Hurricane Katrina was a catastrophic natural disaster in American history. The aftermath had
substantial negative impact on New Orleans and it could have been avoided if proper disaster
management practices were put in place. Therefore, it is important to determine the factors that caused
the hurricane to be catastrophic. One factor that was responsible for the disaster was failure of the
three levels of the government working cohesively (Thiede Brown, 2013). The incoherent interaction
between the three levels of government will be assessed. Another factor that will be examined is social

I. Background
CW, an 18 year old Caucasian male, presented at a rural hospital located in northwest New Mexico.
CW complained of flu like symptoms including a headache, chills, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, and
myalgia for the previous two to four days (Staff, 2014). He stated within the past 24 to 48 hours he
had developed a productive cough, a tightening in his chest, and shortness of breath. When questioned
what, his activities were prior to the onset of symptoms he stated he was a student and played tight
end for the football team. When probed further he stated one to two weeks prior he cleaned some
sheds on his parent s farm. While waiting on lab results from the bloodwork, CW went into respiratory
distress. He was intubated and sent to the ICU for supportive care.
II. Physical and Laboratory Findings
On examination, the physician listened to CW s lungs, noting there was diminished lung sounds with
crackling. Chest X ray showed acute pneumonia in both lungs. The physician also noted swelling in
CW s chest and neck area (Cunha, 2015). Blood was drawn with a heparinized vacutainer tube and a
serum separator vacutainer for serology, and reverse transcriptase polymerase chain raction testing.

When it comes to attachment, it is said that it is the basis for human relationships in all societies.
Attachment is the emotional touch between two people. In the video, to study the experiment of
attachment, they used the example of an infant and its mother. The infant and mother were taken into a

swim league from third to twelfth grade, and a former summer league coach, I valued swimming as a
demanding part of my life. With an aunt as a coach for an Olympic training team and cousins that
qualified for Olympic trials I was predestined to become a part of this subculture. My parents threw
me into lessons at the age of five, signed me up for our neighborhood summer league team the year

around eight thousand calories a day but a professional swimmer averages around twelve thousand
