Greater Access to the Internet Has Enabled Buyers to...
Greater access to the internet has enabled buyers to search more easily for information about potential
suppliers of goods and services. This has significantly affected many industries, such as insurance,
banking, retailing and travel. To what extent do you think that increased internet usage inevitably
reduces producers profits? Justify your answer with reference to organizations and/or industries that
you know.
Over the past decade, Shopping on the internet has skyrocketed with internet sales reaching almost
£30 billion in 2012, which accounts to almost 10% of total sales in the UK. This is due to the
increased possession of Internet devices such as: smartphones, laptops and computers. It has become

Some products would not be sold in Jessops but would be sold online resulting in losses of potential
revenue for Jessops. Another market which has slowly died is the demand for printing of photos, due
to social media websites such as Twitter and Facebook people don t need to share their photos in a
physical format and are capable of simply sending the picture via these social websites. In this case of
selling products it was a massive drawback for Jessops but turned out to be an advantage for
competitors such as Amazon. The increased number of internet users leads to benefits for Amazon
who thrive off increased internet usage due to consumers finding it a cheaper alternative to Jessops.
The internet can also be a good source of primary market research which enables firms such as
Amazon to analyze prices of different websites. This would give the opportunity for Amazon to
perhaps reduce prices or introduce offers which would help them sell more products. I believe it is
entirely up to the company, this kind of competition would perhaps not effect Amazon due to their size
in the market and their reliability where customers instantly visit Amazon knowing they will be given
a fair price and receive their purchased item quickly. However, it did affect Jessops who failed to
respond to demand and lower prices resulting in there imminent administration. I don t believe that the
increased usage of the internet reduces profits as some firms can be incredibly

Essay on I Stand Here Ironing by Tillie Olsen
I Stand Here Ironing by Tillie Olsen is a depiction of a mother daughter relationship that lacks
involvement and warmth. The whole story composed of the mother s memory of her relationship with
her daughter, Emily. The memory was a painful one comprised mostly of the way the mother was
much less able to care for Emily. The forsaken of Emily demonstrates the importance of physical and
emotional support.
The mother was an invisible parent for Emily. Her reason for not being there for Emily was because
she was a young and distracted mother (Olsen 262). The real reason she was inattentive was because
she was inexperienced. She lacks the understanding of how essential it is to be there physically for
Emily. Emily needed her mother for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Emotional support also plays an important role of Emily s well being. The idea mother suppose to
care, support, and value their children needs. Emily needed this nourishment. She needed her mother
to smile at her in order for her to feel a connection with the person that she supposed to be able to
depend on. Emily s mother did not know how to communicate with Emily. The mother daughter
relationship has an element of coldness, it lacks warmth. There were years she did not want me to
touch her (Olsen 262). Emily s mother inability to interact with her, leaves Emily unloved and in
return, she shall not express any love toward her mother. Emily s mother feels her wisdom came too
late (Olsen 262). With this thought in mind, Emily s mother shall never show communication or love
to Emily, therefore the relationship shall continue to be doomed.
Emily s mother felt like she was forced to neglect Emily. Her excuse was that the time was hard, it
was the age of depression, of war, of fear (Olsen 262). Although things were not under Emily s mother
s control, she takes responsibility anyway. In society, parents are thought to provide physical and
emotional support so that their children can advance through life with prosperity. This paper is the

Drake s Passage Is The Worst Ocean On The World
The ocean that had chased them back and made them flee for the shelter of the ice pack is the worst
ocean on the globe. (82) Drake s Passage can be considered to be the worst ocean on the globe (82) by
many. This treacherous ocean is an 800 kilometer wide gap between South america s Cape Horn and
South Shetland Island of Antarctica. What makes Drakes passage considered to be the worst on the
globe? Sailing through this passage is incredibly dangerous because of its insane winds. On the
Beaufort scale is has known to have winds from category 10 123. Drakes passage is extremely deep.
The Average depth being 11,000 feet and the deepest trench going all the way down 15,400 feet4.
Drakes passage is known to have two different moods. The first one is the drake Lake it is when the
ocean is a clear as a lake with no wind or waves just nice sailing. Normally it s the second mood the

a fun time. In 1578 there was an Explorer named Sir Francis Drake that went through the Strait of
Magellan. When he went through the Strait of Magellan he lost 4 ships. After his last ship made it
through it got pushed farther south and that s when drake realized that there is a another route for ships
further south. Then the bottleneck was named Drake Passage after him.

Comparing The Plot Scenes In Hamlet And Gregory Doran s...
William Shakespeare s Hamlet has been portrayed several times during the past centuries but what
distinguishes each piece of work is how the directors approached the play. Hamlet without doubt is a
troubled man overcome with the death of his father and the discovery that us uncle now step father
murdered his late father, the king of Denmark. Kenneth Branagh s and Gregory Doran s portrayals of
the famous closet scene demonstrates two extremes of Hamlet s relationship with his mother Gertrude.
Branagh s version of the closet scene uses bright pastel colours such as blue, pink and red to show
happiness and innocence. The use of light blue hints the youth of a child as it is often associated with
the birth of boys in today s society. The only exception is Hamlet, as he is dressed all in black. His
black clothing is not only used as a way to signify Hamlet s mourning of his father but also as a way
to represent how Hamlet himself is corrupt. This contrasts with Gertrude s appearance who is dressed
neatly in golden. Gold which symbolizes wealth and power is used to describe Gertrude s position of
power in the kingdom. Additionally, the golden dress represents purity and demonstrates how
Gertrude is oblivious to the corruption taking place in her kingdom.
On the other hand, Doran s version uses much darker tones such as dark blues, silvers and golds. The
use of silver and gold demonstrates the wealth and power the royal family has over themselves and
society while the dark blue

Eleanor Roosevelt s Role Of Women
While I spoke there was complete silence. It was striking after the pandemonium that had existed....on
several occasions [Franklin] said to others, Her speech was just right (Roosevelt 217 218). The
unprecedented amount of attention and respect given to the First Lady at the 1940 Democratic
National Committee in Chicago while she gave her speech speaks numbers to the colossal impact that
Eleanor Roosevelt had on people (Roosevelt 216 218). No other First Lady before Eleanor had taken
as many steps as she did to improve the nation. She helped to pave the way for future women,
redefining feminism and aiding in the progress of improving the lives of those in both the United
States and abroad (First Lady Biography: Eleanor Roosevelt). Coming from beginnings filled with
public service, not only did Eleanor Roosevelt drastically change the role of the First Lady, but she
also modernized the role of women in society through all stages of her life. Very early I became
conscious of the fact that there were people around me who suffered in one way or another (Roosevelt
12). Even from an early age, Eleanor surrounded herself with opportunities to serve others. This early
exposure to public service led her to continuously help others around her. When her husband, Franklin
Roosevelt was appointed Assistant Navy Secretary in 1913 under the Wilson administration, Eleanor
became actively involved with two organizations in particular working to bring aid to those in need,

