US Feminism In Orange Is The New Black
Orange Is the New Black is a Netflix series based off of Pieper Kerman s memoir, Orange is The New
Black: My Year in a Women s Prison. The show revolves around Piper, a woman from New York who
is sentenced to 15 months in prison in an upstate New York penitentiary. She was convicted due to
transporting drug money in a suitcase for her former girlfriend, Alex. In prison, she is reunited with
Alex and their relationship begins to be reevaluated by the both of them. Throughout the series, each
character s back story is told through flashbacks to explain how they wound up in prison or to further
develop their backstory. Not only does the show explore Piper s life in prison as well as the other
inmates, it also depicts the corruption of the U.S ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Along with that, she is the first trans actor to be nominated for an Emmy. Casting an actual trans

comes to casting, a hetero male or female portrays someone who is in the LGBTQ community. And
often times, the actor/actress casted, forces the issue. But with Orange is The New Black, casting
actual members of a community gave show realness. It provided somewhat of an insight as to what
might actually be going on with someone. Laverne has used this visibility to be an activist call

Rodeo Failure
A failure I had was when I was not able to cover my bronc in a rodeo for 8 seconds. This incident had
shown me that no matter how much you train and work for something it will never come easy. The
end goal for anything is always near but getting there may seem impossible at some points. Previously
before my ride i had trained on the mighty bucky for weeks. A machine that is run by another person
while my saddle is on it and I m on it. Even after all this training and working out, I still wasn t able to
accomplish my goal. My initial thoughts were why? I thought I did everything right and had practiced
enough for the end goal. Just to be cut short by a few seconds. Then as I started to think about it more

Edward II Film Analysis
Christopher Marlowe s Edward II was published around 1594 and in 1991 Derek Jarman produced a
film adaptation under the same title. Though these two works were produced almost four hundred
years apart, many of the themes and aesthetics from the original are able to shine through a modern
lense. The film successfully utilizes many of the original themes, motifs and characters as well as the
plot without producing a carbon copy of the play. Jarman s ability to successfully transform the text to
fit the socio political climate of his time is what sets this adaptation apart from similar works. The film
adaptation of Edward II pays homage to its roots, and yet manages to set itself apart as an independent
work of art.
Though Jarman s film is modernized, it successfully borrows political and cultural themes of the early
modern period. One of the political themes that it borrows is the idea of a ruling party deciding whom
one can be in love with. In an article analyzing various works from Christopher Marlowe, author Mark
Hutchings talks about the idea of effeminate rulers who neglect their duties are challenged and
overthrown. (Hutchings, Marlowe s Greekish strumpet ). During the early modern period, the nobility
was content with homosexual relationship if it did not interfere with their agenda. This is what is
reflected in the play when the nobles are trying to rid the kingdom of Gaveston, but not get rid of
Edward. While the original play serves to warn against distracted

dogs have been very helpful to humans. They help herders to herd their cattle and sheep, and their

It s edibility for humans is possible and it can supply many nutrients like protein, iron and zinc. In
these research, the researcher answered these specific questions: 1. Does dog food contain minerals
and nutrients? 2. Are there links to human s and dog s diet? And 3. Can it supply the human dietary
needs? For the first query, it was researched that dog food does contain several nutrients and minerals
like REAL MEAT, FISH, OR POULTRY, OMEGA FATTY ACIDS FATS, and ENERGY RICH
CARBOHYDRATES. Next, it links to human s and dog s diet because of visible similarities of some
needs of dogs and humans, like of protein, fats, vitamins, and proper hydration. Lastly, it can supply
human dietary needs as the food pyramid provides comparison on what human s and dog s need to
thrive and survive. The researcher therefor concluded that dog food may indeed serve as a feasible
food source for humans as well. It is also recommended that further studies regarding the same topic
be conducted to expand the understanding of dog food as human food

Tess Of The D Urbervilles Color Red Essay
Just as most pieces of literature, Thomas Hardy s Tess of the d Urbervilles uses different forms of
symbolism throughout the novel. A prominent symbol through the novel, red is used quite often.
Hardy uses it to foreshadow, warn, and hint at future events that are important to the theme and in the
progression of the novel. Other symbolic devices are used, but the color red s myriad of meanings has
proven it to be the best way to trace Tess s journey. The symbolism color red is first introduced in the
description of the girls whom ar attending the May Day Dance. The girls, including Tess, are wearing
various shades of white. Tess, however, is wearing one piece of red; a ribbon in her hair. The insertion
of the red ribbon in Tess s attire is, in a sense, a marker. It s a red flag, if you will, that indicates the
beginning of Tess s condemnation. Another example of the color being used to foreshadow Tess s
future pain, is in the following passage; The dialect was on her tongue to some extent, despite the
village school; the characteristic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Alec, as previously states, will come to be the bane of her existence. He will come to be intertwined
with the color red multiple times. The first time is when he and Tess are out for a stroll. He keeps
handing her flowers, giving him the illusion of having a sweet air about him, but by using red, Hardy
is able to hint at Alec s true role in Tess s life. Hardy describes that by putting on a sweet façade, Tess
is put under a blue narcotic haze. By doing so, Alec is able to keep Tess from thinking that he has the
potential to be the one who stood fair to be the blood red ray in the spectrum of her young life. The
use of red here encompasses all the horrid Alec will cause in Tess s life, specifically those in relation
to blood, such as her rape, childbirth, and other events that further sullied her

