Background
The case of Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka is one of the most profound cases in Canada. Paul
Bernardo is known as a Canadian serial killer and rapist, specifically in the southern Ontario area. He
came from a home of abuse and neglect. Despite his childhood, he graduated from University of
Toronto in the Scarborough area with a commerce and economics degree. This proved that Paul was
an intelligent intellectual who was seen as the average in society. In October of 1987, Paul met Karla
Homolka after recently breaking up with his former girlfriend. At this point in his life he became the
Scarborough rapist who is widely known today. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Within their marriage Karla developed an obsession with pleasing Paul such as fulfilling all of Paul s
sexual and sadistic desires. Due to Karla s obsession with satisfying Paul, she was aware of and went
as far as being involved with the rapes and murders that Paul conducted. The first incident that Karla
participated in, involved her younger sister Tammy Homolka. Paul and Karla drugged and raped
Tammy, during this time she, unfortunately suffocated on her own vomit. All of these actions
originated because Paul had a fetish with virgins, Karla was not a virgin when she met Paul and
therefore he convinced her to let him have sexual encounters with her sister who was a virgin. From
then on Karla was shown to have taken part in many of Paul s erroneous sexual activity involving

Vanishing Point Rab
The poem s title is Vanishing Point by Lawrence Raab, which generally speaks of life s journey and
the aspirations each one of us has for him or herself. The title of the poem describes the perspective of
life. At the vanishing point, distant objects seem to be little and parallel lines appear to converge. This
is the point of confusion whereby a person s beliefs about the purpose of life appear void. At this
point, a person is no longer sure whether purpose and destiny matter.
The speaker is analyzing the walk of life, the hopes and dreams that each one has concerning their
own life and their relationship to elapsing time. A person finds him or herself on a journey. The irony
of this journey is that it was destined by someone else and not ... Show more content on

It is not possible to tell whether the life of a person will be successful or not. For this reason, people
live in anxiety and the fear of the unknown. The speaker says that this walk is personal and everything
else does not matter. Besides, he describes that the direction where the road is leading has hardships.
He uses the poetry style of symbolism to metaphorize the concept of destiny. Did you really think you
were just out for an aimless stroll? by this question, the speaker implies that the direction of the
journey is of person s own making. The person decides which direction he or he wants to go.
However, in the end, the choice pf direction will matter.
The speaker discourages the readers against placing too much focus on the problem. In his poem, he
stipulates that a long focus on the horizon s mountains makes them seem too impossible to overcome.
And those mountains on the horizon: the longer you look, the more forbidding they become, bleak and
self important

Compare And Contrast Essay On Online School Vs Traditional...
Online School vs. Traditional School Jessica O Brien Strayer University English 215 Professor: Robin
Parks 12/4/11 Online School vs. Traditional School It seems that technology is growing, improving,
and changing at an exponential rate. Technology now affects every part of our lives from the time we
get up to the time we go to bed, and even as we sleep. One of the major areas that has been affected by
technology is education. At one time, the only option for students to complete their education was in a
traditional classroom setting. There has become a major need for non traditional education because
there has been a growth in the amount of non traditional students that exist in our society. The
advancement of technology has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One major concern is that cheating will be increased due to there not being any proctoring or
monitoring of exams. This is a very valid concern. Plagiarism is a major issue in any school, whether
it is an online or a traditional classroom setting. The major concern that some people have is that
plagiarism is much easier online than it is in a classroom setting. I would have to disagree with this. I
have been both a student at a traditional university (Georgia State University), and I have been a
student online (University of Phoenix for 2 years and now, Strayer University). If a student wants to
cheat on a paper, it is just as easy to do it whether he/she is physically submitting it to a professor or
electronically submitting it. The medium used for submission does not change the actual process the
student takes when writing the paper. Also, cheating on an online exam is not as easy as one may
expect. Most classes do not offer multiple choice online exams for the very reason that there is a
concern, because it would be easy to copy and paste a question into Google or any other popular
search engine. Instead, the tests usually require the student work the problem out on his/her own or
write a paper or summary to show that he/she actually understands the content. I find that

Circles Of Context
Usually when I am told to read a verse in the Bible, I just read that verse and using the information
that specific verse provided, I take a guess at what that verse is saying or explaining. Little did I know
that because I was reading just one verse alone, I was probably misinterpreting it. The circles of
context were invented to help with this problem. We first look at the immediate text, then we can look
at the rest of the book, now we can look at the introductions of this book and others by the same
author. Then, we can look throughout the same testament to see if any other information relates, and
finally we can look into other testaments. By understanding the circles of context, we have a better
and deeper understanding of the Bible ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
John 12: 46 carries the same theme of connecting with Christ as John 15. The verse states, I have
come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness. John 14: 20
also contains this theme. The verse says, In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in
me, and I in you. Chapter 17 verse 10 of the book of John summarizes just how connected we are to
him. It says, All mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I am glorified in

What Are The 5 Approaches To Health Promotion
There are five different approaches to health promotion, each of these have different aims, methods
and means of evaluation they are not guidelines but individually reflect different ways of working.
(Naidoo Wills, 2009.)
The Medical/Preventive model is scientific and targeted towards high risk groups, the main aim is to
prevent disease and reduce morbidity and premature mortality. The approach is broken down into
three stages these being: Primary prevention The first stage of the approach aims to ensure people are
aware of risks and try to prevent disease through encouraging individuals to take the right steps
towards good health. Secondary prevention This stage is about preventing the growth of further
disease, by using methods such as screening for early diagnosis. Tertiary prevention The final stage is
about reducing disease or illness in the individual and ensuring that recurrence of a disease is
prevented.
The behavioural change model encourages individuals to adopt healthy behaviours into their lifestyles
in order to improve their health. The individual has to take responsibility and want to change their
health behaviours, health professionals are there to advise and educate them how to improve their
health through this change. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Veroid Virus
A virulent virus is more severe, the cell of the living host is completely taken over by the viral
genome. Once inside the host cell, the viral genome replicates and kills the host cell upon exit. An
example of this is HIV. HIV is a virus that presents immunodeficiency, the immune system being
comprised results in a weakened ability to fight off infection. HIV is transmitted through blood and
some bodily fluids (NHS 2014). The virion RNA integrates with the host DNA producing replications
of the viral RNA, these replications form buds on the outer membrane of the host cell, these detach
from the host cell and find new cells to infect, the host cell is eventually destroyed.
High severity of a virus can cause major economic problems such as