The Pros And Cons Of Bisphenol A
Carcinogens in our shampoos, additives and teeth rotting ingredients in our sodas, harmful chemicals
in our plastic items... In an effort to make changes in the items we purchase and use, we opt for
products that boast better safety, and less health risks.
So what happens when a product once touted for its safety comes into question?
The Lowdown
While it was once thought that BPA free plastic products were a safer bet, research is beginning to
show that might not be the case. Bisphenol A (BPA) is an industrial chemical that has been linked to
countless health problems, from endocrine, to reproductive, to neurological issues. When evidence of
these health issues came to light, BPA free products were a seemingly easy transition. But now,
reasearchers are looking to Bisphenol S (BPS), a common alternative to BPA that s used as a
replacement in BPA free products, and finding that it might not be a good substitute either.
In an article on the topic for Prevention, writer Marygrace Taylor learned more about BPS similarities
to BPA in its structure, and in turn, its effects, from Lindsay Dahl, the deputy director of the
organization Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families. According to Dahl: The ... Show more content on

Anti Bias Curriculum For Children And Families From...
As a Family Advocate, I work with families and children from different backgrounds and cultures.
After completing the observations, anti bias curriculum is a must to reflect the cultural and
background of the families and children in the program. Many families I work with are low income.
My goal is to create an environment where children and families from different backgrounds can feel
comfortable and belonging. I would like to work closely with families and provide the support that
they may need. There are countless ways biased against low income families. A large part of the mold
is just plain incorrect. Most people believe that the poor are poor because of their own shortcomings
instead inequitable access to services and opportunities. There are litanies of stereotypes towards poor
people, such as poor people are lazy and uneducated. They are alcoholics and drug addicts. They do
not want to work and depend on social welfare system. They don t know how to teach their children
and let them run wild and dirty. Poor people don t have knowledge and good for labor but nothing
else. Other common stereotypes about the poor show that they are inattentive and, as a result, parents
are not effective. Low income parents or guardians who do not attend parent teacher meetings can
become the target of stereotyping, or worse, getting blamed by those educators. Because of these
stigmatic, even the low income also biases against themselves. They believe that they could not

The Hero In Homer s The Epic Of Gilgamesh
The Epic of Gilgamesh is one of the oldest recorded stories in literature and was written between 2000
and 1400 B.C. The main protagonist, Gilgamesh, is two thirds human and one third god. Through his
search for obtaining everlasting life, he experiences several obstacles and constantly demonstrates
heroism, even when he s near death.
The Merriam Webster Online dictionary defines the term Hero as a person, typically male, who is
admired for brave acts or fine qualities. In this sense, being a hero means a person has conquered
several great challenges and exhibits great skill. Gilgamesh faces many scenarios to prove himself as a
hero. An important example is of him defeating the treacherous monster in the Cedar Forest,
Humbaba. The citizens ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

learned about the plant of eternal life, he wanted to give it to elderly people in the kingdom to prevent

Gilgamesh became loyal and was willing to sacrifice his own life for other people. After his death, he
was celebrated for his heroic tribulations. In the text, it states, As in the dark month, the month of
shadows, so without him there is no light. O Gilgamesh, this was the meaning of your dream. You

key in creating an everlasting legacy. A hero is someone who cares about the status of his or her

Analysis Of Ashes By Susan Beth Pfeffer
In the short story called, Ashes by Susan Beth Pfeffer, the protagonist is dealing with the complicated
relationship between her divorced parents. Ashleigh, the main character, is questioned by her dad if
she can borrow her mom s money for his own problems. Ashes, short for Ashleigh, like the
compliments that she keeps receiving from her dad. Ashes complex relationship with her parents
makes her choose between her mom or her dad. One lesson this story suggests is that no matter how
much you love someone, you have to let them handle things on their own.
In the beginning of the story, the readers can understand that is Ashes talking about her parents. Her
mom is a practical person and always ready for anything, extra batteries for flashlights during a
blackout or extra coins for laundry and her dad on the other hand, is an easygoing, carefree and
willingness to help. In the story it says, ... All I can give you is dreams, Ashes. But one good dream is
worth a thousand flashlight batteries. This provides an explanation of how her dad can only give her
dreams and nothing else. He called her a name that made her feel special, something her mom did not
do, and her mom did not promise things she could not fulfill.
There is a part in the beginning of the story where Ashes, says When I was little, Dad used to promise
me the stars for a necklace, but like most of his promises, that one never quite happened. This quote
explains that he speaks more and is actionless. He has promised her things and accomplished nothing.
If he had bought her a necklace with fake stars, it would make Ashes feel like her at least cared for her.
He did not have to hype her up with hopes and then destroy them by not fulfilling it.
In the text, Ashes is constantly getting compliments that she does not believe. Her dad calls her a ..
one in a million girl. A name Ashes does not believe she lives up to. Ashes knew that was not true but
did not tell her dad anything because she loves him and does not want to hurt him. Her father keep on
complimenting her, which makes him seem warm and loving. Her father s purchase of loyalty by the
way of compliments came into play when he asks Ashes to take her mother s money from the teapot

Pride In Shakespeare s Othello
As Toba Beta once said, Pride is the mother of arrogance . Pride can cause anyone to overvalue
themselves and lose sight of the truth. In Othello s case, his pride puts himself on a pedestal. When
Iago challenges this by suggesting that Desdemona cheats on him, he slowly loses his confidence and
becomes weak and insecure. Iago vaguely warns him to not become jealous of Cassio, and Othello s
fragile ego once again causes him to let his mind get the best of him. In Shakespeare s Othello,
Othello s pride leads to his downfall in order to show that too much confidence eventually leads to
emotional self destruction. In the beginning acts, Othello is depicted as a very strong and confident
man. When Iago reveals to Othello that Brabantio is angry about his relationship with Desdemona,
Othello continues to be confident and believe that he belongs with Desdemona. Othello shows his
confidence by saying that his [...] parts, my title, and my perfect soul / Shall manifest me rightly
(I.ii.36 37). This shows that Othello has the strength to continue fighting for Desdemona, although her
father does not support the relationship. Othello s pride causes him to believe that because of his legal
status and positive personality, Brabantio will accept him as Desdemona s partner. Although he is
incorrect, his theory proves that he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Othello is strong and confident, yet allows Iago s lies to destroy him. Throughout the play, Othello s
pride and self esteem slowly diminishes because he let Iago get the best of him. Telling Othello that
Desdemona is cheating on him causes him to become insecure because he does not want to lose his
dignity. Othello s self destruction was caused by his loss of pride as the acts go on. Pride causes
people to believe they are superior, so and when something negative happens it sets them off track. It
is important to not let pride get in the way of everyday situations as it did for