Hero In The Messenger
Task 1
Question 3: To what extent do you deem Ed to be a typical hero?
The Messenger by Markus Zusak is full of unconventional ideas and theories, one of which being a
challenge to the typical hero we see in most texts while still staying conventional. Zusak attempted to
differentiate from other novels through the main character, Ed Kennedy, using a slightly atypical
attitude and personality to the classic hero we are accustomed to without becoming overly eccentric.
There is a distinct similarity between Ed and the typical hero while still managing to create a unique
character. Some ideas and qualities that Ed has that adheres to the classic hero stereo type is his
perseverance, his quest, how he puts others before himself and his growth ... Show more content on

Each task that Ed is to complete is there to assist another person in one way or another. Each time he
does this he risks something of his and, even though he is aware of this, he continues to do so. This is
a customary trait of the stereotypical hero to put another before one s self and this is exactly what Ed
does, be it a complete stranger or one of his closest friends. He puts his life on the line, gives up his
money, time and attention all for the sake of others. He isn t required to do this, he chooses to he
thinks of others wellbeing s before his own. For example, on the assignment with Milla he gives his
time to be with her and comfort her, with the Tatupu family and Father O Reilly he spends his own
money to give them something to make them joyous and with the Rose boys and the man on Edgar
Street he risks his life in order to help people he s never met. These are actions that no ordinary person

Disney Golden Age Of Animation
1. Disney golden age of animation a) 1940
b)Though Disney films are considered wholesome and upbeat, characteristic of this era of films is their
darkness.
Though they are somewhat eerie and perhaps disturbing, scenes like these are typically sandwiched
between two more upbeat and positive scenes, creating an extreme mood shift that engages all of the
audience s emotions. This style of animation also landed the Golden Age the nickname
The Tar and Sugar Era , due to its dramatic jumps from dark to sweet . In just about every way these
films pushed the limit of filmmaking. This era also includes the first and only time that breasts were
openly shown in a Disney film, found in Fantasia.

Populism In America
Populism was valuable in how it has impacted the United States rhetoric that is still evident in the
modern day especially in the Presidential Election of 2016. For example, Bernie Sander s campaign of
protection of the 99%, and Donald Trump s rhetoric of protecting the forgotten people who are
overlooked all take inspiration from the Populist platform. Populism has had both positive and
negative influences in America, however, some aspects of Populism is found internationally in Latin
America and Europe as well. The positive aspect of Populism can be found in American policies that
safeguard protections over the citizenry. For instance, maximum hour laws and the Australian ballot
system ensures the equal opportunity every citizen in America ... Show more content on

However, this growing distrust and resentment the Populists often fell victim to gives rise to an
ethnoreligious nationalism where this resentment fuels into violence within the country. Figures such
as Donald Trump appeal to the plain people because he exemplifies the resentment and contempt
aspect of Populism by dwelling on the threats posed by outsiders . He establishes his rhetoric on the
basis of a hierarchy existing in the country and that certain groups who are true American should reap
the rewards that have been denied to them. He claims to be the mouthpiece for the common man who
has been ignored by the government and deserve to be heard. Throughout the American rhetoric,
Populism echoes the Lockean liberal thought of liberal thought of the social contract, the emphasis on
the Republic for the common person, and the patriotism stemming from Providentialism and
Ascriptive Americanism.
Overlooking such an influential style of thought would disregard the reforms Populism had inspired as
a safeguard for the common man. Further, Populism is a product of aspects of Liberalism,
Republicanism, Providentialism and Ascriptive Americanism. These elements are still influential in
modern day America, which have had both positive and negative effects on American life Populism
needs to be included as part of the United States rhetoric because of its impact on

The decision to pursue masters in engineering management...
The decision to pursue masters in engineering management has not happened suddenly. Over the past
5 years, several aspects of my studies and work built the passion and interest in the field.
I enjoyed my engineering education in general and did fairly well. However, I particularly excelled in
courses that dealt with management, communications and humanities. The following graph shows the
overall picture.
After my undergraduate studies, I decided to gain expertise in management but I also did not want to
lose my technology edge as I loved both disciplines. I got offers from Accenture (Fortune 500) and
Wipro (Top 4 IT companies in India) in my campus itself (offer letters enclosed). However, as both
were purely technical jobs, I rejected and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Russia Living Conditions
In Russia, there were some prosperous peasant farmers called kulaks, but the living and working
conditions for most peasants were dreadful. The Famine and starvation were common and in some
regions. Much of Russia land was unsuitable for farming. As a result, the land was short in supply
because, by the early 1900s, the population was growing rapidly. The peasants living conditions
contrasted sharply with those of the aristocracy, who had vast estates, town and country houses and
luxurious lifestyles. The biggest problems that Russia faced is that the Tsar did not do delegate day to
day task and he also managed his officials poorly.

