Grant is very strict towards his students. Grant then thinks about his teacher when he was a child,
Matthew Antoine, describes him to us, tells about his influence, and what they talked about.
Next, Grant goes with Miss Emma to visit Jefferson in his cell, but when they talk to him, he
doesn t acknowledge that they are their and is difficult to them. During Grant s next visit,
Jefferson acts like a hog and is infatuated with the idea that he is one. Grant wants to leave town

of their future children and talk to Miss Emma and Tante Lou. The visits to the jail continue and

My Experience With Technology
My Experience with Technology I am going to tell you some my experiences with technology
from my past and how it will lead to my future. One of my experiences includes taking a Video
Cassette Recorder (VCR) apart when I was younger. Another is when I built my first computer
and the consequences that followed when I did that. So why did I take VCR player apart when
I was younger? The reason is that I was curious, like boys are at that age, and I wanted to know
how the VCR player worked. Therefore, I did what any other 10 year old boys would do in my
shoes, I found a screwdriver, and I started taking apart the player. Taking it apart was easy, but
putting it back together proved to be a little more difficult than I had originally thought it would
be. I tried hard to put it back together, unfortunately, I didn t to have the required skills at the time
to reassemble the VCR so in the trash it went. This VCR was not the only thing to be taken apart
and not reassembled. I must have taken apart a least half of a dozens of them in addition to a
DVD player or two. I took apart pretty much anything that was not bolted to the floor. To be fair,
most of them were broken and were junk anyways, so me taking them apart didn t mean I was out
of control or anything. My parents saw it was a learning experience. My grandfather, on the other
hand, told me when I was not allowed to touch any electronic devices in his house with a
screwdriver, which I obeyed, most of the time.

Theme Of Vengeance In The Oresteia
Orestes has to kill her (Zeitlin, 476). The view of vengeance in Aeschylus s The Oresteia also
depends on the situation the person enacting the vengeance is in beforehand.
Another component that changes the view of vengeance is what situation the character is in;
meaning how the murderer is related to the victim and the position they are in at the time or before.
Clytemnestra is in a situation where her husband kills their daughter and she can either retaliate or
live with the fact that Iphigenia is dead. She chooses to kill her husband and she does not have any
support other than that of Aegisthus. Orestes is basically forced into killing his mother and
Aegisthus by Apollo and people around him like his sister Electra and the Chorus as well as his
friend Pylades. In the beginning of Liberation Bearers, Orestes comes back and encounters his
sister Electra at their father s grave. During their reacquaintance, Orestes tells Electra that he has
been ordered to kill Clytemnestra and Aegisthus by Apollo, ...if I failed to kill my father s
killers.......to kill the two of them as they killed him, in the same way. He said that otherwise I d
pay the debt with my own life, and it would be a life of torment that would never end (Aeschylus,
Liberation Bearers lines 307 313). He has this threat hanging over his head and any time he
starts to waver, his friend Pylades, his sister, and the chorus encouraged him. the third and last
storm battering their house. In the end, Orestes does in fact come third and as a saviour. Before
entering the palace he rehearses the piece of deceit by which he wraps his mother and Aegisthus
in their own toils. As he puts it before his sister and the confederate chorus of Trojan captives, he
will not give Aegisthus time to ask from where he has come , this shows that he has a lot of
support behind him in this endeavor in addition to the support of Apollo (Clay, 4). After he kills
his mother and her lover, he has to wash his hands of the blood and, to be cured, he must journey
to the oracle of Delphi (Burke, 382). Orestes kills his mother, subsequently he begins to see the
furies that are coming after him (Burke, 382).
The Furies that are now pursuing him punish blood guilt (Burke, 382)

The Importance Of German Culture
What was Richard Wagner s explanation of German nature or the inherent sense of what defines
a true German? Again, according to Wagner, why was the Jew an alien? What specific examples
does he use to make his point? Wagner says Jews could not be part of the European community or
participate in its culture because they were unable to speak properly language of their adopted
countries, and the language was the soul of the nation (Dwork15). Using the proper speaking terms
of their language was very important to their culture/beliefs. If you could not accomplish this then
you were insulting the Germans. Wilhelm Marr, was a German follower of Wagner and said the
Jewscould never become German because they would never be able to speak proper German
(Dwork15).
Their original tongue was a Semitic language; therefore those who opposed Jews because they
defiled and infringe upon German culture rights and should identify themselves proudly as anti
Semites (Dwork16). Wagner denies Jews of true creativity (ORT). He says a Jewish artist can
only speak in imitation of others, make art imitation of others; he cannot really speak, write, or
create art on his own (ORT). When Wagner is asked what a German is, he response back culture,
not economy, that s the core of German identity. The Jews manipulation of the language and art
was infinitely more pernicious than his control over money ever has been (Dwork26). Wagner says
the Jew had bought the German soul with his trade in works of culture

The Ncaa s Policy On Amateurism
The NCAA s policy on amateurism has been around since the creation of the NCAA by Theodore
Roosevelt. This policy was created to prevent teams from hiring ringers to play in games and to
limit point shaving/corruption in collegiate sports. Currently, prospective student athletes have to
be certified as an amateur by the NCAA Clearinghouse in order to compete in any competitions.
Over the last decade, there has been an increase in the National Collegiate Athletic Associationor
NCAA s policy on Amateurism. As previously stated, this policy has been around since the
creation of the NCAA, but the elements of the policy are almost the same. According to the
NCAA Manual, a student athlete is considered an amateur if they have not: signed a contract
with a professional team, received payment for participating in athletics, played with
professionals, received benefits from an agent or prospective agent, or agreed to be represented
by an agent (NCAA, 2015). The main reason why amateurism has been such a hot topic is the
lawsuit by Ed O Bannon and others against the NCAA and its licensing partner. This lawsuit was
based on the fact that the NCAA, EA Sports, and the NCAA s licensing partner for using his (Ed
O Bannon) likeness and image for video games without compensating him (Sievert, 2015; Tracy
and Strauss, 2015). This lawsuit was started because Ed O Bannon, a former UCLA basketball
player, noticed that the NCAA was using classic teams, including the 1996 UCLA team that he

Reflection Paper About Sex
1)Loving your body and yourself
Someone can only love you if you love yourself. This class made me retake drawing. One exercise
presented in class was to do someone you are good at to help build confidence. I loved drawing
portrait but for some reason I stopped once I started dating my boyfriend of 3 years. I now starting
to bring that hobbies back up and its making me love myself stronger again. In one of our NPR,

but I constantly think I am not skinny enough, which is disappointing. I decided to unfollow the
girls that made me insecure online on apps such as Instagram and twitter. I follow more body
positive accounts. I found a love for fitness and health and I decided I want to feel better rather
than look skinner. It made a world of difference being in the class and learning that loving yourself
was not as hard as I expected.
2)Understanding sexual activity through the years
This topic took me by surprise. I don t live with older adults, only my parents. I have never had a
grandmother to talk to so I just never thought of the idea of growing old with someone. Research
from NSSHB 2010, shows that people between the ages of 18 29 have sex on average of 112
times per year, while adults 40 49 have sex around 69 times a year. This study shows that 3 percent
of married women reported that they had never had sex in the past year. I find this information
important because lowering of

This shows that Dail was being suspected of breaking into the apartment, and stealing from the

