Why I Want To Be A Paramedic
For as long as I can remember, I have always admired the selflessness and bravery of Emergency
Medical Technicians and Paramedics. My admiration intensified when I was injured in a vehicle
accident and an Emergency Medical Technician came to my rescue. There are a plethora of reasons
why I want to become an EMT/Paramedic. For example, being in the emergency responder field
requires you to work in an unpredictable and fast paced environment and be able to be alert and ready
at any moment of the day. To some, this may seem daunting or intimidating, but to me, it is what
makes the job exciting. It means that every day on the job I will encounter different adventures and
have chances to be as heroic and helpful as the EMT who helped me on the day of my accident.
Becoming an EMT would also give me the opportunity to meet a variety of different people ... Show

I would feel good knowing that I m making what could be a scary situation a little bit better for the
people involved by comforting them and letting them know they are not alone, while also using skills,
and medicine to help them through the situation. They say in medicine, We may cure seldom, but we
can relieve often, and we should comfort always. Whether it s helping someone who is trapped in their
vehicle or providing vital care for someone as they are being rushed to a local hospital, I would be
grateful for having the opportunity to help someone else in need and potentially save their lives. It has
always been my dream to become an EMT and eventually a Paramedic and the QuickJobs Program
would be a tremendous help to me reaching these goals. If awarded this scholarship I would be able to
immerse myself in my studies to become an EMT. It would give me the opportunity to gain valuable
knowledge and learn skills that will enable me to save lives every day and make a difference in the

A Comparison Of Eulogy For Mahatma Gandhi
Extended Writing Project
Leaders.Every country has and needs them for important decisions and to help stop problems and
maintain order. Without leaders we would have nothing in society but chaos and destruction.
Leadership to people can mean many different things but to almost all people Nelson Mandela and
Mahatma Gandhi were both some of the best leaders known to man. And both of these incredible
leaders were so impactful to their country that the had stories written about them. This is what we will
be comparing and why Eulogy For Mahatma Gandhi is better than Long Walk to Freedom in
persuading the audience about which one was a greater supporter of human rights. But they both are
good in different ways. Gandhi inspired India to peacefully protest against Great Britain s rule while
Mandela became the first black president of South Africa and stopped segregation there. This will
show why Jawaharlal Nehru s Eulogy For Mahatma Gandhi is better than Nelson Mandela s Long
Walk to Freedom in persuading the reader that their person is a better supporter of human rights.
Nelson Mandela s Long Walk to Freedom is an autobiography about his life trying to abolish
segregation in South Africa. But in the Study Sync exert Mandela hardly talks about how much he did
to support human rights and it mostly talks about what state the country was in and what he thinks
about more than what he did. But from what we can get from the excerpt there is great information
about what he did to defend human right and how he did it. Mandela writes, I knew as well as I knew
anything that the oppressor must be liberated just as surely as the oppressed. This reaches out to all
people not just black people and shows that Mandela wants to help everyone not just the people who
have been enslaved or oppressed. Mandela also shares that, ...I joined the African National Congress,
and that is when the hunger for my own freedom became the greater hunger for the freedom of my
people to live their lives with dignity and self respect that animated my life, that transformed a
frightened young man into a bold one, that drove a law abiding attorney to become a criminal... This
shows that Mandela was politically active in trying to stop segregation for a

Student Athlete Identity
Homework in all my classes, two tests the next day, an essay to finish, and a soccer game in
Noblesville. This is all in one day. You miss 100% of the shots you don t take. said by the famous
Wayne Gretzky. Students all around the globe work hard to juggle being an athlete and a student
simultaneously. The foremost reason my cultural identity is centered on being a student athlete is
because it can be extremely overwhelming and the only way to stay on top of the game is to stay on
schedule. There are many different results that occur from being a student athlete such as the character
traits, and the passion that you pick up along the way. In order to be an effective student athlete not
only must a person be willing to spend the time and effort practicing, but that person must also be
prepared for all of the obstacles that can come along the way such as; stress, character flaws, and even
weak mental strength. Being a student athlete is the most prominent thing in my life, which is why it
makes up the biggest characteristic of my cultural identity. Some of you may have had first hand

When I got to high school last year, this became an concern, I began having missing assignments and
my grades started to drop dramatically, but after a month or so I started to get back on track when I
figured out a decent balance with sports. Like I said I also needed to find a way to balance a social like
with these two things as well. Because I selected soccer and decided to become a student athlete, I had
to accept the fact that I would have to miss out on some activities others around me got to do. I
realized that I would not be able to go to every party, and I was okay with that. I am still able to do
some of these things though. Like I ve mentioned it s all about finding the right

Narration Techniques Add Interest in Charles Brockden Brown s Wieland
In today s popular horror movies, one common element is that the audience always knows what is
going to happen. The main character, of course, is clueless. The girl always runs up the stairs when she
should be running out the door or into the woods when she should be running to an open area. I am
usually forced to yell in exasperation at the TV screen, always hoping that the girl will hear me.
Somehow, she never does. Even though the audience can see the masked man standing around the
corner, the blond actress running in high heels is oblivious. These are the movies that I can watch

The voices become terrifying to the reader only when they begin to affect Clara personally. As Clara is
trying to sleep one night, she is disturbed by a whisper, which, at first, appeared to proceed from lips
that were laid close to [her] ear (64). Since there is no omniscient narrator to explain where these
voices are coming from, the reader is left to rationalize the possible explanations along with Clara.
The reader follows along with the processes of Clara s mind maybe it was uttered by the girl who
lived with me as a servant, all the doors are closed and bolted at nights, maybe my imagination had
transformed some casual noise into the voice of a human creature (64 65). Just as Clara has convinced
herself that there is no one in the closet, and consequently assured the reader of the same, she hears a
second noise. Now Clara listens quietly as the voices in her closet discuss her murder. With fear
adding wings to [her] speed, Clara runs to her brother s home. For a reader who has made a
connection with the story, and especially with the narrator, this scene would probably cause personal
terror. From my own experience in reading this story, I noticed that as Clara s mind began working

The Roles of Cultural Belief Systems in Respects to Theme...
Pedro Paramo is a novel that cannot be fully understood without consideration of its rich cultural
background. It is this Mexican background, which informs so much of the novel, providing the main
conflict. The narrator of the tale remarks some villages have the smell of misfortune while describing
the locale of Pedro Parámo, the small Mexican town of Comala where the story plays out on many
levels (83). On the surface level, this story is merely about a tyranical man who ruins his hometown of
Comala. But in reality he does much more than that, his presence detroys the town completely, driving
everyone out and converting the town to a type of purgatory. This deeper harm that he causes, by
damning the rest of his townsmen is the evil ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I would walk into town to see what the uproar was about, and this is what I would see: just what we re
seing now. Nothing. No one. The streets as empty as they are now (41). The streets are always empty
in Comala. It has been left completely to ruin and is now inhabited only by the spirits of those who
once lived here. But even spirits must have a reason for staying and not going on to heaven? In
following with the Catholic faith, the people of Comala must wait in purgatory, the Refuge of Sinners
until they have repaid the sins they have committed (16). The town is a hotbed of sinning, the very
image of damnation , it is said That town sits on the coals of the earth, at the very mouth of hell. They
say that when people from there die and go to hell, they come back for a blanket (52, 6). The instances
in which people are actually able to get out are few and far between, as seen by the quote they ve gone
so far that it s easier not to come back. He s been trying and trying to leave, and I think this is the time
(56). This is owing to the abject poverty of the town, leaving people unable to pay their tithes in order
to make it to heaven. These poor soulds are not even kept in remembrance, so they may never reach
heaven. As their descendants remark we don t even make the effort to pray for them anymore, to help
them out of their purgatory (52). Pedro Páramo is a novel with a distinctly Catholic conflict, namely,

Comparison Of Anne Bradstreet s Memory Of My Dear...
A comparison of Anne Bradstreet s In Memory of My Dear Grandchild Elizabeth Bradstreet and
Edward Taylors Upon Wedlock, and Death of Children. Taylor and Bradstreet have different
relationships to their children in each of their poems. In the poems the writers explain that death, in
some way, is a natural course and compare it with the diverse aspects of nature. Both Taylor and
Bradstreet attempt to reunite the faith they have in God even when they suffer the loss of a child.
These poems seem very similar just by first glance because of the content displayed and the use of
their tone. However, they do tend to stray apart on several main ideas. Taylor resorts to a Puritan
reaction towards the tragedy of his loss, which gives the reader a feeling of pity for him as he would
be the man whom loves God and the caring father role. Conversely, Bradstreet displays her expression
of loss in a rather unique way of blame towards God. Taylor has an understanding state of mind
toward the loss of his children, but he also mourns heavily over his loss. Taylor uses a common word
throughout his poem, which is flowers. He compares his kids to flowers that are metaphorically
growing from a True Love Knot , which can also be referred to as a flower bed. He really emphasizes
the gorgeous appearance of the flowers that seem to grow in his garden in the first two stanzas of the
poem. In Taylor s poem he rejoices his marriage and the birth of his kids as a grateful and glorious
day.

