Mesa Grande Essay
An explosion rocked the town, widows shattered and cars alarms wailed, A line of twenty Abram
tanks rolled side by side on parallel roads, through the town of Mesa Grande, but, all heading the same
direction, to the west. Boom, boom , boom boom, as the Abrams fired their 120mm M256 smoothbore
guns in a hellish symphony toward their targets, the Heat rounds strike time and again on target,
plumes of fire, smoke, and sand leapt in the sky, forming craters across the desert to the west of town.
Rat tat tat tat, as some of the tank commanders fired the 12.7mm Browning M2 machine guns, and the
loaders fired 7.62mm M240 machine guns toward their targets, a spec ops soldier had been assigned
to each tank to operated the 7.62mm M240 coaxial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The mesa to the South had a stone quarry on the back side away from the town where stone was
quarried for the local construction companies, who had added the stone to the facade of almost all of
the building in town.
When the news had spread that the dead where coming back to life and eating people, many of the
residents packed up what they could carry and fled to government ran safe camps , where the army or
other agency had set up barricades and defensive lines to keep the citizens safe, the first attempts
though where unsuccessful and the camps where overrun and everyone killed or spawned into the Un
dead, adding to their numbers. The un dead traveled in large packs and the more who died the larger
the packs had grown, One of the apache pilots now assigned to John s brigade had reported seeing a
crowd of thousands, maybe tens of thousands of zombies in the town of High Vista only 25 miles to
the West of Mesa Grande. The problem was that High Vista s population was over a million people
and there was no word on how many if any had been able to evacuate before the crowd hit.
Either way John knew that time was limited, his tanks and infantry had come guns blazing into Mesa
Grande, he estimated they had killed at least 1000 zombie since their arrival and they finally had a
perimeter of firepower surrounding the city, but, the question was

Symptoms And Symptoms Of Stress Fractures
A break in a bone that is caused by repetitive and/or intense exercise and prolonged pressure on the
bone is known as a stress fracture. Stress fractures may pass through the entire bone (complete) or
partially break (incomplete).
SYMPTOMS
Inflammation at the fracture site.
Bleeding (uncommon).
Bruising (uncommon).
Pain and tenderness over the fracture site.
Weakness and inability to bear weight on the injured extremity.
Paleness and deformity (sometimes).
CAUSES
Stress fractures are the result of repetitive micro trauma of a bone. The bone is injured at a greater rate
than it can be healed by the body. This causes the bone to become weak and susceptible to fracture.
Stress fractures typically follow changes in:
Training or performance schedule.
Equipment.
Intensity of activity.
Women who no longer have their periods are more prone to stress fractures.
RISK INCREASES WITH:
Previous stress fracture.
Certain sports associated with specific fractures:
○ Leg: running, soccer, swimming, ballet, basketball.
○ Foot: running, walking, marching, swimming, soccer, ballet.
○ Heel bone: basketball, volleyball.
○ Thigh: running, basketball, jumping.
○ Kneecap (patella): basketball, catching in baseball.
○ Hand: tennis, handball.
○ Forearm: tennis, javelin.
○ Arm: baseball, cricket.

Route 66 Research Paper
Route 66
History and Culture
Route 66 was one of the original and most famous roads in the United States and was established on
November 11, 1926. Entrepreneurs John Woodruff of Springfield and Cyrus Avery of Tulsa played a
crucial role in promoting the concept of an interregional link between Los Angeles and Chicago.
However, their lobbying efforts did not bear much fruit until the initiation of the national program
towards the development of highways and roads. Notably, legislations for public roads first appeared
in 1916 and later revised in 1921. However, proper road constructions did not take place until 1925
when the Congress enacted a more comprehensive version of the version of the road construction act.
Following the enactment, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

breadth 16 feet. It is one of the preexisting roads that was re designated as Illinois Route 66 in 1926
during the inauguration of the Mother Road. It was paved with a mixture of cement and gravel, while
expansion joints were placed every 30 yards. It was also flanked by four inch curbs and four foot
gravel shoulders. On the other hand, the Cayuga to Chenoa section was a bit wider and thicker, having
a width of 18 feet with a six inch deep Portland slab. Still, Illinois Route 4 was a bit different. The
1.53 mile segment was overlaid with a brick in 1932 and also has a 1,277 foot section paved with
Portland cement. Along its course, the road also had several culverts to enhance drainage (National

U.s. Foreign Policy Towards Belarus
To: Secretary of State John Kerry
From: Rob Foglia, country desk officer of Belarus
Re: Recommended U.S. foreign policy towards Belarus
Date: October 12, 2014
Oppression in Belarus
Breaking Free from Russia Belarus has the veil of a political stranglehold cast over it by the looming
and neighboring Russia. Freedoms are non existent, a tyrant maintains control over the country, and
democracy is nowhere in sight. I have a few recommendations on how U.S. foreign policy towards
Belarus can help fix many of these issues, and help direct the country towards Democracy. First, I will
highlight some history on the so called Republic of Belarus to help put some context on the situation.
Belarus became one of the first members of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This led to elections in the early 1990 s, and Belarus declared itself independent in July 27th, 1990,
and wrote a Declaration of State Sovereignty. The newly formed republic became primarily
communist, mainly because of all the Russian integration that had already occurred. In 1994, The
Republic of Belarus elected Alexander Lukashenko as the President of Belarus. He was officially
reelected in 2001, 2006 and 2010. However, the United States (as well as other western Nations) does
not recognize the results of the 2010 elections under which the Central Election Commission of
Belarus declared Lukashenko president. This is because Western countries decried the election as a
farce and an egregious affront to democracy and human rights. Many of Lukashenko s opposition
leaders had mysterious disappearances. The United States and the European Union called for the
release of all imprisoned former candidates, but took no further action except a travel ban on
Lukashenko. By contrast, countries such as Syria, Russia, and China congratulated the re elected
incumbent. This is just a sample of the Dictatorship that is veiled as a Republic in Belarus.
Transitioning into Democracy
For a nation to truly be free, certain rights have to be available to the people. Freedom of speech,
press, peaceful assembly, and religion are just a few of these things.