Macromolecules Essay
Macromolecules rely on their environment for proper folding of their respective three dimensional
structure.10 This makes intuitive sense since the exterior, which is polar, is making contact to a polar
solvent, like the cytoplasm that provide hydrogen bonds, electrostatic interactions, and conceal the
nonpolar residues away from the polar solvent.10 The body has a stable pH and temperature that
proteins take advantage to form amazing functional complexes. They can catalyze reactions as
enzymes, transport compounds, and make complex units to reach a certain goal like ATP
synthase10.They can be dangerous as well, such as binding to receptors on cells for virus entry4.

After the addition of water they keep everything intact and functional7. Tardigrades have been able to
adapt these conditions by achieving cryptobiosis. This cryptobiosis is a state where the tardigrades can
reach a standstill in their whole metabolic processes1. The caveat is that water bears are only capable
of surviving such conditions only when they are under this suspended animation. It is at this state only
that release a protein that encapsulates them and is an extreme fort of defense1. There is a study where
this protein is isolated and expressed in E.coli to protect the enzyme lactate dehydrogenase in dry
conditions. When they added to water to the enzyme, it remained functional7 8. We plan on extracting
this microscopic invertebrates protein s, referred to as bioglass, and applying it to vaccines to preserve
the integrity of the vaccines. This will allow the ability to safely transport vaccines while keeping the
vaccines functional; no longer requiring specific storage and easy, albeit safe handling if our
hypotheses are correct. If this project were to be a success after vigorous testing of keeping these
vaccines in stable conditions, even after being exposed to the abnormal temperature, this can
revolutionize the way we handle vaccines. The cloning and expression of the protein should take no
longer than a few weeks or months by following the protocols

It also makes us closer in an odd way. My brother and I look very similar despite the three year age
gap. Whenever we go places we are always asked if we are twins. One time someone even mistook me
for my brother and congratulated me for a speech he had just done. I also have a sister named Paige.
When she was born, I was in first grade. It was one of my first major memories, I got out of school

Paige is treated like the baby of the family even at age 8. My sister and I have a pretty good
relationship. We get along most of the time and even sometimes team up on my brother. Family is
important and I m glad that I have a good one. Music I enjoy music a lot, both playing and listening.

Common Causes Of World War I
Through two world wars, there have been many similarities and differences over the course of this
time. It is easy to discuss both wars and how it changed the world, but when comparing common
causes of the war the overall common factors are the imperialism and nationalism that caused these
devastating wars to take place, along with instability both economically and politically all over the
world right before the wars took place. There is so much background history leading up to what
started both tragic wars and it is important to highlight factors like the economics and politics leading
up to the war and the economic life and politics taking place during both world wars along with the
leaders that got these wars to go from a war between a couple countries to a war affecting countries all
over the world.
Even though this was not a cause of the war it is important to note that in both World War I and in
World War II there were sides that were chosen. It was a battle of the Central Powers against the
Allies. The Central Powers were made up of Germany, the Ottoman Empire, and Austria. While the
Allies made up of Britain, France, Russia, Italy and the United States. In World War II the alliances

The Moral Of Moral Agents
Moral Agents
The moral agents in this situation are the parents, the children, and the application developer. The
parents are faced with the awkward situation of using the application to track their kids for a multitude
of reasons. One of the most apparent reasons would be to use the application with the intent of
knowing who their children are interacting with and possibly where they go when they are out of the
house. The children do have some possible choices to make regarding this supposed invasion of
privacy with varying degrees of moral standing. They could look into using applications that mask
their activity or employ the less moral route of removing the software entirely. Finally, the developer
himself is in control of the entire scenario since it all hangs on his choice of going forward with the
development of the application. After all, if he just refuses to take part in the project and takes the
consequences that follow such a choice, he is removed from the discussion entirely.
What is at stake? Who/What are the stakeholders? The most obvious stakeholder is the company that
develops the application. This company has to balance financial longevity with maintaining a moral
and legal standing in society. The primary goal of any software company is to make money and by
creating a controversial piece of software, this company is risking a potential loss of revenue in order
to be on the bleeding edge of new trends. If there is any sort of public backlash over the

trust in others and his love of Rome are his greatest faults. His tragic flaw is the trust he places in
others. Brutus is easily swayed to trust Cassius when he plots to kill Caesar. Cassius uses his cunning
to trick Brutus into believing Caesar is ambitious and that he is killing Caesar for the good of Rome.
Cassius says to Brutus, Why, man, he doth bestride the narrow world like a Colossus, and we petty
men walk under his huge legs...the fault, dear Brutus is not in our stars, but in ourselves, that we are
underlings (Shakespeare Act I. ii. 142 148). Cassius is speaking of how Caesar is becoming almost
like a tyrant or emperor in the aspect that he is becoming more powerful than everyone else. Brutus
love Rome dearly and does not want it destroyed or ruled by a tyrant or emperor. Therefore, Brutus is
manipulated by Cassius into murdering Caesar. Later on after Caesar is murdered, Antony makes a
speech that is full of irony. His speech tells of how Brutus says Caesar was an ambitious man, and that
Brutus is an honorable man. Antony says, Brutus says he was ambitious, and Brutus is an honorable
man... When the poor have cried, Caesar hath wept; ambition should be made of sterner stuff. Yet
Brutus says he was ambitious, and Brutus is an honorable man (Shakespeare Act III. ii. 95 103).

