Teaching Reading Comprehension And Fluency
Reading comprehension and fluency are explored in chapters three and four. The authors of chapter
three review what they feel to be ten essential elements of teaching reading comprehension. It only
stands to reason that a child s knowledge of the world around them greatly affects their
comprehension, especially while reading expository text. However, not all students enter the
classroom with the same amount of this world knowledge . I have had students who have summered in
Europe and students who have never left the state all in the same classroom. Teachers must provide
differentiation in instruction, as well opportunities to engage in a wide variety of texts to build domain
and world knowledge to support reading comprehension. As a STEM lab instructor and lover of
children s literacy, I am intrigued by the, Seeds of Science/Roots of Reading, program referenced in
chapter three. I am continuously looking for ways to use literature to introduce my STEM topics. Not
only are world knowledge and exposure to various genres essential elements in reading
comprehension, but students should also be motiviated! Students should enjoy what they read. I
appreciate how the authors refer to this as the will and thrill, not just the skill . Before we can teach
strategies, text structure, and engage students in meaningful discussions, they need to get hooked on
the idea of reading. By keeping a reading journal, students can have the opportunity to write about
their favorite

Comparison Of Jane Austen s Sense And Sensibility
On December 16, 1775, Jane Austen was born in Steventon, Hampshire, England. She was born into a
middle class family. Her father was Reverend George Austen, a member of the clergy, and her mother
was Cassandra Leigh who came from a higher social rank. Jane was the second daughter of a family
of eight, and she was closest to the eldest sister Cassandra. From this information alone, there is a
pattern present in Jane s work. She tends to write romance fiction novels about middle class England.
Her characters in Sense and Sensibility are generally from the middle class, and the main characters
are females and siblings. Likewise, the eldest sister has amiable traits, and the younger sibling admires
her as Jane views her eldest sister in real ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Inheritance is a very important topic in Sense and Sensibility since Jane stresses how Mr. John
Dashwood acquires all of Mr. Dashwood s money after his death while his sisters get nothing. Jane s
cousin, Elizabeth Hancock, married a French aristocrat by the name of Jean Capotte. In Sense and
Sensibility, marriage is a highly relevant factor in society, for marriage determines stability and
wealth. Hence, Willoughby marries Miss Grey rather than Marianne, the woman he loves, due to Miss
Grey s fortune. Meanwhile, Mrs. Ferrars abandons her son, Edward Ferrars, after he marries a woman
without fortune. Although Jane almost married Harris Big Wither, Jane and Cassandra both remained
unmarried. Additionally, there are aspects of Jane s life that may have contributed to her career as a
writer. Anne Lefroy was an important friend of Jane Austen. Also known as Madam Lefroy, she was a
writer, fond of literature, and kind to the poor (Kelly). Subsequently, she encouraged [Jane s]
intellectual development and may have influenced Jane s occupation as a writer (Kelly). Within the
Austen household, reading was a common way to pass the time, so one family member would read
aloud to the rest. A person s ability to read aloud was considered a valuable skill. In the same way,
Jane s characters in Sense and Sensibility compare and judge each other by skill set, which includes
one s ability to read with passion and style. The characters may also judge

Act 5 sc 3 and Act 3 sc 3 in Shakespeare s Coriolanus Essay
A tragedy typically deals with the downfall of an important character, in a serious play, via a fatal
flaw. The audience would feel upset for the character as his weakness is not his fault and his in his
nature. A tragedy has an unhappy ending or ongoing poignant events and during Act 5 sc3 and Act 3
sc3 in Shakespeare?s Coriolanus many of these take place.
Coriolanus? weakness is his honesty. As we see later others know how to manipulate this which in
turn brings him to his demise. Although he is modest and honourable the common people despise him
as he is arrogant about his fighting skills and constantly insults them. ?You dissentious rouges, that,

tragedy to life. This scene is controlled by the tribunes; they have hatched a plan to bring Coriolanus
to his exile, ?Put him to choler straight.? They know that he will speak what?s in his heart if he is
aggravated enough and they know exactly how to control him. They know that he is a proud man and
has a strong nature which causes him not retaliate to insults to his character. The tribunes, mainly
Sicinius and Brutus, feel that if Coriolanus runs for consul than he would have too much power. In the
scene they try to prove to the plebeians that all Coriolanus? actions are to take total control of the city
causing them vote for him to be banished.
Shakespeare has now shown the first trait of Coriolanus? tragedy, he strives to control his anger
towards what is unfolding but finally erupts at being called a traitor when he?s anything but.
Menenius, Coriolanus? close friend, tries to calm Coriolanus praying him to stop but the citizens
erupt, ?To th? rock, to th? rock with him!? playing their part to enrage him more. Shakespeare uses
dramatic devices in this scene to emphasise Coriolanus? feelings. Dramatic devices help to emphasise
how the audience react to the character by stage directions which follow the text, also sound, lighting
and body positioning on stage. These emphasise mood and emotions, and during the RSC production
Coriolanus is being surrounded by the citizens both in speech and on stage adding

Pros And Disadvantages Of Wiretapping
Wiretapping is an essential tool in finding wanted men, but at the same time the Government likes to
abuse this power. Before we get any further I feel I should explain what Wiretapping actually is.
Wiretapping is the practice of connecting a listening device to a telephone line to secretly monitor a
conversation. . Now that s the definition that google gave me so I ll try and explain it in my own
words. Basically after the 9/11 terrorist attacks a new law was passed Called the Patriot Act , Which
stated; Section 215 of the USAPATRIOT Act allows the government to secretly request and obtain
library records for large numbers of individuals without any reason to believe they are involved in
illegal activity. In other words it allowed the Government to easily spy on the ... Show more content

This is a clear abuse of power. It should take a court hearing to even get approved to spy on, yes you
can argue saying they already do that but that s for lower law enforcement. If you think the U.S
Government actively waits to get approval to listen in on us then you re just ignorant beyond
comprehension. They re probably listening in on me right know watching me through my laptop
camera. Like any good debate I will talk about both sides i.e for/against. In all honesty I see this
having a higher against margin than for. Like seriously who likes to get spied on? Weirdos that s who.
Let s get started shall we. wiretapping should it be illegal? Why or why not? The federal power to
wiretap, a central issue during the Bush years, has made a comeback. The White House seems ready to
endorse an expansion of wiretapping laws to give the federal government greater power to demand
access to Web communications like Facebook chats. Meanwhile, the Associated Press just revealed

Essay On Manchu
The Current Situation and Protection of Manchu
The Manchu is the language of the Man people (also called Manchu people) originated in northeast
China. Manchu was one of the official languages together with Chinese in the Qing Dynasty (1644AD
1912AD). Due to its own demerit in expressing and other social political reasons, nowadays there is
only less than 100 people that still take Manchu as their native language. Measures have been taken by
the government and scholars to save the language from extinction.
Manchu
Manchu belongs to the Altaic family Tungusic Languages. According to Guo (2004), Manchu is the