Analysis Of Heather Havrilesky s No Sympathy For The Devil
In the No Sympathy for the Devil Heather Havrilesky tells us how the appearance of the hero
influences the attitude of the audience towards him. Havrilesky claims that: the likability of any given
protagonist represents one of the most subjective assessments you can make about a TV show (465). I
agree with his statement and my opinion can be explained with the help of the hero Damon from the
TV show The Vampire Diaries. Damon is one of the most evil guys in the Vampire Diaries TV show,
but sometimes he does good deeds. The main confirmation of my statement is two good Damon s
action: he saves Caroline after a car accident and protects Elena from killing.
The first way I will agree with Havrilesky is an example of how Damon saved Caroline after a car
accident. Damon in the TV show The Vampire Diaries is shown by an evil handsome with an
unpleasant temperament. In most cases, he does only bad things and takes care of himself, but
sometimes he really surprises the audience by helping others and doing good deeds. One of the main
examples of this behavior is when in the second season in the Brave New World series he saves
Caroline after a car accident. Damon gives her his blood so that she will recover faster and feels better.
Unfortunately, Caroline is killed and she becomes a vampire. After all the events, Caroline s mom
finds out the truth, but even here Damon does not give in. He supports Caroline and tries to reconcile
them with Mom. In the end, Caroline and Damon become friends. Thus, it becomes clear that even
bad characters in a TV show can do good deeds. But in fact, if you think for a minute, each viewer is
sick and sympathetic to Damon, despite all the bad things he does. Havrilesky says: For the past
decade, TV has been awash with deeply flawed antiheroes: philandering ad men and pill popping
nurses, meth cooking chemistry teachers and mob boss suburban dads. But when you launch a show
that s centered on an unethical protagonist, how do you keep viewers engaged and invested in that
character indefinitely or at least through six seasons? (465).The author says that a really negative hero
forces viewers to follow him to the very end. Watching how his life develops. It s the bad characters
that

Descriptive Essay About Riding
Riding horses has always been something that I am passionate about. It is a place where I can escape
from the world to put all of my emotions into something I love. I have been riding for 9 years and
have been showing for 5 years. Riding is not an easy sport as some people believe it to be, riding takes
determination and passion. Being an equestrian means being tough and a fighter while being graceful.
Riding takes dedication and hard work, but it is all worth it for doing something you love. This year I
had the amazing experience to compete in IEA (Interscholastic Equestrian Association) National
Finals! But i wasn t just the experience at Nationals that was so amazing, it was the incredible journey
that brought me there. Over the years riding has meant so much to me and I always have had the
determination keep pushing forward. But I haven t always been appreciated for my handwork around
the barn or the hours I have spent just caring for the horses because I love to. I have never really had a
coach who believed in me until Spring of 2016 when a new trainer came to our barn. Megan Taylor is
a coach that believed in my and wanted to push me to be a better rider. My friend Brooke was has
always been a strong supporter of me, also was so thankful that Megan became our coach. Just
knowing that someone believes in you so much can make all the difference in a person s life. I have
been showing in IEA at Moss Creek Equestrian Center for 4 years. IEA is a showing program for

Case Study Joint Tenant Martin
Introduction
Martin has decided to retire after many years as a deputy and detective. Over the years Martin has
acquired a couple of properties that he plans to enjoy during his retirement. Martin, unfortunately, has
legal concerns related to each of the properties and has sought out of the advice of an attorney, who
happens to be an old friend from his church.
Joint tenant with rights of survivorship The first property to be discussed is a Mountain Property
purchased by Martin 31 years ago. Martin bought this property with a group of friends as joint tenants
with a right of survivorship. In most states, a joint tenant with the right of survivorship states that each
owner of the property has equal shares and no one person can have more than the other. It also states
that each of the owners holds their portions of the property until a time in which one of the owner s
dies. At his point, the property is redistributed equally to the remaining owners. This process proceeds
until only one owner is alive, at which time he or she becomes the sole owner, and in this case that
would be Martin since he is the sole surviving owner of the property in question. However, when

The Saints And The Roughnecks
Social scientists look at the world. They look at their surroundings, asking why things happen, how
everything came to be, and what we can understand further about our existence. To do all of these
things, social scientists must follow different methodologies depending on what they are trying to find
out about. One example of a study can be found in William Chambliss article The Saints and the
Roughnecks. To gather the data for this study, Chambliss examined the ethnography of Hanibal High
School and two of its prominent gangs. His two years of direct behavioral research allowed him to
thoroughly scrutinize the effects of class on the Saints and the Roughnecks. The conclusions that he
drew, stemming from the unequal treatment of the gangs, were sound because his ethnographical work
was more than just casual observation and subsequently provided him with ample evidence to analyze.
It is first important to define what ethnography is because it is a prominent method that social
scientists use in their research (Roy, lecture 4). Professor Roy defines ethnography as looking at
culture a methodological skill of observation in a natural setting. Chambliss was able to do this with
his qualitative research at Hanibal. Qualitative research, compared to quantitative, is often
characterized by a depth of information from a limited number of cases (Ragin Amoroso 28). This
type of study relies on the human component of interaction in the real world. Chambliss actively
engaged with

The Romance Language
In today s society, almost everyone is familiar with the languages of Spanish, Italian, French,
Portuguese, Romanian, and Catalan, or better known as the Romance languages . One might wonder
as to why they are commonly known as the Romance languages, and the simple answer is that all
these languages lead back to the language of the Romans: Latin. Latin became a language commonly
used during the start of the city of Rome, around the Tiber River, in the seventh century B.C., but
unfortunately came to an end during the Second Vatican Council from 1962 to 1965, where the
Catholic Church made the decision to change the language of the liturgies from Latin to the vernacular
language of the area. Although the Latin language is considered dead in modern society, the evolution
of Latin into the Romantic languages has been able to influence billions of speakers since the ninth
century. One might be inquisitive as to how a language can change over time, but languages do not
just change, they evolve, as well. Language is a natural growth, and not an instrument which we shape
for our own purposes (Orwell 707). Languages cannot change by force, but rather will change over a
period of time with the help of society to influence the development of words and phrases. The
evolution of languages comes naturally, usually with influences from other spoken languages close
enough to the main region where a language is spoken. These changes enter the language, and, with
time, the language has

