The Negative Effects Of Technology In Dave Eggers s The...
Imagine a world where everyone s enigmatic thoughts were exposed to the public. Today, in the vast
cyberspace, anonymity leads to audacious actions of cruel words posted by rather introverted
individuals who would not dare to speak those words in a face to face encounter. Furthermore, they
refuse to be held accountable for their actions and interfere with peace by creating chaos. The phrases
secrets are lies , sharing is caring and privacy is theft (CITE?) are explicated in Dave Eggers, The
Circle. Mae Holland follows these three mantras, justified by leaders of the Circle, to make life
changing decisions. A world extracted of anonymity and instead, policed by an omniscient public is
one cause to the negative effects of technology on one s private life. In The Circle, programs are
developed in the Circle to implicate improved and advanced living conditions through the use of
technology. Ironically, these programs such as Past Perfect , ChildTrack , SoulSearch and SeeChange
introduce immoral issues. The plot of The Circle by Dave Eggers portrays the negative aspects of
technology on private lives shown through character experiences in the novel and raises unethical
issues about the programs created in the Circle, which correspond to the influence technology has in
the real world. Mae Holland started her job at the Circle, known to be the most powerful company in
the world. It combines someone s entire online footprint into a single online identity. The company

What Was Elon Musk Major Accomplishments
When something is important enough, you do it even if the odds are not in your favor. (Musk). Elon
Musk is a man that does not give up. He failed many, many times before he succeeded. The
contributions he has made and continues to make to our society is incredible. Elon Musk is a perfect
example of the fact that the greatest things take time and patience. This 21st century developer has
founded and formed numerous things that play important roles in our everyday life.
The South African born entrepreneur Elon Musk had a unique childhood. The future millionaire was
born in Pretoria, South Africa on June 28, 1971 (Elon Musk, Business Insider). He was the first son to
a South African, British father and a Canadian mother. As a young boy, he was quite awkward and
small. He was interested in Sci Fi, computers, and comic books (Elon Musk, Business Insider). He
was profusely picked on by his classmates, and despised going to school. Musk got his first personal

He does not approve of the old fashioned way to do things. Other car manufacturing companies have
done things the same way for a long time, and it has worked. Elon however sees where he can
improve and create his own way of doing things in a more efficient manner. I connect with Elon
because we both disagree with how things have always been done. I do not like to do something just
because it has always been done that way, and Elon Musk thinks the same way.
I chose Elon Musk because I wanted to write about a person who made an impact on my current world
today, and broke boundaries that no one ever thought could be broken. Elon Musk fit both those
requirements, and had many intriguing accomplishments. His innovations and contributions continue
to affect my life every day. Someday I could be one of the many middle class citizens driving a Tesla

I.Introduction . A)Purpose. Renault Uk As A Pioneer In
I. Introduction
a) Purpose
Renault UK as a pioneer in the Electric Vehicle (EV) industry has a good performance in the EV
market. This report first described Renault UK and the product New ZOE analysed in this article; then
this report generally introduced the same type of vehicle and Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) on the
market. Based on the information, this report listed all aspects of external factors New ZOE faced and
analysed the actual situation; then comprehensive analysis the two development opportunities and
potential threats in the end. The purpose of this report is to analyse the external factors of New ZOE
and to present opportunities and threats accordingly to help better respond to the market.

Meanwhile, the starting price is from £13995 for Expression Nav with a compulsory battery hire of
£59 per month. Roberts (2016) reported that Renault had delivered its largest UK order of ZOE EV to
Europcar UK for the provision and collection of rental vehicles in the UK due to some key features
such as easy to use and environmental compatibility. More than 10,000 full electric vehicle sales, up
3.3% in 2015. ZOE made a strong contribution to this performance. In the first six months of 2015,
continued Renault in Europe was the best selling manufacturer of electric vehicles. (Dow Jones
Factiva, 2017).
d) Substitute products and manufacturers in the same market
Although the market is dominated by HEV, the industries new car sales in 2015 by 86.1%, there is
evidence that the sales of 100% EV have recently experienced particularly strong growth. (Mason,
2017a) Please see appendix A for further details on new registrations of HEV and EV from 2011 to
2016. In this market, EV not only needs to compete with other EV from different manufacturers but
also needs to consider HEV as substitute products. EV and HEV belong to ULEV (Ultra Low
Emission Vehicles) An analysis of those who are active in the ULEV section of the hybrid and power
markets shows how the sector currently competes by a relatively limited number of manufacturers,

of cancer cells by restoring the function of the sodium iodine symporter (NIS), and thus, they may
restore the iodine uptake by the refractory TCs

patients with refractory DTCs; however, the results were clinically disappointing as the RR was 0, 56

17 % of cases [37]. But it is not clear if this redifferentiation of the tumor will improve the outcome
for patients with refractory TCs.
Lithium
The effect of RAI with lithium carbonate was studied in 12 patients with metastatic DTC. Despite an
increased uptake of RAI in seven patients, no beneficial effect of RAI with lithium was observed on
the clinical course as assessed by
TG measurements and radiographically [38].
Thalidomide
Thalidomide and its derivative lenalidomide were studied in progressive MTC and DTC but without

Theme Of Blood Wedding
Blood wedding is a play written by the Spanish dramatist Federico Garcia Lorca. This play is based on
true events that has occurred in 1982, in the town of Nijar.
One of the main themes in this play is death and violence. The symbol of blood is used mainly to
bring out these two themes. The title of the play is very apt and gives us a glimpse into the story. This
could have two meanings, one being the death of the bridegroom after the wedding and the other
meaning could be the actual blood and violent relationship the bride and Leonardo had. Blood is used
in this text to symbolize fate, and death, and exposed how for certain characters within the story, their
ultimate destiny would be death. Blood is a symbol for both life and death, passion, love, and heritage.
Leonardo is a hot blooded person, who does not think before acting. Leonardo is also quick tempered,
but he is a passionate lover, that is full of life and vigor. The blood was flowing stronger than water
This is showing that blood is stronger than water and how Leonardo s love and passion is for the blood
of the Bride is stronger than his wife s and children s, water . This point is relevant as the characters
are personalized with good blood and bad blood. Making it seem like ... Show more content on

The word blood itself is frequently mentioned and the conversation they have determines the fate that
the characters have in the play. The First Woodcutter says to the other two, ...The blood couldn t be

that the outcome of the search will undeniably be fruitless; they will not be able to bring back
everyone alive. The moon is too bloodthirsty and its desire for blood to warm its world is too strong to
be denied. But, nonetheless, the woodcutters are hopeful for a positive