Taking a Look at the Human Eye
The human eye is an organ that reacts to light and has several purposes. As a conscious sense
organ, the eye allows vision. Rods and cones in the retina allow light perception and vision
including color differentiation and the conscious perception of depth. The human eye can
distinguish 10 million colors. The eyeis composed of three layers, enclosing three transparent
structures .
The outer layer , called the fibrous tunic is comprised of the cornea and sclera . The middle layer
, called the vascular tunic or uvea is the choroid , ciliary body and the iris. The innermost part of
the eye is the retina , which gets its circulation from the vessels of the choroid and retinal vessels ,
which can be seen in an ophthalmoscope .
The blood vessels can be seen in the sclera , and a strong ring around the iris limbo . Within these
coats are the aqueous humor , vitreous humor and the flexible lens . The aqueous humor is a clear
fluid that is contained in two areas: the anterior chamber between the cornea and the iris and the
posterior chamber between the iris and lens.
The lens is suspended in the ciliary body in the suspensory ligament , composed of transparent
fibers . The vitreous is a clear gel that is larger than the aqueous humor is behind the lens , and the
rest is enclosed by the sclera , zonule , and lens. They are connected by the pupil .
As the eyes of other mammals, the ganglion cells of the human eye is not sensitive image forming

How Does The Outsiders Describe Johnny
Johnny Cade literally is the main character in the book, The Outsiders in a subtle way. He for the
most part is described as a puppy that s been actually kicked too sort of many times. Even though
he particularly is only sixteen, Johnny definitely has been scared by the Socs to the point of
carrying a switchblade in his pocket in a big way. One of Johnny s inspirations for all intents and
purposes is Dallas Winston and his ability to definitely get through life without family or parents.
He is happy when Dally tells him he is proud of Johnny right before he dies, which mostly is
fairly significant. Brave is used to describe Johnny due to the fact he protected himself and
ponyboy when a group of Socs literally tried to attack them in a subtle way. Also, Johnny spared
his life to help the kids out of the burning church resulting in fatal burns on his face and generally
safe kids in a subtle way. Earlier in the story, Johnny stands up to his idol asking him to stop
harassing the girls they literally met at the movies. Bravery can also be used to describe how

Coping Mechanism of Families with Autistic Children
CHAPTER 1
The Problem and Its Background
Introduction
Autism is a pervasive developmental disorder that affects the brain s development of social and
communication skills and said to be a behaviorally defined condition. (www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov) a
person with autism has to deal with great consequences due to the different adjustments they have
to follow. Along with the stress felt by the autistic person, their families are the ones who should
handle the responsibilities in raising their autistic children. Since they have to raise the children
with a disability, a big burden corresponds to the adjustment they have to initiate to their autistic
child and for the whole family as well. Their responsibility is even more difficult since there are ...

With these two principles constantly followed, the family functions well and accordingly and
benefits the whole family and each member. But raising a child with autism can create great
emotional stress and can fully affect the family s system and interaction because of the problems
related to autism. For the family to form their organized family life cycle they must go through
different adjustments and adaptation for the family s development, applying the third principle that
says that any system functions as an organized whole.
Research Paradigm
Raising a child who has been diagnosed with autism can be a very challenging role for any
family. Since they are the ones who are primarily responsible for dealing with the needs of the
child with a disability, they also have to deal with great stress regarding the autistic child. The
presence of a child with a disability may involve some difficult adjustments for the rest of the
family.
Different effects are implied to the whole family, changes in family roles are highly affected and
because of this they have to reorganize the family s functioning and activities. Autism affects the

Essay about The NRA Killed Gun Control Legislation
The NRA Killed Gun Control Legislation
By the year 2003, it is expected that firearms will cause the most injury related deaths in the United
States, surpassing even automobile accidents. Poll after poll have revealed that most Americans
favor stricter gun control laws. Five recent suburban school shootings have demonstrated that when
guns and kids mix, tragedy results. Yet guncontrol legislation remains at a standstill.
The battle for stricter gun control laws has not been without victories. In 1968, Congress passed the
Gun Control Act in the wake of the assassinations of Martin Luther King, Jr., President John F.
Kennedy, and Senator Robert Kennedy. The law mandated stricter licensing requirements,

However, the thrill of the above victories could not prevent the agony of defeat that the country
faced between October 1997 and June 1998. There were five suburban school shootings in that
time, in Pearl Mississippi, West Paducah, Kentucky; Jonesboro, Arkansa;, Edinboro, Pennsylvania;
and Springfield, Oregon. This unspeakable violence left sixteen dead, including eleven children
and teenagers. The shooters ranged in age from 11 to 16 years old.
Although no one can explain the why of these tragedies, recent statistics give insight into the how
: A 1990 Centers for Disease Control (CDC) survey found that one in twenty high school students
had carried a gun in the past month, while a 1994 Harris poll found that only one in five students
would tell a teacher if he or she knew that another student was bringing weapons to school. Where
do these kids get their guns? The Harris poll found that only 43% of parents of minors keep their
guns safely locked, which means that an estimated 1.2 million latchkey elementary school students
can access the guns kept in their houses. The consequences of the latter statistic were brutally
obvious in Jonesboro, when sixth grader Andrew Golden and eighth grader Mitchell Johnson
opened fire on a crowd of students with guns taken from a glass

Description of All Four Feministic Theories
In chapter twelve of the textbook titled The Moral of the Story we are faced with theories of
feminism that we encounter on an everyday basis. The issue on feminism is one that has been
fought for by both men and woman for many years and yet still seems to be an ongoing battle to
achieve full gender equality. I personally feel that genderequality is important in this world because
I for myself have met women in my life who I not only look up to but who have also inspired me to
keep moving forward in my journey of life. In this paper I will describe all four feministic theories
as well as to why I support feminismas a whole. I will also compare the similarities as well as
differences of these theories as well as to which theory I tend to see more of on a day to day basis.
First we are encountered with the theory of Classical Feminism. This theory is also referred to
as Liberal Feminism which implies that all men and woman are to be regarded as persons first
and gendered beings second (Rosenstand, 625). It is in classical feminism where we are
introduced to another type of gender, which is referred to as Androgyny. This new gender category
is one that is considered to be a combination of both feminine and masculine characteristics and is
achieved through cultural changes rather than biological differences (Rosenstand, 627). Simone de
Beauvoir believed that a man was considered a typical human being while women were viewed as
atypical (Rosenstand, 627). Beauvoir believed

Julius Caesar s Weaknesses
All humans struggle with a constant contradiction with their personality traits. Every person has
vast areas of strengths and weaknesses. Shakespeare explores this in his play, The Tragedy of

though is presented as a god like figure to the Roman people. Julius Caesaris seen as an almighty
general, who defeated the great Pompey. For this, the Roman people rejoice in him. Although
Caesar seems to be almost godlike in his actions and demeanor, Julius Caesar s personality traits

him like you better not be doing magic or something like that and he stopped and looked away,
then he said a couple magic words waving his wand but the magic directed to a little person
thingy behind and under him, turning it smaller. I kept thinking either give me wings to fly away
or make me really tiny so I can run and hide fast and they (the guards) can t get me . And he knew.