The Florida Museum Of Natural History
The Florida Museum of Natural History is a government sponsored museum that is incorporated into
the University of Florida in the city of Gainesville. The museum was established by Frank Pickel, a
professor of natural science at the Florida Agricultural College in Lake City, and was dedicated to
understanding, preserving, and interpreting biological diversity and cultural heritage. The state of
Florida formally assumed ownership of the museum in 1917 and established it as part of the state
university system. The purpose of the museum is set by Florida State Statue 1004.56 and requires the
museum to collect and maintain a depository of biological, archaeological, and ethnographic
specimens and materials in sufficient numbers and quantities to provide within the state and region a
base for research on the variety, evolution, and conservation of wild species; the composition,
distribution, importance, and functioning of natural ecosystems; and the distribution of prehistoric and
historic archaeological sites and an understanding of the aboriginal and early European cultures that
occupied them. The major weaknesses of the museum are in the absences of interactive educational
displays, adjuncts for the states educational system, and the inability to reach the vast majority of its
target audience. The collection policy and mission statements require the museum to provide statewide
access of sufficient biological specimens for education and research. The current museum has

Sharing Is Not Always Caring
As a teenager, receiving one s very first cell phone is the first step in establishing popularity. Tweeting,
texting, Instagram ing and publishing life s fails and funnies are the teen social norm and staple to the
lines of communication between other teens. Creativity is put to the test when language is turned into
code (wyd, rotflmbo, ie.) and electronic communication between people sitting across the table from
each other becomes a matter of national security. A peaceful co existence between adults and teens
continues as long as actual communication between both parties is kept to a minimum. But
somewhere along the way, the secret behind the codes was made public, and parents everywhere were
now able to decipher and share the coded information that was not [originally] meant for the rest of
the world communicational anarchy ensued. In the same manner, personal information not meant for
the whole world can cause problems in the lives of those whose information is shared. The right to
collect and share information should be limited to specific government programs or for specific
purposes such as, Family Watchdog and the United States Department of Justice National Sex
Offender Public Website (NSOPW), but not shared beyond that. In order to better understand the
differences between American privacy and American security, we must first take a look at these three
factors: whose information is being obtained or accessed, what and how is the

Importance Of Creative Writing Poetry
Now class this year as part of the first semester you will be writing a collection of poetry. There will
be four poems all in different genres in your collection by the end of the semester...
Oh no. Oh no no no. I cannot write a poem. I don t even like reading poems. How in the world am
supposed to write one, no scratch that four! I can t write four poems! With all this new information my
chest started to feel tight. My mind was spinning trying to figure out how I was going to do this. How
am I not going to fail this class? I cannot write poetry.
Creative Writing class: before the class. When I started my sophomore year of high school I was
already ahead of the game. With two years of high school English under my belt I was ready for what
was next. At first it seemed like I had two options, American Literature or British Literature. With two
English classes done and the knowledge that I had two more remaining ahead of me American or
British Literature did not look all that appealing. I did not love literature classes all that much. They
were fine but I would much rather read for pleasure and not analyze what I read. However, I still
needed two more English credits. This is when I remembered that I had some more options that were
not quite as well known. I remembered that there was also a Creative Writing class that I could take. I
thought that would not be just another literature class. Sure it will be challenging but it could not be
too hard. It sure

The French Revolution Occurred During The Time Periods
The French Revolution occurred during the time periods 1787 to 1799 which shook France. Its climax
reached in 1789 when the ancien regime ended in France. The French Revolution was the most violent
and by far the most universally significant revolution compared to the rest. The initial cause of the
revolution was the social structure of the West. One social structure that was based on the holding of
all land by fees that resulted in the relation of the king to vassal was called the feudal system that
weakened step by step and had already disappeared in certain regions of Europe prior to the
revolution. The feudal system was characterized by homage, legal and military service of tenants, and
punishment. Wealthy commoners, also called ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rousseau was an anti philosophe, he took Montesquieu s theory a step further in which civilization
corrupts rather than nature and that big states are also corrupt, small states are best. During the time, as
France faced heavy expenditure that the wars had brought, the rulers had raised money by taxing the
nobles and clergy and the rulers were backed upon the enlightened despots. There are many causes
that could have contributed to the French Revolution like the peasants were aware of their situation
and were less willing to support the feudal system. The philosophes were well read throughout the
region and questioned many. The government was at the edge of bankruptcy due to their involvement
in the American Revolution because there was a refusal to pay taxes given by the Great Britain King
which ended with the rulers and privileged class become allies with the peasants and non privileged
class. There was many economic factors that started the French revolution also like: crop failures in
1788 and the population increasing. The French Monarchy was vanishing because it was unable to
adapt to the pressures brought onto it which also contributed to the start of the French Revolution. The
Great War lasted 1914 1918 that involved 28 nations around the world. It started with the
assassination of Franz Ferdinand and then Austria Hungary declared war on Serbia. Due to an alliance,

The Controversy Of Race And Authority
Has one ever felt disheartened watching the news and the headlines says that there was another
minority victim in an officer related shooting? Has one ever wondered why race versus authority is
such a huge problem? Has one ever asked how did society get this far as to physically harming law
enforcement? The answer is the media has allowed it to get this far. Race relations and authority has
been a deep rooted problem since the founding of this nation. By enslaving Africans and other
ethnicities, wealthy white forced them to long hard toils under the sun. Fast forward to the middle 19th
century and those enslaved have been set free yet those people are still being oppressed. Fast forward

The 1950 s were a time in which televised news sources were not as frequent and plentiful as they are
now. One particular situation that needs to be pointed out happened right in the city of Montgomery,
known as the Montgomery Bus Boycott, shows just how effective media can be when the priority is to
give the news without hyperbole or exaggeration. Going to Randall Kennedy s Yale Law article, the
writer describes the climate of the south at this time period Segregation was a way of life determined
in large part by whites who virtually monopolized state power and used that power to subjugate
blacks. (Kennedy) This is what minorities went through in the beautiful state of Alabama. The media
effectively allowed the visual representation of what was happening in Montgomery at the time. Of
course, there were some bias because of the majority white journalists at the time, but it was difficult
to state anything other than the truth with video evidence and picture evidence proving the reality.