Role Of Gods In The Odyssey
The Odyssey details Odysseus arduous return to his homeland. Ten years have passed since the end of
the Trojan war and Odysseus, the most cursed man alive , has been missing and presumed dead by
many. (10.79). Throughout the novel, gods play a significant role in the fate of Odysseus and other
characters. The extent of the gods role though is not unqualified, contrary to Telemachus suggestion
that, Zeus is to blame./He deals to each and every/ laborer on this earth whatever doom he pleases
(1.401 403). While Zeus does have this power, his description of how humans meet their fate is more
accurately depicted throughout the novel. As he aptly points out, from us alone, the say, come all their
miseries, yes,/ but they themselves, with their own reckless ways,/ compound their pain beyond their
proper share (1.38 52). While the gods do doom certain mortals, many of these mortals exacerbate
their ill fate by making rash decisions and ignoring the gods warnings. The gods are also not always
disrupting mortals lives; they often aid mortals in need. In fact, mortals who effectively court the favor
of the gods often benefit greatly. While the gods powers are unquestionable, no one god s power is
insurmountable. Gods can be outsmarted and their wrath escaped. The Odyssey, in congruence with
Zeus statement, ultimately, portrays human freedom as existent, but limited.
While mortals do not unjustly complain about their fates, they fail to acknowledge that they are also
responsible for their ill fate, as mortals themselves, possess a sizable degree of control. There is little
doubt that Odysseus and his crew are unlucky, but had it not been for their brash decisions they would
have reached Ithaca much sooner. After Odysseus cunningly escapes the Cyclops, Polyphemos, his
pride gets the best of him, as taunts the Polyphemos proclaiming, if any man on the face of the earth
should ask you/ who blinded you, shamed you so say Odysseus/ raider of cities, he gouged out your
eye (9.559 561). Odysseus arrogance furthers his misfortune, since Polyphemos is Poseidon s son.
Polyphemos proceeds to ask his father to never allow Odysseus to return and if Odysseus returns
home that it be well over due and without his crew;

Self Reliance And Self-Reliance In Into The Wild By Jon...
Trust thyself: Every heart vibrates to that iron string (Emerson). When you read that quote many
would think it is about trusting their first instincts. The way I read it though is trust in your own
decisions even if they go off the normal beaten path because everyone has their own path they are
destined to travel on. This theory of self reliance is shown in Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer and Self
Reliance by Ralph Waldo Emerson since they both display it in following their passion in self
reliance.
In Into The Wild Jon Krakauer described the life of a non conformist that traveled across North
America; his name was Chris McCandless. McCandless believed in passion and how it was a must
since it gave purpose and happiness to a person. One of these examples is when McCandless got rid of
his whole past and started to recreate the future. He did this by giving $25,000 to charity, abandoning
his car, and burning all the cash in his wallet (Krakauer). This showed that Chris was willing to drop
everything to follow his dream and that his passion drove him in making his decisions. Chris also didn
t tell his family where he was going which shows that he left his family behind also. I just don t
understand why he had to take those kind of chances, ... I just don t understand at all (Krakauer 132).
This quote was Chris s mom talking about the chances he took whether it be about going to Alaska or
just leaving all together. To me it felt like his mom felt bad about his death

Cat Breeds And The Sphynx
Think of strange and unusual cat breeds and the Sphynx is bound to come to mind even if you don t
know the breed s name! The Sphynx is often referred to as the hairless cat. Remember Mr.
Bigglesworth, Dr. Evil s cat in the Austin Powers movies? The Sphynx is not a truly hairless cat,
although it appears to be. The Sphynx s skin is often covered by a very soft peach fuzz. These cats
also are known for their wedge shaped heads and curious natures. Their skin is warm and soft to the
touch, feeling like a very fine leather. The Sphynx may or may not have whiskers. Because they do not
have coats to keep them warm, Sphynx cats tend to be very affectionate, often snuggling up to other
animals and people. If you get one of these cats, prepare to make room under the covers at night, as it
will probably want to curl up next to you. Its lack of a coat means no shedding and no need for
brushing. However, the Sphynx still requires plenty of loving care and maintenance. Body oils tend to
accumulate on their skin, while other cats absorb them in their coats. This means that the Sphynx
requires regular bathing. These cats also should have limited exposure to sunlight, as they can develop
a sunburn similar to that of a human. They also should not be exposed to cold temperatures because of
their lack of a coat for protection. In short, the Sphynx is not an outdoor cat. A common fallacy about
the Sphynx is that is hypoallergenic because of its lack of a coat. It is important to

Authority In The Jungle Book
To form an ideal sovereign, another precondition must be attained: all the members in a society need
to obey the law of the nature and to seek peace, and follow it (Hobbes 92). If not, the existence of a
sovereign will not bring any extra good to a society: the state of war (Hobbes 88) will always exist, no
matter whether there is or is not a common power. In the second part of The Jungle Books, Mowgli
decides to let in the jungle to devastate the human village simply to penalize those who have hurt him.
At that moment, he never thinks rationally about whether such a behavior is appropriate: to exclude all
the villagers, most of them innocent (maybe just silly ), out of their home, just because of several
persons malevolence and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, when Bagheera tries to save Mowgli from the monkeys, his alliance with the snake Kaa
is very weak because there is not a common power that can cover them both they cannot trust each
other in the state of nature without covenant. As a result, Bagheera needs to lie to Kaa when asking for
help: fabricating that monkeys have laughed at the snake as footless, yellow earth worm, (Kipling 32).
Also, he will be afraid that Kaa will change his mind and stop helping: ... for the believed that Kaa had
turned tail at the last minute. (Kipling 40) If there is a sovereign, they can cooperate with each other
better and carry out their goals easily. However, without those many preconditions, it is hard to ensure
that a sovereign will always work ideally. Since the preconditions are always unattainable in reality,
the ideal commonwealth is still a dream

