra. The
households would hire composers to compose songs for parties, balls, and
ceremonies. The church would also hire musicians, because of the general public s
love for music. (Craig) Oratorios were started in the Baroque Period. Oratorios are
sung, much like operas, except for they were about biblical stories. The only main
difference is that oratorios are unstaged performances. Oratorios were usually long
performances, lasting for several hours. Churches would normally have them for the
public. Churches would also have Cantatas. Cantatas were basically the same thing
as operas, but they were much shorter. They were usually as long as a church
service. (Craig) Instrumental music was still well loved during the Baroque Period.
Instrumental music was used for formal dances, like balls and parties. Suites were
also played; suites were made of different dance movements. The dance types are
allemande, bourree, courante, gavotte, gigue, minuet, sarabande, and waltz. The
music would normally have a constant beat and was often quite repetitive. (Craig)

32. Large Bathers
Art is always evolving with the people causing the styles and technique. In the 1900s
style of paintings started to change dramatically. The colors got brighter and the lines
became more curved, images started to become more abstract. This changed the
meaning of the paintings to be a more imaginative and creative. Cezanne and matisse
were to artists that painted in the 1900s and they changed with the times. The two
paintings The Large Bathers and The Joy of Life are different but also have some
similarities.
In The Large Bathers the colors are dark, they are sitting around a pond, and it is a
large group. Since the colors are very dark and cold it makes the people seem
distant. This makes the people go away from us and the blues to stand out. All of the
people are sitting around a pond washing cloths. This gives the image a focal point in
the center of the painting. It draws your attention to what the people are doing and
how they are interacting with each other. The emotions on the peoples faces are
very sad and not upbeat, they do not seem to be having fun and enjoying their time.

34. Fate Vs. Free Will
Ancient Greek Mythology has one side on fate vs free will. They feel as though
you have no ultimate choice and fate will always be your destiny. However, that
does not mean everyone follows their destined path until death. In Homer s The
Iliad, fate and destiny as the final outcomes of a person s life, however, at some
points you wonder if a person s destiny falls directly in the decisions made by
someone. Hektor and Achilles both had choices, but ultimately believed they must
follow their destiny. In Beowulf, fate generally pulls out in the deciding factor of
one s destiny. It is fate that makes the legend he is. He goes through every
challenge knowing that fate will be on his side. However, he showed free will when
he decided to help out Grendel. In Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, free will was
shown on a few occasions including Sir Gawain stepping up to play the game with
the Green Knight. He decided his life was not more important than King Arthur.
The Green Knight showed free will by not killing Sir Gawain when he was
supposed to. Le Morte d Arthur began driven by fate. Arthur was fated to become
king when he pulled that sword from the rock. Hamlet on the other hand does not
accept his own fate and wants to make his own decisions on life. In the Duchess of
Malfi, the Duchess breaks her fate path to be with someone she loved. Ferdinand, on
the other hand, was born being stuck with fate do to something wrong with his brain
that made him crazy. While some people believe

Supply Chain Concept
Introduction
In today s competitive business environment many firms face the arduous mission of
managing their supply chain. In an effort to gain competitive advantage, firms must
make key decision involving logistics and operations management to move products
and service across the supply chain. The materialization and attractiveness of the
Internet has made supply chain management more attainable for business enterprises.
Research shows that Internet derived technology has enabled companies to build and
deploy supply chain management systems to perform key business decisions
involving product flow and scheduling, process design and selection, product