Out West Roy De Forest Analysis
Out West by Roy De Forest is a spectacular painting that is defined by its multiple assorted colors,
patterns and textures. Forest described himself by stating the following: I have always been a
novelistic painter, and even when I was making abstract painting it was like creating a map, basically,
and the map then turns into a landscape and the landscape adds figures... . The artist modeled this
painting after various parts of his own childhood. Each part is a different memory Forest has from his
life creating a unique relationship between the piece and the artist. Most likely, this piece was
significant to Forest because it holds memories from his life; therefore, this work is a great
representation of the unique types of paintings he creates. His pieces are filled with many textures,
colors and cartoon figures. Because this painting has various objects ... Show more content on

Similar to the dogs, the people are not the same colors. After examining this piece, I noticed that the
man with lighter skin color is relaxing while the man with darker skin color is on top of the horse with
a worried expression on his face. The man is looking to the left side of the painting, also where the
third dog discussed is looking. While there is no obvious reason for their eyes being focused in
another direction, the artist created variety to his art by doing so. In addition to the animal s and
people s eyes looking in different directions, their eyes are distinct colors. The dark furred dog as well
as the man with dark skin both have noticeably red eyes. However, each other person or animal has
blue eyes. Although their may be no real significant to this in the artist s perspective, it is an aspect
that was almost immediately noticeable when analyzing this piece at the VMFA. The distinct colors,
patterns and shapes the artist created the animals and people with brings life to the painting because of

Renewable Sources Of Energy Sources
Energy Sources
Introduction
Energy sources have been identified as being vital in running virtually all domestic and industrial
operations. There are two types of energy sources; renewable energy sources and nonrenewable
energy sources. Renewable energy sources refer to the kinds that are naturally replenished. These
include sunlight, the wind, ocean tides, waves, geothermal heat and rain (Tiwari et al., 2012).
Nonrenewable energy sources, on the other hand, are the kinds that do not renew themselves at a rate
sufficient enough to meet human demand. Fossil fuels such as coal, petroleum, and natural gas,
minerals, metal ores and groundwater all comprise nonrenewable energy sources (Verma et al., 2015).
In recommending the category of choice having weighed the benefits and demerits of each, science
has played an important role. According to scientific research, nonrenewable sources of energy are not
recommended due to the massive demerits that come with their use.
The renewable sources of energy listed above have some advantages. They are naturally occurring and
thus do not require much effort to harness. Besides, they are natural components of the environment
whose use does not contribute to environmental pollution (Tiwari et al., 2012). The fact that they are
never depleted also guarantees users who have installed the necessary harnessing machinery, of a
continuous supply of energy. Despite these advantages, however, there also exist some demerits. Much
as these sources are

Credit Card And Credit Cards
Being invited by the president of Joliet Junior College to help students who are being lured by credit
predators on the myth that getting a credit card helps people to build their credits. We will use this
opportunity to educate the audience on the concept of credit cards and its responsible use in order to
avoid its snares. Furthermore, we plan on assisting the audience to gain insight on the rationale behind
building good credit through borrowing. According to Tim Chen, the author of American Household
Credit Card Debt, an article published in the year 2015, the average student loan debt is $31,946. He
also states that there s a total of $1.19 trillion in debt for student loans, which have increased 5.9%
from last year. In this paper, we will discuss the myth of how students are being lured by credit card
predators by assuming that getting a credit card helps people build their credits. We will also use this
opportunity to define the concept of credit card and its responsible use in order to avoid its snares.
Furthermore, alert the audience of other ways to build credit such as through borrowing and getting
students loan in less interest rate from the bank.

Different Forms Of Division Of Labor By Emile Durkheim
Emile Durkheim, born in 1858 was an eminent proponent of Sociology from France, considered to be
one of the greatest in his field alongside Karl Marx and Max Weber. Durkheim aimed to study society
taking an evolutionary approach, keeping in mind that society is composed of individuals. However, it
was not essentially the aggregate sum of each individual s behavior, actions and thoughts. Durkheim
endeavored to understand transformation of society, from traditional to modern, where solidarity
changes from mechanical to organic because of the phenomenon of division of labour . In this essay I
will aim to explain first, how organic solidarity came to existence because of increasing division of
labour in society. To begin with I will take a peek ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By the same standards it also contains fallacies which limit its appeal in contemporary world. Firstly,
Durkheim s account of organic solidarity seems positivist in that the division of labor does not have
negative effects at all. With great convenience Durkheim propagates the conditions responsible for
smooth functioning of organized societies in some idyllic place. To elaborate more on this point, the
society does not have the self regulating quality as implied by organic solidarity. Durkheim s principle
assumption was that collective conscience and individual conscience coupled with the State would
lead to organic solidarity. Although Durkheim tries to take account of this nature of society through
anomic division of labor yet his viewpoint on evils of unregulated capitalism, commercial and
industrial crises, class conflict, meaninglessness, alienated labor etc. was very uncritical in nature.
This observation was further strengthened when in his later works he gradually parted away with
evolutionary optimism which underpinned the mechanical, self regulating conception of division of
labor. Secondly, Durkheim does not seem to be concerned about the ill effects of division of labor . On
one hand mutual interdependence creates solidarity which holds together societies, on the other in
modern societies one is not able to sustain without depending