Opium In China In The Late 19th Century
Around the early 19th century, China began to have many issues with a drug called opium. British
merchants longed for Chinese goods, but the Chinese did not want many of the goods that they had.
This situation caused a trade imbalance to occur between China and Britain (3). In order to pay for the
Chinese luxuries that they wanted, the British increased the production of opium in India and began to
trade Bengal opium in China (2). The Chinese empire objected to the opium trade many times, but the
demand for opium kept increasing (2). The drug caused many problems in China because much of the
population became addicted and many economic issues occurred (2). In 1839, Commissioner Lin
attempted to end the foreign trade on opium in China by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Much of Britain s food, profits, and fortunes came from Chinese goods. Chinese goods have
benefitted Britain greatly, yet Britain repaid them with the product of opium. Suppose the subject of
another country were to come to England to trade, he would certainly be required to comply with the
laws of England, then how much more does this apply to us of the celestial empire! Lin stressed to
Queen Victoria that the foreign traders must comply with the Chinese laws because of the universality
of them and out of respect and honor to the country. Many of the natives that sold and used opium
were subject to death and Lin stated that the foreign merchants deserved this same fate. Lin wanted
Queen Victoria to command her merchants to obey the Chinese laws and pleaded for her to stop the
opium trade in China. At the end of his letter, Lin asked the queen to punish the subjects that had
violated the laws and to unite the trade market in peace once more (). The purpose of Commissioner
Lin s letter was to peacefully convince Queen Victoria to stop the trade of opium in China. Lin tried to
convince the queen by stating the moral issues with opium, the obligation to follow the Chinese laws,
and by praising

The Fountain Of Youth By Juan Ponce De Leon
Humans are living longer. The average life expectancy in the world is now 70 years old and it is
growing (Roser 2016). Human life extension is the addition of life with medical technologies like
artificial life, gene therapy, and medication. Now humans are studying how to drastically extend
human life 120 years and farther. Radical life extension has been occurring throughout history without
people knowing. This has happened through the advancement in the study of medicine. With these
advancements many people wonder what will happen when there is a much larger population on the
Earth, will the access be fair for other people, and which religions will accept or try to prevent this?
Radical life extension has been human dream for a very ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Scientist have seen that telomerase expressing clones have no difference in karyotype but have a long
lifespan by 20 doublings. With this research, cells have been seen to have a very youthful looking state
for much longer. A last area of study is the hypothalamus of the brain. This part of the brain controls
reproduction, growth, metabolism, and aging. This is where many of the age related diseases occur.
The study of this area can lead to many advancements in age related diseases that can help people live
longer. Though this area of study does not have many advancements it holds promising results.
Though there have been numerous advancements, many people ask the question whether people need
to live longer because of an already over populated Earth. Since 1900 the life expectancy has doubled
at over 70 years old and it is continually growing (Our World In Data 2016). Many people ask whether
life expectancy would impact people by there being less availability to food on this over populated
Earth. Estimators say that the overpopulation of Earth is on average 8 billion people. We are already at
a population of 7.3 billion. This shows that Earth is only so big and we are quickly outgrowing it if
something is not done. This is important because it shows how radical life extension could drastically
affect the human population, maybe even over the Earth s ability to

For most NFL players, their salary is their biggest form...
For most NFL players, their salary is their biggest form of compensation. As part of the collective
bargaining agreement, the NFLPA implements something called a salary cap. A salary cap is a limit on
how much a team can spend on a particular player s salary or on a team s entire salary. Salary,
according to the agreement, is money, property, investments, loans, and anything else of value to an
NFL player (both rookies, veterans, and players with terminated contracts) but not including benefits
(CBA). It also can cover any payments made by third parties or club affiliates even if the money is for
non football services A player s base salary is the money earned while playing during the regular NFL
season. The collective bargaining ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This encourages a team to make deciding choices early on, and reduces the risk that a team will keep a
player and then cut him in favor of a new. A roster bonus deals with being on active roster during
games. If a player does not suit up , then they are not paid. These bonuses can vary by team. A roster
bonus in season is advantageous to a salary cap because it is dependent on what the player did the year
prior. If a player did not play much the year before, then the amount calculated for the salary cap is
less. If the player plays more in the future year than the past year, then the additional salary is
calculated later on in the season, instead of during the free agency period. This leaves more money
free at the beginning of the season.
Another type of bonus that is accounted in the salary cap is the bonus for offseason workouts.
Mandatory participation cannot be required, so teams offer large bonuses for players who participate
regularly. If the players participate for a certain amount, then they can receive the bonus. At the start
of the 2013 league year, the NFL implemented a cap fee of $504,000 for minimum workouts in
addition to the contracted bonuses. This means that $504,000 would be subtracted from the team
salary cap. If the players do not earn the total of this amount due to nonparticipation, then each team
will receive a

Research Paper On Thermohaline Circulation
According to Green facts the Thermohaline Circulation (THC) is the Large scale density driven
circulation in the ocean, caused by differences in temperature and salinity. The oceans water has
different salt contents and different temperatures in different areas. The colder water which is cooled
at the poles is denser so will sink below the warmer water which is less dense. Surrounding water then
moves in to fill the gap as the colder water sinks, this water is then also cooled and will itself begin to
sink this creates the current. Cooler water is usually found at the poles because as sea ice forms the
salt content of the ocean increases, because freshwater is taken away when the ice forms. The THC
circulates the globe in a long continuous circle. However if the density or salt content of water is
changed then it can potentially shut off the THC, if water becomes less saline then it won t be as dense
so may not sink and rise in the same way. One way scientists believe it could be shut off is if glaciers
and ice caps melt, this would add a huge amount of freshwater into our oceans causing it ... Show

glaciers by melting the floating ice from below. If the air temperatures increase then the ice will begin
to melt from above, creating pools of melted water that will in turn melt more of the surrounding ice.
This may not always result in a problem as it s expected that ice sheets reduce in size in the summer

sheets and glaciers are being reduced in size, adding more and more fresh water to our

The Waste Of Waste Management
Society today revolves around consumption and advancement; we are always eager to buy the latest
things on the market, then trash them when its too outdated. Our consumer habits over the years has
changed our environment and created large landfills that have no end. Garbology, by Edward Humes,
exposes the issues pertaining to trash, that society chooses to ignore and informs us on how we are the
problem and solution. The book first highlights Puente Hills, the largest landfill in America, located in
Los Angeles, California. There was a lot of debates on towards Puente Hills because although the
landfill had controversy from citizens and politicians, it was a primary source for trash disposal. The
owner Big Mike, admires the landfill calling it a work of art, but realized that the landfill imposes a lot
of danger to us and our environment. Methods such as burying, burning, and using trash as energy
supply has been tested to reduce the amount of trash in landfills. Companies such as Waste
Management Inc. (largest trash company) was responsible for dealing with trash and landfills, but
failed to emphasize recycling and reusable materials, which increased our landfills. Many suggested
power plants and moving our trash to other locations by train, but those proposals had more cons that
pros and became short lived.
The major social issues presented was over consumption that led to large landfills, overuse of plastics,
and trash in our oceans. Society as a whole face all these

. These creatures are not dangerous to humans, they are just animals who hunt other animals. This has
become established knowledge, since it has been a never ending goal to bring the wolves back and
help them flourish as they did in the early nineteenth century (Coleman, 2004). I do think that instead
of exterminating the wolf in Durham, we should find it, if it exists, and add a tracking device. It would
be a huge stepping stone in the study of this animal. This could enhance our knowledge on the species
and may even help us form an idea on how to successfully repopulate the states with the species.
Instead of the dark and biased article against the big bad wolf, this piece should take its place. The
negative feelings addressed in the article need to be replaced with positive feelings because this would
be a huge accomplishment for us if it was in fact a wolf that was sited. It would mean all of our past

gaming console scene, Microsoft and Sony, with there latest gaming consoles the
PlayStation 4 and the Xbox 1. Many people argue over witch of the consoles are better, and
I am here to prove that PlayStation 4 is better than Xbox 1.

