Death Penalty Bias
Bias Comparison Essay
According to the statistics of Information center of death penalty, the death penalty is legal and
supported by thirty three states and it is banned or abandoned in seventeen states. Rationally this
division should be removed, and everyone should stand on a single forum to raise voice against the
death penalty. There are solid and logical reasons behind setting the capital punishment like death
penalty or life sentencing against severe nature of crime like murder or rape by the legal system of any
country. When somebody does a crime like murder, he/she should also be convicted with the penalty
like death in order to set a strong example for other criminals so that they do not dare to repeat the

Affluenza Essay
Affluenza is a painful, contagious, socially transmitted condition of overload, debt, anxiety and waste
resulting from the dogged pursuit of more. It is a powerful virus that has infected the American
society, threatening our wallets, our friendships, our families, our communities, and our environment.
Since the United States has become the economic model for most of the world this virus is now
flowing freely on every continent. The costs and consequences of this disease are massive even though
they are often concealed. Left untreated however, it can cause permanent discontent. Affluenza is
based on our culture and how it encourages its citizens to measure their worth by financial success and
material possessions. The media such as the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

general increase in the scarcity of time. They say it is as simple as this: increased susceptibility to
affluenza means increasing headaches from time pressure. The pace of work has seemed to increase
dramatically and we are working much faster today than we were in the past. This contributes to our
sense of being overworked, frenzied, harried, stressed out, and burned out by our jobs. Affluenza has
been found to be a family problem as well. There is a tension between materialism and family values.
Family life is often viewed by parents as instilling competitive values in their children so they can
compile the best resumes, go to the best college to get the best jobs to earn the most money. The
number of families that are regularly eating together and going on a vacation together has dropped by

black families Essay example
Family is a basic unit in every society. However, the makeup of a family is more complex to define.
There are so many types of families that it is impossible to have one distinct definition in trying to
explain how a true family is defined. For example, there are married couples with or without children,
single parent families, and even families headed by gay men or lesbians. These may not have been
considered families not too long ago, but now must be recognized because we live in such a diverse
society. What I want to focus on is the African American family, in terms of what they had to go
through before, during, and after slavery. As well as, where they are now and where it s going in the
future.

Extended Family
As I stated before the extended family has played an important role in African American families
throughout history. Extended family is made up of the family that is outside of your immediate nuclear
family, your uncles, aunts, grandparents and/or cousins. I don t come from a nuclear family, instead I
m from a single parent family, so my mom usually depended on some members of our extended
family to help get by . Even now, I m living with my grandparents, so my extended family has always
played an important role, at least to this point, in my life. The extended family is sometimes used as an
economic unit. African American families are especially known for this type of households. It allows
the family to use resources and exchange goods and services, and other things that probably wouldn t
possible if they were on their own (Dickerson, 1995). This type of living arrangement goes back to
West African cultures. For example, in the Ashanti tribe young women remained in their family
compound because the mothers weren t believed to be able to manage on their on. So they stayed and
received help from the older women in the tribe and other young mothers to help care for the children
(Dickerson, 1995). An extended family gives children someone other than their mother or father to
relate to (Staples, 1994). It can be viewed as a special friendship that isn t shared with either of the
parents.

Abstract: Agriculture uses 85% of available freshwater resources worldwide and this percentage will
continue to be dominant in water consumption because of population growth and increased food
demand. In India agriculture, primarily depends on the monsoon, which is not a sufficient source of
water. So irrigation is employed in the agriculture area. This paper targets to offer a cloud based drip
irrigation system to aid the farmers. The proposed system uses a microcontroller, sensors, and a cloud
server to provide real time network with field over a Wi Fi network. The proposed system aims to
conserve water up to a large extent by providing automatic and manual modes of irrigation. The
system can be monitored by the user on an android application.

1. Introduction
Drip irrigation is an artificial technique of providing water to the roots of the plant. It is also called
micro irrigation. An automated irrigation system is proposed in order to facilitate efficient irrigation
where water and labour scarcity conditions prevail. For high reliability, robustness and limited
resources, resistive sensors are chosen.

Compare And Contrast Snow White And Ethan Frome
Elizabeth Ammons compares Edith Wharton s Ethan Frome to the fairy tale Snow White by the
Grimm Brothers. In her comparison, Ethan Frome is the honest woodcutter , Zeena Frome is the witch
, and Mattie Silver is the silvery maiden . Ammons also notes that the novel is full of fairy tale
elements, however, does not have a typical happy ending. Snow White is about a beautiful, young lady
whose mother died during childbirth and then has an evil stepmother who is the new queen. In Ethan
Frome, Mattie s parents die; she has basically nothing. Zeena feels bad for her and takes her in to be
her servant. Mattie and Zeena are cousins and are related just like Snow White and the queen. They
have similar relationships. The evil queen becomes jealous