Insulin resistance is the inability of the cells to use insulin. This causes an increase in blood glucose
(Ali, 2011, p. 8). The pancreas will continue to release insulin in an effort to lower the glucose level.
As more insulin is released, more fat is being stored. Increased amounts of fat build up in arteries
causing plaque. This plaque can lead to further complications such as hypertension and emboli. The
liver will then release more glucose in response to the increased level of insulin. As a result, the blood
sugar continues to rise and the pancreas becomes exhausted. Impaired insulin secretion also results in
increased blood glucose. This is due to beta cells in the pancreas not producing an adequate amount of
insulin to regulate glucose levels (Irland,

Health Care And Family Dynamics
In the modern and ever changing world improvements in life quality, healthcare, and technology have
enhanced and extended life. Although in many ways, this has been a good thing, it has also created a
number of issues that prior generations did not face. In addition to changes which are enhancing and
extending life, younger family members are becoming more regional and less local. Children are
moving away for college and to take on jobs to move forward with their own lives at a much larger
scale than years prior. These factors bring on a whole new set of issues in regards to elder care and
family dynamics than ever before. One of the most common issues faced occurs when the wishes of
an elderly adult is in contrast to opinion of family members, caregivers, or health care providers.
Different ideas about what is best in terms of living accommodations, healthcare decisions, and
general care are only a few of life decisions that plague families . This can be especially sensitive
when elderly adults are still of sound mind. There are also occasions where physical limitations,
sickness or the need for help put elderly adults in situations that are adamantly against their wishes
due to lack of support or the adverse opinion of family members. There are also changes in values
which have occurred over generations which cause disparity between younger generations and older
generations. The values of family first, and obligations to elderly family members have for various

Tom Woodard Vietnam War Memory Analysis
Through my conversation with Tom Woodard, a family friend, I have been able to see a different side
of himself and a different perspective when looking at the memory of the Vietnam War. Through this,
it proves that each individual memory has great value, and I feel it is important to listen to our
veterans to better understand the war and to further improve our nation s collective memory of it.
Being a white male from the south, it was interesting to listen to his perspective of the war and how he
discussed how liberal students protested the war. Mr. Woodard reveals how different demographics
can create different sets of memories. Looking at his story, it is evident that he clearly remembers it. It
is a memory that greatly affected his life.

The Water Of The Developed World Water
Water in the Favelas For most of the developed world water is a resource that is quickly lost in the
back of the minds of individuals. Water in this realm of living isn t a concern, the struggle to find
drinking water, the struggle to have water for clothes washing, and the struggle to have clean water for
cooking are all virtually non existent. What happens when we step out of this realm of living? How do
people that live in a world that in many ways is industrialized and in many ways still third world
function when it comes to the resources that are utilized on a daily basis? When people are given
access to a resource do they use it responsibly or do they use it out of blind consumption.

The how and the when are now left, but the how of wastefulness and conservation is going to be the
main focus out of the two.
In going forward with the research it is important to understand what Favelas actually are. In the
Encyclopedia Brittanica Jeff Wallenfeldt describes Favelas as, a slum or shantytown located within or
on the outskirts of the country s large cities, especially Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. A Favela
typically comes into being when squatters occupy vacant land at the edge of a city and construct
shanties of salvaged or stolen materials (Wallenfeldt). At last census count there were 30 plus favelas
in the city of Rio de Janeiro. There is almost 1.4 million people living in the Favelas of Rio (Instituto
Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística). For most of the residents of Favelas, the Favelas act as a live,
work, play environment. Most people own small businesses within the Favela.
It is also important to note the racial makeup of the Favela to better understand who really is living in
the Favela and how or if there is any racial importance to the research. In 2012 a whopping 83% of the
Favela population was of color, indicative of most urban cities racial breakdown (Instituto Brasileiro
de Geografia e Estatística). It is also important to recognize the actual amount of water within the
country of Brazil. Brazil is estimated to have 55,460 square km of fresh water (IndexMundi.com).

Walls are built to keep things out. Walls are also built to keep things within a designated area. Much
like the wall s structural cousin, the fence, they serve a myriad of purposes across the eons of history.
Some may even claim that they have a yuge impact on our societies. Jon Krakauer inadvertently
explores the internal walls we build to contain our deepest fears, insecurities and aspirations while he
researches the demise of Chris Mccandless in his non fiction piece titled Into The Wild. Sean Penn
does likewise in his adaption of the book to film. Like many people, Chris had built a wall to protect

Development Of Developing And Managing Offerings
Developing and managing offerings constitute one of the highest risk any organization can make.
These are decisions that can led to bankruptcy if it fails nonetheless firms needs to continuously seek
for ways to meet those needs if they must stay in business. Sure, in your area you have seen some
businesses shut their doors after just a few periods of existence. Some firms like Adidas, Samsung and

George Orwell Use Of Conformity In 1984
A rebel is a person who rises in opposition against an established government; a person who refuses
allegiance to and resists a ruling party. Every society s set of rules and regulations evokes the inner
insurgent of a minority; George Orwell s dystopia demonstrates the execution of pursuing ones
rebellious tendencies and the unconscious destruction that follows. In George Orwell s 1984, Orwell
juxtaposes rebellion and conformity by using various techniques. The portrayal of London, the Prole
District and the Golden Country, the contrast between the Parson s family unit and Winston s
relationship with Julia along with the depiction of mind versus body are all ways in which Orwell
chooses to analogize rebellion and conformity.
Within Orwell s dystopia, London, the Golden Country and the Prole District play large roles in the
way Winston and Julia not only act, but also speak of themselves and the Inner Party. London is a
concrete jungle where, ...there seemed to be no colour in anything except the posters that were

Why Is Noah s Ark Possible
Was Noah s Ark Possible?
In today s society, many children learn about the story of Noah s ark during their childhood. This story
often leads to a spark of imagination to children trying to imagine all of the animals to be on one
gigantic ark. What may seem like an incredible story in the light of a child s eyes may often lead to
questions on how it was possible as one gets older. This in turn leads to some of the possibilities of
what it would take if Noah s ark were to be possible.
The story of Noah s Ark began when God realized that the ancestors of Adam and Eve had slowly
began to become wicked as the generations grew and in to get rid of this, He would have to dispose of
humans (The Holy Bible New King James Version, 1982). However, there was one individual, ...