In fact, Young (2001) also states, particular product categories may work better in
certain channels than in others. Clothing sells better for us online, while boot wear
works best in the catalog. So we would tailor our promotions accordingly.
The use of internal market research does not only facilitate in developing a
distribution strategy, but also assists the procurement, logistics, marketing, and
inventory departments to order, distribute, promote, and maintain the right products
to meet consumer demand.
EBusiness plays a key role in gathering information to allow firms to improve supply
chain processes that increases productivity and distribution of the right products to
the right place to meet the customer s needs.
The benefits of the Supply Chain to eBusiness
EBusiness is very beneficial in improving and maintaining product quality and
reducing cost. By using Internet technologies across the supply chain a firm can
determine the best ways to implement eBusiness strategies by analyzing business
processes throughout the entire organization. Schneider (2004, p. 230) illustrates that
Internet technologies provide suppliers with the following advantages in an
eBusiness environment:
В•Share information about customer demand fluctuations.
В•Receive rapid notification of product design
36. More Students are Stepping into the Collegiate World
Collegiate institutions in the United States are increasing their student pool
immensely each year as more and more students are taking the step into higher
education. Students are beginning to realize the importance that a college degree
holds in their future. In his book College: What It Was, Is, and Should Be, Andrew
Delbanco emphasizes what collegeholds for an attendee, and what the attendee should
intake, but also justifies the purpose of college concisely through elaborate
explanations regarding his reasoning. Higher educationin the United States is
becoming the means through which individuals are attaining the minimum
qualification for entry into the skilled labor market (Delbanco, 25), which is
otherwise known as a Bachelor s Degree. But to successfully graduate with a
Bachelor s degree, one must be admitted to college. More than often, however, college
applicants cannot get into the school that they desire to step forth into. Certain
aspects of their application do not surpass the qualifications that are held by the
school, such as standardized testscores. Standardized test scores should not decide
the next step for dedicated students, and should not limit their potential as successful
individuals, hence should not restrain the student from attaining a Bachelor s degree.
It has been clearly recognized that individuals with a BA degree can far surpass
those with solely a high school diploma, ...and there is abundant evidence that people

37. Magna Carta Essay
The Magna Carta, Latin for Great Paper , was written as a charter for England in
1215 (Magna 1). The Magna Carta has had the most significant influence on modern
day common law and constitutions. The document was originally written because of
disagreements between the Pope, King John, and his English barons over the rights
of the king. The Magna Cartarequired the king to renounce certain rights, and to
accept that the powers of the king could be bound by law (Asimov 12). There are a
few misconceptions about the Magna Carta, however. It was not the first document to
attempt to limit the power of the king. It, however, failed to limit the power of the
king, especially during the Middle Ages. The Magna Carta had been strengthened...

During the Tudor period, there was limited knowledge of the document, even by
those who wrote about it. In the statute books, it appeared that the Magna Carta
was brought about by King Henry III, rather than the reapplication of the original
charter. The Magna Carta was first used during the Tudor period as a Bill of
Rights. The church often attempted to use the first clause of the Magna Carter to
protect itself from attacks by King Henry, but its claims had no credibility (Asimov
55). The first person to attempt to use the Magna Carta was Francis Bacon, who
asserted that it guaranteed due process in a trial. At this time in English history, the
Magna Carta was used in common law. However, it was not seen as a set of
liberties guaranteed for the people against the Crown and government in general, but
as a normal statute which gave a certain level of liberties that could not be relied on,
especially against the king. Therefore, the Magna Carta had very little effect on
government in the early Tudor period because of the power the king retained, a
situation which lasted until the Elizabethan age. During the Elizabethan age, England
was becoming the most powerful force in Europe. Pride was becoming a primary
force in all areas of academics and attempts were made to prove that Parliament had
Roman origins. The Magna Carta was interpreted as an

Captive animals are abused and exploited in a variety of settings, including research

not letting them live in their natural habitats and roam free. Captive animals are are

behavior over time, the intensity changes. When the animal initially begins the
pacing, they may be easily distracted by sights or sounds. However, after some period
of time, the animal may appear in a trance, unable to break their pace or gaze. This is
what we so often see in zoos the apparent detachment from their environment (Di
Lamont). This fact is stating how captivity could affect animals mental health very
strongly. Also, Zoos, contrary to what many people believe, often cause great
suffering and stress to the captive animals. Animals in zoos are caged for life and
deprived of the opportunity to develop and fulfill the full range of their interests
and needs. They lose control over their lives and the environment they live in. Social
animals are often forced to live in the misery of solitary confinement. Animals who
would prefer to live alone are often forced into close contact with others ( Zoos ).

