The Helicopter Pilot Fly Over New York City
Commander Brayzack asked the helicopter pilot to fly over New York City several times before
landing on the deck of the U.S.S. Carl Vinson; he had wanted to see the devastation firsthand.
Skyscrapers burned uncontrollably. The flames shooting out from their windows like a blast furnace.
Thick black and billowing smoke puffed its way skyward from the structures like the coal smoke from
an old steam locomotive. Piles of rubble clogged up the roadways making escape from the island
impossible. The chopper pilot weaved his way into the streets. Brayzack watched the myriad of
infected as they staggered their way aimlessly through the ruins. Their enervated demeanor reminding
him of a robot vacuum he had back at home. When turned on it would just head in one direction until
it ran into an obstacle, then aimlessly change to a new direction and go that way until it hit another
obstacle, as if searching for something that could never be found. As the commander looked upon the
legions of the undead he began thinking about his wife Laura, and if the bacteria had made its way to
Middleport yet. He then thought of his kids, Randy and Kyle just teenagers, and his little girl Sarah
only six. The thought of them becoming one of these things was so unbearable he could barely keep
himself from shedding a tear in front of the pilot. He wished the thoughts out his mind. Wanting to
forget such an inconceivable notion had ever been there in the first place. He

Queen Guinevere
Thomas Malory and Sara Teasdale emphasize distinct themes in their re tellings of the legend of
Guinevere. Women play a huge role in the Arthurian legends and the most influential woman is Queen
Guinevere. The legend of Queen Guinevere evolves through time with the evolution of women in
society. While gaining more power in society, women are portrayed as more independent and more
intelligent, therefore, the various portrayals of Queen Guinevere are written to respect the time period
and the role of women during the era.
During the 1600 s, women were viewed as inferior to men and were treated unequally. Early texts
such as Le Morte D Arthur, written by Thomas Malory, portray Queen Guinevere as a weak woman
and a selfish adulterous. This text ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sara Teasdale s poem Guenevere is an example of a text that shows remorse for Queen Guinevere,
rather than depicting her as just an unfaithful wife and a treacherous queen. In this text, Queen
Guinevere is seen as a strong political figure who cares about the respect of her people and her king.
Her love for Sir Lancelot takes away her crown and her respect from others, her affair has unqueened
[her] forevermore and she soon realizes that her love for Lancelot grows bitter that was once so sweet
(Teasdale 44, 65). The poem illustrates the doubt in her decision to love Lancelot and commit adultery
despite how much she wants to be with him. This depiction is not seen in early text which means that
the modern world has influenced the writer to reveal the powerful political figure in Queen Guinevere.
This difference in the text means that while society has grown to accept women, the legend has
transformed into a text that favors women. The modern society has also learned to understand the
mind of a woman in power and the decisions she makes for herself. She is self conscious about the
decision to pursue a relationship with Sir Lancelot, and in the end her decision causes the downfall of
Camelot and her king. In the poem, Guinevere states I was a queen, and I have lost my crown; A wife,
and I have broken all my vows . . . There is no other havoc left to do (Teasdale 1 4). Teasdale wants

Case Study Of Roug Rough Cut Capacity Planning
1. INTRODUCTION
Consumer demand for a product can be fulfilled entirely in the master production schedule if
supported by production capacity according to production requirements. Master production schedule
can be easily realized if consumer demand is constant, but in fact companies often experience
fluctuations in the demand of consumers who tend to be unstable. Based on research Liske F. (2012)
that capacity planning is done well can meet the demand of existing customers as well as be able to
increase the company s revenue. Based on research Ria Amalia (2012) that consumer demand can be
met by adding machines at work center that is experiencing a shortage of capacity.
PT. XYZ is a plastics company in Indonesia, are often unable to meet consumer demand for
polyethylene plastic products. This resulted in the company can not make a profit in accordance with
what is expected, and also difficult to foster consumer confidence. ... Show more content on

Impact Of Gdp On Consumer Spending
What is the impact on GDP if consumer spending increases? Would the answer be different if the
consumer spending was directed toward foreign goods?
The cash related estimation of all the finished stock and organizations conveyed within a country s

private and open usage, government costs, ventures and admissions less imports that happen within a

a nation s economy , G is the entire of government spending , I is the entire of all the country s

total imports. (NX = Exports Imports), along these lines, an addition in customer spending would

Differences Between The Northern Colonies And Southern...
Life in the North American colonies was great at one point. At first we liked having protection and
assistance from the British. After a while, we Patriots yearned for more freedom. The British had too
many rules and controlled a lot of aspects of our lives, including the trading of goods. To add, even
though we were across the pond, they were telling us where to live. Us Patriots were forced to provide
housing to the British soldiers. Although we appreciated the help, we did not want them taking over
our new found land. The British provided sources of entertainment and ways to see information like
newspapers and other forms of entertainment, but charged us a hefty amount. Many of us wanted to
complain but we were not allowed to have a seat on the British Parliament. Without this, we have no
way of communicating our problems. How could the British tax us without having someone to
represent us? We were being taxed without representation and we were tired of it! The British had
taken off all the taxes except tea, and that was not enough. With no fair ruling, we took matters into
our own hands and dumped the tea into the Boston Harbor. Things were different in Southern colonies
compared to the Northern colonies. The reason for settlement in the North was to have freedom of
religion. In the South, people wanted financial gain stemming from agriculture. Though they are
known for cotton, tobacco was the main staple crop of the South. Although the North colonies also

Elderly Population In The 1980 s
Over the decade of the 1980 s, the largest percent increases in elderly population (65 years and over)
were mostly in the West, particularly the Mountain States, and in the South, especially the South
Atlantic States of Florida, South Carolina, and Delaware (Census Bureau, 2014).
The Census Bureau projects (in Series A) that in 2020, over half (55 percent) of the nation s 53 million
elderly will live in the same nine States with the most elderly in 1993, plus North Carolina. California
still would have the nation s largest elderly population, with 6.6 million persons 65 years and over, a
100 percent increase from 1993 (figure 5 4). Florida would have the second highest elderly population
with 5.0 million, a 96 percent increase from 1993.