Psychodynamic Disability
Abstract
Physical disability causes not only physical, but also psychological and emotional issues in people.
Some psychological effects include depression, isolation, fear, anger, and a sense of loss after a
debilitating injury. These reactions are caused by the dramatic changes in their lives, both socially and
functionally. In order to gain back the most physical function possible, a patient must first address and
cope with the psychological aspects of the disability. If a patient does not overcome each
psychological stage that accompanies the disability, it is unlikely that they will gain the same level of
function nor be as emotionally content with their life if they had done so.
A debilitating injury causes not only a lack of traditional ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first was formed from the theories of loss and grief, while the second is based on the
psychological theory of stress. The stage model was the first model used in the field of athletic
rehabilitation and is linked with the theories of loss and grief, meaning the patient feels as if they have
lost an important part of their life through the injury. (Tatsumi, 2014) The ideal psychological
condition for full recovery is one in which the injured knows of the difficulties, but controls their
emotions in order to determine what is necessary for recovery. (Tatsumi, 1998) According to Britton
W Brewer, the stage model was lacking in predictive value, and he proposed a cognitive appraisal
model as a replacement. The cognitive appraisal model was formed from the theory of cognitive
appraisal for stress and coping , the work of Richard Lazarus and Susan Folkman. In this model, the
injured person s assessment of the injury determines their emotional reaction along with their
behavioral reaction, meaning how well they will respond to rehabilitation efforts. This model is based
on cognitive behavioral therapy, and was designed to change the athletes negative views about their
injuries as well as educate and encourage them about their options in recovery. It became a common
method of speeding up the process of rehabilitation among athletes. (Tatsumi 2014) The stages of this
model include denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance, and can occur in any order. It is
crucial that they occur, and the lack of these emotions can be a sign of a potential problem. (Petitpas,
1995) Combined with grief therapy, the stage model) elicits grief to promote acceptance and true
mental recovery. In a sense, the stage model was very effective. However, the model which states that
injured athletes must overcome the grief stage in order to make

Characteristics Of Caring For Patients
Characteristics of Caring
The first characteristic of caring deals with a healing interaction between the nurse and patient that
leads to a therapeutic outcome. The outcome is therapeutic when a patient remains autonomous. Often
times, this is hindered because a person seeks out healthcare when they can no longer manage their
symptoms on their own (Lindberg, Fagerstrom, Sivberg, Willman, 2014). In order for this healing
interaction to take place, a nurse must recognize that the patient has rights to their own views, values,
and beliefs. The nurse must remain open to the patient s needs in order to accommodate them
effectively. Caring for patients by healing interactions can also be considered complete according to
Ranheim, Karner, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Examples of this include giving a patient an injection of heparin after breaking a hip or asking a co
worker to put a gown on in an isolation room. It is crucial that a nurse be competent and caring
enough to explain the purpose of what we do in a respectful manner.
Antecedents and Consequences
Antecedents
According to Brilowski Wendler (2005), the main antecedent of caring was the amount of time a nurse
has to care. High patient to staff ratios make it hard to a nurse to care for a patient in a way that
provides holistic healing. Consequently, dissatisfaction occurs for the patient and they may perceive
this lack of attention as a lack of caring from the nurse.
Consequences
Consequences to caring are generally positive. The main consequence is increased health and healing
for the patient (Brilowski Wendler, 2005). Another positive consequence is a feeling of power and
autonomy for patients. Finally, the patient s perception of the nurse is positively influenced as they are
now viewed as compassionate, competent, and respectful (Brilowski Wendler, 2005).
Cases

Check A Car Essay
When purchasing a used car, you should check several things, including how the vehicle runs. If you
do not know enough about engines, you can ask to test drive the vehicle to your mechanic or bring a
knowledgeable person with you.
Locate a vehicle and call or email the seller. Ask basic questions such as the condition of the vehicle,
about service records and if it has certain options you are interested in. If you are still interested in
purchasing the vehicle, make arrangements to test drive the vehicle. If you are purchasing from an
individual, you will have to find out when that person is available, but if you are purchasing from a
dealership, you can show up any time during the used car dealership s business hours.
Check the outside of the vehicle. Look for dents and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If the vehicle shows low mileage, especially for its age, look at the wear on the brake pedals and under
the floor mats. A vehicle with 60,000 miles on it most likely won t have a severely worn brake pedal.
If you see a severely worn brake pedal on a car with purported low mileage, be very suspicious.
Likewise with worn carpet under the floor mats. The seller or another person could have tampered
with the odometer.
Start the vehicle and listen to the engine. Listen for knocking and squeaking noises. If you do not hear
anything out of the ordinary, test drive the vehicle. Make sure the seller has enough gas in the vehicle
to drive it for at least a mile, preferably two. Some noises and problems do not appear until the vehicle
warms up.
If you are still happy with the condition of the vehicle, take a closer look at the engine. Look at the
belts to ensure there isn t excessive wear. Check the oil. The oil should be clean medium brown to
dark brown. If it is black, even if the seller insists he just changed it, it shows that oil changes have not
been done regularly. If the oil has a milky look to it, run and run fast, unless you know how to fix a

Theme Of Masculinity In If And Do Not Go Gentle
What images of masculinity appear in If and Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night? How do the
two poems compare? (30)
In both If and Do not go gentle, there is an obvious theme of masculinity flowing through both poems.
In If Rudyard Kipling has written the poem to showcase what unspoken rules you should follow to be
a good man. Many of the descriptions following very masculine stereotypes. In line four and five,
Kipling writes, If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, but make allowance for their
doubting too; . Kipling prompts the individual to preserve a sense of self even when that self is
threatened by the outside world. Nonetheless, he also advises against erring too far in the other
direction and conducting the risk of isolation, self righteousness, and ignorance. Kipling is proposing a
middle path. Rather than deciding to live life a certain one way (trusting yourself) or the other
(doubting yourself when others do), he inspires the reader to both trust yourself and allow for the
world s and your own doubts. On the other hand, Kipling may appear to be middle of the road, a
people pleaser, afraid to confront adversary. Creating his confrontation of opposition through his
writing, instead of lashing out.
Whereas in Do not go gentle , Dylan Thomas shows that men can still show emotion and have intense
feelings, but also be seen as masculine. But Thomas also says that to be good all your life could devise
regrets when on your death bed, in

