Emricism Vs Rationalism
Evangelicalism resulted from a combination of the Protestant Reformation in Europe and the Great
Awakening in the American colonies. Evangelicals believe in the authority of Scripture and its
practical application to everyday life. They believe that one must be born again, and that a person is
saved through grace. Also, they believe that the church is made up of all those who are born again.
They believe that Jesus is at the center of everything. They believe in the Great Commission,
spreading the good news to all nations. Charles Finney was an evangelical who emphasized the
concept of free will. He believed that God gave us rules defining what is right and wrong, and the
freedom to choose whether to do what is right or wrong. He would ... Show more content on

Per Bernard Ramm, This new movement has been called crisis theology because it so emphasized
God s judgement on man; Barthianism, because it stems from the original thoughts of Karl Barth; neo
orthodoxy because it dissevers itself from liberalism and seeks to recover the insights of the
Reformers Karl Barth emphasized the word of God as something that grabs hold of us. He believed
that God reveals himself through Scripture. Barth came up with the concepts of the revealed word, the
written word, and the proclaimed word, and he reinforced these three concepts by relating them with
the doctrine of the Trinity. The revealed word refers to the moment in which we receive God s
revelation, when God speaks directly to us. The written word refers to the Bible, and the witness to the
event of God s revelation . The whole Bible directs us toward Christ. The proclaimed word refers to
the declaration and preaching of God s word, which also bears witness to the revealed word . Barth
believed that the written word and the proclaimed word had the potential to be flawed because of man
s involvement with writing and preaching Scripture. The revealed word could only occur when God
decided to speak directly to an individual or through an individual preaching to a group. Hebrews 4:12
states, For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing
even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of

What Is The Solow Economic Growth Model And The Solow...
2. Literature Review
2.1. Introduction to the literature review
The following headings cover the theory and literature relevant to this study.
The literature review is divided into four distinct sections: Economic growth, productivity, industrial
robot density and its effect on labour.
2.2. Economic growth models
2.2.1. The Solow economic growth model and the Solow residual
Burda Severgnini (2014) stated that that for half a century the Solow decomposition and residual
theory have been used to define and measure the productivity component of growth in economics and
management. The work by Solow (1957) remains influential, as it broke the limitations of the
contemporary and restrictive labour and capital input growth models of the period. ... Show more

The so called Solow residual can be explained by the phenomenon where the growth rate in output
exceeds that of the growth rate of inputs (Ten Raa, 2011). This paved the way for the contribution of
productivity as a metric contribution to economic growth theory, and in this context why the increased
productivity effected through ever advancing robotic technologies and rate of implementation are
important to study. Robert Solow s research was core to theoretical concepts of which the Solow
residual, total factor productivity (TFP), the Solow decomposition and the Neo classical growth model
were relevant to this research.
Robert Solow s (1956) seminal essay titled: A contribution to the theory of economic growth
introduced the framework for the development of the neo classical growth model. Productivity is a
key enabler of economic growth (Autor, 2015; Krone, 2014; Mokyr, Vickers Ziebarth, 2015). These
theories affirmed the applicability of industrial robot density as an accurate metric and enabler of
economic growth within the neo classical economic growth theory

Male Victims Of Female Victims
VICTIM BLAMING As stated above, one reason males being raped by females is not commonly
known is because victims blame themselves. Male victims of rape, like female victims, are likely to be
blamed by others for their own rape (Anderson, 2004). When victims blame themselves multiple
questions run through their mind to where in the end they blame themselves for the action occurring
and not want to tell anyone due to fear of embarrassment. Due to stereotypes, multiple studies have
shown that male victims of rape are being blame for their assault. Male victims tend to be blamed
more than female victims on behavior blame measures, due to societal stereotypes that a man should
be able to defend for themselves (Davies and Rogers, 2006). However, women are not expected to be
able to defend for themselves. While male victims are held responsible for the rape on account of their
behavior during the attack, female victims are attributed more blame on account of their internal
characteristics (Doherty and Anderson, 2004). Stating that males are blamed for not being masculine
enough to fight off their attacker and females are blamed for putting themselves in that situation when
they should have been safer. The fact that males can be victims of rape challenges may beliefs about
men s masculinity. Males that identify as homosexual are judged to be more at fault than males that
identify as heterosexual (Davis and Rogers, 2006). Homosexual males are seen as violating gender

John Steinbeck s East of Eden
Biblical Symbolism in East of Eden
Throughout the novel East of Eden, Steinbeck uses many biblical references to illustrate clearly the
conflict between the opposing forces of good and evil. Much of the plot of East of Eden is centered
upon the two sets of brothers representing Cain and Abel. Both pairs are similar to Cain and Abel in
the way they go about winning their fathers favors. All four give gifts to their fathers, and the fathers
dismiss the gifts of Charles and Caleb, the Cain representations (Marks, Jay Lester. p.121). Caleb and
Charles Trask are obviously the more malignant brothers. They are also the more loving towards their
father. Steinbeck s purpose in this is to illustrate the need of the Cain character in ... Show more

Cathy Kate combines many biblical figures as well. She is not only Eve, but she is Cain s wife and the
serpent of Eden as well (Fonterose, Joseph. p.3380). Thus she is the representation of evil too. Cathy
is evil to the point where she is not human. Her presence in the novel is meant to represent evil and all
of its cruel intentions. All of her deeds are intended to show how far from the real world Cathy
actually is (Howard, Levant. p. 245). Steinbeck compares Cathy to other prostitutes in Salinas Valley,
the setting of East of Eden. She is described as the only whore who is incapable of being a good
person. She is an inhuman being whose life revolves around cruelty and wrongdoing. She is solely
satanic and destroys the innocence of man (Marks, Jay Lester. p. 126 127).
John Steinbeck includes more of the tale of Genesis: 4 than is actually told in the bible. The basis of
this is a Jewish story involving twin sisters of both Cain and Abel. The two disputed over Abel s twin
whom Abel was to marry. Cain murdered Abel and wed the twin sister of his brother (Fonterose,
Joseph. p.3380). The story differs also in that it is Abel who leaves his home instead of Cain. Abel
found his Eden, represented by Salinas Valley, but lost it after fathering a second generation very
similar to the first, Caleb representing Cain and Aron representing Abel (Fonterose, Joseph. p.3379).
The story is changed by Steinbeck to illustrate