Big Data And The Data
Introduction The term big data came into the picture to refer the big volumes of information s both the
companies and governments are storing. The data may be where we live, where we go, what we buy
and what we say etc. all will be recorded and stored forever. More than 90% of data is generated in the
past 2 years only and this volume is increasing day by day and doubling for every two years. In this
world, the organizations are using the data generated by us and no one knows what they are doing
with the collected data. Big data is defined as a lot of structured and unstructured data from different
sources, such as E commerce websites, online transactions, social networks, medical records, internet
search indexes, banking and financial services, scientific searches, weblogs, and document searches
and so on. Big data also can be described by four V s: Volume, Velocity, Variety and finally Value.
Volume: The term big data itself tells it is related to size. Big data requires processing of high volumes
of unstructured data such as data from twitter, network traffic etc. The volume of data varies from one
organization to other. Velocity: The term velocity refers to how fast the data is generated and
processed to meet the demands and the challenges in the path of growth and development. Reacting
quickly enough to deal with data velocity is a challenge for most organizations. Variety: Data today
comes in various formats, types, structured, unstructured. For example, the data may

Saussure s System For Evaluating Linguistics Essay
In Course in General Linguistics , Saussure does two things to develop his system for evaluating
linguistics: he chooses language as his linguistic object and he only incorporates factors into his model
that can be said to be true of all languages over all time. The net result is a very high level and flexible
classification structure, which is more intent on making a developmental framework for evaluating
linguistics than necessarily providing tremendous insight into it s more concrete aspects: rudiments
like structure, meaning, morphology, syntax, or phonology.
Others, including Levi Strauss in Structural Anthropology , have used
Saussure s methodology to develop their own models for study in different aspects of human society.
But ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But I feel he still needed to explicitly say it: that despite all the differences between languages, I have
identified these invariants to be true over all time, and I believe this is because of certain specific
commonalities between all humans, particularly the human desire to create and maintain an effective
and convenient system for communicating ideas with one another. Levi Strauss additional step
provides a sense of completeness to the process; that is to say that the last step provides the why and
what while Saussure s method provides the how .
Incorporating the Levi Strauss step gives us a new line of thought to ponder: engineering and design.
Going through the steps: Structural Anthropology first hypothesizes that myths exist to provide people
with anecdotes to help explain the unanswerable questions of their society such as life versus death or
love, etc. Then Levi
Strauss applies Saussure s method, designating a mythological object, in this case the myth itself, and
then determining a set of invariants true to all myths. The most interesting of these invariants is the
use of categories to deconstruct the events of a story into specific event types, which are common
across all myths. And finally, Levi Strauss uses his myth decomposition to draw conclusions about the
myth s moral and, by extension, the society that uses this myth.

Catholics Should Go To Mass Research Paper
What s one of the main actions of a religious person, regardless of either being Catholic, Protestant,
Jewish, or Baptist? Going to church, of course! However, there are some Catholics that don t attend
Holy Mass, which is the Catholic s version of church . Many Catholics and Christians, over the years,
have gradually declined to attend every Sunday Mass. Priests and clergy, as well as the Catholic
Church Herself, have tried to institute the importance of attending Mass every Sunday. If only all of
the unfaithful, Christians, and Catholics knew the value and importance of our obligatory Sunday
Mass, surely then they would live up to the obligation. Every Catholic, devout or obscure, should be
attending Mass every Sunday in order to follow God s law, to give thanks for God s goodness, and to
receive God s graces. For those who don t attend the Holy Liturgy, it s important to acknowledge
where and how God commands us to attend every Sunday. In the Book of Exodus, after the release of
the Israelites slavery in Egypt, Moses presented the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai to the
Israelites. One of the commandments, the Third Commandment, states Remember to keep Holy the
Sabbath Day. What does this mean exactly? It specifically means that all Catholics should be attending

Sacrament of the Eucharist, every person receives atonement for our sins, such as Purgatory time

Gertrude was a saint that received visions from Jesus. In one of the visions, He revealed to St.
Gertrude that for every Mass heard with devotion, He sends a saint to comfort each person at the hour
of our death. If that isn t an extraordinary grace in itself, then what

Canada s Trade Barriers
Canada is comprised of ten provinces and three territories, a small number that can conceivably focus
on redefining internal barriers for the convenience of the entire country. The Globe and Mail article
Canada s new free trade agreement? How about a deal between provinces by Perrin Beatty refers to
trade that is occurring inside of Canada in relation to the internal barriers of trade. As a country,
Canada s first priority when it comes to trade is not necessarily trading issues between provinces, but
instead trading between other countries. Canada should first and foremost be correcting barriers for
trade between all of its borders before continuing to create agreements that make trading easier for
only some provinces.
When the Agreement ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Agreement on Internal Trade is not as helpful as one would think to reduce interprovincial
barriers. Issues arise when there is an inability to assimilate what is needed to reduce barriers. It has
been so inconvenient that provinces in Canada have had to team together to make their own
agreements. The agreement between Ontario and Quebec is a good example of why an agreement
among provinces is not impossible. They have made it possible to focus on agriculture between the
two of them, without making large changes to packaging or regulations. If Ontario and Quebec can
work around the rules of the Agreement of Internal Trade then how would it be so difficult to involve
the entire county? Though it will be difficult to synchronize an entire country it would be worth it for
the economical advantages, along with showing other nations that Canada is not the mouse that
everyone thinks. The other benefit of true interprovincial trade is breaking down the walls formed
through the country. Though I am not naïve in thinking that breaking down trade barriers will fix the
nation, I do think that it is the first step in making a unified country again. Canada would be wise to
right the wrongs that the Agreement of Internal Trade has brought up and follow a strong leadership in
correcting the barriers that it has put in