The Conflict Of Science And Belief Systems, Preferential...
No one can lay claim to the past. The past belongs to everyone. Its remains are to be explored,
analyzed, shared, and documented so as to remain available for future generations. By delving into its
research, we are able to further understand those from whom we descended and more accurately place
ourselves within the timeline of the Earth. We are able to better comprehend how we have evolved as
a species every time we find new clues. While this information may be controversial to the few of the
religious extreme, it is invaluable to the entirety of the human race. In the conflict of science and
belief systems, preferential treatment should be given to advancement of scientific inquiry and of our
pool of knowledge as this has benefits for all, and to make exceptions based on belief is unjust.
Sometimes the controversy goes beyond disagreement on factual information, such as the age of
humanity or source of Earth s creation, and how we cover this information in schools. In the case of
certain American Indian groups, there has been conflict in the actual excavation of artifacts,
preventing physical evidence from being utilized for limitless amounts of scientific conclusion. There
has been disharmony in the idea of ownership and increased distrust, which is most likely in part due
to the American Indians deeply regrettable historic relationship with the United States government.
This led to the creation of the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act, which

great advice for those who are looking to come out in law enforcement as well as giving good advice
to those who may have fellow LGBT coworkers. It really shows LGBT officers options about what
they can do about coming out in their department while still ensuring a successful law enforcement
career.
Coming out can be scary for both the person coming out and the people they are telling, and Miraglia

Shoes Shoe Culture
The topic of my essay was shoes, shoe culture and its relevance in my life which in my opinion was a
solid topic to present on because it is a material object that has really shaped me my life. It was very
appropriate topic as it all related in one way or another. The effectiveness of the speech in my opinion
was minimal but I also don t believe that my topic was one that could be made very compelling
because that was not the mood I was going for. I didn t want to instill any one specific emotion in the
audience, I even tried to employ comic relief when I discussed my object.

Presidents Of The President Is A Position Of Power Essay
Being in a position of power where the public demands so much can cause multiple issues, in the case
of the US presidency illogicalities can arises. As such, the central thesis for this paper is, presidents
face contradictory expected from the public to be both decisive leaders as well as open minded
politicians in addition; too being statesman s and loyalist to their parties. What arise for the president
is a host of challenges found in congress, his party, the executive branch as well as the abilities to
make decisive choices of when to choose one side the publics perceptions over the other.
Presidents are expected to be leaders in the public eye, but the structure of the system means they have
to give up their power and allow others to lead with their own discretion. In order to do this Presidents
are expected to be flexible politicians willing to compromise and allow others use political power.
Inside the presidency discretion by lower subordinates is key because it is illogical and not practical
for presidents to micromanage the entire executive branch. In relation to the political power a
president has, [t]he president must marshal resources to persuade others to do as he wishes (Edwards
III Wayne, 2014, p. 15). A president must use his political power granted to him both formally by the
constitution and informally by laws, precedent and public opinion as well as other resources so as to
implement his agenda and lead the country in ways he sees fit.

Memoirs of a Geisha Character Journal
First Entry:
Chairman Iwamura
Dear Journal,
Today I had the most peculiar encounter. This afternoon, as I was nearing the
Minamiza Theater to see the Kabuki play, Shibaraku after lunch, I met a young girl no
older than 14 dressed in maids attire and crying in an alley along the Shirakawa Stream. I
was not thinking when I approached her for I was with two business associates and a
geisha who was accompanying us but something drew me towards her. She had not yet
noticed me until I spoke something about the day and her unhappiness. When the words
left my mouth she looked up and studied me with her beautiful grey blue eyes. I felt as if I

Months ago Sayuri came to me offering to move to New York City with our son
in order to secure my daughter s marriage. At first I was quite angry until she talked me
down and explained the benefits of this major move. She would open a tea shop and have
an apartment in the city. I could always visit her and there would be no threat of my son
to my daughter s fiancé. When I eventually agreed to Sayuri s request we were very sad
to be leaving each other but we made the preparations and she soon departed. I have
visited her a few times since her move but I cannot see her often. Tomorrow will
probably be my last visit with her before I can no longer return because of old age. As I
look back on the years I looked after her and then while being her dana I must say she is a
most extraordinary woman. Not only is the startling color of her grey eyes more beautiful
than any I have ever seen but she is also a very smart woman. I will miss her and hope
that she will prosper when I am gone.
These years have taken a toll on my mind and body and I am not the man I once was but the love that
Sayuri and I share still burns on strong. Soon

The Pros And Cons Of Viral Publicization
INTRODUCTION
Viral marketing, viral publicizing, are buzzword referring to advertising methods that use existing
social media, internet and other technologies to try to produce booms in brand awareness or to attain
other marketing objectives (such as product and service sales) through self replicating viral practices,
similar to the spread of bugs or computer viruses ( Online memes and memetics). It can be delivered
by conversation (word of mouth) or increased by the network effects of the Internet and mobile
networks. Viral publicizing is personal and, while coming from a known promoter, it does not mean
corporates pay for its circulation. Most of the known viral commercials circulating online are
advertisements paid by a known sponsor firm, launched either on their own platform (corporation
website or social media profile) or on social media web such as YouTube. Clients receive the page

The Pros And Cons Of Gold Rates
Commodities:
Putting aside a specified sum of money and expecting some kind of return out of it within a certain
time period is what financial investment is all about. Various types of financial investments are mutual
funds, fixed deposits, bonds, stock equities, real estate, gold/silver and precious stones.
Interests in stocks, gold and oil contracts are dependably thought to be the best wellspring of interest
in developing economies. Speculators of Pakistan are differentiating their speculation into gold, on the
grounds that such speculations regularly have had a converse association with stock exchange
developments. Investment in the gold is considered as the most secure investment today. There are
numerous reasons behind that but since of old customs and traditions gold is vital in this part of the
world. Gold is vital thing in any marriage work particularly in South Asia.
Gold prices/rates in Pakistan are for the most part subject to two primary elements. To begin with are
the International Gold rates. If the International Gold rates fall or rise, then the Gold rates in Pakistan

How Did French Colonize Indochina
he French wanted to counter the British and the Dutch influence in southeast china, so they invaded
Indochina. Theywanted to counter their sphere of influence. The French also wanted Indochina for its

growing in industry. Later, factories began to be built in Indochina, which allowed it to industrialize
itself and begin in producing cigarettes, textile and beer. They had some language and their population
was about 20 million. In 1945,they fell because of an agreement and some countries road to