There are many areas and factors to how Russia developed into an Enlightened Absolute and

The Scheduling Of Project Management
Hypothesis: The scheduling in project management is the discipline for stating how to complete a
project within a certain timeframe, usually with defined stage, and with designated resources. The
project schedule reflects all of the work associated with delivering the project on time. It shows how
the work will progress over a period of time and takes into account factors such as limited resources
and estimating uncertainty. Without a full and complete schedule, the project manager will be unable
to communicate the complete effort, in terms of cost and resources, necessary to deliver the project.

Menstrual Hygiene A Public Health, Gender Equality, And...
The United Nations declared menstrual hygiene a public health, gender equality, and human rights
issue, but on what ground? Often times, policies are routed on or based off theoretical perspectives
from philosophers, ethicists, economists, etc. Unfortunately, not all countries agreed with the UN on
this declaration of women s right, despite women make up half of the global population. The
understanding of women s bodies is relatively new, and literature on women s rights is also relatively
new. Women in countries around the world are shamed and limited in activities they are legally and
socially permitted to do depending on their menstrual cycle. In this paper, I will agree with the UN s
declaration that menstrual hygiene management (MHM) is a public health issue, gender equality, and
human rights issue through the lens of Sen and Nussbaum s capabilities approach in addition to Jagger
s criticism of Nussbaum. Both Sen and Nussbaum agree, although somebody could have in theory, the

Professional Nursing Practice Essay
Professional nursing practice is a commitment to strong ethical values, compassion, caring with
continuous development of self and others, demonstrating a spirit of collaboration and flexibility with
accountability and responsibility for insightful practice. Professional practice ensures midwives and
nurses uphold excellence in their care delivery, continuously demonstrating and assessing their
practice, it emphases on nursing and midwifery principles, rule, authority, management, guideline, and
legislation. The vital purpose of professional practice in nursing and midwifery is to provide care with
compassion and kindness that achieves preeminent clinical results for their patients (Baumann et al.
2001). However, professional practice in nursing to my understanding means nurses being

Competence to practice is dependent upon acquisition and maintenance of specific nursing knowledge
and skills, and can be linked to individual behaviours and abilities.
Continuing Professional development is a career long process of professional growth of nurses
through the development and maintenance of continued competence within both generalist and
specialist areas of practice. CPD can be stimulated by reflection or experience and other learning
which may occur in a variety of ways including, but not limited to, formal award education programs.
Continuing professional development can be comprised of planned and organised learning activities
beyond pre registration education programs. In order to enhance the practice of nursing by both the
individual and the profession, these activities should be diverse, promote reflective practice by the
nurse, and improve and extend professional competence.

Comparing Women in Lowell’s Patterns and Sorrell’s From a...
The Struggle of Women in Lowell s Patterns and Sorrell s From a Correct Address
Woman is not born, feminist Andrea Dworkin wrote. She is made. In the making, her humanity is
destroyed. She becomes symbol of this, symbol of that: mother of the earth, slut of the universe; but
she never becomes herself because it is forbidden for her to do so. Dworkin s quote relates to women
throughout history who have been forced to conform. Although women can be regarded highly in
society, representing images of fertility, security, and beauty, many people still view them in
stereotypical ways; some people believe that all women should act a certain way, never letting their
true selves shine through. Amy Lowell s Patterns and Helen ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

On the other hand, the author also gives details to show the woman s unhappiness with her life. For
example, she writes, The daffodils and squills / Flutter in the breeze / As they please. / And I weep (22
25); these lines imply that, although she can wander in her magnificent garden, objects inside of it
cause her to feel grief because she realizes she can never be as free as the flowers.
From a Correct Address in a Suburb of a Major City parallels Patterns in the fact that it also gives
contrasting details of the woman s life. The first clue that the woman in the poem is wealthy is the
title. Since she lives not only in the suburbs, but also at a correct address, the title signifies that the
woman s household seems to be proper and wealthy. Another mention of her wealth appears in line
four when the author writes, charming, proper at cocktails (4). Attending cocktail parties is not
something a low or middle class woman normally does, so the reader infers that the woman lives an
upper class life. In contrast to these details, the author gives descriptive details of the woman s
unhappiness. For instance, immediately after the line mentioning cocktails, Sorrells describes the
woman in the poem as having her inner one raging and wondering how to hide her [inner self] (5 6).
These phrases illustrate that, although she lives a financially comfortable life, her inner

Arthur Miller s Essay Tragedy And The Common Man
In Arthur Miller s essay, Tragedy and the Common Man, Miller in fact is right about his thesis. He
believes that the common man can experience tragedy. The character who experiences the tragedy,
challenges authority; regardless if they are the common man, or a person with power. Secondly,
tragedy can be found anywhere. Even though men believe that in modern age heroes and tragedies do
not occur, there is always a possibility that the common man is able to face the worst of tragedies. One
of main events that occur in a tragic play is an event in which a tragic hero risks their life by
challenging a person in authority. It is unfair to assume that an unfortunate event in the life of a person
is insignificant due to the fact that they do not