The Degenerate Art Movement
I m going to be explaining 3 glass stores that I ve grow up with; I have many experiences with all of
the stores, some I visit still while some have been just a few visits left for the past. They all are
targeting the same consumers just all on different levels of the same market segment. All of the shops
target people who buy glass whether they be glass pipes, glass marbles, glass sculptures, as well
custom metal jewelry in some. The Degenerate art movement has recently taken major interest from
many; recently a huge spike in new collectors, artists, as well many new galleries and stores. The
Degenerate Art Movement I am talking about is basically the glass blowers out there who are going
against the social norms. They are artists that are taking a medium used for art, and a medium that has
been used to make pipes and bongs and fuse the 2 ideas of art and pipes or water pipes into one. They
are using glass pipes as the way to portray their talent. To some they laugh at the fact, but what they
don t know is that there are water pipes out there selling for anywhere from $1,000 all the way up to
$30,000. To some they are recognized as modern day living Picasso s, and others just dirty hippies
making money off a drug culture. These artists don t just make pipes though; they make things such as
glass marbles where beautiful images and mind bending ideas are encased for one to view and enjoy
forever. They make amazing things like cups and plates to eat off of. I ve seen some

The Effects Of Myelin And Oligodendrocyte Dysfunctions
Abstract
Myelin and oligodendrocyte dysfunctions have been consistently found in patients with schizophrenia.
The effect of antipsychotics on myelin disturbances is unknown. The present study examined the
effects of quetiapine on oligodendrocyte regeneration and myelin repair in a demyelination animal
model.
C57BL/6 mice were fed with cuprizone (0.2% w/w) for 12 weeks to induce chronic demyelination and
oligodendrocyte degeneration, after which cuprizone was withdrawn to allow recovery. Quetiapine (10
mg/kg/day) or vehicle (water) was administrated orally to mice for 0, 2, 3, or 4 weeks after cuprizone
withdrawal. Locomotor activity and Y maze tests were used to evaluate behavioral changes in the
mice. Immunohistochemical staining was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gene expression analysis has found dysregulation of OL/myelin related genes in schizophrenia
patients (Hakak et al., 2001). Neuropathology and neuroimaging studies have also found myelin
abnormalities and OL degeneration, particularly in the frontal lobe, temporal lobe, and corpus
callosum (CC) in schizophrenic patients (McDonald et al., 2005; Schlosser et al., 2007). OL survival,
restoration and myelin repair are important compensatory mechanisms that maintain normal brain
function (Franklin and Ffrench Constant, 2008) and it is important to understand the role of OL
dysfunction in schizophrenia and the effects of treatment.
Atypical antipsychotics (APDs) are the first line treatment for schizophrenia. But their mechanisms of
action are not well understood. Studies have found that the APD quetiapine prevented the cortical OL
demise resulting from cuprizone (CPZ) treatment in mice (Zhang et al., 2008) and facilitated OL
lineage development in vitro (Zhang et al., 2008). In addition, neuroimaging studies showed that APD
treatment resulted in increased myelination in patients with schizophrenia (Bartzokis et al., 2009).
These studies suggest that APDs may exert their therapeutic effects by enhancing OL function and
myelin integrity. The gap between in vitro and human neuroimaging studies emphasizes the
importance of the development of an animal model to study the link between molecular and cellular
changes and the pathological and behavioral outcomes after APD treatment.

Tim Donaghy Case Summary
Introduction Edwin J. Delattre describes in Some Reflections on Success and failure in Competitive
Athletics that competitive athletics require a touchstone relationship of competitors i.e. that
competitors have a moral and logical obligation to not engage in cheating. Competitive sports leagues
and organizations have taken several measures to achieve competitive balance or fairness in regards to
the spirit of competition. Competitive leagues have implemented the draft process to ensure that teams
with the worst records are able to acquire top draft pick players to help improve losing teams, and

Harper Lee s To Kill a Mockingbird and Truman Capote s A...
Harper Lee and Truman Capote, two of the greatest 20th century authors, were once prodigious best
friends. And best friends share everything; their thoughts, their dreams, but most importantly, their
ideas. So could it be possible that Capote, a prolific writer, could have played a role in writing Lee s
esteemed novel, To Kill a Mockingbird? Doubtful. Through comparisons of Lee s only work to Capote
s A Christmas Memory it can be seen that despite similarities, these friends works differ too greatly in
the way they set the tone, emphasize their themes, and utilize imagery for them to have worked
together on her novel.
The first area, where Capote and Lee vary, is their use of style to create tone. Due to two extremely

is no direct interpretation from the narrator leaving readers with only the characters dialogue to
ponder. The effect is a speechless tone. While one author interacts with the text as the author, setting
up each scene and action, the other only interacts as a character and this can be directly attributed to
which tense they write. So despite similar overlying tones and point of views, Capote and Lee diverge
immediately in style.
As most authors do, both Lee and Capote wound similar themes and subthemes throughout their
pieces, yet use completely different techniques to isolate these themes. In To Kill a Mockingbird, the
theme is stated multiple times, interpreted by every character, and then confirmed by the narrator.
Atticus tells Scout You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of

between, the idea of prejudging a person is toiled with in every struggle and outburst. The theme, first
introduced in a simple conflict, is reemphasized at the very end, affirming the importance of never

Suspense In The Tell-Tale Heart By Edgar Allan Poe
My intrest of this story, was raised by the suspense and the tension throughout the story, not to

could kill another person with such malice and for seemingly no reason. The part where the unnamed
character cuts up the old man s body and then shoves him under the floorboards, produced images in
my head that made it very hard for me to sleep that night! I think the unnamed character is a sociopath
because he killed the old man because of his eye. He even goes so far as to say in the ... Show more

The unnamed character who confesses to murder right since the beginning, it gets the audience to
wonder why he is mad, it is a great hook to get people interested. The description of the ugly eye,
waiting in the dark, the horror of the old man, the audacity of placing the police right above the dead
body, the beating heart, the ringing in his ear and the gushing confession are all so suspenseful, and
intense. Another reason that it is still widely read today is that it is relatively short and easy to
understand. People normally get tired of books with too many hard words, so they put it down but in
this story there aren t as many hard words and it The last reason is that it is still widely read today, is
because people now a days love that adrenaline rush, they read and watch horror/suspense movies just
to scare themselves, it gives them goosebumps, chills etc. The horror/suspense genre has become more
popular in the recent years. In the olden days there weren t as many horror movies released compared