The Impact Of Technology On Human Relationships
Most people would agree that it is nearly impossible to avoid technology use in their daily routines.
Technology is often described as an electronic drug by people such as Alex Lickerman M.D. and
many others who notice and even engage in the epidemic that is affecting millions. Because the
electronic world demands attention from the physical world, there are effects that are to be expected.
The ever present electronic word, that demands everyone s attention, is playing a role in how life in
the real world is lived; people now interact with one another and establish relationships differently as a
result. As technology becomes more integrated into every minute of peoples days, it is changing the
culture, specifically, the fundamental ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With these revelations, more people are joining the debate that truly effects all. With other debates,
there is a target audience, a specific set of people who will or at least should care. Unlike those topics
that narrow their audience to a particular group, this debate matters to anyone with a wifi connection.
It matters to those looking for a relationship and even those who are already in one. Anyone who
depends on technology, experiences the effect it has on how life is done. One of the most drastic
changes that technology allows for it the ability to edit oneself. Prior to the majority of people owning
a cell phone, most conversations happened in a face to face setting. When talking to someone in real
time, responses are required to be immediate, but talking online or through texting allows for a pause.
But, a digital interaction unfolds differently. Slouching behind a device allows for ample delay. The
extra time may be spent editing oneself words to create a persona or simply in avoidance. Regardless,
people engaging in a face to face conversation expect an immediate response whereas a digital
conversation allows for the pause that is almost expected. Sherry Turkle, author of No Need to Call, a
brief essay Alone Together: Why We Expect More From Technology and Less From Each Other,
reasons that a delay allows people to edit their words, making them look better than they would in a
real time conversation, thus creating an online

Creating A Blue Ocean Strategy
According to Michael Porter, a company strategist who understands that competition extends well
beyond existing rivals will detect wider competitive threats and be better equipped to address them
(Porter, 2008, p.16). Thinking comprehensively about the structure of the industry as well as its
customers can afford companies the ability to obtain superior performance. Therefore, it is key for
companies to focus on how to maintain existing customers as well as lure new ones.
Three tiers of non customers
As we have learned from our readings, to create a blue ocean strategy means to reach out to untapped
market space, demand creation, and the opportunity for highly profitable growth (Kim Mauborgne,
2005, p.4). These blue ocean strategies can exist beyond existing industries/markets or they can be
expanded upon in existing markets (red oceans). Either way, companies need to go beyond competing
(p.5). To do so companies should identify and attract non customers. The three tiers of non customers
identify different level of non customers companies can attract to convert them into new customers.
We will discuss these non customers as it applies to the Apple IPhone.
The first tier non customers are those smartphone users that are curious about the IPhone and
interested in possible switching. The launch of the IPhone 5 was geared towards two sets of buyers;
existing customers and first tier non customers. Both sets were disappointed with the previous IPhones
screen sizes. The

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles ( Uavs )
Drones, or formally referred to as Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), are machines that primarily
controlled through remote controls or computers. Individuals on the ground are the ones who usually
control the flight of this vehicle through a remote control. However, depending on the type and model
of the drone, autonomous flight can occur through the embedded computer systems of the drone. Due
to the vast amounts shapes and sizes of drones, there is not set standard when classifying this type of
vehicle (Corrigan, 2015). However, the military does use a system for classifying the size of drones as
this technology is used regularly in this area. This system will be discussed in further detail in the later
portions of this section. Drones ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Numerous propellers are manufactured out of plastic and carbon fiber, which is often reserved for
drones of higher quality (Corrigan, 2015). To limit the amount of damage done to the propellers,
propeller guards can be purchased and used to prevent unwanted outside contact with the drones.
These guards also ensure the safety of individuals both controlling the drone remotely and those who
may be located near the flight path. Significant amounts of innovation are occurring with this
particular drone component. As the quality of propellers increase, the better the flight experience will
be for owners. One of the sizable innovations in this area involves low noise propellers as drones are
often known for making a buzzing sound as they fly through the air. Pusher Propellers As stated in the
name, these propellers are responsible for pushing the drone through the air and are located at the rear
of the drone. However, unlike the standard propellers located at the front of the drone, these actually
rotate opposite of the direction of the standard propellers (Quimby, 2015). This action cancels out
motor torques during stationary flight. These propellers, same as the standard propellers, are also
made of either plastic and carbon fiber. In addition, drone propeller guards can be bought and placed
around the propellers. Brushless Motors Brushless motors are considered to be a high performance
motor that is capable of providing large amounts of torque over a vast speed

Erruption In Pompeii
Introduction:
A significant event that occurred in Ancient Rome is the eruption of Mt Vesuvius which destroyed the
towns of Pompeii and Herculaneum, killing around 2000 people. The Mt Vesuvius eruption was a
Plinian eruption sending volcanic ash hurdling towards the sky sending out deadly gases which was
the main causes of the death of the people of Pompeii and Herculaneum. It left the towns covered and
hidden for many years until archaeologist discovered these sites. This was significant because it
opened a great deal of insight into how the Romans went about their day, how they decorated their
homes, what materials they used to decorate their homes, building structures and much more
information that proved to be very helpful in our understanding of how Romans lived and how they
went about their everyday lives. Now came the dust, though still thinly. I look back: a dense cloud
looms behind us, following us like a flood poured across the land.

spewed plumes of ash up to 45 kilo metres into the stratosphere. This caused many problems for the

of Pompeii but also lahars (mud flows) and pyroclastic flows. With the pyroclastic flow made up of
hot ash, pumice, rock fragments and deadly gases, moving across the ground it was impossible for
anyone to survive even if they hadn t already died from the pumice shooting out of the volcano s
mouth. Some of the cloud was white, in other parts there were dark patches of dirt and

Lecturer Peter Senge once stated, Knowledge is constructed, not transferred (Callahan). With this one
quote Peter Senge has managed to mock the modern education system. Today s educational
institutions do exactly what Senge says not to; teachers try to transfer knowledge to their students
through lectures, worksheets, and rubrics. This type of instruction, called essentialism, limits student s
creativity. Students are unable to act independently from teacher expectations. Essentialism tends to
have one right answer and only one way of finding this solution. Instruction following this set up will
begin to reduce student perseverance; students become frustrated if they cannot solve the problem the