Huckleberry Finn Flaws
Huckleberry Finn: The Great America Novel When I was in 5th grade I first read Huckleberry Finn.
Not the full version, mind you. It was of course censored to slaves and left out some very meticulous
details but it still had that feel of racism, the stereotypes, and all the things that had been labeled
controversial, now and then. But regardless of these flaws I kept reading, as it was the first novel that I
had read that really hooked me in and left me with a real sense of American pride. So when I was
given the arguing side for Huck Finn, I was excited and even after the debate I know that Huckleberry
Finn is the Great American Novel. When we started the debate I immediately interested by the points
that both sides were presenting. Both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While the argument is that the plot is weak and has a unsatisfactory ending, I know for a fact it is one
of the only endings to a novel that I will ever remember. The ending really brought together some
previously left out details that Twain built up well in my opinion, and the final goodbye to the territory
really left me as a reader feeling American pride. This American pride is also something that I will
forever remember as it is not only a main focus, but is the biggest part of the argument for being the
great American novel. It s sense of adventure and freedom left me and I m sure people with the feeling
that anything was possible through freedom and adventure, the very things symbolized my America.
So, really it s a no brainer for me. It would be an absolute travesty to remove Huckleberry Finn from
our curriculum as it offers so much and portrays the real life that existed for African Americans during
the 1840s. It has adventure, daring, morals, complex emotions, and most of all an overtone of
American pride that can always be useful to younger generations that are still learning the term. Sure,
there are other books that could tell the story of how wrong slavery is and the evils of racism but I
believe that what Huckleberry Finn brings to the table is to much to

Disadvantages Of Lettuce
LETTUCE
I decided to grow two different types of lettuce in the polytunnel. Lettuce is part of the
ASTERACEAE family. The P.H. in the soil has a reading of 7. This means it is alkaline and is good
ground for growing crops. It is recommended that a South facing site be used and that the site has
good drainage. There are four different varieties of Lettuce. They are:
Butterheads.
Cos and Semi Cos.
Crispheads.
Loose Leaf.
BUTTERHEADS:
Butterheads are soft and round with either flat or frilly leaves.
COS AND SEMI COS:
These are upright and more oval in shape with longer crisper leaves. They are known as ROMAINE
Lettuce.
CRISPHEADS:
The Crispheads have round, dence heads, and very crunchy leaves. When their outer leaves are
removed, they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With Lettuce or any type of vegetable, it is recommended that you rotate the crop every year. This will
stop the spread of pests and diseases to other plants.
PESTS:
There are many pests that affect the lettuce. They are:
SLUGS
SNAILS
APHIDS
CUTWORMS
WIREWORMS
LEATHERJACKETS
SLUGS AND SNAILS:
These eat young leaves and bury into the heart of the Lettuce. According to TEAGASC the use of
hollowed out grapefruit or orange laid on the surface of the soil, will attract the slugs which can then
be destroyed .
APHIDS:
These feed on roots and may cause the plant to wilt. alphids are also known as Blackfly or Greenfly .
They fed on the sap and spread viruses between plants.
There are some ORGANIC treatments available such as PYRETHRUM, REFINED PLANT OILS,
and INSECTICIDIAL SOAPS. Ladybirds, lacewigs and other insects make natural predators.
Cutworms:
Cutworms feed on the roots of young plants and also on the leaves closest to the ground, so weeding
regularly reduces their choice of food.
LEATHERJACKETS:
They have no head or legs, but live in the soil. They eat roots and stems causing plants to wilt.
Starlings, Trushes and Blackbirds love them.

What Symbolism Mean To Me
Symbols can be defined as; a thing that represents or stands for something else, especially a material
object representing something abstract. (Google Dictionary) There are countless of symbols out there
that are important and meaningful to my life. But there are a few symbols that is extra special and
represents me as a person and who I am today. The four most important symbols in my life are a cross,
a family, the Vietnam flag, and the piano which all connects back to one big symbol, a heart. To begin,
a cross is one of the most important symbols in my life. The cross symbolizes my religion which
represents my hope and faith. The cross is where the Lord our God died on. As a catholic, the cross is
important to me because it reminds me ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Playing the piano is one of the few things that I enjoy doing the most. Learning or playing the piano
teaches me how to be patient when I might can t get the correct notes right away. The sounds and
musics coming out from a piano just creates a happier mood around. Whenever I feel sad or bored,
playing the piano just puts a smile on my face. Being able to play the piano shows me all the hard
work I had put into it and proves that I would be able to do anything if I just put in the time and effort.

James Bonds Gender Roles
The gender representation in the James Bond franchise are displayed quite differently throughout time.
The 1964 Goldfinger, written by Ian Fleming, portrayed women as sexual objects that were there for
one plain and simple reason: amusement. Whereas in the modern 2015 Spectre film, directed by Sam
Mendes, women are presented with a lot more empowerment and strength, which was absent within
the 1964 film. Women in Goldfinger were objects that were used for Bond s entertainment. On the
other hand, women in Spectre were different, and they became strong characters who had a clear
purpose in the film. The presentation of men in the Bond franchise have also developed, and they are
now starting to show signs of weakness and frail. The representation ... Show more content on

Women develop their own personality, and they start to have more vital roles in the film. An example
of this is Madeleine Swann. She was the primary woman in the film, and she was there to assist Bond
with his mission when he needed it. Madeleine supported Bond in the scene where he was getting
beaten up by an enemy in the train. He was starting to weaken and wear out, and using Madeleine s
stunning bravery, she hit the enemy on their head. She gave a chance for Bond to stand up on his feet
again, and have the upper hand in the fight. The fact that Madeleine wasn t just standing there
screaming and watching the events unfold, amplifies the bravery and courage that women today are
exhibiting to the world. She in no longer a weak woman who was scared of getting involved in action.
She did what the audience would be screaming at her to do: go and do something. This shows the
development of women in Bond films, and the way they have adapted to suit modern society and
target audience. They are no longer objects for Bond s amusement, in fact, they are now intelligent
characters who are not concerned about being portrayed as petit or pretty. The audience watching this
would be proud of how Madeleine acted, and they would relate to how strong women are becoming in

Double Indemnity Essay
In Double Indemnity , to depict the characteristics of the femme fatale named Dietrichson in different
plots, the combination of various representational ways is necessary. Hanson Helen and O Rawe
Catherine analyze many plots of this movie and list them in their book named The Femme Fatale:
Images, Histories, Contexts . Take one representational method as an example, In this plot which
shows the conversation between Dietrichson and Neff, audiences just can hear Dietrichson s voices
and all of her gestures and facial expressions are hidden by the shadow, at the same time, Walter
appearance can be seen clearly (Hanson Helen, O Rawe Catherine). This innovative way is used to
highlight their different standpoints, in fact, the movie shows Dietrichson always manipulates the
progress of the crime and controls Neff s affection for her plan. In another words, Walter is in the
light, meanwhile, Dietrichson is in darkness. Additionally, This movie uses this method for
transforming the threat into a secret to foreshadow their tragic results (Hanson Helen, O Rawe
Catherine). Double Indemnity does not show the outcome of Neff clearly, although audiences know
that he was shot by Dietrichson and the crime he did was known by his colleague. Innovative
representations for plots are using in this movie, however, it shows traditional results for Dietrichson
and Neff. In fact, people can expect that Neff will not avoid from death and laws because of the shot
or the crime, however,