Opponent Of The Death Penalty
Opponent of the Death Penalty
Gradually, states are abolishing the death penalty, as it has little to no effect on people involved in
dangerous crimes. Thirty nine states enforce the death penalty and nineteen states have abolished;
Personal involvement with the horrible crime of murder renders the academic arguments for or against
capital punishment (Polites). As many studies have shown, the death penalty also has little to no effect
on the crime rate in the country. Many questions people answer address whether they are supporters or
opponents of the death penalty and whether they believe it is effective to the US. Both these issues
have been ongoing debates for many years. Contrary to some thoughts, life imprisonment without
parole has had a bigger effect on inmates simply because they suffer from the feeling of guilt. The US
benefits because the cost of the death penalty cost three times more than the cost expense of prison.
One central thing about life imprisonment without parole is that they are in prison for the rest of their
lives. According to Citizens United for Alternatives to the Death Penalty, it said, In certain cases,
imprisonment should be for life, with no possibility of parole ever. For the rest of their lives, they have
to live within the strict and unsatisfactory boundaries of prison without the possibility of freedom in
the outside/ real world. This will forcibly remind the inmates of the crime they have committed and

Constructivism Essay
Empiricists and rationalists have proposed opposing theories of the acquisition of knowledge, which
appear unable to coexist. Each theory holds its own strengths but does not demonstrate a strong
argument in itself to the questions, Is knowledge truly possible? and How is true knowledge obtained?
. Immanual Kant successfully merged the two philosophies and provided a convincing argument with
his theory of empirical relativism, or what some may call constructivism. His theory bridges the gap
between rationalism and empiricism and proves that empiricists and rationalists each present a piece
of the full puzzle. In order to truly understand Kant s epistemology, one must first review and

This initiates the principle of induction, which is the assumption that the future will be like the past.
An example of this would be every time smoke is seen, one will inevitably look for the fire that is
causing the smoke. This is because based on previous experiences, it is known to be true that fire
causes smoke. One notable problem with pure empiricism is that it does rely upon reasoning. If the
concept of causality is true, there must be some form of reasoning to be able to relate one action to a
reaction. Hume s principle of induction assumes that one experience will be similar to a previous
experience under similar circumstances. It takes a measure of reasoning to assume that the previous
experience of dropping a glass would result in the same consequence when dropping a vase. To
account for this, Hume believes that reason draws connections between concepts in the mind, but it
cannot form connections between those ideas in the external world (Lawhead, 2010). Hume divided
reasoning into 2 categories: namely, relations of ideas and matters of fact. This dichotomy between
relations of ideas (which are logically necessary, but tell us nothing about the world), and matters of
fact (which tell us about the world, but which are not certain), is often called Hume s fork (Lawhead,
2011, p. 108).
Rationalism
In contrast to empiricism, rationalists claim that knowledge is gained from reasoning. It is through
reason that the

The Myth Of An Angel
An angel is defined as a spiritual being believed to act as an attendant, agent, or messenger of God,
conventionally represented in human form with wings and a long robe. This definition explains what
many people believe an angel to be. When you hear the word angel, is this what you believe them to
be, too? On the other hand, Iblis is to be defined as a jinn who refused to bow to Adam. He is believed
to entice humans and jinn to commit evil through deception. Another name for Iblis would be Satan.
When you hear either of these names, is this what you believe this figure to be? Each of these figures
also has a connotation related to them in terms of good and evil. Being considered good is defined as
to be desired or approved of or that which is morally right. On the contrary, being considered evil is
defined as profoundly immoral and malevolent. By these definitions, I am sure that you can already
make an assumption on which force is evil and which is good. Throughout Islam, each of these beings
play a major role in the history and background of the religion, along with the importance of each in
terms of the part they play related to Allah. In relation to Allah, angels have a role that is well known
as instruments of his will. In the Qur an, angels are believed to belong to the belief in the unseen, and
that they elude capture through paintings, sculptures, and TV shows. Muslims have faith and belief not
only in Allah, but also in His angels, his messengers, in His

The Importance Of Age Discrimination
Nobody will stay young forever. We all getting older whereupon our energy level diminishes. What
remains is our wisdom and experience that we can forward to the next generation. Some employers
value dynamic and flexibility and others value wisdom and experience. Working for an employer for
over 30 years while providing excellent job performance and loyalty in any aspect, it is not right to get
laid off all the sudden, only because a younger employee is replacing you. That is a terrible and awful
notion. People feel exploited and now useless just like a product that you don t need anymore. Where
is the appreciation and thankfulness for all the work delivered in the last 30 years? All forgotten? I
strongly believe it is never appropriate to discriminate based on age! We are all humans and we should
all practice humanity. Everybody deserves to be treated with respect and dignity. It is just unfair,
injustice and unreasonable to drop an employee like a hot potato after 30 years of loyalty and good job
performance. Getting older and weaker is a natural inevitable process that is nobody fault. It affects all
of us and we should act accordingly, therefore. Treating somebody unfair because of his age can
backlash to ourselves in the future. Age matters all of us.
Give examples of two situations in which you believe age discrimination is acceptable and provide an
explanation of your reasoning.

The Importance Of The Tower Of Babel
The most segregated place is Sunday service, what does that say about the God you worship? Lecrae;
Dirty Water
Too many one might think that the Tower of Babel is about God punishing people, and in a way it
was. The confusion that God placed on the people was something made to humble the people trying to
be at the same height of God. But the realities are that we have made strides in the list of human
achievements that have surpassed the height of the tower of Babel, and through that singular event,
culture had erupted onto the earth.
The shift of being like God has changed from a physical one to a psychological one. Our idea of our
ability to be god like has inflated people in our lives. From the people, we expect evil from like Hitler
and Stalin, and from people who might not be as obvious as religious leaders and people in mentoring
positions in our lives.
We don t worship for God, but for ourselves was a quote from Joel Osteen s Wife, her message is a
simple one worship God for the feelings that derive from it, not to elicit humbling praise for the grace
that God has hand delivered us.
The dislocation in the church has been something of an issue since the beginning of the church in
Acts. Steven was killed giving a list of issues that he found in the church (Acts 7), and Martin Luther,
and many other have died at the hands of the church. Yet, my statement remains; Our battle has
changed from a physical one to a psychological one.

Evolution Of The Freeway System Essay
The Evolution of the Freeway System in Los Angeles
Society has always been a continuous community of movement; trying to get from one place to
another. Commuting citizens, cargo and information has always been a significant contributor to the
economic and societal life of many municipalities. From the industrial age, society has been
progressively reliant on different transportation systems in order to accomplish trade, distribution of
supplies, tourism and so on. As the suburban sprawl continues to expand, technology advances. The
resources needed to attain successful transportation has evolved over many historical revolutions to
accommodate a growing population and the immense density of a growing city. Developments in
mechanics has permitted people to move faster with greater amount of supplies and travel longer
distances, but not without challenges. Urban planners have an outlying role in freeway development
that explains the challenges needed to be overcome to excel in successful transportation services.
Urban planners have the duty to conduct political negotiations between different levels of the
government to excel and expand our urban society. Information needed to fully understand the
evolution will demonstrate the importance and impact freeway systems have on urban and suburban
lifestyles.

Compare And Contrast Russia And The Usa
THE USSR AND THE USA
Throught our lives we are taught how The United States of America allegedly did not have any
relations with the super power, United Soviet socialist republic of Russia (USSR). As more in depth
research is done, it becomes obvious that this was not that case. It also becomes obvious that our
relationships with the soviets was soley based on geopolitical and economic needs . Looking back at
the birth, beginning and harships of the early Soviet union(1920 s) it is very clear that all this is true.