Similarities Between Nepal And America
There are similarities but more differences between Nepal and America. The differentiating
characteristics between Nepal and America have developed due to a different culture, religion,
educational system, rules and regulations and many more. America has been developing more rapidly
than any other countries in the whole world. Whereas, Nepal is still in the toddler phase and
developing slowly. While Nepal is a developing country, America is a developed and industrialized
country. Education that is provided differs from one country to another. For example, education that is
provided in Nepal tremendously differs from the education provided in America. But they do have
some similarities such as especially in high schools both the countries have a diverse population of
students and nonetheless, both countries value academic gain and learning performance of students,
therefore both countries work hard on giving more priorities to education that is provided in their
country. Although Nepal and America do frame up some similarities such as a diverse population of
students in school and colleges and a good enforce on well education, learning performance and

New Religious Movements In Japan During The 19th And 20th...
During the 19th and 20th century, Japan experienced a huge explosion of new religions movements.
These movements in turn helped shape the way many Japanese perceived religiousness. Shinshukyo is
a term used by Japanese to describe new religious movements. This title is veered towards religious
organizations founded since the 18th century. Many of these New Religions are greatly influenced by
older traditional religions such as Buddhism and Hinduism. Although many view these new religions
as cults, it is the complete opposite; they are non violent or rebellious. The rises of these new religions
are credited by social factors such as economic depression in the 1920 s, and the period after World
War II, in which Japan was occupied and struggling to recover. The following is a short list and
descriptions of new religions that rose in Japan. Soka Gakkai, whose name literally means value
creation society , is a new religious group with over more than 12 million members of Soka Gakkai
International in 192 countries and territories. Although Soka Gakki was founded in Japan in 1930 by

Japan because of Japan s unique approach to religion. Because Japan heavily practices in syncretism it
allows its people to practice these new religions while still staying under the umbrella of the big three,
Shinto, Buddhism, and Christianity, which in turn explains their popularity. It s almost like being in

Teaching And Learning At The City Of Athens Essay
Every school has its own story to tell. The context in which teaching and learning takes place
influences the processes and procedures by which the school makes decisions around curriculum,
instruction, and assessment. The context also impacts the way a school stays faithful to its vision.
Many factors contribute to the overall narrative such as an identification of stakeholders, a description
of stakeholder engagement, the trends and issues affecting the school, and the kinds of programs and
services that a school implements to support student learning. The purpose of the Executive Summary
(ES) is to provide a school with an opportunity to describe in narrative form the strengths and
challenges it encounters. By doing so, the public and members of the school community will have a
more complete picture of how the school perceives itself and the process of self reflection for
continuous improvement. This summary is structured for the school to reflect on how it provides
teaching and learning on a day to day basis. The city of Athens is located in Limestone County in
North Alabama surrounded by the nearby cities of Madison, Huntsville, Decatur, and Florence. The
city of Athens is comprised of an approximate population of 23,000 people. The demographic makeup
of Athens is 77% White, 17% Black, 4% Hispanic, and 2% other races (Asian, American Indian,

conversations with freshman and a couple of sophomores is one big group. The PNMs and I discussed

only sophomore at the rush events. He and I talked about how great our freshman year was and how
much we hated a certain person.
In our main conversation, we discussed about how he wanted to be a part of a bigger idea and
fortunately our mutual friend referred him to my fraternity. My friend told me how he doesn t want

emotion, there was a variety of emotions actually displayed in our conversations from both sides. We
both have displayed disgust, happiness, neutral, excitement, and frustration. When we talked about the
girl we hated he displayed all of the emotions listed above except happiness. I did the same depending
on his stories. Our show of happiness and excitement were displayed when we both discovered that
we both hate a particular girl and that he was rushing my Fraternity. Disgust and excitement was
displayed when he and I exchanged stories of our freshman year.

Windows versus Linux
Windows, and Linux are very different operating systems that are also very similar in multiple ways.
Windows was first sold on November 20, 1985 under the name Windows 1.0. It was revolutionary for
it s time. People had been used to using command line interface to type out there commands. Windows
1.0 allowed for them to just point and click on what they wanted. Then, along came Linux a few years
later. Linux was revolutionary because it was Unix like and it was open source. Open source meant
that anyone could access the source code to tailor it to their liking. This has allowed multiple different
versions of Linux to be produced since then including one called Lindows. Lindows is exactly what
you would expect from the name. It is a version ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Linux also started with a command line interface like Windows. There are many similarities between
the two. Whether or not someone selects to use it is all based on preference. A detailed evaluation will
often reveal that Windows has more features, and is easier to sue than Linux. When I took a survey of
my peers it revealed that ninety percent of end users preferred to use Windows over Linux. I asked
these people why they preferred Windows to be given multiple reasons. Some said that they preferred
to use an operating system that was native to them since they had grown up using Windows. Others
said that they liked the features better, and liked the innovations. When I asked about Lindows they
said that it would just not be the same especially considering that Linux in it s native form can not run
.exe applications which has become a major part of the typical end users daily application usage. Truth
be told however if someone was just going to browse the internet to check e mail, and perform other
miscellaneous tasks there is no distinction based on operating system. The major problem comes in
when a user needs to use specific applications or software made for Windows. Linux is a valuable
asset if you are looking to host a server but do not want to purchase Microsoft server which is the
Windows equivalency. It is easy to use, maintain, and valuable to any network that requires a server.
When it comes down to it both operating systems can do the same thing,