In order to embrace constructivism in the classroom one must first ask, what is learning, how do
students learn, and how should teachers teach?
Learning can be defined in many different ways. The Merriam Webster dictionary defines learning as,
knowledge or skill acquired by instruction or study and modification of a behavioral tendency by
experience Both definitions are needed when describing learning since both cognitive and behavioral
learning occur. In a constructivist classroom learning can be defined as, humans construct[ing]
knowledge and meaning from their experiences. (The University of Sydney) These classrooms
embraced learning more strongly than classrooms with a behaviorist orientation and far better than
classrooms with a laissez faire teacher (DiGiulio, 2004, p. 54).
Creativity and imagination are abundant among children, especially at the elementary school age.
Many philosophical approaches to education limit creativity and focus on following rules and listening
to instructions. Constructivist teachers refuse to limit students abilities providing students with
freedom of choice. Constructivism allows each student to learn in the style best suited for them,
whether that style is hands on learning, visual learning, or auditory learning, students want to learn.
People learn in many different ways. The most common types of learners are listening, seeing, or
touch learners. Constructivism addresses all three of these learning styles. In a

Cultural And Linguistic Boundaries And Influence
Survey design can raise issues that can traverse the cultural and linguistic boundaries and influence the
survey questions selection and procedure. These issues can become more pressing and critical
especially when surveys are conducted in support of vital entities such as government policies,
program evaluations, human rights investigations and government policies. Survey accommodation to
certain cultures and languages is an issue of importance and significance. There are logical reasons for
these issues as survey participants can interpret things and respond differently according to the
question order effects, cultural and language background. Also, the participants` understanding of the
survey construction, intention, data usage and assurance of their information, can influence the
designer`s approach of questions construction and organization (Blair Piccinino, 2005). The previous
literature reviews shed the light on several aspects such as the survey design implications. The
importance of the survey context becomes apparent when the researchers consider the situations where
cultural and linguistic factors are involved. These factors can influence the design due to several
reasons, Some researchers design the surveys from scratch for the purpose of using it in cultures and
language settings, which are not their own. Language consideration is characteristic features of
cognitive socialized skills that influence survey participants. This can result in social

Fear In The Crucible
In 1953, the fear of communists infiltrating America caused a nationwide panic. The nation began a
witch hunt lead by Senator Joseph McCarthy to find these supposed communists. The government
targeted anyone and everyone, especially if they voiced opposition to the trials. Suspects threw
friends, acquaintances, and enemies under the bus to escape persecution. In response to this bout of
unjust trials, Arthur Miller wrote The Crucible, a book about the witch trials in Salem, Massachusetts
in 1692, which later became a movie 1996.
The movie opens in the woods, where the village s young girls are dancing and screaming in various
states of undress. A slave from Barbados named Tituba is doing magic for the girls with local herbs,
chanting like a voodoo witch doctor. Then, in comes Abigail Williams, an arguably mentally unstable
girl, and slices a chicken s throat, covering herself in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fate of every character in the movie is that of the corresponding person in real life. Those that died
in the movie, died in real life during the trials as well. The Crucible depicts the fear and struggles of

most part , but because they truly believed witchcraft was real (wrong way to approach it, but good

However, there are some inaccuracies as well. The plot wasn t based on real life, but to keep readers
intrigued. The names, ages, events, and jobs of characters were changed. Some people who were
incredibly important to stopping the trials didn t even make an appearance. The reason the trials
stopped was because more people began to lie about being a witch, which is the opposite of what
Miller includes in the epilogue. Did John actually have an affair? No. Did Abigail actually become a

Louis Armstrong Controversy
Jazz would not be the same today without the contributions that Louis Armstrong brought to the jazz

In the 1920 Louis Armstrong cut several records with various other bands but most notable of which
are his singles that he cut. Even at a young age and an even younger musical career Armstrong was
proving himself to be a musician worthy of recognition. Not everyone accepted his style at first, there

Did you know, American Football is played around the world. If you ve been in the military, you know

The extent of the game, has moved around the world. Though of course we know about the NFL and

these leagues? Some of these leagues are Pro leagues. The Germans even have their own Super Bowl .
But we don t get to learn about the influence our game has had on other countries.

Icek Ajzen Theory Of Planned Behavior
Theory of Planned Behavior Dana Hall
In today s society, we have a mental health crisis that affects everyone, especially the veteran
population. Mental health crisis range from one extreme to another being death, suicide or homicide.
A goal for health care providers is to prevent these types of those extremes from happening. The most
widely used social cognition model for predicting and explaining health behavior is the Theory of
Planned Behavior (Ogden, 2003).
Icek Ajzen s Theory of Planned Behavior was used as a framework to explain the relationship between
one s attitude and behavior and whether or not it can be predicted and or prevented. What the Theory
of Planned Behavior focuses on are three kinds of views, behavioral beliefs, normative beliefs and
control beliefs (Ajzens, 1971). Atzens suggests that behavioral beliefs focus on the likelihood of the
outcome of behavior and the evaluation and whether or not they have a positive or negative attitude
toward the behavior itself. Normative belief focuses on the expectations of others and the motivation
to comply with those said expectations and if it is viewed as a result of social pressure or subjective
norm (Ajzens, 1971). Control beliefs go on to focus on factors that may positively or negatively
influence performance of that behavior and the thought power of those factors and perceived
behavioral control. When you consider all of these three views, you develop behavioral intention
(1971). It is suggested

African American Stereotypes In Literature
Minorities are some of the most targeted and mistreated people in the world because of a
misconceptions we are given. Many people already have this image or idea of a person before getting
to know them because of what they have heard or read. Cultural representation of people and how
they are portray in literature affect how people are viewed and treated.
Some common stereotypes are that Asians are very intelligent people. For Latinos, many people
believe that they are gang affiliated and not very intelligent. As for African Americans, some common
ones include that they all are very similar in appearance or that they are all on welfare or that they
have big lips. Many believe that white people are rich and privileged. We hear these stereotypes as