Criticism Of The Virgin Mary
Virgin Mary is a very influential woman in Christianity, particularly in the Roman Catholic sect. She
is an example of what all women should strive to become. Historically, Mary has been viewed as a
controversial figure in feminist culture. However, the Virgin Mary should truly be considered a
feminist icon.
Many may argue that Mary is a passive character, whose only use was as a vessel. There is, however,
substantial evidence that this is completely untrue. There are many different scenarios in the Bible that
highlight Mary s strength. For example, one of the first encounters with Mary shows readers her
resilience.
In the sixth month of Elizabeth s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee,
27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin s name
was Mary. 28 The angel went to her and said, Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with
you.
29 Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30 But
the angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. 31 You will conceive
and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of
the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over
Jacob s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.
34 How will this be, Mary asked the angel, since I am a virgin?
35 The angel answered,

The Consequences Of War Peter Rubens
The Consequences of War was painted in 1638 1639 by Peter Rubens for the Medici family. Peter
Rubens was a humanist and a Northern Renaissance Flemish painter who was famous for his
mythological and historical style, unlike most Reformation artists. Peter Rubens, at the time of this
painting, was also a diplomat living in the midst of the Thirty Year s War. He used this to express his
feelings on the conflict, which were not positive. The center of attention was put on Mars, the Roman
god of war, and Venus, the Roman god of love and beauty. The Classical references used in The
Consequences of War are very direct. The veiled woman in black on the left, representing the people
of Europe, along with Venus can be seen grabbing desperately at Mars, ... Show more content on

Immediately when one looks at The Consequences of War, the dark and somber mood isn t difficult to
pick up on. The whole painting gives off an aura of the inevitability, the tragedies, and the horrors of
war. This reflects the diplomat Rubens thoughts on the issue perfectly. He believed that if war comes,
then tragedy and horror are as inevitable as God s will. The fact he reflected his beliefs in his painting
is a humanistic belief. He used his painting to cause change in the importance of diplomacy, to reform
society. The Consequences of War embodies the Renaissance belief of humanism because it was
painted by one individual who believed he could be significant in the world and cause change for the
better by using his knowledge and abilities. The way by which Peter Rubens accomplishes this in his
painting is influenced by other Renaissance beliefs. The most notable of these was his use of
mythological characters to represent the literal consequences of war rather than to paint them directly.
This is just one part of Peter Rubens use of Classicism in The Consequences of War. He distastes the
musician and the architect being tossed aside and ignored, which shows the revival of the Classical
belief of the importance of music and the arts. Furthermore, the book being crushed under Mars feet
show Rubens desire for a learned populace, which

role in this accomplishment. After all, tae kwon do truly means a lot to me.

needed to reach to this rank. Therefore, I am honored to call myself a black belt. As taken into

Analysis Of Lone Ranger And Tonto Fistfight In Heaven
In a world where assimilation is the easiest way to survive, it can be difficult to maintain two
identities. The development of characters is the foundation in which people use to grow and become
successful in their path of life. Oppression, cultural changes, and pressure to conform to the
stereotypical image of success causes discontent among cultures. Many children have an ideal image
of who they want to be, and often their parents have a conflicting view on who they would like to see
their child become. In the story Two Kinds the Narrator has a rebellious attitude towards the
aspirations of her mother. The amount of pressure placed on her and her lack of success causes
sadness in the main character since she was not able to perform the way her mother wanted. Similarly,
the main character from The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven experiences a feeling of
inferiority from the racial discrimination and lack of financial success in his life. In the story Two
Kinds the Narrator does not want to become the prodigy her mother wishes her to be. The idea of
becoming a famous actor or musician, like Shirly Temple, was a noble idea from her mother since she
only wanted to see her daughter succeed. The pressure she placed on her daughter to follow her orders
and be obedient, however, was not in the likeness of the daughter s interests. This example is evident
when the author s mother states [There are] Only two kinds of daughters, she shouted in Chinese.
Those who are obedient and those who follow their mind! Only one kind of daughter can live in this
house. (Tan 242) The fight that occurs between the narrator and her mother causes a sudden shift in
tone, which indicates that the mother no longer held the same high Johnson 2 expectation from her
daughter. Throughout the story, the main character struggles with her identity. The narrator s family

The Importance Of Happiness In My Life
Happiness to me is the feeling freedom after finally being out of debt; to be able to focus on school
instead of working 40+ hours a week. Happiness is proving all the people who doubt me and lack faith
in the fact that I m making it. Happiness is getting to buy some pants, and socks and not worry about
not having enough money to eat for the next two weeks. Happiness is making a stranger smile; filling
their empty bellies. Happiness for me is relief; a weight falling off my shoulders letting content and
joy flow in through my body. Little things make me happy; the cigarette after a long shift at work, the
full night of sleep, a shower after a fifteen hour day.
My lowest point was when I was homeless; I had just started my job and gotten out of an abusive
relationship. I made it somewhere safe and I found some stability. The thing that made me the happiest
lately was the bonuses I got from work; it wasn t a lot but it gave me hope for my future. Being a
realist has really helped me to avoid disappointment and being taken advantage of. Being ambitious
has gotten me as far as I am. I would say I am a realist versus a dreamer because of how often I was
let down and mistreated growing up; ambitious versus content because I know there s a lot more I
have to do and I know I am going to die any year, month, week, day, and time and I would have a lot
of regrets if all I did was settle for the life I have.

Aid Into Latin America And Asia Essay
had started to extend its aid into Latin America and Asia. Eleanor Roosevelt, the U.S. delegate to the
UN argued that UNICEF was a temporary group to help children after war and not that it s over the
work should be delegated to other permanent UN organizations. (Explained in more detail) Pakistan s
delegate to the UN, Ahmed Shah Bokhari, argued against Roosevelt in saying that the images of
European children after the war are the realities of children living in other regions every day. In 1950,
it was agreed that UNICEF s charter would be renewed for another 3 years, and then in 1953,
Roosevelt argued to make the organization permanent. It then decided to drop the words international
and emergency from its name, so its title then became the United Nations Children s Fund yet keeping
its full acronym as UNICEF.
In the 1950s, UNICEF spiraled into a set of mass campaigns of epidemic diseases such as
tuberculosis, yaws, trachoma, leprosy and malaria; this decade was knows as the Era of Mass Disease
Campaign . UNICEF worked to complement and help the World Health Organization, WHO. They
worked with each disease independently depending on the incredibly high amount of cases of each
illness in each region. With the help of immense advancements with technology and medicine within
the last century, UNICEF was able to effectively treat thousands even millions of cases within each
region. They re campaigns were successful in decreasing the rates of infection and malnutrition