Compare And Contrast Classical Athens And Han China
Athens vs. Han China While both classical Athens and China were about six thousand miles apart,
each civilization produced influences that still affect our world today as we speak. Though China and
Athens shared many similarities, they also had many differences including art, society, and
government. Art in the Athenian culture showed that males were the superior being and that sports
were very common and enjoyed by most. Men often competed in discus throwing competitions in the
Olympics, but in order to do so, they needed to be physically fit. In Athenian paintings, men were
depicted having muscles and being very lean ( Document 11 ). In China however, numerous scenes of
nature were drawn using bright colors, expressing that it was of great importance. Nature was superior
to man because many artists often made people and animals a lot smaller than the trees and plants. The
images showed how it was calm and peaceful, that s why Lao tzu wrote that you find serenity when

standing. This helped Athens become a modeled society so everyone was equal before the law.
Pericles said that they were a model to other neighboring states ( Document 4 ). In Han China, there
were social classes, the emperors being at the top and the mean people being at the bottom. Mean

The Price Of Goods And Services
The way companies price their goods and services depends heavily on many different factors.
Throughout human history, goods and services have always had intrinsic value to people, and in our
day and age this is no different. Shopping, however, has changed quite a bit due to many different
reasons. Prices of goods and services are now changed by companies based on psychology, supply and
demand, and government influences to adapt themselves to the modern world. The most personal of
these three factors is the direct psychology of pricing, from items costing $0.01 less than an even
dollar amount to overcharging for soda at a fast food restaurant, prices are specifically engineered to
optimize profits for a company. According to Judith Holdershaw, writer for the Marketing Bulletin, the
practice of ending prices with $0.99 is used because the human brain, in recognizing that $4.99 is
closer to $5.00 than $4.00, has to do an extra mental step to carry the one. This may seem like an
insignificant step, however when these memories are viewed in hindsight, the brain glosses over the
extra step to convert the $0.99 to $1.00, which gives the consumer the impression of a lower cost,
even when the nominal price is practically identical. (Holdershaw) By pricing their products at one
cent below a round number, producers can also establish price points, such that when manufacturing
and transportation costs would suggest a product should be sold at $5.25, a producer can sell the
product

Examining Whether or not the Boston Massacre was a True...
The Merriam Webster online dictionary defines massacre as the act or an instance of killing a number
of usually helpless or unresisting human beings under circumstances of atrocity or cruelty or a cruel or
wanton murder (m w.com). Essentially a massacre results in either the death of many people or death
by cruel means. The Boston Massacre occurred on March 5, 1770, in Boston, Massachusetts and
involved American colonists and British troops. The colonists, upset by recent laws enacted by the
British, taunted a smaller group of British soldiers by throwing snowballs at them (Boston Massacre
Historical Society). In response, the soldiers fired upon the unarmed colonists leaving five people
dead and six wounded (Phelan, 131). Even ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The act also gave customs agents the authority to search property, including the colonists homes. The
colonial response to these acts was increasing violence against the customs officials. In 1768, the
British government sent troops to America to reinforce the Townshend Acts and protect the customs
agents. At one point there were 4,000 British soldiers in a city of only 16,000 people (Phelan, 24).
According to Phelan, there were almost daily confrontations between soldiers and civilians (38). There
was increasing tension between the troops and the American colonists. Some children as well as adults
tormented the troops by throwing snowballs and chunks of ice at the soldiers. There was also
increasing tension between the colonists who were loyal to the Crown and those who were loyal to the
colonies because some store owners broke their agreements about importing and selling British goods.
Children threw trash and rocks at those storeowners buildings. Several days before the Boston
Massacre, one of the loyalist merchants shot and killed a young man who was a part of group
vandalizing his business (Phelan, 44 46). The colonists tempers flared. By March 5, 1770, only 600
British troops remained in the city (Zobel, 181). On Monday, March 5, Boston seemed to be holding

for it to be comprehensive and of good standard (Soar, 34). However, in this mission statement, the

insufficient. Hence, the company should rather rely on its vision statement in place of its mission

inclusion that a company can be able to communicate its mission for being what it is to all its