Thanks to many donations from private donars the ARA was able to increase their budget to two

Relief Adminastration was the loop hole for the USA to have unrestricted trade with the oppressive
soviet government by claiming that its sole purpose is to help the citizens suffering from the hardhsips
of dealing with the Volga Famine. At the time no one thought anything of this ,however, looking back

The Effects Of Dramatic Play On Children
Dramatic play gives children many opportunities to grow and learn. Children will learn
communication skills, physical skills and children will also be able to use imagination and be able to
be creative with their own ideas. Dramatic play can give children so many opportunities to grow
without them even knowing.
Dramatic play will help children gain communication skills just by talking with the other children. In
order for the children to play together they must listen to one another and be able to respond correctly
to the question or statement. As the article, How do Young Children Learn through Play points out,
Actual studies have demonstrated cognitive benefits such as increases in language usage including
subjunctives, future tenses, and adjectives (Sege, 2012, p.1). Children are learning even when they are
just playing we may not see it as educational, but there are many components involved in play.
Children who feel stressed or are just having a bad day may take out their anger or stress through play.
In Marie E. Cecchini article How Dramatic Play Can Enhance Learning states; They develop the skills
they need to cooperate with their peers, learn to control their impulses, and tend to be less aggressive
than children who do not engage in this type of play (Cecchini, 2008,p.1). Children who engage in
play can behave differently than they normally would because they are playing as someone else. By

The polo fields were sloped for drainage which added a new dimension to a playing surface. However
the players had to deal with differing dirt and grass playing surfaces when they played in MLB

in another way. The Yankees were extremely popular and successful during the early 1900 s. The
popularity created some of the most recognizable, household named players such as Mantle and Berra.
The football players say they weren t starstruck only because New York temas had a reputation for

Why The Nurse Interacts With A Family Managing A Chronic...
There are many factors to consider when the nurse interacts with a family managing a chronic illness.
The nurse must consider the structure of the family and how they interact while also identifying how
the family and individual with the chronic condition, manage their condition. They must identify any
risk factors that may impede their ability to manage their chronic condition or protective factors that
improve their abilities to self manage. An analysis of the developmental stage the family or individual
along with the stage of illness they are experiencing is necessary to successfully build relationships
and help guide the family through chronic illness management. Commendation of the family s efforts
and abilities to manage difficult situations revolving around illness may enhance the family s
confidence and improve self management (Wright and Leahey, 2013). These components will be
explored and discussed regarding the family structure of two sisters, R.C. and J.A. R.C. has Marfan
syndrome and J.A. is an active participant in helping her sister manage her condition. This family
structure will be discussed in relationship to their family management style, their individual and
family risk factors, and their management of R.C. s chronic condition. Contextual components will
include the lifestyle stage as defined by Wright and Leahey (2013), and the phase of chronic illness
and its developmental challenges as outline by Rolland (2005). This information was collected during

A Time When Autos Ruled
There used to be a time when Autos ruled. Asking for a price they canthink of, and with no
competition, the users were at their mercy. And then came the first round of taxi revolution with Meru
and Mega of the world started organizing the market, giving you a decent and reliable option. Though
prices were high, the commuters know them in advance and take an informed decision.
Post that, for last 2 years it is the age of offers. Backed by heavy funding and tough competition,
OLA, Taxiforsure and Genie are offering mind boggling rates for local travels, at times cheaper than
autos with the eternal worry about the service quality. Uber was still there but the prices were on
higher side and also it engulfed in unnecessary controversy.
Come Feb 2015, and Uber tried to change the dynamics of Indian taxi market the way it has shaken
the world players. By playing the pricing war and taking the battle to the competition, it has shown
that it is here to stay and is betting big on Indian market. It has reduced its prices by 40%, introduced
safety features and is offering high end services for special occasions. In most cases above 15kms, it is
likely to be the cheapest mode of travel in city except for publictransport. With the kind of comfort
and pricing, it is undoubtedly going to be the cab of choice.

Tax Reform Persuasive Speech
It amazes me to sit before parliament and witness the ignorance among my fellow noblemen, bishops,
knights, and burgesses who seem to rightfully believe the best course of action for England to take, is
to increase taxes in order to sustain a military buildup. We are some of the most well educated
individuals of this kingdom, yet many of you are so caught up in your own petulance, that you fail to
realize just how unrealizable this legislation is. England s defenses are well kept, and have proven
time and time again to be able to withstand foreign aggression. Rather than focusing on tax reform
that would only harm the hard working laborers of this nation, we should instead focus our efforts
towards maintaining low tax rates for these individuals while we continue to revive our economy.
There are few in this nation who could healthy support and pay for this tax, especially after the rise of
enclosures in 1517. The only way to do this is to underwrite princely ambition, for passion is a
dangerous trait which more often than not leads us astray from what is truly important. The current
state of England s defense is more than optimal. We have numerous castles which have withstood the

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Family
My family of origin has given me a lot of strengths. They taught me to be a strong individual who
does not crumble when faced with obstacles. My parents faced a lot of obstacles and struggled to feed
seven children, but no matter how bad it got, they never showed us how much they worried and stayed
strong. Also, they taught me to care for and help others as much as I could because someday I could
be the one who needs help. By observing my mom, I have learned not to buy things that I do not need
and that materialistic things come later in life when you are financially stable. Hard work and
dedication to one s job is something that my parents have emphasized on many occasions. However, I
have also discovered many weaknesses of my origin family. Three of the weaknesses that I will be
discussing are communication, body image and education issues. The first weakness that my family of
origin had was communication. My parents had a very hard time effectively communication their
problems. My mom would often send insults or nag instead of sitting down and discussing what issue
she was having. My father would deny he could do any wrong and lie even when he did nothing
wrong. Both of my parents would often avoid discussion or confrontation of their problems until it got
unbearable and they exploded into argument. They would name call and sometimes become physical
by pushing each other and getting into each other s faces. My dad would often try to get all the kids to
takes sides by either involving us in the argument or bribing us between fight sessions, which only
made matters worse. Both of my parents used the authoritarian parenting style that they had learned
from their parents. Because I said so, Do as your told, and I ll give you something to cry about were
frequent phrases in use. We would never sit down and discuss issues and they never explained why
they said no.
According to Jordan Young and Paul Schrodt, the earliest context in which individuals learn
communication skills is within their family of origin (Young and Schrodt, 2016, p458). This supports
how I often find myself holding in my issues to the point of wanting to yell at my partner because I
cannot discuss my problems. However, I have been very

Essay on History Impacts Intercultural Communication
History Impacts Intercultural Communication
Why would it be important to examine the role of history in Intercultural Communication?
When we examine the role of history in Intercultural Communication, we gain an understanding of
how our past influences our communication skills with people from other cultures. We need to learn
and understand why we communicate the way we do. It can be very helpful in improving our relations
with other cultures. Studying the histories of cultures that are different from ours gives us a frame of
reference that can lead to better intercultural communication. It is not only important to study the

National histories are usually recorded in some way so as to preserve them for future generations to
learn from. Typically, a nation will only teach its own history to its students and only touch upon the
histories of other nations as they pertain to our own.
How is the history of gays and lesbians relevant to intercultural communication? Whether mainstream
society likes to admit it or not, gays and lesbians have their own sub culture. It is a sub culture that has
existed since the beginning of time but has only recently been recognized as a reality. Homosexuals
have a place in the histories of every culture throughout the world. As stated in a previous paragraph,
all histories are important to intercultural communication. When we learn about and understand other
cultures we create the ability to communicate more effectively with others. The history of gays and
lesbians has a place within every culture so it is just as important to intercultural communication as
any other histories are.
How can we negotiate histories in interactions? When we interact with people from other cultures it is
important to understand that there is a history behind how they view us and how we view them. Many
cultures within our country, as well as throughout the world, have such different belief systems from
ours that if we don t make a point of learning about the history behind other belief systems