The Characteristics Of Materialism In The American Dream
Society is buying objects we do not need, with the money we do not have, to impress people that do
not matter. The American Dream is developing into a more materialistic world, a dream in which the
dream keeps getting larger and greedier. Materialism is the tendency to think material objects are more
important than people; a desire for money over ethics. Today, life shows us that people have a desire
for newest, thinnest, updated most expensive smartphone or the more expensive lavish materials. Life
shows us that our car is undesirable now, especially when our cars do not hook up with that latest cell
phone. Life shows us unrealistic standards of a way to live, yet a huge portion of the people in society
appear to be emptying out their wallets. This materialistic culture is a show, a phony act when in
society we pretend we are what we are not. We all live in a materialistic society where the majority of
people are more worried about what we have than who we are. There is an emphasis on what brand a
person is wearing, what car someone is driving, and just how many objects one has, in general. A
person must wonder where this hunger and greed comes from and why most Americans fall
susceptible to this phenomenon, including me. Materialism is an identity crisis. A person should know
what they need, and what they can afford, but seem to have a different driving force which dictates
their life. So how come when my cell phone is not in my pocket like I thought, I go into a sense of

The first traits that you can notice on both of the highly descriptive characters is that they are both

Government Spending In The United States
With the transition of a new President and Administration one can only think of how our economy will

when there s a high level of government spending our economy blooms. We can benefit from this
because we have more move to spend and put back into the economy.

thing we would. Who would pay for the necessity things we need in order to thrive as a country. How
would we keep up with our transportation system, invest in our future or keep us from totalitarianism?
We have to have some type involvement from the government. I the 2016 election outcome came due
to the fact that a lot of people felt like President Obama and his administration implicated too many
policies that increase government spending. Such policies geared towards health care reform and
income inequality. All in which increased taxes for each individual. I think a lot of people feel like the
last eight years of government spending cost the tax payers a lot of unnecessary money. People were
paying taxed for programs they didn t support or agree with. In fiscal year 2015, the federal
government spent $3.7 trillion, amounting to 21 percent of the nation s gross domestic product (GDP).
Of that $3.7 trillion, over $3.2 trillion was financed by federal revenues. The remaining amount ($438
billion) was financed by borrowing. As the chart below shows, three major areas of spending each
make up about one fifth of the budget (Center on Budget and Policy Priorities). This article outlines