The Military And Its Structure, Order And Discipline Of...
The military is known for its structure, order and discipline of the Servicemen and Servicewoman, but
mostly for its great leadership throughout the ranks. The military is structured by the ranking system.
In the Navy, the Service member s level of authority and responsibilities is based on his or her rate.
There are the entry level rates Seaman Recruit, Seaman Apprentice and Seaman; Petty Officer Third
Class, Petty Officer Second Class and Petty Officer First Class. Lastly, there are the senior level rates
Chief Petty Officer, Senior Chief Petty Officer and Master Chief Petty Officer.
Sailors in the rates Seaman Recruit (SR), Seaman Apprentice (SA) and Seaman (SN) are in the pay
grades Enlisted 1 through Enlisted 3 (E 1 through E 3). Sailors in these rates, or paygrades, are not
typically placed in leadership roles. A few expectations of Sailors in these rates are for them to employ
basic knowledge and skills on a daily basis and to progress into productive leaders in today s Navy.
They are also expected to obey all orders of personnel appointed over them. However, one of the
greatest expectations of Sailors in these ranks, is for them to develop and exhibit decent followership
skills.
Due to the competiveness and the number of vacant spots, the requirement for a Sailor to advance to
the rates of Petty Officer Third Class (PO3), Petty Officer Second Class (PO2) and Petty Officer First
Class (PO1) or pay grade Enlisted 4 through Enlisted 6 (E 4 through E 6), they

Persuasive Speech On Eating Healthy
Do you know what it means to be healthy? What was the last thing YOU ate? Do you realize that
these things are bad for you? I get it eating healthy can be a problem for some people even though you
may just be that person that chooses not to eat healthy it can still be a struggle. Everyone and their
family enjoy eating things such as (Cakes,Pies,Ice Cream,Cookies, etc.) so why would you choose to
eat healthy foods over that? And in this essay I will be explaining many different reasons as to why
many people need to cut down on the junky foods and to start eating healthy.
Healthy eating starts off with yourself because if you continue to drive yourself into eating these
unhealthy foods it can make a turn for the worse. Healthy foods ... Show more content on

Obesity occurs over time when you eat more calories than you use. The balance between your genetic
makeup, overeating, eating high fat foods, and not being physically active. Being obese increases your
risk of diabetes, heart disease, stroke, arthritis, and some cancers. If you are obese, losing even 5 to 10
percent of your weight can delay or prevent some of these diseases. For example, that means losing 10
to 20 pounds if you weigh 200 pounds. All of this can come from eating unhealthy foods.
Anyone who struggles with food and eating can fall into habits that may lead to what professionals
call disordered eating. Disordered eating can take many forms, ranging from unhealthy eating habits
that keep you from losing weight. Healthy functioning organs require adequate nutrition, and healthy
hair follicles are no exception. Starvation diets that lead to severe protein energy malnutrition can
cause brittle hair or worse, hair loss. Studies show diets that are low in protein, essential fatty acids,
and nutrients such as Vitamin C, zinc and iron are associated with hair loss, thinning, and loss of
pigmentation. (Quoted by Kristin Kilpatrick) Foods that are high in simple carbohydrates cause blood
sugar to spike, which is followed by a blood sugar drop soon after. Often called a sugar crash, this is
the reason a high carbohydrate, sugary breakfast or afternoon snack can leave you in an energy slump
a few hours later. To help stabilize blood sugar

Bitcoin Is A Form Of Confederal Currency
Since the beginning of time every country or civilization has used a form of currency for trade. Mostly
anything could be made into currency; weather it be a rock, printed paper or something virtual. For
instance, the bitcoin is a form of virtual currency. As a business major, looking to pursue a career in
banking, I would like to point out a few points that throw red flags and concern me in regards to the
bitcoin. Bitcoin is a form of decentralized currency; it is an independent online monetary system that
combines features of cash and existing online payment methods. Bitcoin is a software based,
distributed unit of value that does not depend on centralized issuing bodies in order for it to operate
effectively. The user community ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A few months later in January of 2009 the bit coin network came into existence and later in October of
2009 an exchange rate was established. Between 2009 and 2011 Bitcoin gained momentum. The
media covered stories and soon enough online merchants began to accept bitcoin as currency. In
October of 2012 The European Central Bank says bitcoin is a characteristic of the Ponzi Scheme
(Risky Business) .
Later on, in March of 2013, the treasury clarified that exchangers of virtual currency considered
money transmitters are subject to government regulation. Bitcoin was a little hushed until November
of 2013 when industries and central bankers begin to talk more publicly about potential legitimacy of
the currency. On a more up to date note, February of this year marked the date that the U.S. Postal
service decided to look to the bitcoin for a new type of revenue. Perhaps the U.S. Postal service chose
to accept the bitcoin due to some of its perceived advantages; such as the ability to pay and receive
payment instantly worldwide. Bitcoin is also a rather cheap version of currency and carries a high
level of privacy for users.
Many people who are opposed to banking and government would love bitcoin there are no banks or
government regulations but so what? Bit coin users like it being anonymous because the banks can t
track the money. I don t understand, if you give someone twenty dollars in cash, the government has

Elephants Vs Sparkle Paper
Advertisements share one common goal, that is to draw to people s attention. In order to accomplish
this goal, advertisements contain a headline, visual, and layout. For instance, advertisements such as
Sparkle creatively and thoughtfully uses the tactics above to convince people to purchase Sparkle
paper towels. The first thing that people see in the advertisement of Sparkle Thirst Pockets paper
towels is the headline. The headline is highly visible, because it is printed in bold letters. Besides the
boldness of the letters, people are easily drawn to this advertisement, because the headline asks, What
s the difference between elephants and Sparkle paper towels? An obvious question like this targets a
wide audience and makes it unlikely for people to ignore the advertisement. The response to this
question is, Both can soak up spills, but only one can fit in your kitchen. This response triggers human
and possibly getting people to think about how sturdy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The visuals that appear in the advertisement is an elephant, package of paper towels, and the texture of
the paper towels. The elephant in the advertisement allows viewers to relate the image to the headline.
The elephant s eyes attract viewers and its facial expression evokes a joyful and warm feeling. With its
trunk the elephant is holding a package of paper towels. The motive behind the elephant holding the
paper towels is so readers can compare how an elephants easily eats and drinks using his trunk to how
the paper towels can effectively grab food or soak up spills.******** The background of the
advertisement also serves as a visual. People are able to see how the paper towels look like instead of
imagining them. The backgrounds overall visually communicates what the advertisement is all about,
eliminating any confusion people may have. The images that are portrayed capture people s attention
and stimulate interest, helping to sell the