As a dancer
Concurrent with his singing career, Michael also trademarked some his unique dance moves
accompanied by some of his songs like Billie Jeans and Ghosts . Though I am not a dancer, I am
absolutely awed by his dance moves such as the moonwalk, circle slide, the pelvic thrust and the
spin, all of which serves as a trademark icon to him. No doubt, many dancers all over the world
had been greatly inspired by Michael as with the many singers and musicians.
E.g. Moonwalk, Circle slide, Pelvic Thrust, The Spin
3. As a Humanitarian
No doubt as a well accomplished entertainer, however, Michael s effort as a humanitarian seems to
be relatively unknown to the public at large. His contribution and efforts in supporting good causes
earned him Guisness world record for the most charity supported by a pop singer.
Some of these efforts include
Setting up the Heal the World Foundation which aims at providing medicine for children and
fighting world hunger, drug and alcohol abuse, and child abuse
Michael supported the efforts of the NAACP, to fight prejudice against black artists.
Raised $3.3 million dollars during Michael Jackson and Friends concerts in Korea and Germany
for the humanitarian agencies UNESCO , Nelson Mandela s Children s Fund and the International

Modern Day Zombies

The Impact Of Retail Industry On The Retail Sector
I. Introduction The retail sector plays a pivotal role in the development of UK economy,
contributing ВЈ180 billion to GDP in 2014, 11% of the total. This industry employed about 4.4
million people in 2014, 15.8% of the UK labour, becoming the largest broad industrial group by
the quantity and proportion of employees. 539,000 enterprises operating in the retail industry in
the UK makes account for 10.3% of all UK businesses. Therefore, the failure of retail companies
can lead to adverse impact on not only shareholders, employees but also the whole economy.
Those are the reasons why the UK government has focused on the development of this industry
and also made an effort to prevent the bankruptcy in the retail sector. Figure 1. % change on the
previous year of economic output in retail sector and whole economy According to Niemira
(1996), retail industry tends to be more vulnerable to the ups and downs of the economy than
other industries. To illustrate by Figure 1, in 2007, the retail sector grew faster than the UK
economy. Nevertheless, when the recession began in late 2007, a quicker and deeper decline than
the whole economy could be seen. At the bottom in Q2 2009, output from the retail industry
dropped by 9.3% compared with 2008 while the output from the whole economy decreased by
5.8% in that quarter (Rhodes, 2014) The history witnessed many notable bankruptcy cases in the
retail industry including Montgomery Ward, Macy s, Zale, Brooks Fashion, Revco, Hooker and Dart

Side Effects Of Stroke
Stroke can be a devastating medical condition of the brain and body. This common form of
cerebrovascular disease can manifest in different ways, and can cause quite a few adverse side
effects. The onset of a stroke can take years to develop or can come on very quickly without
warning.
A stroke is the loss of some or all of the blood supply to the brain that causes the brain s
functionality to be hindered or diminished. According to cdc.gov there are about 795,000 stroke
victims a year and 130,000 of thoughts victims that died. The risk of having a stroke goes up

Coagulation necrosis refers to a process in which individual cells die among living neighbor cells
without eliciting an inflammatory response. This type of cell death is attributed to the effects of
physical, chemical, or osmotic damage to the plasma membrane.
In CN, the cell initially swells, then shrinks and undergoes pyknosis a term used to describe
marked nuclear chromatin condensation. This process evolves over 6 to 12 hours. By 24 hours
extensive chromatolysis occurs resulting in pan necrosis. Astrocytes swell and fragment, myelin
sheaths degenerate. Irreversible cellular injury as demonstrated by eosinophilic cytoplasm and
shrunken nuclei are seen between 8 to 12 hours after arterial occlusion. The morphology of dying
cells in coagulation necrosis is different than that of cell death due to apoptosis. (shah, 2003)
A stroke is a well known and studied disease. There are many causes that are hard to recognize

Biography of Bob Marley Bob Marley was known for his accomplishment in the revolution of

By the end of the 1960 s, with the legendary reggae producer Lee Scratch Perry at the mixing
desk, The Wailers were again back at the top in Jamaica. The combination of the Wailers and
Perry resulted in some of the finest music the band ever made. Tracks like Soul Rebel, Duppy
Conquerer, 400 Years, and Small Axe were not only classics, but they defined the future direction
of reggae.(Bob Marley Bio) It s difficult to properly understand Bob Marley s music without
considering Rastafari. His spiritual beliefs are too well known to necessitate further
explanation. It must be stated, however, that Rastafari is at the very center of the Wailers
music. His music and lyrics worked as the rhetoric of the Rastafarian movement against
oppression, exploitation and racism in Jamaica. Using metaphors to describe the hardships of
the political fights of Jamaicans and Africans Marley established himself as the spokesman of a
race and culture. The Rastafari religion, the heart of Bob s music, based itself in belief of Jah,
which was a metaphor for a god of goodness and love. Jah was the force fighting against the
oppression from Babylon, the destructive force.(Hot shot rock tributes) Metaphors of oppression
and freedom, such as chains and birds, depict social problems and ways of liberation (Jensen).

New research on consumer experiences also emphasizes the importance of embodiment. Pham et al.
(2001), for instance, state that consumer assessments are often based on both feelings and reason
and that one or the other becomes more prominent depending on the context. They argue that
feelings play a central role in consumer decision making and merit serious investigation, which, for
this study, means that intertwining mind and body is crucial for creating an unforgettable
consumer experience. The effort afoot to restore embodied realism to social scientific inquiry
(Johnson 1999; Lakoff and Johnson 1999) has generated some of the most exciting research into
consumer behavior. In this article, we address the links between embodiment and consumer

we revisit Kant s question in order to explore art museum experiences the simultaneity with which

What Is Jaw Clicking Essay
Jaw Clicking and Pain: Not A Okay
What do talking, laughing, eating and yawning have in common? They are all activities that
involve opening and closing the mouth. Most people take these activities for granted they are part
of everyday life, after all. We do these activities day in and day out, so what s the big deal?
People who suffer from a clicking jaw that is sometimes accompanied by pain know exactly what
the deal is, because they cannot enjoy the above mentioned activities without hearing their jaw
click, pop or even crack. And it gets worse, no thanks to the pain.
Is this normal?
Jaw clicking can be bothersome, but some individuals have learned to live with their condition.
If you are experiencing jaw clicking, we strongly urge you to consult your dentist, especially if
you feel pain. No matter how much you have adjusted (if you have adjusted at all) to the never
ending cracking and popping sound ever single time you open (and close) your mouth, jaw
clicking is never normal. In fact, jaw clicking is a symptom of a problem with the joints of the jaw
or TMJ.
The TMJ
TMJ stands for temporomandibular joint, of which every person has a pair. These joints serve as a
connection between the temporal bones (located at the bottom and the side of the skull) and the

A big percentage of these disorders have something to do with the muscles near the TMJ. These
muscles contain sensory nerves, which deliver messages to the brain; if you experience pain in

chewing. These muscles are located between the gums and the teeth, and are responsible for the
opening and closing of the mouth. Because they are used very often, they can experience fatigue,
especially if the person tends to clench his jaw, grind his teeth or chew excessively (gum chewing,

you made a discovery, you could make al lot of money off of the discovery. Finally country was
also a great factor in the European exploration because when an explorer brought something back

land and resources each country was discovering. Constantly the two were at each others necks
trying to see who would discover more land. Finally in 1943, pope Alexander VI wanted to

Hip Hop Masculinity
Connecting Masculinity to Hip Hop as an entire movement Hip Hop originated in the 1970 s, and
during that period the genre was known as a means through which African Americans could speak
their minds and state their opinions and concerns about important issues in their communities and
society. However hip hop has immensely changed since its creation to what it is now, as a result
of its profit oriented nature. Even though a few aspects of the original old school hip hop are still
recognized and practiced in today s mainstream rap, the genre as a whole has come to be known
for revolving around the common themes of violence, drug use, promiscuity, fashion, and
materialism. In reality, today s mainstream hip hop is based on the beliefs of what... Show more

Female MC s accept a variety of different fashion trends and masculine mannerisms in hip hop,
whether it s the hyper sexuality in their lyrics or music videos or they are taking on masculine
personas. Female MC s like Da Brat are known for their more masculine appearances. Typically,
other female MC s often take the other route. The success rate of music in the hip hop industry
has been proven to tie into hyper sexualized images and female MC s are forced to comply with
the sexism of the genre. These women do this by referring to themselves and other women as
bitches , and hoes along with explicitly talking about sexual acts and fantasies. However, most
of these sexual fantasies are in the male s perspective. Female MC s also give in to the
superficial beliefs of the genre. For example, rapper Nicki Minaj collaborated with Drake in the
song Up all Night, where she bragged, I make the kind of money that make a broke bitch
bitter...Which bitch you know made a million off a mixtape? That was just a keepsake. Bought the

almost dying, losing his son, and being left behind by his own men. In the end a Native

