Essay On Great Expectations
Dickens Great Expectations follows and examines the life of a fictional character, Pip, who lives in
and falls victim to a world that despises the common man. Ever since his parents death, his
overbearing sister and conceited uncle instilled in him the belief that he was worthless as a poor youth.
He initially sought refuge with his sister s affectionate husband, Joe, until the beautiful Estella made
him feel a deep inferiority for the first time, in which he began to see an inferiority in Joe and his work
as a blacksmith. Pip continues to struggle with his self esteem until he becomes an educated
gentleman, and becomes just as condescending as Estella, and to some extent, Mrs. Joe. Even with a
newfound confidence, he still cannot find ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Joe and, later, Pip. It is important to note that it would be incorrect to say that all commoners are
completely worthless since then they would boast the same rank as those who are considered even less
than common, especially thieves and prisoners. For example, Magwitch, whose first memory is one of
theft, is the true embodiment of a worthless man; he even describes himself as a wretched warmint or
a bloodhound. Those who know that society only has hurt them still succumb to its degrading system.
Dickens also points out that, other than Biddy, Joe is the only early influence on Pip who does not fall
victim to the widespread hate of commonness. Mrs. Joe s side clearly has the majority: at Christmas
dinner all the guests, especially that swindling Pumblechook, ridiculed Pip, associating his nature with
that of a pig. When Pip went to become apprenticed to Joe, onlookers believed he would be tried as a
criminal: He s a young un, too, but [he] looks bad, don t he? In the scene, words such as bound, red
handed, and custody convey a sense that simply the way Pip appears on the outside makes the trip to
the court feel like a criminal trial. Dickens also applies this argument to the wealthy. The first time Pip
met the beautiful Estella, who spoke to him with disdain, and made him ashamed of my hands. If Pip s
childhood did anything for him, it convinced him that beauty,

Information the social worker gathers can help inform the rest of the client s healthcare team, as well
as inform them about how best to treat their illness, manage the disease, and even how they can best
interact with the client. They can even help the client weave their way through the healthcare system
and find local resources to help the client manage day to day life. [ (Careers, 2006) ]
Education Requirements
According to College Board, social workers are required to have a minimum of a bachelor s degree.
Acceptable bachelor s degree programs for entry level jobs include the bachelor s degree in social
work (BSW), as well as sociology, psychology and related fields. However, most jobs will require a
master s in social work (MSW). The Council on Social Work Education recognized 467 bachelor s
programs and 196 master s programs in June 2009. Accredited bachelor s degree programs require a
minimum of 400 hours of supervised experience, whereas master s degree programs require 900 hours
of supervised experience. [ (CollegeBoard.org, 2012) ]
As NHS Careers stated There are various routes to becoming a social worker, but you will need to
gain a professional qualification in social work (usually at degree level) either on a full time or part
time basis. This is offered at undergraduate and

Examples Of Spousal Betrayal In Half Of A Yellow Sun
Spousal betrayal
According to the Oxford Advanced Learner s Dictionary to betray means to hurt somebody who trusts
you especially by not being loyal or faithful. It frequently happens in our societies between two
siblings, two spouses or two States. Adichie depicts this situation throughout all her works. Half Of A
Yellow Sun, her second novel is no exception in this regard. In fact, the novel is a love story between
Odenigbo and Olanna, two lecturers at the university of Nsukka. Olanna s parents, Mr and Mrs Ozobia
use her as sexual bait in order to get business contrat from politicians. But she is clever enough and
has rejected three wealthy men for Odenigbo : chief Okonji, chief Okaro and Okagbue s son all
proposed to her by her materialistic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is a kind of freedom which satisfies and relaxes and rejuvenates one and sets one free from one s
anxieties. Nobody sees them doing it but she avows it to her fiancé. By so doing Olanna breaks the
statuquo. Olanna, fiancée to Odenigbo known to everybody in the University of Nsukka dares sleep
with another man and say it openly to her future husband. Her action would not have had any
importance if she had not informed Odenigbo. She informs him purposedly ; to let him feel what she
has felt when he did the samething with Amala. Here, Adichie uses her feminist weapon to charter
such denigrating and degrading treatments meted out to women by their lover. Olanna has reached her
goal because Odenigbo is upset and frustrated at hearing her love affair with Richard. He is obliged to
forgive her the way she did to him. Adichie puts Odenigbo in the same condition he has put Olanna in
to show that men through patriarchy should stop ill treating women and that like men women have a
conscience, feelings and a soul. The situation reminds me of a custom in Things Fall Apart where the
woman should say publicly how many men have slept with her since her fiancé has first expressed the
desire to marry her (TFA ; 11). Nobody asks such a question to men simply because patriarchy has
made people believe that men are superior to women and should not be controlled. Adichie by making
Olanna sleep with Richard is making a clarion call for the

Immigration Reform For Immigrants
Immigration Reform for Immigrants with Kids That Are Citizens
It s the year 2016 and the country has changed a lot of rules within the last 10 years regarding
immigration. However, illegals with anchor babies are still being deported for small things such as not
paying a ticket. Immigration is not a topic that applies to everyone, but immigration has always been
an issue in the United States for instance, in the past, it was made a big deal when immigration levels
rose significantly and families started getting separated. This issue has been brought up again because
of this year s presidential election and comments the candidates have made regarding immigrants.