Should Autistic Children Be Placed In Special Schools
For many years people have discussed whether autistic children or teens should be placed in regular
classes, given special aides, or if they should be placed in special classes. In the book, The Spark, by
Kristine Barnett, it talks about how Kristine s son, Jacob, otherwise known as Jake, was diagnosed
with autism at age two, yet he overcame all of the stereotypes placed on autistic children. Jacob was in
a special Ed class, but his mother pulled him out because he was not making any progress. She
decided to prepare Jacob for mainstream kindergarten, all on her own. She knew that the special Ed
class was helping him learn or retain the information being taught to him, it wasn t helping him at all,
it was hurting his education. They had focused ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They want nothing but the best for them, even if it means going out of the way. Jacobs s mother didn t
like the way the special Ed was only focusing of her son s inabilities to focus and get things done, but
when she pulled him out and decided that she would be the one to teach him she ultimately knew that
she had to concentrate on what he was able to do. She wasn t satisfied with the way the school was
teaching the special kids. I also am not satisfied with how they place autistic kids or teens in our
school system. Children with autism should be placed in classes that their parents want them to be
placed in, they shouldn t just be placed in a special class, because the school feels that they are
incapable of meeting the class standards. If the parents feel like they should be placed in regular
classes, they should be given special aides. As for teens with autism, they should be able to choose
where they want to be placed in regular courses with the help of a special aide, or if they want to be
placed in special classes. The children, teens, and parents should be the ones to decide if they should
be placed in regular classes, or special classes, not the school. At my high school I met this boy in one
of my classes, he didn t have autism however he did have a hearing aide, and he couldn t speak. He
was in one of my AP classes, he was brilliant in that subject, and he always had one of the highest
grades in the class, I also had him for a regular class, he had a special aide there to help him with that
subject. In the class he had a special aide in he used her help minimally, he did everything that he
could on his own, he only used her when we had to speak in front of the class. He was extremely

Clark V. Simpson Case Summary
Prosecutor Marcia Clark, a Deputy District Attorney, was designated as the lead prosecutor for the
trial. Deputy District Attorney Christopher A. Darden became Clark s co counsel. They opted not to
ask for the death penalty in the trial and instead sought a life sentence. Simpson hired a group of
lawyers who were nicknamed the Dream Team. They were a high profile defense team, initially led by
Robert Shapiro and later led by Johnnie Cochran. The team included F. Lee Bailey, Alan Dershowitz,
Robert Kardashian, Shawn Holley, and Carl E. Douglas. Barry Scheck and Peter Neufeld were also on

They expected a conviction. Based on the physical evidence collected at Nicole s and Simpson s
homes the prosecution claimed that Simpson drove to Nicole s house on the evening of the murder
with the intention of killing her. They composed a story of the events that happened that night. Nicole
put her two children to bed and while getting ready to go to bed herself, opened the front door of her
house after either responding to a knock on the front door or hearing a noise outside. Simpson grabbed
her before she could scream and attacked her with a knife. Forensic evidence from the Los Angeles
County coroner suggested that Ron Goldman arrived at the front gate sometime during the assault and
the assailant attacked him by stabbing him repeatedly in the neck and chest while restraining him.
Nicole was found lying face down so it is believed that the assailant, after finishing with Goldman,
pulled her head back using her hair and slit her throat with the knife, severing her carotid artery.

Comparing Henry V And St. Joan Of Arc
Henry and Joan During the scenes of Henry V and St. Joan of Arc, it is noticed that there are certain
expectations that are expected of each Joan and Henry. Each of these individuals are expected of
different things based on their genders. Joan shows that being just a girl doesn t have to determine
what you do and Henry makes it known that if you do certain things that you believe in, that you are
still a man and shouldn t listen to what other have to say and to prove them wrong. This is where both
people have similarities and differences when it comes to their gender roles. For King Henry V, he is
doubted sometimes that he is not a true man and that since he is a king he should act like one. Henry
shows and tells that when he is having a conversation with his men about being a good king and man.
He said Though it s not my place to say so, I think the king is, after all, only a man, the same as me.
The violet smells to him the same as it does to me. The sky appears to him much as it does to me, and