The movie also has merit because of the emotion that is displayed by the main characters during
their long and difficult journey throughout the movie. Overall, The Revenant was an emotional and
suspenseful journey through Hugh Glass s struggles as an American Frontiersman.
The connection to American culture is strong in this movie because of its setting and the
characters involved. The setting is in South Dakota and Montana. The time period is the winter
of 1823, a popular time for the American Frontier. Many of the scenes in the movie show
extreme cold and lots of snow. For example, when Hugh Glass is wounded and running from an
Indian Tribe on a horse, he jumps off a cliff with the horse. He then precedes to open the horse
and gut it. Then he goes inside of the horse and falls asleep. This horse s bodies saved him from
the hearse cold that ended up freezing the whole outside of the horse. To film this obscene cold, the
movie was actually filmed in Calgary and Alberta, Canada because their is more frontier like land
up north in less developed and less traveled land. Watching the movie, there was no distinctive

Math Analysis On The Classroom
It was eight fifty five when I entered the lobby of Drexel Plaza to go to my class: Introduction to
Math Analysis 101. I walked to classroom fifteen not expecting anything. I never expect
anything anyway in an easy math class required for all nursing students. It may have also been
because I am a confirmed nerd. In the school setting, people are divided into groups or
categories. Students are characterized by a specific characteristic that defines them into a
subgroup of school identity and status. There is the nerd group, the geek squad, the jocks, the
dramatics, the clown, the teacher s pet and the list goes on. Throughout school, I tried my best to
not fall into any category. I was well rounded and did not focus on one specific activity. I just
wanted to be a boring, random student that was invisible. Little did I know, however, that I would

The prime minister can determine the ministers in each ministry (Johnson, 2004). The head of
government has certain degree of authority and freedom to delegate to its ministers, and it can lead
the government to more stable political situation because fusion of power between the ministries
and prime minister is achieved. Prime ministers can also nominate members of the cabinet but their
functions are not just limited to advisory and consultative. The members must decide collectively
broad matters of policy, involving foreign affairs, finance, and other issues of concern to the entire
government (Hitchner, 1970). The collective body of cabinets reduces the role of prime minister
and his executive power. The presidential government has distinctive characteristics compared to
parliamentary system. According to Hargrove, presidential government can be defined as by
nature, single person office, chosen for a fixed term by a uniquely national constituency, sharing
virtually all the powers of the federal government with an equally distinct and independent
congress (Hargrove, 1984). The president, who is directly elected by public, is head of the

3.3. Porter s Generic Strategy
The company pursues what Porter (1980) calls a differentiation strategy (See Exhibit 4) since the
technological core competency distinguishes BYD s electric automobiles from other brands. The
energy cost of electric automobiles could be only 1/8 of that of the traditional fuel automobiles,
for which it has attracted extensive public attention. Moreover, adapting Fe Battery permits E6 to
be capable of be driven 300 km as a nominal range, and can be charged in household power supply.
Beyond that, the environmentally friendly has gained the governmental support in the form of
subsidy, which decreased the price of F3DM by almost 50% (From 16980, 000 Yuan to 898,000
Yuan).
However, as mentioned above, BYD Auto reduces its cost to a large extent by supplying itself the
car components. Apart from its electric automobiles, the traditional cars are set at a very low price.

The Circular Plot In John Steinbeck s Of Mice And Men
The Circular Plot in Of Mice and Men
The author, John Steinbeck, utilizes a circular plot structure in his novel, Of Mice and Men, to
show how prejudice and the impossibility of wishful desires will always be prevalent in society.
He integrates multiple examples through the characters of this story; each individual representing a
role in society. As Lennie and George travel from ranch to ranch, their dreams are challenged and
Lennie is one of many who faces discrimination.
To commence, repetition is used to introduce how Lennie has always been discriminated against
due to his mental disability. For example, as they arrived on the new ranch, Lennie claims George
said he was his cousin to the boss they had met. Conversely, George retorts that what he said was
a lie, declaring that if he was a relative of [Lennie], [he d] shoot [himself] (Steinbeck 24). This
illustrates how Lennie is often ridiculed for his condition, George concealing it to avoid losing
their opportunity of receiving the Job on the ranch. This moment is one of many situations
George has mistreated Lennie to some extent. Further evidence is when George explains to Slim
what had discouraged him from mocking Lennie. He confesses to Slim that he played jokes on
Lennie because it made him appear smart alongside of him, only stopping when he orders Lennie
to jump in the lake. Lennie couldn t swim a stroke and he was so nice to [George] for [pulling]

A Modest Proposal Satire
The short story, A Modest Proposal, written by Johnathan Swift, is anything but a modest
proposal. Swift satirically proposes a compromise to rectify a burden of the Irish people. The
nation s predicament is the children of the poor people being a hinderance to their parents and
their country. The compromise is eating the infants to not only save food that would be needed
for the kids but to give a larger amount of food to the poor people. Clearly this satirical essay is
just that, satirical, but the way Swift delivers his proposition is very persuasive. Through his use of
rhetorical devices such as tone and litotes he is able to emphasize his points, while at the same time
he throws in a hefty amount of irony to keep the reader from thinking the piece is truthful and
serious.
In order for the audience to not completely disregard the story, the author needs to put some realism
into his writing. A way in which he achieves this is through an under exaggerated tone. Swift
constant use of litotes builds this tone and helps make everything stay real. By making everything
seem not so over the top, he is able to achieve a sense of normalcy in his writing. An example of one
of these vast understatements is when he mentions how the women might find it, Bordering upon
cruelty. The very thought of murdering anything, let alone babies, is cruel. The most evident case
of a litotes, though, is the title of the short story. A Modest Proposal, is anything ... Show more

Personal Narrative-The Battle Of Linton Hollow
I am in mourning and shock. For twenty days, the hen house in my backyard lay under siege in
what became known as The Battle of Linton Hollow. Night after night, the chickens cowered in
fear as hungry predators circled their coop searching for ways to get at them. By day, my wife and
I mended holes in the fencing and set traps, but in the end, there was nothing we could do to save
them. It s hard to admit, but we were simply outwitted by a craftier, more relentless, superior
intelligence. The varmints that struck down our chickens one by one could have taught Colonel
Sanders a thing or two about finger licking good. Once they honed in on the hen house location, and
tasted the first chicken, there was no keeping them out of the buffet line. The final casualty count

laughing at us. However, the twenty day siege taught us a few things about design, and as result,
come spring, our backyard chicken coop will undergo major renovations. Galvanized hardware

wire will cover the top of the coop, and overlapping electric fencing will wrap around the
perimeter of the coop and repel onslaughts from the sides. The new design also calls for a four

Christianity In Dante s Inferno
Dante s Inferno details Dante the traveler s journey through the nine circles of Hell. After meeting
his guide, the eminent Roman poet Virgil, in a mythical dark wood, the two poets begin their
descent through a baleful world of doleful shades, horrifying tortures, and unending lamentation.
Through his journey, Dante discovers what it means to be a good and virtuous Christian by
learning from the mistakes of those being punished in the nine circles of hell. In this way it can be
seen that Dante, the poet, defined his notion of Christian purity in terms of the impure, especially
through Dante s interpretation of the nine circles of hell. Dante, the poet, envisions hell as nine

Again Dante s guide explains that these are the souls whom anger overcame (59). He tells Dante
to take note that under the water are found Others, who once were grim and sullen in the sweet

Paralysis In Dubliners
Moreover, symbolism plays a big role in Dubliners by characters being symbols of their own
paralysis. In The Dead , Aunt Julie is paralyzed because of her lack of romance in her life and
Gabriel is paralyzed by lacking communication of his family and friends. The what if scenario of
Eveline is with Aunt Julie growing old and still not knowing where she was or where she was
going due to her paralysis of when she was young because she is in between what was and what
is next, she is still in that stage of liminality (Joyce 115). The same paralysis that Mrs. Sinico
could have stayed with if she has not committed suicide to solve her problems. Next, Gabriel
Conroy s paralysis like Mr. Duffy in A Painful Case is the lack of communication,