Lets End the Civil War
Let s end the civil war Let s end the civil war is an article, written in 1962 by Harry Golden a northern
journalist. He wrote this article to highlight the Civil war centennial in the U.S. and the idea that the
centennial committees in the whole of the south, which wanted us to believe that the civil war is not
over. There are still participations in the reengagement of the civil war and some of the actors still
hope that the civil war will be restored. Harry golden thinks that the Americans see the centennial
more as a celebration of the civil war, than a centennial. And that is why one of the main themes in the
article is misunderstanding. It is a misunderstanding between the south and their view of the
centennial. He thinks that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This shows on the first line in the article (p. 119 ll.1 3) There were more confederate flags sold during
the first year of the civil war centennial (1961) than were sold throughout the South during the war
itself (1861 65) the reason why he wrote this in his article, and why I put it in the beginning of the
article is because he want s to make it clear to the reader that Southerners were participating more
during the centennial than, the actual war. On p.120 ll.38 41 and p. 121 ll. 1 2 Golden writes; once
they take the capital, they can force upon the supreme court the decisions that will restore the old

world for slaves) that they would lay under the magnolia tree laughing like they were free. Because
that is how many Southerners might think, the slave s felted like and that they are enjoying their lives
like if they were a free person. He writes this to make the Northern realize how the Southerners might

days, where it was legal to owning your own slave. All in all, Golden is trying to wake up the

Chem 112 Technical Abstract
Determination of Cations and Anions through Elimination and Confirmation Tests By: Symantha
Resendiz Introduction A topic of great importance to all scientists is the identification of compounds,
which is relevant in all aspects of their work in some way shape or form. Weather it may be
determining what is causing sickness or what is polluting the air, it is very prevalent in the science
world. In project 2, identification of cations and anions was preformed through a series of
confirmation and elimination tests that ultimately led to identifying an unknown ionic compound
made of cations and anions. Materials and Methods Part 1 Cation Tests To begin, 5 centrifuge tubes
were added 10 drops of one cation and labeled ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The mixture was then transferred to a clean centrifuge tube via pipet, carefully not wetting the upper
walls of the tube. Zinc granules were then added and the tube was immediately plugged with cotton
1/3 of the way into the tube. The tube was then warmed in a hot water bath for about 5 minutes, the
folded red litmus paper was inserted at the top of the tube with a wet crease. After a few minutes,
nitrate is indicated on the wet crease of the litmus paper, turning it blue. For the Carbonate test, 25 mg
of carbonate sample was added to a centrifuge tube and 3 drops of 6 M H2SO4 was added. A
disposable pipet was used to transfer a drop of Ba(OH)2, that hung directly from the pipet over the
carbonate solution, and the observations of the drop were recorded. Part 3 Cation and Anion Analysis
For the cation analysis, 0.566 g of an unknown compound was dissolved completely in 5mL of
distilled water in a centrifuge tube, thus confirming this solution as a stock solution. A flame test was
performed on the stock solution to give a general idea of what test was to e preformed on the stock
solution deriving the information from our logic trees in part 1. The logic tree from part 1 and the
flame test confirmed that we needed to conduct an ammonia test on the stock solution. To being the
ammonia test, 15 M NH4OH was added drop wise (about 20 drops) to the stock and the color of the
solution and the color of the solution was recorded. 10 more drops of 15 M NH4OH

The Company Play Book The Operating Budget
Accounting is the language of business; the operating budget is the company play book for the coming
year. With the operating budget the company can forecast the overall health of the enterprise.
Management is able to foresee the financial strength of the company based on the sales revenue, Cost
of Goods Sold (COGS), the operation expense that then provides the budgeted income statement.
Although good management is required to ensure a company s fiscal health, the operation budget if
well planned is the actual path that will ensure success.
The operating budget is a part of the Master Budget. What makes it so important is that it contains the
projected operating net income for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Any variance in the COGS would be evaluated. The operations team generally is responsible for the
labor and material costs.
If the overhead both variable and fixed are not within the budget it would be the responsibility of the
accounting team to identify where the variance is coming from. Did the rent go up? Are we paying
higher commissions than was budgeted for? Some area s cannot be revised, but the sales price can be
adjusted quickly for future orders if the costs suddenly go up.
Having a plan book (operating budget) but not checking to ensure that all of the contributing factors
are aligned is irresponsible. The only way to ensure that the company is on budget is to balance the
books and ensure that the cost drivers are in line. To do this the department managers need to review
and ensure that actuals are in line with the standards calculated during the creation of the budget.
A budget variance is when the expected values are different from the actual values. A sales volume or
revenue variance is the responsibility of the Marketing department. A material cost variance is the
purchasing department (generally part of the operations team). A material efficiency variance is the
responsibility of the Production department. The direct labor cost variance is the Human Resource and
Production departments responsibility. The production department needs to ensure they are using the
right skill set for the job. The Human resource

Wasteness In Snow Country
Snow Country
In the novel Snow Country by Kawabata, the author uses the snow country environment in the book to
bring out the wastefulness experienced by Shimamura in various ways. This is best seen in instances
when Shimamura is able to observe and reflect on activities going on around him while he is engaged
in his surroundings and environment. Komako, an essential part of Shimamura s snow country
experience, helps him experience multiple instances when he notices the wastefulness in her life such
as her useless dairy, wasted love, and effort between the both of them. With regard to Komako,
Shimamura is able to realize the waste in his own life.