  • 2. Greater Access to the Internet Has Enabled Buyers to... Greater access to the internet has enabled buyers to search more easily for information about potential suppliers of goods and services. This has significantly affected many industries, such as insurance, banking, retailing and travel. To what extent do you think that increased internet usage inevitably reduces producers profits? Justify your answer with reference to organizations and/or industries that you know. Over the past decade, Shopping on the internet has skyrocketed with internet sales reaching almost £30 billion in 2012, which accounts to almost 10% of total sales in the UK. This is due to the increased possession of Internet devices such as: smartphones, laptops and computers. It has become much easier and simpler for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some products would not be sold in Jessops but would be sold online resulting in losses of potential revenue for Jessops. Another market which has slowly died is the demand for printing of photos, due to social media websites such as Twitter and Facebook people don t need to share their photos in a physical format and are capable of simply sending the picture via these social websites. In this case of selling products it was a massive drawback for Jessops but turned out to be an advantage for competitors such as Amazon. The increased number of internet users leads to benefits for Amazon who thrive off increased internet usage due to consumers finding it a cheaper alternative to Jessops. The internet can also be a good source of primary market research which enables firms such as Amazon to analyze prices of different websites. This would give the opportunity for Amazon to perhaps reduce prices or introduce offers which would help them sell more products. I believe it is entirely up to the company, this kind of competition would perhaps not effect Amazon due to their size in the market and their reliability where customers instantly visit Amazon knowing they will be given a fair price and receive their purchased item quickly. However, it did affect Jessops who failed to respond to demand and lower prices resulting in there imminent administration. I don t believe that the increased usage of the internet reduces profits as some firms can be incredibly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Essay on I Stand Here Ironing by Tillie Olsen I Stand Here Ironing by Tillie Olsen is a depiction of a mother daughter relationship that lacks involvement and warmth. The whole story composed of the mother s memory of her relationship with her daughter, Emily. The memory was a painful one comprised mostly of the way the mother was much less able to care for Emily. The forsaken of Emily demonstrates the importance of physical and emotional support. The mother was an invisible parent for Emily. Her reason for not being there for Emily was because she was a young and distracted mother (Olsen 262). The real reason she was inattentive was because she was inexperienced. She lacks the understanding of how essential it is to be there physically for Emily. Emily needed her mother for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Emotional support also plays an important role of Emily s well being. The idea mother suppose to care, support, and value their children needs. Emily needed this nourishment. She needed her mother to smile at her in order for her to feel a connection with the person that she supposed to be able to depend on. Emily s mother did not know how to communicate with Emily. The mother daughter relationship has an element of coldness, it lacks warmth. There were years she did not want me to touch her (Olsen 262). Emily s mother inability to interact with her, leaves Emily unloved and in return, she shall not express any love toward her mother. Emily s mother feels her wisdom came too late (Olsen 262). With this thought in mind, Emily s mother shall never show communication or love to Emily, therefore the relationship shall continue to be doomed. Emily s mother felt like she was forced to neglect Emily. Her excuse was that the time was hard, it was the age of depression, of war, of fear (Olsen 262). Although things were not under Emily s mother s control, she takes responsibility anyway. In society, parents are thought to provide physical and emotional support so that their children can advance through life with prosperity. • 6. Comparing The Plot Scenes In Hamlet And Gregory Doran s... William Shakespeare s Hamlet has been portrayed several times during the past centuries but what distinguishes each piece of work is how the directors approached the play. Hamlet without doubt is a troubled man overcome with the death of his father and the discovery that us uncle now step father murdered his late father, the king of Denmark. Kenneth Branagh s and Gregory Doran s portrayals of the famous closet scene demonstrates two extremes of Hamlet s relationship with his mother Gertrude. Branagh s version of the closet scene uses bright pastel colours such as blue, pink and red to show happiness and innocence. The use of light blue hints the youth of a child as it is often associated with the birth of boys in today s society. The only exception is Hamlet, as he is dressed all in black. His black clothing is not only used as a way to signify Hamlet s mourning of his father but also as a way to represent how Hamlet himself is corrupt. This contrasts with Gertrude s appearance who is dressed neatly in golden. Gold which symbolizes wealth and power is used to describe Gertrude s position of power in the kingdom. Additionally, the golden dress represents purity and demonstrates how Gertrude is oblivious to the corruption taking place in her kingdom. On the other hand, Doran s version uses much darker tones such as dark blues, silvers and golds. The use of silver and gold demonstrates the wealth and power the royal family has over themselves and society while the dark blue ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Eleanor Roosevelt s Role Of Women While I spoke there was complete silence. It was striking after the pandemonium that had existed....on several occasions [Franklin] said to others, Her speech was just right (Roosevelt 217 218). The unprecedented amount of attention and respect given to the First Lady at the 1940 Democratic National Committee in Chicago while she gave her speech speaks numbers to the colossal impact that Eleanor Roosevelt had on people (Roosevelt 216 218). No other First Lady before Eleanor had taken as many steps as she did to improve the nation. She helped to pave the way for future women, redefining feminism and aiding in the progress of improving the lives of those in both the United States and abroad (First Lady Biography: Eleanor Roosevelt). Coming from beginnings filled with public service, not only did Eleanor Roosevelt drastically change the role of the First Lady, but she also modernized the role of women in society through all stages of her life. Very early I became conscious of the fact that there were people around me who suffered in one way or another (Roosevelt 12). Even from an early age, Eleanor surrounded herself with opportunities to serve others. This early exposure to public service led her to continuously help others around her. When her husband, Franklin Roosevelt was appointed Assistant Navy Secretary in 1913 under the Wilson administration, Eleanor became actively involved with two organizations in particular working to bring aid to those in need, the ... • 8. The Pros And Cons Of Bisphenol A Carcinogens in our shampoos, additives and teeth rotting ingredients in our sodas, harmful chemicals in our plastic items... In an effort to make changes in the items we purchase and use, we opt for products that boast better safety, and less health risks. So what happens when a product once touted for its safety comes into question? The Lowdown While it was once thought that BPA free plastic products were a safer bet, research is beginning to show that might not be the case. Bisphenol A (BPA) is an industrial chemical that has been linked to countless health problems, from endocrine, to reproductive, to neurological issues. When evidence of these health issues came to light, BPA free products were a seemingly easy transition. But now, reasearchers are looking to Bisphenol S (BPS), a common alternative to BPA that s used as a replacement in BPA free products, and finding that it might not be a good substitute either. In an article on the topic for Prevention, writer Marygrace Taylor learned more about BPS similarities to BPA in its structure, and in turn, its effects, from Lindsay Dahl, the deputy director of the organization Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families. • 9. Anti Bias Curriculum For Children And Families From... As a Family Advocate, I work with families and children from different backgrounds and cultures. After completing the observations, anti bias curriculum is a must to reflect the cultural and background of the families and children in the program. Many families I work with are low income. My goal is to create an environment where children and families from different backgrounds can feel comfortable and belonging. I would like to work closely with families and provide the support that they may need. There are countless ways biased against low income families. A large part of the mold is just plain incorrect. Most people believe that the poor are poor because of their own shortcomings instead inequitable access to services and opportunities. There are litanies of stereotypes towards poor people, such as poor people are lazy and uneducated. They are alcoholics and drug addicts. They do not want to work and depend on social welfare system. They don t know how to teach their children and let them run wild and dirty. Poor people don t have knowledge and good for labor but nothing else. Other common stereotypes about the poor show that they are inattentive and, as a result, parents are not effective. Low income parents or guardians who do not attend parent teacher meetings can become the target of stereotyping, or worse, getting blamed by those educators. Because of these stigmatic, even the low income also biases against themselves. They believe that they could not improve ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ashleigh, the main character, is questioned by her dad if she can borrow her mom s money for his own problems. Ashes, short for Ashleigh, like the compliments that she keeps receiving from her dad. Ashes complex relationship with her parents makes her choose between her mom or her dad. One lesson this story suggests is that no matter how much you love someone, you have to let them handle things on their own. In the beginning of the story, the readers can understand that is Ashes talking about her parents. Her mom is a practical person and always ready for anything, extra batteries for flashlights during a blackout or extra coins for laundry and her dad on the other hand, is an easygoing, carefree and willingness to help. In the story it says, ... All I can give you is dreams, Ashes. But one good dream is worth a thousand flashlight batteries. This provides an explanation of how her dad can only give her dreams and nothing else. He called her a name that made her feel special, something her mom did not do, and her mom did not promise things she could not fulfill. There is a part in the beginning of the story where Ashes, says When I was little, Dad used to promise me the stars for a necklace, but like most of his promises, that one never quite happened. This quote explains that he speaks more and is actionless. In Othello s case, his pride puts himself on a pedestal. When Iago challenges this by suggesting that Desdemona cheats on him, he slowly loses his confidence and becomes weak and insecure. Iago vaguely warns him to not become jealous of Cassio, and Othello s fragile ego