Going back to the Freedom Writers book, many of the student had a hostile attitude towards their
teacher because she was white and they don t feel like she is up to the task because they feel like she is

was rich because culturally white people are represented more highly as opposed to minorities. Many
people have less trust in African Americans and Latinos because they are associated with drugs and
violence. In Ferguson Brown was shot by a police officer because he believed brown was armed, this
mistrust caused brown s death and an up roaring.
Historically literature undermines the minorities. African Americans went from being slave to separate
but equal to equal though there is still some racism. In literature minorities are sometimes portrayed as
bad people. Even in television, the heroes are mostly white people. In the future there could be more
diversity since more ethnic groups are being added. Take Princesses for example, Most of them are

Procedures And Procedures Of Medical Coding
Medical coding is a very detailed process in which health care professionals use to code an insurance
claim, to submit for reimbursement of services. In the following scenario, my task would be to explain
the process and steps I took, to code patients cases using ICD 9. When coding it s very important to
code correctly to avoid delays in reimbursement and proper reimbursement. The following will
explain the steps I took to perform proper medical coding. When I code with ICD 9 I generally weed
out the diagnosis that has been stated and where on the body this diagnosis came from. Some terms
you want to avoid performing when coding a claim are, unbundling, upcoding, overcoding, jamming,
and downcoding (Green, M, 2014, pg. 12). Those terms are when you code claim improperly which
can cause delays and in some cases audits can happen, and insurance companies can revoke your
rights to submit claims to them. That could detrimental to a small practice because they wouldn t be
able to accept that insurance and bill claims, so patients would have to find another provider. There is
a Code of Ethics that helps differentiate the rights and wrongs with guidelines for ethical coding
practices (pg. 13). After I locate the correct term to code, I locate the code in the tabular list, which is
arranged numerically (Optum coding, 2015, pg. VI). While analyzing a code it s important to look for

This shows that brand country of origin play an important role in determining the quality of brand
which influences their attitude and purchase intentions. In developing country like Pakistan brand
origin (that the brand is from which country) affects the perception of consumers for foreign products
(Kaynak et al., 1999) and this foreign product can be more favorable if the brand is from the western
or developed country. Consumers evaluate products more positively which are particularly from the
USA, Japan, Germany, Italy, the UK and France (Bhuian, 1997) brands are well recognized by
consumers around the world, and are perceived as to representing a high status and quality we believe
that this effect consumer assessment of brand quality rating (Lee,M,Y., Knight,D., Kim,Y,K., 2008)
Looking at how consumers perceive local brands. The study revealed that local brands benefit from a
better value. As it is mention by Simriti Bajaj (2007) that Value is linked with the fact that prices of
local brands are usually lower than those of international brands, providing consumers as sense of

Analysis Of Maria Remarque s All Quiet On The Western Front
Remarque s novel All Quiet on the Western Front is a classic coming of age narrative set in a
treacherous environment. While Remarque may have intended for his novel to be a frank depiction of
the effects of war upon young men, what he achieves is a young man s transition into maturity,
exacerbated by the dangerous setting. Throughout the work, Paul Baumer and his young friends find
themselves in situations they would have encountered regardless of the presence of war. These include
but are not limited to exploring the dynamics of interpersonal relationships and the quintessential
departing from home. Initially, the young men experience an occurrence one would typically associate
with entering adulthood and leaving childhood behind; departing

Toronto Mississippi by Joan Macleod Essay
Literature as defined by Merriam Webster Dictionary is the body of written works produced in a
particular language, country, or age . Literature comes in different variations, languages, and from
different countries. Canadian literature is literature made exclusively by an author of Canadian descent
that understands what life is as a Canadian. The Canadian play I chose to read was Toronto
Mississippi by Joan Macleod. The play has different themes that can be used as to teaching tools in
Canadian English classes. The theme of being handicapped is the theme that the play revolves around.
The talented playwright Joan Macleod has yet again made another successful play and should be used
as teaching tool to teach students in Canadian English ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the play progresses, Jhana s father is slowly introduced as King; he is an Elvis impersonator and is
constantly touring so he is rarely ever home with Jhana or Maddie. With the constant abandonment of
her husband, Maddie is given the very strenuous task of having to take care of her 18 year old
mentally handicapped daughter and having to deal with Bill who eventually falls in love with her.
Having to deal with all this affects Maddie and there are points in the play where she snaps at Jhana
for the stuff she does. We see Maddie has gotten used to all the stuff Jhana does that when King
returns home and says Jhana s real weird, eh she responds by saying what else is new (Macleod 41)
showing how she has gotten used to Jhana s antics, yet still gets agitated by what Jhana does. Bill falls
in love with Maddie and acts as a father figure to Jhana while her father is touring in North America.
Maddie is still in love with King but every time he leaves it affects Maddie in a very negative way.
King chooses his job over his family thus forcing Maddie into a state of sadness and this is evident
when she says Hold on to my perfect little girl. (holding Jhana) You were so warm. To hell with that
bed of mine that had suddenly become so big and icy. I ve got Jhana. (Macleod 58). Maddie realizes
how true of a friend Bill has become that by the end of the play she considers Bill and expresses this
by saying My family is down on the floor (Macleod 94). She

Analysis Of 2016 At T
Over the course of 2016 AT T has found itself at the center of many business and news articles.
However, they are not stories of praise or of the bright future that AT T faces but yet stories of concern
and challenges that lie ahead for the large world renowned telecommunication company. Here we will
take a deeper dive into the growing concerns of AT T and form an environmental analysis of the three
most significant factors, in my opinion that AT T is currently or will face in the near future.
One of the biggest concerns for AT T falls into the category of Threat of Substitution and is the same
concern that many other cable companies have and that is the waves and waves of cord cutters that are
consuming TV in a very different manner. We ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That leaves satellite margins at $42 and pushes DirecTV Now margins to slim, or even negative . The
only positive that AT T can take away from this is that almost every other cable company is facing the
same issues. However, it could prove to be detrimental to one of AT T s competitive advantages,
differentiated services.
Another looming concern posing a threat to AT T ties in with the first concern of AT T s new cable
plan through Direct TV, Direct TV Now and the free streaming feature the service offers. Federal
regulators raised new concerns about AT T Inc. s practice of excluding its new DirecTV Now
streaming service from data charges and, for the first time, lobbed similar questions at Verizon
Communications Inc. . Verizon similarly allows customers to stream NFL games from Twitter or its
go90 app without using data. The agency argues the practice could deter consumers from accessing
mobile video services not affiliated with the carriers, such as those from Netflix Inc. or Hulu, which is
co owned by Walt Disney Co., Comcast Corp., 21st Century Fox and Time Warner Inc. 21st Century
Fox and News Corp, parent company of The Wall Street Journal, share common ownership . Both AT
T and Verizon are insistent that allowing customers to steam content without data usage or charges is
beneficial to customer, but most view this practice as a way to diminish competition in