Study hall is proven to be more helpful for students. The first reason that study hall is needed is, that it

High Quality Data Quality Analysis
3.1 Introduction
High quality data facilitate a precise analysis and the resulting statistics. Hence, high quality data
assist the organization to increase its business value. This chapter demonstrates the concept of data
quality, the effects of inaccurate data, and the factors that cause low quality data.
3.2 Data Quality
The executive and the top management in organizations seek comprehensive reports and dashboards
to enable them to understand on going processes and facilitate the decision making that improves their
business. However, the decision making process may be influenced by various factors. Data quality is
a critical factor because when the quality of the data is inferior, poor decisions could be made [39]. In
addition, data ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hence, several parties share the responsibility for the quality of data. In addition, J. E. Olson (2003)
observed that the poor data quality resulted from the rapid growth of information system technology
and the prompt evolution in system implementation and frequent changes that complicate and hamper
the quality control process [44]. According to C. Boulton (2016), 57.5% of poor data are caused by
users, followed by 47% caused by data migration and integration, which usually lead to gaps or
duplicate information, and 43.5% caused by changes to source systems (Figure 5) [45].
Figure 5: Causes of poor data quality [45]
Jack E. Olson (2003) defined data quality as data that are linked to their fit for use. In other words,
high data quality is obtained when the data fulfill the requirements and the criteria of its intended
usage. In contrast, poor quality results when the data do not fulfil their requirements [44].
3.3 Dimensions of Data Quality
In previous research, data quality was divided into two main categories: intrinsic and contextual. In
the intrinsic category, value resides within the data, which refers to objective attributes. In the
contextual category, the attributes of the data mainly depend on the context in which the data are
present, used, as well as the situation or problem. Data in the contextual category include the
dimensions of relevance and believability [39],

Observation Of Altruism
An Observational Study: Altruism and Door Holding among College Students
The purpose of this observational study is to observe door holding behaviors of both college aged men
and woman to determine their level of altruism, and whether these patterns are motivated through
altruism selflessly or selfishly. Altruism is defined as motivation with the ultimate goal of increasing
the welfare of one or more individuals other than oneself. (Batson, Ahmad, Tsang, 2002) Batson is
known for his altruistic experiments in which a person was aided by an individual, and the
characteristics and the conditions of that person was recorded. Batson is a social psychologist who
believes that altruism is indeed how he defined it, a selfless act. There are two sides when it comes to
the study of altruism one pertains to selflessness (Batson) while others believe altruism is selfishly

Siddharth Gaining Self Empowerment Through Experiences
Gaining Self Empowerment Through Experiences Reality to most people means the world and the
state of things as they actually exist, however for the purpose of this essay reality means experience,
more specifically knowledge through experience and how students in high school can acquire it in the
form of self empowerment. Self empowerment is taking control of one s own life, knowing their limits
and learning from their mistakes. Siddhartha rejected the teachings of the Buddha in order to gain
knowledge through experiences, Siddhartha lost himself and made mistakes in his quest for getting
enlightened but found retribution by realizing his mistakes, learning from them and making a change.
From Hume s philosophy it is understood that there are two types of knowledge, knowledge of the
world, which is subjective to a person s experience and prior knowledge which is knowledge of
relations of ideas that cannot be experienced such as mathematics. Although students have prior
knowledge such as mathematics, knowledge of the world comes from experience and students need
experience in order to gain self empowerment and achieve success.
Students need to learn how to take charge of their lives. Students must gain experiences from an early
age and while they are in school, so they can be further prepared for life after high school. Subjects
such as mathematics and history and essentials like PowerPoints, worksheets and information given to
students by their teachers are

used, but you re going to want to make sure the build quality is of a higher standard than the handles
and knobs used inside your home, not only due to the increased security of better quality hardware,
but because it will be exposed to the elements, so it will wear faster than an interior handle or knob
after being whipped by the wind and the rain over a number of months and years. It s also worth
mentioning that your exterior handles and knobs will make a greater impression visually on your
guests, which is definitely something for the house proud to consider.
Style
There are many styles and designs to consider, with your local DIY superstore undoubtedly offering

Driving The Cost Of Higher Education
Driving the Cost of Higher Education It seems as though the correct step for young people to follow
after high school is college. We are constantly told that if we wish to be successful, then we must get a
degree. However, with the rising costs, it s seeming like fewer people are willing or able to take the
next step into higher education. Cries about the sheer insanity of the rising costs blur into a cacophony
of anger and frustration. The discussion of whether it s even worth the cost have also begun becoming
popular, though this is its own discussion and shall not be explored here. What is of interest here is the
underlying motor of the cost increase. Since 1978, the first year that the Bureau of Labor and Statistics