Changes That Need to Be Implemented in the Work Situation...
What changes in the work situation might account for the increase in productivity and the decrease in
controllable rejects? The changes in the work situation that increased productivity were accountability,
self inspection, and self worth. First, accountability for each employee was achieved by making that
individual responsible for the work that they were doing. Second, the additional training gave each
person additional understanding of how the steps worked together and if they did something wrong on
a previous step, it would make it more difficult for them to continue to produce the hotplate. Before
this change, the worker did not know what happened to the hotplate or even if it actually made it to the
customer. Third, the controllable rejects likely dropped because each employee could see the problems
that were a result of their own work and each employee would continue to learn how to do the job
better on their own. This increase in job satisfaction leads to a faster pace and a more enjoyable work
experience, further decreasing bad parts coming out. 2. What might account for the drop in
absenteeism and the increase in morale? The corresponding drop in absenteeism and increase in
morale is likely due to the increase in job satisfaction for each individual employee. Having ownership
of a product, with the employee stating I produced this , gives the individual knowledge that their
whole work is reaching the end user. There is also a negative psychological reaction

The US Economy
The United States is currently experiencing a slow recovery from the recession of 2008 09. The
current unemployment rate is 7.7%, which is the lowest level since December of 2008 (BLS, 2012).
However, this rate is believed to higher than the rate that would occur if the economy was operating at
peak efficiency, and it is also believed that there are structural issues still underpinning this
performance. For example, the number of Americans who have exited the work force as the result of
prolonged unemployment is believed to be higher than usual. In addition, the Congressional Budget
Office (CBO, 2012) notes that long term unemployment of greater than 26 weeks is at a much higher
rate than normal, which will have adverse long run effects on the economy, since workers with long
term unemployment often find their career paths derailed. The current rate of GDP growth, according
to the Bureau of Economic Analysis, is 2.7% (for Q3), and it was 1.3% in Q2 of this year. This rate
reflects relatively slow growth, with challenges remaining in the domestic market and with
sluggishness in Europe suppressing exports to that region. The rate of GDP growth is predicted to
slow to a decline of 0.5% between Q4 2012 and Q4 2013, the US re entering recession, according to
the Congressional Budget Office s projections. These projections are based on the provisions of the
Budget Control Act being enacted, though any observers are doubtful that this will occur. Inflation, the

The Creative Industries Of Kanye West
Success in todays day and age is often achieved through the capitalization of creativity. When mixing
creativity with commerce, the outcome usually tends to be a lot of money. The Creative Industries is a
frankly new industry that many different people are greatly profiting from. Although the creative
industries may sound very fun and easy, like everything in life, they too face many different
challenges. Profiting off creativity can prove quite challenging for different players involved. Kanye
West is a very famous figure within the creative industries. He plays a major role within the music as
well as fashion industry. Kanye West is often times inhibited from capitalizing off of his creativity due
to his controversial behaviour and forms of expression. Kanye West s most famous controversy first
started in 2009 at the annual MTV Video Music Awards (the VMAs). Taylor Swift had just received
the award for Best Female Video, and while she was accepting her award, West interrupted claiming
that Beyonce Knowles deserved the award. This resulted in a lot of controversy and backlash towards
West including slurs, threats of violence and even threats of lynching. Kanye West justified his actions
in terms of the racial politics present in awards shows, the music industry, and the mass media more
generally (Cullen). Within a week however, West was featured in an interview with Jay Leno and
publicly apologized for his actions towards Swift. After this occurrence, West was viewed as an

Basic Details:
Name:
Ibuprofen
Drawing of Molecular Structure:
Ionic or Covalent:
Covalent
Ibuprofen Info:
Ibuprofen (C13H18O2) has the systematic name 2 (4 isobutylphenyl) propanoic acid. This makes it an
organic compound. Its melting point is melting point 74 77° C. It is a stable white crystalline powder,
slightly soluble in water and very soluble in ethanol. Its formula is also written
(CH3)2CHCH2C6H4CH(CH3) COOH, which is basically the chemical structure of ibuprofen.
Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking the production of
prostaglandins, substances that the body releases in response to illness and injury. Prostaglandins
cause swelling and pain, or inflammation. They can cause fevers because they are released to the
brain. Ibuprofen s painkilling effects become resonant soon after taking the drug. Ibuprofen is
available as gels, sprays, tablets or mousses, and it is used to relieve a variety of symptoms which
include: inflammation, swelling, pain, toothache, backache, arthritis, headache, minor injuries, and
fever. The usual adult dose for pain is 200 mg to 400 mg by mouth, every 4 to 6 hours, or 400 to 800
mg IV every 6 hours as needed. The maximum dose in one day is 3,200 mg. Children s doses are
lower than those for adults. The dose will depend on the weight and age of the child, and the severity
of the fever or other symptoms. Even though ibuprofen helps people with many conditions, it also has
some risks involved. Ibuprofen should be used with caution for people with asthma, kidney problems,
liver problems, mild heart failure, hypertension, high blood pressure, angina, and stroke. This list is
just a list of a few of the conditions which may have a negative reaction to the body. All people should
consult a qualified pharmacist or a doctor if they are unsure. Furthermore, Ibuprofen is known for
causing stomach pain, nausea and vomiting, and other gastrointestinal symptoms. These side effects
are caused by the same mechanism as the beneficial effects. The same prostaglandins that cause pain,
fever, and inflammation (which are healed by ibuprofen) also decrease stomach acid and increase
stomach mucus secretion. Both of

1. What is meant by qualitative and quantitative research?
a) Qualitative essays are more subjective and focus on the researcher s own inferences drawn from his
study of the data.
The qualitative studies use data from focus groups or case studies that the researcher herself analyses.
b) Quantitative studies are more objective and concentrate on drawing conclusions based a statistical
analysis of the data. Both types of essays seek to answer a question, called a hypothesis, about some
aspect of social phenomena. The quantitative projects use surveys that provide a set of fixed responses

Guaranteed Paid Maternal Leave in the United States
Today there are two countries in the world that do not currently guarantee paid maternity leave for
employed new mothers and/or expecting mothers, those countries are the United States and Papua
New Guinea, according to the International Labour Organization, an United Nations agency, which
recommends a minimum 18 week maternity leave (Rubin 2016, p.1). In recent years, the controversial
issue of guaranteed maternal leave has been a prominent topic of debate amongst political activists
and elites, particularly in the United States, where reform is a feasible option but has yet to be
achieved. It is this absence of policy that serves to provide guaranteed maternal for all working
mothers that has been linked to significant health related issues; these adverse effects not only impacts
those mothers, but their children as well. Although paid maternal leave remains a controversial matter,
policy reform that implements such leave is not only a feasible option in the United States, both
economically and politically, it is an ethical necessity in order to facilitate the well being of American
women. Thus, in order to work toward ethical political/governmental policy that supports the well
being of women in the United States workforce, it is crucial that guaranteed paid maternal policy is
implemented.
Today, the United States policy for maternal leave