Real World Race
Race and The Real World Kraszewski writes in his chapter, Country Hicks and Urban Cliques, that
throughout its 20 season run, (now 30+ seasons) The Real World has brought to terms race and reality
through discursive tensions between urban and rural America, as well as liberal and conservative
politics. In class we discussed this issues more in depth of video clips of the each of the tensions that
Kraszewski describes in the chapter. The most prominentwhite rural figures such as Julie, and later
Julie from season 9 and Mike from season 10, cover significant discursive terrain in the way the show
addresses racism. Through mediations of casting, family practices, editing, and narrative strategies,
The Real World suggests that racism is a phenomenon located within rural conservatives, not liberals
with an urban feel. In the article Kraszewski uses the phrase urban feel to call attention to the way
MTV promotes a certain type of image so that rural viewers in the Midwest can feel urban if the buy
the right clothes and have the right attitude.
The Real World constructs a reality that frees the audience of any implications in racism by blaming
rural conservatives for the problem. And yet, these rural figures on the show contain a ... Show more

Management Team At The Fresh Connection
Introduction
Over the last several years our management team at The Fresh Connection has been working
diligently to turn around a fledgling company and improving its position in the global market and with
the stakeholders. When we inherited this task our company had an ROI of almost 13%, and there was
an extensive list of outstanding issues. From less than optimal capacity utilization to product
obsolescence, there were issues in every aspect of the supply chain that were combining to drive the
overall ROI down. Our team focused on developing an aggressive front end strategy to combat the
ROI, anticipating that change may not come as quickly as we would like. Ultimately, we believe we
have gotten to a point now where we know what our root causes are, and have found a solution that
has started to pay off.
Strategy and Impact
By far the most important decision we had to make as a team was what kind of strategy we would
implement. This included two parts, the fist being the customer facing strategy, and the second was the
internal operations strategy. We had decided that our customer strategy initially would be to sell high
profit margin products and manage lower volumes. This would start to shift to a more flexible and
adaptive strategy as our company began to understand the customer s needs. We shifted to targeting
each specific customer with the highest demand products and would eventually trim our offerings by
removing two of the products that had the lowest service

peoples of the Americas was Columbus s voyage in 1492 when he landed in the islands which are now

Why Intelligence Is Measured By Standardized Test Scores...
In today s American education system, the arts are typically referred to as electives. they are not
mandatory and are seen as hobbies. STEM subjects (the sciences, technology, english, and
mathematics) are viewed as necessary skills in today s society. A student that has a talent for
photography yet lacks considerable skill in mathematics is usually seen as unintelligent, or
academically challenged. A different student, one who is gifted in mathematics, yet is below average
when it comes to skills in their art class is not faulted for their loss of artistic talent. They are praised
for their intelligence no matter their artistic prowess. Artistic students are constantly made to feel
deficient, as if there is something wrong with them if the struggle with STEM subjects. This paper
focuses on asking why students are made to feel that way. Why intelligence is measured in
standardized test scores and letter grades. It will explore how lack of the arts and creativity is
damaging to students, and how this disregard for creativity starts well before we are aware of it. It
starts in elementary schools and primary education systems, and continues on into adulthood. One of
the main concerns of this paper is how harmful this mindset can be to students. The modern idea of
school curriculum is that every student should be tested for the same set of skills and in the same way,
measuring every student up to the same standard. The problem with this is that the people who came

The History of the Large, Agrarian Country of Romania
Romania is a large agrarian country. Its long history is one of being a rich agricultural country, with its
people deeply connected to the land. Romanian farmers have weathered many crises and changes over
the centuries, but their connection to the land has always remained strong. Now, they find themselves
once again at a crossroad. Agriculture today is plagued by many problems: the deep scars left by the
communist regime, the current agro politics, the lack of quality development and the poverty in the
Romanian countryside are the main issues effecting Romanian agriculture growth and development.
During the communist regime, Romanian farmers lost their rights over their lands. The
collectivization of Romanian agricultural lands led to a huge loss for the rural community and to the
nation s agricultural traditions. Large numbers of peasants were moved from the countryside to cities
never to work the land again, never to pass on the knowledge and skills to their children. To these days
the word cooperative has a negative connotation for the rural society within Romania.
Toward the end of 1989, the communist regime came to an end. However the agricultural system
remained unchanged. Most of the large state farm cooperatives were privatized and ended up being
bought by the same people that used to own and operate them.
The same paradox continues today. The current Romanian agricultural politics is directly supporting
the large industrial farms that benefit from the

The Battle Of Horse Fights Pit Bull Terriers
Aggressive and/or vicious dogs are beginning to be a serious problem in the United States. With the
rise in dog fights Pit Bull Terriers are viewed in a negative light. When the wrong owner gets a Pit
Bull and withholds food and teaches the dog to fight it makes a very dangerous dog. Pit bulls are
known for their bite strength and fearless personalities. Due to all the negative media, abusive and
neglectful pit bull owners; the pit bull terriers are thought of as vicious and unsafe dogs to be around.
Pit bull terriers are discriminated against due to a misconception of the breed itself.
The name pit bull is slang for American Pit Bull Terrier. There are several variations in the pit bull
name. The name pit bull refers to several breeds such as; American Pit Bull Terriers, Bull Terriers,
Boxer, American Bulldog, Bull Mastiff, Boxer, and American Staffordshire Terriers (Bixler 2 ). In the
early nineteenth century bull and terrier breeds were created in England, but were not recognized by
the AKC until the nineteen thirties. The once loved and admired breed is now feared and threatened in
many areas. This once loved and adored breed is looked upon as a vicious killer. The general vision of
pit bulls are a large stalky frame, cropped ears and tail and with a large head.
The American Pit Bull Terriers were once known for taking care of young children. They are fiercely
protective of their human family. The same breed until the 1970 s was known as America s family
dog. The