MOVABLE SOLAR POWER PLANT CUM SOLAR PUMP
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The invention relates to the solar power plant. More, particularly, this invention relates to a
movable solar power plant cum solar pump wherein the solar panels can be carried to one place to
another and can produce simultaneously solar electricity for solar pump as well as electricity for
various electrical equipment/apparatus.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
As fossil fuels put the planet in peril, hopes for future prosperity in the developing world now
rest on bold initiatives of use of renewable source of energy. Solar technology is evolving, costs
are coming down and grid connectivity is improving. The dream of universal access to clean
energy is becoming more real. This will be the foundation of the new economy of the new century.
Solar energy is radiant light and heat from the Sun harnessed using a range of ever evolving
technologies such as solar heating, photovoltaic, solar thermal energy, solar architecture and
artificial photosynthesis. Solar panel refers to a panel designed to absorb the sun s rays as a
source of energy for generating electricity or heating. A solar powered pump is a pump running on
electricity generated by photovoltaic panels or the radiated thermal energy available from collected
sunlight as opposed to grid electricity or diesel run water pumps.

Global Food Safety Initiative Technical Committee
According to Global Food Safety Initiative Technical Committee (2007) that Prior to ISO 22000, a
great number of standards had been developed in different countries, and organizations in the food
sector used their own codes to audit their suppliers. The sheer number of standards (and the costs of
conforming to all of them), combined with the increased globalization of the foodindustry, made it
nearly impossible to keep up with the different requirements in the global food market. Additionally,
food borne illnesses increased significantly in all markets, resulting in both economic losses and
damages reputations GFSI Technical Committee (2007) reported that the development of the ISO
22000 standard began in 2001, with a recommendation from the Danish StandardizationBody to the
secretary of ISO s technical committee ISO/TC 34 (Food Products). ISO then developed the
standard in conjunction with the Codex AlimentariusCommission (an international body jointly
established by the World Health Organization and the United Nations Food and Agriculture
Organization) and experts from the food industry. In August 2005, the final draft was unanimously
approved by all 23 national standard bodies participating in the working group. ISO 22000 was
subsequently published on September 1, 2005
Roger Frost (2006) added that there is great interest in ISO 22000 globally. It has already been

Investors do not like to see this and so inevitable just as quickly as the figures were announced,
their shares plummeted: from 14p to ВЈ10.54 (Fletcher, 2010). It s clear the company needs to sort
this issue out and develop a strategy that will enable them to make profits in all the markets they
are in. The question that needs to be asked is: Why is our strategy working in Africa and Asia but
not in Europe and North America?
In 2009 Diageo announced that it was to reduce its work force in the Glasgow and Kilmarnock
plants in Scotland by 900 workers. The company faced wide spread criticism from both the
Scottish government and trade unions for their refusal to negotiate or adopt a compromise
suggested by the Scottish government, which could have saved at least some of these workers
jobs. Considering the brand had been linked to Kilmarnock for almost two centuries and most
workers had been working in the plants for generations, the way in which they were treated by the
company, was abominable. (Maddox 2009) This event however, highlighted a weakness between
the workforce and the managers of the company which could be the source of many problems in
future. If workers in other plants, as result of the Kilmarnock/Glasgow incident assume that the
company views them as disposable labour, not only could the company land themselves a
demotivated workforce; which in turn could lead to shirking

Slavery in the Movie The Help Essay
The term The Help according to dictionary.com means the action of helping someone to do
something. Which refers to the duty of a person that helps keep a household clean and
organized. Back when racism was still openly accepted by society, black women were the only
candidates available for this type of job, because it was very difficult for them to find jobs. The
job of being The Help in the house for rich white folks includes taking care of the kids, the house,
and worry about preparing 3 meals a day for the white family they work for. The term of The
Help doesn t exist anymore in today s world, well at least nobody uses that team for it anymore,

built her own separate bathroom. She was treated bad and was also paid badly. The money she
was being paid is not even enough for her to put together a household and to pay bills. While all
this was going on, she found a way to fight back by helping a young girl write a book that
exposes how The Helps were being treated in the households they take care of. Nowadays,
society don t use the term The Help to describe a person that is hired to take care of a household
of a person that was hired to give an helping hand. Instead they call them a Nanny. The job of a
Nanny is still the same as that of The Help from back in the days, but the only difference is that
they get more respect from whoever hires them and they get a better pay and living condition.
Plus it is not only black women that are involved in these types of work anymore. Nowadays it
varies in terms of races. In an interview that my partner and me had with a Nanny named Rita
Asento where we found out that things are very different now compare to the olden days.
During the interview the Nanny was asked to describe her occupation and what she does, she gave
the following answer, I take care of an old white lady. I was hired by her son to take care of her in

Malcolm Knowles Andragogy Essay
Malcolm S. Knowles:
Adult learning had no distinction from pedagogy in the United States until Malcolm S. Knowles
introduced his controversial theory of andragogy. Knowles was an American educator at North
Carolina State University (Knowles, Holten III, Swanson, 2015). Andragogy is defined as a set of
principles of adult learning that in turn enables those designing and conducting adult learning to
build more effective learning process. Knowles determined there are 4 assumptions about
characteristics of adult learners in 1980 and added a 5th assumption in 1984. His assumptions
resulted into the 4 principles of andragogy.
My thoughts on how humans learn:
I believe learning is a natural skill that can be enhanced once a person recognizes their ... Show

For myself, I can remember things I say aloud better than just reading it. I can also write the
material and have better recall than just reading the material. I have also retained more information
by associating it with personal, real events that have happened in my life. I have found that many
times if I doubt myself, I talk myself into failure; therefore, it greatly benefits me to reassure myself
that I can do it.
Andragogy in Practice as a holistic learning model:
Based on the 4 principles of andragogy, there is a need to explain the reasons that specific things are
being taught, instruction should be task oriented instead of promoting memorization, instructions
should take into account the wide variety of different backgrounds of learners, and since adult
learners are self directed, instruction should allow learner to discover knowledge for themselves
without depending on others (Pappas, 2013). A recently developed holistic theory provides an
integrative framework to examine some of the contemporary adult learning theories (Yang, 2004).

While this is a grave amount of money no amount of money could sum up to the many lives lost
within this tragic event. During this horrifying time insurance was a man s best friend. Insurance
companies those such as Geico, Progressive, and State Farm an estimated amount of $41.7 billion

What Is The Figurative Language In Silk Parachute By John...
Some say when a baby is born, a mother s love is the strongest and most powerful thing in the
world. As the baby grows, the mother s love matures and never waivers. John McPhee
demonstrates this concept of a mother s love in his piece, Silk Parachute. In the passage,
McPhee recalls some of the memories of his childhood and goes into the underlying concept of
an unwavering love from his mother. In Silk Parachute, John McPhee uses the rhetorical devices
of dialogue, parallel structure, and symbolism to prove that no matter what happens, a mother s
love never fails. In this piece, John McPhee does not regularly use direct methods of discussion
to demonstrate his points. As he weaves his way through different methods of figurative
language, one of the modes that he uses is dialogue. In a memory he recalls from the passage, he
states, It is reported that the following dialogue and ensuing action occurred on January 22,
1941: ... I made that sandwich, and you are going to eat it, Mister Man. You filled yourself up
with penny candy on the way home, and now you re not hungry. (4) He uses this dialogue to
give a sense of what his mother was really like and to make her more personable to the reader. He
also uses more dialogue than anywhere else in the paper, on the bad memories side. I believe that
this could be a writerly move of McPhee. As he uses this dialogue in the poor memories side, he
makes the reader focus on the good memories and make her seem more personable.