For example, a page in a blog titled Should the Government Allow Immigrants Who Are Here

many people would pay large amounts of money to become citizens. Another benefit is that families
can live in peace without the fear of being separated and losing everything they worked for. However,
they also believe that it was not right to have come into the country illegally so these immigrants
should be punished not rewarded for breaking the law. Overall, there are people who are for, against,
and indecisive about an immigration reform. Creating an immigration reform would be beneficial to
many people in many ways. One benefit would be that it would help the economy because many
people would file to get the documents and it wouldn t be a cheap document. Another benefit is that
families wouldn t get separated and they wouldn t live in the fear of never seeing each other

White People In To Kill A Mockingbird
In today s day and age, the United States of America is seen of as the land where every human being is
treated fairly. However, it was not always like this and America was considered to be one of the most
racist countries in the world up until the 1980 s. From 1885 to 1968, when the Jim Crow laws were in
place, black people were segregated from whites and were treated like second class citizens. However,
black people fought for equality all throughout the Jim Crow era and finally succeeded after the civil
rights movement in the 1960 s. Blacks in the American South sought to improve their lives by
supporting and helping white people that had helped them before, by joining the American military,
and by protesting against segregation and their rights. One way that the blacks could improve their
lives is by supporting white people, especially white politicians that acknowledge who they are and try
to do something to help them. In the book To Kill a Mockingbird , Atticus Finch is well respected by
the black community after he attempts to defend Tom Robinson, a black man accused of murder. It
says in the text, I looked around. They were standing. All around us and in the balcony on the opposite
wall, the Negroes were getting to their feet (Page 215). That quote tells the reader how desperately the
black community in Maycomb is to create a name for themselves by respecting well known white
members of the community. Respecting white people was the first step that the blacks

Summary Of Happiness By Jane Kenyon
The speaker of the poem Happiness by Jane Kenyon doesn t seem like a person to have a very happy
and positive personality. The speaker explains more negative examples throughout the poem rather
than positive. For instance, she explain happiness as, It comes to the monk in his cell (line 20). This
quote makes people question the thoughts the speaker because monks are a member of a religious
community of men typically living under vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. In other words, a
monk living in a cell wouldn t bring happiness to them. Also the author explains, It comes to the
woman sweeping the street with a birch broom (line 21). This line in the poem also makes people
question what the authors meaning of happiness is because it

Sin In The God Of Vengeance
The word sin invokes a fairly Christian methodology, The Original Sin referring to Eve s eating the
apple in the Garden of Eden, setting up a world where humanity is forever inclined to sin. Sin remains,
to this day, a word of heavy connotations as the definition of sin itself shifts in the eyes of a Biblical
God and in the eyes of an evolving humanity. In Sholom Ash s play, The God of Vengeance, sin is the
main subject in varying forms: defilement of a Torah scroll by an impure girl and the sin of a man who
owns a brothel, potentially leading his daughter to a life of sin. All aspects of which get caught up in
one story that questions the morality of money as a means to repent for your sin, a lesbian
relationship, and the definition of purity as defined by Jewish law. All of this encapsulated by the
question of who is a sinner and what defines sin in both a Biblical context and in a modern context.
Sin, therefore, is a multifaceted entity dependent upon the world one lives in and not subscribing to
any one definition, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sin subscribes to no one definition and in fact, the definition changes from time period to time period
based on the needs of society to develop law and not on a solely religious landscape. Sholom Ash s
play, The God of Vengeance, raises many questions, and did at the time of its conception when it
appeared on Broadway. Paying off a religious organization, respecting the holy scripture, and same
sex relationships are all subjects which are still very much still up for debate. But, as our world has
evolved and become more aware of humanity, so too have our conceptions and rulings dealing with
those subjects in the context of sin, legality, and the basic messiness of being human. The God of
Vengeance makes the reader question the fundamentalism of reality, both in the present, past, and
future, as defined by the universe we live in