A Comparison of the Characteristics of the Absolutist Rule of Charles I of England and Louis XIV of
France While both the French and English empires were growing overseas, the modern system of
great powers was evolving in Europe itself. France became Europe s superpower in the 1600 s. Louis
XIV, the Sun King, served as a model of absolute royal power. England in the 1600 s, by contrast,
provided an early example of more democratic rule as Parliament limited the power of monarchs.
From the 1560 s to the 1590 s, religious wars between Huguenots (French Protestants) and the
Catholic majority tore France apart. Leaders on each side used the war to make themselves look better.

that racism is no longer alive with in our society. This discrimination is evident with in our community
which has started some movements to battle the issue of racism and the discrimination. Some
movements are Black Lives Matter and the kneeling during the singing of the national anthem which
was started by Colin Kaepernick back in 2016. The Black Lives Matter movement was started because
of all the police brutality that we have seen in the media. The kneeling in the national anthem started
with Kaepernick because he felt that he had to protest what he deems as wrongdoings against African
Americans and minorities in the United States. During interviews he says, I am not going to stand up
to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color, Kaepernick told

that the rights of racial minorities are under attack in vital areas such as immigration, affordable

One of the sweet comforts in life is to curl up in a favorite chair with a short story that will briefly

that one is strangely comforted by the normalcy reflected in the words. A perfect example of a story
about ordinary life that will soothe the soul in search for some insight on understanding the human
behavior is Anton Chekhov s The Lady with the Pet Dog. This style of writing has such a mass appeal
because the characters wear recognizable social masks and reflect an everyday reality. In his simple

After becoming acquainted, Anna and Gurov walked and talked of the strange light on the sea: the
water was a soft, warm, lilac color and there was a golden band of moonlight upon it (Chekov 507).
Later, when he is alone in his hotel room, Gurov reflects on her slim, delicate throat, her lovely gray

And as the story unfolds, the color gray reveals itself as an integral component in the sort of

when things are heating up between the two lonely travelers, so is the weather, which was close

How Did W B Yeats Contribution To Irish Nationalism
The aim of this thesis is to concentrate on those poems of W.B. Yeats which deal with Irish
Nationalism. His poems intimately connect history and literature. The MLA 7th edition format has
been used in writing this thesis.
Nationalism is a doctrine invented in Europe in the beginning of the nineteenth century. It pretends to
supply the criterion for the determination of the unit of population proper to enjoy a government
exclusively of its own, for the legitimate exercise of power in the state for the rights, organization, of a
society, of states. Briefly, the doctrine holds that humanity is naturally divided into nations, that
nations are known by certain characteristics which can be ascertained, and that the only legitimate
type of government is national self government. (Kedourie 9) The nation state is the focus of
nationalism. Nationalism is a sentiment and an ideology. Nationalist sentiment means giving primacy
to national interest above all interests. Nationalist ideology may be defined as a desire of a group
people living in a particular geographical area to become an independent nation by evolving their own
language, symbol, flag and declaring national festivals, and people living in that area following these
rules. It is about loyalty towards the nation and if the nation is under colonial rule then the national

He is isolated from his wife, and even her name is not mentioned in the story. Without support of her

A Brief Note On The Uk And China
An Overview of DE in the UK and China
When discussing DE, the UK exemplifies both the history and success of DE because the
industrialization Revolution (IR) led the UK to pioneer the development of DE. Similarly, when
discussing DE development in China, the UK is the indispensable model of DE and the country to
appreciate. China could not have started DE in 1970s without the support and example of the UK s DE
system.
DE in the UK. Britain has a long history with DE. From the 1860s to the 1940s, British society was
significantly promoted by the IR. The rapid industrialization of the IR caused the need for a large
number of highly skilled workers, which is seen as the beginning of the appearance of DE.
Meanwhile, the techniques, which could realize distance communication, also matured. For example,
the advancement in the printing and publishing industry, the national postal service system, the
invention of steam locomotives, and the construction of railways provided the basic communication
cycle for correspondence education, which was the early stage of DE. Both the social and
technological environments for the emergence and development of the British DE system began with
these advancements.
The University Extension Movement in the UK. According to the British law in the early 1850s, none
university except the ones with Royal Special Permit could issue diplomas. According to the British

A Lesson in Maturity from J.M. Barrie s Peter Pan Essay
J M. Barrie s Peter Pan is a poignant tale about the magic of childhood. The main character, Peter Pan,
is a magical boy who wishes never to fall into the banality of adulthood, but to have an adventure
every moment and remain forever young. The play details Peter s relationship with a young girl,
Wendy, who is on the cusp of young adulthood. Peter s gang, the Lost Boys, wish for a mother to read
them stories. Peter goes and retrieves Wendy to be their new mother. Their adventures reveal much
about the nature of childhood and Barrie s thoughts on the bittersweet necessity of growing up.
In order for Barrie to get his message on the importance of growing up across to the audience, he must
first set himself up as an authority on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When one plays pretend as a child, anything is possible. Barrie has such a thorough understanding of a
child s mind that he creates a fantasy land that we all remember. In this manner, Barrie creates
credibility for his argument on the importance of putting away childish things at the appropriate time.
Barrie expresses the core of his argument through the actions of the children and Peter himself.
Throughout the play, the reader observes many instances of the children playing grown up. When
Peter first brings Wendy to Never Land, we see Slightly, one of the Lost Boys, playing doctor (69 70).
This shows a fundamental need to grow up and find your purpose or profession. In many of the
different acts the reader also sees the children pretending to have a family. The best example of this is
in pages 98 118. The Lost Boys and Wendy s creation of a family reflects not only the children s need
for a family, but their need to grow up and create families of their own. In this scene, one of the Lost
Boys, Michael, states his wish to grow up when he says Wendy, I am too big for a cradle (101). Even
Peter, who claims he wants to always be a little boy and to have fun reveals that he once wanted to
return to reality as well (113). On page 110, Peter says that after some time in

The Importance Of The San Jacinto Monument
Texas Artwork
As a proud Texas native, I want to discuss the San Jacinto Monument. It is built in the location of
where the final battler was fought for Texas to gain independence from Mexico. Without this battle,
the course of history and Texas would have been extremely different. The importance of this
monument is overlooked by people that are not from Texas.
The San Jacinto Monument is located in La Porte, Texas just west of Houston. The monument is
roughly 570 feet tall, and at the top of this massive monument is a 220 ton star. The Washington
Monument is roughly 554 feet tall. That makes the San Jacinto Monument almost 20 feet taller than
the Washington Monument. It took 3 years for the monument to be fully constructed and completed
before being dedicated on April 21, 1939. The star is a massive 34 feet tall, as a symbol of something
that Texas has always been known as The Lone Star State . The monument is only 78 years old,
making it still a fairly young Texas Monument.
The monument was designed by both Alfred C. Finn and Robert J. Cummins and cost about 1.5
million dollars to construct over the 3 years. They designed the monument to be built 570 feet tall
including the 34 feet tall star that sits on top of it. The monument is built as an octagon that has a base
used to hold a museum inside it. The museum holds several interesting letters and artifacts that have
been collected to help give inside perspective to the battles that led to the Battle of San Jacinto, as

Introduction Critical Infrastructure Protection is not just a national issue but also a global
responsibility. Perl Report introduces the importance of International Cooperation. The accrued
benefits increase the desired need to form agreements between nations to share necessary scientific
knowledge helpful in mitigating vulnerability. For example, the agreement between German and
Homeland Security of the United States provides collaborative measures and internal controls that
govern interaction between the two parties. Likewise, Secretary Napolitano s Letter of Intent projects
possible bilateral trade agreements between USA and Qatar, therefore, enlisting mutual benefits.
Finally, the paper indicates the effects of the latest natural disaster occurrence. The Federal
government has adopted some of the recommendations in the Perl s Report to deal with the
catastrophic situation.

