The Out Of Body Experiences
Out of Body Experiences Out of Body Research Foundation noted Stephanie C Experiences on April
25/2016 I remember drowning somehow (I think by a lake or river or something) and eventually
knowing I had passed. All of a sudden I felt an out of body experience and like I was being lifted up
through a vortex. A very intense vortex, it felt like I was going at least 100 mph. The scenery looked
like bright light and like I was passing through a bunch of stars. The vortex eventually stopped
however, and then my out of body experience occurred (OBERF, 2016). . Out of body experiences are
a process that focuses on the feeling of floating outside one s body, and some cases, the feeling of
perceiving one s physical body as if from a place outside one s body (Brugger Mohr, 2009, p. 137).
Out of body experiences may refer to astral projections or near death experiences. Astral projections
refer to a person s conscious detachment from one s physical body that can travel or exist outside of
the body, these individual who experience such phenomena often are aware of their surroundings and
can hear what is being said around them (Slick, n.d.). In turn, near death experience refers to the
possibility of detachment from one s body, a feeling of levitation, total serenity, security, warmth and
absolute dissolution and the presence of light; usually associated with death (McRae, 2014). These are
indexes for the paranormal. Out of body experiences could happen to anyone, but many skeptics

Suburban Sitcoms In The 60 s
Suburban sitcoms coming out in the late 50 s early 60 s portrayed usually an average family with
average problems it solves by the end of the episode, most sitcoms including Leave It To Beaver
followed the same formula; two white parents, a mother, and father, and 2 3 children; every episode
followed the same steps, there s a problem, the problem is solved by the end of the episode, and a
lesson is learned by the main character. This held up perfectly in the 50 s and 60 s society, but sitcoms
needed to adapt to fit their society, as time progressed, more important issues showed up in the shows,
and as the US became more diverse so did the sitcoms. Today suburban sitcoms couldn t be more
different. As society became more diverse, more sitcoms were made to cater to the new audience. ...

Major Market Indicators
Executive Summary
The report explores Brazil, Argentina, and Chile s major market indicators to help determine which
mode to execute (import from U.S. or export to U.S.) of auto parts. An in depth PEST analysis was
done for each country that highlights some of the most important pieces of data from various sources.
Each country has several opportunities and challenges that could affect the ease of doing business with
them.
Brazil is the largest country in South America and they have a strong economy that is ranked 7th
amongst the rest of the world. Their export value exceeded their import value in 2012, however, one
of their major import items are auto parts. They typically only export vehicles so importing auto parts
is crucial to them. One of their main economic objects is to surplus their foreign trade of imports.
There are import restrictions that have been put in place such as; registering with SECEX, but they are
attempting to speed up registrations and customs clearance. There are trading companies available to
assist with the exporting the auto parts into the country. Imported items are subject to an import tax
and several other customs duties. Although the economy is doing fairly well there, the labor pool has
some challenges. They have heavily restricted labor regulations there, and large portions of the people
are either semiskilled or unskilled. Brazil was ranked 7th within the automotive market in 2012 and
there will be a short term demand within the industry

The Whig Interpretation Of History Essay
History may be examined and interpreted in many different ways. This is because there is little
evidence that had survived to go by in which historians have to use to study the past. Evidence,
written and made by the historical people themselves, include but are not limited to written
documents, such as books and letters, and material culture, as in art and architecture. Now, because the
original authors or artists are not alive to tell the story, historians have to examine the evidence left
behind to make an educated judgment on what had really happened in the past. This judgment or
argument is always incomplete and up for revision as more evidence is found as time passes by.
Although many conclusions can be generated from one piece of evidence, arguments can be biased,
leading to different, possibly incorrect, views of history. In his essay, The Whig Interpretation of
History, Herbert Butterfield elaborates on the matter that many historians tend to write on the behalf
on a Protestant or Whig point of view when researching about history. The argument he has provided
in his essay states that the whig interpretation of history relates to the act of abstracting [ideas and
events] from their historical context and judging them apart from their context estimating them and
organizing the historical story by a system of direct reference to the present (Butterfield 30). To
Butterfield, studying the past in the eyes of the present is one of the biggest errors a historian

Positives And Negatives Of Sorority
Animal house, Sydney White, and The Revenge of the Nerds. These are movies about Fraternities and
Sororities that everyday people associate with Greek life; alcohol, drugs, hazing,Togo parties,
manipulation, and debauchery in forms of the imagination. Although these things do happen on many
levels, as the war cry of the title Admit Nothing, Deny Everything , there are many positives. I have
personally been positively influenced by a sorority that has permanently changed my life forever. My
freshman year of college, I went through recruitment and was chosen to be a pledge sister for Delta
Zeta Sorority. I was immediately surrounded by older DZ sisters who became my friends and mentors.
I was also made to jump out of my comfort zone with the many projects, and fundraisers the sorority
did. I worked with hearing impaired children, I created the homecoming float, and I organized formals

to being a part of it.Fraternities and Sororities have made a tremendous turn from where they first
began in 1776. From being kept secret, because of social status, to now being heard of in every home.

Honesty In The End
Everything will be okay in the end. If it s not okay, it s not the End. John Lennon The Quote above
says that everything will be fine at the right time or when someone has been fulfil his goals in life.
Like stories in the books or movies it only end when the character resolve all the problems his been
facing all the time. But when the story add another problem it means that the story is not yet been
done and should be continue until it find its way to be done. It also means like whatever happens in
your life, don t give up until you can reach your goal. Don t stop even you fail after all it s not yet the
end. As we grow older there are lot of things happens in our life, there are lot of problem that
challenge us to see how far can we go, how long can we endure it. In this quote tells us that no matter
what happens we should stand still and continue what we started to do. Sometimes we fail but it s not
mean that we should give up it means that it s not yet the end we should stand up and continue what
should we do until we solve every challenges that comes to our life. Honesty is a very expensive gift.

Business Objectives Of Starting A Business
I have learned that when starting a business, the following items must be addressed: 1. Mission
Statement Develop a simple statement that will express the business s vision and convey the company
big picture. This allows the mission statement will put the vision into words and set the tone for the
company objectives. The mission statement becomes the blueprint for the core values of the business
and helps to establish a code of conduct. 2. Setting Business Objectives It is important that business
objectives be clear and realistic. The objectives are necessary for owners and employees. The
objectives should also be measurable, which will ensure that the objectives can be reviewed and the
best way to achieve the objectives. The business objectives assist the business in focusing on
maximizing the business potential. The business objective will also assist the business owner in
creating a business plan. The business objectives should be reviewed and updated as necessary.
Objectives assist business owners in creating a competitive edge by allocating goods and resources. 3.
Identify Target Market Business owners must identify their typical customer and then market to that
customer base. In today s economy having a niche can be very effective. This allows you to focus your
message and marketing money to specific market. You can define you target market by looking at
your current customers base. Define who they are and what you sell to them. Check out your