Competitive Characters In The Odyssey
My goal of competing in a 5k is like odysseus s journey home because I am training very hard and
sometimes I plateau and even have to backtrack to see progress to where finally I will achieve my
ultimate goal. There are assertive characters in The Odyssey that stand out to me and represent my
training and the hard road it is. The characters I chose were Athena, the Cyclops, the Lotus Eaters and
Odysseus. These characters imitate my training because they all serve as a symbol for each part of
practicing for the 5k. Athena, Athena is a very important character in the book The Odyssey because
she is Odysseus s coach to get him back to his wife and son at home. My Athena as a part of my
guidance is probably my mom or my brother. My mom is essential as to getting the food I need to stay
healthy and to increase my performance as well as keep encouraging me to do my absolute best. My
brother is more of the trainer to where he pushes me to the limits and advises on what to do what not
to do and things like that. Either way they both find a way to keep me on track to reach my goal of
competing in and completing a 5k. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Carina Essay
With reference corrected co added frames in hand, photometric magnitudes could now be found for all
the objects in Carina over the course of the observation campaign. I used aperture techniques to find
object magnitudes for the reference scaling described earlier, but more precise techniques, in the form
of point spread function (PSF) photometry, were required for proper photometric measurement in the
crowded fields of Carina and to achieve the lowest possible uncertainties. The pipeline was written in
Python v2.713 using AstropyPy v2.0, Photoutils v0.4, and Astropyp v0.0. Time was an issue when
processing 62 8 megapixel images in 300 frames, with each image taking up to 3 minutes of single
core compute time, and so multi core functionality was added. The magnitude of a star is a logarithmic
measure of its flux as measured by our imager. That flux is the sum of all the flux contained inside the
PSF, which is the 2D image of a point source of light. The PSF varies image to image due to changes
in the atmosphere, and can also vary spatially over ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

estimate of the Gaussian fit PSF and the background noise levels, respectively. It was particularly
tricky to find parameters that worked well for both clear and highly nebulous regions with small
features. Also, the parameters had to be tuned for particular filters and co adding depths. The
subsequent photometry routines for grouping, nstar fitting, and PSF subtraction were all part of the
Photoutils package. A sigma clipped median was used to estimate the

Advancements Of Invasive Surgery ( Mis ) Essay
Introduction With the rise of minimally invasive surgery (MIS) methods being used in medical
operating rooms, Medical Equipment Manufacturing (MEM) sees an opportunity to be the frontrunner
in developing the manufacturing processes and licensing the technology for this emerging market.
MEM is a manufacturer of an assortment of modern medical devices. The company sees potential in
developing manufacturing processes for the technology that can place an artificial socket with
precision during hip implants. However, the expenses involved are cause for concern. The success of
the product is also not guaranteed; moreover, MEM will have to consider the potential for competitors
who may produce analogous products. Initially, it was thought that the fixed cost of entering into this
market is $55 million, whereas the variable cost of present value revenue is $200 million. There is a
10% chance that MEM s development of this technology will be not marketable, resulting in the loss
of the fixed cost investment. Problem Statement Susan, Vice President of Product Innovation at MEM,
needs to make a choice of whether to launch the product into the market by developing the new
technology. She also needs an approximation of the total market shared by MEM for this product, and
the likely profits for MEM from following this new technology. According to the chief production

Essay about 2001 A Space Odyssey Analysis
2001: A Space Odyssey
The following paper will analyze the movie, 2001: A Space Odyssey by Stanley Kubrick and The
Centinel by Arthur C. Clarke. Although there are many themes present between the story and the film,
the following are the most dominant. I will be discussing Scientific themes, Religious and Moral
Themes, and Clarke s development of the short story into a full length film.
The first issue, I will be discussing the scientific themes of the movie. The movie, 2001: A Space
Odyssey, has a one of a kind vision of science and technology. The movie 2001 brings a great new
style of reality and realism to space technology and travel. Since there was no great ... Show more

The discussion about science leads into the second point of monoliths and technology.
www.dictionary.com defines a monolith as something, such as a column or monument, made from one
large block of stone. This is first portrayed in the first couple of scenes in the movie. As the gorilla
finds the monolith, picks it up and uses it as a weapon to kill prey. Next, when the gorilla throws the
bone up in to the air, it becomes a space ship over Earth. As I researched, this was the longest time
change in history of all the movies. Considering the bone became the spaceship just shows that even
though technologically people have progressed, the minds still stayed relatively the same with the
same goals. As a saying my mother once told me, Men are like children, but when they get older they
change their toys. I find this to be relevant in 2001 as the time change only portrays a different time
period but more or less the same content. Because the movie is very slow paced, in my opinion, it
gives the viewer a lot of time to question everything that is happening and make sure to understand
everything. There is not much conversation there either which is not serving as another distraction.
Makes the theme of the movie very clear. Stanley Kubrick also includes the