There was no way for Noah to precisely know what it would take for the boat to survive rough waves
or if it would be large enough to hold every species. Boats were made out of hollow logs, so there was
no one to turn towards to build an ark (Moore, 1983). If there were others that helped Noah build the
ark, they also would have needed a basic understanding of the requirements to build a boat. Also,
Noah would have needed to have known that wood would not be the best material to make the ark out
of because of the possibility of the wood to sag and rot within the time that he built it (Moore, 1983).
Steel, a much more preferred material, was used for boats this large of size, however steel was not
available during this time (Moore, 1983). Since these tools and materials were not available and the
ark needed some sturdiness, God told Noah to coat the entire ark with pitch, which was a common

Ethical Dilemmas In Medical Research
Doctors have always been thought of as the caretakers of mankind and that is why the type of
medicine performed by the doctors of Nazi Germany was so shocking, egregious and immoral that it
violated the trust placed in them by humanity. The Holocaust seems so far removed from our reality
today, and it may be hard for people to imagine the horrors inflicted by such doctors as Joseph
Mengele and others in the name of medical advancement . There is no doubt that these
experimentations are viewed as barbaric, unethical and thinly veiled under the guise of science. Many
feel that findings from these studies should never be published or used. An ethical and moral dilemma

One of the most gruesome and well known doctors of human experimentation during the Holocaust
was Josef Mengele. He was known as the Angel of Death (citation) or the White Angel for his cold
and cruel demeanor during the camp selection process (6). Mengele performed many horrific
experiments on twins. Most experiments were performed on Jewish and Roma (Gypsy) children in the
context of finding out the genetic origins of disease and to also to see if he could unlock the secret of
multiple births in the hopes of increasing the German race. Of the 1000 set of twins that were
experimented on, only 200 sets survived. (7). If Mengele did not deem the patients worthy of being
kept alive, he would have their bodies dissected and cataloged. Mengele did such atrocious things to
these children such as injecting lethal chemicals into their eyes in the hopes of creating blue eyes, a
requirement for his pursuit of the perfect Aryan specimen (6). He also injected the patients with
mysterious concoctions or syringes filled with diseases such as typhus or tuberculosis to see the
effects on the body. Another of his atrocities involved sewing twins together in the hopes of creating
his own set of Siamese twins. Moreover, Mengele performed surgeries without anesthesia for such

Government policies
Fiscal policies of the government can have significant impact on the industry s performance.
Governments generally impose high taxes on airline industry, which is passed on to the customers in
the form of higher air fares, alternatively airlines reduce the number of staff is cut down costs. An
example is United Kingdom, when the UK government imposed high taxes on the aviation industry,
the number of cargo operators reduced sharply in order to reduce costs (My Efficient Planet, 2010).
On the other hand governments support aviation industry by building airports, roads and hotels near
airports, because they recognize this industry as an important ingredient for economic well being. In
addition governments arrange security at the airports to ensure safe journey. The terrorist attacks of
September 11, 2001 have had negative implications for the industry. Over the years, all the airlines
have changed their routes, marketing tactics and prices; they are also making an effort to reduce the
fear and negative image associated with air planes. Governments have imposed strict security checks
on air travel passengers in order to avoid any unforeseen terrorist activity.

GDP
The growth of airline industry in any country is directly proportional to its GDP growth; the greater
the business activity, the more air travel and the higher the GDP of the country. The demand

Indie Games Research Paper
What is an indie game?
There is no widely accepted definition of what an indie game is, but there are a few defining
characteristics. Indie games, or independently developed games, are usually developed by a small
team without the funding of a publisher. Usually the companies that make these games are specifically
formed to create these small games. These companies (due to the lack of a publisher) have total
creative freedom for their games and no limitations on what can be in these games. They often touch
on delicate and sensitive subjects that mainstream games would not. The fact that these teams are
small but still have the ability to touch on sensitive topics in the world with their games. The fact that
they have no controlling parties have made independently developed games, synonymous with

James Riddle Hoffa s Story
A man suddenly disappears on July 30, 1975 in Michigan. That man was the powerful leader of the
Teamsters union, James Riddle Hoffa. He was sentenced to prison, but later on he was pardoned by
President Nixon. About four years after being pardened, on July 30th, 1975, he disappears. He was last
heard from in Bloomfield Township after arranging a meeting. Some believe he just lived under a new
name and lived out the rest of his days, while others believe the Mafia actually killed him. Jimmy
Hoffa was killed by the Mafia because government officials didn t want him to rise and gain more

Questions On Test Taking Strategies
In order to be successful in taking a test, a person needs to practice and be knowledge in the area of
test taking strategies. There is a difference between being well prepared for a test and doing well on
the test. Even though knowing the content of what a person will be examined over is important, there
are many additional factors that play in to take a test.
How to Avoid Reading into the Question Whenever you read the question for the first time, never ask
yourself the question what if or well because chances are when you think more than you have to about
a certain question, you end up getting the answer wrong. It is always good to focus on the important
words such as immediate, initial, first, priority because these words are powerful and can change the
entire meaning of question if taken out. Another help key is using process of elimination by taking out
the answers you know definitely are not correct and then going back and rereading the question. Fill in
the blank questions are probably the hardest because you don t have choices to pick an answer from.
Rather than thinking too hard about the various answers going through your mind, take your gut
feeling and apply that concept to answer the question being asked.
Strategic Words
Strategic words are sometimes good and sometimes bad depending on how much they confuse the test
taker. More focus and emphasis should be put on strategic words because usually questions who have
strategic words in them tend to have