Sherwood Elementary Classroom Observation
I did my observation at Sherwood Elementary on February 7, 2017, in Miss Jody s ECSE classroom.
There were nine students in her classroom. Of those nine students, only one was a girl. There were
three adults in the classroom, but one of those adults was one on one with a student who was not
verbal. For about a half hour the speech therapist comes in the classroom, and she works with students
in their classroom environment. Miss. Jody did inform Emily and I of the types of exceptionalities that
we may see among the children, which were verbal, social and cognitive impairment. She also
included strengths for each child, which was nice to hear. In our reading from the textbook,

The Truth in Negotiations Act
The Truth in Negotiations Act was passed on December 1, 1962 requiring government contractors to
submit cost or pricing data if the procurement met specific requirements in order to establish that the
offer is fair and reasonable. The history of The Truth in Negotiations Act will set the stage for its
significance in the twenty first century. Prior to World War II, the United States government conducted
its bidding process for procurement in an open bid environment. What was required for a bid was a
complete description of the requirement, two or more suppliers capable and willing to complete the
requirement, a selection based on price competition and sufficient time to prepare a complete
statement of the government s needs and terms. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was contended by GAO that the government s negotiator would be in a better position to establish
an equitable price if contractor cost data were made available. (Maddox, 2013)
In 1959, the United States Air Force took the beginning steps of implementing a process that was
based on the Government Accountability Office s recommendation. This process required certification
of contractor cost data, as recommended. The Department of Defense followed the example set by the
Air Force by issuing a revision to the Armed Services Procurement Regulations to require certification
of cost data.
The Truth in Negotiations Act has the purpose of insuring that the government is receiving a fair and
reasonable pricing, essentially helping to prevent defective pricing and allowing the government to be
able to get set retributions for defective pricing. This is something that is solely found in the world of
government contracting, as there is nothing similar to it in a commercial environment. A potential
supplier will have to supply the government with a certificate of current cost or pricing data.

Heroes As Role Models
Heroes are people with courage and perseverance, have made a significant impact in people s lives,
and can be looked up to as role models. Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jackson are
perfect examples of heroes because they stood up to the racism and sexism they received working at
NASA, and did not allow it to stop them from being the best mathematicians and scientists that they
could be. Katherine Johnson, probably the most well known of the three women, was born on 26
August, 1918, in White Sulfer Springs, West Virginia. As a young girl, her absolute curiosity and
brilliance in maths put her ahead several grades, and by the age of thirteen, she was attending high
school. When she was eighteen, she enrolled in university, and graduated as the first African American
to earn a PhD in maths. A NASA website page states, Katherine graduated with highest honors in 1937
and took a job teaching at a black public school in Virginia (Loff). She was hired for NASA, originally
called NACA, in June 1953 and was assigned a project almost immediately. In 1958, NACA became
NASA, and four years later, Katherine began working on satellite calculations to prepare for the first
American man into space. Katherine became well known among other scientists, and before John
Glenn took off into space, he said, If she [Katherine] says they re [the calculations are] good, then I m
ready to go. Katherine retired from NASA in 1986 and was awarded with the Presidential Medal of

Role Of Artifice In American Politics
Put your best foot forward, but if that foot is fake, is it really yours? Facades and fallacies have
absorbed American politics and entertainment like vacuum of morality upon our society. Although
Americans want to believe that our leaders are honest and are held to a superior moral standard than
the rest of us, the very nature of politics and entertainment requires those who want to be successful to
master the art of deception, or as noted by author Chris Hedges, the most essential skill...is artifice.
Artifice is ultimately the common link with the most successful and most powerful people in the

My Career As A Career Autobiography
A career autobiography has to probably be one of the most interesting and thoughtful essays I ve had
to write so far. I am seventeen years old and am attending my first semester in college. I look forward
to getting good grades, opening my mind to new things, and eventually graduating college. However, I
have absolutely no idea what I want to be doing in the future. My indecisiveness is at such a high level
that I probably change my future career every other day. At this point in life, my family, advisors, and
professors are telling me that I don t need to know what I want to be doing for a living, in the future,
yet, I feel that I should know. I don t want to be wasting my time and taking unnecessary classes. The
thoughts about my future career leave me to be extremely indecisive and nervous, at times. I just hope,
like people have told me, that It comes to me. In regards to my interests and skills, I prefer math and
science over reading and history, but it is not because I do poorly in the subjects. I enjoy solving
problems and learning about the human body and all the fascinating things it can perform, voluntarily
and involuntarily. I am a studious individual and received high grades throughout my educational
career, which I hope continues on in college. Striving to do the best is something vital in wanting to
accomplish something in life. Being that I am a first generation child, one from parents who are
immigrants from Montenegro, Europe, I have some skills which

To What Extent Can There Be If A Baking Soda Is...
Question What will the outcome be if the amount of baking soda is substituted with an equal amount
of baking powder in a standard chocolate chip cookie?
Knowledge Probe
Scientific Knowledge:
From previous experiences with baking cookies we are aware that if you accidentally use baking
powder instead of soda, the cookies will increase in thickness and will result in a sponge like texture.
Baking soda and baking powder are similar, but have different reactions to the ingredients in baking
cookies. Baking soda is also known as sodium bicarbonate, and once it meets heat, carbon dioxide is
formed. The carbon dioxide is what gives rise to cookies and other baked goods. Baking powder, on
the other hand, is a mixture of baking soda, powdered acid, and cornstarch (Baking 101: The

We concluded that only one trial is not sufficient enough to provide an accurate claim. It is not
accurate because no measurement is precise so Byars cookie compared to ours will be different. By
conducting more than one trial we would have many of the same cookies to compare their general
features to Byars cookie. It would be easier to tell if in fact Byars did substitute baking powder for
baking soda or if he did not.
Errors that could not be eliminated includes the fact that measurements are not precise, and the varying
temperatures of the oven used. Because measurements are not precise, it is very unlikely that two
cookies will be exactly the same, making it harder to reach an accurate claim. During the experiment
we discovered that the oven had been set to a lower temperature than the 375° F specified in the
procedures. This caused cookies to become undercooked without realizing is as to the fact we were
following the procedure of leaving the cookie in only for nine to eleven minutes.