The Caterbury Tales, Carmina Burana and The Book of Taliesin
Historical Events of the Middle Ages The Middle Ages is the period in European history from the
collapse of the Roman empire in the fifth century to the period of the Renaissance in the fifteenth
century. The medieval life may, at first, appear to be bleak, harsh, and dreary. But in actuality, it was a
time of Kings, immense battles, disease and religious influence. From the devastation of the Bubonic
Plague, briefly alluded to in Geoffrey Chaucer s Canterbury Tales, to the legendary king and war hero
Arthur of Camelot. The Christian Church was the single most influential institution in society, with the
pope taking on a role as the leader of European Christendom and education and intellectual life mostly
happening through religious institutions. Through the analysis of compositions written during the
Middle Ages, it is observable that significant events influenced the pages of these notable works such
as Canterbury Tales, Carmina Burana, and The Book of Taliesin. The Canterbury Tales is the most
famous and critically acclaimed work of Geoffrey Chaucer, a late fourteenth century English poet.
Chaucer was born in London in the early 1340s, in a period of history referred to as the late Middle

My Passion For Medicine
Caring for a child in their moment of need is just one of the countless times when I felt for certain
medicine is my calling. Through volunteering as an emergency room technician and witnessing my
grandfather s decline in health, I realized that I am both passionate and enamored with medicine. I find
myself time and time again, inspired and exhilarated to observe and work with doctors, nurses, and
support staff to help people in their time of need.
My passion for medicine developed starting in the eighth grade. I received a call from my mother
saying my grandfather was being rushed to the emergency room. The doctors explained that he had
severe acute pancreatitis and was being rushed to surgery. As soon as I arrived my grandfather was
being taken into surgery. The feelings of helplessness and despair loomed over me not knowing if he
was going to survive the surgery. He spent over nine months in the intensive care unit in and out of
surgery as well as another year in and out of the hospital. After witnessing my grandfather s health
plunge it lead me to realize I want to be able to care for people and their families. Seeing the sick and
injured in the hospital made me want to take action, I wanted to make an impact and help these
people. From that point on I made a promise to myself to help others and to leave a positive impact on
them.
I went on to take a CPR(cardiopulmonary resuscitation) course which teaches what to do if someone
is in cardiac arrest. Soon after I

The Club Essay
When the club opens at eight, it s almost unrecognisable. Two large men dressed in black suits guard
the entrance, they seem friendly enough, but I m told they have a mean streak when provoked. Two
blonde twin girls sit in the kiosk, waiting to sell tickets and collect coats. A sea of people, a variety of
shapes and sizes, fill the once empty room to capacity.
Derrick, the angry barman, remains behind the bar accompanied by two companions; another man,
and a woman. Even though all three wear the same uniform, they re entirely different to one another.
The tiny built woman, with her already pale complexion, appears even paler under her mop of black
hair and black painted features. She seems friendly enough as she converses with others, ... Show

A kaleidoscope of butterflies invades my stomach the moment he turns his face towards me, our noses
touching. I gaze through my lashes, straight into the ocean pools, where I become lost to the world as I
allow myself become enthralled by Angelo s magic. He brushes his lips against my ear, caressing the
softness of my skin while his hot breath flows down my neck. Frankie will introduce you soon. Are
you going to sing that song for me again?
My heart flutters like a hummingbird in my chest, my breath becomes heavy, making me dizzy almost.
My eyes flutter closed as I lose myself in this moment with Angelo.
All too soon I hear my name being called, freeing me from captivity. I snap my eyes open to see
Frankie standing on the stage, holding his hand out towards me. I turn to face Angelo, who gazes at
me with sensual eyes.
The hummingbird in my chest beats her wings harder, desperately searching for
a way out. I have to turn away quickly before I accept the invitation to fall into his arms and kiss him
in front of Alice.
The crowd parts, allowing me access towards the stage. As I did earlier, I hold onto the rail as I ascend
the four steps, my body quivers, my breath becomes ragged. My heartbeat continues to race, but no
longer because of Angelo s advances. Now, I have a crowd of strangers to entertain, a far more
terrifying prospect than earlier, only singing for Angelo.
Frankie waits beside the microphone, gazing back

Physician-Assisted Suicide In Canada
Physician assisted suicide involves a doctor purposely and knowingly providing knowledge or means
or both, required to commit suicide by a patient or a person willing to die. Patients that suffer from
serious cancers or disease that have no cure, usually suffer the pain in hospital bed till time comes for
them to permanently be free from pain. This process offers an immediate relief to those patients.
Should physician assisted suicide be permitted in Canada? Physician assisted suicide should not be
permitted in Canada as life is God s most valuable gift to any human and by ending it, considers to be
disrespect of God and his gift of been given a human form. In fact, physician assisted suicide should
not be permitted in any country and countries ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Patients ask for this option opposed to living till the end is due to the beliefs of burden on family and
fears about future loss of function associated with increases in disability (Radtke, 2005). These leads
to patients making decision to die in early stage and face psychological issues. Decisions like such can
lead to doctors not fully trying to save and heal a patient or family members losing hope and give up.
Treatment could be possible but might take longer but seeing patients suffer the doctors might give up
due to being prompted from precious cases even if they feel to refuse assisting suicide (Stevens,

5.Is it a Global card?
Now this could be useful to you if you are an overseas traveler. A Global card can be used for paying
expenses in foreign currency just like you use a credit card to pay in rupees. Nowadays, a Global card
is being issued at the same cost as for a similar domestic one. It is better to have a global card,
especially if there is no premium attached.
6.How useful are branded or affinity cards?
A partnership between a card issuer and the non profit, social or lifestyle association is what results in
an affinity card. This is for providing financial rewards to the group or association. E.g. Citibank
Women s card, Citibank WWF cards. Citibank WWF Visa card donates a percentage of the transaction

Looking Back To School-Personal Narrative
Blind I looked at my calendar right as I woke up, and all I could read out of the blur of my phone was:
Thursday, May 2016. The entire time I was trying to make out the date on my calendar, I couldn t help
but feel as if something was off. Something didn t feel right. No matter how I felt I was determined to
go to school, I had a test in Geometry. I obviously couldn t miss it, my grades are too important to me.
So I am off to school, I missed breakfast this particular morning. I couldn t help but feel as if I ate
something it would be my last meal. Like I said, this was a weird day for me, maybe the reason I felt
funny was because I was in the mood to be dramatic. So be it. I walked out into my yard and felt this

Soon, school had ended too. The day after school ended, I was introduced to my neurologist. My
neurologist was a short, funny Jewish man. He wasn t a funny man when he ran all of these weird tests
on me, you name any test and he ran it on me. EKG s, Equilibrium test, Balance test, some other
scientific tests that if you named I would be forced to have flashbacks of. Soon, I finally got to see the
MRI of my brain. As my neurologist went through the first three layers, and as we approached to the
fourth layer, my heart immediately dropped. My face turned ghost white. I looked at my brain in
horror. There it was, a hole the size of a tiny clementine sitting on my left participle/occipital lobe. My
first thought was, Oh my god is that cancer? My next thought was, Oh my god can I still play
volleyball, what about softball? Oh lord, how am I going to tell Mrs. Mapman (My band director). My
neurologist looked amazed at what he saw, he told me that I should be partly blind! He then assured
me that this Cyst was stable, however it needed to be monitored, and that I needed to go get an MRI
yearly. This was an accidental finding, this cyst was no way, shape or form the reason why I
experience an intense dizzy spell every day. My doctor then went over all of my results from the

Influences On John Steinbeck s Literary Works
Influences on Steinbeck s Literary Works John Steinbeck was born in Salinas, California and,
according to James Ryan, the eleventh dean of the Harvard Graduate School of Education who wrote a
biography about Steinbeck, was the son of the Monterey County Treasurer and a former school
teacher. Steinbeck worked as a laborer on surrounding farms and ranches and grew up in an
agricultural community called Monterey County, and later on, made a profound impact on Steinbeck s
writing. For example, one of his novels, The Pearl; all of the protagonists were Mexicans. This is
because of the location Steinbeck would spend his vacation: working in farms and ranches surrounded
by Mexican ethnicity. Steinbeck used the places where he was raised as the settings