Critique of the Report
Perl, (2008) presents an interesting report that discusses the terrorist threat to critical energy
infrastructure. He goes further to suggest options for a response as well as identify some needs for a
proper response. As much as the presentation is precise and easy to understand, the author fails to
provide the much needed evidence to back his thoughts. For instance, he seems to over emphasize that
energy infrastructure is more critical than another unit, yet fails to provide sufficient description of the

Chinese Footbinding Essay
Chinese Footbinding
In addressing the subject of footbinding, one primary difficulty becomes apparent that much remains
within the realm of the unknowable. Any factual knowledge about the practice may only be drawn
from 19th and 20th century writings, drawings or photographs. In addition, many of these documents
represent a distinctly Western point of view, as they are primarily composed of missionary accounts
and the literature of the various anti footbinding societies.[1] The historical origins of footbinding are
frustratingly vague, although brief textual references suggest that small feet for women were preferred
as early as the Han dynasty. The first documented reference to the actual binding of a foot is from the
court of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It gradually became the prevailing style and golden lotus became a synonym for bound feet.[5]
One notable personality who aided in the spread of footbinding was the famed writer and scholar Zhu
Xi (1130 1200 A.D.), whose commentaries on the Confucian classics would form the canon of Neo
Confucianism that would dominate Chinese intellectual and philosophical life for six subsequent
centuries. An ardent advocate of footbinding, he introduced the practice into southern Fuijan in order
to spread Chinese culture and teach proper relations between men and women, greatly influencing
other writers who mention the practice as if it were normal.[6]
Another factor contributing to the difficulty in assigning a point of time and origin to the practice is
that the spread of footbinding was neither standardized in style nor universal in practice.[7] With local
variations in method of binding, desired contours, age of initiation, paraphernalia, rituals (both public
and private), shoe patterns and terminologies, it became impossible for a master narrative to emerge.
Although some girls had their feet bound in the extreme and painful golden lotus style, others had
their feet bound in less contorted manners that merely kept the toes compressed or limited the growth
of the foot without breaking any bones.[8] In some areas and among some social groups, such as the
Hakka in southern China, women s feet were generally not bound and even among the imperial courts

How Loss And Death Affect The Lyric And Sonnet
This source discussed the sonnet and lyric (the basis of my project.) It states that a lyric is the genre of
internal and individualized emotions. It s seen as a moment of personal experience. (33) The
traditional emotion that is associated with the sonnet is love. Both the lyric and the sonnet are
connected with song and music. I want to go more in depth on how loss and death can affect the lyric
and sonnet as well, without going into elegy land. This source was very informative on the basics of a
sonnet and a lyric such as how the sonnet has a twist and the lyric is more problematic than one would
think. What more goes into a lyric then? (MAYBE) The approach this source is taking is showing the
ways a sonnet represents and doesn t represent a lyric. How exactly are they different and the same?
Sonnets are a lyric because of the emotional base put into them. It mentions that in the Romantic
peiord, sonnets were not blank verse and strayed from the conventional form. They used everyday
language. That brings up the question as to how did that incorporate into Keats sonnets? This source
also begs the question, which I agree with, who determines when something is a lyric or a sonnet?
(28) The lyric was something that could be private or social. What made a sonnet more intimate
between reader and poet (though many sonnets were published in newspapers, especially during the
Romantic period.) The length can prove to be a problem for sonnets is an issue that this source

King V Burwell Case
Question 4:
Plaintiffs in King v. Burwell filed a lawsuit to the United States District Court for the Eastern District
for Virginia, challenging the IRS rule that tax subsidies are available to all eligible Americans
regardless of whether they purchase insurance on a state run or federally facilitated Exchange. Among
other things, plaintiffs argued that they will be economically injured by the IRS ruling because they
will be required to choose between buying health insurance or paying the Minimum Coverage
Provision penalty. Plaintiffs also claimed that the purpose of the ACA was to induce States to set up
their own Exchanges by withdrawing tax subsidies from States that chose to allow the federal

Burwell, then went on to appeal to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. The
Fourth Circuit held that the statutory language is in fact ambiguous, however, having the Chevron
deference applied to the statute, the Court upheld the IRS regulation as a permissible exercise of the
agency s discretion. The Circuit held that the holistic reading of the ACA s text and the statute s
structure, lead to the conclusion that Congress intended the premium tax credits to all eligible
Americans who purchased health insurance through an Exchange, regardless of whether the Exchange
is state or federally operated. Thus, on July 22, 2014, the Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit
affirmed the judgment of the District Court for the Eastern District for Virginia. Similarly, the
Plaintiffs of Halbig v. Burwell filed an appeal to the United States Court of Appeals for the District
Court of Columbia Circuit. In a 2 1 vote, the District Court of Columbia Circuit, on July 22, 2014,
issued a ruling under Halbig v. Burwell, which was contrary to the ruling in King v. Burwell, creating
a circuit split. In the Halbig v. Burwell ruling, the panel ruled that because of the way the subsidy
provision was worded in the ACA, individuals who purchase health insurance through one of the
federally run insurance Exchanges were not eligible to receive tax subsidies. However, due to the

As the message arrives at the end of the nerves, the message is transmitted to the muscles. Before the
message is transmitted to the muscles it has to pass the space between the end of the nerve and the
muscle, and that space is called neuromuscular junction. The message is transmitted from the brain to
the end of the nerve and from the nerve to the neuromuscular junction, and when the message arrives
the chemical called neurotransmitters are released.
When acetylcholine reaches the muscles side of neuromuscular junction, it attaches and locks into
receptors. If anything interferes with these steps, the nerve will not be able to control muscle
contraction. When there is an interruption of normal communication between the nerves and the
muscles at the neuromuscular junction, myasthenia gravis occur. This interruption is caused by
antibodies that prevent acetylcholine from reaching muscle by destroying or blocking the receptors.