Empathy In Harvest Gypsies
A Heart Behind Words
Authors empower our understanding of the world through compassion and empathy. Meaning to make
readers share and understand the feelings of another. In Harvest Gypsies by John Steinbeck the author
informs of two families and their tussles for survival. In the same manner, Kevin Starr in his excerpt
titled Endangered Dreams tells of a family and their daily troubles. Both taken place during the great
depression they both depict the hardships of migrant families trapped in poverty. While Dorothea
Lange helped readers perceive the poor living conditions of the 1900 s through her photo, John
Steinbeck helped evoke the most empathy through his descriptiveness, straightforward style, and
listing of dramatic events.
To begin with, Lange helped perceive the poor living conditions of the 1900 s through her photo of the
migrant mother and three children. For instance, Lange with her photo of the migrant mother helped
raise awareness, for the federal government gave the pea pickers camp, where the migrant mother had
been distinguished, twenty thousand pounds of food . (Starr 48) The photo of the unfortunate pea
pickers helped people realize how hopeless they really were. This creating a willingness to help.
Showing Lange s photography ability to create empathy through a simple photo. In addition, the
mother was so desperate for help that when the picture was taking place, there she sat in the lean to
tent motionless. (Starr 47) The migrant mother was so

The Philosophy Of Passive Management
speaking, not true. In particular, it was assumed that the market is in the state of equilibrium (i.e. all
investors have finished to complete their portfolios), operational and transaction costs (payment of
intermediaries services, staff, information services, taxes, etc.) are insignificant, the investor has the
ability to receive and grant loans on the same risk free rate, and so on. Nevertheless, the idea that the
market portfolio is probably close to an effective portfolio, initiated a passive portfolio management.
This strategy means that when the investor prepares the portfolio, determining the expected return, he
is focused entirely on the market portfolio and he doesn t carry on to make any changes in the
composition of the portfolio after its formation. Hence is the name. The philosophy of passive
management is to minimize the costs of market research and the formation of the portfolio if there is
sufficient guarantee of obtaining a stable high yield. In fact, an investor, preparing the portfolio, is
focused on some reference portfolio (benchmark portfolio), i.e. portfolio with standard yield in
comparison with the actual yield of the portfolio manager. This is not necessarily to consider as a

The, Matthew, And The Quran
Our Interpretation is Our Reality When an author begins to write a book they usually have a certain
purpose in mind. They might want to convey a message or simply entertain their reader. In the three
Abrahamic texts that we read; Genesis, Matthew, and the Quran, some would argue that the author s
purpose was to create a blueprint for how humans should live their lives; a rather daunting and
consequential task. The main problem is written text, and especially text that was written in 1,400 BC,
and based off of ideals and traditions that date back even further, in the Bibles case, is it s going to
seem outdated and may often be misread or misrepresented. A simple sentence even in modern times
can be twisted and bent to mean just about anything. Ask our politicians. Now think about what could
happen to the meaning and form of ancient text after being rewritten and translated so numerous
times. Human interpretation is key to understanding how misrepresentation has occurred in these
texts. Every person ever to be born into this world is completely different. That means their thoughts,
their values, their morals, and just about everything having to do with them is unique. This being said,
it is no wonder that when two people from opposite sides of the world read an ambiguous text, of
which, it s sole purpose is to govern how we live our lives, there might be some disagreement. This is
why context is so important. If the reader happened to be, say, a Russian person living in a

Chernobyl Russia Research Paper
In the Spring of 1986, the worst nuclear disaster the world has ever seen destroyed Chernobyl, Russia.
The Chernobyl disaster was a nuclear plant explosion that occurred when there was an unexpected
power surge that the workers were trying to fix. The reason this is the worst nuclear disaster ever seen
is because not only were there many casualties, but the health care costs were also very expensive for
the country. It took a very long time to decontaminate the area and other parts of Europe which was
very hard. This disaster was very impactful towards the mental and physical health of the residents,
the environment of Chernobyl and the areas around it, and helped change the safety regulations and

Moses Man Of The Mountain Analysis
Zora Neale Hurston in Moses, Man of the Mountain uses the biblical Exodus story to piece together
the black American s experience by explaining a broken and replicated ideology that has been adapted
by black people in America that not only facilitates the continuation of involuntary servitude but of
which has taken on a new form. Through the use of black language, black rituals and black culture, the
telling of this narration of oppression based on economic class, gender and ethnicity encompasses
factors allowing the enslaved system of racial divide to continue and sadly flourish today. For black
Americans, years of servitude of themselves, has led to a perpetuation of thus this same system among
each other. Until black people in America adopt a new unified system of operating that moves black
Americans away from acquiring space by means of systematic oppression, they will continue to
operate according to Massa s direction instead of walking in a life of true equality and freedom.
Involuntary slavery has never ceased to exist for black people in the United States of America.
Historical records indicate slavery was abolished in 1865, but in fact, contrary to this record, it
continued then and continues today. The enslavement ideology introduced on slave ships, engrained
by white America on the fields, in the cabins, by Jim on the bus, in the schools and on the job has
enveloped into a tragedy which no one has benefited from. Through Hurston s deeply personal and

The Apology
In this paper I will be discussing the four charges brought against Socrates in Plato s essay The
Apology# and why exactly each of these charges is completely fictitious. The four charges brought
against Socrates were that he argued the physical over the metaphysical, he argued the weaker claim
over the stronger claim, he went against the gods, and he was corrupting the youth (Singer, lecture, 9
15 11). Each of these four charges is false for varying reasons and I will be addressing each
explanation on why each charge is a complete sham, after discussing each charge. The first charge
made against Socrates was that he argued the physical over the metaphysical (Singer, lecture, 9 15 11).
This charge says that he believed in reason and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
53 55). The statement in their affidavit is that, ...he does not believe in the gods of the state. He has
other new divinities of his own (Plato, p. 53). The new divinities refers to Socrates strong belief in the
oracle at Delphi, whom he credits with acknowledging him as the wisest man (Plato, p. 52). This
accusation is extremely ridiculous as well. Socrates accusers, in particular Melatus, are completely
contradicting themselves as Socrates states, For he certainly does appear to me to contradict himself in
the indictment as much as if he said that Socrates is guilty of not believing in the gods, and yet of
believing them but this surely is a piece of nonsense (Plato, p.55). He also further refutes this
argument by glorifying the oracle as a God. This causes Socrates to fulfill the oracles prophesy by
admitting he knows nothing (Singer lecture, 9 15 11). When Socrates first heard the oracles prophesy
he questioned it at first because he did no believe he was the wisest man. But in the end he accepted it
by stating, ... he is a god, and cannot lie; that would be against his nature (Plato, p. 52). He goes on to
prove his devotion to the gods, in particular the oracle by refusing to stop fulfilling the oracles
prophesy. He states, ... obedient to the gods, and seek wisdom of anyone, whether citizen or stranger,
who appears to be wise. If he is not wise, then in support of the oracle I show him he is not wise