Autism And Its Effects On Children
Autism is a disorder that affects millions of people with the number increasing with each passing year.
Compared to other development disorders, autism today is still widely undiscovered with several
holes. It is an important developmental disorder that everyone should understand because most people
either know someone personally with autism or have come in contact with an individual who has
autism. Knowing about how autism works can allow the world to help those with autism and know
how to interact with them.
With the prevalence of those diagnosed with Autism increasing every year, advances in research on
this disorder can have a profound effect on millions of people worldwide. Autism can be treated the
most effectively when caught early, therefore it is even more important that we all know the symptoms
of this developmental disorder, so it can be treated before the severity of the symptoms increase. Still
today, no known cause exist behind why Autism occurs, although research has shown that various
environmental factors may be to blame, genetic mutations have also been found. A big lack of
research on Autism has greatly hurt the life of those with Autism, with no findings on why it occurs.
With more research those with Autism, could have better social skills or a majority could have jobs
and live independently without any help what so ever. Likewise because of the lack of research, no
one single treatment exists that can completely cure Autism. Currently only specific

misfortunes and unfavorable decisions to propel him for greatness.
Dyson promotes creativity. I believe that he would recommend that students stay focused and learn
from their errors rather than quit their efforts. Dyson would advise to never allow your current

stress the importance of not focusing on the error itself, but how we recovered from it. James Dyson
encourages students that making error are accepted and expected. Innovation is the key to improving a

Unique Design of the Vietnam War Memorial
At the age of twenty one, a female undergraduate at Yale University named

unique and controversial. After long discussions by a panel, it was chosen for construction. The design
that she submitted was one that was very different in comparison to other memorials, and it was one
that has a tendency to leave a lot of questions on the minds of the visitors. On the face of the memorial
there is a list of all those who died or are missing in the order by which they were lost. It could seem

In comparison with other monuments, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial is vastly different. A point of
comparison could be the Marine Corps War
Memorial, otherwise known as the Iwo Jima monument. This monument is a sculpture of three
soldiers risking their lives to keep the American flag flying. The structure has a deep sense of
understood patriotism and there is a great deal of honor that is also associated with it. Unlike the
Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the Iwo Jima monument is a tribute only to the Marines who served in
World War Two. The Vietnam Veterans Memorial has no such message of honor and courage, but
rather an atmosphere that causes visitors to reflect on the conflict (Colliers 138 139).
The only monument that is similar the Vietnam Veterans Memorial is the memorial to Ulysses S.
Grant. It is located at the foot of the capital and has no clear cut meaning. There is no political
message that can be taken away from Grant¹s memorial. It neither glorifies war nor possesses an
antiwar message, and there is no moral lesson that can be taken away from this monument (Colliers

Veterans Memorial is that it allows the public to form its own opinion of the conflict with out forcing a
political message. It is because of this ambiguity that the monument is so unique.
Unlike other monuments, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial can not be seen from a distance. One must

1.1 Background of the study
India like all the developing countries is faced with sustaining its rapid economic growth while
dealing with global threat of climate change. A warming trend is projected for all the four regions
under focus by INCCA. It is indicated that the annual mean surface air temperature may rise from
1.7°C to 2°C by 2030 s. To counter that reducing emissions and increasing energy efficiency are
recurring themes in India s development philosophy which reflects in our policies, missions/
programmes at national, state and local level.
Rapidly increasing energy demand and growing concern about economic and environmental
consequences call for effective and thorough energy governance in India. (Ahn Gracyzk, 2012)
To understand the dynamics of the energy policy framework governing India s energy sector, it is

The Role of Women in the Ibo Culture Essay
The Role of Women in the Ibo Culture The culture in which Things Fall Apart is centered around is
one where patriarchal testosterone is supreme and oppresses all females into a nothingness. They are
to be seen and not heard, farming, caring for animals, raising children, carrying foo foo, pots of water,
and kola. The role of women in the Ibo culture was mostly domestic. The men saw them as material
possessions and thought of them as a source of children and as cooks. As a man made his way in life
by farming yams, he needed a strong workforce. This workforce included his wives and children. A
man would have many wives. The more wives and children a man had, the more honor and respect he

Daubert Standards Case Study
After reading the articles, I believe the Daubert standard is the best standard for Florida to move

scientific community. I do not feel like this is enough qualifications in any scientific field especially in
the field of forensic science. The procedure or technique used needs to be proved reliable and can give
consistent results, not just be accepted by the community. Also, with the Frye standard no one is
checking and reviewing the witness procedure or technique to see if it s reliable, accurate, or the error

Nutty Potty Research Paper
The Squatty Potty will Revolutionize the way people go number two. The way in which the west use
the restroom is the wrong way. There are many health issues that are directly related to the posture
toilets put you in. The sitting position toilets puts you in is bad for your health. This sitting posture
often attributes to colitis, hemorrhoids, constipation, colon cancer, and appendicitis. The cause of this
directly, is the Puborectalis muscle which has the purpose of clinching the vaginal and anal orifices in
the body. When sitting on the toilet the Puborectalis muscle is only partially relaxed which causes a

This is something that the inventor of the Squatty Potty said Physiologically, we are designed to squat.
I think a great example can be seen in children that are still in diapers who squat to poop. Many of
them then struggle to poop when sitting on training toilets because it is unnatural they instinctively
squat. The Squatty Potty has shown that using it gets the job done normally two times as fast, which
everyone would want it to go by faster. Research has shown using the Squatty Potty can also be a
noninvasive treatment for hemorrhoids, if it is continually used instead of sitting normally on the
toilet. It can also help pregnant women by relieving pressure on the uterus that would otherwise be
caused from sitting on the toilet. The Squatty Potty uses the thighs to help support the colon to prevent
pelvic organ prolapse, hernias and diverticulitis. The Squatty Potty comes in 7 to 9 for people with

The Message in Shrek Essay
The Message in Shrek
In traditional fairy tales, ogres are man eating beasts, the Prince rescues the Princess and they live
happily ever after. How do the makers of Shrek use presentational devices to reverse this tradition,
revealing the ogre as good, the Prince as evil?
In traditional fairy tales, the story begins Once upon a time and the general story line is a happy one.
Fairy tales are designed for small children so they can t be violent or contain swearing etc.
Snow White is a traditional fairy tale in which the evil queen tries to kill her but a prince rescues her, a
typical stereotype fairytale layout.
Sleeping Beauty has the same lay out but slightly differs from Snow ... Show more content on

Also the camera shots also show Donkey and Shrek together. In the fight Shrek doesn t want to fight
and offers to settle it over a pint but later decides to pummel them. From this the audience can tell that
Shrek is in favour of peace but doesn t mind the odd brawl with the baddies.
Later Shrek meets and rescues Princess Fiona as ordered by lord Farquaad. When they first meet
Fiona is expecting a kiss as she lays ready (this is in reference to sleeping beauty) for a kiss but Shrek
shakes her awake this suggests Shrek is not the traditional type as the film isn t either. When Fiona
queries why Shrek hasn t slain the dragon he says that it is on his to do list which says Shrek has a
sense of humour even in life threatening situations.
At the beginning of the film, Shrek tries to threaten the characters he meets. There are characters that
are not affected by his appearance these being Princess Fiona, Donkey and the fairy tale creatures that
squat in his swamp at the beginning of the film. Although Shrek an ogre the audience accepts him as a
good guy.
In contrast to Shrek, lord Farquaad is a small and nasty character and shows no remorse throughout
the film. There is a scene where lord Farquaad is interrogating the ginger bread man truing to find the

Edan Bunnymund Research Paper
The events leading up to Edan Bunnymund s birth were anything but extraordinary. The Bunnymund

the early 1900 s. His mother and father had known each other since they were children and anyone
who knew them could predict their future union. They married shortly after Astor s eighteenth

Edan was an active child very early on. Not quite satisfied with relaxing, Edan was constantly on the

furniture, hid under beds, and explored every corner of the Bunnymund s tiny apartment. When his