4.Recommended Organizational Policy Changes
According to Comscore, Europe represents 32% of overall Internet searches with Google having
80% and Microsoft 2%. (Microsoft changes Bing s privacy policy, 2010). The biggest offenders
for malware on the internet is image and video searches on the web. Sophos reports that 92% of
search driven malware attacks is obtained from Google and Bing image searches. (Pearce, 2012). In
a world of personalized online services, establishing and maintaining user trust and responsible use
of data is critical. Users expect appropriate and relevant content and advertising while also
protecting their privacy when they use any search engine. As driven by consumer privacy concerns,
the government has asked the online industry to examine data retention and protection policies.
The Court of Justice for the European Union (CJEU) ordered that search engines are regulators of
processing personal data under the European Union Data Protection Directive, passed in May
2014. (Abril Lipton, 2014). This order requires search engines to remove links from search results
intrusive to individual s privacy rights under this directive and is viewed as a component of the
Digital Right to be Forgotten Act. The ruling raised debate among the industry as to whom will
assume responsibility for online privacy assurance and protection. Interpretation of the law has been

Essay about Cathedral by Raymond Carver
Cathedral by Raymond Carver
In Raymond Carver?s ?Cathedral?, the conventional ideas often associated with blindness and
sight are challenged. By juxtaposing his two male characters, Carver is able to effectively explore
sight and its seemingly simplistic relationship with learning and knowledge. As well, he addresses
the barriers imposed by the human tendency to rely on vision as the sole means of experiencing the
world.
At the beginning of the story, the narrator?s perception on blind people as individuals who
?moved slowly and never laughed? reflect not only his but also the views generally shared by
society (720). The uneasiness experienced by the narrator at the prospect of ?[a] blind man in [his]
house? is a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
he is. As the night wears on the narrator challenges Robert?s blindness in all sorts of ways?drinking,
smoking cigarettes dope, and turning on the TV?which leads to their drawing of the cathedral and
the narrator?s ?awakening.?
Carver develops the two main characters in his story to be completely contrasted to each other,
in these characters not only does sight and blindness become conflicted with each other but also
does the issue of knowledge. Carver uses the narrator to represent an individual who sees but
cannot ?see? and Robert as one who can ?see? but lacks the ability to see. Through the interaction
between them, Carver address societies misconception of vision and its connection with
knowledge. He brings to the foreground the idea of sight being the handicap rather then blindness.
This is illustrated through the narrator?s inability to understand his wife and her ?poems? and
Roberts ability to do so. Robert?s attitude of ?learning never ends? and his ability to fearlessly
experience new things such as ?dope? and gain new knowledge regardless of his ?disability? shows
that he is not the one that is disabled (727). Rather it is the hesitance of the narrator that is the
handicap and barrier that initially lies between them.
Our vision is perceived to be our most trusted sense, as the old saying goes ?seeing is believing?

Pros And Cons Of Legal Burden Of Proof
According to Murphy on Evidence this was explained as the whole of the evidence, of the truth or
sufficient probability of every essential fact in issue.
There are two types of burdens involved in criminal and civil action. Such as,
Legal Burden (LB) and
Evidential Burden (EB)
In the case of legal burden, the jury decides the matter of the case and when it comes to the criminal
matters the prosecution has the burden to prove. In criminal actions the accused, is considered as an
innocent party and the prosecution should have to prove guilt beyond reasonable doubt.
According to the woolmington principle the burden of proof is lie on the prosecution and till the
end of the trial, the accused (criminal procedure) is presumed to be innocent

Principles of Human Development Paper #1
The concepts and theories of human development are important for a school counselor to have
knowledge on. Knowledge on these topics can aid the counselor in better understanding the
circumstances of their students. There are three main developmental sections which will be
discussed in this paper. Those three include physical development, cognitive development, and
social development. Each section contains multiple theories and concepts that would be beneficial
to school counselors but this paper will only discuss six of those. Those six include gross and fine
motor skills, Jean Piaget s stages of development, information processing theory, Erik Erickson s
stages of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gross and fine motor skills do not fully rely on maturation of the child but also on the child s
environment, parent s expectations and teachings of the skills. School counselors should know
about this topic because gross and fine motor skills will be needed throughout life and it is an
important part to the developmental process. Another concept of physical development is the
current issue of child obesity. Childhood obesity is caused by an imbalance of energy in and
energy out or in other words calories put in to the body and calories burned out. Too much of the
wrong types of food and lack of physical activity can cause this (Zuk 2008). Currently 15% or
about nine million children are obese in the United States. Child obesity is almost to the point of
being an epidemic and many physicians believe that this generation will be the first where
children have shorter lifespans than their parent s due to diseases caused by obesity as adults
(Steinberg 2011). The issue of child obesity is good for school counselors to be aware of because
of the medical risks that go on into adolescence and adulthood such as asthma, and type II diabetes.
Counselors can be prepared with answers if asked by students.
Cognitive development is defined as changes in intellectual ability. Examples of this would include
reasoning, language, and memory (Steinberg

The battle for Canadian liberty and autonomy is being fought today on the plains of France and
Belgium, Borden said while introducing conscription. (Cook, 2011 3 ed., Vol. 13, p.13)
At the beginning of the twentieth century, many Canadians were still adjusting to its new ways and
ideas. Then the Greatest War the world had ever seen transformed the map of Europe and changed
the nations, and the people, who fought in it forever. In Canada, for example, during the war the
government faced great challenges such as the conscription crisis when the Country was divided
by politics. In addition Canada was accepting the new, untraditional, roles of women, who during
the war were allowed to work for the first time in men s professions ; such as ... Show more content

Borden wrote in his diary, Our first duty is to win, at any cost, the coming election in order that
we may continue to do our part in winning the War and that Canada not be disgraced. (Cook,
2011, p.14). Borden was true to his word. During the summer of 1917 he presented two new acts
that would assure his party victory. First Borden presented the Military Voters Act which
allowed soldiers over seas to vote in elections. Second the War Times Election Act, gave women
who were of close family relation to a man serving in the forces, the right to vote but revoked the
right to vote from citizens who were immigrants from enemy countries. (Cook, 2011, p.15)
Borden presenting these acts would allow pro military citizens to vote was strategic. The
Liberals were very upset by Borden s crafty political sabotage of their chances of winning the
election. In the Khaki election, Borden s Unionists won the most seats across Canada except in
Quebec. The Unionists won the majority of seats in Ontario and the West. The Unionists only
had three seats in Quebec. The Unionists won the election with a total of 153 seats across
Canada. The Maritimes were split with the Liberals, but the Liberals had eighty two across
Canada and sixty two from Quebec (Cook, 2011 p.18). Borden s acts and bills had achieved their
desired effect. English speaking women had been the leading cause for the Unionists win (Cook,
2011 p.19). It is hard to argue against helping soldiers vote in an

Mixed martial arts is one of the most demanding sports you will ever do. It requires elite
athleticism coupled with an endless number of skills to master as part of your MMA training.
Endurance Fighting 3 5, 5 minute rounds, the sport demands high levels of endurance from an
athlete who is required to perform his lethal best from bell to bell. In an era of high intensity
interval training (HIIT) and Tabata protocols, endurance is an often overlooked aspect of MMA
training, but probably one of the most essential. By endurance training we are talking about
aerobic capacity, and this is developed by roadwork, swimming, bike riding or triathlons. These