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Dentistry
Dentistry and Types of Oral Surgery: What You Need to Know
In dentistry, there are several conditions that may necessitate oral surgery, including the following:
1. Tooth Loss
In case of tooth loss due to an infection or accident, dentistry offers an option called dental implants
which make great alternatives to dentures and bridges. These are tooth root replacements that are
surgically secured in place in the jawbone. An ideal candidate for these implants must have suitable
bone density and level, should be willing to commit to a good oral hygiene and should not be prone to
infections.
2. Impacted Teeth
In dentistry, impacted teeth are also commonly referred to as third molars. They are the last of teeth to
develop. There are times when these teeth erupt from the gum line and the jaw is big enough to have
room for them; however, in most cases, one of these teeth is unable to erupt in proper alignment ...

majority of dental fillings were mainly composed of amalgam, gold or other substances that may leave

Advancements in technology make today s dental techniques more predictable ad durable than in the
previous years. In addition to this, dentists are currently using more conservative procedures to
conserve as much of the natural tooth structure, based on the patient s particular clinical situation.
Dentists may also utilize advanced technology such as lasers to conduct certain procedures that are
needed for cosmetic treatments in their own clinics. This makes cosmetic dental techniques such as
smile enhancements more convenient and comfortable for patients. This also helps lessen the time
needed for recovery.

International Criminal Court Argumentative Essay
In 1998, the International Criminal Court was created through the Rome Statute. The court was made
with the intention of being a justice system that had jurisdiction over international crimes such as war
crimes and genocide. Originally, there were 124 states that ratified the International Criminal Court
and there were 31 states that signed. Recently, states have decided to leave the International Criminal
Court or retract their signatures. There are many arguments as to why these states are choosing to
leave, but, specifically for African states like South Africa, people argue that the International
Criminal Court is mainly prosecuting crimes committed in Africa; they believe they are spending an
unfair amount of time on the crimes in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From the point of view of a realist, states tend to pursue their own interests. Specifically, states that
have not ratified the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court can do what they deem
necessary whether or not it is in accordance with international law. Therefore, states, such as South
Africa, are driven by their own self interest to leave the International Criminal Court. For South
Africa, their self interests may include protecting their citizens from what they believe is an unjust
court system. African leaders, like the leaders in South Africa, believe that the International Court
System is biased and is a tool for Europe to beat up on Africa. (NEW YORK TIMES ARTICLE). In
particular, realists believe that self interest is driven by the state s pursuit of power. In this case, the
countries that are not under the International Criminal Court s jurisdiction do not have to follow the
international laws that are defined in the Rome Statute. Therefore, in pursuit of power, the South
African government may choose to follow the suit of other powerful countries and leave the
International Criminal Court. In contrast to the realist view, constructivism is based on the fact that the
system is created by the states, and, therefore, anarchy is