The Bandura Study Essay
The Bandura Study
A) The Bandura study aimed to see if children copying aggression that they see in adults. In the study
a male or female model was aggressive toward a bobo doll, the children were then observed to see if
they imitated any behaviour shown by the model, or if they were/weren t aggressive. There were also
2 control groups, one of which had seen a non aggressive male/female model and another group was
observed after seeing no model.
The results showed that the children were more aggressive when they had seen the aggressive model.
Boys were, on average, more aggressive than girls. The gender of the model also had an affect on the
behaviour of the children. Boys were more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This may have made the child more aggressive than it would usually have been which would show
that child as being more aggressive and so affecting the results. There was also a big cultural change
in the years following Banduras study. When this study took place there were very stereotypical views
of men and women, this means that the children may have been reluctant to copy the behaviour of the
aggressive female model, but were more likely to copy the behaviour of the aggressive male model,
because society at the time expected more aggression from men. Girls may also have been less
aggressive at that time because it was what was expected from society and vice versa with the boys.
2. Another problem with snapshot studies as they really go against the point of developmental
psychology. They don t look at how children develop and change over time, a snapshot just looks at
one aspect over a very short period of time. Generalisations are then made of all children and young
people, from the results of a few children of a certain age. In the Bandura study he used children of a
nursery age and observed them for only 20mins; the results are then seen has having big implications
on television and computer games. The results could have been like they were because children of that
age are impressionable or that they feel that they have to copy adults more than older children,

Holidays Of Jewish Essay
Holidays of Judaism
Sabbath is playing an important role in the daily life of Jewish people. Sabbath is the Hebrew word for
resting. Celebrating the Sabbath is commanded by God, which mentioned in the Ten Commandments.
The rest idea of the Sabbath came from the story of the Creation book when God created the universe
and rested on the seventh day of the week. Every week religious Jews observe the Sabbath which
begins at nightfall on Friday and lasts until nightfall on Saturday. This holy day is a reminder of the
covenant, which was the part of the deal between God and Jewish people. People look forward to
Sabbath all week as they considered the Sabbath is a gift from God. It also takes time out from

Passover is one of the most important religious festivals in the calendar. Jews celebrate the Feast of
Passover to honor the liberation of the Children of Israel, who was led out of Egypt by Moses. The
Passover has celebrated since about 1300 BC. The story of Passover came from the Book of Exodus.
This story mentioned that the Children of Israel has been slave in Egypt form 210 years. Then, God
promises he would release them from slavery. However, Pharaoh had refused their release. Therefore,
God had visited ten plagues on Egypt to demonstrate his power. First plague is the Plague of Blood
when God turned the water of the Nile River into blood. It caused the fish died and the water stank.
Then all the water in Egypt was turned into blood. The second plague is the Plague of Frogs. Egypt
was overrun with frogs. There were frogs in beds, ovens, and jumping on the people. Third was the
Plague of Lice which called the Plague of Gnats in the Bible. The dust was turned into lice, which
crawled on people and animals. The fourth is the Plague of Flies. There were the swarms of flies
arrived in Egypt and poured into Pharaoh s place, the houses of his officials,

The Poetry Of Billy Collins
Billy Collins is a distinguished Professor of English at Lehman College, as well as a teacher at Stony
Brook Southampton in New York. He was poet laureate of the United States from 2001 until 2003. He
has published 15 books of poetry since 1977. The poetry of Billy Collins is almost always prose
poetry. This most certainly is a factor in his popularity, as it is more accessible than more formal
and/or esoteric forms of poetry. Unlike traditionally utilized forms of poetic speech, Collin s use of
prose allows the meaning of what he s saying to be very direct and clear, and the stories themselves to
be the main focus of the poems. The stories Collins tells are usually filled with humor and warmth that
create an immediate familiarity between the author and reader. His poetry shows his experience of the
world in a way that paints even the most mundane of subjects extraordinary. Domesticity and routine
are bathed in a warm glow of playfulness and gratitude. Even poems expressing irritation or anger
conclude with a humorous denouement. This ability to defamiliarize commonplace subjects is the crux
of Collin s talent. The defamiliarization of ordinary life, written in prose poetic form, is what makes
his poetry both accessible and exceptional. Defamiliarization is a term first coined by the literary
theorist Viktor Shklovsky to explain the poetic method of creating an unfamiliar description of a
familiar thing. The traditional method of defamiliarization takes an