Regardless of which disciplines you chose to incorporate into your own style, you will have to
pay particular attention to three key parts of the sport the striking, the grappling, and the
submissions. All fights start standing, and often end there. You will need to develop skill in
striking, be able to deliver knockout blows, and have proficient footwork and hand speed to
control the fight and throw combos at your opponent. Two of the best striking arts directly
applicable to MMA are Muay Thai and boxing which often form the basis of most MMA fighters
striking skills. Some also incorporate taekwondo in order to develop a less predictable striking
style. Grappling is also essential, and probably the most dominant discipline in the sport. You
must control your opponent s body at all times, be able to fight in the clinch, control him up
against the cage and on the ground. The best skills for this are wrestling both freestyle and Greco
Roman, as well as judo and Russian sambo. These skills allow you to take your fighter to the

  • 3. My Experience With Technology My Experience with Technology I am going to tell you some my experiences with technology from my past and how it will lead to my future. One of my experiences includes taking a Video Cassette Recorder (VCR) apart when I was younger. Another is when I built my first computer and the consequences that followed when I did that. So why did I take VCR player apart when I was younger? The reason is that I was curious, like boys are at that age, and I wanted to know how the VCR player worked. Therefore, I did what any other 10 year old boys would do in my shoes, I found a screwdriver, and I started taking apart the player. Taking it apart was easy, but putting it back together proved to be a little more difficult than I had originally thought it would be. I tried hard to put it back together, unfortunately, I didn t to have the required skills at the time to reassemble the VCR so in the trash it went. This VCR was not the only thing to be taken apart and not reassembled. I must have taken apart a least half of a dozens of them in addition to a DVD player or two. I took apart pretty much anything that was not bolted to the floor. To be fair, most of them were broken and were junk anyways, so me taking them apart didn t mean I was out of control or anything. My parents saw it was a learning experience. My grandfather, on the other hand, told me when I was not allowed to touch any electronic devices in his house with a screwdriver, which I obeyed, most of the time. ... • 4. Theme Of Vengeance In The Oresteia Orestes has to kill her (Zeitlin, 476). The view of vengeance in Aeschylus s The Oresteia also depends on the situation the person enacting the vengeance is in beforehand. Another component that changes the view of vengeance is what situation the character is in; meaning how the murderer is related to the victim and the position they are in at the time or before. Clytemnestra is in a situation where her husband kills their daughter and she can either retaliate or live with the fact that Iphigenia is dead. She chooses to kill her husband and she does not have any support other than that of Aegisthus. Orestes is basically forced into killing his mother and Aegisthus by Apollo and people around him like his sister Electra and the Chorus as well as his friend Pylades. In the beginning of Liberation Bearers, Orestes comes back and encounters his sister Electra at their father s grave. During their reacquaintance, Orestes tells Electra that he has been ordered to kill Clytemnestra and Aegisthus by Apollo, ...if I failed to kill my father s killers.......to kill the two of them as they killed him, in the same way. He said that otherwise I d pay the debt with my own life, and it would be a life of torment that would never end (Aeschylus, Liberation Bearers lines 307 313). He has this threat hanging over his head and any time he starts to waver, his friend Pylades, his sister, and the chorus encouraged him. the third and last storm battering their house. In the end, Orestes does in fact come third and as a saviour. Before entering the palace he rehearses the piece of deceit by which he wraps his mother and Aegisthus in their own toils. As he puts it before his sister and the confederate chorus of Trojan captives, he will not give Aegisthus time to ask from where he has come , this shows that he has a lot of support behind him in this endeavor in addition to the support of Apollo (Clay, 4). After he kills his mother and her lover, he has to wash his hands of the blood and, to be cured, he must journey to the oracle of Delphi (Burke, 382). Orestes kills his mother, subsequently he begins to see the furies that are coming after him (Burke, 382). The Furies that are now pursuing him punish blood guilt (Burke, 382) ... • 6. The Importance Of German Culture What was Richard Wagner s explanation of German nature or the inherent sense of what defines a true German? Again, according to Wagner, why was the Jew an alien? What specific examples does he use to make his point? Wagner says Jews could not be part of the European community or participate in its culture because they were unable to speak properly language of their adopted countries, and the language was the soul of the nation (Dwork15). Using the proper speaking terms of their language was very important to their culture/beliefs. If you could not accomplish this then you were insulting the Germans. Wilhelm Marr, was a German follower of Wagner and said the Jewscould never become German because they would never be able to speak proper German (Dwork15). Their original tongue was a Semitic language; therefore those who opposed Jews because they defiled and infringe upon German culture rights and should identify themselves proudly as anti Semites (Dwork16). Wagner denies Jews of true creativity (ORT). He says a Jewish artist can only speak in imitation of others, make art imitation of others; he cannot really speak, write, or create art on his own (ORT). When Wagner is asked what a German is, he response back culture, not economy, that s the core of German identity. The Jews manipulation of the language and art was infinitely more pernicious than his control over money ever has been (Dwork26). Wagner says the Jew had bought the German soul with his trade in works of culture ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Ncaa s Policy On Amateurism The NCAA s policy on amateurism has been around since the creation of the NCAA by Theodore Roosevelt. This policy was created to prevent teams from hiring ringers to play in games and to limit point shaving/corruption in collegiate sports. Currently, prospective student athletes have to be certified as an amateur by the NCAA Clearinghouse in order to compete in any competitions. Over the last decade, there has been an increase in the National Collegiate Athletic Associationor NCAA s policy on Amateurism. As previously stated, this policy has been around since the creation of the NCAA, but the elements of the policy are almost the same. According to the NCAA Manual, a student athlete is considered an amateur if they have not: signed a contract with a professional team, received payment for participating in athletics, played with professionals, received benefits from an agent or prospective agent, or agreed to be represented by an agent (NCAA, 2015). The main reason why amateurism has been such a hot topic is the lawsuit by Ed O Bannon and others against the NCAA and its licensing partner. This lawsuit was based on the fact that the NCAA, EA Sports, and the NCAA s licensing partner for using his (Ed O Bannon) likeness and image for video games without compensating him (Sievert, 2015; Tracy and Strauss, 2015). This lawsuit was started because Ed O Bannon, a former UCLA basketball player, noticed that the NCAA was using classic teams, including the 1996 UCLA team that he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I am a healthy BMI but I constantly think I am not skinny enough, which is disappointing. I decided to unfollow the girls that made me insecure online on apps such as Instagram and twitter. I follow more body positive accounts. I found a love for fitness and health and I decided I want to feel better rather than look skinner. It made a world of difference being in the class and learning that loving yourself was not as hard as I expected. 2)Understanding sexual activity through the years This topic took me by surprise. I don t live with older adults, only my parents. I have never had a grandmother to talk to so I just never thought of the idea of growing old with someone. Research from NSSHB 2010, shows that people between the ages of 18 29 have sex on average of 112 times per year, while adults 40 49 have sex around 69 times a year. This study shows that 3 percent of married women reported that they had never had sex in the past year. I find this information important because lowering of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Between the period 2011 and 2104, it is estimated that more than 485.000 workers emigrated, the highest number in more than five decades, being most of them young and highly qualified, such as doctors, nurses, and scientists. These negative impacts on the Portuguese growth led to a growing political and popular hostility to austerity. Many believed that all of the austerity measures only led to unemployment, job insecurity, and consequently poverty. Under those circumstances, the future of the European project became under scrutiny and many began to question if Portugal should leave the euro and the European Union. Rods and cones in the retina allow light perception and vision including color differentiation and the conscious perception of depth. The human eye can distinguish 10 million colors. The eyeis composed of three layers, enclosing three transparent structures . The outer layer , called the fibrous tunic is comprised of the cornea and sclera . The middle layer , called the vascular tunic or uvea is the choroid , ciliary body and the iris. The innermost part of the eye is the retina , which gets its circulation from the vessels of the choroid and retinal vessels , which can be seen in an ophthalmoscope . The blood vessels can be seen in the sclera , and a