The Challenges Of Professional s Infectiveness
Schon (1983) states, We look to professionals for definitions and solutions of our problems and
through them we strive for social progress (p.4). Professionals and practitioners are individuals that
are highly educated in a certain field of study. For example, our government looks to them for
expertise for certain public problems. They are an essential part to our society. They work in favor of
the public good because they come up with expert solutions to public problems. Professionals have
their challenges and have been known in some incidences to negatively impact the society.
Professional s infectiveness is a challenge that professionals face when trying to come up with
solutions. Some solutions are just as bad or even worse than intended to be. According to Schon,
advocates for peace and the civil rights of minorities joined forces and turned against experts of whom
they saw as instruments of an all powerful establishment. Some public problems should be solved by

Another significant part of the essay is when Ehrlich describes fillers, which is Ehrlich s main point of
the essay. This is really relevant to today s society, culture and even pertinent in my view on things.
Ehrlich states, quot;We have a cultural tendency toward denial, but, being affluent, we strangle
ourselves with what we can buy. We have only to look at the houses we build to see how we build
against space, the way we drink against pain and loneliness. We fill up space as if it were a pie shell,
with things whose opacity further obstructs our ability to see what is already there. quot; The
American stereotype views the quality and importance of their lives based on material objects.
Example, I ll be happy if I live in a four story mansion and drive a Mercedes. Ehrlich declares that life
and happiness come from within and being satisfied by who you are, building yourself up

Separation Of Ionic Molecules Lab Report
In chemistry, an ionic compound is a type of chemical bond where the ions are fixed together via an
ionic bond. An ionic bond is formed when a metal reacts with non metal; in the reaction, electrons are
transferred from the metal atoms to the non metal atoms forming negatively and positively charged
ions. The electrostatic attraction, one of the strongest force in the universe which is caused by electric
charges between the positive and negative ions, holds the ionic compounds tightly together. Consider
the reaction between the metal calcium oxide (〖Ca〗^(2+)) and the non metal water (H_2 O), which
react together to yield the ionic compound calcium hydroxide (Ca(〖OH)〗_2).
In this reaction, calcium oxide donated its electron which was a negatively ... Show more content on

Meaning, compounds with the same type of bonding tend to be soluble with one another. Polar
substances would dissolve in polar solvents such as water, however, would not dissolve in non polar
solvents. Non polar substances dissolve in non polar solvents but do not dissolve in polar ones. Most
ionic compounds are able to be dissolved in water as the water molecules hydrate ions. For an ionic
compound to be dissolved, the water molecules must stabilize the ions, which thus would result in the
separation of the ionic bond to form a solution. Water is a polar molecule, it has a permanent dipole.
The oxygen atom has a partial negative charge whilst the hydrogen atom has a partial positive charge.
When an ionic substance is placed in to the water, the water molecules would quickly attract the
charged ions from the substance. They then become free to move about. However, this only occurs
when the attractive forces between the water molecules and ions are stronger than the attractive forces
within the ionic compound. CaOH is a slightly insoluble compound, the solubility of CaOH is
approximately 0.189 g/100 mL of water at 20. A more soluble ionic compounds solubility such as
NaCl is only 35.7 g/100 mL of water at 20°C. CaOH is only slightly insoluble as calcium and oxygen
are +2 and 2 ions in

Stress-Related Back Pain Research Paper
Millions of Americans have experienced back pain at one point or another in their life. Back pain is
one of the most common complaints that a doctor will hear from a patient on a visit. Understanding
the source of your pain can be very overwhelming and frustrating, especially when a structural
explanation cannot be provided. Could your back pain be triggered by stress? For many individuals,
stress is not the first thing that comes to mind when trying to establish the cause of their back pain.
However, it is quite possible that stress is the primary cause of your back pain. Stress related back pain
is real. What is stress related back pain? This is a back pain that is initiated by the psychological or
emotional factor stress, or is maintained by it, or both. In simpler terms, when we hold stress in our
bodies, it can cause a physical change that leads to back pain. Physician and professor of physical
medicine and rehabilitation at New York University, John Sarno MD, who helped to popularize the
notion of stress related back pain, contends that the patient s feelings, personality, and unconscious
issues are the direct cause of the back pain. Stressful life situations, coupled with personality
characteristics, can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Blood flow to different soft tissues, which includes muscles, tendons, ligaments, and nerves, is limited
as a result of constricted blood vessels, triggered by this psychological change. A decrease in oxygen
in the blood, along with waste products in the muscle, amounts to muscle tension and back pain in the
individual. Stress related back pain carries symptoms such as back or neck pain, sleep disruption and
fatigue, shifting muscle aches, and muscle tenderness. If back pain is stress related, lacking a
structural explanation, a multi disciplinary treatment option involving an assessment of the physical,
cognitive, emotional, and environmental is typically

Tommy Tune Research Paper
Tommy Tune, born Thomas James Tune in Wichita Falls, Texas, had an interest in dance and ballet as
a youngster. He produced theatrical dramas and comedies in his family s garage. His interest in dance
was crushed in high school when he reached six feet, six inches tall; he knew he could not have a
classical dance career at this height, so he concentrated on the theater. He attended Lamar High School
in Houston, Texas and then went to Lon Morris College in Jacksonville, Texas. He eventually went on
to earn his Bachelor s degree in Arts from the University of Texas at Austin in 1962 and then took
graduate courses at the University of Houston. Tommy then moved to New York to start his career. On
the first day that Tommy was in New York, he decided ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He directed a new musical titled Turn of the Century, which premiered at the Goodman Theatre in
Chicago on September 19, 2008 and closed on November 2, 2008. Off Broadway, Tune has directed
The Club and Cloud Nine. Tune toured the United States in the Sherman Brothers musical Busker
Alley in 1994 1995 and appeared in the stage adaptation of the film Dr. Doolittle in 2006. In 1999, he
made his Las Vegas debut as the star of EFX at the MGM Grand Hotel. Tommy staged an elaborate
musical entitled Paparazzi for the Holland America Line cruise ship in 2003. Tune performed in his
new musical revue, Steps in Time: A Broadway Biography in Song and Dance, in Boston in April
2008 and continuing in various venues from Maryland in January 2009 to California in February
2009. The Tommy Tune Awards, presented annually by Theatre under the Stars (TUTS) honor
excellence in high school musical theatre in Houston. The current home of the Tommy Tune Awards is
the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts in Houston, Texas and serve as a tribute for Mr. Tune and
his achievements while recognizing young performers following in his footsteps. In 1997, Tommy s
memoir, Footnotes, was published by Simon and Schuster along with the issue of his first solo CD,
Slow Dancin , a collection of romantic ballads. On November 12, 2003, The President of The United
States presented Tommy Tune with the nations highest honor for Artistic Achievement, The National
Medal of Arts. In a private ceremony in the oval office of the White House, Tommy received this
honor to add to his already huge collection of awards. Tommy Tune has been invited to sing and dance
for three U.S. presidents, the Queen of England and the Royal Family of Monaco. In his spare time,
Mr. Tune enjoys painting in his Manhattan tower studio. Some of his work can be seen on his website