Dehumanization Of Women In The Handmaids Tale
To dehumanize someone is to strip them of everything that makes them human, all their good
qualities, all their basic rights, everything that can label them an individual. Similarly, in Margaret
Atwood s The Handmaid s Tale, the women in the Republic of Gilead are degraded in such a way that
they are stripped of their previous selves. Women in Gilead are outfitted by their functions, forced to
have sex and they, especially handmaids, are used as tools. In The Handmaid s Tale, Atwood utilizes
motifs to further dehumanize the women of Gilead. To begin, the Republic of Gilead outfits women
based on their function to strip them of their individuality. The process starts by colour coding women
into easily identifiable class groups. This is seen when Offred makes her way to town, narrating the
scene and drawing attention to the other women by saying, There are other women with baskets, some
in red, some in the dull green of the Marthas (Atwood 27). Women in Gilead have been colour coded
to be easily identifiable and known under their respective colours, completely erasing their identities.
Furthermore, the colours they wear identify their sole purposes to society. When Offred first
introduces Econowives she notes that ...the striped dresses, red and blue and green... Econowives, they
re called. These women are not divided into functions. They have to do everything... (Atwood 27).
The Econowives are the wives or the poorer men, wearing the medley of all three colours to

The Rise Of The Papacy
The Rise of the Papacy
Introduction
The birth or the beginnings of the Papacy is a rather difficult task to really nail down to a specific
time, place or person and also the growth of the Papacy was a rather slow and gradual process. In this
modern age Rome has been associated with the birth place of the Papacy but history shows that
Constantine moved the capital of the Roman Empire to Constantinople in the 4th century. In
Constantinople the father of the church was referred to as the Pope. The word Pope simply means
father, and in early times was used to refer to any important and respected bishop. In Rome the father
of the church was referred to as the Bishop of Rome. It is the purpose of this paper to present evidence
of the individuals that gave rise to the Papacy in the centuries between the 6th and 9th.
How and Why the Papacy in Rome became the Center of Power There are several contributing factors
that prompted the rise of the Papacy during the time name mentioned above, but the one event that
prompted this rise was the fall of the Roman Empire. When Rome was attacked by the Lombards, the
Goths and the Huns it left a trail of destruction and uncertainty. Also during this time Christian
heresies were running rampant throughout the state. The effort of Constantine and Roman Church
leaders is when the Papacy really started to gain ground and the rise to power. As historical evidence
has shown, Constantine relocated the capital of the Roman Empire to Constantinople

What Is The Tone In Killing Chicken
title A sibling is only missed once he or she has moved out. The donut isn t nearly as good when it is
being eaten, as it seems to be once it is gone. Things are easily taken for granted, as seen in Meredith
Hall s Killing Chickens. Hall incorporates her own personal stories, heartache, expirences, and family
to reveal to the reader the act and effect of underappreciation. Through short syntax, imagery, and a
distant tone, Hall shows how easy it is for things to be taken for granted. The first technique used to
show theme is short syntax. Hall reveals her vulnerability, I am killing chickens. It is my birthday. I
was awake through the nicght, reckoning with a terrible decision. When I woke this morning, the next
path was finally, achingly clear. After breakfast I saw with my children, Alex and Benjaminm and
struggled to ease the news that their father and I are divorcing. They were stunned to scilence. Though
these short, each senence carries a lot of weight. The author gives insight about the responsibility she
now has, from being totally independent to being a single mother. Hall uses this short syntax to get her
message across, and each sentence has full meaning and is impactful. But I am going to do it myself.
This is just one little thing in all the things I am going to have to learn to do alone. I have five more to
go (Hall). The impact of each sentence is clearly present, because Hall is direct in each sentence, and

Analysis Of The Ones Who Walk Away From House Of
The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas is not a utopian story, but it assumes the reader is well aware
of them. In acknowledging the foibles inherent to the genre, mainly the difficulty in describing an
ideal society in a world where such a thing is still being argued and defined, it invites the reader to
make his or her best attempt at filling in the gaps. Complicity established, the story puts a living price
tag on this beautiful ideal, asking if such a thing could be justified. Most rational observers would say
No and take the proffered option of walking away from the city, but this too is ultimately a
shortsighted choice. Omelas cannot be merely ignored, it must be destroyed and remade, a
responsibility that rests squarely on those it benefited. Described to us by a nameless narrator, Omelas
is reminiscent of many a shining city on the hill, descriptions of which can often seem cloying and
saccharine. Yet Omelas is not a place of simple folk ... noble savages, bland utopians. (Le Guin, 612.)
It is not a place that eliminates vice, but rather a place where vice does no harm. Even in the moments
when citizens are at their least controlled, they remain kind and compassionate. In Omelas there are no
offenses resulting in the instilment of guilt, because the admission of guilt, honest and consuming,
would ensure the city s destruction. Imbedded deep into the citizenry s subconscious, it is this
unspoken guilt that gives Omelas its soul. Whether an individual chooses to never