Donatello s Marble Sculpture Of David By Ghiberti
Renaissance art, as with most art, conveys a message about the present beliefs during the Renaissance
age, both religious and secular, through the central themes and form used in the piece. For instance,
Ghiberti s panels on the baptistery doors provide detailed scenes depicting stories from the Old
Testament, which defines the primary theme of this piece and illustrates the religious beliefs of the
Renaissance time. This piece also displays an immense level of humanism through the strong sense of
realism and naturalism Ghiberti provides. The figures were rendered as being part of an actual story
with their faces expressing obvious emotions. It is also apparent that Ghiberti was employing
characteristics of ancient Greek and Roman sculpture, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Likewise, Donatello s marble sculpture of David also possesses a religious theme, as it depicts the
biblical figure David and portrays his youthful courage and triumph over his enemies. This in itself
aided in the projection of Florentine beliefs and dreams, both religious and secular, as Florence was
often in conflict with other cities. Additionally, this pieces clearly exhibits Donatello s profound
understanding of sculptural adornment and classic form through his use of naturalism, which gives the
sculpture a sense of liveliness and emotion. Furthermore, the fresco displaying Saint. Peter healing the
sick with his shadow, painted inside the Church of Santa Maria del Carmine by Masaccio, shares
much of the same theme and reveals similar form as the two previously discussed artworks. Naturally,
Masaccio s fresco revolves around the same central theme, religion, as it portrays a portion of the
distinguished St. Peter s life and details a specific scene from the Book of Matthew. However, most
notable is Masaccio s use of realism, which is most evident through the representation of life like

Lord of the Flies Antrhopology Essay
Thomas Hobbes was one of the most controversial philosophers of all time. He argued that the, Life of
man [is] solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short (Hobbes 77). Clearly he didn t think that humanity was
a good group of beings. In the Lord of the Flies by William Golding, one character, Jack Merridew,
displays many characteristics of Hobbes philosophy on man. Time after time, Golding subtly refers to
Hobbes philosophy through Jack and his reactions with other characters in the book. After Golding
introduces the boys, they want to elect a chief, and already, Golding is using Hobbes anthropology. In
Hobbes Leviathan, he states, And therefore, if any two men desire the same thing which nevertheless

He even literally has his weapons pointed at Ralph in one scene specifically, in which the two leaders
are dueling. The narrator narrates, Jack made a rush and stabbed at Ralph s chest with spear. Ralph
sensed the position of the weapon from the glimpse he caught of Jack s arm and put the thrust aside
with his own butt (Golding 159). Even though Hobbes may have intended this to be figurative without
the actual leaders fighting, but their armies doing their work, this seems to fit the same kind of
description. Hobbes really means that kings, or in this case chiefs, are always looking to fight each
other, always ready for battle, always looking to rid themselves of their opponents. In the same way,
Jack is always looking to fight Ralph, always ready for battle against Ralph, always looking to rid
himself of Ralph. Golding ultimately connects Jack to Hobbes through Jack s lack of mercy and
justice. An unknown author composed a summary of Hobbes argument pertaining to this subject, and
wrote The state of nature... was founded upon a savage egoism which drove man to seek a maximum
of pleasure without hindrance from a norm of justice or mercy toward other men. Every man was
continually engaged in war against all other men (Paragraph 9). Throughout the book, Jack
fastidiously tries to not offer mercy or due justice to people. In one instance, Ralph pleads for mercy
upon the twins, Sam and Eric. The narrator says, Grab them! No one moved. Jack shouted angrily. I

Racial Discrimination Against Minorities And Immigrants
Since the start of American history, immigrants came here and brought their traditions and cultures
with them. The United States is a country of immigrants. It is a place where people from all over the
world come to build a better life. Some immigrants bring their families. Others come alone with
nothing but determination. Racial discrimination against minorities and immigrants is an underlying
problem here in America today. Racism is seen in our daily lives when people are discriminated
against because of their race and ethnicity. Racism attacks the right to a person s well being on the
basis of something they have no control over. They cannot change nor should want to change who
they are. Racial discrimination is not as bad as it was fifty years ago, but it still a problem here in our
country today. Our country has advanced tremendously as far as modernization and technology, but
has not improved on the way we treat minorities and immigrants. From African Americans, Asians,
Hispanics, and Arabs there is a form of discrimination against these group of minorities.
On social media there was a trending hashtag, #BlackLivesMatter, when the riots in Ferguson began in
August 2014 over the killing of a young African American male by a white police officer. The African

The European Union (EU) vs the North American Free Trade Agreement
Introduction
The European Union (EU) is the organization which integrates the countries listed below, both
politically and economically. It is a customs union, which is an agreement amongst a group of
countries to eliminate trade barriers between them on the movement of goods, services, labor and
capital, and also to establish a common external tariff on goods and services coming into the union.
The EU evolved from the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC), which was formed in 1951 as
a response to the First and Second World Wars to try to ensure future peace in Europe. This became
the European Economic Community (EEC) in 1965, which in turn became the European ... Show