Leadership Of The Public Sector
In modern IT market, leadership plays a vital role. However, everyone feels they know leadership, and
everyone can talk about it in detail. Although, leadership is a complicated set of processes that is
difficult to perform effectively. Furthermore, there are few different models of leadership which suit
various sectors.
Therefore, to be able to perform leadership coherently in organizations for hiring, development,
promotion and assessment, it is essential to make fundamental distinctions and expose assumptions.
(Wart, 2012)
Moreover, leadership is constantly changing because of new contexts, tools and concerns, in order to

It should not be confused with operational effectiveness or best practices what is good for everybody

For example, you cannot put E learning and knowledge management at the front position of your

The vocabulary is simple and yet striking. The theme is so powerful in itself that probably Orwell
regarded that the use of simple vocabulary would still be equally prominent. It certainly brings out the
beauty of the narrative. The plot unfolds in a way that is easily predictable. There is a definite
beginning, middle and an end. George Orwell primarily uses first person narrative (which is Winston s
perspective) to unfold the story. He also sometimes shifts to a third person narrative. Thus this dual
use of narrative helps the story to open up on two distinct levels. One is personal, from the point of

Terrill entered the president s office and placed the stack of reports on his desk. The president and the
other senior executives looked bewildered.
This, Terrill announced, is the reason for the lack of productivity in the Sales Engineering division.
These are the reports your people require every month. The fact that they sat on my desk all month
shows that no one reads this material. I suggest that the engineers time could be used in a more
productive manner, and that one brief monthly report from my office will satisfy the needs of the other
departments.
Questions
1. Does John Terrill leadership style fit the definition of leadership. Explain.
Yes, Terrill shows his leadership qualities by listening to the engineers and concerns on the problem
facing by them that resulted poor productivity. Terrill is optimise that he can resolve the issue by
trying to influence top management by showing them that those unnecessary reports are wasting and
holding the engineers from focusing on the main objective of the department. Terrill has improved the
relationship with the engineer by changing the reporting procedure and gaining their trust as well. By

Analysis Of Ghost In The Shell
The term cyborg was first created when researchers attempted to alter the human body for space travel
(Corbett, 2009). It is short for cybernetic organism, that is, a being with both organic and
biomechatronic components. The film Ghost in the Shell (1995) is an example of speculative fiction
and takes place in a futuristic Hong Kong inspired cityscape, where cyborgs and prosthetic bodies are
not unusual. Oshii Masamune s animated science fiction film is set in 2029, when people can
customise their bodies, replay memories and move from shell to shell. Susan Napier describes the film
as an exploration of the possibilities of transcending individual and corporeal identity (Napier, 2001,
as cited in Ashby, 2008, 2.4).
It is common practice to own a cyberbrain; an artificially augmented brain that allows connection to
the internet and other networks. Public security agency Section 9 is searching for a mysterious hacker
known as the Puppet Master . The hacker is able to alter the memories of individuals with cyberbrains,
leaving the Section 9 investigator, Motoko, wondering if her memories and feelings are real. It is later
revealed that the hacker is a secret project created by Section 6.
So, what is the definition of a human in a society where the mind can be copied and the body
replaced? When humans live in artificial bodies and artificially intelligent androids learn to feel, are
they any different? Oshii uses the trans human as a theme to speculatively explore the

John C Calhoun s Last Speech Summary
John C. Calhoun was not only a United States statesman, but also a nationalist and outspoken
supporter of the slave and plantation system in the pre Civil War South. In his early days as a War
Hawk and congressman, Calhoun helped to guide the United States into war with Great Britain. He
also had a hand in establishing the Second Bank of the U.S. He was in staunch opposition to President
Polk s Mexican American War and admitting California as a free state. He was a very vocal and well
known leader in the fight to have slavery as a secure institution in the South, if not the whole United
States. In the late 1820 s, Calhoun drafted an Exposition and Protest for the South Carolina legislative
body, thus beginning the Nullification Crisis faced ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Calhoun then warned that Southerners would feel bound by every consideration of interest and safety
to defend it (Calhoun, 1850). Calhoun clearly believes that the initial balance of power in the country
was destroyed, and the majority of power now resides in the North. At the time he wrote this speech,
the North had 20 states and 40 senators, compared to the 14 Southern states with 28 senators
(Calhoun, 1850). Calhoun lays the blame of the destruction of equilibrium between the states at the
feet of the legislative government in the forms of the South being excluded from the common territory
belonging to all the states (Calhoun, 1850), and disproportional taxation on the South and Southern
imports with a large portion of proceeds going to the North. This was a commonly held belief in the
South, and many were angered by much of their revenue and wealth going to the North in the guise of
taxes and tariffs. They blamed this redistribution of money as unfairly benefiting and adding to the
wealth of the North. They saw this imbalance also as an encouragement to immigrants to stay in the
North, which also increased the wealth and population there. Calhoun himself spoke of this, and again
stated that the loss of equilibrium is to be attributed to the action of the government (Calhoun, 1850).

Does Residential Segregation Shape The Social Life Of Cities
This essay will attempt to show evidence that supports the question Does residential segregation shape
the social life of cities and people s sense of who they are by using different types of evidence, such as
qualitative, which comes from interviews, focus groups, or even pictures and other artistic endeavours
like murals. Whilst quantitative is obtained from statistics, surveys and records. Evidence will be
looked at by what has appeared over time, looking at the growth of Manchester during 1800 s, with
migration of people from the country side, to the city to take up jobs of an industrial nature and how
segregation kept the wealthy and workers apart and the inequalities of conditions they lived in. Then

Oxford Dictionary of Sociology says it s the social process that results in certain individuals or social
groups being kept apart with little or no interaction between them and how this process erects social

All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque is a powerful war novel that presents the
theme of comradeship through war. The theme of comradeship embodies the idea that war has created

After Paul returns from his leave, he realizes that his fellow soldiers are the most comforting thing

This administrator was only recently appointed after the previous lieutenant left the sheriff s office for
an opening at one of the higher paying city police departments. However, the FTO s current role is to
merely to organize in service training, field complaints, and meet the basic state requirements of the
law enforcement agency. The FTO does not actually train new officers in the field as the title implies.
Consequently, the detriments imposed by the agency s lack of training officers extends beyond the
patrol division. Due to recent budget increases, three new investigators were detailed to the General
Assignment division of CID. Because of the antiquated management structure of the department, one
of these detectives was recently called to work a homicide, despite having no experience or training in
crime scene investigation. While other veteran detectives assisted in the investigation, and the
Tennessee Bureau of Investigation was eventually contacted for support, all this occurred after this
novice investigator had disturbed the scene. The case remains unsolved. With the exception of a single
captain, all other detectives working in CID hold the same rank. Therefore, it is cumbersome to