The Stranger, By Albert Camus
The Stranger by Albert Camus was a very interesting book that dealt with the importance of the
material world. Camus is a philosopher, and was able to express his views through Meursault, the
main character. Albert Camus has an absurdist touch in his philosophy, and this really showed through
in this work. Many of Meursault s actions reflect ideas that life is meaningless, and that sometimes the
world is just absurd and strange. This novel takes place in Algiers, in North Africa around 1940. This
is shown through the town s relationship with the Arabs, and the negative portrayal of the Arabs
throughout the novel. I thought that this book was very interesting, and almost weird in some parts due
to the strangeness of the characters actions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Web 2.0 Changed the Web Culture into a New Page
Web 2.0
Over the past 10 years, many significant changes have been taken by the appearance of the new Web
2.0 which turns the web culture into a new page. This new platform brought us a new way to share
information, connect communicate, accomplish the business transactions, and foster creativity and
cooperation among users. Instead of the dominant of web creators and the owners of web company,
the new Web 2.0 focuses more on user that allow us, varied participants, to create, design, and control
the content of the Web while deliberately interacting with other creator and sharing our thoughts, our
personal interests and our inventions. With the arrival and new dissemination of Web 2.0, the
controversy increases. Personally, Web 2.0 made the online experience more convenient, enjoyable
and free than ever before.
First and foremost, one of the most notable breakthrough of the Web 2.0 is the improvement in search
engines including Google, Yahoo, and Bing. Tim O Reiley convincingly stated about the new
experiences that Google brought into our life in his article Web 2.0: Design Patterns and Business
Models rather than providing information though selling an owner product of the older company like
Netscape, in the Web 1.0. Google, by contrast, began its life as a native Web application, never sold or
packaged, but delivered as a service, with customers paying, directly or indirectly, for the use of that
service. None of the trappings of the old software industry are present.

The Boston Tea Party Was A Fair Protest By The Colonists
Thesis:
I believe that the Boston Tea Party was a fair protest by the colonists because the King of England was
using the colonists for profit, and not treating them like real people by not listening to their outcries
for help. Thus, the Boston Tea Party was the only way to get the King s attention and bring attention to
how unfair the acts were to other colonists.
What did the Tea Act say? (1) The Tea Act said two things. First, it stated that the amount of actions
needed to go through customs would be reduced for anyone exporting tea to the British colonies as
said in the fifth paragraph of the act, ...and to export such tea to any of the British colonies or
plantations in America, or to foreign parts, discharged from the payment of any customs or duties
whatsoever; any thing in the said recited act, or any other act to the contrary notwithstanding. (SFI 1,
americanhistory.abc clio.com). This part of the act was an attempt to save the nearly bankrupt East
India Company, which had played a big role in the British victory over France in the Seven Year War
by taking over multiple French settlements. The second thing the act stated was that there would be a
new tax on the tea for the American colonists. The British thought that because the act would actually
reduce the price of tea, even with the tax, the American colonists would accept this new act. The act
backfired and actually just fueled the colonist s anger toward the British Crown as they were being

Rehtorical Analsysis of The Ugly Truth About Beauty There is a cliché quote that people say, Beauty
is in the eye of beholder. But in the essay The Ugly Truth About Beauty (1998) Dave Barry argues
about how women who spend countless hours on their so called beauty whereas men seem not to care.
Barry uses juxtaposition and exaggeration to poke fun at men and women behavior and shed light on
the harm that the beauty industry is doing. When Barry argues his point of his essay he addresses both
genders, but more specifically teenage to middle age men and women, but he writes about it in a

As for the oppsoite sex, women, would spend on average five thousand hours on their fingernails,
which in most cases go unnoticed. The only reason that women care this much about their appearance
is because of the standards that the beauty industry has set, which is very difficult to actually achieve
and causes problems for the health of women. Such as annerexia, depression and other serious health
concerns. Not only does Barry uses juxtapositon he also use exaggeration to argue his views. Barry
uses exaggeration to add a sesnse of humor to the essay. He exaggerates the Barbie doll proportions
giving her a height of seven feet and eighty one pounds with fifty three of those pounds being bosoms.
He also exaggerates mens complacency with their apperance even if their faces cause heart failure in
cattle at a range of 300 yards, and when their faces sag and their noses bloat to the size of eggplants
and their eyebrows grow together to form what appears to be a giant forehead dwelling tropical
caterpillar. With these exaggerations he shows how women are willing to try and be like something
that is very hard to achieve, even though they have already achieved their goals in the eyes of men and
others. He shows how men are careless about their appearance, even though they may look
horrendous; they care more about manly activities. As you can see Barry really used juxtaposition and

Brain and Behavior of Men and Women Essay
If we were to examine a high school calculus classroom or the staff at an engineering program of a
college or university, chances are that the male to female ratio would be significantly skewed. Why are
women and men so different in their choices and behavior? The brunt of popular opinion focuses on
the environmental cues that lead to our distinct behaviors. But is there also an innate biological basis
to the choices and differing abilities between men and women? Cognitive functioning or brain
processing differences in the two genders has been a point of interest and contention for many years.
The purpose of this essay is to explore if neuroanatomical and genetic differences between males and

Contrary to popular belief, gender and anatomical sex refer to two distinct and separate constructs as
each develops at different times and in different parts of the body. John Money coined the
phenomenon that codes for masculinity or femininity as Gendermaps (1). At a very early age and
through an interaction of both nature and nurture, this gendermap imprint is established. What makes
gender identification and sex so frequently parallel to each other is that gendermap evolvement is
notably also induced by hormones that emanate from the developing fetus (1).
Behavioral Differences:
Though there are many similarities in the cognitive abilities of men and women, there are also
discernible differences. For the most part, the behavioral differences between the intellectual
capacities of the sexes have to do more with patterns of ability than the actual intellectual capacity (3).
For one, attention and perception differ early on. Baby girls have been noted to gaze longer at objects
than baby boys. Later they rely on landmarks and memory for guidance. Boys on the other hand, have
a better visual spatial ability such as aiming at stationary or moving targets and detecting minor
movements in their visual fields more easily. The fact that males perform better in navigation seems to
agree with the possible theory that evolutionarily, many of these abilities would have been important
for survival in the time of