once again causes him to let his mind get the best of him. Some psychological effects include depression, isolation, fear, anger, and a sense of loss after a debilitating injury. In order to gain back the most physical function possible, a patient must first address and cope with the psychological aspects of the disability. The stage model was the first model used in the field of athletic rehabilitation and is linked with the theories of loss and grief, meaning the patient feels as if they have lost an important part of their life through the injury. (Tatsumi, 2014) The ideal psychological condition for full recovery is one in which the injured knows of the difficulties, but controls their emotions in order to determine what is necessary for recovery. (Tatsumi, 1998) According to Britton W Brewer, the stage model was lacking in predictive value, and he proposed a cognitive appraisal model as a replacement. The cognitive appraisal model was formed from the theory of cognitive appraisal for stress and coping , the work of Richard Lazarus and Susan Folkman. In this model, the injured person s assessment of the injury determines their emotional reaction along with their behavioral reaction, meaning how well they will respond to rehabilitation efforts. This model is based on cognitive behavioral therapy, and was designed to change the athletes negative views about their injuries as well as educate and encourage them about their options in recovery. It became a common method of speeding up the process of rehabilitation among athletes. (Tatsumi 2014) The stages of this model include denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance, and can occur in any order. It is crucial that they occur, and the lack of these emotions can be a sign of a potential problem. • 16. Characteristics Of Caring For Patients Characteristics of Caring The first characteristic of caring deals with a healing interaction between the nurse and patient that leads to a therapeutic outcome. The outcome is therapeutic when a patient remains autonomous. Often times, this is hindered because a person seeks out healthcare when they can no longer manage their symptoms on their own (Lindberg, Fagerstrom, Sivberg, Willman, 2014). In order for this healing interaction to take place, a nurse must recognize that the patient has rights to their own views, values, and beliefs. The nurse must remain open to the patient s needs in order to accommodate them effectively. It is crucial that a nurse be competent and caring enough to explain the purpose of what we do in a respectful manner. Antecedents and Consequences Antecedents According to Brilowski Wendler (2005), the main antecedent of caring was the amount of time a nurse has to care. High patient to staff ratios make it hard to a nurse to care for a patient in a way that provides holistic healing. Consequently, dissatisfaction occurs for the patient and they may perceive this lack of attention as a lack of caring from the nurse. Consequences Consequences to caring are generally positive. The main consequence is increased health and healing for the patient (Brilowski Wendler, 2005). Another positive consequence is a feeling of power and autonomy for patients. Finally, the patient s perception of the nurse is positively influenced as they are now viewed as compassionate, competent, and respectful (Brilowski Wendler, 2005). Historically, Mary has been viewed as a controversial figure in feminist culture. However, the Virgin Mary should truly be considered a feminist icon. Many may argue that Mary is a passive character, whose only use was as a vessel. There is, however, substantial evidence that this is completely untrue. There are many different scenarios in the Bible that highlight Mary s strength. For example, one of the first encounters with Mary shows readers her resilience. In the sixth month of Elizabeth s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. Similarly, the main character from The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven experiences a feeling of inferiority from the racial discrimination and lack of financial success in his life. In the story Two Kinds the Narrator does not want to become the prodigy her mother wishes her to be. The idea of becoming a famous actor or musician, like Shirly Temple, was a noble idea from her mother since she only wanted to see her daughter succeed. The pressure she placed on her daughter to follow her orders and be obedient, however, was not in the likeness of the daughter s interests. This example is evident when the author s mother states [There are] Only two kinds of daughters, she shouted in Chinese. Those who are obedient and those who follow their mind! Only one kind of daughter can live in this house. (Tan 242) The fight that occurs between the narrator and her mother causes a sudden shift in tone, which indicates that the mother no longer held the same high Johnson 2 expectation from her daughter. Throughout the story, the main character struggles with her identity. The narrator s family was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. The Importance Of Happiness In My Life Happiness to me is the feeling freedom after finally being out of debt; to be able to focus on school instead of working 40+ hours a week. Happiness is proving all the people who doubt me and lack faith in the fact that I m making it. Happiness is getting to buy some pants, and socks and not worry about not having enough money to eat for the next two weeks. Happiness is making a stranger smile; filling their empty bellies. Happiness for me is relief; a weight falling off my shoulders letting content and joy flow in through my body. Little things make me happy; the cigarette after a long shift at work, the full night of sleep, a shower after a fifteen hour day. My lowest point was when I was homeless; I had just started my job and gotten out of an abusive relationship. I made it somewhere safe and I found some stability. The thing that made me the happiest lately was the bonuses I got from work; it wasn t a lot but it gave me hope for my future. Being a realist has really helped me to avoid disappointment and being taken advantage of. Being ambitious has gotten me as far as I am. I would say I am a realist versus a dreamer because of how often I was let down and mistreated growing up; ambitious versus content because I know there s a lot more I have to do and I know I am going to die any year, month, week, day, and time and I would have a lot of regrets if all I did was settle for the life I have. In the movie, The Pursuit of Happyness Will Smith s character Chris and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Aid Into Latin America And Asia Essay had started to extend its aid into Latin America and Asia. Eleanor Roosevelt, the U.S. delegate to the UN argued that UNICEF was a temporary group to help children after war and not that it s over the work should be delegated to other permanent UN organizations. (Explained in more detail) Pakistan s delegate to the UN, Ahmed Shah Bokhari, argued against Roosevelt in saying that the images of European children after the war are the realities of children living in other regions every day. In 1950, it was agreed that UNICEF s charter would be renewed for another 3 years, and then in 1953, Roosevelt argued to make the organization permanent. It then decided to drop the words international and emergency from its name, so its title then became the United Nations Children s Fund yet keeping its full acronym as UNICEF. In the 1950s, UNICEF spiraled into a set of mass campaigns of epidemic diseases such as tuberculosis, yaws, trachoma, leprosy and malaria; this decade was knows as the Era of Mass Disease Campaign . UNICEF worked to complement and help the World Health Organization, WHO. They worked with each disease independently depending on the incredibly high amount of cases of each illness in each region. With the help of immense advancements with technology and medicine within the last century, UNICEF was able to effectively treat thousands even millions of cases within each region. They re campaigns were successful in decreasing the rates of infection and malnutrition ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. The Characteristics Of Materialism In The American Dream Society is buying objects we do not need, with the money we do not have, to impress people that do not matter. The American Dream is developing into a more materialistic world, a dream in which the dream keeps getting larger and greedier. Materialism is the tendency to think material objects are more important than people; a desire for money over ethics. Today, life shows us that people have a desire for newest, thinnest, updated most expensive smartphone or the more expensive lavish materials. Life shows us that our car is undesirable now, especially when our cars do not hook up with that latest cell phone. Life shows us unrealistic standards of a way to live, yet a huge portion of the people in society appear to be emptying out their wallets. This materialistic culture is a show, a phony act when in society we pretend we are what we are not. We all live in a materialistic society where the majority of people are more worried about what we have than who we are. There is an emphasis on what brand a person is wearing, what car someone is driving, and just how many objects one has, in general. A person must wonder where this hunger and greed comes from and why most Americans fall susceptible to this phenomenon, including me. Materialism is an identity crisis. A person should know what they need, and what they can afford, but seem to have a different driving force which dictates their life. So how come when my cell phone is not in my pocket like I thought, I go into a sense of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Two different stories with two different settings and different characters. The first story was written by a Japanese author while the second by a Chinese author. Despite the many differences in the two stories still they have one thing in common between them. Both of the authors were able to created rounded characters in their stories, as Inshiguro s characters father from A Family Supper , and Mr. Chiu from Saboteur . Because they are both hard, self centered and caring. The first traits that you can notice on both of the highly descriptive characters is that they are both hard. The way this is justified is because of the way Mr. Chiu behaved in front of the police and refusing to turn away but demanding them to apologize to him even though he knew it s not going to ... The way Inshiguro s characters father thinks that his friend watanbe did a good thing when he killed himself and took his whole family with him rather than accepting the reality that his firm collapsed and to live in shame. Also, the way he kept telling his son that he needs to come back and live with him because that is the right thing in his prospective than allowing him to stay in the USA where his likes to stay. Also, how he is trying to convince his daughter to come live with him. For Mr. Chiu situation when he thought that his bride was stupid to send a young lawyer saying What a stupid woman! Who would pay for the necessity things we need in order to thrive as a country. How would we keep up with our transportation system, invest in our future or keep us from totalitarianism? We have to have some type involvement from the government. I the 2016 election outcome came due to the fact that a lot of people felt like President Obama and his administration implicated too many policies that increase government spending. Such policies geared towards health care reform and income inequality. All in which increased taxes for each individual. I think a lot of people feel like the last eight years of government spending cost the tax payers a lot of unnecessary money. People were paying taxed for programs they didn t support or agree with.