The Compilers Of The Yellow Emperor s Inner Canon
The highest wisdom, as far as I can see, is when you have no ability to affirm one thing and deny the
other, leave them both to your descendants. The compilers of the Yellow Emperor s Inner Canon might
not think this way but fortunately, they did this way. Therefore, a variety of heterogeneous ideas,
theories and concepts have been transmitted for a long time down to our hands (Unschuld, p. 76). In
the history of TCM, every time when the country went from unification to division, new medical
knowledge was infused with the older and every time when it returned from division to unification,
they were integrated together. The political/ideological pluralism is seemingly unsuitable for a
centralized country with such large territory and population, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Even the illness etiology (e.g. evil wind) and the formulas of prescriptions (monarchs, ministers,
assistants and emissaries) are also confusingly irrelevant to medicine (Lloyd Sivin, p. 233). Indeed,
they are the products of intuitive thinking and analogical reasoning by the ancient Chinese people,
considerably different from the logical thinking and deductive/inductive reasoning in western culture.
However, this is exactly the reason why the theoretical paradigm of TCM is so inclusive: the
accumulation of medical knowledge is not based on logical experiments, but on intuitive experiences
without standards or unity, hence it is multi directional; the relationship between two things is not
elicited from deductions or inductions which require clear preconditions, but from analogical similes,
hence it is multi faceted (Chang Zhang, p. 12; Leung, p. 121). For instance, the concept pair Yang and
Yin can be seen as a symbol of any two opposite yet complementary objects existing everywhere and
perceived by everyone, such as day and night, hot and cold, man and woman (Unschuld, p. 55). The
dynamic changing between Yang qi and Yin qi represents the mutual transformation from one natural
force to another corresponding one (Leung, p. 20). This paradigm is like an infinite web into which
anything can be included but not fixed.

Examples Of The Hypocrisy Of Imperialism
The Hypocrisy of Imperialism and the Integrity of the Imperialist Powers.
One must ask these questions: Is Joseph Conrad s short novel, Heart Of Darkness, a result of an
epiphany
that he had during his Congo river adventures?, is Joseph Conrad communicating a message of
hypocrisy behind
the imperialism that occurred in Africa during the nineteenth century? and does it question the
integrity of the British
Empire?, possibly so. Considering that people of the Victorian age believed that their way of life was
the only way to
live and imperialism was doing a benefit for Africa, contradicts the events that take place in the Heart
Of Darkness;
including, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a result, these listed violations of the imperialist powers, such as Belgium, England, and France,
negatively affect each of the nation s integrity. George Williams concludes in his An Open Letter to
His Serene
Majesty Leopold II by stating, Against the deceit, fraud, robberies, arson, murder, slave raiding, and
the general
policy of cruelty of your Majesty s Government to the natives, stands their record of unexampled
patience,
long suffering and forgiving spirit, which put the boasted civilization and professed religion of your
Majesty s
government to the blush (Williams [HOD] 130). Williams letter to King Leopold II, considering the
fact that it
was written towards the end of the nineteenth century, could be a representation of the beginning of
the end for
the imperialist powers in the African continent.
Williams goes as far as to note violated sanctions by King Leopold II and his government. Williams
references, All the crimes perpetrated in the Congo have been done in your name, and you must

Mackey Arena Game Analysis
Walking into Mackey Arena is like walking into a basketball shrine, filled with history. That history is
built upon the rivalry between Purdue and the school down south, Indiana University. On February 28,
I was fortunate enough to be in Mackey Arena for this historical rivalry game and senior night, a game
that meant Purdue could take the Big Ten Title in a win. Purdue did just that, winning 86 to 75. I was
very pleased with the game and it exceeded all expectations I had for the huge rivalry. As a student
who has been to every home game this season, I joined the lottery system prior to the game so that I
could get a closer seat than those who did not do the lottery. The lottery began the night prior to the
game where students camped out outside Mackey s atrium. I asked Sam Kolczak, a student at Purdue
who camped out for the IU game and the Villanova game back on November 14, 2016, what he
thought about the student involvement for games at Purdue. Kolczak said, I love camping out for these
games. The people that do it are really cool and I ve even made ... Show more content on

Purdue this season has had a better season than they have had in the past, finishing at the top of the
Big Ten conference. This conference dominance can be linked to Caleb Biggie Swanigan making his
return for his sophomore year. The year before, IU had won the conference and Purdue suffered on the
road against them. I asked Kyle Graham, a senior at Purdue University and also a part of the large
senior group who goes to every game, how he felt about his last Purdue IU game as a student. Graham
said, It was actually amazing to see them win and do so in such great fashion. When I was a freshman,
Purdue had finished last in the Big Ten conference. So, it was almost bitter sweet, I guess, seeing them
beat IU for my last home game, win the Big Ten title, and winning more games than they ever had

  • 2. Teaching Reading Comprehension And Fluency Reading comprehension and fluency are explored in chapters three and four. The authors of chapter three review what they feel to be ten essential elements of teaching reading comprehension. It only stands to reason that a child s knowledge of the world around them greatly affects their comprehension, especially while reading expository text. However, not all students enter the classroom with the same amount of this world knowledge . I have had students who have summered in Europe and students who have never left the state all in the same classroom. Teachers must provide differentiation in instruction, as well opportunities to engage in a wide variety of texts to build domain and world knowledge to support reading comprehension. As a STEM lab instructor and lover of children s literacy, I am intrigued by the, Seeds of Science/Roots of Reading, program referenced in chapter three. I am continuously looking for ways to use literature to introduce my STEM topics. Not only are world knowledge and exposure to various genres essential elements in reading comprehension, but students should also be motiviated! Students should enjoy what they read. I appreciate how the authors refer to this as the will and thrill, not just the skill . Before we can teach strategies, text structure, and engage students in meaningful discussions, they need to get hooked on the idea of reading. By keeping a reading journal, students can have the opportunity to write about their favorite ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Her father was Reverend George Austen, a member of the clergy, and her mother was Cassandra Leigh who came from a higher social rank. Jane was the second daughter of a family of eight, and she was closest to the eldest sister Cassandra. From this information alone, there is a pattern present in Jane s work. She tends to write romance fiction novels about middle class England. Her characters in Sense and Sensibility are generally from the middle class, and the main characters are females and siblings. Inheritance is a very important topic in Sense and Sensibility since Jane stresses how Mr. John Dashwood acquires all of Mr. Dashwood s money after his death while his sisters get nothing. Jane s cousin, Elizabeth Hancock, married a French aristocrat by the name of Jean Capotte. In Sense and Sensibility, marriage is a highly relevant factor in society, for marriage determines stability and wealth. Hence, Willoughby marries Miss Grey rather than Marianne, the woman he loves, due to Miss Grey s fortune. Meanwhile, Mrs. Ferrars abandons her son, Edward Ferrars, after he marries a woman without fortune. Although Jane almost married Harris Big Wither, Jane and Cassandra both remained unmarried. Additionally, there are aspects of Jane s life that may have contributed to her career as a writer. Anne Lefroy was an important friend of Jane Austen. Also known as Madam Lefroy, she was a writer, fond of literature, and kind to the poor (Kelly). Subsequently, she encouraged [Jane s] intellectual development and may have influenced Jane s occupation as a writer (Kelly). Within the Austen household, reading was a common way to pass the time, so one family member would read aloud to the rest. A person s ability to read aloud was considered a valuable skill. In the same way, Jane s characters in Sense and Sensibility compare and judge each other by skill set, which includes one s ability to read with passion and style. The characters may also judge ... • 4. Act 5 sc 3 and Act 3 sc 3 in Shakespeare s Coriolanus Essay A tragedy typically deals with the downfall of an important character, in a serious play, via a fatal flaw. The audience would feel upset for the character as his weakness is not his fault and his in his nature. A tragedy has an unhappy ending or ongoing poignant events and during Act 5 sc3 and Act 3 sc3 in Shakespeare?s Coriolanus many of these take place. Coriolanus? weakness is his honesty. As we see later others know how to manipulate this which in turn brings him to his demise. Although he is modest and honourable the common people despise him as he is arrogant about his fighting skills and constantly insults them. ?You dissentious rouges, that, rubbing the poor itch of opinion make yourself scabs?? This scene is controlled by the tribunes; they have hatched a plan to bring Coriolanus to his exile, ?Put him to choler straight.? They know that he is a proud man and has a strong nature which causes him not retaliate to insults to his character. The tribunes, mainly Sicinius and Brutus, feel that if Coriolanus runs for consul than he would have too much power. In the scene they try to prove to the plebeians that all Coriolanus? actions are to take total control of the city causing them vote for him to be banished. Shakespeare has now shown the first trait of Coriolanus? tragedy, he strives to control his anger towards what is unfolding but finally erupts at being called a traitor when he?s anything but. Menenius, Coriolanus? close friend, tries to calm Coriolanus praying him to stop but the citizens erupt, ?To th? rock, to th? rock with him!? playing their part to enrage him more. Shakespeare uses dramatic devices in this scene to emphasise Coriolanus? feelings. Dramatic devices help to emphasise how the audience react to the character by stage directions which follow the text, also sound, lighting and body positioning on stage. These emphasise mood and emotions, and during the RSC production Coriolanus is being surrounded by the citizens both in speech and on stage adding ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