The life of Marie Curie and her Einstein Number
Marie Curie, born Maria Sklodowska was born in Warsaw, Poland. Gaining her basic education in
public schools and some of her scientific training from her father. As a student she became involved in
a Student s Revolutionary organization and found it necessary to leave Warsaw. This move helping to
give her the means to begin her longstanding career in science. She would eventually become one of
the most famous women in science to date, an icon in the scientific community. Achieving many
accolades such as scientific awards and tributes for accomplishments for her humanitarian efforts
during WWI. The physical and societal aspects of her work contributed to shaping the world of the
nineteenth and twentieth centuries. All of this contributed to how her life came to relate to the life of
Albert Einstein. In 1891 she decided to go to paris, this marked the beginning of her career in science.
Once in paris, she studied at the Sorbonne where she received her Licenciateships in physics and the
Mathematical sciences. Then in 1894 she met a professor by the name of Pierre Curie while searching
for larger lab space. Though Pierre didn t have a large laboratory, he was able to find some space for
her to work. It wasn t long before their mutual interest in science drew them together and they were
married a year later. Marie did not accept Pierres first proposal though, as she was still planning on

Psychological Relationship between the Sensory Affective...
Psychological Relationship between the Sensory Affective Dimensions of Pain Pain can be described
in a number of different ways, but is determined by the perception of pain that they are experiencing.
Pain is something that comes from our experiences and develops due to stimulation and human
interaction. It involves concepts such as location, feelings of unpleasantness and having the sensation
of pain. Pain becomes possible because of a psychological development that begins at birth (Challies).
The sensory pain is the quality of the pain experienced in a particular location and is often described
as a sensational form of hurt. The affective pain is described as an emotional experience in which pain
is perceived by the individual. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Neuropathic pain is a form of chronic pain that affects nerve fibers and the affected fibers send
incorrect signals to the area causing pain on and around the area. What is Pain? Pain is created by
activation of nociceptors in the skin that respond to different types of stimulation. Signals from the
nociceptors are transmitted to the spinal cord and then from the dorsal root of the spinal cord along
pathways that lead to the brain (Goldstein). Pain travels from the nervous system to the spinal cord
and then finally reaches the brain where it processes what has happened and associates that with pain.
However, it is difficult to define exactly what pain is because it varies with each person. While it may
seem simple, the process of detecting pain is complicated by the fact that it is not a one way system. It
isn t even a two way system. Pain is more than just cause and effect: it is affected by everything else
that is going on in the nervous system. Your mood, your past experiences and your expectations can
all change the way pain is interpreted at any given time (Jacques).
Sensory and Affective dimensions of Pain Multiple factors contribute to pain unpleasantness, and
several sensory attributes of pain can dispose the individual to unpleasant emotional feelings. The
foremost among these is that sensations of pain are often more intense than other types

An Interpretation of Kant’s Metaphysical Deduction of the...
In what appears to be an important section of the Critique of Pure Reason, when Kant attempts to
show the natural connection between the table of judgment and the table of categories, there is a
cryptic little paragraph:
The same function that gives unity to the different representations in a judgment also gives unity to the
mere synthesis of different representations in an intuition, which, expressed generally, is called the
pure concept of understanding. The same understanding, therefore, and indeed by means of the very
same actions through which it brings the logical form of a judgment into concepts by means of the
analytical unity, also brings a transcendental content into its representations by means of the synthetic
unity of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I will provisionally think of it as referring to the faculty of understanding and not solely one or more
of the pure concepts of the understanding.11 The main interpretive dilemma of this passage revolves
around the term transcendental content. It may be the case that Kant wants to contrast the
Transcendental Logic s possession of objective content with general logic s lack of content. However
the term could also refer to the fact that the understanding has a transcendental function, and could be
indicating the transcendental nature of the categories. Each of these interpretations will be evaluated in
turn.
The Argument
At its most basic, with all the explanatory clauses stripped away the argument appears thus:22
P1 The Understanding gives unity to different representations in a judgment
P2 The Understanding gives unity to the synthesis of representations in an intuition.
C The Understanding Brings Transcendental Content to its representations.
Need anymore be said?33 The argument is easier to follow, though by no means clear, if we take into
account a missing or explanatory premise:
PE The very actions that brings the logical form of a judgment to concepts also brings a transcendental
content into the understanding s representations.
The most important element of the argument is the fact that it is the very same actions which allow
logical forms to be used in contentful judgments that necessitate the transcendental role of the

Relationship Between Psychological Empowerment And Job...
ew This study examines the relationship between psychological empowerment and job satisfaction
among Saudi women working in private enterprises. Specifically, this research attempts to examine
the relationship between the psychological dimensions of empowerment (i.e., meaning, competence,
impact, and self determination) and overall level of job satisfaction among the participants. The
following section includes some of the literature studies relevant to the relationship between
psychological empowerment and job satisfaction. Several studies have shown that psychological
empowerment has an effect on job satisfaction in a positive way. However, the results of such an
effect varies when dealing with the relationship between each individual dimension of psychological
empowerment (i.e. meaning, competence, impact, and self determination) and job satisfaction. For
example, Spreitzer, Kizilos and Nason (1997) found a positive relationship between the meaning
cognition of psychological empowerment and job satisfaction among a primary sample of lower level
employees working in the insurance sector and a secondary sample of mid level employees working in
industrial sector. It was evident in this study that competence (secondary sample) and self
determination (primary sample) cognitions were less related to job satisfaction than the meaning
dimension (in both samples). Surprisingly, the impact cognition had no effect on job satisfaction in
either samples. Similar results were found

Inequality In Plato s Phaedo
Reconstruction
Importantly, one needs to recall that Plato holds the human is a union of two distinct entities body and
soul he considers death to be their separation. In Phaedo, he expressly uses our notion of equality to
illustrate the way in which humans recollect knowledge (as Socrates recollection theory of knowledge
holds). His his argument from recollection posits that the soul immortal.
When we (humans) perceive sensible things that are equal in the world, we see these as deficient in
their equality. (74d 74e)
Equal things (which we perceive) and Equality itself are not the same. (74b 74c)
When we see the deficiency in perceived equality, it prompts us to recollect Equality itself. (74c 74d)
Knowledge of Equality itself ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He says these perceptions are deficient, as sensible things suffer from the compresence of opposites
being both F and not F (e.g., equal and unequal) in different respects, or compared to different things.
Plato refers to a stick as an example of a sensible thing. For premise 1, imagine we have three sticks,
the first two are the same length and the third is shorter in length. So, we can say the first two are
equal to one another (in length) and both are not equal to the third stick. Therefore, sticks cannot be
equal full stop, but are equal to one stick and unequal to the other stick. This is the case for all things,
they are both F and not F when compared to different things or objects. Just as Helen of Troy will be
more beautiful compared to some women and less beautiful compared to other women. So, this
deficiency shows there is a distinction between F and F ness, (e.g., equal sticks and Equality itself). In
essence, our perceived knowledge of equal things and objects are distinct from Equality itself, in
premise 2. He says, We say that there is something that is equal. I do not mean a stick equal to a stick
or stone equal to a stone...but something else beyond all of these, the Equal itself.