The Argentine Debt Restructuring Of Argentina
The Argentine debt restructuring is a process of debt restructuring by Argentina which began on
January 14, 2005, and allowed it to resume payment on the majority of the USD 82 billion in
sovereign bonds that defaulted in 2002 at the depth of the worst economic crisis in the nation s history.
A second debt restructuring in 2010 brought the percentage of bonds, out of default, to 93%, though
ongoing disputes with holdouts remained. Bondholders who participated in the restructuring, accepted
repayments of around 30% of face value and deferred payment terms, and began to be paid
punctually; the value of their bonds also began to rise. The remaining 7% of bondholders later won the
right to be repaid in full.
As part of the restructuring process, Argentina drafted agreements in which repayments would be
handled through a New York corporation and governed by United States law. The holdout bondholders
found themselves unable to seize Argentine sovereign assets in settlement, but realized that Argentina
had omitted to provide for holdout situations and had instead deemed all bonds repayable on pari
passu (equal) terms that prevented preferential treatment among bondholders. The holdout
bondholders therefore sought, and won, an injunction in 2012 that prohibited Argentina from re
paying the 93% of bonds that had been renegotiated, unless they simultaneously paid the 7% holdouts
their full amount due as well.
Together with the agreement s Rights Upon Future Offers ( RUFO ) clause,

Pros And Cons Of Genetic Testing
What are the most serious genetic diseases and what are the pros and cons of genetic testing? Here is a
real life story of a woman who has been greatly affected by genetic testing and has seen both the good
and the bad of genetic testing. This is a story that was posted in an article called 6 Moms Share Their
Real Prenatal Testing Stories on the website What to Expect from Courtney from Lake Stevens,
Washington about how genetic testing has affected her life. So for Courtney, a few weeks after her 13
week ultrasound and her quad screen her doctors told her she had a positive screen for Down
syndrome. So at 17 weeks she had to go back in for another ultrasound and genetic counseling which
according to kids health.org is counseling that allows a genetic counselor to evaluate the results of a
genetic test with the parents and helps the parents understand and reach decisions on what to do next.
Her ultrasound looked great but still had a positive screen for Down syndrome. So she was was
recommended for either an amnio or verifi test. Courtney then went to genetic counseling and choose
to have the verifi test done over the amnio. A week later her results came back negative for Down
syndrome and confirmed the baby was a girl. Courtney said I am glad we opted to get the verifi test
done especially after the stress of getting a positive screening before. I like how that if the NIPT did
turn out positive for Down syndrome, I could have prepared ahead of time for the care of a special
needs child would require, rather than feeling completely caught off guard at birth. As you can see
genetic testing is very important and can affect a child s and parents lives for the better and the worst.
Children all over the world have serious genetic diseases that affect their life on a daily. Some of these
diseases are Achondroplasia, Down syndrome, and Turner s syndrome. Many believe genetic testing is
a good way to test for these genetic conditions before the child is even born, but others think that it
can harm the baby very badly and even cause a miscarriage, so they choose not to do this kind of
testing. Knowing about the most serious genetic diseases is very important for expecting parents to be
informed as well as being

had left, she started wandering around, looking at the beautiful, strange creatures around her. But she

Stag Hunt Floor Mosaic Essay
Pebbled Perfection The Stag Hunt floor mosaic by the artist Gnosis, depicts two men and a dog about
to kill a stag. The mosaic is from Pella, Greece and dates to about 300 BCE. The piece currently
resides in the Archaeological Museum in Pella. The mosaic is made entirely from pebbles of varying
colors collected from the ground. The piece only has a few distinctive colors, the most prominent
including black, white, and brown. White pebbles are used almost entirely for the two men s bodies,
the dog, and part of the stag. Brown pebbles give character to the hair of the two men, body of the
stag, and smaller elements like the eyes and lips of the figures. Finally, black pebbles create most of
the background of the mosaic, marking a distinct contrast between the background and the white
figures. Shading also beautifully enhances the mosaic, perhaps because of the limited color range.
Especially noticeable are the cloaks of the two men. The use of light and shade seem to make the
cloaks writhe over the powerful bodies they adorn. Shading defines the muscles of the men,
accentuating their bodies and the power within them. Also creating definition is the use of various
lines. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The figures occur equally in the composition with the stag as the center of focus, a man on either side
of the stage facing each other, and a dog in front and to the left side of the stag. The equal
displacement or unity of the figures makes nothing appear out of place, or jump out to the viewer. This
is also because the piece is arranged to give the viewer a straight on perspective. Overlapping is a
large component of the piece. For example, the stag is placed in front of both men and the dog in front
of the stag. This addition of layers creates a subtle depth. Interestingly, all the figures appear in
relative proportion to each other, even though the stag is clearly of the most

Out of every given site, site E was most likely to have fossils because it has the traits that are needed
to find fossils. There is no vegetation, lots of sedimentary rock, and shows evidence of erosion. In this
project, our group evaluated every site to find the most fossils and narrowed it down to site E. To start
it off, there is an absence of vegetation. This makes fossil finding easier because the paleontologists
don t need to dig under trees, roots, and other assorted plants to get to fossils that may have been
hidden under vegetation. This makes digging much harder as opposed to sedimentary rocks. When
vegetation lies on the ground, it is much harder to find fossils as the time spent uncovering the ground

The Secret Labyrinth Of A Snail Shell By Robert Hughes Essay
The readings this week began to introduce basic ideas about urbanization and some general
information about famous sites in Barcelona. In the first chapter of Barcelona: the Great Enchantress ,
Robert Hughes described how he was first introduced to Barcelona and its rich culture. He painted a
very compelling picture of a city I now can t wait to visit one day. He began by introducing some
Barcelonan sites he visited such as, the Sagrada Família designed by Gaudí, the Pyreness mountain
range, and his friend Xavier Corberó s house, Can Cargol, located in Esplugües de Llobregat in
Southern Barcelona. I found it fascinating that winding catacombs had been dug underneath Can
Cargol for storage and possibly defense in the Roman times (Hughes 2004: 5). Hughes also suggested
that these caves might have reminded people of the secret labyrinth of a snail shell (Hughes 2004: 5)
which would explain how it got its Catalan name in which translates to house of the snail. He
described his experiences in the cave and one particular instance stood out to me; In one of the storage
rooms there was an old printing press that could have been used by a radicalist to promote anti Carlist
texts (Hughes 2004: 5). According to the Encyclopedia Britannica, the Carlist movement was a
political movement in Spain that attempted to change the government system from a more
conservative to a liberal style. It impressed me that this smaller town could have housed a place that

and stress the fact that this is a collective learning process that requires group effort, inputs and buy in

A resource management system should be established for describing, inventorying, requesting,

Super Cavitation Research Paper
What is super cavitation? To understand this question another needs to be asked. This question is what
is cavitation? Cavitation is the forming of small pockets of gas under water. These gas pockets are
formed when an area of low pressure is created at a constant temperature which in turn forms gas
bubbles that then rapidly collapse with immense force and heat. The heat and pressure of the
collapsing cavitation bubbles can reach up to 5,000 degrees Celsius and 1,000 atmospheres or in other
words almost the same amount of pressure as there is at the bottom of the ocean. Cavitation is a
serious problem when looking at underwater machinery that can form and area of low pressure. This is
because if cavitation occurs damage will be done to the machines. When cavitation occurs the heat