39. Feudal Society In Medieval Europe
A feudal society is one in which the lords carry a significant measure of power by
owning land. Workers known as Serfs are included on the land. Serfs owe the lord
a certain amount of labor as well as give the lord a portion of their goods. The lords
then gives protection to the serfs from their knights. To get knights, the lord offers a
fief(land) to the knight in exchange for military service. A feudal society had the
characteristic of being decentralized. It also had major roles and responsibilities that
everyone needed to follow in order to keep the society intact. During the early
Middle Ages, decentralized governments, attacks from the Vikings and other
barbarians, and the strong power of the Church strongly abetted the formation of the
feudal society in Medieval Europe.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When a government system is decentralized, then it may lack a strong military and
infrastructure. After the fall of Charlemagne s empire, his society required a lot of
strong lords with powerful armies to protect the people because there was no strong
centralized government. This led to feudalism because the people were in need of
protection and had no strong centralized government to make a strong army. The
feudal society consisted of a decentralized government and had a strong army.
Another factor that led to the development of feudal societies, were the attacks from
the Vikings and other barbarians. Because The Vikings were so fierce and quick
when they attacked, it made them almost indefensible and very difficult to fight.
When Charlemagne s empire fell, it suffered many attacks from The Vikings that
gradually weakened their government. Feudalism allowed for protection of everyone
and people did not need to rely on a strong, centralized
40. The Myth Of The Old Testament
The Old Testament generally presents a familial narrative in which the whole
human race descends from one family. This unfolds itself and then focuses in on
Abraham, from whom the line of inheritance is drawn to Israel. The Israelites are
distinctly filled with flaws throughout their history. Whereas Rome as noble stories
of war and triumph, Israel has stories of Old Men wandering the desert. Their
ancestors and heroic figures are not demigods nor epic heros, but merely wandering
men of faith, Patriarchs sold into slavery, and sheep herders. Godforges His chosen
people from the outcasts of humanity. In forging a people of His own, God is named
their Father. He is called such in the Old Testamentin two distinct ways. First, as
specifically the God of Israel. Second, The Father of Israel s king. Explicit notions
of God as the Father of Israel number nine, while He is mentioned as the Father of
the King five times. There are many times in which Israel is called the son of, or the
Israelitesare called the children of, God. The narrative that unfolds with God as the
Father of a Nation and their King is especially vital to understanding the Old
Testament. The Old Testament s explicit mention of God as the Father of Israel come
especially in Deuteronomy, the Psalms, and the Prophets. He is pictured as forming,
protecting, guiding, providing, offering covenants, giving inheritance, and restoring.
The foundational moment of this is found in the book of Deuteronomy.

plan for Philadelphia to have five areas of park like land. Then James Oglethorpe
had an idea in 1733 for Savannah. He established a system, where neighborhoods
were revolved around a square (Schuyler, 2015). The first recorded urban park was
Fairmount Gardens. It was created in 1812, in Philadelphia when they constructed
their waterworks. The park first started off at five acres, surrounding the
waterworks. The park had become so popular that in 1828 they expanded it to
twenty eight acres. In 1850, Lemon Hill and Sedgley estates were added to
Fairmount, which made the popularity of the park increase. People thought the
park site was chosen because of the class of people that lived there, but that was not
the case. The land was chosen because it was too elevated. Since the land was so
elevated that made it too hard to build and expensive to build anything there or to
build roads on that kind of land (Schuyler, 2015). Parks then became very popular in
cities. William Cullen Bryant and Andrew Jackson Downing became the faces

Juvenile courts also need to be established either as separate units or as part of
existing regional or district courts, for specialized services. States should establish a
child sensitive environment to promote friendly communication and to draw the child
into the process/proceeding more effectively as an active participant. And states are
recommended to appoint specialized judges or magistrates to deal with juvenile case.
Article 40(3) of the CRC recommends the establishment and development of child
specific laws, procedures, regulations, and guidelines, codes of practice, authorities
and institutions applicable for children. As a result, states legislation should provide
specialized children s units, which is comprehended with the special units of police,
prosecutor s office, court administration, social services and probation