Lao Tzu is the first person who answered to the problem of the origin of the universe. Lao Tzu

most well known. It is about how Emily has a strange addict of measuring each grief she meets. She
compares the grief of others to her own but always goes back to her own sadness. She does this to try
to obtain comfort for herself.
Emily Dickinson was born on December 10th in Amherst Massachusetts. Her parents were Edward

The Interpretation of Nature in Classical Chinese Garden of Suzhou and Japanese Dry Landscape
Garden of Ryoan ji Luis Barragán, the influential Mexican minimalist architect and Pritzker Prize
winner once said that, In the creation of a garden, the architect invites the partnership of the Kingdom
of Nature. In a beautiful garden the majesty of nature is ever present, but it is nature reduced to human
proportions and thus transformed into the most efficient haven against the aggressiveness of
contemporary life. Such design principle, with a strong emphasis on the unity of man and nature as a
way to build freedom and independence in the natural environment of gardens away from the unrest
social political atmosphere, has not only been seen in Western minimalist architecture, but also has
been extensively utilized in Classical Asian architecture. Classical Chinese Garden of Suzhou and
Japanese Dry Landscape Garden are two typical examples that demonstrate such harmonious
coexistence between artificiality and nature. Thus, with a focus on a comparison between the selected
examples of Humble Administrator s Garden of Suzhou (see fig. 1) and Ryoan ji Dry Landscape
Garden (see fig. 2), this essay aims to analyze the design techniques of the two gardens and how they
respond to their social political and religious environments by conveying different interpretations of
nature. Garden of the Humble Administrator, which consists of numerous pavilions and bridges set

Essay on Paul Robeson
Paul Robeson was a famous African American athlete, singer, actor and advocate for the civil rights of
people around the world. He rose to prominence in a time when segregation was legal in America and
black people were being lynched by white mobs, especially in the South.
Born on April 9, 1898 in Princeton, New Jersey, Paul Robeson was the youngest of five children. His
father was a runaway slave who went on to graduate from Lincoln University, and his mother came
from a family of Quakers who worked for the abolition of slavery. His family was familiar with
hardship and the determination to rise above it. His own life was no less challenging.

Discussion: In this lab, we needed to determine the percent calcium carbonate in a heterogenous

Carbonate is found in many different types of substances and formulations. It is an important
inorganic compound found in the Earth s crust. We also used the idea of standard temperature and

lifted his eyes up to the tall, barbed wire fence towering in front of them. It seemed no less terrifying

Edith and Fredrick could hear unsettling noises crying, begging, banging doors, angry shouts. Mama
hastily shoved parcels of food into their pockets. For later, in case you get hungry, my darlings, she
said, kissing their foreheads. Then came the loud banging and shouting at the front door, startling them
all. Papa turned to Fredrick and knelt, staring earnestly into his eyes. Fredrick, hold on tight to your

my precious little angel, Edith. Your Ma and I love you both very much. Be brave. The next moments
were a blur. The children were ushered outside, where army trucks parked in the streets were fast

The Communist Manifesto And Walden
In the publications The Communist Manifesto and Walden, Karl Mark and Henry David Thoreau
express the prevailing issues of a flawed functioning society. Marx conveys the economic instability
of his imperfect civilization, while Thoreau states the materialistic difficulties that prevail in his. Both
authors portray a goal to pursue harmony throughout their societies but differentiate in their ways of
achieving such freedom. Throughout The Communist Manifesto, Marx expresses the political,
economic and social turmoil that were present in their society. During this time period, agriculture
production was the main occupation. This resulted in a class struggle between the landowners and the
serfs who labored the land. A new, manufacturing class emerged from this conflict called the
bourgeoisie. Bourgeoisie changed the focus from agriculture to industrialization and commerce.
Having less dexterity and strength [that] is required in manual labor, [helps] modern industry develop

the bourgeoisie control global and domestic trade. They eventually reached a point where they were
inhibited by the feudal government and could not progress at the original rate they were going.
Resulting from this, the French Revolution occurred and the bourgeoisie demolished the aristocracy
that was originally present during this primitive time. Unfortunately, this did not resolve the primary

Leadership Qualities Of A Leader
Introduction
Leadership, as u can easily know the meaning from the word. It is basically a process where a person
influences others to ensure that they reach their goals, directs the organization towards success.
However, it also depends on how effective the leader is and on the followers interests. It can basically
be termed as teamwork, where an individual (a leader) influences a group of people to make sure that
they achieve the goal.

I will identify few of the strengths and weaknesses, which I found out through the research I did about
the ENFJs on the intranet. According to Keirsey Bates, only 5% population in general has the ENFJ
leadership style. ENFJs may find themselves feeling responsible for the feelings of others to an extent,
which places a burden on the relationship (Keirsey Bates, 1984).
I found some of the strengths in me, which is common for most of ENFJs. All the personalities are not
same and it may vary person to person though. One of the common strengths I found is I am a very
reliable and tolerant person and yes, this is very true of myself. People I know have trust on my
decision. They found me reliable and they know I am a very tolerant person in any strange situations. I
always listen to them, value their opinions and try to help and see it through. I am always ready to take
a stand and avoid the contradiction. Most ENFJs are like that and they usually avoid contradictions.
ENFJs are selfless and so am I. I didn t realize this quality in me before I did the assessment of myself.

that is because most Information Technology applications deal with accounting transactions. The issue
with this chain of command is that most corporate controllers can authorize and record certain

duties can be accomplished by IT managers reporting to Human Resources so that all changes are

jobs that required any discipline or training whatsoever were inherently jobs for men (Braybon 150).
This left women to do many domestic jobs, such as: cooking, washing, ironing and other jobs one
would associate with a housewife ( Home Front ). One of the most common (real) jobs for women
before the war was being a school teacher, because it was not physical and the only necessary
prerequisites was good education. By 1911, there was an estimated 187,000 teachers in Britain ( Home
Front ). Many women of a middle class social standing viewed their own jobs as temporary , as they
were urged to stop working when marriage was an option (Braybon 150). It was common that lower
class women had to constantly jump in and out of work according to their volatile financial needs;
they were very underestimated and undervalued by bosses from work industries (Braybon 151). On
the other hand, middle class (white) women rarely worked after they got married