Perhaps this is because their costs do not react as fast to market forces as does the private sector.
Prices are normally set, and then remain relatively stable regardless of the day to day changes in the
market. A private business can, and will, change its prices in order to maintain an equilibrium of
supply and demand. During a recession, this means lowering prices in order to combat the lowering
demand for their products. Colleges and Universities on the other hand react differently to a recession.
They raise their prices to combat budget cuts from the State and Federal levels. They still have their
costs for teaching their students, and these costs do not normally change as quickly as the overall CPI.
This would lead to the belief that college prices would fall again at the end of a recession, but colleges
and universities are always hesitant to lower tuition. Coupled with the slower reaction time of colleges
from market forces, the price stays at its elevated level far into the economic recovery. It would seem
that the Economics 101 story around higher education for the past few decades would go something
like this: for various reasons, government has decided to increase demand for higher education
massively, via increased subsidies, and in particular student loans; meanwhile, supply has not kept up.
This is because non profit universities get paid in prestige and therefore have an objective

The Causes Of The Hmong War
The Hmong people claim to have helped in the war, but no one has noticed who they were. The
Hmong came from southeast Asia, many fled from the war as a refuge from their country, it s
melancholy that people need to do this. The main cause was a political war and it has lug on for a

couldn t take any more casualties so they fled. When they arrived in America, they mostly settled in
Minnesota therefore separated slowly into other states. And as that happened, they slowly lost their
customs as they lived in America. Then the Hmong was mistreated, they had been slowly forgotten
and their aid was never recognized by the USA.
The Hmong came to the U.S.A to escape the tragedy that happened in the southeast Asian countries,
several of their relatives was left behind unhurriedly suffering, aside from that when the Hmong
people were brought to the U.S.A there were many that was aided but minority families had many

The rule of law is one of the fundamental principles of UK s unwritten or uncodified constitution .The
key idea of the rule of law is that the law should apply equally to all, rulers and ruled alike. This in the
words of the 19 century constitution expert, A.V.Diecy ensures a government of law and not a

The Law Is Always Applied
Disputes must be resolved by the application of the law rather than by other means. This means that
there must be a certainty of punishment for breaches of law law cannot apply in certain circumstances,
but not in others. By the same token, there should be punishment only for breaches of law people
should not be penalized except through the due process of law.
However, concerns have been expressed about the extent to which this principle applies in the UK; *
Not all crimes are reported and therefore legally addressed ( this applies, for instance, in the case of
most rapes) * As polices resources are limited many crimes are not detected ( for example , speeding
offences) * Trial by the media means that people may be punished without legal proceeding having
taken, or, perhaps, despite being acquitted.
4. Legal Redress Is Available Through The Courts
If people s rights have been infringed (whether by other citizens, organizations or the state,) they
should be able to protect themselves through the law. For many legal experts and a growing body of
senior judges this implies that the law should defend fundamental human rights .This is the aspect of
the rule of law that safeguards the individuals from the state.
However, concerns have been expressed about the extent to which this principle applies in the UK: *
There is no entrenched bill of right to protect fundamental human rights * The Human Rights

Reflection Paper On Going To A Camp
Going somewhere new without knowing anybody can be very terrifying. I never thought of going to a
place like this. My family heard of this camp from a few of our relatives. I have some misgivings
about this camp, but I am willing to give it a try. I am not involved in my church that often and this
camp is a christian camp so I feel like it is going to be awkward, or maybe I d be excluded. Camp
Shamineau taught me to accept myself for who I am and that everyone else will too, including God. It
is now the day that I am supposed to leave for camp and I notice that I am extremely nervous. It is in
Staples Motley so it took us about an hour to get there. When we pulled up I observe that there is a
great welcoming crew; some on horses, some just jumping and directing us where to go. We parked
the car and when I got out the air smelt like fresh cut grass and excitement! I started to get scared and
nervous of what s to come. I am now at a place that i d never been in before with people I d never met.
I know that everyone that is here most likely feels the same way. I am feeling alone, and now I

when she started to tell me not to worry and that it was going to be a fun experience. I sat on my bed

Man’yōshū vs. Kokinshū and Their Significance
The Man yōshū and the Kokinshū are perhaps among the most revered and earliest collections of
Japanese poetry. The Man yōshū, meaning Collection of Ten Thousand Leaves (or Generations), is
believed to be compiled by the poet Ōtomo no Yakamochi sometime after AD 759 during the Nara
Period. It contains over 4,000 poems, mostly tanka, that date before the end of the eighth century, and
the writings are somewhat divided chronologically into four periods. Almost two centuries later, the
Kokin waka shū or Kokinshū, meaning Collection of Poems Ancient and Modern, was compiled under
the imperial command of Emperor Daigo in AD 905 during the Heian Period by several well known
poets like Ki no Tsurayuki. Unlike the Man yōshū, the Kokinshū s ... Show more content on

hand, though it had many concluding envoys for its poetry, did not have a preface written by its
compilers or poets. The Man yōshū and the Kokinshū also had different poetic forms, styles, and
themes. While the majority of waka in both collections were tanka (short poems), the Man yōshū
contained much more chōka (long poems) and sedōka (head repeated poems) than the Kokinshū,
which only contained about ten of these altogether (Miner, 161, 163). By the time of the Kokinshū s
compilation in the Heian Period, both chōka and sedōka had greatly decreased in popularity. In terms
of style, the Man yōshū portrayed makoto (sincerity) while the Kokinshū displayed miyabi (courtly
refinement) (Varley, 60 61). For instance, in dealing with love, the