  • 2. Why I Want To Be A Paramedic For as long as I can remember, I have always admired the selflessness and bravery of Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics. My admiration intensified when I was injured in a vehicle accident and an Emergency Medical Technician came to my rescue. There are a plethora of reasons why I want to become an EMT/Paramedic. For example, being in the emergency responder field requires you to work in an unpredictable and fast paced environment and be able to be alert and ready at any moment of the day. To some, this may seem daunting or intimidating, but to me, it is what makes the job exciting. It means that every day on the job I will encounter different adventures and have chances to be as heroic and helpful as the EMT who helped me on the day of my accident. Becoming an EMT would also give me the opportunity to meet a variety of different people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 3. A Comparison Of Eulogy For Mahatma Gandhi Extended Writing Project Leaders.Every country has and needs them for important decisions and to help stop problems and maintain order. Without leaders we would have nothing in society but chaos and destruction. Leadership to people can mean many different things but to almost all people Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi were both some of the best leaders known to man. And both of these incredible leaders were so impactful to their country that the had stories written about them. This is what we will be comparing and why Eulogy For Mahatma Gandhi is better than Long Walk to Freedom in persuading the audience about which one was a greater supporter of human rights. But they both are good in different ways. Gandhi inspired India to peacefully protest against Great Britain s rule while Mandela became the first black president of South Africa and stopped segregation there. This will show why Jawaharlal Nehru s Eulogy For Mahatma Gandhi is better than Nelson Mandela s Long Walk to Freedom in persuading the reader that their person is a better supporter of human rights. Nelson Mandela s Long Walk to Freedom is an autobiography about his life trying to abolish segregation in South Africa. But in the Study Sync exert Mandela hardly talks about how much he did to support human rights and it mostly talks about what state the country was in and what he thinks about more than what he did. But from what we can get from the excerpt there is great information about what he did to defend human right and how he did it. Mandela writes, I knew as well as I knew anything that the oppressor must be liberated just as surely as the oppressed. This reaches out to all people not just black people and shows that Mandela wants to help everyone not just the people who have been enslaved or oppressed. Mandela also shares that, ...I joined the African National Congress, and that is when the hunger for my own freedom became the greater hunger for the freedom of my people to live their lives with dignity and self respect that animated my life, that transformed a frightened young man into a bold one, that drove a law abiding attorney to become a criminal... You miss 100% of the shots you don t take. said by the famous Wayne Gretzky. Students all around the globe work hard to juggle being an athlete and a student simultaneously. The foremost reason my cultural identity is centered on being a student athlete is because it can be extremely overwhelming and the only way to stay on top of the game is to stay on schedule. There are many different results that occur from being a student athlete such as the character traits, and the passion that you pick up along the way. In order to be an effective student athlete not only must a person be willing to spend the time and effort practicing, but that person must also be prepared for all of the obstacles that can come along the way such as; stress, character flaws, and even weak mental strength. It is this Mexican background, which informs so much of the novel, providing the main conflict. The narrator of the tale remarks some villages have the smell of misfortune while describing the locale of Pedro Parámo, the small Mexican town of Comala where the story plays out on many levels (83). On the surface level, this story is merely about a tyranical man who ruins his hometown of Comala. But even spirits must have a reason for staying and not going on to heaven? In following with the Catholic faith, the people of Comala must wait in purgatory, the Refuge of Sinners until they have repaid the sins they have committed (16). The town is a hotbed of sinning, the very image of damnation , it is said That town sits on the coals of the earth, at the very mouth of hell. They say that when people from there die and go to hell, they come back for a blanket (52, 6). • 7. Comparison Of Anne Bradstreet s Memory Of My Dear... A comparison of Anne Bradstreet s In Memory of My Dear Grandchild Elizabeth Bradstreet and Edward Taylors Upon Wedlock, and Death of Children. Taylor and Bradstreet have different relationships to their children in each of their poems. In the poems the writers explain that death, in some way, is a natural course and compare it with the diverse aspects of nature. Both Taylor and Bradstreet attempt to reunite the faith they have in God even when they suffer the loss of a child. These poems seem very similar just by first glance because of the content displayed and the use of their tone. However, they do tend to stray apart on several main ideas. Taylor resorts to a Puritan reaction towards the tragedy of his loss, which gives the reader a feeling of pity for him as he would be the man whom loves God and the caring father role. Conversely, Bradstreet displays her expression of loss in a rather unique way of blame towards God. Taylor has an understanding state of mind toward the loss of his children, but he also mourns heavily over his loss. Taylor uses a common word throughout his poem, which is flowers. He compares his kids to flowers that are metaphorically growing from a True Love Knot , which can also be referred to as a flower bed. He really emphasizes the gorgeous appearance of the flowers that seem to grow in his garden in the first two stanzas of the poem. In Taylor s poem he rejoices his marriage and the birth of his kids as a grateful and glorious day. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many people ask whether life expectancy would impact people by there being less availability to food on this over populated Earth. Estimators say that the overpopulation of Earth is on average 8 billion people. We are already at a population of 7.3 billion. • 10. For most NFL players, their salary is their biggest form... For most NFL players, their salary is their biggest form of compensation. As part of the collective bargaining agreement, the NFLPA implements something called a salary cap. A salary cap is a limit on how much a team can spend on a particular player s salary or on a team s entire salary. Salary, according to the agreement, is money, property, investments, loans, and anything else of value to an NFL player (both rookies, veterans, and players with terminated contracts) but not including benefits (CBA). This encourages a team to make deciding choices early on, and reduces the risk that a team will keep a player and then cut him in favor of a new. A roster bonus deals with being on active roster during games. If a player does not suit up , then they are not paid. These bonuses can vary by team. A roster bonus in season is advantageous to a salary cap because it is dependent on what the player did the year prior. If a player did not play much the year before, then the amount calculated for the salary cap is less. If the player plays more in the future year than the past year, then the additional salary is calculated later on in the season, instead of during the free agency period. This leaves more money free at the beginning of the season. Another type of bonus that is accounted in the salary cap is the bonus for offseason workouts. Mandatory participation cannot be required, so teams offer large bonuses for players who participate regularly. If the players participate for a certain amount, then they can receive the bonus. At the start of the 2013 league year, the NFL implemented a cap fee of $504,000 for minimum workouts in addition to the contracted bonuses. This means that $504,000 would be subtracted from the team salary cap. If the players do not earn the total of this amount due to nonparticipation, then each team will receive a ... • 11. Research Paper On Thermohaline Circulation According to Green facts the Thermohaline Circulation (THC) is the Large scale density driven circulation in the ocean, caused by differences in temperature and salinity. The oceans water has different salt contents and different temperatures in different areas. The colder water which is cooled at the poles is denser so will sink below the warmer water which is less dense. Surrounding water then moves in to fill the gap as the colder water sinks, this water is then also cooled and will itself begin to sink this creates the current. Cooler water is usually found at the poles because as sea ice forms the salt content of the ocean increases, because freshwater is taken away when the ice forms. The THC circulates the globe in a long continuous circle. However if the density or salt content of water is changed then it can potentially shut off the THC, if water becomes less saline then it won t be as dense so may not sink and rise in the same way. One way scientists believe it could be shut off is if glaciers and ice caps melt, this would add a huge amount of freshwater into our oceans causing it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Our consumer habits over the years has changed our environment and created large landfills that have no end. Garbology, by Edward Humes, exposes the issues pertaining to trash, that society chooses to ignore and informs us on how we are the problem and solution. The book first highlights Puente Hills, the largest landfill in America, located in Los Angeles, California. There was a lot of debates on towards Puente Hills because although the landfill had controversy from citizens and politicians, it was a primary source for trash disposal. The owner Big Mike, admires the landfill calling it a work of art, but realized that the landfill imposes a lot of danger to us and our environment. Methods such as burying, burning, and using trash as energy supply has been tested to reduce the amount of trash in landfills. Companies such as Waste Management Inc. (largest trash company) was responsible for dealing with trash and landfills, but failed to emphasize recycling and reusable materials, which increased our landfills. Many suggested power plants and moving our trash to other locations by train, but those proposals had more cons that pros and became short lived. Both these issues have been ongoing debates for many years. Contrary to some thoughts, life imprisonment without parole has had a bigger effect on inmates simply because they suffer from the feeling of guilt. The US benefits because the cost of the death penalty cost three times more than the cost expense of prison. One central thing about life imprisonment without parole is that they are in prison for the rest of their lives. An example of this would be every time smoke is seen, one will inevitably look for the fire that is causing the smoke. If the concept of causality is true, there must be some form of reasoning to be able to relate one action to a reaction. Hume s principle of induction assumes that one experience will be similar to a previous experience under similar circumstances. It takes a measure of reasoning to assume that the previous experience of dropping a glass would result in the same consequence when dropping a vase. To account for this, Hume believes that reason draws connections between concepts in the mind, but it cannot form connections between those ideas in the external world (Lawhead, 2010). Hume divided reasoning into 2 categories: namely, relations of ideas and matters of fact. This dichotomy between relations of ideas (which are logically necessary, but tell us nothing about the world), and matters of fact (which tell us about the world, but which are not certain), is often called Hume s fork (Lawhead, 2011, p. 108). Rationalism In contrast to empiricism, rationalists claim that knowledge is gained from reasoning. It is through reason that the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 20. The Myth Of An Angel An angel is defined as a spiritual being believed to act as an attendant, agent, or messenger of God, conventionally represented in human form with wings and a long robe. This definition explains what many people believe an angel to be. When you hear the word angel, is this what you believe them to be, too? On the other hand, Iblis is to be defined as a jinn who refused to bow to Adam. He is believed to entice humans and jinn to commit evil through deception. Another name for Iblis would be Satan. When you hear either of these names, is this what you believe this figure to be? Each of these figures also has a connotation