Indeed, the ideological foundations that gave birth to the EU were based on ensuring development and
maintaining international stability, i.e., the containment of communist expansion in post World War II
Europe (Hunt 1989). The Maastricht Treaty which gave birth to the EU in 1992 included
considerations for joint policies in regard to military defense and citizenship.
Trading blocs could strongly affect a company s investment decision. This particular trading bloc
development prompted Ford to realise it could consider Europe to be one common market rather than
a collection of individual markets. In 1967, Ford changed its management structure to include its
European operations under one umbrella organisation known as Ford Europe Incorporated. Its two
large U.K. and German manufacturing centres remained an important dimension of the new strategy,
but they were no longer considered separate, independently operating companies. Despite nationalistic
tendencies on the part of the host country management, Ford decided that, from the companies
perspective, it was best to eliminate national boundaries, and a German director said, The pooling of

where VW can focus their changes on and learn from these. Furthermore, this report will show a
situation analysis on the automobile industry leading to the problems and opportunities for VW. These
analyses will be followed by an evaluation matrix outlining a contingency plan. Following this, a three
level product concept will be conducted to assess VW s core product and actual product after
completing an internal analysis. These evaluations will result in a list of marketing strategies and an
action plan for VW s executive team to meet. Research has been sourced from industry websites,
academic research and competitor analysis.

Analysis Of The Poem Chris Orr
Chris Orr was a good respectful young kid, there was nothing wrong with him except he was a heroin
addict stated Rick Anderson, local pier bowl merchant and longtime San Clemente local. Personally, I
remember growing up in San Clemente, CA and waking up each morning and walking out on to my
family deck and looking out onto the beach, thinking to myself how lucky my family was for the
opportunity to be by the beach. I loved the beach, the feel of the ocean s spray upon my face, the sand
beneath my toes, but it wasn t until heroin began to directly affect the lives of people around me that I
truly began to understand that something darker lingered along the shoreline. For example, Chris was
my friend, we grew up together, we played together as kids, and as we got older, we partied together.
For a short while Chris even lived at my house. His sweet personality and loving heart made him hard
to resist. No matter how much we loved him, he had a problem and he just couldn t seem to overcome
it. Finally, Chris lost his struggle with addiction in 2002. Many people mourned the light that was
extinguished on that day, thought of what could have and what should have been done differently to
prevent such a tragic death. Since his death, I have lost several friends to heroin use and the numbers
are growing in this small beach community. In examining the reasons behind the recent increase
heroin use in Orange County, including the impact on the youth, available medical

John F. Kennedy’s Assassination
Over fifty years have passed since the assassination of John F. Kennedy and still it is one of the most
talked about assassinations of all time. JFK was assassinated on November 22, 1963 in Dealey Plaza,
Dallas, Texas ( The White House ). John and his wife, Jacqueline, were riding in an open top car down
the streets of Dealey Plaza when the President John Kennedy was shot and killed. This event
traumatized many Americans, Over 66% of people in America believe that the assassination was part
of a larger conspiracy while only 25% think it was just one individual working alone (Blaton ). The
assassination of JFK has been argued for many years; the government declared that Lee Harvey
Oswald worked alone, but many have different stories. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was this action made by Jack Ruby, that made this particular assassination suspicious and one of the
biggest conspiracy theories. The government investigated the murder of President Kennedy and
declared that Lee Harvey Oswald was responsible and he worked alone. But many questions were left
unanswered by the government, making many wonder what really happened on November 22, 1963.
Over the years more information has arisen from new investigations and people expressing their
opinions to the public. The most talked about conspiracy theory is that Lyndon B. Johnson was
responsible for the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Then Vice President Lyndon Baines Johnson had
the most to gain in the short term, said Stone, who has taught a JFK assassination course at the
university since the early 90s (Stone). Roger Stone, a former aid to Nixon, claims he has evidence
against LBJ that he was the one who organized the whole assassination. Stone plans to have a book
released on these accusations this fall. Roger Stone claims Johnson micro managed Kennedy s Dallas
motorcade, demanding it pass through Dealey Plaza on the afternoon he was shot. Stone also claims
that Johnson hired Jack Ruby several years in advance before the shooting of JFK happened (Stone).