This incident had shown me that no matter how much you train and work for something it will never come easy. The end goal for anything is always near but getting there may seem impossible at some points. Previously before my ride i had trained on the mighty bucky for weeks. A machine that is run by another person while my saddle is on it and I m on it. Even after all this training and working out, I still wasn t able to accomplish my goal. My initial thoughts were why? I thought I did everything right and had practiced enough for the end goal. Just to be cut short by a few seconds. Then as I started to think about it more maybe there are some tasks that ... • 4. Edward II Film Analysis Christopher Marlowe s Edward II was published around 1594 and in 1991 Derek Jarman produced a film adaptation under the same title. Though these two works were produced almost four hundred years apart, many of the themes and aesthetics from the original are able to shine through a modern lense. The film successfully utilizes many of the original themes, motifs and characters as well as the plot without producing a carbon copy of the play. Jarman s ability to successfully transform the text to fit the socio political climate of his time is what sets this adaptation apart from similar works. The film adaptation of Edward II pays homage to its roots, and yet manages to set itself apart as an independent work of art. Though Jarman s film is modernized, it successfully borrows political and cultural themes of the early modern period. One of the political themes that it borrows is the idea of a ruling party deciding whom one can be in love with. In an article analyzing various works from Christopher Marlowe, author Mark Hutchings talks about the idea of effeminate rulers who neglect their duties are challenged and overthrown. (Hutchings, Marlowe s Greekish strumpet ). During the early modern period, the nobility was content with homosexual relationship if it did not interfere with their agenda. This is what is reflected in the play when the nobles are trying to rid the kingdom of Gaveston, but not get rid of Edward. While the original play serves to warn against distracted ... • 6. Tess Of The D Urbervilles Color Red Essay Just as most pieces of literature, Thomas Hardy s Tess of the d Urbervilles uses different forms of symbolism throughout the novel. A prominent symbol through the novel, red is used quite often. Hardy uses it to foreshadow, warn, and hint at future events that are important to the theme and in the progression of the novel. Other symbolic devices are used, but the color red s myriad of meanings has proven it to be the best way to trace Tess s journey. The symbolism color red is first introduced in the description of the girls whom ar attending the May Day Dance. The girls, including Tess, are wearing various shades of white. Tess, however, is wearing one piece of red; a ribbon in her hair. The insertion of the red ribbon in Tess s attire is, in a sense, a marker. It s a red flag, if you will, that indicates the beginning of Tess s condemnation. Another example of the color being used to foreshadow Tess s future pain, is in the following passage; The dialect was on her tongue to some extent, despite the village school; the characteristic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Alec, as previously states, will come to be the bane of her existence. He will come to be intertwined with the color red multiple times. The first time is when he and Tess are out for a stroll. He keeps handing her flowers, giving him the illusion of having a sweet air about him, but by using red, Hardy is able to hint at Alec s true role in Tess s life. Hardy describes that by putting on a sweet façade, Tess is put under a blue narcotic haze. By doing so, Alec is able to keep Tess from thinking that he has the potential to be the one who stood fair to be the blood red ray in the spectrum of her young life. The use of red here encompasses all the horrid Alec will cause in Tess s life, specifically those in relation to blood, such as her rape, childbirth, and other events that further sullied her ... The Messenger by Markus Zusak is full of unconventional ideas and theories, one of which being a challenge to the typical hero we see in most texts while still staying conventional. Zusak attempted to differentiate from other novels through the main character, Ed Kennedy, using a slightly atypical attitude and personality to the classic hero we are accustomed to without becoming overly eccentric. There is a distinct similarity between Ed and the typical hero while still managing to create a unique character. Some ideas and qualities that Ed has that adheres to the classic hero stereo type is his perseverance, his quest, how he puts others before himself and his growth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Each task that Ed is to complete is there to assist another person in one way or another. He puts his life on the line, gives up his money, time and attention all for the sake of others. He isn t required to do this, he chooses to he thinks of others wellbeing s before his own. Though they are somewhat eerie and perhaps disturbing, scenes like these are typically sandwiched between two more upbeat and positive scenes, creating an extreme mood shift that engages all of the audience s emotions. This style of animation also landed the Golden Age the nickname The Tar and Sugar Era , due to its dramatic jumps from dark to sweet . Populism has had both positive and negative influences in America, however, some aspects of Populism is found internationally in Latin America and Europe as well. He establishes his rhetoric on the basis of a hierarchy existing in the country and that certain groups who are true American should reap the rewards that have been denied to them. However, I particularly excelled in courses that dealt with management, communications and humanities. The following graph shows the overall picture. After my undergraduate studies, I decided to gain expertise in management but I also did not want to lose my technology edge as I loved both disciplines. The Famine and starvation were common and in some regions. Much of Russia land was unsuitable for farming. As a result, the land was short in supply because, by the early 1900s, the population was growing rapidly. The peasants living conditions contrasted sharply with those of the aristocracy, who had vast estates, town and country houses and luxurious lifestyles. It sucks sometimes but It also makes us closer in an odd way. My brother and I look very similar