Entrepreneurs John Woodruff of Springfield and Cyrus Avery of Tulsa played a crucial role in promoting the concept of an interregional link between Los Angeles and Chicago. However, their lobbying efforts did not bear much fruit until the initiation of the national program towards the development of highways and roads. Notably, legislations for public roads first appeared in 1916 and later revised in 1921. • 7. U.s. Foreign Policy Towards Belarus To: Secretary of State John Kerry From: Rob Foglia, country desk officer of Belarus Re: Recommended U.S. foreign policy towards Belarus Date: October 12, 2014 Oppression in Belarus Breaking Free from Russia Belarus has the veil of a political stranglehold cast over it by the looming and neighboring Russia. Freedoms are non existent, a tyrant maintains control over the country, and democracy is nowhere in sight. I have a few recommendations on how U.S. foreign policy towards Belarus can help fix many of these issues, and help direct the country towards Democracy. First, I will highlight some history on the so called Republic of Belarus to help put some context on the situation. Belarus became one of the first members of the ... The newly formed republic became primarily communist, mainly because of all the Russian integration that had already occurred. In 1994, The Republic of Belarus elected Alexander Lukashenko as the President of Belarus. He was officially reelected in 2001, 2006 and 2010. However, the United States (as well as other western Nations) does not recognize the results of the 2010 elections under which the Central Election Commission of Belarus declared Lukashenko president. This is because Western countries decried the election as a farce and an egregious affront to democracy and human rights. Many of Lukashenko s opposition leaders had mysterious disappearances. The United States and the European Union called for the release of all imprisoned former candidates, but took no further action except a travel ban on Lukashenko. By contrast, countries such as Syria, Russia, and China congratulated the re elected incumbent. This is just a sample of the Dictatorship that is veiled as a Republic in Belarus. • 8. Analysis Of Heather Havrilesky s No Sympathy For The Devil In the No Sympathy for the Devil Heather Havrilesky tells us how the appearance of the hero influences the attitude of the audience towards him. Havrilesky claims that: the likability of any given protagonist represents one of the most subjective assessments you can make about a TV show (465). I agree with his statement and my opinion can be explained with the help of the hero Damon from the TV show The Vampire Diaries. Damon is one of the most evil guys in the Vampire Diaries TV show, but sometimes he does good deeds. The main confirmation of my statement is two good Damon s action: he saves Caroline after a car accident and protects Elena from killing. The first way I will agree with Havrilesky is an example of how Damon saved Caroline after a car accident. Damon in the TV show The Vampire Diaries is shown by an evil handsome with an unpleasant temperament. In most cases, he does only bad things and takes care of himself, but sometimes he really surprises the audience by helping others and doing good deeds. One of the main examples of this behavior is when in the second season in the Brave New World series he saves Caroline after a car accident. Damon gives her his blood so that she will recover faster and feels better. Unfortunately, Caroline is killed and she becomes a vampire. After all the events, Caroline s mom finds out the truth, but even here Damon does not give in. He supports Caroline and tries to reconcile them with Mom. In the end, Caroline and Damon become friends. Thus, it becomes clear that even bad characters in a TV show can do good deeds. But in fact, if you think for a minute, each viewer is sick and sympathetic to Damon, despite all the bad things he does. Havrilesky says: For the past decade, TV has been awash with deeply flawed antiheroes: philandering ad men and pill popping nurses, meth cooking chemistry teachers and mob boss suburban dads. But when you launch a show that s centered on an unethical protagonist, how do you keep viewers engaged and invested in that character indefinitely or at least through six seasons? (465).The author says that a really negative hero forces viewers to follow him to the very end. Watching how his life develops. It s the bad characters that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is a place where I can escape from the world to put all of my emotions into something I love. I have been riding for 9 years and have been showing for 5 years. Riding is not an easy sport as some people believe it to be, riding takes determination and passion. Being an equestrian means being tough and a fighter while being graceful. I have never really had a coach who believed in me until Spring of 2016 when a new trainer came to our barn. Megan Taylor is a coach that believed in my and wanted to push me to be a better rider. My friend Brooke was has always been a strong supporter of me, also was so thankful that Megan became our coach. Joint tenant with rights of survivorship The first property to be discussed is a Mountain Property purchased by Martin 31 years ago. Martin bought this property with a group of friends as joint tenants with a right of survivorship. In most states, a joint tenant with the right of survivorship states that each owner of the property has equal shares and no one person can have more than the other. It also states that each of the owners holds their portions of the property until a time in which one of the owner s dies. At his point, the property is redistributed equally to the remaining owners. • 13. The Saints And The Roughnecks Social scientists look at the world. They look at their surroundings, asking why things happen, how everything came to be, and what we can understand further about our existence. To do all of these things, social scientists must follow different methodologies depending on what they are trying to find out about. One example of a study can be found in William Chambliss article The Saints and the Roughnecks. To gather the data for this study, Chambliss examined the ethnography of Hanibal High School and two of its prominent gangs. His two years of direct behavioral research allowed him to thoroughly scrutinize the effects of class on the Saints and the Roughnecks. The conclusions that he drew, stemming from the unequal treatment of the gangs, were sound because his ethnographical work was more than just casual observation and subsequently provided him with ample evidence to analyze. It is first important to define what ethnography is because it is a prominent method that social scientists use in their research (Roy, lecture 4). Professor Roy defines ethnography as looking at culture a methodological skill of observation in a natural setting. Chambliss was able to do this with his qualitative research at Hanibal. Qualitative research, compared to quantitative, is often characterized by a depth of information from a limited number of cases (Ragin Amoroso 28). This type of study relies on the human component of interaction in the real world. Chambliss actively engaged with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. The Romance Language In today s society, almost everyone is familiar with the languages of Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese, Romanian, and Catalan, or better known as the Romance languages . One might wonder as to why they are commonly known as the Romance languages, and the simple answer is that all these languages lead back to the language of the Romans: Latin. Latin became a language commonly used during the start of the city of Rome, around the Tiber River, in the seventh century B.C., but unfortunately came to an end during the Second Vatican Council from 1962 to 1965, where the Catholic Church made the decision to change the language of the liturgies from Latin to the vernacular language of the area. Although the Latin language is considered dead in modern society, the evolution of Latin into the Romantic languages has been able to influence billions of speakers since the ninth century. One might be inquisitive as to how a language can change over time, but languages do not just change, they evolve, as well. Language is a natural growth, and not an instrument which we shape for our own purposes (Orwell 707). Languages cannot change by force, but rather will change over a period of time with the help of society to influence the development of words and phrases. The evolution of languages comes naturally, usually with influences from other spoken languages close enough to the main region where a language is spoken. These changes enter the language, and, with time, the language has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Because the electronic world demands attention from the physical world, there are effects that are to be expected. The ever present electronic