Muromachi Period Essay
The Muromachi style of Zen Buddhism has influence art and design ever since it s beginning in the
14th century. Although it was influenced by the Chinese styles at a parallel time, they both are still
influential and noticed in today s world.
For years Japanese Ink Painting continued to be consistent with a basis on nature, and simplicity. Was
the beginning of Minimalism in Japan? Was it intentional? The open composition of space and content
on paper is a key of today s design. The simplicity of monochromatic work is still appreciated in
almost every art form.
This is a contrast to the Renaissance that occurred during the same time period. There was never work

The monochromatic tones, and vivid, thick lines provide a lot of contrast. It uses washed tints for
more texture on the rock surfaces and shadowed areas, and leaves the paper clean where snow and
space are depicted. The planar view divides the foreground, while the jolt in the cliffs split the entire
upper half of the painting. This provides a stability and balance to the work.
As in most works of this time, he is expressing the simplicity and serenity of the landscape, which is a
parallel to the intended lifestyle of a monk. It is very particular to their culture in the Zen Buddhism
was an important theory of that time. Although, some aspects of the work might be claimed to have
been influenced by the Chinese practices of the same genre.
Ni Zan , and Yuan painter from China, created the Rongxi Studio painting, the most famous piece of
his time. The monochromatic ink painting was very personalized to Ni Zan s self. He was a very
carefree individual. He was very careless in his depiction of his homeland s natural scenery. Contrary
to styles of that time, he was not intending on satisfying any viewer. He solely wanted to paint, and the
brush, ink, and paper were free in his hands.
The Rongxi Studio painting was done in 1372, and is a hanging scroll. Its height is around 30 ,

Raymond Bamhart Definition Of Ethics Essay
What is Ethics
Ethical behavior, an action a human may find challenging to balance in one s life. One is encompassed
with daily decisions to choose right from wrong. For example, being late for work, one may decide to
speed to get to work on time, knowing if you re late for work again you could lose your job. So one
may decide to get to work on time, regardless of the consequences of possibly getting a ticket, causing
an accident and putting the lives of others in danger which could be one s worst nightmare. How does
one define ethics?
Raymond Baumhart, a sociologist gave insight on what Ethics means in his viewpoint. He had
mentioned that when feelings are put into the equation, it can have drawbacks of doing what is
morally correct. Also, putting Religion in an Ethical review can undermine the one s that do not
believe or have different beliefs. Religion will give some people inner peace, and it may give the
foundation to think morally, but religion and ethics are not equivalent. Furthermore, laws are put into
place to maintain some structure of what is acceptable in the eyes of the law, ... Show more content on

Having a foundation of supporting and morally correct role models will instill the values to act with
good intentions. Also, ethics to me is acts of kindness and compassion. I strongly believe to treat
others how you want to be treated. However, there will always be situations where one will have to
make the choice of choosing one decision over the other to protect what you think is morally correct at
the time. For example, a doctor might think he has a medical moral obligation whereas the family may
override the Doctor s moral dilemma and deal with the consequences. Some people may feel
intimidated by one s status, but if one is taught strong values at the beginning of life, deciding the right
thing to do, may just be second nature to

ABSTRACT
Due to the progressive development of human societies, their ecological and environmental influence
has been steadily increasing. The spatial expansion and higher population and housing density of cities
with its multiplier effect on land use and land cover change (LUCC) have been recognized as the most
important aspects of cities climate change which is triggered by the need for urban services provision
for the influx of human population. The shortages of housing in particular, and other urban services
provision is the fundamental cause and effects of development of illegal and informal settlements.
With analysis from empirical study in Eldoret town, the study discusses the need for urban land
regularization as a requisite to combat the driving forces for formation of informal settlements and its
impacts on cities climate. After presenting a series of concepts and definitions related to urban land
informality and illegality, standardization and tenure security from the literature, we then discuss the
data methods for the study. A detail of the research results focusing on the nature and the impacts of
informal and illegal settlement in both the city centre and the hinterlands using the UN Habitat Slum
indicators is presented. We conclude on implication cities climate change dynamics

Entrepreneurship assessment strategies for Economic Development: Developing an implementation
case for Kingdom of Saudi
1.Introduction
Entrepreneurship is an extremely important aspect of the modern economy. Entrepreneurship entails
improving business and the development of areas that are good for a business, people and the overall
economy of a country (Galindo, Méndez Picazo, 2013). Since the need for entrepreneurship has been
widely discussed and proven through research (Isenberg, 2010; Khan, 2016; Rahman, 2014), it is
important to focus on the frameworks that can positively influence the structure of the country s
economy.
The economy of Saudi Arabia is centered on oil hence entrepreneurship has also tended to be focused

The second set of literature sources was to provide information about Saudi Arabian entrepreneurship
status. Gaps in the Saudi Arabian entrepreneurship ecosystem were identified and proposed
improvements were recommended for implementation in Saudi Arabia.
4.Entrepreneurship ecosystem in Saudi Arabia
Development of an entrepreneurship ecosystem is the need of time. The idea is to generate a field
where the growth of entrepreneurs and their respective firms is triggered and positively enhanced by
support. Although this is a very complex area and requires support and collaboration of many business
firms and law bodies, but the implementation of such an environment can provide a way to keep the
chain of entrepreneurship well sustained in Saudi Arabia. The term entrepreneurship ecosystem is an
innovation in itself. It implies the use of collaborations and business ventures for achieving long term
business success and sustenance of the job market for the locals. Shaping the economy could perhaps
not be achieved in a better way than the development of a sound entrepreneurship network.
The definition of entrepreneurship given by Zimmerman (2007) (cited by Khan 2016 p. 68) is the
recognition or creation of an opportunity, coupled with action by an individual or group of
individuals... . This leads to sustainable business ventures (Ibid.). The six