The Spy and The Bravo
Spy fiction is defined as a genre of literature that focuses on the activities of spies and the world of
espionage. The genre dates back to the mid to late 19th century. An early example of a spy novel is by
an American novelist James Fenimore Cooper; The spy (1821) and The Bravo (1831). Spy fiction
would mostly be influenced by events that have occurred in the real world such as, the Cold War,
which will be discussed in this essay and how it became to influence the writing of spy fiction and
how it built its popularity in the literature world. The Cold War emerged in 1946 due to the tension
between the western powers (USA, UK, Europe and Canada) and the Soviet Union, which included
the Russian communist. Shortly after the Second World War ended, the Soviet Union refused to
remove its forces in areas of Europe that they have taken over during the war. This caused the crisis of
the Cuban Missile Crisis and Berlin wall, being just some of the issue raised at that time. The Soviet
Union broke up in 1991. The most enduring motif about the Cold War is the storytelling about spies,
agent and assassins living a double life that included secrecy so they could infiltrate their enemies.
The US and USSR spent a large amount of time and money to train spies and agents during the Cold
War to deploy them around the world. The main purpose of espionage is to gather information from
their enemy and as their technology or gadgets were not advanced as it is now, they would send spies

Pop Culture In Japan
The throbbing crowd of Japanese business men all dressed in a suit holding a briefcase in a crowded
train station is a common image associated with the culture in Japan. Japan s culture has promoted a
lifestyle where work is prioritized over everything else and consumes the time of most adults. In
Response to this stressful work culture, Pop Culture has emerged in Japan as a way of providing
various mediums for escapism. For many Japanese adults, the time to create new relationships in the
form of romance or friendship has had to be given up due to the high expectations of work. Fred
Schumann who wrote Changing Trends in Japan s Employment and Leisure Activities: Implications
for Tourism Management, wrote about trends in Japanese leisure activities and wrote: Today s
consumers in Japan appears to be less materialistic and more experience focused. (Schumann 2017,
51). With the decline of human connection, the rise of artificial and paid for services has increased. I
will be discussing the significance of these leisurely outlets to the Japanese people and why there has
been a rise of these outlets in Japan. Affective labour is a term that can be used to describe work and
positions that invoke emotions onto its customers. This is a description of the category that all the jobs
discussed in this essay fall under. Furthermore, an article written by Scott M. Fuess delves into the

Theme Of Mrs Dalloway
5. Clarissa s Decision of Marriage For women, marriage often serves to secure a position in the
society, independent of their own personal attributes like talents, abilities and even beauty. Marriage is
definitely one of the most basic and essential concerns that women are enormously engaged with.
Virginia Woolf writes Mrs. Dalloway in order to reveal the truth of life, especially the life of the
married women. She aims to capture the realities and the struggles of her characters in their society. In
Mrs. Dalloway, Clarissa made her decision to refuse Peter Walsh and Marry Richard Dalloway.
Throughout the novel, she justifies her choices and declares that she preferred to live a good life, or
better to say, a secure one which she would somehow have control over. From her own memory when
she is walking in the St.James s Park. Mrs. Dalloway thinks of Peter Walsh, her ex love, how they

Pants On Fire Analysis
On September 10th, Katie Sanders from PunditFact and former writer from Politifact Florida gave a
speech at the Bob Graham Center titled Pants on Fire: Misinformation in American Politics. The talk
and subsequent Q A centered on the perpetuation of misinformation that is experienced in
contemporary American politics as well as what journalists and common people alike can do to
combat it. Though these were the focal points, three related tangents were my main takeaway from the
experience. During the talk, a statement transported me to the previous week s discussion on Burgis
and Collier. Sanders opened by stating it is important to challenge every statement we read and take
nothing as true until it is verified information. It seemed not only true of American politics (though it
is an essential attitude to maintain when exploring this realm) but of all fields, especially political
science. Many academics argue about whether quantitative data is the apex of research or ... Show

prime aim of this research is to focus on the hard type cheese varieties mainly, Cheddar.
Limitation pertaining in the low fat cheese has provided an immense scope in the research field to
overcome the problem related to the unacceptability of flavour, texture and functionality of low fat

Swarm Robotics Literature Review
Literature review
Nowadays, along with the development of the world, people now want to do much more complicated
work. In order to handle these prolems, the systems of robot have een developed. Just like human,
robots are always better when they work as a group, this is when the communication and coordination
algorithms need to be applied. To have a better look about this systems, we need to understand clearly
the term Swarm Robotics .
Defining swarm robotics
Åžahin (2005, p.1) defined swarm robotics as a novel approach to the coordination of large numbers of
robots. By simulating some properties of natural systems, this method is used to control a large
number of similar robots to do complicated tasks that an individual robot cannot.
There are three properties that define swarm robotics and separate it from other multi robot systems
(Åžahin, 2005). A swarm robotic system must be robust, which means that if any robot in the system
stops functioning, the rest of the system still continues to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, due to large number of robots, and various environments that the group of robots may
operate in, as well as changes in the number of robots in a group for different tasks, developing an
effective algorithm for swarm robotics systems seems to be a great challenge. Stirling and Floreano
(2010) proposed a system in which some robots act as communication relays, while other robots
operate as normal troops. This method used no or low bandwidth communication, and showed good
scalability performance. However, the use of this methods is only limited to small area operation, as
the range between communication relays and the robots are limited. Wireless LAN is a solution to this
limitation, as it support long range as well as high bandwidth communication, however this is proved
to be a costly solution, as every robot in the system must have a WLAN module to support this
method (Brambilla et al.,

Big Data And Bare Metal Essay
Big Data and Bare Metal TOC EXEC SUMARY GOES HERE ONCE PAPER COMPLETED
Introduction The industry is inundated with articles on big data. Big data news is no longer confined
to the technical web pages. You can read about big data in the mainstream business publications such
as Forbes and The Economist. Each week the media reports on breakthroughs, startups, funding and
customer use cases. No matter your source for information on big data, one thing they all have in
common is that the amount of information an organization will manage is only going to increase; this
is what s driving the big data movement. Organizations are relying on increasing amounts of
information from a variety of sources, text, images, audio, video, etc., to analyze, improve and execute
their operations. These information sources are very large and complex and include data sets that are
structured and unstructured and today s processing applications are inadequate and expensive.
Industries suffering from big data challenges include the financial services, healthcare, retail, and
communications, to name a few. These industries have been collecting data for years and with the
advent of the Internet of Things data is growing exponentially. The challenge is how to make sense of
this data and turn it into business value analytics and predictive analytics. The big data phenomenon is
about collecting and storing large amounts of data and running analytics application ns on these large
datasets.