Even now, I m living with my grandparents, so my extended family has always played an important role, at least to this point, in my life. The extended family is sometimes used as an economic unit. African American families are especially known for this type of households. It allows the family to use resources and exchange goods and services, and other things that probably wouldn t possible if they were on their own (Dickerson, 1995). This type of living arrangement goes back to West African cultures. For example, in the Ashanti tribe young women remained in their family compound because the mothers weren t believed to be able to manage on their on. So they stayed and received help from the older women in the tribe and other young mothers to help care for the children (Dickerson, 1995). An extended family gives children someone other than their mother or father to relate to (Staples, 1994). It can be viewed as a special friendship that isn t shared with either of the parents. These movements in turn helped shape the way many Japanese perceived religiousness. Shinshukyo is a term used by Japanese to describe new religious movements. This title is veered towards religious organizations founded since the 18th century. Many of these New Religions are greatly influenced by older traditional religions such as Buddhism and Hinduism. Although many view these new religions as cults, it is the complete opposite; they are non violent or rebellious. The rises of these new religions are credited by social factors such as economic depression in the 1920 s, and the period after World War II, in which Japan was occupied and struggling to recover. The context in which teaching and learning takes place influences the processes and procedures by which the school makes decisions around curriculum, instruction, and assessment. The context also impacts the way a school stays faithful to its vision. Many factors contribute to the overall narrative such as an identification of stakeholders, a description of stakeholder engagement, the trends and issues affecting the school, and the kinds of programs and services that a school implements to support student learning. The purpose of the Executive Summary (ES) is to provide a school with an opportunity to describe in narrative form the strengths and challenges it encounters. Windows was first sold on November 20, 1985 under the name Windows 1.0. It was revolutionary for it s time. People had been used to using command line interface to type out there commands. Windows 1.0 allowed for them to just point and click on what they wanted. Then, along came Linux a few years later. Linux was revolutionary because it was Unix like and it was open source. When I took a survey of my peers it revealed that ninety percent of end users preferred to use Windows over Linux. I asked these people why they preferred Windows to be given multiple reasons. Some said that they preferred to use an operating system that was native to them since they had grown up using Windows. Others said that they liked the features better, and liked the innovations. When I asked about Lindows they said that it would just not be the same especially considering that Linux in it s native form can not run .exe applications which has become a major part of the typical end users daily application usage. Truth be told however if someone was just going to browse the internet to check e mail, and perform other miscellaneous tasks there is no distinction based on operating system. The major problem comes in when a user needs to use specific applications or software made for Windows. • 15. The Price Of Goods And Services The way companies price their goods and services depends heavily on many different factors. Throughout human history, goods and services have always had intrinsic value to people, and in our day and age this is no different. Shopping, however, has changed quite a bit due to many different reasons. Prices of goods and services are now changed by companies based on psychology, supply and demand, and government influences to adapt themselves to the modern world. The most personal of these three factors is the direct psychology of pricing, from items costing $0.01 less than an even dollar amount to overcharging for soda at a fast food restaurant, prices are specifically engineered to optimize profits for a company. According to Judith Holdershaw, writer for the Marketing Bulletin, the practice of ending prices with $0.99 is used because the human brain, in recognizing that $4.99 is closer to $5.00 than $4.00, has to do an extra mental step to carry the one. This may seem like an insignificant step, however when these memories are viewed in hindsight, the brain glosses over the extra step to convert the $0.99 to $1.00, which gives the consumer the impression of a lower cost, even when the nominal price is practically identical. (Holdershaw) By pricing their products at one cent below a round number, producers can also establish price points, such that when manufacturing and transportation costs would suggest a product should be sold at $5.25, a producer can sell the product ... Having a plan book (operating budget) but not checking to ensure that all of the contributing factors are aligned is irresponsible. The only way to ensure that the company is on budget is to balance the books and ensure that the cost drivers are in line. To do this the department managers need to review and ensure that actuals are in line with the standards calculated during the creation of the budget. A budget variance is when the expected values are different from the actual values. A sales volume or revenue variance is the responsibility of the Marketing department. A material cost variance is the purchasing department (generally part of the operations team). A material efficiency variance is the responsibility of the Production department. The direct labor cost variance is the Human Resource and Production departments responsibility. The production department needs to ensure they are using the right skill set for the job. After describing mountain climbing as a model of wasted effort, it is explained that For that very reason it pulled at him with the attraction of the unreal (112). Olson (2003) observed that the poor data quality resulted from the rapid growth of information system technology and the prompt evolution in system implementation and frequent changes that complicate and hamper the quality control process [44]. According to C. Boulton (2016), 57.5% of poor data are caused by users, followed by 47% caused by data migration and integration, which usually lead to gaps or duplicate information, and 43.5% caused by changes to source systems (Figure 5) [45]. Figure 5: Causes of poor data quality [45] Jack E. Olson (2003) defined data quality as data that are linked to their fit for use. In other words, high data quality is obtained when the data fulfill the requirements and the criteria of its intended usage. In contrast, poor quality results when the data do not fulfil their requirements [44]. 