Jeannette Walls Conclusion
It can be said that despite literal simplicity some objects or places have a much deeper metaphorical
meaning to certain individuals. For Jeannette Walls, the Glass Castle is more than just the title of her
memoir. To begin, Jeannette lived most of her childhood in poverty, running from town to town in
order to avoid federal agents who are actually just bill collectors. Even so, the family dreamed of a
much brighter future in a place called the Glass Castle. Jeannette s father, Rex Walls, planned A great
big house he was going to build for us in the desert. It would have a glass ceiling and thick glass walls
and even a glass staircase...solar cells on the top that would catch the sun s rays...even have its own
water purification system ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, it meant pulling themselves out of poverty and living a lavish lifestyle. In reality, they
would never build the Glass Castle, mainly due to Rex s inability to hold a job and make enough
money. Although this may be true, the Glass Castle was what held Rex and the children s relationship
together. Furthermore, when times became arduous, [Rex would] pull the blueprints out and let us
work on the design for our rooms (Walls 25). It kept their faith in Rex alive, even when he didn t
deserve it, as the Glass Castle was complete fiction and failed to do anything but give Jeannette and
her siblings false hope. Rex s plans for the future were flamboyant, but tended to resemble glass
fragile and elusive. With this in mind, as long as Jeannette lived with her parents, the improvement in
her quality of life would be too little and insignificant to mean anything. This reality begins to set in
when she is a teenager, starting when she lived in Welch, West Virginia. Brian, her brother, and
Jeannette take matters into their own hands and dig a hole for the foundation. Just like all his other
promises, Rex fails to actually set the foundation, so Brian and [Jeanette] watched the hole for the
Glass Castle s foundation slowly filled with garbage (Walls

Power Vs. Subservience In Breaking Bad
Power vs. subservience as a theme in Breaking Bad reoccurs throughout the series. Some instances
include how Jesse is treated throughout the series; the viewers question whether Walt really thinks of
Jesse as an equal partner, or if Gus thinks of Jesse as a worthy adversary. Considering how many
problems they have, do Walt and/or Gus think of Jesse as his dog , or does he think of Jesse as a
capable person? A connection of this reoccurring behavior can be compared to The Trial, how K was
treated like a dog. There is an episode in Breaking Bad called Kafkaesque, where different themes
come together between Breaking Bad and The Trial. I argue that Vince Gilligan had The Trial in his
mind while creating and plotting Breaking Bad, and tried to connect to the theme of power vs.
subservience by the use of The Trial. The term, Kafkaesque, refers to Franz Kafka, in how he created
worlds with burden, guilt, isolation, and anxiety. It can be seen in The Trial, how it had a gloomy,
depressing feel to it. In chapter 9 of The Trial (In The Cathedral), there is a part in which K. goes to a
cathedral late at night to wait for an Italian man. He later begins to talk to a priest (who was also the
prison chaplain). The priest was then telling K. of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Granted Walt is in a high position than Jesse, but at this point in Breaking Bad, Walt is not the most
powerful person. Gus is the most powerful person; he is that last gate in terms of the trial. You see
how Walt does not ask Gus about money situation, where together Walt Jesse make $3 million, $1.5
million dollars each. And according to Jesse, Gus keeps $95 million dollars. Instead of going to Gus to
discuss this, Walt just stays silent about it, telling Jesse, You re a millionaire and you re complaining?
Jesse does not know what is going on, and Walt refuses to ask Gus about

Jack s values and behavior reflect those of his friends. Is Jack a leader or easily influenced by others
The novel This Boy s Life was written by Tobias Wolff. In the novel, we follow Jack and his

that the friends that Jack has at Concrete High were unreliable and immature. Also we see that how
Jack was growing up, he was influenced by many males by their irresponsible behavior and how it

Facilities Management in the Service Industry
This essay revolves around the critical evaluation of theories relating to management of
accommodations and facilities that can be utilised to help hotels design efficient and effective
processes. The key concepts such as process, efficiency, and effectiveness will be discussed while
justifying the methods of process analysis or design which will be highlighted in this essay. All these
topics will be critically evaluated in order to incorporate the operations management concepts of
quality, in the application of accommodation and facilities to add value and deliver efficient and
effective quality customer centric services.
Accommodation and facilities management is a complex social system which cannot be explained in
terms of a simple ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hence, service quality should be seen as an on going process (Pallet et al, 2003) and the above QFD
model helps incorporate guests view and take into account the heterogeneity and complexity of the
hospitality experience which was not evident in the previously built models.
At the operations management (OM) level, an output based model of seven key result areas (KRAs)
for the management of the service delivery system can be used as the analytical framework, derived
from Lockwood and Jones (1990) cited in Slack et al (2007). The managed KRAs are assets,
employees, capacity (or customers), productivity, service, income (or control), and quality. Within
each area of this model there are a range of alternative operational policies and procedures that might
be adopted to reflect the type of hospitality business, its size, and its technology. For instance, yield
management is an approach to managing capacity in hotels, especially large, chain properties (Jarvis et
al., 1998); quality control is applied largely in quick service restaurants, whereas total quality
management (TQM) has been applied to a few hotels, such as Ritz Carlton.
Quality is not an absolute term. A product can be of high or low standard, yet still be of quality. For
e.g. a small barely furnished guest room, with shared bathroom facilities is a quality product if it is
perceived by the customers as fulfilling their needs for clean and comfortable overnight
accommodation. However, such a

The Physics Of The Cloud
The life (and, sometimes, death) cycle of a star begins when gravity triumphs over heat. This results in
a cloud, composed of gasses and minerals, losing balance, and beginning to contract. Balance for the
cloud is not restored, until several radical changes have been experienced by the cloud, and have,
subsequently, altered the cloud.
Stars start their early stages in the form of the above aforementioned, as what is known as an
interstellar cloud. Following the creation of this cloud, the star then passes through seven basic
evolutionary stages. Characteristics of these seven stages are various centralised temperatures
including those on the surface densities, and sizes, of the pre star object. The process begins with a
cold, dark, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, if a star is born, these clouds can become unstable, and can even collapse under their own
gravity resulting in them breaking up into much smaller pieces of their original forms. Evidence
suggests that this process is triggered as the result of an external event a shock wave of nearby stellar
explosions [supernova] or, perhaps, the pressure wave ripple of another cloud as it forms a star and
ionises its own surroundings. An additional theory suggests that a magnetic field is responsible for the
cloud retaining its form and then fading away as its charged particles drift off into space, thus the
leftover gasses are unable to support the cloud s remaining weight.
Over a few million years, the collapsing process is thought to produce several smaller clouds which
have broken off from the parent cloud after it has become unstable and which, in turn, copy the parent
by collapsing, breaking apart, and so on. All of these theories, however different, result in the same
conclusion: the formation of several different types of stars, which a single interstellar cloud can then
produce.
Stage 2 of a star s formation is the Cloud Fragment stage. This stage occurs in one of the
aforementioned fragments of cloud which have broken off from the parent cloud. Cloud fragments
which might then become stars will contain between one and two Sols of material [Sols are a unit of
measurement] and will appear as