The Effect of Standard of Beauty toward Pecola in The...
The Bluest Eye is taking place around 1940 in Lorain, Ohio. During the year of 1940, discrimination,
especially toward African Americans, was still a serious problem. People believe that whiteness is the
standard of beauty. The main character, Pecola, who was a nine years old African American, was
influenced by how people view beauty. Pecola suffered and felt that she is inferior to others. Pecola
believed that having a pair of blue eyes would made people think she is pretty, and would be the key
resolving all the problems. What is beautiful? How do people define beauty? People view differently.
Usually, we judge people, first, from his or her appearance then to their inherence. It is a common fact

This concept affected Pecola how she views beauty. Pecola evaluated herself ugly, and wanted to have
a pair of blue eyes so that every problem could be solved. Pecola was an African American and lived
in a family with problems. Her father ran away because of crime, her brother left because of their
fighting parents, and was discriminated simply because she has dark skin. Pecola is a passive person.
She is almost destroyed because of her violent father, Cholly Breedlove, who raped her own daughter
after drinking. Because of this, Pecola kept thinking about her goal to reach the standard of beauty.
However, she was never satisfied with it. Pecola believed once she become beautiful, fighting between
her parents would no longer happen, her brother would come back, and her father would no long be a
rapist. No problem would exist anymore. Besides the inherent self confident issue, the outside voice
from community is also affecting Pecola s view. For example, in the accident when Pecola went into
Junior s house, Junior killed the cat and impute to Pecola. His mother, Geraldine, saw Pecola was
holding the dead cat. Without any thought and didn t even ask for the truth, Geraldine simply called
Pecola a nastylittle black bitch. This event, again, reinforces Pecola s view of what beauty means.
Tonis Morrison slightly defined the value of beauty and demonstrated Pecola s desire to be

People who are well rounded are perceived differently by different people with respect to what they
consider as balancing of the world around them. More considerations are given to the nature of the
surrounding around people in terms of how they behave, what is expected of them and if they coincide
with their age, success in life or anticipated wisdom at specific age. The level of socialization of a well

Cyber Crimes Over Recent Years And The Social Affects
Literature Review Study
During this literature review, I will be explaining the increase in cyber crimes over recent years and
the social affects this has in current society. Furthermore, this literature review will also focus on the
topic of digital forensics and the problems that investigators have against the ever growing number of
cyber crimes. However, the main part of this literature review is to discuss the topic of Steganography

hiding information using steganography and also to detect if Steganography has been used on an
image.