3.3 Dimensions of Data Quality In previous research, data quality was divided into two main categories: intrinsic and contextual. In the intrinsic category, value resides within the data, which refers to objective attributes. In the contextual category, the attributes of the data mainly depend on the context in which the data are present, used, as well as the situation or problem. Siddharth Gaining Self Empowerment Through Experiences Gaining Self Empowerment Through Experiences Reality to most people means the world and the state of things as they actually exist, however for the purpose of this essay reality means experience, more specifically knowledge through experience and how students in high school can acquire it in the form of self empowerment. Self empowerment is taking control of one s own life, knowing their limits and learning from their mistakes. Siddhartha rejected the teachings of the Buddha in order to gain knowledge through experiences, Siddhartha lost himself and made mistakes in his quest for getting enlightened but found retribution by realizing his mistakes, learning from them and making a change. From Hume s philosophy it is understood that there are two types of knowledge, knowledge of the world, which is subjective to a person s experience and prior knowledge which is knowledge of relations of ideas that cannot be experienced such as mathematics. Although students have prior knowledge such as mathematics, knowledge of the world comes from experience and students need experience in order to gain self empowerment and achieve success. Students need to learn how to take charge of their lives. Students must gain experiences from an early age and while they are in school, so they can be further prepared for life after high school. However, with the rising costs, it s seeming like fewer people are willing or able to take the next step into higher education. Cries about the sheer insanity of the rising costs blur into a cacophony of anger and frustration. The discussion of whether it s even worth the cost have also begun becoming popular, though this is its own discussion and shall not be explored here. Perhaps this is because their costs do not react as fast to market forces as does the private sector. Prices are normally set, and then remain relatively stable regardless of the day to day changes in the market. A private business can, and will, change its prices in order to maintain an equilibrium of supply and demand. During a recession, this means lowering prices in order to combat the lowering demand for their products. Colleges and Universities on the other hand react differently to a recession. They raise their prices to combat budget cuts from the State and Federal levels. They still have their costs for teaching their students, and these costs do not normally change as quickly as the overall CPI. This would lead to the belief that college prices would fall again at the end of a recession, but colleges and universities are always hesitant to lower tuition. Coupled with the slower reaction time of colleges from market forces, the price stays at its elevated level far into the economic recovery. It would seem that the Economics 101 story around higher education for the past few decades would go something like this: for various reasons, government has decided to increase demand for higher education massively, via increased subsidies, and in particular student loans; meanwhile, supply has not kept up. The Rule of Law, enforced by the courts, is the ultimate controlling factor on which our constitution is based. Discuss. The rule of law is one of the fundamental principles of UK s unwritten or uncodified constitution .The key idea of the rule of law is that the law should apply equally to all, rulers and ruled alike. This in the words of the 19 century constitution expert, A.V.Diecy ensures a government of law and not a government of men . The alternative to the rule of law is there for arbitrary government. Almost two centuries later, the Kokin waka shÅ« or KokinshÅ«, meaning Collection of Poems Ancient and Modern, was compiled under the imperial command of Emperor Daigo in AD 905 during the Heian Period by several well known poets like Ki no Tsurayuki. • 40. The Tempest By William Shakespeare Brown s insistence that The Tempest is a play of steeped in ambivalence and contradictions is not entirely unfounded, however. Prospero himself is an extremely powerful magus whose power borders on the transcendent and divine; he is also a man obsessed with perfecting his art that, at times, can be base and wicked. He demonstrates compassion and generosity, yet his apathetic and sometimes contemptuous treatment of other characters raises questions about his moral sensibilities. Within the drama of the play, these paradoxes create a dynamic that highlights the contrast between Prospero and those who (seek to) foil him Stephano, Trinculo, and Caliban characters that Brown demarcates as masterless or othered (273). While he correctly identifies such instances of doubling, Brown conflates these binaries as markers of colonial discourse, the colonizer and the colonized, and entirely elides the binary of the noble and the natural. This dichotomy, which is staunchly embedded in the Renaissance conception of natural order the great chain of being is eminent throughout the play and integral to its thematic purpose of restoration and redemption. Brown s failure to address the great chain of being in any capacity throughout his argument is indicative of his limited understanding of the historical context in which The Tempest was written and the corresponding philosophical ideology that informed Shakespeare s manifold intentions.