Is America A Beautiful Country
Some might say that America is a beautiful country, and that it is filled with freedom and hard work,
but is it truly? After some quick research, I have come to disagree. Even though we are a powerful
country, we seem to be divided amongst our people by some particular reasons. After some further
research, I have come to conclude that these reasons are;Political problems, unhealthy food, and the
fact that other countries have what we have. You may be thinking, How would this cause someone to
leave the country, and how could some of these reasons separate us as a country? Well, I think so for
these particular reasons.
Starting off, it is a known fact that politics affect everyday life. So if you have political problems, than
it is going to have a negative impact on everyday life. Not only that, but it covers such broad aspect of
life, and will affect almost EVERY SINGLE PART OF EVERYDAY LIFE. To give an example, if
there are bias and inequality in politics, it will definitely affect the people on the other end of the
sword. Ironically, this does happen, through racism, and mistreatment of the LGBTQ s. Racism has
been a thing in America ever since our freedom from England. From American slavery to segregation,
it was almost considered edicate to dislike and mistreat blacks and mexicans. Now that segregation is
illegal, and illegal working conditions for mexican immigrants isn t as big as a problem, people think
that racism doesn t exist. Well, looking at examples through history, you can t kill a culture with laws,
and this isn t an exception. When I was ten, my youngest sister s friend s mom wouldn t allow her to
go to her party, because she was black. My older sister and father have both been called derogatory
and racist names growing up. A lady opened up her house to victims in the Las Vegas shooting to help,
but she wouldn t allow any blacks or gays. There are also countless videos online of people being
racist. Two that come to mind is when a lady wouldn t let her child be seen by a black doctor, and one
woman called a black man racist names and spit on him. An epidemic of unarmed young black males
have been getting shot and killed by police for almost no reason. The L.A riots were caused because of

How many hours can you play each day?:
Depending on my school schedule and homework, I could have anywhere from 3 8 hours to play
except on Fridays, when I m with my football team before and during our game, which is from 3:15
pm 10:30 pm. I usually have the whole weekend free to play, unless I m helping my dad coach my
brothers football team, which doesn t happen very often, or I m babysitting, which I do for my
neighbors from time to time. I play 4 5 hours everyday during the week, and 15+ during the weekend.
Have you had any past experience?:
My first experience being staff was in 2014, when I was a chat mod on woodycraft.net, a vanilla
factions server. I resigned because the server started to die and only had 10+ people on every day. I
was also a chat mod on Opticcraft.tv (7 months) and mod on Pulsepvp (4 months), but I resigned to
focus on football. I tore my ACL this year, so I have a lot more free time on my hands, which I have
recently spent playing on MiniHCF s SOTW. Most of my recent experience on servers has been

and mentally. The companies demand more responsibilities from fewer people, which can cause a lot
of stress. The workloads increase to where one is working more hours and even weekends.
Downsizing basically takes you away from your family and friends. Even though it is good for the
company, it s the employees who pay for it. (v) This study was part an attempt to analyze some of the
variables that could affect the motivational level of survivors of downsizing variables. Furthermore the
study proved that there was a big communication gap between the employees and the management,
also that the management failed to answer the emotional needs of the survivors of downsizing which
eventually resulted in a lot of mental trauma. However research has recognized that downsizing may

L. L Bean Boots Essay
Bean boots are not only used for hunting but are also used for day to day wear. The initials in L.L bean
stand for Leon Leonwood(Westbrook). Leon Leonwood was the founder of the LL bean boots and
started the company as well. The production of Bean boots dates back to 1912 and the company is still
making the same style of boots today (History of Ll Bean). Leon Leonwood spent most of his time
outdoors. Leonwood needed a waterproof boot that could be worn out which inspired him to invent
the Bean Boots ( History of Ll Bean). L.L. Bean boots are one of the most popular outdoor footwear
items that are on the market because they are waterproof, stylish, and good for hunting.
The L.L Bean boot is known for being able to wear it in all conditions and one of these traits include
being waterproof. The boot consists of leather at the top and a rubber midsole. Leonwood put them to
the test as he was exploring outside for many years. The first time he released his Bean boots, ninety
nine of the one hundred pairs were returned because they were not waterproof ( History of L.L. Bean )
. Leon wanted to perfect his product, so changes were made which included a new kind of stitching
where the leather connected to the rubber ( History of L.L. Bean ). ... Show more content on

Bean boot is a good decision is because of the stylish look the boot portrays. In 2017 about 600,000
bean boots were purchased with 20,000 more people on a waitlist to get popular sizes(Green). The
Bean Boots have been in production for about one hundred years and their sales have been
consistently good. In 2014, the sales were 54.9% then increased in 2015 to 215.3%. The boots are
very hard to find. There were only 600,000 pairs produced last year. Not many retail stores carry them
which means they would need to be ordered directly off their website if they are in stock.