As was stated above it is caused in several different ways. One is through heat evaporating water
creating a gas pocket. Another is through pure speed and shape. The final is using propellers to form
areas of low pressure to start cavitation and form a super cavity. All of these methods work and there
is no real way to argue which method is the best as there are more ways currently being created but all
of them work it s just a matter of find out how to make them work efficiently. Using heat to vaporize
water could work but only if there is a method to deliver enough heat fast enough and for a long
period of time otherwise it will only work for a short distance. Propellers could work on a greater
scale but they would have to get increasingly larger and more powerful as size went up. Speed and
shape alone could also work but a source of speed such as a rocket is needed and the source of the
speed also must last a long time otherwise the object will only be able to travel short distances. Only
time and more experimentation will create a more efficient form of super cavitation that is easily
created and

right to an equal share of worldly goods. Rather, its concept of equality insists that all are entitled to
equality of opportunity and equality before the law. The democratic concept of equality holds that no
person should be held back for any such arbitrary reasons as those based on race, color, religion, or
gender. This concept of equality holds that each person must be free to develop himself or herself as
fully as he or she can or cares to and that each person should be treated as the equal of all other
persons by the law. We have come ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Equality and Civil Rights is complex in nature that the 14th Amendment (Equal Protection Clause) is
the closest approach to a literal statement of equality, it declares: No State shall deny to any person
within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws. The clause was originally intended to benefit
newly freed slaves. Over time, it has acquired a broader meaning. Today, it forbids states and their
local governments to draw unreasonable distinctions between classes of persons. The equal rights
amendment (ERA) was introduced in 1923. Their policy was for protection of women and based
largely on sexual stereotypes, which has been woven into the legal fabric of American life. This
protectionism has limited the freedom of women to compete with men socially and economically on
an equal footing. The movement to provide equal rights to women advanced a step with the passage of
the Equal Pay Act of 1963. That act required equal pay for men and women doing similar work. On
the other hand, to remove the restrictions of protectionism, women needed equal opportunity for
employment. They got it in the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and later the legislation. The commitment
that led to affirmative action programs expanded opportunities for women, minorities, and those who
are disabled.

Forty years ago, the Islamic banking industry was created, on a modest scale, to fill a gap in a banking
system that was not listening to the fervent Muslim believers. Morocco has been following the same
development in offering Islamic finance services to its citizens through Islamic windows in
conventional banks. In parallel to this development of the Islamic financial industry in Morocco, it
seems very crucial to evaluate critically based on Maliki law school the previous experience of Islamic
windows in conventional banks. Taking into considerations, the differences between schools in the
interpretation and implementation of Islamic law in economy life, the objective of this paper was to
critically analysis the practice of Islamic banks in Morocco. This paper aimed at analyzing the
characteristics of different schools of Islamic law and how this would affect Islamic banking. The final
aim of this paper was to highlight the importance of jurisprudence/ new interpretations in developing
Islamic banking. Qualitative methodology based on semi directive interviewees was the main
approach for this paper. Three levels of gaps have been found out. These gaps are related respectively
to Murabaha, Musharaka and Ijara. Three recommendations have been advised to fill the gaps:

Breaking The Law In Antigone
Antigone Essay The government has always controlled the way the people live by making laws that
gives the people rights, resources, and protection. The government provides protection to the people to
protect them from crime and criminals in the country. There are some people who disagree with
certain laws because they feel like they are not treated the same as other people in the same society or
feel the law is unjustified. The people protest by breaking the law to make their point to the
government. This action is not the right way to confront the government about their laws. The
message in Antigone is when people obey the government and its laws, that will lead to the people
having the right to peacefully disagree with those laws because the people preserve their governments
protection. The play Antigone takes place after the deaths of Antigone`s brothers. Antigone wanted her
brother Polynices, who died in war to be properly buried. Polynice was the king, but he was replaced
by Creon and he order that Polynices will not be properly buried. This order makes Antigone very
upset, so she decided to bury her brother herself. Antigone is then caught and is sent to king Creon for
her action. Antigone believed that Creon is not doing the right thing even though he is the king and
has the right to make the laws that he wants. Antigone was then ... Show more content on

Tuberculosis Essay
Tuberculosis
Forms of tuberculosis have been present in the human population since ancient times. Fragments of
spinal columns from Egyptian mummies dating back to 2400 BC show definite pathological signs of
tubercular decay. Around 460 BC Hippocrates wrote on the subject of a disease which we now know
as tuberculosis. In his article he warned his colleagues against visiting cases in the late stages of the
disease, because the patient s inevitable death might damage the reputations of the attending
physicians. The world s population remained totally defenseless to the lethal effects of tuberculosis for
thousands of years. Then, around the 17th century scientists began to hypothesize about the nature of
the disease and began to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Marten s insight proved to be another enormous step towards the understanding and prevention of
tuberculosis. In the 19th century Hermann Brehmer, a Silesian botany student whom was suffering
from tuberculosis, was instructed by his physician to move to a healthier climate. Brehmer traveled to
the Himalayan mountains mainly to pursue his botanical studies. What he didn t know at the time was
that this journey would be attributed to curing his disease. When Brehmer returned home he began to
study medicine. In 1854, he wrote his dissertation titled, Tuberculosis is a Curable Disease. He
hypothesized that his recovery was directly related to the healthier environment found in the
Himalayan mountains. Brehmer built an institution in Gorbersdorf where his patients received a
nutritious diet and spent great amounts of time on their balconies where they were exposed to
continuous fresh air. This clinic was the first step towards the development of a sanatorium. Sanatoria,
could now be found throughout Europe and the United States. A sanatorium provided two functions.
They isolated the ill from the rest of the public while enforcing rest and a healthy diet. Tuberculosis is
caused by an organism called Mycobacterium

Religion And Politics Of The Catholic Church
Religion influenced culture and politics by the power it holds, but can lose it by its flaws. In Europe,
the Catholic Church has significantly change the lives of others. The Catholic Church dominated
Europe during the Medieval time period. This church established laws which had structured a
theological government that impacted lives. So that all laws would be made throughout Europe from
the church. Also influenced men to fight in Crusades. Later on, the leaders of the Catholic Church
were more interested in worldly aspects rather than their spiritual life. Which then lead the church to
allow indulgences which caused the Reformation, that was lead by Martin Luther. Therefore, the
Catholic religion impacted culture and politics in the society of Europe because it was the center of
attention. Which established the Canon Laws, from that foundation it influenced others to fight in
Crusades, and eventually the flaws of the church lead to the Reformation. The Catholic Church ruled
all of Europe, so when they implemented Canon Laws it gave them more power. The Canon Laws
held political and religious power, which the members of the church had to obey, if not they would be
excommunicated from the church. Also would be tried through their court system( Power of the
Church Lecture). This explained the church held a lot of power. Also it showed the church had an
influence on how people s lives were going to be structured, because if they lived a certain lifestyle