Similarities Between The Inferno And The Odyssey
An epic is a long narrative poem that relates the great deeds of a larger than life hero who embodies
the values of a particular society. A comedy is a literary genre and a type of dramatic work that starts
off with an unpleasant scenario and ends up with a happy ending. The Odyssey, by Homer, and The
Inferno, by Dante Alighieri, are both comedic epics because they both start off with very distasteful
events and end happily, has a broad setting that includes supernatural realms such as the Underworld,
and gods, plus some other supernaturals, become involved in the character s journey. The undesirable
beginning that The Odyssey starts off with, which is the comedy s distinctive, is that people think
Odysseus is dead or lost somewhere, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

  • 2. Emricism Vs Rationalism Evangelicalism resulted from a combination of the Protestant Reformation in Europe and the Great Awakening in the American colonies. Evangelicals believe in the authority of Scripture and its practical application to everyday life. They believe that one must be born again, and that a person is saved through grace. Also, they believe that the church is made up of all those who are born again. They believe that Jesus is at the center of everything. They believe in the Great Commission, spreading the good news to all nations. Charles Finney was an evangelical who emphasized the concept of free will. He believed that God gave us rules defining what is right and wrong, and the freedom to choose whether to do what is right or wrong. He would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Per Bernard Ramm, This new movement has been called crisis theology because it so emphasized God s judgement on man; Barthianism, because it stems from the original thoughts of Karl Barth; neo orthodoxy because it dissevers itself from liberalism and seeks to recover the insights of the Reformers Karl Barth emphasized the word of God as something that grabs hold of us. He believed that God reveals himself through Scripture. Barth came up with the concepts of the revealed word, the written word, and the proclaimed word, and he reinforced these three concepts by relating them with the doctrine of the Trinity. The revealed word refers to the moment in which we receive God s revelation, when God speaks directly to us. The written word refers to the Bible, and the witness to the event of God s revelation . The whole Bible directs us toward Christ. The proclaimed word refers to the declaration and preaching of God s word, which also bears witness to the revealed word . Barth believed that the written word and the proclaimed word had the potential to be flawed because of man s involvement with writing and preaching Scripture. The revealed word could only occur when God decided to speak directly to an individual or through an individual preaching to a group. Hebrews 4:12 states, For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of ... Introduction to the literature review The following headings cover the theory and literature relevant to this study. The literature review is divided into four distinct sections: Economic growth, productivity, industrial robot density and its effect on labour. 2.2. Economic growth models 2.2.1. The Solow economic growth model and the Solow residual Burda Severgnini (2014) stated that that for half a century the Solow decomposition and residual theory have been used to define and measure the productivity component of growth in economics and management. The work by Solow (1957) remains influential, as it broke the limitations of the contemporary and restrictive labour and capital input growth models of the period. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The so called Solow residual can be explained by the phenomenon where the growth rate in output exceeds that of the growth rate of inputs (Ten Raa, 2011). This paved the way for the contribution of productivity as a metric contribution to economic growth theory, and in this context why the increased productivity effected through ever advancing robotic technologies and rate of implementation are important to study. Robert Solow s research was core to theoretical concepts of which the Solow residual, total factor productivity (TFP), the Solow decomposition and the Neo classical growth model were relevant to this research. Robert Solow s (1956) seminal essay titled: A contribution to the theory of economic growth introduced the framework for the development of the neo classical growth model. • 4. Male Victims Of Female Victims VICTIM BLAMING As stated above, one reason males being raped by females is not commonly known is because victims blame themselves. Male victims of rape, like female victims, are likely to be blamed by others for their own rape (Anderson, 2004). When victims blame themselves multiple questions run through their mind to where in the end they blame themselves for the action occurring and not want to tell anyone due to fear of embarrassment. Due to stereotypes, multiple studies have shown that male victims of rape are being blame for their assault. Male victims tend to be blamed more than female victims on behavior blame measures, due to societal stereotypes that a man should be able to defend for themselves (Davies and Rogers, 2006). However, women are not expected to be able to defend for themselves. While male victims are held responsible for the rape on account of their behavior during the attack, female victims are attributed more blame on account of their internal characteristics (Doherty and Anderson, 2004). Stating that males are blamed for not being masculine enough to fight off their attacker and females are blamed for putting themselves in that situation when they should have been safer. The fact that males can be victims of rape challenges may beliefs about men s masculinity. • 5. John Steinbeck s East of Eden Biblical Symbolism in East of Eden Throughout the novel East of Eden, Steinbeck uses many biblical references to illustrate clearly the conflict between the opposing forces of good and evil. Much of the plot of East of Eden is centered upon the two sets of brothers representing Cain and Abel. Both pairs are similar to Cain and Abel in the way they go about winning their fathers favors. All four give gifts to their fathers, and the fathers dismiss the gifts of Charles and Caleb, the Cain representations (Marks, Jay Lester. p.121). She is not only Eve, but she is Cain s wife and the serpent of Eden as well (Fonterose, Joseph. p.3380). Thus she is the representation of evil too. Cathy is evil to the point where she is not human. Her presence in the novel is meant to represent evil and all of its cruel intentions. All of her deeds are intended to show how far from the real world Cathy actually is (Howard, Levant. p. 245). Steinbeck compares Cathy to other prostitutes in Salinas Valley, the setting of East of Eden. She is described as the only whore who is incapable of being a good person. She is an inhuman being whose life revolves around cruelty and wrongdoing. She is solely satanic and destroys the innocence of man (Marks, Jay Lester. p. 126 127). John Steinbeck includes more of the tale of Genesis: 4 than is actually told in the bible. The basis of this is a Jewish story involving twin sisters of both Cain and Abel. The two disputed over Abel s twin whom Abel was to marry. Cain murdered Abel and wed the twin sister of his brother (Fonterose, Joseph. p.3380). The story differs also in that it is Abel who leaves his home instead of Cain. Abel found his Eden, represented by Salinas Valley, but lost it after fathering a second generation very similar to the first, Caleb representing Cain and Aron representing Abel (Fonterose, Joseph. p.3379). It was of course censored to slaves and left out some very meticulous details but it still had that feel of racism, the stereotypes, and all the things that had been labeled controversial, now and then. It s sense of adventure and freedom left me and I m sure people with the feeling that anything was possible through freedom and adventure, the very things symbolized my America. It would be an absolute travesty to remove Huckleberry Finn from our curriculum as it offers so much and portrays the real life that existed for African Americans during the 1840s. It has adventure, daring, morals, complex emotions, and most of all an overtone of American pride that can always be useful to