word, that demands everyone s attention, is playing a role in how life in the real world is lived; people now interact with one another and establish relationships differently as a result. It matters to those looking for a relationship and even those who are already in one. Anyone who depends on technology, experiences the effect it has on how life is done. One of the most drastic changes that technology allows for it the ability to edit oneself. Prior to the majority of people owning a cell phone, most conversations happened in a face to face setting. When talking to someone in real time, responses are required to be immediate, but talking online or through texting allows for a pause. But, a digital interaction unfolds differently. Slouching behind a device allows for ample delay. The extra time may be spent editing oneself words to create a persona or simply in avoidance. Regardless, people engaging in a face to face conversation expect an immediate response whereas a digital conversation allows for the pause that is almost expected. • 16. Creating A Blue Ocean Strategy According to Michael Porter, a company strategist who understands that competition extends well beyond existing rivals will detect wider competitive threats and be better equipped to address them (Porter, 2008, p.16). Thinking comprehensively about the structure of the industry as well as its customers can afford companies the ability to obtain superior performance. Therefore, it is key for companies to focus on how to maintain existing customers as well as lure new ones. Three tiers of non customers As we have learned from our readings, to create a blue ocean strategy means to reach out to untapped market space, demand creation, and the opportunity for highly profitable growth (Kim Mauborgne, 2005, p.4). These blue ocean strategies can exist beyond existing industries/markets or they can be expanded upon in existing markets (red oceans). Either way, companies need to go beyond competing (p.5). To do so companies should identify and attract non customers. The three tiers of non customers identify different level of non customers companies can attract to convert them into new customers. We will discuss these non customers as it applies to the Apple IPhone. The first tier non customers are those smartphone users that are curious about the IPhone and interested in possible switching. The launch of the IPhone 5 was geared towards two sets of buyers; existing customers and first tier non customers. Both sets were disappointed with the previous IPhones screen sizes. The ... Numerous propellers are manufactured out of plastic and carbon fiber, which is often reserved for drones of higher quality (Corrigan, 2015). To limit the amount of damage done to the propellers, propeller guards can be purchased and used to prevent unwanted outside contact with the drones. These guards also ensure the safety of individuals both controlling the drone remotely and those who may be located near the flight path. Significant amounts of innovation are occurring with this particular drone component. As the quality of propellers increase, the better the flight experience will be for owners. One of the sizable innovations in this area involves low noise propellers as drones are often known for making a buzzing sound as they fly through the air. Pusher Propellers As stated in the name, these propellers are responsible for pushing the drone through the air and are located at the rear of the drone. However, unlike the standard propellers located at the front of the drone, these actually rotate opposite of the direction of the standard propellers (Quimby, 2015). This was significant because it opened a great deal of insight into how the Romans went about their day, how they decorated their homes, what materials they used to decorate their homes, building structures and much more information that proved to be very helpful in our understanding of how Romans lived and how they went about their everyday lives. With this one quote Peter Senge has managed to mock the modern education system. Today s educational institutions do exactly what Senge says not to; teachers try to transfer knowledge to their students through lectures, worksheets, and rubrics. This type of instruction, called essentialism, limits student s creativity. Students are unable to act independently from teacher expectations. Essentialism tends to have one right answer and only one way of finding this solution. Instruction following this set up will begin to reduce student perseverance; students become frustrated if they cannot solve the problem the way the teacher described and often give ... Learning can be defined in many different ways. The Merriam Webster dictionary defines learning as, knowledge or skill acquired by instruction or study and modification of a behavioral tendency by experience Both definitions are needed when describing learning since both cognitive and behavioral learning occur. In a constructivist classroom learning can be defined as, humans construct[ing] knowledge and meaning from their experiences. (The University of Sydney) These classrooms embraced learning more strongly than classrooms with a behaviorist orientation and far better than classrooms with a laissez faire teacher (DiGiulio, 2004, p. 54). Creativity and imagination are abundant among children, especially at the elementary school age. Many philosophical approaches to education limit creativity and focus on following rules and listening to instructions. Constructivist teachers refuse to limit students abilities providing students with freedom of choice. Constructivism allows each student to learn in the style best suited for them, whether that style is hands on learning, visual learning, or auditory learning, students want to learn. Cultural And Linguistic Boundaries And Influence Survey design can raise issues that can traverse the cultural and linguistic boundaries and influence the survey questions selection and procedure. These issues can become more pressing and critical especially when surveys are conducted in support of vital entities such as government policies, program evaluations, human rights investigations and government policies. Survey accommodation to certain cultures and languages is an issue of importance and significance. There are logical reasons for these issues as survey participants can interpret things and respond differently according to the question order effects, cultural and language background. Also, the participants` understanding of the survey construction, intention, data usage and assurance of their information, can influence the designer`s approach of questions construction and organization (Blair Piccinino, 2005). The previous literature reviews shed the light on several aspects such as the survey design implications. The importance of the survey context becomes apparent when the researchers consider the situations where cultural and linguistic factors are involved. The nation began a witch hunt lead by Senator Joseph McCarthy to find these supposed communists. The government targeted anyone and everyone, especially if they voiced opposition to the trials. In response to this bout of unjust trials, Arthur Miller wrote The Crucible, a book about the witch trials in Salem, Massachusetts in 1692, which later became a movie 1996. The movie opens in the woods, where the village s young girls are dancing and screaming in various states of undress. Mental health crisis range from one extreme to another being death, suicide or homicide. A goal for health care providers is to prevent these types of those extremes from happening. The most widely used social cognition model for predicting and explaining health behavior is the Theory of Planned Behavior (Ogden, 2003). Icek Ajzen s Theory of Planned Behavior was used as a framework to explain the relationship between one s attitude and behavior and whether or not it can be predicted and or prevented. What the Theory of Planned Behavior focuses on are three kinds of views, behavioral beliefs, normative beliefs and control beliefs (Ajzens, 1971). Atzens suggests that behavioral beliefs focus on the likelihood of the outcome of behavior and the evaluation and whether or not they have a positive or negative attitude toward the behavior itself. Normative belief focuses on the expectations of others and the motivation to comply with those said expectations and if it is viewed as a result of social pressure or subjective norm (Ajzens, 1971). Control beliefs go on to focus on factors that may positively or negatively influence performance of that behavior and the thought power of those factors and perceived behavioral control. When coding it s very important to code correctly to avoid delays in reimbursement and proper reimbursement. The following will explain the steps I took to perform proper medical coding. He was poet laureate of the United States from 2001 until 2003. He has published 15 books of poetry since 1977. The poetry of Billy Collins is almost always prose poetry.