strong ring around the iris limbo . Within these coats are the aqueous humor , vitreous humor and the flexible lens . The aqueous humor is a clear fluid that is contained in two areas: the anterior chamber between the cornea and the iris and the posterior chamber between the iris and lens. The lens is suspended in the ciliary body in the suspensory ligament , composed of transparent fibers . The vitreous is a clear gel that is larger than the aqueous humor is behind the lens , and the rest is enclosed by the sclera , zonule , and lens. They are connected by the pupil . The issue on feminism is one that has been fought for by both men and woman for many years and yet still seems to be an ongoing battle to achieve full gender equality. I personally feel that genderequality is important in this world because I for myself have met women in my life who I not only look up to but who have also inspired me to keep moving forward in my journey of life. In this paper I will describe all four feministic theories as well as to why I support feminismas a whole. I will also compare the similarities as well as differences of these theories as well as to which theory I tend to see more of on a day to day basis. First we are encountered with the theory of Classical Feminism. This theory is also referred to as Liberal Feminism which implies that all men and woman are to be regarded as persons first and gendered beings second (Rosenstand, 625). It is in classical feminism where we are introduced to another type of gender, which is referred to as Androgyny. This new gender category is one that is considered to be a combination of both feminine and masculine characteristics and is achieved through cultural changes rather than biological differences (Rosenstand, 627). Simone de Beauvoir believed that a man was considered a typical human being while women were viewed as atypical (Rosenstand, 627). Beauvoir believed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I walked to classroom fifteen not expecting anything. I never expect anything anyway in an easy math class required for all nursing students. It may have also been because I am a confirmed nerd. In the school setting, people are divided into groups or categories. Students are characterized by a specific characteristic that defines them into a subgroup of school identity and status. There is the nerd group, the geek squad, the jocks, the dramatics, the clown, the teacher s pet and the list goes on. Throughout school, I tried my best to not fall into any category. I was well rounded and did not focus on one specific activity. I just wanted to be a boring, random student that was invisible. Little did I know, however, that I would be placed into a group with one single event. When I was in fifth grade, I watched a Disney Channel show, Wizards of Waverly Place . In the television show, it was common knowledge that one of the characters, Justin Russo, was a true nerd. Every action he made from studying to having knowledge of numerous useless facts exemplified his extreme diligence and passion. In this particular episode I watched, Justin was overwhelmed with homework and tasks. The prime minister can determine the ministers in each ministry (Johnson, 2004). The head of government has certain degree of authority and freedom to delegate to its ministers, and it can lead the government to more stable political situation because fusion of power between the ministries and prime minister is achieved. Prime ministers can also nominate members of the cabinet but their functions are not just limited to advisory and consultative. The members must decide collectively broad matters of policy, involving foreign affairs, finance, and other issues of concern to the entire government (Hitchner, 1970). The collective body of cabinets reduces the role of prime minister and his executive power. The presidential government has distinctive characteristics compared to parliamentary system. The Circular Plot In John Steinbeck s Of Mice And Men The Circular Plot in Of Mice and Men The author, John Steinbeck, utilizes a circular plot structure in his novel, Of Mice and Men, to show how prejudice and the impossibility of wishful desires will always be prevalent in society. He integrates multiple examples through the characters of this story; each individual representing a role in society. As Lennie and George travel from ranch to ranch, their dreams are challenged and Lennie is one of many who faces discrimination. To commence, repetition is used to introduce how Lennie has always been discriminated against due to his mental disability. For example, as they arrived on the new ranch, Lennie claims George said he was his cousin to the boss they had met. Conversely, George retorts that what he said was a lie, declaring that if he was a relative of [Lennie], [he d] shoot [himself] (Steinbeck 24). This illustrates how Lennie is often ridiculed for his condition, George concealing it to avoid losing their opportunity of receiving the Job on the ranch. This moment is one of many situations George has mistreated Lennie to some extent. Further evidence is when George explains to Slim what had discouraged him from mocking Lennie. He confesses to Slim that he played jokes on Lennie because it made him appear smart alongside of him, only stopping when he orders Lennie to jump in the lake. • 37. A Modest Proposal Satire The short story, A Modest Proposal, written by Johnathan Swift, is anything but a modest proposal. Swift satirically proposes a compromise to rectify a burden of the Irish people. The nation s predicament is the children of the poor people being a hinderance to their parents and their country. The compromise is eating the infants to not only save food that would be needed for the kids but to give a larger amount of food to the poor people. Clearly this satirical essay is just that, satirical, but the way Swift delivers his proposition is very persuasive. Through his use of rhetorical devices such as tone and litotes he is able to emphasize his points, while at the same time he throws in a hefty amount of irony to keep the reader from thinking the piece is truthful and serious. In order for the audience to not completely disregard the story, the author needs to put some realism into his writing. A way in which he achieves this is through an under exaggerated tone. Swift constant use of litotes builds this tone and helps make everything stay real. By making everything seem not so over the top, he is able to achieve a sense of normalcy in his writing. An example of one of these vast understatements is when he mentions how the women might find it, Bordering upon cruelty. The very thought of murdering anything, let alone babies, is cruel. Night after night, the chickens cowered in fear as hungry predators circled their coop searching for ways to get at them. By day, my wife and I mended holes in the fencing and set traps, but in the end, there was nothing we could do to save them. It s hard to admit, but we were simply outwitted by a craftier, more relentless, superior intelligence. The varmints that struck down our chickens one by one could have taught Colonel Sanders a thing or two about finger licking good. However, the twenty day siege taught us a few things about design, and as result, come spring, our backyard chicken coop will undergo major renovations. Galvanized hardware cloth will replace the old 19 gauge chicken wire top to bottom. Rolls of 18 inch galvanized razor wire will cover the top of the coop, and overlapping electric fencing will wrap around the perimeter of the coop and repel onslaughts from the sides. After meeting his guide, the eminent Roman poet Virgil, in a mythical dark wood, the two poets begin their descent through a baleful world of doleful shades, horrifying tortures, and unending lamentation. Through his journey, Dante discovers what it means to be a good and virtuous Christian by learning from the mistakes of those being punished in the nine circles of hell. As the baby grows, the mother s love matures and never waivers. John McPhee demonstrates this concept of a mother s love in his piece, Silk Parachute. In the passage, McPhee recalls some of the memories of his childhood and goes into the underlying concept of an unwavering love from his mother. In Silk Parachute, John McPhee uses the rhetorical devices of dialogue, parallel structure, and symbolism to prove that no matter what happens, a mother s love never fails. In this piece, John McPhee does not regularly use direct methods of discussion to demonstrate his points. As he weaves his way through different methods of figurative language, one of the modes that he uses is dialogue. In a memory he recalls from the passage, he states, It is reported that the following dialogue and ensuing action occurred on January 22, 1941: ... I made that sandwich, and you are going to eat it, Mister Man. You filled yourself up with penny candy on the way home, and now you re not hungry. (4) He uses this dialogue to give a sense of what his mother was really like and to make her more personable to the reader. He also uses more dialogue than anywhere else in the paper, on the bad memories side. I believe that this could be a writerly move of McPhee. Gross and fine motor skills do not fully rely on maturation of the child but also on the child s environment, parent s expectations and teachings of the skills. School counselors should know about this topic because gross and fine motor skills will be needed throughout life and it is an important part to the developmental process. Another concept of physical development is the current issue of child obesity. Childhood obesity is caused by an imbalance of energy in and energy out or in other words calories put in to the body and calories burned out. Too much of the wrong types of food and lack of physical activity can cause this (Zuk 2008). Currently 15% or about nine million children are obese in the United States. Borden wrote in his diary, Our first duty is to win, at any cost, the coming election in order that we may continue to do our part in winning the War and that Canada not be disgraced. (Cook, 2011, p.14). Borden was true to his word. During the summer of 1917 he presented two new acts that would assure his party victory.