younger generations that are still learning the term. Neuropathic pain is a form of chronic pain that affects nerve fibers and the affected fibers send incorrect signals to the area causing pain on and around the area. What is Pain? Pain is created by activation of nociceptors in the skin that respond to different types of stimulation. Signals from the nociceptors are transmitted to the spinal cord and then from the dorsal root of the spinal cord along pathways that lead to the brain (Goldstein). Pain travels from the nervous system to the spinal cord and then finally reaches the brain where it processes what has happened and associates that with pain. For example, Spreitzer, Kizilos and Nason (1997) found a positive relationship between the meaning cognition of psychological empowerment and job satisfaction among a primary sample of lower level employees working in the insurance sector and a secondary sample of mid level employees working in industrial sector. It was evident in this study that competence (secondary sample) and self determination (primary sample) cognitions were less related to job satisfaction than the meaning dimension (in both samples). Surprisingly, the impact cognition had no effect on job satisfaction in either samples. Similar results were found ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 25. Inequality In Plato s Phaedo Reconstruction Importantly, one needs to recall that Plato holds the human is a union of two distinct entities body and soul he considers death to be their separation. In Phaedo, he expressly uses our notion of equality to illustrate the way in which humans recollect knowledge (as Socrates recollection theory of knowledge holds). His his argument from recollection posits that the soul immortal. When we (humans) perceive sensible things that are equal in the world, we see these as deficient in their equality. (74d 74e) Equal things (which we perceive) and Equality itself are not the same. (74b 74c) When we see the deficiency in perceived equality, it prompts us to recollect Equality itself. (74c 74d) Knowledge of Equality itself ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He says these perceptions are deficient, as sensible things suffer from the compresence of opposites being both F and not F (e.g., equal and unequal) in different respects, or compared to different things. Plato refers to a stick as an example of a sensible thing. For premise 1, imagine we have three sticks, the first two are the same length and the third is shorter in length. So, we can say the first two are equal to one another (in length) and both are not equal to the third stick. Therefore, sticks cannot be equal full stop, but are equal to one stick and unequal to the other stick. This is the case for all things, they are both F and not F when compared to different things or objects. Just as Helen of Troy will be more beautiful compared to some women and less beautiful compared to other women. So, this deficiency shows there is a distinction between F and F ness, (e.g., equal sticks and Equality itself). In essence, our perceived knowledge of equal things and objects are distinct from Equality itself, in premise 2. He says, We say that there is something that is equal. I do not mean a stick equal to a stick or stone equal to a stone...but something else beyond all of these, the Equal itself. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Interpretation of Nature in Classical Chinese Garden of Suzhou and Japanese Dry Landscape Garden of Ryoan ji Luis Barragán, the influential Mexican minimalist architect and Pritzker Prize winner once said that, In the creation of a garden, the architect invites the partnership of the Kingdom of Nature. In a beautiful garden the majesty of nature is ever present, but it is nature reduced to human proportions and thus transformed into the most efficient haven against the aggressiveness of contemporary life. Such design principle, with a strong emphasis on the unity of man and nature as a way to build freedom and independence in the natural environment of gardens away from the unrest social political atmosphere, has not only been seen in Western minimalist architecture, but also has been extensively utilized in Classical Asian architecture. All these topics will be critically evaluated in order to incorporate the operations management concepts of quality, in the application of accommodation and facilities to add value and deliver efficient and effective quality customer centric services. Accommodation and facilities management is a complex social system which cannot be explained in terms of a simple ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hence, service quality should be seen as an on going process (Pallet et al, 2003) and the above QFD model helps incorporate guests view and take into account the heterogeneity and complexity of the hospitality experience which was not evident in the previously built models. At the operations management (OM) level, an output based model of seven key result areas (KRAs) for the management of the service delivery system can be used as the analytical framework, derived from Lockwood and Jones (1990) cited in Slack et al (2007). The managed KRAs are assets, employees, capacity (or customers), productivity, service, income (or control), and quality. Within each area of this model there are a range of alternative operational policies and procedures that might be adopted to reflect the type of hospitality business, its size, and its technology. For instance, yield management is an approach to managing capacity in hotels, especially large, chain properties (Jarvis et al., 1998); quality control is applied largely in quick service restaurants, whereas total quality management (TQM) has been applied to a few hotels, such as Ritz Carlton. Quality is not an absolute term. A product can be of high or low standard, yet still be of quality. For e.g. a small barely furnished guest room, with shared bathroom facilities is a quality product if it is perceived by the customers as fulfilling their needs for clean and comfortable overnight accommodation. • 47. The Physics Of The Cloud The life (and, sometimes, death) cycle of a star begins when gravity triumphs over heat. This results in a cloud, composed of gasses and minerals, losing balance, and beginning to contract. Balance for the cloud is not restored, until several radical changes have been experienced by the cloud, and have, subsequently, altered the cloud. Stars start their early stages in the form of the above aforementioned, as what is known as an interstellar cloud. Following the creation of this cloud, the star then passes through seven basic evolutionary stages. Characteristics of these seven stages are various centralised temperatures including those on the surface densities, and sizes, of the pre star object. The process begins with a cold, dark, ... However, if a star is born, these clouds can become unstable, and can even collapse under their own gravity resulting in them breaking up into much smaller pieces of their original forms. Evidence suggests that this process is triggered as the result of an external event a shock wave of nearby stellar explosions [supernova] or, perhaps, the pressure wave ripple of another cloud as it forms a star and ionises its own surroundings. An additional theory suggests that a magnetic field is responsible for the cloud retaining its form and then fading away as its charged particles drift off into space, thus the leftover gasses are unable to support the cloud s remaining weight. Over a few million years, the collapsing process is thought to produce several smaller clouds which have broken off from the parent cloud after it has become unstable and which, in turn, copy the parent by collapsing, breaking apart, and so on. All of these theories, however different, result in the same conclusion: the formation of several different types of stars, which a single interstellar cloud can then produce. Stage 2 of a star s formation is the Cloud Fragment stage. This stage occurs in one of the aforementioned fragments of cloud which have broken off from the parent cloud. Cloud fragments which might then become stars will contain between one and two Sols of material [Sols are a unit of measurement] and will appear as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A comedy is a literary genre and a type of dramatic work that starts off with an unpleasant scenario and ends up with a happy ending.