despite the three year age gap. Whenever we go places we are always asked if we are twins. One time someone even mistook me for my brother and congratulated me for a speech he had just done. I also have a sister named Paige. When she was born, I was in first grade. • 15. Common Causes Of World War I Through two world wars, there have been many similarities and differences over the course of this time. It is easy to discuss both wars and how it changed the world, but when comparing common causes of the war the overall common factors are the imperialism and nationalism that caused these devastating wars to take place, along with instability both economically and politically all over the world right before the wars took place. There is so much background history leading up to what started both tragic wars and it is important to highlight factors like the economics and politics leading up to the war and the economic life and politics taking place during both world wars along with the leaders that got these wars to go from a war between a couple countries to a war affecting countries all over the world. The parents are faced with the awkward situation of using the application to track their kids for a multitude of reasons. One of the most apparent reasons would be to use the application with the intent of knowing who their children are interacting with and possibly where they go when they are out of the house. The children do have some possible choices to make regarding this supposed invasion of privacy with varying degrees of moral standing. They could look into using applications that mask their activity or employ the less moral route of removing the software entirely. Finally, the developer himself is in control of the entire scenario since it all hangs on his choice of going forward with the development of the application. After all, if he just refuses to take part in the project and takes the consequences that follow such a choice, he is removed from the discussion entirely. What is at stake? Who/What are the stakeholders? The most obvious stakeholder is the company that develops the application. This company has to balance financial longevity with maintaining a moral and legal standing in society. Brutus trust in others and his love of Rome are his greatest faults. His tragic flaw is the trust he places in others. Brutus is easily swayed to trust Cassius when he plots to kill Caesar. Cassius uses his cunning to trick Brutus into believing Caesar is ambitious and that he is killing Caesar for the good of Rome. Cassius says to Brutus, Why, man, he doth bestride the narrow world like a Colossus, and we petty men walk under his huge legs...the fault, dear Brutus is not in our stars, but in ourselves, that we are underlings (Shakespeare Act I. ii. 142 148). Cassius is speaking of how Caesar is becoming almost like a tyrant or emperor in the aspect that he is becoming more powerful than everyone else. Brutus love Rome dearly and does not want it destroyed or ruled by a tyrant or emperor. Therefore, Brutus is manipulated by Cassius into murdering Caesar. Later on after Caesar is murdered, Antony makes a speech that is full of irony. His speech tells of how Brutus says Caesar was an ambitious man, and that Brutus is an honorable man. Antony says, Brutus says he was ambitious, and Brutus is an honorable man... When the poor have cried, Caesar hath wept; ambition should be made of sterner stuff. Often times, policies are routed on or based off theoretical perspectives from philosophers, ethicists, economists, etc. Unfortunately, not all countries agreed with the UN on this declaration of women s right, despite women make up half of the global population. The understanding of women s bodies is relatively new, and literature on women s rights is also relatively new. Dworkin s quote relates to women throughout history who have been forced to conform. Such as annerexia, depression and other serious health concerns. Not only does Barry uses juxtapositon he also use exaggeration to argue his views. Barry uses exaggeration to add a sesnse of humor to the essay. He exaggerates the Barbie doll proportions giving her a height of seven feet and eighty one pounds with fifty three of those pounds being bosoms. He also exaggerates mens complacency with their apperance even if their faces cause heart failure in cattle at a range of 300 yards, and when their faces sag and their noses bloat to the size of eggplants and their eyebrows grow together to form what appears to be a giant forehead dwelling tropical caterpillar. With these exaggerations he shows how women are willing to try and be like something that is very hard to achieve, even though they have already achieved their goals in the eyes of men and others. He shows how men are careless about their appearance, even though they may look horrendous; they care more about manly activities. As you can see Barry really used juxtaposition and ... Brain and Behavior of Men and Women Essay If we were to examine a high school calculus classroom or the staff at an engineering program of a college or university, chances are that the male to female ratio would be significantly skewed. Contrary to popular belief, gender and anatomical sex refer to two distinct and separate constructs as each develops at different times and in different parts of the body. John Money coined the phenomenon that codes for masculinity or femininity as Gendermaps (1). At a very early age and through an interaction of both nature and nurture, this gendermap imprint is established. What makes gender identification and sex so frequently parallel to each other is that gendermap evolvement is notably also induced by hormones that emanate from the developing fetus (1). Behavioral Differences: Though there are many similarities in the cognitive abilities of men and women, there are also discernible differences. For the most part, the behavioral differences between the intellectual capacities of the sexes have to do more with patterns of ability than the actual intellectual capacity (3). For one, attention and perception differ early on. Baby girls have been noted to gaze longer at objects than baby boys. Later they rely on landmarks and memory for guidance. Boys on the other hand, have a better visual spatial ability such as aiming at stationary or moving targets and detecting minor movements in their visual fields more easily. The fact that males perform better in navigation seems to agree with the possible theory that evolutionarily, many of these abilities would have been important for survival in the time of ...