His poems intimately connect history and literature. The MLA 7th edition format has been used in writing this thesis. It pretends to supply the criterion for the determination of the unit of population proper to enjoy a government exclusively of its own, for the legitimate exercise of power in the state for the rights, organization, of a society, of states. Briefly, the doctrine holds that humanity is naturally divided into nations, that nations are known by certain characteristics which can be ascertained, and that the only legitimate type of government is national self government. (Kedourie 9) The nation state is the focus of nationalism. Nationalism is a sentiment and an ideology. Nationalist sentiment means giving primacy to national interest above all interests. Nationalist ideology may be defined as a desire of a group people living in a particular geographical area to become an independent nation by evolving their own language, symbol, flag and declaring national festivals, and people living in that area following these rules. When one plays pretend as a child, anything is possible. Barrie has such a thorough understanding of a child s mind that he creates a fantasy land that we all remember. In this manner, Barrie creates credibility for his argument on the importance of putting away childish things at the appropriate time. Barrie expresses the core of his argument through the actions of the children and Peter himself. Throughout the play, the reader observes many instances of the children playing grown up. When Peter first brings Wendy to Never Land, we see Slightly, one of the Lost Boys, playing doctor (69 70). This shows a fundamental need to grow up and find your purpose or profession. In many of the different acts the reader also sees the children pretending to have a family. The best example of this is in pages 98 118. The Lost Boys and Wendy s creation of a family reflects not only the children s need for a family, but their need to grow up and create families of their own. In this scene, one of the Lost Boys, Michael, states his wish to grow up when he says Wendy, I am too big for a cradle (101). Even Peter, who claims he wants to always be a little boy and to have fun reveals that he once wanted to return to reality as well (113). On page 110, Peter says that after some time in ... It is built in the location of where the final battler was fought for Texas to gain independence from Mexico. Without this battle, the course of history and Texas would have been extremely different. The importance of this monument is overlooked by people that are not from Texas. The San Jacinto Monument is located in La Porte, Texas just west of Houston. The monument is roughly 570 feet tall, and at the top of this massive monument is a 220 ton star. The Washington Monument is roughly 554 feet tall. That makes the San Jacinto Monument almost 20 feet taller than the Washington Monument. It took 3 years for the monument to be fully constructed and completed before being dedicated on April 21, 1939. The star is a massive 34 feet tall, as a symbol of something that Texas has always been known as The Lone Star State . The monument is only 78 years old, making it still a fairly young Texas Monument. The monument was designed by both Alfred C. Finn and Robert J. Any factual knowledge about the practice may only be drawn from 19th and 20th century writings, drawings or photographs. In addition, many of these documents represent a distinctly Western point of view, as they are primarily composed of missionary accounts and the literature of the various anti footbinding societies.[1] The historical origins of footbinding are frustratingly vague, although brief textual references suggest that small feet for women were preferred as early as the Han dynasty. It gradually became the prevailing style and golden lotus became a synonym for bound feet.[5] One notable personality who aided in the spread of footbinding was the famed writer and scholar Zhu Xi (1130 1200 A.D.), whose commentaries on the Confucian classics would form the canon of Neo Confucianism that would dominate Chinese intellectual and philosophical life for six subsequent centuries. An ardent advocate of footbinding, he introduced the practice into southern Fuijan in order to spread Chinese culture and teach proper relations between men and women, greatly influencing other writers who mention the practice as if it were normal.[6] Another factor contributing to the difficulty in assigning a point of time and origin to the practice is that the spread of footbinding was neither standardized in style nor universal in practice.[7] With local variations in method of binding, desired contours, age of initiation, paraphernalia, rituals (both public and private), shoe patterns and terminologies, it became impossible for a master narrative to emerge. Although some girls had their feet bound in the extreme and painful golden lotus style, others had their feet bound in less contorted manners that merely kept the toes compressed or limited the growth of the foot without breaking any bones.[8] In some areas and among some social groups, such as the Hakka in southern China, women s feet were generally not bound and even among the imperial courts of ... (MAYBE) The approach this source is taking is showing the ways a sonnet represents and doesn t represent a lyric. How exactly are they different and the same? Sonnets are a lyric because of the emotional base put into them. It mentions that in the Romantic peiord, sonnets were not blank verse and strayed from the conventional form. They used everyday language. That brings up the question as to how did that incorporate into Keats sonnets? This source also begs the question, which I agree with, who determines when something is a lyric or a sonnet? (28) The lyric was something that could be private or social. Ehrlich states, quot;We have a cultural tendency toward denial, but, being affluent, we strangle ourselves with what we can buy. We have only to look at the houses we build to see how we build against space, the way we drink against pain and loneliness. We fill up space as if it were a pie shell, with things whose opacity further obstructs our ability to see what is already there. quot; The American stereotype views the quality and importance of their lives based on material objects. Example, I ll be happy if I live in a four story mansion and drive a Mercedes. Ehrlich declares that life and happiness come from within and being satisfied by who you are, building yourself up ... • 40. Separation Of Ionic Molecules Lab Report In chemistry, an ionic compound is a type of chemical bond where the ions are fixed together via an ionic bond. An ionic bond is formed when a metal reacts with non metal; in the reaction, electrons are transferred from the metal atoms to the non metal atoms forming negatively and positively charged ions. The electrostatic attraction, one of the strongest force in the universe which is caused by electric charges between the positive and negative ions, holds the ionic compounds tightly together. Consider the reaction between the metal calcium oxide (〖Ca〗^(2+)) and the non metal water (H_2 O), which react together to yield the ionic compound calcium hydroxide (Ca(〖OH)〗_2). In this reaction, calcium oxide donated its electron which was a negatively ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Meaning, compounds with the same type of bonding tend to be soluble with one another. Polar substances would dissolve in polar solvents such as water, however, would not dissolve in non polar solvents. Non polar substances dissolve in non polar solvents but do not dissolve in polar ones. Most ionic compounds are able to be dissolved in water as the water molecules hydrate ions. For an ionic compound to be dissolved, the water molecules must stabilize the ions, which thus would result in the separation of