  • 2. The Negative Effects Of Technology In Dave Eggers s The... Imagine a world where everyone s enigmatic thoughts were exposed to the public. Today, in the vast cyberspace, anonymity leads to audacious actions of cruel words posted by rather introverted individuals who would not dare to speak those words in a face to face encounter. Furthermore, they refuse to be held accountable for their actions and interfere with peace by creating chaos. The phrases secrets are lies , sharing is caring and privacy is theft (CITE?) are explicated in Dave Eggers, The Circle. Mae Holland follows these three mantras, justified by leaders of the Circle, to make life changing decisions. A world extracted of anonymity and instead, policed by an omniscient public is one cause to the negative effects of technology on one s private life. In The Circle, programs are developed in the Circle to implicate improved and advanced living conditions through the use of technology. Ironically, these programs such as Past Perfect , ChildTrack , SoulSearch and SeeChange introduce immoral issues. The plot of The Circle by Dave Eggers portrays the negative aspects of technology on private lives shown through character experiences in the novel and raises unethical issues about the programs created in the Circle, which correspond to the influence technology has in the real world. Mae Holland started her job at the Circle, known to be the most powerful company in the world. It combines someone s entire online footprint into a single online identity. The company ... He failed many, many times before he succeeded. The contributions he has made and continues to make to our society is incredible. Elon Musk is a perfect example of the fact that the greatest things take time and patience. This 21st century developer has founded and formed numerous things that play important roles in our everyday life. The South African born entrepreneur Elon Musk had a unique childhood. Elon however sees where he can improve and create his own way of doing things in a more efficient manner. I connect with Elon because we both disagree with how things have always been done. I do not like to do something just because it has always been done that way, and Elon Musk thinks the same way. I chose Elon Musk because I wanted to write about a person who made an impact on my current world today, and broke boundaries that no one ever thought could be broken. Elon Musk fit both those requirements, and had many intriguing accomplishments. His innovations and contributions continue to affect my life every day. • 5. Vorinostat Case Study disequilibrium between acetylation and deacetylation leading to apoptosis of the transformed neoplastic cells. In addition, these inhibitors have also been shown in vitro to induce redifferentiation of cancer cells by restoring the function of the sodium iodine symporter (NIS), and thus, they may restore the iodine uptake by the refractory TCs [30]. Vorinostat, a small molecule inhibitor of HDAC, has been studied in small phase I and II trials in patients with refractory DTCs; however, the results were clinically disappointing as the RR was 0, 56 % of patients had stable disease for only 6 months, and TG did not correlate with tumor response. However, post therapy decreases in TG levels were only noted in 17 % of cases [37]. But it is not clear if this redifferentiation of the tumor will improve the outcome for patients with refractory TCs. Lithium The effect of RAI with lithium carbonate was studied in 12 patients with metastatic DTC. Despite an increased uptake of RAI in seven patients, no beneficial effect of RAI with lithium was observed on the clinical course as assessed by TG measurements and radiographically [38]. Thalidomide Thalidomide and its derivative lenalidomide were studied in progressive MTC and DTC but without significant effect [39]. Bortezomib It (proteasome inhibitor) has been shown to have an effect on the growth in ATC cell lines alone and in combination with other drugs [40]. Combretastatin A4 phosphate (CA4P) It is a tubulin binding compound. It is a vascular disrupting agent, resulting in reduced central blood flow to the tumor. • 6. Theme Of Blood Wedding Blood wedding is a play written by the Spanish dramatist Federico Garcia Lorca. This play is based on true events that has occurred in 1982, in the town of Nijar. One of the main themes in this play is death and violence. The symbol of blood is used mainly to bring out these two themes. The title of the play is very apt and gives us a glimpse into the story. This could have two meanings, one being the death of the bridegroom after the wedding and the other meaning could be the actual blood and violent relationship the bride and Leonardo had. Blood is used in this text to symbolize fate, and death, and exposed how for certain characters within the story, their ultimate destiny would be death. Blood is a symbol for both life and death, passion, love, and heritage. Leonardo is a hot blooded person, who does not think before acting. Leonardo is also quick tempered, but he is a passionate lover, that is full of life and vigor. The blood was flowing stronger than water This is showing that blood is stronger than water and how Leonardo s love and passion is for the blood of the Bride is stronger than his wife s and children s, water . This point is relevant as the characters are personalized with good blood and bad blood. Making it seem like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 7. Role Of Gods In The Odyssey The Odyssey details Odysseus arduous return to his homeland. Ten years have passed since the end of the Trojan war and Odysseus, the most cursed man alive , has been missing and presumed dead by many. (10.79). Throughout the novel, gods play a significant role in the fate of Odysseus and other characters. The extent of the gods role though is not unqualified, contrary to Telemachus suggestion that, Zeus is to blame./He deals to each and every/ laborer on this earth whatever doom he pleases (1.401 403). While Zeus does have this power, his description of how humans meet their fate is more accurately depicted throughout the novel. As he aptly points out, from us alone, the say, come all their miseries, yes,/ but they themselves, with their own reckless ways,/ compound their pain beyond their proper share (1.38 52). While the gods do doom certain mortals, many of these mortals exacerbate their ill fate by making rash decisions and ignoring the gods warnings. The gods are also not always disrupting mortals lives; they often aid mortals in need. In fact, mortals who effectively court the favor of the gods often benefit greatly. While the gods powers are unquestionable, no one god s power is insurmountable. Gods can be outsmarted and their wrath escaped. The Odyssey, in congruence with Zeus statement, ultimately, portrays human freedom as existent, but limited. While mortals do not unjustly complain about their fates, they fail to acknowledge that they are also responsible for their ill fate, as mortals themselves, possess a sizable degree of control. There is little doubt that Odysseus and his crew are unlucky, but had it not been for their brash decisions they would have reached Ithaca much sooner. After Odysseus cunningly escapes the Cyclops, Polyphemos, his pride gets the best of him, as taunts the Polyphemos proclaiming, if any man on the face of the earth should ask you/ who blinded you, shamed you so say Odysseus/ raider of cities, he gouged out your eye (9.559 561). Odysseus arrogance furthers his misfortune, since Polyphemos is Poseidon s son. Polyphemos proceeds to ask his father to never allow Odysseus to return and if Odysseus returns home that it be well over due and without his crew; ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Self Reliance And Self-Reliance In Into The Wild By Jon... Trust thyself: Every heart vibrates to that iron string (Emerson). When you read that quote many would think it is about trusting their first instincts. The way I read it though is