The Relationship Between Eloi and the Morlocks in The...
The Relationship Between Eloi and the Morlocks in The Time Machine by H.G. Wells
The Time Machine was inventively written as a social critique of the Victorian Era in 1895 by Herbert
George Wells, the father of modern science fiction. Wells used the novel to get the messages across on
social and political problems at the time when London was on top of the world. The novel criticized
mainly on communism, imperialism, capitalism, as well as Social Darwinism. The Time Machine was
an adventurous science fiction novel about a Time Traveler, the inventor of a time machine who
traveled to the year 802,701 A.D. In the course of his journey, he saw the degeneration and the

The sight of the Elois reminded the Time Traveler of communism, which was one of the themes in the
novel, since they were all alike. Not only did they have delicate features of human but they were also
portrayed as being childlike. Then in a flash, I perceived that all had the same form of costume, the
same soft hairless visage, and the same girlish rotundity of limb, (Wells, 31). Regardless of their
physical similarities, the Time Traveler could not distinguish the age and the gender of the Elois since
they all looked the same. He believed that this was a result of the world without troubles or fear, in
which he criticized.
The theme of degeneration was apparent in this novel especially with the Elois. Not only were they
weak and childlike, but they also did not work or study. All they did was to play, sleep, eat, bath, and
laugh all day long. The Elois were stupid and lazy. They also could not concentrate for a long period
of time and they did not have much interest as seen when the Time Traveler was trying to tell them
where he was from or to teach them his language. You see I had always anticipated that the people of
the year Eight Hundred and Two Thousand odd would be incredibly in front of us in knowledge, art,
everything. Then one of them suddenly asked me a question that showed him to be on the