the ionic bond to form a solution. Water is a polar molecule, it has a permanent dipole. The oxygen atom has a partial negative charge whilst the hydrogen atom has a partial positive charge. When an ionic substance is placed in to the water, the water molecules would quickly attract the charged ions from the substance. They then become free to move about. However, this only occurs when the attractive forces between the water molecules and ions are stronger than the attractive forces within the ionic compound. CaOH is a slightly insoluble compound, the solubility of CaOH is approximately 0.189 g/100 mL of water at 20. A more soluble ionic compounds solubility such as NaCl is only 35.7 g/100 mL of water at 20°C. CaOH is only slightly insoluble as calcium and oxygen are +2 and 2 ions in ... • 41. Stress-Related Back Pain Research Paper Millions of Americans have experienced back pain at one point or another in their life. Back pain is one of the most common complaints that a doctor will hear from a patient on a visit. Understanding the source of your pain can be very overwhelming and frustrating, especially when a structural explanation cannot be provided. Could your back pain be triggered by stress? For many individuals, stress is not the first thing that comes to mind when trying to establish the cause of their back pain. However, it is quite possible that stress is the primary cause of your back pain. Stress related back pain is real. What is stress related back pain? This is a back pain that is initiated by the psychological or emotional factor stress, or is maintained by it, or both. In simpler terms, when we hold stress in our bodies, it can cause a physical change that leads to back pain. Physician and professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation at New York University, John Sarno MD, who helped to popularize the notion of stress related back pain, contends that the patient s feelings, personality, and unconscious issues are the direct cause of the back pain. Stressful life situations, coupled with personality characteristics, can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Blood flow to different soft tissues, which includes muscles, tendons, ligaments, and nerves, is limited as a result of constricted blood vessels, triggered by this psychological change. A decrease in oxygen in the blood, along with waste products in the muscle, amounts to muscle tension and back pain in the individual. Stress related back pain carries symptoms such as back or neck pain, sleep disruption and fatigue, shifting muscle aches, and muscle tenderness. If back pain is stress related, lacking a structural explanation, a multi disciplinary treatment option involving an assessment of the physical, cognitive, emotional, and environmental is typically ... • 42. Tommy Tune Research Paper Tommy Tune, born Thomas James Tune in Wichita Falls, Texas, had an interest in dance and ballet as a youngster. He produced theatrical dramas and comedies in his family s garage. His interest in dance was crushed in high school when he reached six feet, six inches tall; he knew he could not have a classical dance career at this height, so he concentrated on the theater. He attended Lamar High School in Houston, Texas and then went to Lon Morris College in Jacksonville, Texas. He eventually went on to earn his Bachelor s degree in Arts from the University of Texas at Austin in 1962 and then took graduate courses at the University of Houston. Tommy then moved to New York to start his career. On the first day that Tommy was in New York, he decided ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 43. The Compilers Of The Yellow Emperor s Inner Canon The highest wisdom, as far as I can see, is when you have no ability to affirm one thing and deny the other, leave them both to your descendants. The compilers of the Yellow Emperor s Inner Canon might not think this way but fortunately, they did this way. Therefore, a variety of heterogeneous ideas, theories and concepts have been transmitted for a long time down to our hands (Unschuld, p. 76). In the history of TCM, every time when the country went from unification to division, new medical knowledge was infused with the older and every time when it returned from division to unification, they were integrated together. The political/ideological pluralism is seemingly unsuitable for a centralized country with such large territory and population, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even the illness etiology (e.g. evil wind) and the formulas of prescriptions (monarchs, ministers, assistants and emissaries) are also confusingly irrelevant to medicine (Lloyd Sivin, p. 233). Indeed, they are the products of intuitive thinking and analogical reasoning by the ancient Chinese people, considerably different from the logical thinking and deductive/inductive reasoning in western culture. However, this is exactly the reason why the theoretical paradigm of TCM is so inclusive: the accumulation of medical knowledge is not based on logical experiments, but on intuitive experiences without standards or unity, hence it is multi directional; the relationship between two things is not elicited from deductions or inductions which require clear preconditions, but from analogical similes, hence it is multi faceted (Chang Zhang, p. 12; Leung, p. 121). For instance, the concept pair Yang and Yin can be seen as a symbol of any two opposite yet complementary objects existing everywhere and perceived by everyone, such as day and night, hot and cold, man and woman (Unschuld, p. 55). The dynamic changing between Yang qi and Yin qi represents the mutual transformation from one natural force to another corresponding one (Leung, p. 20). This paradigm is like an infinite web into which anything can be included but not fixed. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One must ask these questions: Is Joseph Conrad s short novel, Heart Of Darkness, a result of an epiphany that he had during his Congo river adventures?, is Joseph Conrad communicating a message of hypocrisy behind the imperialism that occurred in Africa during the nineteenth century? and does it question the integrity of the British Empire?, possibly so. • 46. Mackey Arena Game Analysis Walking into Mackey Arena is like walking into a basketball shrine, filled with history. That history is built upon the rivalry between Purdue and the school down south, Indiana University. On February 28, I was fortunate enough to be in Mackey Arena for this historical rivalry game and senior night, a game that meant Purdue could take the Big Ten Title in a win. Purdue did just that, winning 86 to 75. I was very pleased with the game and it exceeded all expectations I had for the huge rivalry. As a student who has been to every home game this season, I joined the lottery system prior to the game so that I could get a closer seat than those who did not do the lottery. The lottery began the night prior to the game where students camped out outside Mackey s atrium. I asked Sam Kolczak, a student at Purdue who camped out for the IU game and the Villanova game back on November 14, 2016, what he thought about the student involvement for games at Purdue. Kolczak said, I love camping out for these games. The people that do it are really cool and I ve even made ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This conference dominance can be linked to Caleb Biggie Swanigan making his return for his sophomore year. The year before, IU had won the conference and Purdue suffered on the road against them. I asked Kyle Graham, a senior at Purdue University and also a part of the large senior group who goes to every game, how he felt about his last Purdue IU game as a student. Graham said, It was actually amazing to see them win and do so in such great fashion. When I was a freshman, Purdue had finished last in the Big Ten conference.