Paperclips. Usually, they hold paper together, but not in Linda Kimble s case.
Hurricane Katrina left her and many others in Monroe, Louisiana homeless. I was
still in New Orleans when Katrina hit, recants Linda. I was in a hotel with other
evacuees downtown and the wind kept slamming a door. Fortunately, they could find
safety at the Red Cross run shelter in Monroe. Paperclips is the introduction to all of
this because that s the nickname hurricane survivors gave to the volunteers at the
shelter. The Paperclips worked with hurricane survivors to provide daily support and
to help survivors orient themselves with their surroundings. Linda draws together the

With such a high number of volunteers, it becomes difficult to train and teach them
all, possibly leading to such problems involving loss of quality control with collecting
and transferring blood. Unfortunately, the solution to the next problem is more
volunteers. Perhaps the issue with which the ARC fails the most is resolving their
work force, specifically volunteers. The way the ARC handled disaster relief after
Hurricane Katrina, clarifies their shortcomings. After the land fall of Katrina, the
ARC mobilized 170,000+ relief workers and had gathered 2,000 volunteers before
Katrina even hit. They opened 1,470 shelters and registered 3.8 million overnight
stays. Yet, these statistics are not as pristine as one might think. Several complaints
were voiced about various, mostly busy ARC phone lines, inadequate assistance, or
assistance that came too late, and survivors unable to find ARC relief stations due to
hard to reach locations. More criticisms alleged poor communications and
bureaucratic issues. The ARC acknowledged all these problems saying they simply
were not prepared to deal with such a large disaster, and, therefore, the complexity of
the relief tasks was unprecedented, and they needed a lot more volunteers than they
thought. Not that this was too much of a problem, they received an numbers of
Americans who wanted to volunteer. Soon enough, they were processing over 35,000
claims a day. But this mass

45. Invasion Of D-Day Normandy
June 6th 1944 will be the most important invasion of world war two. The invasion
of Normandy, France was the turning point of world war two. In the invasion of D
Day over 425,000 Allied and German troops were either killed or wounded. An
examination of primary and secondary sources will reveal the historical importance
of this event. There was many countries involved in world war two. D Day had
involved the countries The United States, France, Great Britain, Germany and
Canada(Hine 11 25). June 6th 1944 president Franklin D. Rooseveltordered General
Dwight D. Eisenhowera go for operation overlord. Operation overload also known as
the invasion of Normandy, France (Hine, 24). General Dwight D. Eisenhower and the
allies planned to attack by... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For the invasion of Normandy, France the beaches were separated into five
sections. The United States held two sections on the beach code named Omaha
Beach, and Utah Beach, while Great Britain, France, and Canada the other three
sections of the beach. These beaches code names were Gold Beach, Juno Beach,
and Sword Beach (Groff, 294). Many French, British, Canadian, and American
soldiers died before even reach the beaches of Normandy. German machine guns
and artillery were mowing down allied soldiers, many generals died in the landing
so lower ranking official such as privates had to step up just to rally the soldiers
together for an advance to the shores (Capa, 294). Any kind of artillery fire fired by
the allies during the invasion did not hit and was very unsuccessful in the invasion
because it was really foggy and wanted to be cautious and not fire upon any of their
own men which resulted in the artillery not helping at all during the invasion.
Another setback for the invasion was the strong ocean tides. The strong tides of the
Atlantic Ocean pushed the Allied landing boats and supply ships far off course from
there landing point (Gibbs, 20). Many infantry men began to take cover behind
sunken friendly landing boats, random
46. The Protestant Reformation In The German Reformer And
The...
In the 16th century, the Protestant Reformation, introduced by German reformer,
Martin Luther, brought forth religious, cultural, and political turmoil that shattered
Catholicism in Europe. This research paper is an analysis of the Protestant
Reformation in its connection to being one of the most impactful moments in history
that would inspire individuals to rebel against a corrupt regime. Understanding how
the actions of one man, like Martin Luther, can inspire a great rebellion against a
large force like the Catholic Churchby questioning its ways and weakening its rule of
absolute power sparked my interest. The realization of flaws within the Catholic
Church by the public encouraged the Church into making their own improvements
for the greater good and created a movement within England s kingdom. The
introduction of this movement to others regarding these issues also helped to pave
the way for a new generation of rulers and religious ideas. With these changes being
implemented into the Church due to the questioning of their authority, the series of
events that followed transformed early Europe for the years to come. During the
tenth century, all power both politically and religiously was governed by the Roman
Catholic Church throughout Western and Northern Europe. The Catholic Church had
very corrupt leaders, and many patronized their extravagant lifestyle. The Old
Church believed the people were true Catholics if they participated both in mass and
did works of mercy