  • 2. The Helicopter Pilot Fly Over New York City Commander Brayzack asked the helicopter pilot to fly over New York City several times before landing on the deck of the U.S.S. Carl Vinson; he had wanted to see the devastation firsthand. Skyscrapers burned uncontrollably. The flames shooting out from their windows like a blast furnace. Thick black and billowing smoke puffed its way skyward from the structures like the coal smoke from an old steam locomotive. Piles of rubble clogged up the roadways making escape from the island impossible. The chopper pilot weaved his way into the streets. Brayzack watched the myriad of infected as they staggered their way aimlessly through the ruins. Their enervated demeanor reminding him of a robot vacuum he had back at home. When turned on it would just head in one direction until it ran into an obstacle, then aimlessly change to a new direction and go that way until it hit another obstacle, as if searching for something that could never be found. As the commander looked upon the legions of the undead he began thinking about his wife Laura, and if the bacteria had made its way to Middleport yet. He then thought of his kids, Randy and Kyle just teenagers, and his little girl Sarah only six. The thought of them becoming one of these things was so unbearable he could barely keep himself from shedding a tear in front of the pilot. He wished the thoughts out his mind. Wanting to forget such an inconceivable notion had ever been there in the first place. He ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Queen Guinevere Thomas Malory and Sara Teasdale emphasize distinct themes in their re tellings of the legend of Guinevere. Women play a huge role in the Arthurian legends and the most influential woman is Queen Guinevere. The legend of Queen Guinevere evolves through time with the evolution of women in society. While gaining more power in society, women are portrayed as more independent and more intelligent, therefore, the various portrayals of Queen Guinevere are written to respect the time period and the role of women during the era. During the 1600 s, women were viewed as inferior to men and were treated unequally. Early texts such as Le Morte D Arthur, written by Thomas Malory, portray Queen Guinevere as a weak woman and a selfish adulterous. This text ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sara Teasdale s poem Guenevere is an example of a text that shows remorse for Queen Guinevere, rather than depicting her as just an unfaithful wife and a treacherous queen. In this text, Queen Guinevere is seen as a strong political figure who cares about the respect of her people and her king. Her love for Sir Lancelot takes away her crown and her respect from others, her affair has unqueened [her] forevermore and she soon realizes that her love for Lancelot grows bitter that was once so sweet (Teasdale 44, 65). The poem illustrates the doubt in her decision to love Lancelot and commit adultery despite how much she wants to be with him. This depiction is not seen in early text which means that the modern world has influenced the writer to reveal the powerful political figure in Queen Guinevere. This difference in the text means that while society has grown to accept women, the legend has transformed into a text that favors women. The modern society has also learned to understand the mind of a woman in power and the decisions she makes for herself. She is self conscious about the decision to pursue a relationship with Sir Lancelot, and in the end her decision causes the downfall of Camelot and her king. In the poem, Guinevere states I was a queen, and I have lost my crown; A wife, and I have broken all my vows . . . There is no other havoc left to do (Teasdale 1 4). Teasdale wants ... INTRODUCTION Consumer demand for a product can be fulfilled entirely in the master production schedule if supported by production capacity according to production requirements. Master production schedule can be easily realized if consumer demand is constant, but in fact companies often experience fluctuations in the demand of consumers who tend to be unstable. Based on research Liske F. (2012) that capacity planning is done well can meet the demand of existing customers as well as be able to increase the company s revenue. • 6. Differences Between The Northern Colonies And Southern... Life in the North American colonies was great at one point. At first we liked having protection and assistance from the British. After a while, we Patriots yearned for more freedom. The British had too many rules and controlled a lot of aspects of our lives, including the trading of goods. To add, even though we were across the pond, they were telling us where to live. Us Patriots were forced to provide housing to the British soldiers. Although we appreciated the help, we did not want them taking over our new found land. The British provided sources of entertainment and ways to see information like newspapers and other forms of entertainment, but charged us a hefty amount. Many of us wanted to complain but we were not allowed to have a seat on the British Parliament. Without this, we have no way of communicating our problems. How could the British tax us without having someone to represent us? We were being taxed without representation and we were tired of it! The British had taken off all the taxes except tea, and that was not enough. With no fair ruling, we took matters into our own hands and dumped the tea into the Boston Harbor. Things were different in Southern colonies compared to the Northern colonies. The reason for settlement in the North was to have freedom of religion. In the South, people wanted financial gain stemming from agriculture. Though they are known for cotton, tobacco was the main staple crop of the South. Although the North colonies also wanted ... • 8. Big Data And The Data Introduction The term big data came into the picture to refer the big volumes of information s both the companies and governments are storing. The data may be where we live, where we go, what we buy and what we say etc. all will be recorded and stored forever. More than 90% of data is generated in the past 2 years only and this volume is increasing day by day and doubling for every two years. In this world, the organizations are using the data generated by us and no one knows what they are doing with the collected data. Big data is defined as a lot of structured and unstructured data from different sources, such as E commerce websites, online transactions, social networks, medical records, internet search indexes, banking and financial services, scientific searches, weblogs, and document searches and so on. Big data also can be described by four V s: Volume, Velocity, Variety and finally Value. Volume: The term big data itself tells it is related to size. Big data requires processing of high volumes of unstructured data such as data from twitter, network traffic etc. The volume of data varies from one organization to other. Velocity: The term velocity refers to how fast the data is generated and processed to meet the demands and the challenges in the path of growth and development. Reacting quickly enough to deal with data velocity is a challenge for most organizations. Variety: Data today comes in various formats, types, structured, unstructured. For example, the data may ... • 9. Saussure s System For Evaluating Linguistics Essay In Course in General Linguistics , Saussure does two things to develop his system for evaluating linguistics: he chooses language as his linguistic object and he only incorporates factors into his model that can be said to be true of all languages over all time. The net result is a very high level and flexible classification structure, which is more intent on making a developmental framework for evaluating linguistics than necessarily providing tremendous insight into it s more concrete aspects: rudiments like structure, meaning, morphology, syntax, or phonology. Others, including Levi Strauss in Structural Anthropology , have used Saussure s methodology to develop their own models for study in different aspects of human society. But ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But I feel he still needed to explicitly say it: that despite all the differences between languages, I have identified these invariants to be true over all time, and I believe this is because of certain specific commonalities between all humans, particularly the human desire to create and maintain an effective and convenient system for communicating ideas with one another. Levi Strauss additional step provides a sense of completeness to the process; that is to say that the last step provides the why and what while Saussure s method provides the how . Incorporating the Levi Strauss step gives us a new line of thought to ponder: engineering and design. Going through the steps: Structural Anthropology first hypothesizes that myths exist to provide people with anecdotes to help explain the unanswerable questions of their society such as life versus death or love, etc. Then Levi Strauss applies Saussure s method, designating a mythological object, in this case the myth itself, and then determining a set of invariants true to all myths. The most interesting of these invariants is the use of categories to deconstruct the events of a story into specific event types, which are common across all myths. And finally, Levi Strauss uses his myth decomposition to draw conclusions about the myth s moral and, by extension, the society that uses this myth. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Catholics Should Go To Mass Research Paper What s one of the main actions of a religious person, regardless of either being Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, or Baptist? Going to church, of course! However, there are some Catholics that don t attend Holy Mass, which is the Catholic s version of church . Many Catholics and Christians, over the years, have gradually declined to attend every Sunday Mass. Priests and clergy, as well as the Catholic Church Herself, have tried to institute the importance of attending Mass every Sunday. If only all of the unfaithful, Christians, and Catholics knew the value and importance of our obligatory Sunday Mass, surely then they would live up to the obligation. Every Catholic, devout or obscure, should be attending Mass every Sunday in order to follow God s law, to give thanks for God s goodness, and to receive God s graces. For those who don t attend the Holy Liturgy, it s important to acknowledge where and how God commands us to attend every Sunday. In the Book of Exodus, after the release of the Israelites slavery in Egypt, Moses presented the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai to the Israelites. One of the commandments, the Third Commandment, states Remember to keep Holy the Sabbath Day. What does this mean exactly? It specifically means that all Catholics should be attending Mass ... The Globe and Mail article Canada s new free trade agreement? How about a deal between provinces by Perrin Beatty refers to trade that is occurring inside of Canada in relation to the internal barriers of trade. As a country, Canada s first priority when it comes to trade is not necessarily trading issues between provinces, but instead trading between other countries. When the Agreement ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Agreement on Internal Trade is not as helpful as one would think to reduce interprovincial barriers. Issues arise when there is an inability to assimilate what is needed to reduce barriers. It has been so inconvenient that provinces in Canada have had to team together to make their own agreements. The agreement between Ontario and Quebec is a good example of why an agreement among provinces is not impossible. They have made it possible to focus on agriculture between the two of them, without making large changes to packaging or regulations. If Ontario and Quebec can work around the rules of the Agreement of Internal Trade then how would it be so difficult to involve the entire county? Though it will be difficult to synchronize an entire country it would be worth it for the economical advantages, along with showing other nations that Canada is not the mouse that everyone thinks. The other benefit of true interprovincial trade is breaking down the walls formed through the country. Though I am not naïve in thinking that breaking down trade barriers will fix the nation, I do think that it is the first step in making a unified country again. Canada would be wise to right the wrongs that the Agreement of Internal Trade has brought up and follow a strong leadership in correcting the barriers that it has put in ... Neuropathology and neuroimaging studies have also found myelin abnormalities and OL degeneration, particularly in the frontal lobe, temporal lobe, and corpus callosum (CC) in schizophrenic patients (McDonald et al., 2005; Schlosser et al., 2007). OL survival, restoration and myelin repair are important compensatory mechanisms that maintain normal brain function (Franklin and Ffrench Constant, 2008) and it is important to understand the role of OL dysfunction in schizophrenia and the effects of treatment. Atypical antipsychotics (APDs) are the first line treatment for schizophrenia. But their mechanisms of action are not well understood. Studies have found that the APD quetiapine prevented the cortical OL demise resulting from cuprizone (CPZ) treatment in mice (Zhang et al., 2008) and facilitated OL lineage development in vitro (Zhang et al., 2008). In addition, neuroimaging studies showed that APD treatment resulted in increased myelination in patients with schizophrenia (Bartzokis et al., 2009). These studies suggest that APDs may exert their therapeutic effects by enhancing OL function and myelin integrity. The gap between in vitro and human neuroimaging studies emphasizes the importance of the development of an animal model to study the link between molecular and cellular changes and the pathological and behavioral outcomes after APD treatment. ... This is the scene where the children learn their father, whom they believe to have no physical skills, is the best shot in town after shooting a rabid dog. There is no direct interpretation from the narrator leaving readers with only the characters dialogue to ponder. The effect is a speechless tone. While one author interacts with the text as the author, setting up each scene and action, the other only interacts as a character and this can be directly attributed to which tense they write. So despite similar overlying tones and point of views, Capote and Lee diverge immediately in style. As most authors do, both Lee and Capote wound similar themes and subthemes throughout their pieces, yet use completely different techniques to isolate these themes. In To Kill a Mockingbird, the theme is stated multiple times, interpreted by every character, and then confirmed by the narrator. • 20. Suspense In The Tell-Tale Heart By Edgar Allan Poe My intrest of this story, was raised by the suspense and the tension throughout the story, not to mention the blood and awe that builds the story slowly and then picks up the pace to the climax, where the narrator raves to the police and cannot hide his crime anymore. I imagine, that i m in an apartment with a nasty sense and with dark wood panelling and flooring. The furniture is musty or dusty. This literary work left me both terrified and disgusted. I could not believe that a human being could kill another person with such malice and for seemingly no reason. The part where the unnamed character cuts up the old man s body and then shoves him under the floorboards, produced images in my head that made it very hard for me to sleep that night! The military is known for its structure, order and discipline of the Servicemen and Servicewoman, but mostly for its great leadership throughout the ranks. The military is structured by the ranking system. In the Navy, the Service member s level of authority and responsibilities is based on his or her rate. There are the entry level rates Seaman Recruit, Seaman Apprentice and Seaman; Petty Officer Third Class, Petty Officer Second Class and Petty Officer First Class. Lastly, there are the senior level rates Chief Petty Officer, Senior Chief Petty Officer and Master Chief Petty Officer. Sailors in the rates Seaman Recruit (SR), Seaman Apprentice (SA) and Seaman (SN) are in the pay grades Enlisted 1 through Enlisted 3 (E 1 through E 3). Sailors in these rates, or paygrades, are not typically placed in leadership roles. A few expectations of Sailors in these rates are for them to employ basic knowledge and skills on a daily basis and to progress into productive leaders in today s Navy. They are also expected to obey all orders of personnel appointed over them. However, one of the greatest expectations of Sailors in these ranks, is for them to develop and exhibit decent followership skills. Due to the competiveness and the number of vacant spots, the requirement for a Sailor to advance to the rates of Petty Officer Third Class (PO3), Petty Officer Second Class (PO2) and Petty Officer First Class (PO1) or pay grade Enlisted 4 through Enlisted 6 (E 4 through E 6), they ... Real World Race Race and The Real World Kraszewski writes in his chapter, Country Hicks and Urban Cliques, that throughout its 20 season run, (now 30+ seasons) The Real World has brought to terms race and reality through discursive tensions between urban and rural America, as well as liberal and conservative politics. The most prominentwhite rural figures such as Julie, and later Julie from season 9 and Mike from season 10, cover significant discursive terrain in the way the show addresses racism. Through mediations of casting, family practices, editing, and narrative strategies, The Real World suggests that racism is a phenomenon located within rural conservatives, not liberals with an urban feel. In the article Kraszewski uses the phrase urban feel to call attention to the way MTV promotes a certain type of image so that rural viewers in the Midwest can feel urban if the buy the right clothes and have the right attitude. From less than optimal capacity utilization to product obsolescence, there were issues in every aspect of the supply chain that were combining to drive the overall ROI down. Our team focused on developing an aggressive front end strategy to combat the ROI, anticipating that change may not come as quickly as we would like. Ultimately, we believe we have gotten to a point now where we know what our root causes are, and have found a solution that has started to pay off. Strategy and Impact By far the most important decision we had to make as a team was what kind of strategy we would implement. This included two parts, the fist being the customer facing strategy, and the second was the internal operations strategy. We had decided that our customer strategy initially would be to sell high profit margin products and manage lower volumes. This would start to shift to a more flexible and adaptive strategy as our company began to understand the customer s needs. Its long history is one of being a rich agricultural country, with its people deeply connected to the land. Romanian farmers have weathered many crises and changes over the centuries, but their connection to the land has always remained strong. Now, they find themselves once again at a crossroad. Agriculture today is plagued by many problems: the deep scars left by the communist regime, the current agro politics, the lack of quality development and the poverty in the Romanian countryside are the main issues effecting Romanian agriculture growth and development. During the communist regime, Romanian farmers lost their rights over their lands. The collectivization of Romanian agricultural lands led to a huge loss for the rural community and to the nation s agricultural traditions. Large numbers of peasants were moved from the countryside to cities never to work the land again, never to pass on the knowledge and skills to their children. To these days the word cooperative has a negative connotation for the rural society within Romania. Toward the end of 1989, the communist regime came to an end. However the agricultural system remained unchanged. Most of the large state farm cooperatives were privatized and ended up being bought by the same people that used to own and operate them. The same paradox continues today. The current Romanian agricultural politics is directly supporting the large industrial farms that benefit from the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
