The City of Boston was the first to then set out to lay the groundwork for a progressing fire service.
In 1653, Boston instituted multiple codes which equipped buildings with firefighting tools and a
central water system. Then, in 1676 a new code issued a requirement for the use of fire resistant
material in building construction. Simultaneously in 1676, Boston purchased the first fire
pumper which would force water, from a tank, out of a hose. The tank in the pumper would
require a supply of water to keep the tank filled. The fire department had no way of obtaining a
constant or pressurized water supply, thus, Boston instituted the first paid per diem bucket brigade
staffed by twelve men, alongside the first fire captain, Thomas Atkins, who would transport and
operate the pump at a fire scene. After the success of the first organized fire department, by 1720,
ten new fire stations would develop in Boston consisting of six engines and twenty men, which
would assist each other if the fire demanded more manpower. The assisting of each other at fire
scenes instituted the rudimentary principle of mutual aid in the fire service, which plays a pivotal

Food additives are chemicals that are added to foods to keep them fresh or to enhance their
color, flavor, or texture. They might include food colorings, flavor enhancers, or a range of
preservatives. Most of the time, food additives are listed on the product label (along with other
ingredients), spelt out in full or with a code. Some common food additives may include; artificial
sweeteners, high fructose corn syrup, monosodium glutamate (MSG), trans fat, common food dyes,
and many more. It all depends on what type of additive and your body weight/height to determine
the limit of these additives you should have on a daily basis. Artificial sweeteners are a sugar
substitute that provides a sweet taste like sugar, but contains less food energy, and are usually
genetically modified. Effects of artificial sweeteners can include messing with your hormones,
making you overheat, increase the risk of diabetes, and they pollute your water. They can also
cause weight gain, metabolic syndrome, and cardiovascular disease. High fructose corn syrup is a
sweetener made from corn starch, it has been processed by glucose isomerase to convert some of

clearly fed off of and fostered the crusading zeal, there is some debate as to whether or not they

authorized by papal bulls and officially recognized as crusades, it is unclear whether the campaigns
to Livonia and Esthonia in the 13th century can be rightfully called crusades. These campaigns

Is life even possible without parents when you are a teenager? Try raising two younger brothers
on top of that. In S.E. Hinton s book, The Outsiders, Darry Curtis took this duty into his own

the two sides of town that leads to the death of three kids, two greasers and Soc. Does the sun set

Dogs only do what their owners tell them to do. If you want them to protect your home and your
children, that is exactly what they will do. If you want them to attack on command, they will listen.
However, they could attack someone without being commanded to do so which could cause a
problem. Pit bull have a reputation based on how majority of their owners have taught them.
They do not have a good reputation. They were only trying to please the ones who they thought