Drago F05 Background The case of Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka is one of the most profound cases in Canada. Paul Bernardo is known as a Canadian serial killer and rapist, specifically in the southern Ontario area. He came from a home of abuse and neglect. Despite his childhood, he graduated from University of Toronto in the Scarborough area with a commerce and economics degree. This proved that Paul was an intelligent intellectual who was seen as the average in society. In October of 1987, Paul met Karla Homolka after recently breaking up with his former girlfriend. At this point in his life he became the Scarborough rapist who is widely known today. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Due to Karla s obsession with satisfying Paul, she was aware of and went as far as being involved with the rapes and murders that Paul conducted. The first incident that Karla participated in, involved her younger sister Tammy Homolka. Paul and Karla drugged and raped Tammy, during this time she, unfortunately suffocated on her own vomit. All of these actions originated because Paul had a fetish with virgins, Karla was not a virgin when she met Paul and therefore he convinced her to let him have sexual encounters with her sister who was a virgin. • 3. Vanishing Point Rab The poem s title is Vanishing Point by Lawrence Raab, which generally speaks of life s journey and the aspirations each one of us has for him or herself. The title of the poem describes the perspective of life. At the vanishing point, distant objects seem to be little and parallel lines appear to converge. This is the point of confusion whereby a person s beliefs about the purpose of life appear void. At this point, a person is no longer sure whether purpose and destiny matter. The speaker is analyzing the walk of life, the hopes and dreams that each one has concerning their own life and their relationship to elapsing time. A person finds him or herself on a journey. It is not possible to tell whether the life of a person will be successful or not. For this reason, people live in anxiety and the fear of the unknown. He uses the poetry style of symbolism to metaphorize the concept of destiny. Did you really think you were just out for an aimless stroll? by this question, the speaker implies that the direction of the journey is of person s own making. The person decides which direction he or he wants to go. However, in the end, the choice pf direction will matter. The speaker discourages the readers against placing too much focus on the problem. In his poem, he stipulates that a long focus on the horizon s mountains makes them seem too impossible to overcome. Online School vs. Traditional School Jessica O Brien Strayer University English 215 Professor: Robin Parks 12/4/11 Online School vs. Traditional School It seems that technology is growing, improving, and changing at an exponential rate. Technology now affects every part of our lives from the time we get up to the time we go to bed, and even as we sleep. One of the major areas that has been affected by technology is education. At one time, the only option for students to complete their education was in a traditional classroom setting. There has become a major need for non traditional education because there has been a growth in the amount of non traditional students that exist in our society. The advancement of technology has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One major concern is that cheating will be increased due to there not being any proctoring or monitoring of exams. This is a very valid concern. Plagiarism is a major issue in any school, whether it is an online or a traditional classroom setting. The major concern that some people have is that plagiarism is much easier online than it is in a classroom setting. I would have to disagree with this. I have been both a student at a traditional university (Georgia State University), and I have been a student online (University of Phoenix for 2 years and now, Strayer University). If a student wants to cheat on a paper, it is just as easy to do it whether he/she is physically submitting it to a professor or electronically submitting it. The medium used for submission does not change the actual process the student takes when writing the paper. Also, cheating on an online exam is not as easy as one may expect. Most classes do not offer multiple choice online exams for the very reason that there is a concern, because it would be easy to copy and paste a question into Google or any other popular search engine. Instead, the tests usually require the student work the problem out on his/her own or write a paper or summary to show that he/she actually understands the content. I find that ... Circles Of Context Usually when I am told to read a verse in the Bible, I just read that verse and using the information that specific verse provided, I take a guess at what that verse is saying or explaining. Little did I know that because I was reading just one verse alone, I was probably misinterpreting it. The circles of context were invented to help with this problem. We first look at the immediate text, then we can look at the rest of the book, now we can look at the introductions of this book and others by the same author. What Are The 5 Approaches To Health Promotion There are five different approaches to health promotion, each of these have different aims, methods and means of evaluation they are not guidelines but individually reflect different ways of working. (Naidoo Wills, 2009.) The Medical/Preventive model is scientific and targeted towards high risk groups, the main aim is to prevent disease and reduce morbidity and premature mortality. The approach is broken down into three stages these being: Primary prevention The first stage of the approach aims to ensure people are aware of risks and try to prevent disease through encouraging individuals to take the right steps towards good health. Secondary prevention This stage is about preventing the growth of further disease, by using methods such as screening for early diagnosis. Tertiary prevention The final stage is about reducing disease or illness in the individual and ensuring that recurrence of a disease is prevented. Forest described himself by stating the following: I have always been a novelistic painter, and even when I was making abstract painting it was like creating a map, basically, and the map then turns into a landscape and the landscape adds figures... . The artist modeled this painting after various parts of his own childhood. Each part is a different memory Forest has from his life creating a unique relationship between the piece and the artist. • 9. Renewable Sources Of Energy Sources Energy Sources Introduction Energy sources have been identified as being vital in running virtually all domestic and industrial operations. There are two types of energy sources; renewable energy sources and nonrenewable energy sources. Renewable energy sources refer to the kinds that are naturally replenished. These include sunlight, the wind, ocean tides, waves, geothermal heat and rain (Tiwari et al., 2012). Nonrenewable energy sources, on the other hand, are the kinds that do not renew themselves at a rate sufficient enough to meet human demand. Fossil fuels such as coal, petroleum, and natural gas, minerals, metal ores and groundwater all comprise nonrenewable energy sources (Verma et al., 2015). In recommending the category of choice having weighed the benefits and demerits of each, science has played an important role. According to scientific research, nonrenewable sources of energy are not recommended due to the massive demerits that come with their use. The renewable sources of energy listed above have some advantages. They are naturally occurring and thus do not require much effort to harness. Besides, they are natural components of the environment whose use does not contribute to environmental pollution (Tiwari et al., 2012). The fact that they are never depleted also guarantees users who have installed the necessary harnessing machinery, of a continuous supply of energy. Despite these advantages, however, there also exist some demerits. Much as these sources are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He also states that there s a total of $1.19 trillion in debt for student loans, which have increased 5.9% from last year. • 11. Different Forms Of Division Of Labor By Emile Durkheim Emile Durkheim, born in 1858 was an eminent proponent of Sociology from France, considered to be one of the greatest in his field alongside Karl Marx and Max Weber. Durkheim aimed to study society taking an evolutionary approach, keeping in mind that society is composed of individuals. However, it was not essentially the aggregate sum of each individual s behavior, actions and thoughts. Durkheim endeavored to understand transformation of society, from traditional to modern, where solidarity changes from mechanical to organic because of the phenomenon of division of labour . In this essay I will aim to explain first, how organic solidarity came to existence because of increasing division of labour in society. To begin with I will take a peek ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By the same standards it also contains fallacies which limit its appeal in contemporary world. Firstly, Durkheim s account of organic solidarity seems positivist in that the division of labor does not have negative effects at all. With great convenience Durkheim propagates the conditions responsible for smooth functioning of organized societies in some idyllic place. To elaborate more on this point, the society does not have the self regulating quality as implied by organic solidarity. Durkheim s principle assumption was that collective conscience and individual conscience coupled with the State would lead to organic solidarity. Although Durkheim tries to take account of this nature of society through anomic division of labor yet his viewpoint on evils of unregulated capitalism, commercial and industrial crises, class conflict, meaninglessness, alienated labor etc. was very uncritical in nature. This observation was further strengthened when in his later works he gradually parted away with evolutionary optimism which underpinned the mechanical, self regulating conception of division of labor. Secondly, Durkheim does not seem to be concerned about the ill effects of division of labor . On one hand