The Constitution sets up the government in the United States of America. This is split into three
branches: Congress, which is the Legislative, the President also known as Executive and the Supreme

Legislative (Congress). This branch is bicameral; it consists of the Senate and the House of
Representatives. The House of Representatives has 435 seats, 19 committees, and 84 sub committees.

forward with the impeachment of a president. Although a trial must be held, it is Congress who calls

  • 2. The Out Of Body Experiences Out of Body Experiences Out of Body Research Foundation noted Stephanie C Experiences on April 25/2016 I remember drowning somehow (I think by a lake or river or something) and eventually knowing I had passed. All of a sudden I felt an out of body experience and like I was being lifted up through a vortex. A very intense vortex, it felt like I was going at least 100 mph. The scenery looked like bright light and like I was passing through a bunch of stars. The vortex eventually stopped however, and then my out of body experience occurred (OBERF, 2016). . Out of body experiences are a process that focuses on the feeling of floating outside one s body, and some cases, the feeling of perceiving one s physical body as if from a place outside one s body (Brugger Mohr, 2009, p. 137). Out of body experiences may refer to astral projections or near death experiences. Astral projections refer to a person s conscious detachment from one s physical body that can travel or exist outside of the body, these individual who experience such phenomena often are aware of their surroundings and can hear what is being said around them (Slick, n.d.). In turn, near death experience refers to the possibility of detachment from one s body, a feeling of levitation, total serenity, security, warmth and absolute dissolution and the presence of light; usually associated with death (McRae, 2014). These are indexes for the paranormal. Out of body experiences could happen to anyone, but many skeptics ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Suburban Sitcoms In The 60 s Suburban sitcoms coming out in the late 50 s early 60 s portrayed usually an average family with average problems it solves by the end of the episode, most sitcoms including Leave It To Beaver followed the same formula; two white parents, a mother, and father, and 2 3 children; every episode followed the same steps, there s a problem, the problem is solved by the end of the episode, and a lesson is learned by the main character. This held up perfectly in the 50 s and 60 s society, but sitcoms needed to adapt to fit their society, as time progressed, more important issues showed up in the shows, and as the US became more diverse so did the sitcoms. • 4. Major Market Indicators Executive Summary The report explores Brazil, Argentina, and Chile s major market indicators to help determine which mode to execute (import from U.S. or export to U.S.) of auto parts. An in depth PEST analysis was done for each country that highlights some of the most important pieces of data from various sources. Each country has several opportunities and challenges that could affect the ease of doing business with them. Brazil is the largest country in South America and they have a strong economy that is ranked 7th amongst the rest of the world. Their export value exceeded their import value in 2012, however, one of their major import items are auto parts. They typically only export vehicles so importing auto parts is crucial to them. One of their main economic objects is to surplus their foreign trade of imports. There are import restrictions that have been put in place such as; registering with SECEX, but they are attempting to speed up registrations and customs clearance. There are trading companies available to assist with the exporting the auto parts into the country. Imported items are subject to an import tax and several other customs duties. Although the economy is doing fairly well there, the labor pool has some challenges. They have heavily restricted labor regulations there, and large portions of the people are either semiskilled or unskilled. Brazil was ranked 7th within the automotive market in 2012 and there will be a short term demand within the industry ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Whig Interpretation Of History Essay History may be examined and interpreted in many different ways. This is because there is little evidence that had survived to go by in which historians have to use to study the past. Evidence, written and made by the historical people themselves, include but are not limited to written documents, such as books and letters, and material culture, as in art and architecture. Now, because the original authors or artists are not alive to tell the story, historians have to examine the evidence left behind to make an educated judgment on what had really happened in the past. This judgment or argument is always incomplete and up for revision as more evidence is found as time passes by. Although many conclusions can be generated from one piece of evidence, arguments can be biased, leading to different, possibly incorrect, views of history. In his essay, The Whig Interpretation of History, Herbert Butterfield elaborates on the matter that many historians tend to write on the behalf on a Protestant or Whig point of view when researching about history. The argument he has provided in his essay states that the whig interpretation of history relates to the act of abstracting [ideas and events] from their historical context and judging them apart from their context estimating them and organizing the historical story by a system of direct reference to the present (Butterfield 30). To Butterfield, studying the past in the eyes of the present is one of the biggest errors a historian ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These are movies about Fraternities and Sororities that everyday people associate with Greek life; alcohol, drugs, hazing,Togo parties, manipulation, and debauchery in forms of the imagination. Although these things do happen on many levels, as the war cry of the title Admit Nothing, Deny Everything , there are many positives. I have personally been positively influenced by a sorority that has permanently changed my life forever. My freshman year of college, I went through recruitment and was chosen to be a pledge sister for Delta Zeta Sorority. I was immediately surrounded by older DZ sisters who became my friends and mentors. I was also made to jump out of my comfort zone with the many projects, and fundraisers the sorority did. Prior to World War II, the United States government conducted its bidding process for procurement in an open bid environment. This process required certification of contractor cost data, as recommended. The Department of Defense followed the example set by the Air Force by issuing a revision to the Armed Services Procurement Regulations to require certification of cost data. • 12. Heroes As Role Models Heroes are people with courage and perseverance, have made a significant impact in people s lives, and can be looked up to as role models. Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jackson are perfect examples of heroes because they stood up to the racism and sexism they received working at NASA, and did not allow it to stop them from being the best mathematicians and scientists that they could be. Katherine Johnson, probably the most well known of the three women, was born on 26 August, 1918, in White Sulfer Springs, West Virginia. As a young girl, her absolute curiosity and brilliance in maths put her ahead several grades, and by the age of thirteen, she was attending high school. When she was eighteen, she enrolled in university, and graduated as the first African American to earn a PhD in maths. A NASA website page states, Katherine graduated with highest honors in 1937 and took a job teaching at a black public school in Virginia (Loff). She was hired for NASA, originally called NACA, in June 1953 and was assigned a project almost immediately. In 1958, NACA became NASA, and four years later, Katherine began working on satellite calculations to prepare for the first American man into space. I am seventeen years old and am attending my first semester in college. I look forward to getting good grades, opening my mind to new things, and eventually graduating college. However, I have absolutely no idea what I want to be doing in the future. My indecisiveness is at such a high level that I probably change my future career every other day. At this point in life, my family, advisors, and professors are telling me that I don t need to know what I want to be doing for a living, in the future, yet, I feel that I should know. I don t want to be wasting my time and taking unnecessary classes. The thoughts about my future career leave me to be extremely indecisive and nervous, at times. I just hope, like people have told me, that It comes to me. In regards to my interests and skills, I prefer math and science over reading and history, but it is not because I do poorly in the subjects. I enjoy solving problems and learning about the human body and all the fascinating things it can perform, voluntarily and involuntarily. I am a studious individual and received high grades throughout my educational career, which I hope continues on in college. Baking soda and baking powder are similar, but have different reactions to the ingredients in baking cookies. Baking soda is also known as sodium bicarbonate, and once it meets