  • 2. Essay On Great Expectations Dickens Great Expectations follows and examines the life of a fictional character, Pip, who lives in and falls victim to a world that despises the common man. Ever since his parents death, his overbearing sister and conceited uncle instilled in him the belief that he was worthless as a poor youth. He initially sought refuge with his sister s affectionate husband, Joe, until the beautiful Estella made him feel a deep inferiority for the first time, in which he began to see an inferiority in Joe and his work as a blacksmith. Pip continues to struggle with his self esteem until he becomes an educated gentleman, and becomes just as condescending as Estella, and to some extent, Mrs. Joe. Even with a newfound confidence, he still cannot find ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Joe and, later, Pip. It is important to note that it would be incorrect to say that all commoners are completely worthless since then they would boast the same rank as those who are considered even less than common, especially thieves and prisoners. For example, Magwitch, whose first memory is one of theft, is the true embodiment of a worthless man; he even describes himself as a wretched warmint or a bloodhound. Those who know that society only has hurt them still succumb to its degrading system. Dickens also points out that, other than Biddy, Joe is the only early influence on Pip who does not fall victim to the widespread hate of commonness. Mrs. Joe s side clearly has the majority: at Christmas dinner all the guests, especially that swindling Pumblechook, ridiculed Pip, associating his nature with that of a pig. When Pip went to become apprenticed to Joe, onlookers believed he would be tried as a criminal: He s a young un, too, but [he] looks bad, don t he? In the scene, words such as bound, red handed, and custody convey a sense that simply the way Pip appears on the outside makes the trip to the court feel like a criminal trial. Dickens also applies this argument to the wealthy. The first time Pip met the beautiful Estella, who spoke to him with disdain, and made him ashamed of my hands. Examples Of Spousal Betrayal In Half Of A Yellow Sun Spousal betrayal According to the Oxford Advanced Learner s Dictionary to betray means to hurt somebody who trusts you especially by not being loyal or faithful. Half Of A Yellow Sun, her second novel is no exception in this regard. In fact, the novel is a love story between Odenigbo and Olanna, two lecturers at the university of Nsukka. Here, Adichie uses her feminist weapon to charter such denigrating and degrading treatments meted out to women by their lover. Olanna has reached her goal because Odenigbo is upset and frustrated at hearing her love affair with Richard. He is obliged to forgive her the way she did to him. Adichie puts Odenigbo in the same condition he has put Olanna in to show that men through patriarchy should stop ill treating women and that like men women have a conscience, feelings and a soul. The situation reminds me of a custom in Things Fall Apart where the woman should say publicly how many men have slept with her since her fiancé has first expressed the desire to marry her (TFA ; 11). However, it was not always like this and America was considered to be one of the most racist countries in the world up until the 1980 s. From 1885 to 1968, when the Jim Crow laws were in place, black people were segregated from whites and were treated like second class citizens. However, black people fought for equality all throughout the Jim Crow era and finally succeeded after the civil rights movement in the 1960 s. Blacks in the American South sought to improve their lives by supporting and helping white people that had helped them before, by joining the American military, and by protesting against segregation and their rights. One way that the blacks could improve their lives is by supporting white people, especially white politicians that acknowledge who they are and try to do something to help them. In the book To Kill a Mockingbird , Atticus Finch is well respected by the black community after he attempts to defend Tom Robinson, a black man accused of murder. It says in the text, I looked around. They were standing. All around us and in the balcony on the opposite wall, the Negroes were getting to their feet (Page 215). • 8. Sin In The God Of Vengeance The word sin invokes a fairly Christian methodology, The Original Sin referring to Eve s eating the apple in the Garden of Eden, setting up a world where humanity is forever inclined to sin. Sin remains, to this day, a word of heavy connotations as the definition of sin itself shifts in the eyes of a Biblical God and in the eyes of an evolving humanity. In Sholom Ash s play, The God of Vengeance, sin is the main subject in varying forms: defilement of a Torah scroll by an impure girl and the sin of a man who owns a brothel, potentially leading his daughter to a life of sin. All aspects of which get caught up in one story that questions the morality of money as a means to repent for your sin, a lesbian relationship, and the definition of purity as defined by Jewish law. I used aperture techniques to find object magnitudes for the reference scaling described earlier, but more precise techniques, in the form of point spread function (PSF) photometry, were required for proper photometric measurement in the crowded fields of Carina and to achieve the lowest possible uncertainties. The pipeline was written in Python v2.713 using AstropyPy v2.0, Photoutils v0.4, and Astropyp v0.0. Time was an issue when processing 62 8 megapixel images in 300 frames, with each image taking up to 3 minutes of single core compute time, and so multi core functionality was added. The magnitude of a star is a logarithmic measure of its flux as measured by our imager. Time after time, Golding subtly refers to Hobbes philosophy through Jack and his reactions with other characters in the book. Even though Hobbes may have intended this to be figurative without the actual leaders fighting, but their armies doing their work, this seems to fit the same kind of description. Hobbes really means that kings, or in this case chiefs, are always looking to fight each other, always ready for battle, always looking to rid themselves of their opponents. Analysis Of The Poem Chris Orr Chris Orr was a good respectful young kid, there was nothing wrong with him except he was a heroin addict stated Rick Anderson, local pier bowl merchant and longtime San Clemente local. Personally, I remember growing up in San Clemente, CA and waking up each morning and walking out on to my family deck and looking out onto the beach, thinking to myself how lucky my family was for the opportunity to be by the beach. I loved the beach, the feel of the ocean s spray upon my face, the sand beneath my toes, but it wasn t until heroin began to directly affect the lives of people around me that I truly began to understand that something darker lingered along the shoreline. For example, Chris was my friend, we grew up together, we played together as kids, and as we got older, we partied together. For a short while Chris even lived at my house. His sweet personality and loving heart made him hard to resist. No matter how much we loved him, he had a problem and he just couldn t seem to overcome it. Finally, Chris lost his struggle with addiction in 2002. Many people mourned the light that was extinguished on that day, thought of what could have and what should have been done differently to prevent such a tragic death. Since his death, I have lost several friends to heroin use and the numbers are growing in this small beach community. In examining the reasons behind the recent increase heroin use in Orange County, including the impact on the youth, available medical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 27. Is America A Beautiful Country Some might say that America is a beautiful country, and that it is filled with freedom and hard work, but is it truly? After some quick research, I have come to disagree. Even though we are a powerful country, we seem to be divided amongst our people by some particular reasons. After some further research, I have come to conclude that these reasons are;Political problems, unhealthy food, and the fact that other countries have what we have. You may be thinking, How would this cause someone to leave the country, and how could some of these reasons separate us as a country? Well, I think so for these particular reasons. Starting off, it is a known fact that politics affect everyday life. So if you have political problems, than it is going to have a negative impact on everyday life. Not only that, but it covers such broad aspect of life, and will affect almost EVERY SINGLE PART OF EVERYDAY LIFE. To give an example, if there are bias and inequality in politics, it will definitely affect the people on the other end of the sword. Ironically, this does happen, through racism, and mistreatment of the LGBTQ s. Racism has been a thing in America ever since our freedom from England. From American slavery to segregation, it was almost considered edicate to dislike and mistreat blacks and mexicans. Now that segregation is illegal, and illegal working conditions for mexican immigrants isn t as big as a problem, people think that racism doesn t exist. Well, looking at examples through history, you can t kill a culture with laws, and this isn t an exception. When I was ten, my youngest sister s friend s mom wouldn t allow her to go to her party, because she was black. My older sister and father have both been called derogatory and racist names growing up. A lady opened up her house to victims in the Las Vegas shooting to help, but she wouldn t allow any blacks or gays. There are also countless videos online of people being racist. Two that come to mind is when a lady wouldn t let her child be seen by a black doctor, and one woman called a black man racist names and spit on him. An epidemic of unarmed young black males have been getting shot and killed by police for almost no reason. The L.A riots were caused because of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