mutual interdependence creates solidarity which holds together societies, on the other in modern societies one is not able to sustain without depending ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This causes an increase in blood glucose (Ali, 2011, p. 8). The pancreas will continue to release insulin in an effort to lower the glucose level. As more insulin is released, more fat is being stored. Increased amounts of fat build up in arteries causing plaque. This plaque can lead to further complications such as hypertension and emboli. The liver will then release more glucose in response to the increased level of insulin. As a result, the blood sugar continues to rise and the pancreas becomes exhausted. Impaired insulin secretion also results in increased blood glucose. This is due to beta cells in the pancreas not producing an adequate amount of insulin to regulate glucose levels (Irland, ... • 13. Health Care And Family Dynamics In the modern and ever changing world improvements in life quality, healthcare, and technology have enhanced and extended life. Although in many ways, this has been a good thing, it has also created a number of issues that prior generations did not face. In addition to changes which are enhancing and extending life, younger family members are becoming more regional and less local. Children are moving away for college and to take on jobs to move forward with their own lives at a much larger scale than years prior. These factors bring on a whole new set of issues in regards to elder care and family dynamics than ever before. One of the most common issues faced occurs when the wishes of an elderly adult is in contrast to opinion of family members, caregivers, or health care providers. Different ideas about what is best in terms of living accommodations, healthcare decisions, and general care are only a few of life decisions that plague families . This can be especially sensitive when elderly adults are still of sound mind. There are also occasions where physical limitations, sickness or the need for help put elderly adults in situations that are adamantly against their wishes due to lack of support or the adverse opinion of family members. There are also changes in values which have occurred over generations which cause disparity between younger generations and older generations. Being a white male from the south, it was interesting to listen to his perspective of the war and how he discussed how liberal students protested the war. Spy fiction would mostly be influenced by events that have occurred in the real world such as, the Cold War, which will be discussed in this essay and how it became to influence the writing of spy fiction and how it built its popularity in the literature world. Hence this study will mainly focus upon improving the texture of low fat Cheddar cheese by an assumption of incorporating more amount of moisture by using a fat replacer mainly a hydrocolloid to impart a similar texture to the full fat variety. 2. Literature review 2.1. Cheese: definition and classification In accordance with CODEX Standards, cheese can be defined as a ripened or unripened soft, semi hard, hard or extra hard product within which the whey protein to casein ration do not exceed that of milk, which can be obtained by coagulating wholly or partly the protein of milk, skim milk, cream, whey cream or buttermilk by partly draining the whey portion which results due to coagulation by suitable coagulating agents such as rennet (FAO 1978). Coagulation of protein can also be carried out by processing techniques which are capable ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Black Youth Integrity-Based Research On January 26, we attended Rob Jager s presentation on civic development among black youth: toward an integrity based research agenda . Throughout the presentation, Jager presented many key concepts like integrity based perspective, strands, types of citizenship, oppression, social justice, civic engagement, cultural considerations, etc. In addition to these conceptual groundings, he presented samples from basic and applied research work. Some of these samples from basic research work were Black Youth Project Youth Culture Survey and 3D Project (CSBYC). In the Black Youth Project Youth Culture Survey, there were 634 black youth ranging from ages of 15 to 24, which undergo political cynicism, institutional racial discrimination, political ... In the first year, they were taught to identify and analyze various forms of oppression in relation to the ways rap music portrayed the themes of racial identity, gender roles, ageism, stereotypes and youth problem behaviors. During the second year, they were taught collaboratively gender and violence and the effects of Rap Music Exposure on Political Opinions and Criminal Justice in which they wrote two empirical papers. It brought to my mind that they kinds of music that one listens to does influence his/her behavior or their way of being. By this, social media play a heavy role in the development of a child to the extent that they take whatever shown on television or through music videos as the ideal of life and that they should imitate similar behavior(s). For example, in Bandura s study, the Bobo doll; the child developed aggressive behavior when he/she saw physical aggressive behavior towards the Bobo doll. In other words, adolescent(s) develop behavior(s) portrayed by social media to the extent that they imitate and believe that since others are engaging in similar behavior, thus, what they re doing is the correct way of being. • 35. Swarm Robotics Literature Review Literature review Nowadays, along with the development of the world, people now want to do much more complicated work. In order to handle these prolems, the systems of robot have een developed. Just like human, robots are always better when they work as a group, this is when the communication and coordination algorithms need to be applied. To have a better look about this systems, we need to understand clearly the term Swarm Robotics . Defining swarm robotics Åžahin (2005, p.1) defined swarm robotics as a novel approach to the coordination of large numbers of robots. By simulating some properties of natural systems, this method is used to control a large number of similar robots to do complicated tasks that an individual robot cannot. There are three properties that define swarm robotics and separate it from other multi robot systems (Åžahin, 2005). A swarm robotic system must be robust, which means that if any robot in the system stops functioning, the rest of the system still continues to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, due to large number of robots, and various environments that the group of robots may operate in, as well as changes in the number of robots in a group for different tasks, developing an effective algorithm for swarm robotics systems seems to be a great challenge. Stirling and Floreano (2010) proposed a system in which some robots act as communication relays, while other robots operate as normal troops. This method used no or low bandwidth communication, and showed good scalability performance. However, the use of this methods is only limited to small area operation, as the range between communication relays and the robots are limited. Wireless LAN is a solution to this limitation, as it support long range as well as high bandwidth communication, however this is proved to be a costly solution, as every robot in the system must have a WLAN module to support this method (Brambilla et al., ... Organizations are relying on increasing amounts of information from a variety of sources, text, images, audio, video, etc., to analyze, improve and execute their operations. These information sources are very large and complex and include data sets that are structured and unstructured and today s processing applications are inadequate and expensive. Industries suffering from big data challenges include the financial services, healthcare, retail, and communications, to name a few. These industries have been collecting data for years and with the advent of the Internet of Things data is growing exponentially. • 37. The Effect of Standard of Beauty toward Pecola in The... The Bluest Eye is taking place around 1940 in Lorain, Ohio. During the year of 1940, discrimination, especially toward African Americans, was still a serious problem. People believe that whiteness is the standard of beauty. The main character, Pecola, who was a nine years old African American, was influenced by how people view beauty. Pecola suffered and felt that she is inferior to others. Pecola believed that having a pair of blue eyes would made people think she is pretty, and would be the key resolving all the problems. What is beautiful? How do people define beauty? People view differently. Usually, we judge people, first, from his or her appearance then to their inherence. It is a common fact that appearance has an indirect ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This concept affected Pecola how she views beauty. Pecola evaluated herself ugly, and wanted to have a pair of blue eyes so that every problem could be solved. Pecola was an African American and lived in a family with problems. Her father ran away because of crime, her brother left because of their fighting parents, and was discriminated simply because she has dark skin. Pecola is a passive person. She is almost destroyed because of her violent father, Cholly Breedlove, who raped her own daughter after drinking. Because of this, Pecola kept thinking about her goal to reach the standard of beauty. However, she was never satisfied with it. Pecola believed once she become beautiful, fighting between her parents would no longer happen, her brother would come back, and her father would no long be a rapist. No problem would exist anymore. Besides the inherent self confident issue, the outside voice from community is also affecting Pecola s view. For example, in the accident when Pecola went into Junior s house, Junior killed the cat and impute to Pecola. His mother, Geraldine, saw Pecola was holding the dead cat. Without any thought and didn t even ask for the truth, Geraldine simply called Pecola a nastylittle black bitch. This event, again, reinforces Pecola s view of what beauty means. Tonis Morrison slightly defined the value of beauty and demonstrated Pecola s desire to be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