trust in your own decisions even if they go off the normal beaten path because everyone has their own path they are destined to travel on. This theory of self reliance is shown in Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer and Self Reliance by Ralph Waldo Emerson since they both display it in following their passion in self reliance. In Into The Wild Jon Krakauer described the life of a non conformist that traveled across North America; his name was Chris McCandless. McCandless believed in passion and how it was a must since it gave purpose and happiness to a person. One of these examples is when McCandless got rid of his whole past and started to recreate the future. He did this by giving $25,000 to charity, abandoning his car, and burning all the cash in his wallet (Krakauer). This showed that Chris was willing to drop everything to follow his dream and that his passion drove him in making his decisions. Chris also didn t tell his family where he was going which shows that he left his family behind also. I just don t understand why he had to take those kind of chances, ... I just don t understand at all (Krakauer 132). This quote was Chris s mom talking about the chances he took whether it be about going to Alaska or just leaving all together. • 9. Cat Breeds And The Sphynx Think of strange and unusual cat breeds and the Sphynx is bound to come to mind even if you don t know the breed s name! The Sphynx is often referred to as the hairless cat. Remember Mr. Bigglesworth, Dr. Evil s cat in the Austin Powers movies? The Sphynx is not a truly hairless cat, although it appears to be. The Sphynx s skin is often covered by a very soft peach fuzz. These cats also are known for their wedge shaped heads and curious natures. Their skin is warm and soft to the touch, feeling like a very fine leather. The Sphynx may or may not have whiskers. Because they do not have coats to keep them warm, Sphynx cats tend to be very affectionate, often snuggling up to other animals and people. If you get one of these cats, prepare to make room under the covers at night, as it will probably want to curl up next to you. Its lack of a coat means no shedding and no need for brushing. However, the Sphynx still requires plenty of loving care and maintenance. Body oils tend to accumulate on their skin, while other cats absorb them in their coats. This means that the Sphynx requires regular bathing. These cats also should have limited exposure to sunlight, as they can develop a sunburn similar to that of a human. They also should not be exposed to cold temperatures because of their lack of a coat for protection. In short, the Sphynx is not an outdoor cat. A common fallacy about the Sphynx is that is hypoallergenic because of its lack of a coat. It is important to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Authority In The Jungle Book To form an ideal sovereign, another precondition must be attained: all the members in a society need to obey the law of the nature and to seek peace, and follow it (Hobbes 92). If not, the existence of a sovereign will not bring any extra good to a society: the state of war (Hobbes 88) will always exist, no matter whether there is or is not a common power. In the second part of The Jungle Books, Mowgli decides to let in the jungle to devastate the human village simply to penalize those who have hurt him. At that moment, he never thinks rationally about whether such a behavior is appropriate: to exclude all the villagers, most of them innocent (maybe just silly ), out of their home, just because of several persons malevolence and ... Also, he will be afraid that Kaa will change his mind and stop helping: ... for the believed that Kaa had turned tail at the last minute. (Kipling 40) If there is a sovereign, they can cooperate with each other better and carry out their goals easily. However, without those many preconditions, it is hard to ensure that a sovereign will always work ideally. • 11. Changes That Need to Be Implemented in the Work Situation... What changes in the work situation might account for the increase in productivity and the decrease in controllable rejects? The changes in the work situation that increased productivity were accountability, self inspection, and self worth. First, accountability for each employee was achieved by making that individual responsible for the work that they were doing. Second, the additional training gave each person additional understanding of how the steps worked together and if they did something wrong on a previous step, it would make it more difficult for them to continue to produce the hotplate. Before this change, the worker did not know what happened to the hotplate or even if it actually made it to the customer. Third, the controllable rejects likely dropped because each employee could see the problems that were a result of their own work and each employee would continue to learn how to do the job better on their own. This increase in job satisfaction leads to a faster pace and a more enjoyable work experience, further decreasing bad parts coming out. 2. What might account for the drop in absenteeism and the increase in morale? The corresponding drop in absenteeism and increase in morale is likely due to the increase in job satisfaction for each individual employee. Having ownership of a product, with the employee stating I produced this , gives the individual knowledge that their whole work is reaching the end user. There is also a negative psychological reaction ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. The US Economy The United States is currently experiencing a slow recovery from the recession of 2008 09. The current unemployment rate is 7.7%, which is the lowest level since December of 2008 (BLS, 2012). However, this rate is believed to higher than the rate that would occur if the economy was operating at peak efficiency, and it is also believed that there are structural issues still underpinning this performance. For example, the number of Americans who have exited the work force as the result of prolonged unemployment is believed to be higher than usual. In addition, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO, 2012) notes that long term unemployment of greater than 26 weeks is at a much higher rate than normal, which will have adverse long run effects on the economy, since workers with long term unemployment often find their career paths derailed. The current rate of GDP growth, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis, is 2.7% (for Q3), and it was 1.3% in Q2 of this year. This rate reflects relatively slow growth, with challenges remaining in the domestic market and with sluggishness in Europe suppressing exports to that region. The rate of GDP growth is predicted to slow to a decline of 0.5% between Q4 2012 and Q4 2013, the US re entering recession, according to the Congressional Budget Office s projections. These projections are based on the provisions of the Budget Control Act being enacted, though any observers are doubtful that this will occur. Inflation, the third major ... A Speech On Bombay Poona Road After he finished, he held me in his arms, his heavy lips like a hippopotamus arrested my lips, took me to his bar room and opened a scotch, thereafter he started playing around with dirty jokes, poked at me with his utterly foolish orgies, spin my nipples, glasses after glasses continued making the rounds, I must appreciate he was a connoisseur of hard liquor, despite getting drunk heavily, he had the courage to walk straight and not a word bubbled from his mouth. It was well past 10:30 P.M, Bombay after a feverish day prepared to go for a sleep midst of cool breeze. Kanye West s most famous controversy first started in 2009 at the annual MTV Video Music Awards (the VMAs). Taylor Swift had just received the award for Best Female Video, and while she was accepting her award, West interrupted claiming that Beyonce Knowles deserved the award. This resulted in a lot of controversy and backlash towards West including slurs, threats of violence and even threats of lynching. Kanye West justified his actions in terms of the racial politics present in awards shows, the music industry, and the mass media more generally (Cullen). Ibuprofen Household Chemistry Project Household Chemistry Project Basic Details: Name: Ibuprofen Drawing of Molecular Structure: Ionic or Covalent: Covalent Ibuprofen Info: Ibuprofen (C13H18O2) has the systematic name 2 (4 isobutylphenyl) propanoic acid. This makes it an organic compound. Its melting point is melting point 74 77° C. It is a stable white crystalline powder, slightly soluble in water and very soluble in ethanol. Its formula is also written (CH3)2CHCH2C6H4CH(CH3) COOH, which is basically the chemical structure of ibuprofen. Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking the production of prostaglandins, substances that the body releases in response to illness and injury. Prostaglandins cause swelling and pain, or inflammation. They can cause fevers because they are released to the brain. Ibuprofen s painkilling effects become resonant soon after taking the drug. Ibuprofen is available as gels, sprays, tablets or mousses, and it is used to relieve a variety of symptoms which include: inflammation, swelling, pain, toothache, backache, arthritis, headache, minor injuries, and fever. The usual adult dose for pain is 200 mg to 400 mg by mouth, every 4 to 6 hours, or 400 to 800 mg IV every 6 hours as needed. The maximum dose in one day is 3,200 mg. Children s doses are lower than those for adults. The dose will depend on the weight and age of the child, and the severity of the fever or other symptoms. Even though ibuprofen helps people with many conditions, it also has some risks involved. Ibuprofen should be used with caution for people with asthma, kidney problems, liver problems, mild heart failure, hypertension, high blood pressure, angina, and stroke. This list is just a list of a few of the conditions which may have a negative reaction to the body. All people should consult a qualified pharmacist or a doctor if they are unsure. Furthermore, Ibuprofen is known for causing stomach pain, nausea and vomiting, and other gastrointestinal symptoms. These side effects are caused by the same mechanism as the beneficial effects. The same prostaglandins that cause pain, fever, and inflammation (which are healed by ibuprofen) also decrease stomach acid and increase stomach mucus secretion. Both of ... Guaranteed Paid On The United States Essay Mariah Inghram ENGL 3060 J Rough Draft Katherine Berta November 22, 2016 Guaranteed Paid Maternal Leave in the United States Today there are two countries in the world that do not currently guarantee paid maternity leave for employed new mothers and/or expecting mothers, those countries are the United States and Papua New Guinea, according to the International Labour Organization, an United Nations agency, which recommends a minimum 18 week maternity leave (Rubin 2016, p.1). In recent years, the controversial issue of guaranteed maternal leave has been a prominent topic of debate amongst political activists and elites, particularly in the United States, where reform is a feasible option but has yet to be achieved. It is this absence of policy that serves to provide guaranteed maternal for all working mothers that has been linked to significant health related issues; these adverse effects not only impacts those mothers, but their children as well. Although paid maternal leave remains a controversial matter, policy reform that implements such leave is not only a feasible option in the United States, both economically and politically, it is an ethical necessity in order to facilitate the well being of American women. Thus, in order to work toward ethical political/governmental policy that supports the well being of women in the United States workforce, it is crucial that guaranteed paid maternal policy is implemented. To begin with, Lange helped perceive the poor living conditions of the 1900 s through her photo of the migrant mother and three children. For instance, Lange with her photo of the migrant mother helped raise awareness, for the federal government gave the pea pickers camp, where the migrant mother had been distinguished, twenty thousand pounds of food . In particular, it was assumed that the market is in the state of equilibrium (i.e. all investors have finished to complete their portfolios), operational and transaction costs (payment of intermediaries services, staff, information services, taxes, etc.) are insignificant, the investor has the ability to receive and grant loans on the same risk free rate, and so on. Nevertheless, the idea that the market portfolio is probably close to an effective portfolio, initiated a passive portfolio management. This strategy means that when the investor prepares the portfolio, determining the expected return, he is focused entirely on the market portfolio and he doesn t carry on to make any changes in the composition of the portfolio after its formation. Hence is the name. The philosophy of passive management is to minimize the costs of market research and the formation of the portfolio if there is sufficient guarantee of obtaining a stable high yield. In fact, an investor, preparing the portfolio, is focused on some reference portfolio (benchmark portfolio), i.e. portfolio with standard yield in comparison with the actual yield of the portfolio manager. This is not necessarily to consider as a reference only the market portfolio. There are dozens of different investment funds, called index funds, which focus on the benchmark portfolio, consisting of securities, selected for a particular trait (eg: a part of any index). They might want to convey a message or simply entertain their reader. In the three Abrahamic texts that we read; Genesis, Matthew, and the Quran, some would argue that the author s purpose was to create a blueprint for how humans should live their lives; a rather daunting and consequential task. The main problem is written text, and especially text that was written in 1,400 BC, and based off of ideals and traditions that date back even further, in the Bibles case, is it s going to seem outdated and may often be misread or misrepresented. A simple sentence even in modern times can be twisted and bent to mean just about anything. Ask our politicians. Now think about what could happen to the meaning and form of ancient text after being rewritten and translated so numerous times. Human interpretation is key to understanding how misrepresentation has occurred in these texts. Every person ever to be born into this world is completely different. That means their thoughts, their values, their morals, and just about everything having to do with them is unique. This being said, it is no wonder that when two people from opposite sides of the world read an ambiguous text, of which, it s sole purpose is to govern how we live our lives, there might be some disagreement. This is why context is so important. If the reader happened to be, say, a Russian person living in a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Through the use of black language, black rituals and black culture, the telling of this narration of oppression based on economic class, gender and ethnicity encompasses factors allowing the enslaved system of racial divide to continue and sadly flourish today. For black Americans, years of servitude of themselves, has led to a perpetuation of thus this same system among each other. The new divinities refers to Socrates strong belief in the oracle at Delphi, whom he credits with acknowledging him as the wisest man (Plato, p. 52). This accusation is extremely ridiculous as well. Socrates accusers, in particular Melatus, are completely contradicting themselves as Socrates states, For he certainly does appear to me to contradict himself in the indictment as much as if he said that Socrates is guilty of not believing in the gods, and yet of believing them but this surely is a piece of nonsense (Plato, p.55).