related to them in terms of good and evil. Being considered good is defined as to be desired or approved of or that which is morally right. On the contrary, being considered evil is defined as profoundly immoral and malevolent. By these definitions, I am sure that you can already make an assumption on which force is evil and which is good. Throughout Islam, each of these beings play a major role in the history and background of the religion, along with the importance of each in terms of the part they play related to Allah. What remains is our wisdom and experience that we can forward to the next generation. Some employers value dynamic and flexibility and others value wisdom and experience. Working for an employer for over 30 years while providing excellent job performance and loyalty in any aspect, it is not right to get laid off all the sudden, only because a younger employee is replacing you. That is a terrible and awful notion. People feel exploited and now useless just like a product that you don t need anymore. Where is the appreciation and thankfulness for all the work delivered in the last 30 years? All forgotten? I strongly believe it is never appropriate to discriminate based on age! We are all humans and we should all practice humanity. Everybody deserves to be treated with respect and dignity. It is just unfair, injustice and unreasonable to drop an employee like a hot potato after 30 years of loyalty and good job performance. Getting older and weaker is a natural inevitable process that is nobody fault. It affects all of us and we should act accordingly, therefore. Lecrae; Dirty Water Too many one might think that the Tower of Babel is about God punishing people, and in a way it was. The confusion that God placed on the people was something made to humble the people trying to be at the same height of God. But the realities are that we have made strides in the list of human achievements that have surpassed the height of the tower of Babel, and through that singular event, culture had erupted onto the earth. The shift of being like God has changed from a physical one to a psychological one. Our idea of our ability to be god like has inflated people in our lives. From the people, we expect evil from like Hitler and Stalin, and from people who might not be as obvious as religious leaders and people in mentoring positions in our lives. We don t worship for God, but for ourselves was a quote from Joel Osteen s Wife, her message is a simple one worship God for the feelings that derive from it, not to elicit humbling praise for the grace that God has hand delivered us. The dislocation in the church has been something of an issue since the beginning of the church in Acts. • 37. Strengths And Weaknesses Of Family My family of origin has given me a lot of strengths. They taught me to be a strong individual who does not crumble when faced with obstacles. My parents faced a lot of obstacles and struggled to feed seven children, but no matter how bad it got, they never showed us how much they worried and stayed strong. Also, they taught me to care for and help others as much as I could because someday I could be the one who needs help. By observing my mom, I have learned not to buy things that I do not need and that materialistic things come later in life when you are financially stable. Hard work and dedication to one s job is something that my parents have emphasized on many occasions. However, I have also discovered many weaknesses of my origin family. Three of the weaknesses that I will be discussing are communication, body image and education issues. The first weakness that my family of origin had was communication. My parents had a very hard time effectively communication their problems. My mom would often send insults or nag instead of sitting down and discussing what issue she was having. My father would deny he could do any wrong and lie even when he did nothing wrong. Both of my parents would often avoid discussion or confrontation of their problems until it got unbearable and they exploded into argument. They would name call and sometimes become physical by pushing each other and getting into each other s faces. My dad would often try to get all the kids to takes sides by either involving us in the argument or bribing us between fight sessions, which only made matters worse. Both of my parents used the authoritarian parenting style that they had learned from their parents. Because I said so, Do as your told, and I ll give you something to cry about were frequent phrases in use. We would never sit down and discuss issues and they never explained why they said no. According to Jordan Young and Paul Schrodt, the earliest context in which individuals learn communication skills is within their family of origin (Young and Schrodt, 2016, p458). This supports how I often find myself holding in my issues to the point of wanting to yell at my partner because I cannot discuss my problems. However, I have been very ... • 39. The Caterbury Tales, Carmina Burana and The Book of Taliesin Historical Events of the Middle Ages The Middle Ages is the period in European history from the collapse of the Roman empire in the fifth century to the period of the Renaissance in the fifteenth century. The medieval life may, at first, appear to be bleak, harsh, and dreary. But in actuality, it was a time of Kings, immense battles, disease and religious influence. From the devastation of the Bubonic Plague, briefly alluded to in Geoffrey Chaucer s Canterbury Tales, to the legendary king and war hero Arthur of Camelot. The Christian Church was the single most influential institution in society, with the pope taking on a role as the leader of European Christendom and education and intellectual life mostly happening through religious institutions. Through the analysis of compositions written during the Middle Ages, it is observable that significant events influenced the pages of these notable works such as Canterbury Tales, Carmina Burana, and The Book of Taliesin. Chaucer s father became immensely wealthy when he inherited the fortune of relatives who had died in the Bubonic Plague of 1349. • 40. My Passion For Medicine Caring for a child in their moment of need is just one of the countless times when I felt for certain medicine is my calling. Through volunteering as an emergency room technician and witnessing my grandfather s decline in health, I realized that I am both passionate and enamored with medicine. I find myself time and time again, inspired and exhilarated to observe and work with doctors, nurses, and support staff to help people in their time of need. My passion for medicine developed starting in the eighth grade. I received a call from my mother saying my grandfather was being rushed to the emergency room. The doctors explained that he had severe acute pancreatitis and was being rushed to surgery. As soon as I arrived my grandfather was being taken into surgery. The feelings of helplessness and despair loomed over me not knowing if he was going to survive the surgery. He spent over nine months in the intensive care unit in and out of surgery as well as another year in and out of the hospital. After witnessing my grandfather s health plunge it lead me to realize I want to be able to care for people and their families. Seeing the sick and injured in the hospital made me want to take action, I wanted to make an impact and help these people. From that point on I made a promise to myself to help others and to leave a positive impact on them. I went on to take a CPR(cardiopulmonary resuscitation) course which teaches what to do if someone is in cardiac arrest. Soon after I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Derrick, the angry barman, remains behind the bar accompanied by two companions; another man, and a woman. Even though all three wear the same uniform, they re entirely different to one another. • 47. Dehumanization Of Women In The Handmaids Tale To dehumanize someone is to strip them of everything that makes them human, all their good qualities, all their basic rights, everything that can label them an individual. Similarly, in Margaret Atwood s The Handmaid s Tale, the women in the Republic of Gilead are degraded in such a way that they are stripped of their previous selves. Women in Gilead are outfitted by their functions, forced to have sex and they, especially handmaids, are used as tools. In The Handmaid s Tale, Atwood utilizes motifs to further dehumanize the women of Gilead. To begin, the Republic of Gilead outfits women based on their function to strip them of their individuality. The process starts by colour coding women into easily identifiable class groups. This is seen when Offred makes her way to town, narrating the scene and drawing attention to the other women by saying, There are other women with baskets, some in red, some in the dull green of the Marthas (Atwood 27). Women in Gilead have been colour coded to be easily identifiable and known under their respective colours, completely erasing their identities. Furthermore, the colours they wear identify their sole purposes to society. When Offred first introduces Econowives she notes that ...the striped dresses, red and blue and green... Econowives, they re called. These women are not divided into functions. They have to do everything... (Atwood 27). The Econowives are the wives or the poorer men, wearing the medley of all three colours to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. The Rise Of The Papacy The Rise of the Papacy Introduction The birth or the beginnings of the Papacy is a rather difficult task to really nail down to a specific time, place or person and also the growth of the Papacy was a rather slow and gradual process. In this modern age Rome has been associated with the birth place of the Papacy but history shows that Constantine moved the capital of the Roman Empire to Constantinople in the 4th century. In Constantinople the father of the church was referred to as the Pope. The word Pope simply means father, and in early times was used to refer to any important and respected bishop. In Rome the father of the church was referred to as the Bishop of Rome. It is the purpose of this paper to present evidence of the individuals that gave rise to the Papacy in the centuries between the 6th and 9th. How and Why the Papacy in Rome became the Center of Power There are several contributing factors that prompted the rise of the Papacy during the time name mentioned above, but the one event that prompted this rise was the fall of the Roman Empire. When Rome was attacked by the Lombards, the Goths and the Huns it left a trail of destruction and uncertainty. Also during this time Christian heresies were running rampant throughout the state. The effort of Constantine and Roman Church leaders is when the Papacy really started to gain ground and the rise to power. Things are easily taken for granted, as seen in Meredith Hall s Killing Chickens. Hall incorporates her own personal stories, heartache, expirences, and family to reveal to the reader the act and effect of underappreciation. Through short syntax, imagery, and a distant tone, Hall shows how easy it is for things to be taken for granted. The first technique used to show theme is short syntax. Hall reveals her vulnerability, I am killing chickens. It is my birthday. I was awake through the nicght, reckoning with a terrible decision. When I woke this morning, the next path was finally, achingly clear. After breakfast I saw with my children, Alex and Benjaminm and struggled to ease the news that their father and I are divorcing. • 50. Analysis Of The Ones Who Walk Away From House Of The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas is not a utopian story, but it assumes the reader is well aware of them. In acknowledging the foibles inherent to the genre, mainly the difficulty in describing an ideal society in a world where such a thing is still being argued and defined, it invites the reader to make his or her best attempt at filling in the gaps. Complicity established, the story puts a living price tag on this beautiful ideal, asking if such a thing could be justified. Most rational observers would say No and take the proffered option of walking away from the city, but this too is ultimately a shortsighted choice. Omelas cannot be merely ignored, it must be destroyed and remade, a responsibility that rests squarely on those it benefited. Described to us by a nameless narrator, Omelas is reminiscent of many a shining city on the hill, descriptions of which can often seem cloying and saccharine. Yet Omelas is not a place of simple folk ... noble savages, bland utopians. (Le Guin, 612.) It is not a place that eliminates vice, but rather a place where vice does no harm. Even in the moments when citizens are at their least controlled, they remain kind and compassionate. In Omelas there are no offenses resulting in the instilment of guilt, because the admission of guilt, honest and consuming, would ensure the city s destruction. Imbedded deep into the citizenry s subconscious, it is this unspoken guilt that gives Omelas its soul. Whether an individual chooses to never ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