Nancy Mitchell is owner of the Etiquette Advocate, a firm that provides etiquette and
protocol training. She has composed sixteen video segments that provide an extensive
overview of dining etiquette. The first video begins with an introduction and the
remaining fifteen videos cover everything from the invitation and RSVP to the
toasting rules with proper dining etiquette mixed in between. Each video was very
informative, but some information was just common sense no no s, such as taking
medication, picking your teeth, and applying lipstick while seated at the table. I
learned details from each presentation including the introductory. In the introduction
Ms. Mitchell describes her firm in Washington, DC as an organization that provides...

This is done many times throughout the meal. In European style cuts are still made
one at a time but the fork stays in the left hand and the knife stays in the right. Taking
a drink or getting a bite of bread would be the only time the utensils would need to
be put down while dining European style. Soup is dipped from a 12 o clock
position, drug across the rim, and brought to the mouth to sip from the edge of the
soup spoon. Between bites the soup spoon can be left in a shallow bowl called a
soup plate, but should be placed on the liner if the soup is served in a bowl or cup.
When finished with the main course the utensils should be placed in a 10:20 clock
position on the plate. In American style dining the knife and fork are close
together and parallel, with the tines of the fork up and in the European style the
fork tines face down. If a salad course was served and the salad knife was not used it
should still be placed on the salad plate when finished. At no time should a used
utensil be placed back on the table.
The two styles do share the same place setting and the grip of the utensils. Spoons
are held as you would grip a pencil. When a knife is being used to make cuts it
should be held with the index finger placed in the jointed area where the handle of
the knife meets the knife blade. The exception to this rule is the fish knife. It is
48. Analysis Of The Article The Body Paragraphs
After first reviewing the article, it came to the reader s attention that Neltner was
providing the stronger argument. Neltner believed that smarter investments and
stricter oversight were the key to providing safe drinking water to the public. When
speaking to the reader in the introduction, he used a first person point of view to
attract the reader s attention. For example, the word we was used to make the reader
feel involved in the subject. A similar method was utilized in the conclusion to
remind the reader that they were included in this discussion. In the body paragraphs,
the same method was used in a similar way. The writer deviated to third person point
of view instead of first. This was intended to cause the argument to... Show more

He was not clear with his argument. Therefore, his redirect is lacking. Neltner
leaves the reader guessing because the concession is incomplete in the text. He
does not state what needs to be done to improve the drinking water. The redirect
needs to be expressed in a better way to justify federal funding. It is also tied to the
concession which makes it come off as an ambiguous phrase. The why from the
concession is missing because of this. Neltner s reasoning also comes off as a
potential deceptive statistic which makes also makes it an ambiguous phrase. The
reader is not sure whether there is a mean, median, or mode because the statement
is not in depth making it appear to be deceptive. Of the two men debating this
issue, Neltner is the more qualified individual. In this text he uses himself as an
expert opinion because he is a qualified individual. This appears to exhibit a strength
because he is knowledgeable in the subject. However, that is not the case. He uses
himself as the expert opinion, which causes him to not express the value in this value
assumption. Despite the fact that he knows what he is talking about, Neltner does
not express what doing enough is in this article. He talks about how the government
could do more, but he does not express what could be done. Moore s argument has
more weaknesses than strengths. He starts off by using first person point of view in
the plural form to transition. But, he does not use them in the