heat, carbon dioxide is formed. The carbon dioxide is what gives rise to cookies and other baked goods. It would be easier to tell if in fact Byars did substitute baking powder for baking soda or if he did not. Errors that could not be eliminated includes the fact that measurements are not precise, and the varying temperatures of the oven used. Compared to other development disorders, autism today is still widely undiscovered with several holes. It is an important developmental disorder that everyone should understand because most people either know someone personally with autism or have come in contact with an individual who has autism. Knowing about how autism works can allow the world to help those with autism and know how to interact with them. With the prevalence of those diagnosed with Autism increasing every year, advances in research on this disorder can have a profound effect on millions of people worldwide. Autism can be treated the most effectively when caught early, therefore it is even more important that we all know the symptoms of this developmental disorder, so it can be treated before the severity of the symptoms increase. Still today, no known cause exist behind why Autism occurs, although research has shown that various environmental factors may be to blame, genetic mutations have also been found. A big lack of research on Autism has greatly hurt the life of those with Autism, with no findings on why it occurs. I believe that he would recommend that students stay focused and learn from their errors rather than quit their efforts. Dyson would advise to never allow your current situation define your outcome. He would suggest that students learn from past experiences. He would stress the importance of not focusing on the error itself, but how we recovered from it. James Dyson encourages students that making error are accepted and expected. Innovation is the key to improving a business. Innovation helps to find better ways of doing things to support business improvement and growth. In my opinion, businesses could learn valuable information in regards to training from James Dyson. In comparison with other monuments, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial is vastly different. A point of comparison could be the Marine Corps War Memorial, otherwise known as the Iwo Jima monument. This monument is a sculpture of three soldiers risking their lives to keep the American flag flying. The structure has a deep sense of understood patriotism and there is a great deal of honor that is also associated with it. Unlike the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the Iwo Jima monument is a tribute only to the Marines who served in World War Two. The Vietnam Veterans Memorial has no such message of honor and courage, but rather an atmosphere that causes visitors to reflect on the conflict (Colliers 138 139). The only monument that is similar the Vietnam Veterans Memorial is the memorial to Ulysses S. Grant. It is located at the foot of the capital and has no clear cut meaning. There is no political message that can be taken away from Grant¹s memorial. It neither glorifies war nor possesses an antiwar message, and there is no moral lesson that can be taken away from this monument (Colliers 138). One of the great things about the Vietnam Veterans Memorial is that it allows the public to form its own opinion of the conflict with out forcing a political message. It is because of this ambiguity that the monument is so unique. Unlike other monuments, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial can not be seen from a distance. One must commit to see it, ... The Role of Women in the Ibo Culture Essay The Role of Women in the Ibo Culture The culture in which Things Fall Apart is centered around is one where patriarchal testosterone is supreme and oppresses all females into a nothingness. They are to be seen and not heard, farming, caring for animals, raising children, carrying foo foo, pots of water, and kola. The role of women in the Ibo culture was mostly domestic. The men saw them as material possessions and thought of them as a source of children and as cooks. As a man made his way in life by farming yams, he needed a strong workforce. While Frye standard and Rule 702 do have qualifications that need to be met for expert testimony to be used, Daubert standard has in my opinion the best qualification standards that must be met for expert testimony to be used. Based on the articles, for expert testimony to go through in the court all a witness needed using the Frye standard was have whatever technique, principle, or procedure be generally accepted in the scientific community. I do not feel like this is enough qualifications in any scientific field especially in the field of forensic science. The procedure or technique used needs to be proved reliable and can give consistent results, not just be accepted by the community. Also, with the Frye standard no one is checking and reviewing the witness procedure or technique to see if it s reliable, accurate, or the error rate for it. The Argentine Debt Restructuring Of Argentina The Argentine debt restructuring is a process of debt restructuring by Argentina which began on January 14, 2005, and allowed it to resume payment on the majority of the USD 82 billion in sovereign bonds that defaulted in 2002 at the depth of the worst economic crisis in the nation s history. A second debt restructuring in 2010 brought the percentage of bonds, out of default, to 93%, though ongoing disputes with holdouts remained. Bondholders who participated in the restructuring, accepted repayments of around 30% of face value and deferred payment terms, and began to be paid punctually; the value of their bonds also began to rise. The remaining 7% of bondholders later won the right to be repaid in full. As part of the restructuring process, Argentina drafted agreements in which repayments would be handled through a New York corporation and governed by United States law. The holdout bondholders found themselves unable to seize Argentine sovereign assets in settlement, but realized that Argentina had omitted to provide for holdout situations and had instead deemed all bonds repayable on pari passu (equal) terms that prevented preferential treatment among bondholders. The holdout bondholders therefore sought, and won, an injunction in 2012 that prohibited Argentina from re paying the 93% of bonds that had been renegotiated, unless they simultaneously paid the 7% holdouts their full amount due as well. Here is a real life story of a woman who has been greatly affected by genetic testing and has seen both the good and the bad of genetic testing. This is a story that was posted in an article called 6 Moms Share Their Real Prenatal Testing Stories on the website What to Expect from Courtney from Lake Stevens, Washington about how genetic testing has affected her life. So for Courtney, a few weeks after her 13 week ultrasound and her quad screen her doctors told her she had a positive screen for Down syndrome. So at 17 weeks she had to go back in for another ultrasound and genetic counseling which according to kids health.org is counseling that allows a genetic counselor to evaluate the results of a genetic test with the parents and helps the parents understand and reach decisions on what to do next. Her ultrasound looked great but still had a positive screen for Down syndrome. So she was was recommended for either an amnio or verifi test. Courtney then went to genetic counseling and choose to have the verifi test done over the amnio. A week later her results came back negative for Down syndrome and confirmed the baby was a girl. Courtney said I am glad we opted to get the verifi test done especially after the stress of getting a positive screening before. I like how that if the NIPT did turn out positive for Down syndrome, I could have prepared ahead of time for the care of a special needs child would require, rather than feeling completely caught off guard at birth. Children all over the world have serious genetic diseases that affect their life on a daily. Some of these diseases are Achondroplasia, Down syndrome, and Turner s syndrome. Many believe genetic testing is a good way to test for these genetic conditions before the child is even born, but others think that it can harm the baby very badly and even cause a miscarriage, so they choose not to do this kind of testing. The mosaic is from Pella, Greece and dates to about 300 BCE. The piece currently resides in the Archaeological Museum in Pella. The mosaic is made entirely from pebbles of varying colors collected from the ground. The piece only has a few distinctive colors, the most prominent including black, white, and brown. White pebbles are used almost entirely for the two men s bodies, the dog, and part of the stag. Brown pebbles give character to the hair of the two men, body of the stag, and smaller elements like the eyes and lips of the figures. Finally, black pebbles create most of the background of the mosaic, marking a distinct contrast between the background and the white figures. Shading also beautifully enhances the mosaic, perhaps because of the limited color range. Especially noticeable are the cloaks of the two men. The use of light and shade seem to make the cloaks writhe over the powerful bodies they adorn. Shading defines the muscles of the men, accentuating their bodies and the power within them. Also creating definition is the use of various lines. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Secret Labyrinth Of A Snail Shell By Robert Hughes Essay The readings this week began to introduce basic ideas about urbanization and some general information about famous sites in Barcelona. In the first chapter of Barcelona: the Great Enchantress , Robert Hughes described how he was first introduced to Barcelona and its rich culture. He painted a very compelling picture of a city I now can t wait to visit one day. He began by introducing some Barcelonan sites he visited such as, the Sagrada Família designed by Gaudí, the Pyreness mountain range, and his friend Xavier Corberó s house, Can Cargol, located in Esplugües de Llobregat in Southern Barcelona. I found it fascinating that winding catacombs had been dug underneath Can Cargol for storage and possibly defense in the Roman times (Hughes 2004: 5). Hughes also suggested that these caves might have reminded people of the secret labyrinth of a snail shell (Hughes 2004: 5) which would explain how it got its Catalan name in which translates to house of the snail. He described his experiences in the cave and one particular instance stood out to me; In one of the storage rooms there was an old printing press that could have been used by a radicalist to promote anti Carlist texts (Hughes 2004: 5). It begins in the past, and then it smoothly moves farther in time and ends with statements and questions that are inspiring to further thought. Hersey arranged the sequence throughout forty years after the explosion, so that the reader can follow the characters lives as well as their history and surroundings. The title itself announces the subject and prepares the reader for the approach to take. It refers to the whole concept of the book, it tells the reader that it revolves around the city where the first atomic bomb was dropped. To put another way, information about Tanimoto s experience explains the motive of the narrative and predicts the developing person. Author provides the history details on conducting nuclear tests while talking about the Tanimoto s aftermath, for example, one of few: On May 18, 1974, India conducted its first nuclear test (151). In other words, Hersey skillfully pens dramatic narrative where readers experience action as if it were happening at real time. • 42. Super Cavitation Research Paper What is super cavitation? To understand this question another needs to be asked. This question is what is cavitation? Cavitation is the forming of small pockets of gas under water. These gas pockets are formed when an area of low pressure is created at a constant temperature which in turn forms gas bubbles that then rapidly collapse with immense force and heat. The heat and pressure of the collapsing cavitation bubbles can reach up to 5,000 degrees Celsius and 1,000 atmospheres or in other words almost the same amount of pressure as there is at the bottom of the ocean. Cavitation is a serious problem when looking at underwater machinery that can form and area of low pressure. This is because if cavitation occurs damage will be done to the machines. When cavitation occurs the heat and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As was stated above it is caused in several different ways. One is through heat evaporating water creating a gas pocket. Another is through pure speed and shape. The final is using propellers to form areas of low pressure to start cavitation and form a super cavity. All of these methods work and there is no real way to argue which method is the best as there are more ways currently being created but all of them work it s just a matter of find out how to make them work efficiently. Using heat to vaporize water could work but only if there is a method to deliver enough heat fast enough and for a long period of time otherwise it will only work for a short distance. Propellers could work on a greater scale but they would have to get increasingly larger and more powerful as size went up. Speed and shape alone could also work but a source of speed such as a rocket is needed and the source of the speed also must last a long time otherwise the object will only be able to travel short distances. Only time and more experimentation will create a more efficient form of super cavitation that is easily created and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 44. Essay on Equality and Civil Rights Democracy stresses the equality of all individuals and insists that all men are created equal. Democracy does not persist on an equality of condition for all people or argue that all persons have a right to an equal share of worldly goods. Rather, its concept of equality insists that all are entitled to equality of opportunity and equality before the law. The democratic concept of equality holds that no person should be held back for any such arbitrary reasons as those based on race, color, religion, or gender. This concept of equality holds that each person must be free to develop himself or herself as fully as he or she can or cares to and that each person should be treated as the equal of all other persons by the law. Equality and Civil Rights is complex in nature that the 14th Amendment (Equal Protection Clause) is the closest approach to a literal statement of equality, it declares: No State shall deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws. The clause was originally intended to benefit newly freed slaves. Over time, it has acquired a broader meaning. Today, it forbids states and their local governments to draw unreasonable distinctions between classes of persons. The equal rights amendment (ERA) was introduced in 1923. Their policy was for protection of women and based largely on sexual stereotypes, which has been woven into the legal fabric of American life. This protectionism has limited the freedom of women to compete with men socially and economically on an equal footing. The movement to provide equal rights to women advanced a step with the passage of the Equal Pay Act of 1963. That act required equal pay for men and women doing similar work. On the other hand, to remove the restrictions of protectionism, women needed equal opportunity for employment. They got it in the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and later the legislation. The commitment that led to affirmative action programs expanded opportunities for women, minorities, and those who are disabled. The (Equal Opportunity ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Fragments of spinal columns from Egyptian mummies dating back to 2400 BC show definite pathological signs of tubercular decay. Around 460 BC Hippocrates wrote on the subject of a disease which we now know as tuberculosis. In his article he warned his colleagues against visiting cases in the late stages of the disease, because the patient s inevitable death might damage the reputations of the attending physicians. The world s population remained totally defenseless to the lethal effects of tuberculosis for thousands of years. Marten s insight proved to be another enormous step towards the understanding and prevention of tuberculosis. In the 19th century Hermann Brehmer, a Silesian botany student whom was suffering from tuberculosis, was instructed by his physician to move to a healthier climate. Brehmer traveled to the Himalayan mountains mainly to pursue his botanical studies. What he didn t know at the time was that this journey would be attributed to curing his disease. When Brehmer returned home he began to study medicine. In 1854, he wrote his dissertation titled, Tuberculosis is a Curable Disease. He hypothesized that his recovery was directly related to the healthier environment found in the Himalayan mountains. Brehmer built an institution in Gorbersdorf where his patients received a nutritious diet and spent great amounts of time on their balconies where they were exposed to continuous fresh air. This clinic was the first step towards the development of a sanatorium. Sanatoria, could now be found throughout Europe and the United States. A sanatorium provided two functions. • 49. Religion And Politics Of The Catholic Church Religion influenced culture and politics by the power it holds, but can lose it by its flaws. In Europe, the Catholic Church has significantly change the lives of others. The Catholic Church dominated Europe during the Medieval time period. This church established laws which had structured a theological government that impacted lives. So that all laws would be made throughout Europe from the church. Also influenced men to fight in Crusades. Later on, the leaders of the Catholic Church were more interested in worldly aspects rather than their spiritual life. Which then lead the church to allow indulgences which caused the Reformation, that was lead by Martin Luther. Therefore, the Catholic religion impacted culture and politics in the society of Europe because it was the center of attention. Which established the Canon Laws, from that foundation it influenced others to fight in Crusades, and eventually the flaws of the church lead to the Reformation. The Catholic Church ruled all of Europe, so when they implemented Canon Laws it gave them more power. The Canon Laws held political and religious power, which the members of the church had to obey, if not they would be excommunicated from the church. Also would be tried through their court system( Power of the Church Lecture). This explained the church held a lot of power. Also it showed the church had an influence on how people s lives were going to be structured, because if they lived a certain lifestyle ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
